A quick 12 minute drive from State Line Road, The Barn at Riverbend is a hidden gem for the Kansas City couple. The Barn sits on 20 acres, with sweeping fields of Queen Anne's Lace flowers, towering shady oak trees, and the clearest view of the night sky. With a Bridal Suite tucked into the loft of the Barn, a Groom's Cabin overlooking the meandering river, the picturesque white barn and our ceremony hillside. We have transformed this property to be all that you could dream of for your special day. *Now open for tours and booking for 2023 and 2024! ***Open from the FIRST WEEKEND in May through the FIRST WEEKEND in November each year for tours***

Exceptional service by this venue. The owners are very sweet and reflect how warm and inviting the property is. The venue itself has much to offer- it is beautiful and has many thoughtful touches in design incorporated throughout. Desiree as the direct contact for communications through the planning process kept everything moving smoothly and responded to email questions or requested changes promptly. I knew immediately from our initial tour date this venue was special and would take good care of us and they did not disappoint.

Before our wedding, my schedule was quite chaotic, but the staff worked with me to make sure I could do my final walkthrough and assured me everything would work out. I would highly recommend this venue!! My husband and I had our wedding back in September at The Barn and they made the day so incredibly special. Desiree with the venue was so helpful throughout the whole entire process of planning, she responded to everything very timely and answered the hundred of questions that were rattling through my brain. The owners are just as lovely as well. The Barns entire staff makes you feel at home and gives you that peace of mind you definitely want on your wedding day.

The Barn at Riverbend is truly magical. We got married here in June 2023 and it was perfect. Desiree, Kris, and the entire staff was absolutely amazing to work with during the entire process and day of. They were extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. All of our guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue was and liked how they got to experience different parts of the property for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The space is so beautiful we only had to do minimal decorations. The day exceeded our expectations and we wish we could re-live it again! The Barn at Riverbend is so unique in the KC area and we would highly recommend to any future couple.

We got married at the Barn at Riverbend this past month and It was the best decision we made for our wedding!! We really wanted an outdoor wedding that didn't have overwhelming \"farm\" vibes. This venue really hits the head on the nail. We didn't do any decorating outside of florals because the natural setting was just so perfect. Everyone keeps remarking that our wedding truly looked like something out of a fairy tale. The wood tables and decor that the venue does already provide feels so authentic. I wouldn't change a thing about how the venue looks. Desiree and the owners were also so accommodating with all our ideas. They didn't blink an eye when we said we wanted to do something a little different and have karaoke instead of the typical dance party at our reception. They even offered our guests complimentary coffee service when the temperature dropped 40 degrees two days before and allowed us to switch our signature drink to a hot toddy. Our day of coordinator had never worked a wedding here before, but was so incredibly impressed with how professional the owners and venue coordinator were. Everything could not have run more smoothly. Even though It was cold, everything was still so perfect. Please - RUN, don't walk to sign a contract here.

We couldn't have been happier with the Barn at Riverbend as our venue. The setting itself is absolutely STUNNING and it really speaks for itself. Even though it was a 100 degree day, they made sure to make everything go as smoothly as possible and made sure to take all of our requests into consideration when planning. I would definitely recommend Hannah Wilson as a coordinator as she does many weddings at this venue. It was so worth it to have a stress free day and she went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect!

We absolutely loved working with the Barn at Riverbend. The entire property is so beautiful, romantic, and intimate. We fell in love from our first tour. The owners and venue manager were wonderful to work with, always responding quickly to any questions and helping to make the entire wedding process easier. We ended up having to move our ceremony indoors because of rain, but the indoor space is just as magical as the outdoor space. After the rain cleared, our guests loved walking around the property whether they were taking a dance break by the fire pit or enjoying the twinkle lights at the ceremony and cocktail space. The venue includes so many amazing features like the bridal suite and man cave or the gorgeous wood tables. The Barn at Riverbend exceeded all of our expectations and we cannot recommend it enough!

This was the first venue we went and toured and it had my heart from the beginning. I could not have imagined getting married anywhere else! Such a beautiful property and so many possibilities on what you can do to customize for what you are needing on your wedding day. We worked with Desiree throughout our year and a half engagement and she made everything so easy. Our guests could not stop telling us how amazing the Barn was and how lucky we were to have found it. We live in a different state, so we were unsure about a lot of things, but Desiree helped set our minds at ease. When my now wife and I were searching for wedding venues in the autumn of 2019, The Barn at River Bend was the first venue we visited. As it turns out, we did not even need to view any others. After touring the site, we knew that we did not want our wedding to be anywhere else than The Barn. The photographs do not do justice to how beautiful the venue is. From the reception area overlooking the river to the rustic groomsmen cabin to the ceremony site nestled gently beneath the trees, there is no part of The Barn that is not breathtaking. We were fortunate to have a perfectly sunny day for our wedding, and our family members and guests could not stop complementing how lovely and peaceful everything seemed. But as much as The Barn itself contributed to our ideal wedding experience, that experience would not have been possible without the amazing staff at the Barn. Kris, the owner, was so gracious and helpful during our walkthrough. Jon, the DJ who works with The Barn, met with us multiple times to craft our music playlist and set a timeline for the reception. The reception and dancing would not have gone as well as they did without Jon's help. And finally, Desiree, the Venue Manger for the Barn, was great to work with. She helped us every step of the way, answering all of our questions and generally helping us stay calm during the whole process. We very much appreciated her attention to detail. In short, we give The Barn at River Bend our highest recommendation. If you are looking for a special, even magical, wedding experience, then there is no venue in the Kansas City area that can compete with The Barn.

When our hotel venue cancelled 10 days before the wedding due to new Covid restrictions, The Barn at Riverbend reopened their already-winterized venue, on November 28th 2020, and hosted our wedding! The owners are amazingly kind and helpful, and we were deeply grateful. With lots of heaters, a lot of help, and LOTS of prayers for a warmish day, we had a beautiful outdoor \"Covid-safe\" wedding. We will never forget their kindness! It's a gorgeous place to get married, even when there are no leaves on the trees. Highly recommended!

From the tranquil, picturesque setting of the ceremony site to the grand and glorious barn, The Barn At Riverbend is the perfect environment for an outdoor wedding. Every inch of the terrain is immaculate. The owners are some of the most gracious, hospitable, authentic people I've ever had the privilege to meet. Ever! These same superb attributes filter down to their second-to-none staff. The entire crew is incredibly professional, kindhearted and courteous. This venue is well known and respected by fellow vendors. Each one working together as a team to execute the perfect experience. We were honored that our daughter & son-in-love's wedding was the first event of this 2020 wedding season following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in our area. There was much excitement in the air as well as a sense of relief. The Barn was diligent in taking extra measures to ensure sanitation and cleanliness while also adhering to the stipulations still in place. Even under the veil of these turbulent and uncertain times the staff displayed true selflessness! They were laser focused in their attention to detail and in meeting our needs. This took a great amount of courage! Our happy couple and their entire wedding party were treated like royalty. Each of our guestfelt right at home. There was such a sense of peace that resonated throughout the entire event. It was my observation that upon leaving the venue many of our guests burdens seemed lighter. This should be an encouragement both to the owners and staff of The Barn at Riverbend to know that through your excellent service you are helping to make the world a better place one beautiful wedding at a time! All that you do is done with such integrity and grace. One final thought: I'd like to personally give a huge shout out to Desiree, Anna and Mrs Chris. I so enjoyed working with each of you! I am so grateful that our paths crossed. Each of you are such a blessing. From the tranquil, picturesque setting of the ceremony site to the grand and glorious barn, The Barn At Riverbend is the perfect environment for an outdoor wedding. Every inch of the terrain is immaculate. The owners are some of the most gracious, hospitable, authentic people I've ever had the privilege to meet. Ever! These same superb attributes filter down to their second-to-none staff. The entire crew is incredibly professional, kindhearted and courteous. This venue is well known and respected by fellow vendors. Each one working together as a team to execute the perfect experience. We were honored that our daughter & son-in-love's wedding was the first event of this 2020 wedding season following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in our area. There was much excitement in the air as well as a sense of relief. The Barn was diligent in taking extra measures to ensure sanitation and cleanliness while also adhering to the stipulations still in place. Even under the veil of these turbulent and uncertain times the staff displayed true selflessness! They were laser focused in their attention to detail and in meeting our needs. This took a great amount of courage! Our happy couple and their entire wedding party were treated like royalty. Each of our guestfelt right at home. There was such a sense of peace that resonated throughout the entire event. It was my observation that upon leaving the venue many of our guests burdens seemed lighter. This should be an encouragement both to the owners and staff of The Barn at Riverbend to know that through your excellent service you are helping to make the world a better place one beautiful wedding at a time! This venue is amazing! The venue and space is jaw-dropping! Our guests loved the venue and thought it was beautiful and everyone asked how we found it. I love that it is secluded. It is a hidden jewel outside the metro. I love how you can see a flowing river and there is space to walk around. The bridal suite is so special for the girls to ready and have fun. The groomâs cabin is a great space for the guys! All the people who work there were so helpful and made us feel so special! I would recommend this venue to anyone! It was so beautiful!

My now husband and I toured The Barn after getting a recommendation from another vendor and as soon as we pulled up I knew it was the place I wanted to get married! The venue and the surrounding views are breathtaking. The Barn, covered reception area, bridal suite, groom's cabin, and ceremony spot just have a certain charm that is unmatched. The amazing venue was one thing but the hospitality provided by Kris and Regan were on another level! Regan and the rest of her team were so accommodating and were an integral part of making the day go as smoothly as it did! I cannot say enough good things about this place and these people!

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better day nor a better venue. This place was truly magical, Kris and her Husband have thought of it all when putting this place together. I still remember when we first came across this venue in 2018 at there first open house. We remember pulling up and my husband and I looking at each other and just instantly knowing this was going to be the place where we start our forever at. Its so naturally decorated that adding anything else bedsides floral would be silly. From the twinkling lights to the beautiful white barn this place is the best. Kris and her husband not only have an incredible venue but they also have an amazing team. We worked personally with Regan and she went above and beyond for us. I never felt more calm during this whole wedding process because our wedding was in great hands thanks to Regan and my wedding planner. This venue is beyond beautiful and the space truly captured my husband and I's style. I promise when you see this place you'll understand why we chose this venue. When I first saw a video of this place I knew I wanted to get married there! This quaint and peaceful venue is absolutely stunning!!! It's so beautiful that you barely have to decorate, which is a major plus! From start to finish, our experience was wonderful. Not only is the venue amazing but the staff was incredible as well. They were super helpful and made everything work to meet our needs! I couldn't have asked for anything more. Our daughter was recently married at this beautiful venue. The owners have thought of everything when it came to views, seating, landscaping and decor. The bridal area for getting ready and the grooms cabin was charming! The ceremony was suppose to be outside with seating under their beautiful trees. We were worried because the weather report predicted storms the night of the wedding. We were quickly put at ease because the owners have a great back up plan to move the ceremony inside. Kip, Kris and the Team were absolutely amazing. They worked tirelessly and with joy to make sure every detail of our day went off without a hitch. They thought of details we hadnât considered which proved to be game changers. Every detail has been executed with excellence. Even our photographer commented on how amazing the lighting was in the bridal suit and how there were so many great locations on site for pictures - we actually ran out of time because he had so many different shots he wanted to get! While we were greeting our guest at the reception, we came back to our seats with our dinner waiting for us and a glass of champagne & beer to accompany it. We felt so cared for and loved the entire day and had zero anxiety about the details. I highly recommend this location and this team!

Even our photographer commented on how amazing the lighting was in the bridal suit and how there were so many great locations on site for pictures - we actually ran out of time because he had so many different shots he wanted to get! While we were greeting our guest at the reception, we came back to our seats with our dinner waiting for us and a glass of champagne & beer to accompany it. We felt so cared for and loved the entire day and had zero anxiety about the details. I highly recommend this location and this team!

I could not have asked for a more beautiful location for our wedding! The slopping green hills, fields and woods made such a gorgeous backdrop for our outdoor ceremony and photos! The white barn is fabulous! The owners were really easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. So many of our guests told me they have never been to a wedding in a more beautiful location. It is seriously such a cool venue!

The team created such a calm, joy filled atmosphere for my daughters wedding. I would highly recommend this venue. It was truly delightful and any questions that arose was answered efficiently. They worked that day tirelessly and behind the scenes. What a delight they were to work with and added so much to Jessica's most precious day! Many memories were made and friends for life! My husband and I recently got married at The Barn at Riverbend. This venue far surpassed any expectations that we couldâve possibly had. They truly did a magnificent job. The people who own and run the venue are just as wonderful too, which makes all the difference. It rained on our wedding day which couldâve been disastrous, but the team at the venue still managed to help make our day perfect!! We didnât have to worry about a thing. One of the best things about this venue is its natural beauty and all of the small details - no need to haul in a bunch of decorations. Not to mention the ceremony site which is so unique and just breathtaking - it was made for the hillside it sits on. I canât tell you how many of our guests repeated, âhow did you find this place?!â Iâm so pleased with how our day turned out and wouldnât have changed a thing about it (even the rain ;) ).

Like the bridal suite and groomâs cabin. There is attention to detail throughout the location. It is not a cookie cutter wedding factory, but a place to remember. The ceremony happened in a magical and whimsical spot. All of these things made the special day so memorable. The owners and staff went above and beyond! Loved it!!!

I cannot recommend this venue enough. Everything from th venue, Kip and Kris to their entire staff made our day absolutely perfect. The attention to detail taken in all areas is amazing....the bridal suite was a great space to get ready in and to have downtime in later in the day, the views canât be beat! Everyone was so helpful and accommodating all day and after a ring bearer sign snafu a new one showed up seconds later. If there were any issues we had no idea. We are so happy that we got to be the first and canât wait to see all those that come after us! One thing I know for sure is you wonât be disappointed if you choose the barn!!

Kip & Kris Unruh (Owner) The Barn at Riverbend is our family home, and has been for more than 20 years. We raised our 6 children here, and even celebrated the weddings of our 3 daughters! Now that they've gone on to tell their own stories (and give us 16 grandbabies and counting!) we want to share our little corner of the world with you.
