The Big Room is conveniently located in a vibrant area of downtown Des Moines, close to many hotels, restaurants and attractions. The space is 4650 square feet featuring 12 foot high ceilings and an expansive, light-filled industrial environment with additional atrium and meeting room options. Depending on your seating style, the room accommodates 200-250 guests. The beauty of this space is that it can be transformed to reflect your unique style. Included in the rental for your wedding is a private room for the use of the bridal party and all tables and chairs. The space is yours from 9:00 am on the day of your wedding until 11:30 pm. The room is available for both ceremony and reception. The Tangerine Food Company is the exclusive provider of food and beverage. Information about menus and additional services is available at www.tangerinefoodco.com Mainframe Studios, a nonprofit organization providing permanent, affordable workspaces for artists of all disciplines, working to make Central Iowa’s art scene on the best in the nation. Many of the artists in the building offer photographic services, invitation and printing services, and more! We invite you to explore all the building has to offer.

We loved The Big Room! We were able to hold both our wedding and reception in the room, with the staff readying the room for the latter during a cocktail hour in the atrium. We were able to bring in beautiful decor that highlighted the fabulous windows in the room—a definite chic industrial vibe and our guests loved visiting the artist studios before festivities started. Tangerine’s catering was perfect, of course; our guests continue to rave. In all, the location and catering far exceeded our expectations!!

Simply put-this is absolutely THE BEST SPOT for your wedding/reception/rehearsal dinner, etc! We did it all here and honestly I would not change a thing. Everything was gorgeous. There were NO snaffus of any kind. The personnel working throughout were top notch. And the FOOD!!!! Oh my gosh, it was SUPERB!! We literally had people from various parts of the country AND Singapore at our event and to this day everyone comments on how delicious everything was!!!! This group is so easy to work with, so professional and generally so very kind. I would have all my events here!! Honestly just call them. You will be so glad you did!!
