First established in 1912, this estate offers plenty of old-school charm to help you build your romantic atmosphere. This six-story building is nestled right in the heart of Columbus and offers glorious views of the city skyline throughout the setting. The Athletic Club Of Columbus can host events of various sizes, from intimate elopements to large receptions with up to 300 guests. Their main ballroom features stunning architecture throughout the open space, from the detailed ceilings and detailed chandeliers to the sleek hardwood flooring. The ACC on wedding day is a dream. The space itself is beautiful, it gushes with elegance and class. We had the best day of our lives and that is due to the amazing venue and phenomenal workers at the ACC. Kelsey was there with us every step of the way and made sure that our day went perfectly, not once was I asked about something or worried about something for the reception. She was so communicative, responsive, and makes you feel like the most important bride. Andy and the bartenders who work the reception go above and beyond. We seriously were so impressed with the alcohol, service, and accommodations that we would recommend those guys every day. Brittney was there throughout the day and made sure everything went smoothly starting early in the morning, there was a coffee station set up for the girls in the suite and the guys had the squash courts booked with coffee service up there. She checked in and set up lunch and cleared everything - she was so thoughtful and sincere and it was wonderful having her smiling face there in the morning and afternoon. Overall, the ACC is the most incredible venue - the staff, the ballroom, the mantle, the staircase, the after party in the basement - it all makes for the most memorable and perfect day of your life. I will recommend the ACC over and over again because it really is a very special place. You will not regret booking your wedding or event here! Get ready for the best day ever!

Huge thanks to the ACC for an absolutely magical wedding! We had our wedding in early December, and we were looking for a place that could accommodate both the ceremony and the reception, and had a nice indoor interior (as the weather in Columbus does not always cooperate in the winter!). We loved the ACC a lot after our visit; it is a historic building, and my MOH called it a \"palace\". The interior decor is so beautiful, and, even though this is by no means a cheap venue, we felt we didn't need to spend much on any extra decorations (and it also saved a lot of stress as we felt that the venue is already so pretty!). For example, we didn't have flower centerpieces or wedding arches; we just got some extra candles, and loose greenery for the tables. We got so many compliments from the guests on the looks of the venue, and on the food (which was delicious!) Kelsey, who was our coordinator there, was super nice and very efficient and responsive, it was such a pleasure to work with her and over the details. Also, very transparent about the costs, no nasty surprises. Certainly recommend as a wedding venue!

We are so happy with our decision to get married at the ACC!! It is absolutely beautiful and the staff is amazing. Kelsey the coordinator especially went above and beyond for us and is so kind and helpful. She was a HUGE part in making our day perfect and run so smoothly. The food was so delicious and the drinks were made perfectly. We are still getting compliments from our guests! Our vendors also loved working with the ACC. I rented the bridal/statehouse suite to get ready in and there was plenty of space for all of my bridal party to get ready with a great view of the statehouse. We cannot thank the ACC and Kelsey enough!!

When we started looking at wedding venues, we originally thought we wanted somewhere with an outdoor ceremony space, so much so that we almost cancelled our visit with ACC. However, as soon as we walked in we fell in love with the beauty of the ballroom, the dining room, and the fireplace, and ACC immediately captured our hearts. As we worked through the months of planning, Kelsey did a great job answering all of our questions and directing us to upcoming things that needed to be addressed. On our wedding night, Kelsey and her team guided us through the evening seamlessly. Our only negative feedback is that we were surprised to find less food on our dinner plates than we expected for a typical meal and when considering the cost per plate. Other than this, we overall were very happy with our ACC experience and would highly recommend working with Kelsey and this venue! We would have given 4.5 star rating here if we were able to.

The Athletic Club (especially Kelsey) was absolutely fantastic! Kelsey was very communicative throughout the planning process (via a huge email thread) and was great during the rehearsal and day-of. The staff working the event (especially Michael the bartender, who asked us our drink order before the ceremony and had those drinks delivered to us immediately after the ceremony) was great and I am still having guests message me about how beautiful the event space is and the professionalism of the staff.Things to note: there is a minimum spend depending on if your wedding is Friday or Saturday (no Sunday weddings). when you book, you get the whole second floor so can use some of the side rooms to have prep things. The ACC has a really good flow for the reception--> cocktail hour --> reception and people don't have to see the chairs getting moved, etc. They have a basement bowling alley that you can use for the after party (we did and it was perfect). The ACC doesn't provide cake, florals, DJ but has recommendations for options. The venue is beautiful and feels like you're getting a really good value for the price, AND you don't have to coordinate with linens/catering, etc. My sister stayed at the ACC for the weekend, and the room she stayed in is definitely big enough for a small bridal party (~6 + hair and makeup people) to get ready in. We did not get member privileges for the weekend, which was a small bummer initially but was actually fine. You're also caddy corner from the capitol building and can take some really great photos there (weather permitting)This was the perfect venue for us. I'm lying in wait for local friends to get engaged so I can convince them to get married here so we can come back for another wedding!

We are members of the Athletic Club so it was a no brainer to have our wedding reception at one of the most beautiful ballrooms in the city. The staff is AMAZING starting with Kelsey the event coordinator who will answer all your questions and make sure your event runs smoothly! (We live out of state, we did not have a planner and had 140 guests)! The bartender Mike was also a great time! The food was higher quality than your average wedding! The venue also has a great after party room downstairs which is sure to please all your guest! The venue also has room available onsite which we used during our stay.

We booked The Athletic Club for our wedding back in 2019. We then changed dates twice due to COVID, and they were very accommodating. I have heard horror stories from other brides about venues not letting them switch or not getting deposits back, etc. and it was honestly relatively easy to switch dates at the ACC. On the wedding day, I got so many compliments from guests with how great the service was. Also, if you haven't been there, when you visit, you will see that it is a beautiful space to work with -- no matter what your vision is for your wedding day. Finally, we did our after party downstairs in the booth, and that was a really fun option -- it was kind of what sealed the deal for us with the ACC in the first place. Our guests enjoyed the time in The Booth and stayed late bowling and eating pizza -- it was a great way to keep the party going!

A long overdue (but extraordinarily deserved) review from our wedding this past September...Our experience with The Athletic Club of Columbus was simply phenomenal! I'd read countless reviews from other brides recounting their wedding days and in truth, no words can do it justice. The building itself is stunning. The building's architecture is beautiful, timeless, and well-kept. The biggest bonus was having the hotel rooms available for our family. Lisa was wonderful to work with during the planning. She is incredibly organized and ensures that no detail is left unaccounted. Whenever I had a question, she always had an answer for me within a day. We had a specific vision for our day and she made sure that it was everything that we wanted. The day before our wedding we met with Thom, our day-of coordinator, and he was an incredible force. In the twenty minutes that I had with him, he took the time to introduce me to himself and to other members of his team and took note of my last minute to-dos and sought to help me anyway that he could. This made me feel so comfortable that everything would go off without a hitch. The day of our wedding, he made sure that my husband and I had the chance to eat and that we always had a drink in our hand. Every wedding needs a Thom! A long overdue (but extraordinarily deserved) review from our wedding this past September...Our experience with The Athletic Club of Columbus was simply phenomenal! I'd read countless reviews from other brides recounting their wedding days and in truth, no words can do it justice. The building itself is stunning. The building's architecture is beautiful, timeless, and well-kept. The biggest bonus was having the hotel rooms available for our family. Lisa was wonderful to work with during the planning. She is incredibly organized and ensures that no detail is left unaccounted. Whenever I had a question, she always had an answer for me within a day. We had a specific vision for our day and she made sure that it was everything that we wanted. The day before our wedding we met with Thom, our day-of coordinator, and he was an incredible force. In the twenty minutes that I had with him, he took the time to introduce me to himself and to other members of his team and took note of my last minute to-dos and sought to help me anyway that he could. This made me feel so comfortable that everything would go off without a hitch. The day of our wedding, he made sure that my husband and I had the chance to eat and that we always had a drink in our hand. Every wedding needs a Thom! Look no further. Book your wedding at The Athletic Club of Columbus! We looked at a few downtown venues, but were initially blown away by the sheer charm and beauty of the Athletic Club. When we met with Lisa, the events coordinator, we knew that this was the venue we wanted for our wedding reception. Lisa was one of the most responsive vendors we have worked with. She answered question after question with such patience and grace and helped make our reception perfect, down to every last detail. She explained everything - sometimes multiple times, to ensure that we understood everything. It was easy- they provide everything- catering, linens, table numbers, etc. We brought a few other decorations to personalize a little, but the venue is so naturally gorgeous and really needs no decorating. Another side note- some venues make you pay a few thousand dollars to rent nicer chairs, or a few hundred to cut a cake- you wonât find silly fees like this at the ACC.The week of the wedding, we had major stressful issues with some of our other vendors. Not with the ACC. We did not encounter one issue the entire year we planned our wedding. Not one! They remained professional and a joy to work with the entire time. Every detail was laid out and well communicated. The day of the wedding- everything was executed perfectly. We met Thom, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of and that we did not have to worry about anything. He had cake sent to our room so that we had a chance to eat some at the end of the night!Donât forget to check out the after party space in the basement of the ACC. Once the reception was over, we all went downstairs to continue the celebration with bowling and billiards. Our guests are still raving about it!The ACC was the best choice we could have made when planning our wedding!

My now husband and I were married at the ACC in early April 2019. We read rave reviews about the venue online, saw beautiful pictures and added it to our list when we flew to Columbus during our initial search. As soon as we walked into the renovated lobby, we knew it was the location we wanted for our wedding reception. A massive vase of flowers greets you at the historic front entrance, stunning leather furniture decorates the entryway and the deep and polished wood sets the tone for the perfect winter/spring wedding. Honestly... we were blown away by our first impression of the Club. And then we met Lisa. It's safe to say it was love at first handshake. Her kindness, smarts and supportive spirit was so attractive - as we were a couple that was planning from afar. You could tell that she was equal parts fun and professional. Being that we are based in NYC (Columbus is my hometown), we were looking for a team of communicators to stay in touch and help us every step of the way. The ACC was everything we had hoped for and then some. We had the pleasure of meeting Thom the week leading up to our wedding, and were so impressed. He shook our hands, introduced us to the entire team who was setting up for/serving at our wedding, and got to know our parents and immediate family members who were staying onsite. Lisa, Thom and the ACC team went above and beyond to cater to our parents and their preferences, and made sure that we had the dream experience from soup to nuts. Our wedding day was magical, y'all. The venue looked stunning -- the tables were in perfect order, our linens and chairs were set the night before (so we could have a sneak peek with our brothers and sisters), and the chandeliers sparkled to perfection. The staff was professional, helpful and courteous. Every single individual we encountered made us feel like royalty on our big day. The food was exceptional and the wine was equally yummy. Every individual that we spoke with raved about the salmon and short rib. Looking back, not one person had a negative thing to say about the apps, food or drinks. We opted for an \"elevated\" open bar as we both have big Irish Catholic families - and it did not disappoint. The ACC even worked with us to ensure our favorite beer from ATL (where we met) was served. In fact, I visited the bar during the wedding and the bartender handed me the very last craft beer from ATL. Before I knew it, someone came up to me and said the staff ran out and restocked the craft beer mid-wedding. I mean... BEST SERVICE EVER. They truly wanted us to be happy and have everything we could have needed or wanted that evening. That we did. I'd also like to shout-out the ACC's preferred vendor list which Lisa shared with us. The ACC developed a custom list of vendors they enjoy working with and it's how we found many of our favorites, specifically our planner Michelle (STR Events). They don't just identify the most expensive in the city - but rather those who are \"best in class\" and deliver exceptional service much like the ACC. It's true that the ACC is NOT the cheapest option in Columbus. But, they are the VERY BEST use of your dollars if you're looking for peace of mind, a stunning venue, and a day that your guests will rave about for years to come. They aren't a vendor, they are your team. We very much felt that at the end of the day, the ACC was like family. In my opinion, you can't put a price on that! Thank you ACC. We are eternally grateful.

The venue was the most important decision for us - we started visiting potential places the moment we got engaged. I scoured the internet to the point where I felt like I was an expert on all the possible venues around Columbus. Having read tons of reviews for tons of places, now that it's my turn to write one I feel like I can't possibly say enough to express how wonderful the Athletic Club was as a venue. You can visit for yourself and see how gorgeous the location is, you can try the food ahead of time to know how delicious it is, you can even get all the details like parking in the lot is included for your guests. What you won't know until the day of is how incredible the staff is! We worked with Lisa leading up to the big day and she was always quick to communicate and guide us on any questions. She was there the day of to help make sure everything clipped along too. The entire staff the night of the wedding was fantastic! At one point before the ceremony, I noticed price tags left on the felt backs of our frames for the table numbers. My mom started trying to use a hair dryer to melt them off, and the staff ended up taking over for her and doing it themselves. It was such an above and beyond gesture! The entire staff did a great job of putting our decor together as well. The bartender, I hear, was a big hit too! The food was out quickly and efficiently. At our sweetheart's table, they had our signature drinks ready for each of us at our spots. When it was almost time for toasts, champagne magically appeared at our table. At the end of the night, we returned to our room (we stayed on site) to find pizza (my favorite food!) waiting for us, our leftover cake, a packed leftover entree, and champagne! Now, we managed to eat all of our delicious food during the reception, but I was still hungry afterwards and so grateful for the pizza! A lot of this is owed to Thom who coordinated the service that night. He was everywhere that night and seeing to it that everything went smoothly. At the end of the night, they packed everything up for us and left it in our parlor room for us to pick up the next day (I hear some places make you take everything home the night of!!). Your vendors will make your event! Once the day starts, it's basically all on them! Our day was a fairy tale wedding largely thanks to the excellent service at the Athletic Club. Again, I really can not say enough good things about our experience here. If you want an elegant, romantic venue, this is your place!

I can not say enough about The Athletic Club of Columbus and Lisa Sullivan!! My daughter and son in law were married at The Athletic Club of Columbus on New Years Eve 2018 and from our very first meeting with Lisa Sullivan and her staff at ACC, everything was amazing. The ACC is the perfect venue if you want an elegant timeless event with a staff that is very attentive! On the morning of the wedding, we found out close family friends would not be able to attend the wedding due to a family emergency. The staff at ACC very graciously was able to remove the table and rearrange the seating for the other guests at the table .At the last minute, the dear friends informed us that they would be able to attend the wedding after all and the staff at ACC- without hesitation set up another table for these very special family friends!! All throughout the evening, the staff was checking to see if there was anything we needed. The ACC made my daughter and son in laws wedding a dream come true!I highly recommend the ACC for a wedding.

On the morning of the wedding, we found out close family friends would not be able to attend the wedding due to a family emergency. The staff at ACC very graciously was able to remove the table and rearrange the seating for the other guests at the table .At the last minute, the dear friends informed us that they would be able to attend the wedding after all and the staff at ACC- without hesitation set up another table for these very special family friends!! All throughout the evening, the staff was checking to see if there was anything we needed. The ACC made my daughter and son in laws wedding a dream come true!I highly recommend the ACC for a wedding.

I would highly recommend this lovely place. We worked with Lisa and she was a delight. Things went so smoothly, I actually had a fear that I had forgotten something but no! Everything was just that smooth. We even had my elderly mother and mother in law, stay in one of the hotel rooms upstairs. And they were well taken care of. The most complimented thing from the reception, was the food! It was excellent. Not an easy feat for 150 guests. We needed some vegan meals, and that was no problem. I highly recommend the ACC for your ceremony and reception.

It is absolutely breathtaking and the PERFECT venue for a romantic fairytale wedding for both the ceremony, reception, and not to mention the after party in the bowling alley!Every detail of our wedding was planned around the natural beauty of The ACC- from my dress and the bridal party attire to the flowers and the band. It all came together absolutely perfectly to make our fairytale come to life!The staff at the ACC is the absolute best you could ever ask for. They worked with us for over 18 months, answering questions and giving suggestions on how to make our dreams come to life. Since we were planning our wedding from across the country, we did our tasting and finished all day-of details a year in advance, and the staff was essential in making sure those details came to life on our day of. They were patient with my type-A tendencies and my random \"go and see\" visits whenever I was visiting Columbus just to \"make sure everything was okay.\" They went above and beyond to make the entire wedding weekend relaxed and flawless- from the time we checked into our rooms on Thursday night with complimentary drinks from Thom to our getting ready mimosas and snack bar to the time we checked out on Sunday morning with all of our decorations and details organized and ready for pick up and everything between.The food was incredible. The drinks and bartenders were outstanding. The service and coordination kept everything on track. The space is outstanding. And we are still getting compliments from guests about how the entire wedding was as if it were straight from a magazine or movie! I could not have asked for a more perfect venue or staff for our most perfect day! There is no better place in Columbus for your fairytale wedding!

Just walking into the Athletic Club of Columbus you get the sense of what a top notch venue it is. Lisa Sullivan, the Event Manager, was amazing, as were the staff that assisted us. Lisa had so many good ideas and suggestions. She is kind, personable and made us feel at ease. Her attention to detail and deadlines kept us on track. The food was great and perfectly cooked, which is not expected at most weddings, and the bartenders, waiters and staff kept up with demand, we had 157 guests. The butler passed appetizers and wine at cocktail hour was a nice touch. Thom, the banquet manager made sure that I, as mother of the bride, did not want for anything the day of, and that everything ran smoothly. The dining room was so beautiful. The venue is just gorgeous, so it really saved on floral costs. You don't need a lot of decorations. It oozes charm and sophistication. The place speaks for itself. Our daughter and her friends stayed in the six suites they have and that's where we all had our hair and make up done. My daughter and son-in-law (did I just say son-in-law) chose The Athletic Club of Columbus after looking at 7 venues. What sold them, and me, was the the elegance and beauty of the club, AND the amazing bowling alley downstairs that we used for the after party. What a hit that was for our guests. Darrell, the bowling alley manager, was very attentive, personable and very helpful. They even provided a security guard to walk folks to their cars or hotels. Very thoughtful. Plus, you can get a block of hotel rooms within walking distance. I can't recommend The Athletic Club of Columbus more highly. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

AMAZING! We had our wedding here last weekend and everything was great!! We visited pretty much every venue in town that could hold over 200 people and this one stood out as the best by far! I was nervous about weather playing a factor in my day, and this venue was perfect! It was 90 degrees outside, so we had mostly lovely indoor pictures and then took some pretty outdoor pictures a few blocks away for only 10 mins. It worked out really well! The food was amazing (yes, I ate it all... I'm not one of those brides who eats nothing, haha) and so was the after party in the bowling alley. Only complaint is the coordinator changed half way through our wedding planning. As a result, everything we discussed with Emily needed to be re-discussed with Lisa. Don't get me wrong, Lisa was great, but we forgot to reiterate the importance of having IPAs at the wedding, and as a result, there were none. The dining manager went out of his way to find something for my husband to drink, but none of his groomsmen were able to have any. Despite this, everyone had a great time and everything was coordinated very well!

Our venue was amazing and beautiful. The space is so unique and magical. The staff was very helpful and made sure the wedding was everything we wanted rather than how they always do weddings. Couldn't be happier with our wedding! It's a one of a kind venue as it was large enough to hold the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception for our 165 guests. They also they had an awesome space for an after party and were very involved throughout rehearsal and event to ensure everything went smoothly.

From day one, she was so helpful in the planning process - helping us find many of our vendors and being willing to help in any way possible to bring our wedding vision to life. On the day of the wedding we couldnât have been more impressed with Emily and the rest of the staff. They took care of everything. We knew Emily was great, but she really shined on our wedding day. This review is well over due! My husband Zach and I held our wedding at this gorgeous facility on July 30, 2016. I honestly do not know where to begin to start raving about this place. She was an absolute dream to work with. She had an answer to every question. Communicating back and forth was effortless. She provided many suggestions that were so helpful and made the stress of planning a wedding almost disappear. A genuinely sweet girl - inside and out! This review is well over due! My husband Zach and I held our wedding at this gorgeous facility on July 30, 2016. I honestly do not know where to begin to start raving about this place. First thing is first -- to the eye, it is stunning. It posses rich, historic architecture that is just jaw dropping and makes for fantastic photos. Secondly, the lady who made it all happen... EMILY! She was an absolute dream to work with. She had an answer to every question. Communicating back and forth was effortless. She provided many suggestions that were so helpful and made the stress of planning a wedding almost disappear. A genuinely sweet girl - inside and out! The entire staff the day of were over the top when it came to accommodations and taking care of anything and everything that we needed. My family has been members at the ACC for years. The venue is absolutely beautiful - an instant classic! Very little really needs to be done to the space, which makes it even more effortless to host a wedding or event here. We worked with Emily, their wedding coordinator, and she was great! She walked us through every step and detail. She was extremely attentive and answered any and all questions. She was also very detailed orientated, which was very important to us. All of our guests raved about the space as well as the high quality of the food. Everything was truly delicious! I highly recommend the ACC to anyone who is looking for a classic and traditional wedding venue. You will not be disappointed with the space or the staff!

We had our ceremony, reception and after-party at the ACC and everything went flawlessly. There were ZERO surprises the day of the wedding. Emily was so helpful, friendly, and flexible throughout the entire planning process! My family is from New York and have really high expectations when it comes to weddings. Since they were traveling so far I wanted a full-service venue that would really wow my guests and make things easy for them. The ACC's classic romantic decor, high-quality service, and excellent food options had my entire family raving. We had a smaller wedding with about 85 people so we were able to use the crystal room for our ceremony and the lounge for our reception. There was also plenty of room for mashed potato bar, photo booth, Lego bar, and stationed appetizers. The ACC also arranged to have our favorite hard cider and a specialty cocktail. We ended the night with an after-party in the Booth, the ACC's private bowling alley and club. I would also recommend reserving the guest rooms on-site at the ACC. It was so convenient to be able to get ready on-site and run up to our room anytime we needed something. Everything was perfect!

I fell in love with the Columbus Athletic Club the moment we stepped through the revolving door! Itâs old-world elegance and sophistication takes one back to a time of black ties and long tails, flowing dresses and white gloves. Dark green marble floors and deep red Persian rugs greet you upon entrance, while the oak and marble curved stairway lead you to the ballroom and dining rooms on the second floor. The ceiling in the ballroom is an intricate design of carved wood ornately painted in contrasting colors, while the floor is a beautifully designed wood parquet - perfect for dancing! The windows are two stories tall and dressed with brocade-like ivory drapes, while crystal chandeliers hang throughout like stars. It was the perfect setting for our daughterâs wedding! The event was overseen by Emily Knapp, the ACCâs hidden treasure. From day one, Emily guided us through all the details and helped us in ways too numerous to count. She was cheerful and energetic, infusing life into a club that could have been considered âstuffyâ were it not for her attentions to detail. The food was melt-in-your mouth wonderful as well. We had the duet of salmon/filet along with mashed potatoes and fresh baby broccoli, as well as numerous hot/cold hors dâoeuvres during the cocktail reception and late night snack. Many guests came to us afterward and said it was the best food theyâd ever been served at a wedding! The wait staff was attentive and kept things flowing smoothly. The entire night was magical! I would definitely recommend the Columbus Athletic Club to any bride looking for that perfect place for her wedding reception.

From Bride:\rMy husband and I chose the ACC for our venue just about the instant we walked upstairs and saw the beautiful carved wood ceilings in the ballroom. If you are looking for traditional, old world beauty, this place cannot be beat. The staff was also wonderful, and the ACC truly has a gem in Emily Knapp as an event planner. Her cheerful demeanor made every meeting a joy. She is also extremely knowledgeable and competent, asking me questions and prompting me on things I had completely forgotten to consider in the haze of wedding planning. She kept us on track during the planning process and the day of the wedding. I also have received numerous compliments that the food was the best wedding food our guests have ever tasted. We chose the steak and salmon duet, and several people commented on how well the steak tasted and melted in their mouth. We feel completely blessed to have been able to have the ACC as our venue, and the pictures show how beautiful the night was. Most importantly though, we all had FUN. I was able to really enjoy my night thanks to how smoothly everything was run at the ACC. I would highly recommend the ACC, and particularly Emily.\r

We held our wedding reception at the ACC on 4/18/15 and it was nothing short of amazing! We really were looking for an elegant/timeless reception venue and this is exactly what the Athletic Club provided. There has been some improvements made to the ACC recently (new carpet, new chair seat customs) that look great. Everything was ran very smoothly by Emily Knapp - who was also great to work with. The food was also fantastic (we served a duet of jumbo shrimp and beef short ribs). Highly recommend!

We held our wedding reception at the ACC on 4/18/15 and it was nothing short of amazing! We really were looking for an elegant/timeless reception venue and this is exactly what the Athletic Club provided. My husband and I cannot express in words how wonderful it was to work the staff at The Athletic Club! They certainly had a huge role in making our wedding reception/event perfect! My husband and I worked with Emily as our reception coordinator and she went above and beyond to make sure all loose ends were tied up and organized for our wedding! In our short engagement she made the planning seemingly effortless for my husband and I. We cannot thank the entire staff enough for such wonderful service and professionalism in their work. Our guests have been complimenting us for months on the how wonderful the staff was tending to needs with food, drinks, and especially the clean up afterwards! We would highly recommend having a wedding or reception in this venue. This place is very elegant and not much decorating needed if you choose. The staff was friendly, creative, patient, adaptive, organized, and reliable to get anything we needed done to make our day so special. If we had to do it all again my husband and I agree that we would certainly choose the Athletic Club for our venue again! Thank you for making our day so special!

My guests will not stop talking about how WONDERFUL the Athletic Club was! They were so impressed with the food, decor, alcohol selection, and most importantly the service! The continually tell me it is one of their favorite venues.\r\rI wanted a place that would help with decisions, set up and tear down and Emily and her staff delivered. They helped narrow down the stress of planning and took over whatever they could to help. They made sure I had what I wanted and needed - no matter the request! They even had a separate room set up for kids with dinner and games. They asked me my favorite drinks and snacks and made sure I had them throughout the night.\r\rEmily also worked with my OTHER vendors to make sure the whole day went smoothly. She coordinated pick up and drop off times and locations so I didn't have to. She even smoother out wrinkles without me knowing they existed.\r\rI do not know what I would have done without Emily and her staff. They went above and beyond my expectations and I couldn't have been more pleased!\r\rGO HERE!!

My husband and I live in Chicago and got married in Columbus, Ohio (my hometown) on December 29, 2012. The thought of planning a wedding from another city stressed me out more than anything else about getting marriedâ I didnât want to have to go back and forth to Columbus a million times to get everything in order, nor did I want to have to have my mom coordinate vendors when I couldnât be there myself. I also didnât want to make my life more chaotic as I planned to get married. After looking at several spots in Columbus where we would have had to coordinate various vendors for tables, chairs, music, food and beverages, we stopped by the Athletic Club of Columbus. We booked the spot within a week of visiting. Kelly C. (the event coordinator) made me and my fiance feel entirely confident that she had everything covered even though we were states away. We came home to Columbus once between booking and the wedding itself for a food/wine tasting, but the ACC staff had everything else (and I mean everything else) under control. They even gave us some fun suggestions to spice up our weddingâlike giving guests a glass of champagne when they entered and having our officiant (my younger brother) give a toast during the ceremony. Everything was coordinated by email and phone, and when we arrived at the ACC on the day of the wedding, everything was exactly as we wanted it to be.\r\rWe did both our ceremony and reception at the ACC. The L-shape of the second floor (with a dividing door between the two rooms) allowed the ceremony room to transition seamlessly into a dance floor while guests were drinking cocktails and eating appetizers in the lobbyâno one had any idea that chairs were being moved from the ceremony room into the dining room behind them. The staff was nothing but professional, and I was entirely confident in them. It was such a relief to not feel stressed on my wedding day because I knew I was in good hands. Kelly fielded a million phone calls from me and my mom the week before the wedding (also the week of Christmas) and took responsibility for making sure our florist and band had everything set up on time. She didnât complain or make a fuss about us adding four additional guests to the wedding the day before either. Kelly made me feel like my wedding was the most important thing on her agenda (even though ours was the second in a series of four weddings in a row at the ACC.)\r\rFinally, the rooms at the ACC looked amazing with very minimal decorating on our part. Due to the ornate ceiling decorations and âold timeâ feel of the venue itself (note: dark wood and mirrors), we spent LESS than anticipated on flowers. Candles and white lights added the perfect touch of romance to the roomâwe didnât need more than simple white flowers and greenery to create a glow in the space. As we planned, my mom headed over to the ACC on several occasions to make sure our brainstormed decorating ideas were going to work well, and the open-door policy at the ACC once again made us feel so comfortable planning a Columbus wedding from Chicago.\r\rKelly coordinated the ceremony perfectly; she was with me from the moment I arrived on site and explained how the evening would go in full detail. She ushered me from place to place to remain out of site of guests and got the crowd settled for the ceremony to begin on time. I highly recommend this venueâand Kelly in particular! Sheâs awesome at what she does and made me a very happy bride.

She ushered me from place to place to remain out of site of guests and got the crowd settled for the ceremony to begin on time. I highly recommend this venueâand Kelly in particular! Sheâs awesome at what she does and made me a very happy bride.

I had my wedding reception at the Athletic Club of Columbus October of this year and I cannot say enough good things about the venue, service and especially Kelly, who is the head of events at the ACC. From the very start they were willing to work with us to make sure we had and could do everything that was in our dream plans. We were never met with anything but quick and pleasant responses to any of our questions before the big day, which is so important when you are already feeling stressed. The Athletic Clubs' entire staff made sure that myself and my fiance had everything we needed the entire night, from perfect food and comfortable room temperature to a consistent drink in our hands. They were genuinely nice and I do not have any complaints about the venue. I would recommend them for anyone and the best part is that it is already so beautiful that you do not need much decor. They not only set everything up for us but they tore it down so that none of my family had to gather things up at the end of the evening. I am so happy that we chose this as our reception venue and cannot wait to see all of our pictures from the evening!

We held our wedding reception at the Athletic Club in October 2013 and couldn't have been more pleased!\r\rThe venue is gorgeous - 1920s elegance (beautiful hardwood parquet floors, chandeliers, ornate craftsman ceilings), the food is amazing and the service is even better. The place is gorgeous without being stuffy. It's more interesting than a hotel ballroom, and more romantic than the modern venues in town. It's such a gorgeous venue, that you can go either over-the-top or very simple with your floral arrangements and miscellaneous décor.\r\rACC is also full service as far as set-up/tear-down, linens, catering and wait staff. Surprisingly, it's one the most affordable deals in Columbus. ACC staff personally carried our wedding gifts to our hotel next door (The Renaissance) at the end of the night, which was amazing.\r\rThe food was amazing both as the tasting I attended and the day off. I thought I might have had skewed perception due to my bridal \"high,\" but many guests commented on it as well. ACC had a private bar with apps set aside for the bridal party before out reception introductions. \r\rI cannot say enough good things about Kelly Freeman, the Director of Private Events. I was planning my wedding on a short timeline from out of state and only had a chance to meet with Ms. Freeman in person once prior to the wedding weekend. She was so responsive and helpful via email during the whole process and provided great guidance and options when asked without being remotely pushy. We had our reception at the Athletic Club of Columbus this past April. From the minute I saw the pictures of this venue online, I knew I wanted my wedding here. The inside is beautiful and it has a great reputation throughout the Columbus area. I worked with both Kelly and Kristin, but mostly Kelly throughout the wedding planning process. She was wonderful to work with and one of the easiest people to communicate with throughout the planning process. I had a million questions and she quickly answered all of them without making me feel as if I was bugging her. I loved that we had a private food tasting, including appetizers and wine, and yes all the food did turn out just as great the day of the wedding as it did during our tasting. It was also so nice that the wedding party had our own mini cocktail hour setup downstairs so we were actually able to eat the appetizers and cocktails that we so carefully picked out! We received so many compliments on the food (steak that was actually cooked medium and chicken that wasn't bone dry), appetizers, and service throughout the night. No request was too big for this venue. We dropped off all items a few days before the wedding and they set up EVERYTHING exactly as discussed. I became a nervous bride a few weeks before the wedding and was able to fit in a few extra meetings with Kelly to talk through the day. I really cannot recommend this venue enough. From the way they handled the preparation stage to the very end of the night (when a server from the ACC ran the top of our cake over to the hotel so we would not forget it) everything was flawless. Our guests were treated wonderfully and the night was amazing!

We chose the ACC for its beauty and the size was perfect for our guests. The dance floor was the perfect size for our 170 person wedding. I sent an email at about 6am the day of the wedding and I got an email back shortly after from the wedding coordinator letting me know that they would take care of everything. I had so much piece of mind going with the ACC. Absolutely worth the money!!

The ACC is a gorgeous venue for a wedding reception - it is undeniably one of the most beautiful venues in Columbus! The coordinators are great to work with, respond very quickly to emails and are receptive to dietary considerations (gluten, vegan, etc). It is, however, an expensive venue with a $10,000 food/drink minimum. There is no need for additional decorations - they even have standard centerpiece vases/mirrors/candles (but you can bring in your own flowers + vases) and table numbers. They also have a library downstairs for the wedding party to rest for a bit before making a grand entrance at dinner where they can serve hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The building is full of great places for indoor pictures. And lastly, the steak is delicious (people are still talking about it).

Everything about the Athletic Club was perfect for my wedding. \rFrom the start, our Event Coordinator Kelly C. was the BEST. So easygoing, flexible, knowledgeable, responsive and super fun and nice. I'm pretty sure the number of emails we exchanged reaches the thousands. \rThe building itself is gorgeous. Immaculately maintained and regal- so very fancy! It worked perfectly with our costume party reception. \rThe event night staff were incredibly courteous and helpful- their enthusiasm for my event was so encouraging and infectious. Everyone was personable and willing to help with any and everything we asked, and we asked A LOT. Lots of little details- but the staff executed everything perfectly. \rThere are hotel rooms available for the \"getting ready\" period and that was extremely convenient. Parking was easy with the ACC parking lot and valet was available for my wedding night. \rWe had our rehearsal dinner in the basement bowling alley which was super fun- a nice departure from the traditional dinner at a fancy restaurant. \rIf I could go back in time and pick a different place for my special day, I wouldn't- it was perfect in every way.

We could not be happier with our experience at the Athletic Club of Columbus. We worked with Kelly who was an absolute pleasure. After looking at several venues in the Columbus area, my fiance and I decided to look at the Athletic Club and we both loved it instantly. It was so beautiful and elegant, we knew our wedding would be perfect! From the start Kristin and Kelly were amazing, they walked us through the whole process, whatever we needed they would get! They were so professional, and knew exactly how to do everything from start to finish. On the actual wedding day, they started early making sure all the vendors were taken care of and provided them anything they needed. They gave us rooms to get ready in, and hang out before the wedding, and made sure everyone was always where they needed to be. They made sure every little detail was taken care of. To say they were perfectionists would be an understatement, they truly meant for the day to be absolutely perfect and because of them it was. The whole venue was absolutely phenomenal, all of the staff were so polite and would have done anything to make the day better for us or our guests. The food was delicious, we received compliments all night long. You would have never guessed you were eating wedding food, because it seemed personalized from a gourmet restaurant. They cleaned up everything and put it in our room we stayed in, and then helped us carry things out the next morning. A downtown wedding can seen daunting, but from the service, to the valet, and just the sheer magnificence of the whole night, no one complained and people are still raving about the experience. Some guests at the wedding are even having family members look into having their wedding there. As the title states, the whole day was truly beyond all my expectations, I would highly recommend any bride get married here. You wont be disappointed!

Everything was perfect! Thanks to Kristen, Kelly and staff. I can't speak highly enough about the professional, yet personal way we were treated. The attention to detail, high quality of food, and the wonderful staff at The Columbus Athletic Club more than exceeded my expectations. It was an amazing day.

My wedding reception was at The Athletic Club of Columbus and it was simply perfection. Kristin and Kelly did the most amazing job, they walked me through everything, and made sure every detail was discussed, confirmed and was exactly what I wanted. I would not have changed a thing and I could not be more happy with how everything turned out.
