Charming, Historic House with Spacious Grounds

A picturesque home with a storied past, The Banker’s House is an elegant wedding venue nestled in Shelby, NC. The building is constructed in a Second-Empire style with a yellow facade framed by ornate detailing around the windows and roof. The stately home creates a storybook setting for lovebirds to bring together family and friends as they celebrate their “I dos.” The Banker’s House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was built in 1875. It was designed by the well-known architect G.S. H. Applegate. The president of the First National Bank, George Blanton, and his wife, Nancy, lived in the home between 1937 and 2006. Their three daughters were enthusiastic about horses. A barn sits on the property that housed their beloved animals, which was initially constructed in 1911. Before the festivities begin, you and your wedding party can get ready in the dressing rooms at The Banker's House. Smaller weddings, as well as showers, can also be held inside the home. Then, you can walk down the aisle on the expansive lawn or along the paved walkways located on the grounds. Once your vows have been exchanged, the celebrations can continue in the barn. This antique space has been remodeled to meet contemporary standards while still possessing a rustic charm. It is suited to receptions but also rehearsal dinners and ceremonies.
