The Barns at Nappanee, Home of Amish Acres Reviews
Angie Pletcher(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2022 We had our wedding at The Barns in Nappanee in late October. It was beyond Perfect! We had originally planned to get married on Fort Myers Beach, but Hurricane Ian hit and destoyed our venue. We then decided to move everything to our home state and chose The Barns. From the date we picked the venue to the actaul ceremony was 23 days! Stacey, the event coordinator, and her team are amazing! She helped us every step of the way. There is no way we could have pulled off the beautiful wedding we did in that amount of time without her!We did our ceremony in The Garrett and the reception in The Grand Hall and both were perfect. The food was delicious. The waitstaff and bar staff were fantastic. And the grounds are beyond beautiful!Highly Recommend! Reviewed on 14-11-2022
Cassandra K(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-05-2021 Jacyln was AMAZING with every single thing along the way. We had to change venues a few months before the wedding and she was nothing but helpful and kind. She responded to every question quickly and was so willing to help. The whole staff at The Barns made our day even better. We had so many compliments on the food that people said they wish they would have gotten seconds. We appreciate The Barns staff so much for everything they did for us! Our wedding ceremony was in the Garrett and our reception was in the main dining hall and it was BEAUTIFUL. I could not have imagined a better wedding. Jaclyn and Colleen made sure the day of was coordinated and there were no hitches along the way at all. If you are planning a wedding check out this location and meet with Jaclyn! Reviewed on 28-05-2021
Katie Hawk(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-05-2019 The venue was beautiful, we loved everything about it and it was affordable. The problem we had was the wedding coordinators and manager. We went through 3 coordinators and came to find out that the last one was not a coordinator but a manager and she was the worst of them all. We had to go in to the Amish acres offices whenever we wanted an answer on something because our “coordinator” refused to respond to our emails or answer our voicemails. Our contract stated that we had to have our total paid in full 10 days before our wedding. We went into the offices and waited a half hour for her to show up and then she had to go write up our final cost.. If we wouldn’t have gone in and pursued our request they could have cancelled our wedding all together. I would not say choosing Amish Acres is a bad decision, the food was good and the venue barely needs decorated, however if you do choose it be aware that you will have to do the work the “coordinator” should be doing. Sarah Shell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2018 One word: SPECTACULAR! Amish Acres created the most magical night for our wedding. From the very start, the staff was professional, friendly, approachable, and flexible. The historic barn has so much personality but with all the modern amenities. The food was delicious, hot, and plentiful. The staff served all of our guests efficiently. We loved the courtyard area and the beautifully lighted trees. Our out of town guests loved the Inn at Amish Acres and appreciated the convenience of it being within walking distance. We could not have been happier with the elegant reception and our guests are still raving about it! Reviewed on 09-10-2018
laura bolsega(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-04-2018 AMISH ACRES WAS THE PERFECT BARN VENUE. IT IS OLD, RUSTIC AND BEAUTIFUL. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING AND THE SERVERS THAT DAY WERE FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO HELP. BUT LET ME TELL YOU THE BAD. WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT WHEN WE WERE FIRST LOOKING AT THE VENUE AND WE ENDED UP WALKING AROUND AND RINGING A DOORBELL CONSTANTLY BECAUSE NO ONE WAS TO BE FOUND. AND WHEN WE WERE BEING SHOWN THE VENUE, BECKY WAS USELESS ABOUT SELLING THE PLACE. VERY MONOTONE AND NON INTERESTED. SEEMED LIKE SHE WAS MORE BOTHERED THAT SHE HAD TO SHOW ANOTHER COUPLE THE PLACE. BECKY:GOOD LUCK GETTING A HOLD OF HER. SHE ALSO SAID WE COULD USE AN IPAD FOR THE SLIDESHOW, COME THE WEDDING DAY, IT WASNT EVEN A POSSIBILITY. IF IT WASNT FOR THE 2 MEN WORKING IN THE OFFICE THAT DROVE AN HOUR AWAY FOR THE CORRECT CORD, IT WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED. BECKY HAD LIMITED CONTACT THROUGHOUT THE FEW MONTHS LEADING UP TO THE WEDDING. SHE WAS ALSO NO WHERE TO BE FOUND ON OUR WEDDING DAY AND WE WERE PLACED WITH ANOTHER YOUNG LADY WHICH EVEN AFTER REHEARSAL, ON THE WEDDING DAY, SENT THE GROOM AND OFFICIANT ON STAGE TOO SOON. AND THEN PER MY FATHER AND BROTHER WAS TICKED OFF AT ME, THE BRIDE, BECAUSE THE BRIDAL PARTY WAS RUNNING LATE TO THE CEREMONY. THIS PLACE WAS PAID THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND SHES MAD AT ME AND MY PARTY FOR RUNNING LATE, AFTER MESSING UP AND SENDING THE GROOM AND OFFICIANT? THE TIMES FOR THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION ARE RIDICULOUS. THE CEREMONY IS AT 530, AND YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ASSESS TO THE ROUND BARN AT 5. SO THAT IS A 1/2 HOUR TO DECORATE. AS FOR THE RECEPTION, IT MUST END BY 11 AND EVERYTHING MUST BE CLEARED OUT OF THE HALL BY 1130, OR ELSE YOU GET CHARGED. EVEN BEFORE THE RECEPTION WAS OVER MY FAMILY AND BRIDAL PARTY STARTED TO CLEAN SO WE WOULDN'T GET CHARGED. WE WANTED OUR WEDDING AT A VENUE SO OUR PARENTS AND FRIENDS COULD ENJOY THEMSELVES AND INSTEAD THEY WERE CLEANING. ONE OF OUR GROOMSMEN FORGOT THE CEREMONY DECORATIONS AND AFTER TRYING TO CALL AND EMAIL BECKY, I FINALLY GOT A HOLD OF THE MAN IN THE OFFICE AND THEY SAID SOMEONE HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET AHOLD OF US. I DONT KNOW WHO AS WE HAVE NO EMAILS OR CALLS FROM ANYONE AT THIS VENUE. ALSO, IT SAYS NOTHING IN THE BROCHURE ABOUT THE HORSE/CARRIAGE RIDE COSTING MONEY BUT WE WERE CHARGED $75. WE ALSO DID NOT RECEIVE THE \"GOODIES FOR BRIDE AND GROOM\" THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE IN THE ROOM. IT WAS ALSO ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING TO NOT GET A SEATING ARRANGEMENT UNTIL ONE WEEK PRIOR. THE RESERVED TABLES THAT WE HAD FOR THE PARENTS AND IMMEDIATE FAMILY, ONE WAS IN FRONT OF THE BRIDAL TABLE, ONE WAS BEHIND THAT ONE AND THE OTHER ONE WAS AGAINST THE WALL. WHEN I ASKED BECKY IF WE COULD RE-ARRANGE THOSE TABLES SO THEY WERE CLOSER TO THE BRIDAL TABLE, I GOT A CRAPPY HOW DO YOU WANT THEM RESPONSE. THE VENUE ITSELF IS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING, BUT IT NEEDS TO FIND BETTER \"WEDDING STAFF\".I GIVE THE VENUE 2 STARS BECAUSE OF THE 2 FEMALE THEY HAVE ON STAFF FOR THE WEDDING. MY HUSBAND ALSO JUST GOT BACK FROM PICKING UP OUR CEREMONY DECORATIONS, AND HALF OF IT IS MISSING. AT NO SURPRISE, I CANT GET AHOLD OF BECKY TO ASK IF THERE IS ANOTHER BOX SOMEHWERE. Shana Revere(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2012 Loved, loved, loved this venue. It was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was great to work with and answering all our questions leading up to the wedding. We had tons of guests tell us it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Beth VanDyk(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2011 This location was beautiful, and we wanted the 'barn' look for the reception. We had the ceremony in the round barn, and the setting was very intimate and perfect. Initially there was some scheduling conflict after signing the contract, however the coordinator and manager were very willing to work with me, and we were able to easily solve the issue. The wedding coordinator was on site the day of the wedding and provided some help organizing things, which was helpful. The barns were decorated beautifully, which meant I only had to add some basic table decorations, making decorating simple. Overall, I LOVED the location and the facility, and the wedding was amazing! Reviewed on 09-07-2011

Colette Pearce(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2011 The location was beautiful even though it rained. Food was excellent. Service for reception could have been better. It took awhile to get all the guest served - some tables waited for awhile to get their food. Reviewed on 03-07-2011
Katie Whetstone(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-08-2010 Basically, I the \"wedding planner\" that I didn't want, but had to have based on Amish Acres policy made planning my wedding miserable. She was rude, unprofessional, and made everything harder then necessary. Thankfully, despite her best efforts, my wedding reception went off without a hitch. \rThe only thing she did the day of was completely butcher the cake (in the name of cutting and serving it) Reviewed on 05-04-2011

Christy & Marlin Stutzman (Owner)
The Barns at Nappanee is literally part of the Stutzman’s personal love story! In fact, Marlin brought Christy to The Round Barn Theatre to see a production of “Annie Get Your Gun” the night he proposed to her in 1999. Christy loves to tell the story, and says, “It was a magical night, and it started at this magical place! To now own a piece of Indiana history and a magical piece of our own personal love story is such a dream!”
