I cannot share enough how amazing The Boathouse was on our special day. They were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to meet our expectations. Our day could not have been more special and perfect because of them. We were blown away by how much they did for us on that day. Special shout out to Alli Prato-Carney who went above and beyond our expectation every step of the way. She took my vision and made it into something that I could not have dreamed of even if I tried. She did her best to meet every need and made sure every bit of our day was as perfect as possible. She was thoughtful and I am convinced our day would not have been as special without her. She is a true angel and the absolute best Event Coordinator!! Thanks to the entire staff at The Boathouse for making our day extra special!

The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing is a wonderful place to get married! They make it so easy, and straightforward and they really take care of their couples along the way. From our initial meeting with Bonnie to the wedding day with Alli, we had a wonderful experience. We looked at several places but the Boathouse is unmatched if you're looking for a venue that offers both an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception, all in the city after daylight saving ends (our wedding was mid-November). The skyline and view of the James are perfection.I loved that the pricing was clear from day one- it's all right on their website for browsing before even speaking to anyone! We toured so many places that I thought we could save money here or there- but then the fine print would prove otherwise. The Boathouse also offers so much in-house- from the coordinator (Alli), to the wait and bar staff, to the food and drinks, to their partnership with a vendor for linens, chairs, a dance floor, and various other rentals- you do not have to piece together a bunch of items from different vendors- Alli took care of all of it! And the convenience did not result in poor quality- the number of times I reached out to Alli about tablecloth covers must've been annoying- but she never made me feel like it was! She was always so easygoing and delightful to work with When we arrived back at our hotel room we had to-go meals and wine waiting for us that Alli had packed up and sent with our day-of coordinator. It was such a nice treat after an incredible day! It really did go perfectly- my husband and I are so glad we went with the Boathouse and will have fond memories of our wedding day there forever!

Our wedding at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was an absolute dream, and we owe a huge shoutout to Alli Prato-Carney, our amazing event coordinator.The riverfront view paired with the city skyline was nothing short of magical – the perfect setting for our big day. Alli was incredible, making everything happen seamlessly. She totally got our vision and made it come to life effortlessly. The venue itself is a gem – stylish and versatile, and perfectly located for downtown Richmond. We’ve had so many compliments on our wedding, the venue and the food. Couldn’t have been happier with our choice. If you're after a stunning venue and a coordinator who's both professional and a blast to work with, The Boathouse and Alli are the dream team. We had our wedding reception at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and it was an absolute pleasure working with everyone involved. We worked with Alli leading up to our event and then with Hana for the final details and day of planning. The day went seamlessly and Hana was there to answer any question we had and keep the night moving along. She got us (the bride and groom) fresh drinks and plates of food while we were chatting with guests so we were able to spend as much time with the people who traveled near and far for us. We would 100% recommend this venue for a stress free wedding reception and will forever cherish the memories we made there! Plus, we continue to get comments on how good the food was, even 3 mo later!

My husband and I recently had our wedding at the Boathouse at Rockett's Landing and it was an absolute dream. From the very beginning the team at the Boathouse was dedicated to ensuring that our special day went off without a hitch. From the tasting event where we got to taste a ridiculous amount of food, to the day of coordinator (SHOUT OUT TO ALLI FOR BEING AN ABSOLUTE ICON), and everything in between, you can rest assured that your wedding day will go off without a hitch. Alli has been working for the Boathouse for many years and knows exactly what needs to be done to have an incredible event. Alli is very professional, quick to respond, kind, courteous and dedicated to you and your event. She even surprised us with little things throughout the night that made the evening even more special. The venue was absolutely beautiful (literally right on the water with the city as your backdrop), and the food was absolutely phenomenal. We got so many compliments saying that it was the best wedding food many of our guests had ever had. Everyone at the Boathouse was an absolute pleasure to work with and if you're looking for a fantastic wedding venue in Richmond Virginia, look no further than the Boathouse at Rockett's Landing!

Many people who get married are doing so for the first time, and as a result, planning a wedding is new to them and can be overwhelming. This was certainly the case for my husband Vincent and me, married at The Boathouse on November 5th, 2022. We were thrilled at the prospect of tying the knot in a central location, close to the river and the city we call home, so The Boathouse was our first choice venue. We were surprised to find that it was within our budget and we immediately moved to book our date. For us, the name of the game for planning our wedding was value and minimal stress. We considered hiring a wedding planner and/or day-of coordinator, but with Alli Prato, this was wholly unnecessary and we were able to save money on planning services. Alli was with us every step and was on point about all the details: food, decor, linens, DJ, ceremony, all of it. If you go with The Boathouse, you have at least a year before your date, and you're comfortable planning most wedding tasks unrelated to the venue (hotels, flowers, guests, invitations, etc.), then there is no need to hire a planner, as Alli takes care of virtually all venue-related tasks.Our ceremony took place outside, overlooking the river and Richmond skyline. We lucked out with perfect weather and it was beautiful! Our reception was upstairs in the River View Room, and guests could mingle outside on the patio/balcony, or inside by the bar or dancefloor. This inside/outside situation was perfect, since November 5th could have been chilly.Also, even though my husband and I hardly had time to eat for spending time with friends and family, the food was amazing! We went with the heavy hors d'oeuvres option, so there were passed appetizers, food stations, etc. This worked well for 135 people and everyone had plenty to eat and plenty of options. Another aspect we loved was that The Boathouse pays their staff a competitive hourly wage and includes gratuity. My husband and I have worked in the service industry so it was important to us that working our wedding was lucrative for servers and bartenders. We had a perfect day surrounded by so many people we loved, and The Boathouse was just the place <3-Natalie

The boathouse made all of our wedding dreams come true. The venue is gorgeous, and the food was amazing. I couldn't be happier. They did it all. Communication was easy. They always worked with us throughout the process, and it made it easy and smooth. I am truly grateful to have had my wedding there, I can't say enough about the venue or the staff. Alli, the day of coordinator is absolutely amazing. She decorated the space so perfectly, and she went above and beyond to make the day extra special. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

I don't know where to start - choosing The Boathouse was the absolute best decision! The location was sentimental to us as both of us have hosted visiting family members at dinners here, and we even got engaged on the dock below the restaurant so we were excited to look here for our wedding. We ultimately decided on The Boathouse because of the amazing value and ability to have almost everything taken care of in house. It was so great to have an on site day of coordinator (Alli - you are the best!) who took care of every detail to make the day go smoothly and made sure all of our needs were met. She helped guide us through everything in the meetings leading up to the big day and made sure we thought about all the small details that may not have crossed our minds. Once the day started I didn't have to think about anything - she was just there making it happen. Having all of the seating, food, and alcohol all included was wonderful & everyone thought everything tasted great. We really only had to bring in a DJ, flowers, and cake/desserts. Everything else was taken care of by the venue. AND it is naturally beautiful so we didn't feel like we had to go all out on flowers/decor. I can't say enough about how AMAZING our day was, and a huge part of this was The Boathouse - especially Alli. We wish we could relive this day over & over!

The Boathouse at Rockett's Landing absolutely went above and beyond for our wedding. Instead of booking separate vendors to handle tables, linens, food, etc. the boathouse handles it all! It's a one-stop-shop for a large majority of your wedding needs. Alli was our day of coordinator and she was truly the best part of booking The Boathouse, which is saying a lot because everything was incredible. We worked through multiple planning meetings, and relied heavily on Alli's experience to help us throw a wedding that truly felt like \"us\". The end result could not have been better. The Boathouse truly cares about your big day from A-Z, and everyone there displays that care from the first contact to clean-up post wedding. Book this place, ask for Alli, and thank me later!

The Boathouse was a wonderful venue for my daughter's wedding. It is located on the river with Richmond buildings in the background. It was a beautiful setting for the ceremony and pictures. The room was very nice, and it had a covered balcony outside which was perfect for seeing the sunset! The food was delicious, and we had many compliments about it. One of the best parts about the Boathouse was our event planner, Alli, and her wonderful staff. Ali walked us through the planning, and at the wedding Ali and her staff were so efficient and helpful with everything! Once the reception started, I did not think about anything except enjoying the moment! It was a wonderful night! Thank you!

We had a short list for venues, and The Boathouse was at the top. We needed a venue that was a one-stop shop for venue, ceremony, food and beverage, allowed a live band, and most importantly, it's own style and ambience without needing additional decorations. The location on the James River, at the bend where you can see the city in the backdrop, was perfect. The wrap-around covered terrace was perfect [in case of weather] for the evening to have the ability to step outside. The food and food options are all incredible (MUST get the ham biscuits!) and the beverage package (Silver) was perfect for all. We did have our ceremony at the venue, but chose to have it inside on the dance floor to make it a very intimate setting (chairs for parents only, everyone else gathered around. We did cocktail style food the entire night, with pass smaller options during cocktail hour and then progressively heavier options passed or put out buffet style during the rest of the evening. We had 90 guests and with the area required for the band and the 12'x20' dance floor (upgrade from the 12'x12' standard), the space was perfect with little wasted space nor crowding. The planning process was excellent. We had a combination of in-person and virtual meetings. All options were laid out very well at the beginning and the package pricing really makes it easy to choose what is right for you and your guest size. We did add the larger dance floor which i would say is a must if you have at least a 50 person guest list, We also added additional cafe string lights above the dance floor, which I would do again, but beware that a typical summer wedding (we did 6p-10p) it won't get dark for some time into the event and the lights won't be of much use until it gets darker. If the band or DJ has their own lighting, you could probably do without the lights. Also same for the uplighting that we added on the middle columns. They were an add-on that the venue provided via a 3rd party vendor. Great for the night time, but something to consider if a large portion of your ceremony or reception would be in the daylight. The River Room windows and terrace face almost due West, so you will get some nice sunset lighting, but if it's summer you will have sunlight coming in until 7p-ish.I am finding it hard to find any critiques. It was truly perfect. Wedding coordinators were excellent (Alli and Chanae), food and beverage options perfect, great location to downtown hotels, and I believe an overall excellent value for what you get.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to get married. We chose the Boathouse because a lot of the important elements were included (ceremony, food, bar, linens, etc..). You also get a coordinator to help you through the entire planning process and be the point person on the day of the wedding. Alli was our coordinator, and honestly, I don’t know how we would have had the experience we had without her. She was fantastic from the initial planning to the wedding, making her job look easy. The big day went smoothly without a hitch - with every detail taken care of. Our guests had an absolute blast. From being next to the river with great views of downtown to the fantastic food - it couldn’t get much better. People are still raving about what a great time they had. Thank you, Alli for everything you did to make our day amazing. You’re the best!

My daughter and son-in-law chose The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing as the venue for their wedding reception. I cannot overstate just how perfect the entire experience was, from beginning to end. Our awesome coordinator, Alli, walked us through everything. She was always present, helpful, and available to answer any question, big or small. The day of the wedding, Alli and her amazing team saw to all details of decor placement and vendor deliveries. During the reception, they made sure that everyone’s needs were met, so all we had to do was relax and enjoy the evening. The atmosphere, elegant room, river view, and delicious food were perfect. (Friends are still raving about the food!) I would highly recommend The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing for your wedding and/or reception.

What can I even say…. Alli and the whole staff at the Boathouse brought our dream wedding to life. Every single guest said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Alli was an absolute DREAM to work with. She handled every single detail perfectly. She got us drinks all night long, made sure we had enough to eat, and ensured every guest had a great night. The venue had everything to offer from AMAZING food (guests said they had never had wedding food this good), gorgeous water views, friendly staff and beautiful reception and ceremony spaces. I would recommend The Boathouse and Alli to ANY bride that asked. Best wedding ever!!!!!

This wedding was everything we wanted and more. Not a single thing went wrong, and the service far exceeded my expectations. Everyone working the event seemed genuinely happy to serve us, and as someone who waited tables for 7 years I know how hard that can be. Everyone one had an amazing time and was absolutely blown away at how beautifully it all came together. I am still getting compliments on the food! (Of course! That’s why we chose the boathouse!) The boathouse made our wedding perfect and stress free. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I want to give the Boathouse and Alli 700 stars. They went above and beyond at every step, from helping our musician set up to having snacks waiting for us immediately after the ceremony to taking care of EVERYTHING at the reception. On top of all that, the ceremony site is amazing, the reception room is gorgeous, and the food is incredible. Our guests raved about the views and the food all weekend. The planning process was seamless, and any time I asked Alli a question on the day of, her answer was \"Already done.\" She even helped bustle my dress when it was being difficult! We can never thank Alli and the Boathouse staff enough for making our wedding the most incredible, stress-free night.

Alli was spectacular as our wedding coordinator. Could not recommend her enough. She understood my vision and helped make it happen from planning to packing up. Views were great, food tasted good. The ONLY drawback I saw from the Boathouse is that the food package itself didn’t include enough food at dinner time , in my opinion. Between appetizers, salads, and the buffet, it sounded like a lot of food on paper, but the buffet options ended up looking really sparse the night of with only mashed potatoes and roasted veggies to eat with the meal. Wish the food package included 2 more side options as a standard, so everyone has options. Food tasted good though! They also ran out of our signature drink long before the night was over. So, it was great that it was popular but a letdown that they only had it for a couple hours. As a whole, though, great experience. Would definitely recommend others get married and have their reception there as so much of the day will be taken care of in-house. And I can’t say enough positive things about our girl Alli!

We are so happy we decided to pick the Boathouse for our wedding! Alli was amazing and was exactly who we needed to help us get everything together. We had a great time during our meetings and she was very responsive to our questions. Our wedding day itself was extremely easy and smooth thanks to Alli and the rest of the staff! We had a concern about weather the day before and made the decision during the rehearsal to change the location of our ceremony and everything seemed like that is what we planned all along! Overall we really couldn't have asked for a better experience and have heard nothing but compliments about the venue from our guests! Thank you for helping make our day as great as it was!

13/10 recommend... seriously couldn't say enough about The Boathouse more! We had originally planned to be married and have our reception in 2020, but obvi COVID said no. Alli was a dream to work with, as she is so professional and was attentive in helping us transfer dates and get all details worked out leading up to the big day! This past Saturday we got to hold the reception here, and despite having guests constantly changing their attendance and thus having to alternate numbers, there being a massive storm, the power going out, and it being the middle of summer... we had the BEST TIME! The staff had everything ready to go, and handled the adversity like absolute champs. In fact, it was so smooth that we had several guests tell us the didn't even realize the power had gone out!! Alli made sure to everything still went off and literally kept the evening smooth, enjoyable, and practically on schedule. I can't imagine having our celebration anywhere else. Not only could I see my beloved city, the river, and my friends/family, the food was amazing, and the space was perfect for our evening! Loved feeling like we were outside with the big walls of windows, but being comfortably indoors during the Richmond Summer heat!

I can’t recommend this venue enough! They were so easy to work with, and gave us so many options to choose from for our wedding day. We, like many other couples, had to postpone a few months due to Covid. The staff at boathouse was so accommodating and helpful through the process. Our coordinator Alli is a gem! She was our main point of contact for planning and really put me at ease. Not to mention she was an absolute rock star on our actual wedding day! She was there from start to finish, knew exactly what needed to be done and taken care of. My dress strap even broke at the beginning of the reception and she was right there with safety pins! We had an amazing wedding, and i would absolutely have any other event or party there in the future. ♥️

We originally planned to have our June 2021 wedding at the Boathouse, but adjusted earlier in the year due to COVID concerns. Alli and the Boathouse team were incredibly understanding, accommodating, supportive, and responsive as we scrambled to find a plan that worked best for us. Ultimately, we decided to have our smaller, backyard wedding catered by the Boathouse and we are so glad we did!! The Boathouse includes SO many things that would have otherwise kept me up at night - food, drinks, tables, chairs, linens, servers, bartenders, ceremony site etc. Alli is a dream to work with - she genuinely listens, makes helpful suggestions and has a confidence in herself and her team that makes you feel completely relaxed. We loved our wedding at the boathouse. Not only is it a gorgeous local and great views the food and staff are great. We choose the boathouse because of the all inclusiveness of what’s provided. It was so nice to not have to worry about renting tables, plates and chairs etc. Alli was our day of coordinator she was awesome. She keep everything going smoothly and was prompt getting back to all my emails leading up to the wedding. Neither of us ate the whole night but they send you home with a bag of all the food they served which was so nice!

The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing is an absolute MUST to fulfill all your wedding needs and more! Not only do they offer great rates, but they cater the food and beverages in house (so delicious), provide the tables, linens, dance floor, and an assigned event coordinator 6-months prior plus they are with you on the day of your wedding! It was so nice not having to contract with outside third-parites or hire a wedding planner. Literally your one-stop shop and did I mention the venue is gorgeous?! Due to COVID-19 we had to postpone of May wedding to August 2020, but our event coordinator worked closely with us all the way up to our big day. They went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was held safely and met our expectations. Throughout the process, they kept me informed and reassured on every detail which honestly limited any stress whatsoever. Also, we had some rain right before our outdoor ceremony which thankfully let up just in time, but the great thing is the Boathouse has a back-up indoor space in the event of bad weather. I really can't say enough great things about the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and the staff, especially the event coordinators, Alli and Hana. They were both phenomenal!! My wedding turned out to be everything I could have imagine and more. Highly recommended!!!

Everything about this venue was absolutely spot on!!!! The space barely needs any decorations, as it is beautiful all on its own, with an incredible view of the city and the river. The event staff was great and so helpful during our event, and our event coordinator was wonderful! The food was fantastic, we heard nothing but good things from all of our guests. It was the perfect size for our event (about 75 people), but it could accommodate a much larger crowd as well! Can’t say enough good things about this venue, our reception was perfect!

I couldn't say better things about the boathouse! We had our wedding here in November, 2019. We had several planning meeting prior to the event, which were extremely helpful. The boathouse has everything you need including tables, and linens. We chose to use an outside vendor for some additional furniture, and the staff was more than accommodating with our needs. Alli was such a help during the entire process. She made sure to answer all of our questions during meetings, and was very quick to respond to questions and concerns via email. Virginia is very tricky with weather, so we were able to add on last minute heaters when we knew the weather was going to very cold the day of. Alli was great with handling our wedding party entry, and making sure the speeches stayed on track. Everyone complimented the food throughout the evening, and enjoyed the open seating we offered. Alli was so knowledgeable about the area, and really helped us with selecting our vendors, and communicating with them the day of. The private bathrooms and private entry really made a difference to our guests, and the staffs attention to detail really made our night extra special!

My husband and I got married at the Boathouse at Rocket's Landing July 27, 2019. We were blown away by how flexible and open minded the event planners were! Upon touring the Boathouse, we fell in love with the view of the city. After seeing the views of the Boathouse, we wanted to set up a tent on the river and have a tented reception. Ali and Susan worked diligently to make our crazy idea the most beautiful reality! The event planners at the Boathouse at Rockets Landing are truly one of a kind. Ali was incredibly helpful and effective setting up (dozens of) rentals, coordinating our ceremony and reception, and executing the wedding day itself. Ali is not only a wedding magician, she is also the kindest and most fun person to work with! The Boathouse at Rocket's Landing gave us the perfect venue and back drop for our Richmond wedding. Their flexibility and willingness to try something new is truly rare in the wedding industry! I would highly recommend getting married at the Boathouse at Rocket's Landing!

Laura and the Boathouse staff were incredibly attentive and personally involved in making sure everything went perfectly. We loved the venue, to include the skyline view of Richmond and the accessible location. The food and drinks were exceptional, and Laura helped us to customize our menu. I got married 6 months ago at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and we had a wonderful experience from the initial meeting up until the wedding reception. We worked closely with our wedding coordinator, Alli Carney. She was so easy to work with and responded quickly to all of our questions. The day of the wedding reception, she made sure everything ran smoothly and was directly involved every step of the way. As the bride and the mother of the bride, we did not have to worry about one thing and Alli made sure we were taken care of and pleased with the service and overall experience. The venue and service overall were perfect for a wedding. We had many people who attended comment on the beautiful venue and views. The food was perfect and many people commented on how delicious their meal was as well. The service overall, from Alli to the waiters to the bartenders, was more than we expected. Everyone was organized, friendly, and efficient. We highly recommend this venue!

We chose The Boathouse at Rockett's Landing for our ceremony and reception venue for several reasons. The view of the city is amazing, we love the water, the food is always fantastic, and instead of coordinating all the little things such as linens, a caterer, servers, bartenders, chairs, tables, etc., it's all there wrapped into one! This was especially important to me, and made the planning process easy. The venue also comes with Alli, the day of coordinator, but she is so much more than that! She guided us through the whole planning process with several meetings and countless emails, worked with us to make our vision come to reality and had great insight when we weren't sure how to proceed. Alli knew every detail of my wedding, set up the reception area with our extra decorations, ran the rehearsal, and made sure we were at ease. The day of went off without a hitch! The food was great, the service professional, set up was down to a science, and everything ran on time. Alli and her team made this happen! We cannot stop talking about how perfect our wedding day was, and credit Alli and The Boathouse for all their hard work!

The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was the perfect venue for our wedding – such a beautiful view of the Richmond skyline! We had our ceremony on the outside patio area, which was lovely. But, even if it happens to rain, having the ceremony inside is still fantastic due to the large windows, covered balcony area, and spacious reception room (including a huge bar). We worked with Alli Prato, who was incredible throughout the entire process. There are a lot of details that come with wedding planning, and Alli helped us make sure we didn’t forget anything. She always responded quickly to emails and was available any time for questions. Alli has a very calming presence, which is very helpful when planning inevitably gets a little stressful. Alli and her team were incredible on the day of our wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly and checked on us and our family members multiple times throughout the night. We were extremely happy with our experience at the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and highly recommend it!

I cannot begin to say enough great things about Ali & her team. We planned our dream wedding taking place in Richmond, VA from where we currently live in Charlotte, NC. We were looking for a venue that was \"very Richmond,\" as we both grew up there, met there, and fell in love there before relocating to NC. Our first time visiting it, and seeing the view and how it would look being married with the James River and city skyline as our backdrop, we were sold. The fact that the packages are all inclusive made it so easy. We couldn't constantly travel back and forth, and frequently had to contact Ali with questions, ans she was so quick to get back to us, and always had great suggestions and information for us. Fast forward to the day of....we had family & friends travel from all over. Everything was so beautiful, so elegant, and just perfect. Ali was a fantastic coordinator. She even took care of little things, like holding my train as I first walked across the gravel so it didn't get in the dirt, grabbing us both drinks throughout the night, and even packing us a super generous package of food at the end of the night, since we didn't eat all day (and when I say generous, I mean enough to last us for days!)We had so many compliments from everyone about how magical everything looked, how amazing the food was, how delicious our signature drink was, and how great the servers and bartenders were. It really was our perfect day, and I wouldn't change a thing. Ali made everything so stress free and easy.

We had the most amazing ceremony and reception at the Boathouse at Rockett's landing. We had Alli as our event coordinator and she made the whole process incredibly easy. Everyone knows what they're doing at the venue, and Alli knows what questions to ask prior to the day of - things that we didn't even think about. Using The Boathouse as our venue cut down the amount of vendors we had to coordinate as well as they handle the tables, chairs, linens, dance floor, bar, and catering. The rehearsal and wedding/reception went super smoothly and neither my husband, my mom, or my mother in law had to worry about the thing. Highly recommend this venue!

Some of our top priorities in selecting the venue for our wedding were #1. An outdoor ceremony with a view, #2 great food and drinks, #3 a venue that provided an ”all inclusive” set up, so I wouldn't have to pick everything from plates, napkins, glassware etc.. Needless to say, The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing exceeded my expectations AND we had the pleasure of working with Alli, the event coordinator. She was a God send! Extremely professional, organized, calm and thoughtful throughout the entire process! Planning a wedding (especially when doing it on your own and out of state) can be very challenging and easily overwhelming. Alli made the process extremely simple and helped bring my vision to life. I was a bit frantic in the weeks leading up to the day of, luckily Alli was there to ease my concerns with her amazing personality, experience and professionalism. The timeline went exactly as planned on the day of, with clear and easy instruction. She orchestrated everything in the background perfectly and had prosecco and TONS of food packed and ready to go in our exit vehicle. The entire night went flawlessly (at least to my knowledge! 😂) not only was Alli amazing to work with, but all the staff did a tremendous job taking care of our guests and clearing tables.We had so many compliments from our guests on the venue, the food and drinks and the views. If we were faced with making the venue selection all over again, I wouldn't even blink before saying yes! It was easily one of the best decisions we made!

Our wedding at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was absolutely perfect! We worked with Alli, our day of coordinator, and she was a dream. She worked hard to make sure my vision was brought to life, and was very calm and laid back throughout the whole process, which helped to ease my nerves and take away some of the stress that goes with planning a wedding! The staff the day of was also fantastic, going out of their way to make sure the entire bridal party was fed, and that we were treated like VIPs. We got married August 31st, and our ceremony started at 5:30 - letting our photographer take advantage of the golden hour during cocktail hour photos. The only negative (not the fault of the Boathouse) was that there were people playing volleyball and taking advantage of the bike path nearby, one of which walked through our ceremony while I was walking down the aisle. This was made up for by the awesome diners at the Boathouse cheering from the patio when we were pronounced husband and wife. With the RVA skyline and the James River in the background, our photos are stunning! The sunset from the River View Room was gorgeous, and all of our guests kept commenting on how beautiful our venue was. If you're looking for a truly \"Richmond\" wedding and don't mind a few spectators, the Boathouse couldn't be a more perfect choice.

My husband and I decided to have our wedding at the Boathouse after we had dinner at the restaurant to celebrate our engagement. It was the best decision ever! Alli was incredibly helpful throughout our entire wedding planning process. I really can't imagine a more qualified, organized, or friendly person to work with and we have nothing but amazing things to say about her. Having your wedding at the Boathouse is as stress-free as wedding planning can be. They are so easy to work with and it is so nice to have one vendor handle the ceremony, reception space, linens and rentals, and catering. The food was incredible, we had so many compliments on the unique space, and they included so many thoughtful touches for my husband and me (like providing us with a meal to go as we were leaving--I was so nervous during the actual reception I couldn't eat much of my dinner!). Altogether, we are so happy we chose the Boathouse and would highly recommend it to anyone.

My new husband had a few things he really wanted at our reception: oysters and action stations. I really wanted an all-inclusive spot with great food and a great view. With those priorities in mind, The Boathouse quickly became the obvious choice for our wedding. It turned out to not only be obvious, but also perfect! Our guests raved about the food (even my father, who is notoriously critical about his meals, told me the food was \"excellent\" and \"everything was fantastic\"), and loved the setup the Diamond Reception Package offered because they could try a little (or a lot) of everything. Those who weren't from Richmond and weren't familiar with the location of the restaurant were blown away by the picture-perfect views of the downtown skyline from the private patios. Our onsite coordinator, Alli, was incredibly helpful throughout the process! From start to finish, Alli and the rest of The Boathouse staff made planning (and pulling off) our wedding a simple and seamless process. I would do it all over again with them in a heartbeat!

We were a bit apprehensive with the costs at first but please trust us - The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was worth every penny and MORE! We especially loved working with Alli because, although she does this for a living, we never got the feeling we were just another client with just another wedding to her. She knew exactly how special and important this day was for my sister and she took every little detail seriously while being super patient with us and our family! I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone who wants a breathtaking feeling for their special day. The view is spectacular!

We got married on October 7, 2018 and we selected this venue due to the scenic backdrop of the James River and downtown Richmond, VA. Out on site coordinator Alli Prato was the definition of excellence. She was thorough with planning the ceremony and the reception. The only detail we had to provide was the decor. The venue provided the food, beverages, table lines, chairs/tables, and vendors for photography, DJ, etc.. We literally showed up the day of our wedding and everything was in place for the wedding. We got a lot of compliments from our guests and vendors about the flow and the atmosphere of the wedding. We compliment the staff for their attentiveness and their punctuality. We had such a blast at our wedding and we highly recommend for any special event.

We knew the setting would be beautiful but we didn't know much else except that the food would be excellent, of course. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding! The coordinator Alli was with us every step of the way during the planning as well as on our wedding day making sure everything went according to plan. She made the planning easy! The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing provides a natural beautiful and romantic setting with the James River as its backdrop, but what really sets this venue apart are the hospitality and professionalism of its staff. More specifically, Wedding Coordinator Alli Prato is well suited due to her calm demeanor, thoughtfulness, and mindfulness of last second changes. She coordinated our various wedding vendors, helped with picking and tailoring ceremony and reception aspects of our wedding to fit both my husband and I's personalities, and remained an utmost professional during our communication. From the planning stages up to the moment we returned from our honeymoon, Alli was highly supportive and went above and beyond our expectations. We had a summer wedding (June 2018) and could not have imagined a more perfect day. My husband is super Type-A and its moments like this why I chose to marry him. He handled most of the communication with the Boathouse team and he told me their team is awesome. Now on to the wedding: Yes, it does get a bit hot for ceremonies while standing in the sun, but we abbreviated some sections and proceeded to an energetic and close-knit reception. We opted for a reception-style dinner with some seated guests and others rotating both inside the river room space and on the outside balcony decked with additional tables and chairs wrapped in our wedding colors. Between the seamless coordination of the kitchen, bar staff, and our many wedding vendors, the wedding day itself went extremely well all things considered. We are very happy that we decided to go with the Boathouse for our wedding ceremony and reception. My husband and I can't wait to see the photography and video from the day-- which I heard from guests is spectacular due to the Boathouse's location on Rocketts Landing. Based on the relative affordability, location, and exceptional staff, I highly recommend The Boathouse for prospective wedding couples.

We had our wedding in May 2018 - From the start of the planning process the Boathouse staff was amazing! The food kept coming for all of our guests and my husband and I went home with 3 full bags of food to snack on afterwards. Per recommendations from a family friend we did get some additional outside lighting and spot lighting for the cake to add a little extra to the space which turned out wonderful! We were married Mother’s Day weekend and the boathouse even offered furniture they had rented for their Mother’s Day brunch for us to use at no cost. The indoor/outdoor atmosphere was perfect. We had 220ish people attend and as it was a nice day it never felt overly-crowded. We had a band and it was a bit loud at the beginning of the evening but really we wouldn’t have changed a thing! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to host an event or have a wedding.

Our initial reasons for choosing the Boathouse at Rocket's Landing was for the river, views, and food. What we experienced on the wedding day was so much more. The food was exceptional, the staff went out of their way to make this day so special and if it weren't for Alli (our on-site coordinator) I wouldn't have enjoyed myself as much as I did. Our day say sunshine, rain, sleet, and snow and the Boathouse rose to all the challenges that presented and rose to the top of their game. From the initial consult with Bonnie, we knew we were in good hands. She really listened to how we imagined our wedding and talked through all of our options to help make that happen. Once booked, Alli, our day of planner, was very thorough and responsive throughout the entire planning process. She went above and beyond to help accommodate our requests and helped to make our day perfect. She kept us on schedule yet made sure that we were eating and happy throughout the night. The serving staff and bartenders were awesome, our guests are still raving about the food, and we liked that drinks were paid for upfront so we didn't need to settle anything at the end of the night. Oh and the bartenders made a killer blackberry lemonade for our signature drink! If you want a fairly inclusive venue with a beautiful view, awesome food, and a staff that will impress you and your guests, this is the place!

The boathouse was amazing! We had a great first impression on our tour, the staff answered our many questions and made us feel comfortable with everything. Alli was awesome and made planning so simple. The venue was beautiful and our guests raved about the food and service. We felt the boathouse offered the best value, by far, for an all inclusive venue and cannot recommend them enough!

Our guests said the food was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding. The ambiance was incredible and everything turned out beautifully. From the minute my husband and I walked into The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing, we knew it was \"The One!\" Everything about the venue was wonderful. We had Alli guide us through the process and she was amazing! She answered all my questions and gave me comfort when I needed it. The food was amazing and everyone commented on it. We had our ceremony outside with the beautiful city skyline as our background-no need for a wedding arch. The wait staff were wonderful w/ our guest. As my husband and I paid for the wedding ourselves, this venue was very reasonable and we loved how it was all inclusive- food and bar! I am trying to find reasons to have another party there :) We love The Boathouse!!

It was a truly beautiful (read: perfect) venue for our reception. It doesn’t need to be overly decorated because it is that stunning of a place already! If you are a Richmond native, you’ll recognize that the building was the first steam factory in Richmond and that it has retained the charm. The only downside to this venue came during our final headcount meeting, when this dream venue turned into a nasty business. We were thrown costs that had not been discussed prior to signing any contracts and had no option but to pay them. It was a beautiful reception in the end, but watch out for those extra costs. They tried to sell us string lights for $800.

I can't begin to talk about how amazing the Boathouse and their staff was before, during, and after my wedding! We chose the Boathouse for both our ceremony and reception space. I chose the location based on the beautiful scenery and how affordable it was compared to other venues in the city. You are really getting your money's worth here with the BEAUTIFUL skyline of Richmond in the background and the modern industrial look of the building itself. It is truly a unique location. I worked with Laura, an event coordinator with the Boathouse, and she was an absolute dream. She calmed every worry I had as a bride, answered my millions of questions, and really paid attention to how I wanted my dream wedding to be. Laura planned several meetings to go over food, decorations, and ceremony prep. In these meetings, we went over every detail and Laura was very informative the entire way through. The ceremony and reception both flowed so smoothly thanks to Laura and the hours of prep we did! The Boathouse staff was also very accommodating with my guest's food allergies and they also helped a lot with the set up. I can't speak highly enough of them! I was lucky to have my wedding right after the Grand Illumination in Richmond, VA so the skyline of the city was brightly and beautifully lit in the background of my reception venue. Everyone raved over how scenic and fun the venue was! I still have guests talking about how wonderful it is! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an event space or even just a place to eat. They are wonderful in everything they do and I cannot thank them enough!

We thoroughly enjoyed having our wedding at the Boathouse. Alli and her team were communicative, accommodating, and prepared. When it comes to executing weddings, they have the process down. Yet, we still felt like the experience was personal and we were important. There are 2 things I appreciate most about the Boathouse: 1) The service: from setting up, service at dinner, and breaking down, everyone was courteous, attentive, and made sure no one was left wanting. They proactively packed up all the things we would take with us at the end of the night (centerpieces, flowers, guest book...), and made sure our wedding party and family had to do as little as possible. This was extremely important to me. 2) Timeline and coordination: It's inevitable that you are extremely busy and distracted on your wedding day. Between the nerves, fitting in photos, talking to guests, and trying to eat your dinner, the last thing you want to worry about it how and when things happen. Alli [assisted by our MC/DJ Chase (Black Tie Ent.)] made sure that we knew every step of the way what was going on and where we needed to be. This is invaluable on such a huge day where you're trying to be as present as possible. The one bit of feedback I would give is that the dinner tasting should be free (within reason) or the credit should be more than $50. We ended up doing 2 tastings and were much happier with the choices the second time around. But it cost us as much as a fancy dinner out. When you consider how much money a couple spends just at the Boathouse for their wedding, it seems fair for this to be a complimentary part of the package. However, this doesn't change my recommendation that the Boathouse is a fantastic place to get married, both in location and in service.

Who would've thought that right after guests said \"We had so much fun,\" the next compliment received was \"the food was so good!\" My husband and I both work in the hospitality industry and were impressed with how professional and accommodating The Boathouse staff were. Laura was always so responsive and she thought of everything! It really helped to ease the stress. We went from 100 people to approximately 65 and were worried that the room would feel empty but everything was absolutely perfect! We will be remembering our time here forever!

My Husband and I just got married here in September and it was amazing! All of my guests loved the ceremony & reception space! The food was amazing as well. It was so organized and on schedule. The day couldn't have gone better. We were thrilled to have our wedding here and the venue was perfect right on the water and our pictures were amazing with the city in the background. Our event coordinator Allison made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Our guests were impressed with the service and quality of food and drinks. We booked the Harbormaster suite at the Rocketts Landing location. It's a smaller, more intimate room (fits 30ppl seated). There's a separate restroom and bar inside this space. The room has floor-to-ceiling views of the river. Magnificent view! The staff was very helpful and accommodating before, during and after the event. Bonnie and Laura were very helpful during the planning process. And Elaine and Kyle were rock stars during the event. Every dish served was delish! The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was the perfect kick-off to my sister's wedding festivities.

We had our wedding reception in the River View Room at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and everything was really just spectacular. Laura Silva was our fantastic wedding coordinator and made the whole process really easy for us with her knowledge and experience. She was able to make excellent recommendations for vendors as well as for event logistics and schedules. We enjoyed the convenience of having the catering done by Boathouse staff and everyone liked the food. The indoor/outdoor space was just what we were looking for with a May wedding and its minimal industrial vibe can be dressed up or down according to your preference in many different styles. We are so glad we chose The Boathosue at Rocketts Landing as our reception venue and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering having their reception there.

The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing providing the most epic backdrop of the place where my husband and I fell in love that I could ever ask for. The perfect venue for a winter wedding with windows galore to highlight the beautiful cityscape and riverfront. On top of that, the heavy hors d'oeuvres package allowed us to create the party feel we wanted instead of the typical seated, formal dinner. It gave our guests more than enough delicious food and the chance to mingle and dance-which is what we really wanted. \r\rOur onsite coordinator, Laura, was extremely helpful on the day of and made every effort to ensure that things were set up the way we wanted them to be and helped us find the ideal locations for photos she knew we really wanted. She kept us on schedule to ensure our day was magical but included every detail that we had requested. \r\rI can't say enough about our sales rep as well. Bonnie was incredibly professional, knew the subject matter and I can honestly say her presentation wow'd us so much that we knew right away that was where we wanted to have our wedding, even though we had many tours scheduled at other places. \r\rYou hear all the time that no one remembers the food from the reception at a wedding, but it's been two weeks and people are still raving about the food. It truly was so yummy. Each person has stated they had a favorite and that they could not get enough of it! \r\rWe really could not have been more pleased.

We are so glad we selected The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing for our October 2015 wedding! We wanted a location that really highlighted the city we love and live in and met in, especially for our family visiting from our of state. The Riverview room provides a breathtaking views of downtown Richmond, the James River, and the sunset. We met with Bonnie in January 2015 and she was wonderful to work with and very responsive. She gave us some great recommendations for other vendors and our ceremony location before we even committed! Once we signed our contract, we started working with Laura on the details. We were very happy with the food selections - there were several choices for each course. We had a great time at our tasting, which was effectively a night out in the restaurant. We wait staff and bar tender were wonderful and accommodating, especially with giving us some great options for our signature cocktail. The Boathouse provides several options for linens, set up, and beautiful river view indoor and outdoor seating options. The day of coordination was flawless! The set up was more beautiful than we could have imagined. Laura and the team handled all the set up for our vendors, and coordinated cues with our DJ and photographer. This venue provides everything! No need to outsource tables, linens, silverware, plates, dance floor, lights...they have it all! And the best part is that their food and service is amazing! They also provide a wedding coordinator, who meets with you before and is there the day of to organize everything. The overall price seems high at first, but when you shop around, it is more than reasonable! We had a beautiful reception and loved every moment. The Boathouse made it stress-free and pictures by the water were gorgeous.

I am so incredibly happy that I chose to hold my reception at the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. From the very beginning of our planning, I felt confident in their ability to deliver upon their promises. The event room does not require much decoration, as it is completely beautiful, and the view of the Richmond skyline is wonderful. But the main reason that we chose this venue is for the food. Many of our guests commented that it was \"the best wedding food they have ever had\". You can't get much better than that. Also, you can't beat the service from everyone at the Boathouse, especially Laura, as they made me and my new husband feel truly special. Thank you so much!!

I loved having our rehearsal dinner at The Boathouse! There was so much mingling space, which was great for our guests to enjoy the cocktail hour before dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, everyone raved about it. We really enjoyed drinking wine out on the balcony after dinner and enjoying the beautiful view of Richmond. Our only issue was with 1-2 weeks before the rehearsal dinner, we were told that if we wanted to had individual orders for food (i.e. chicken, steak, and salmon) then we needed to provide those orders and have placecards with each order. We didn't hear about this until it was way too late. Luckily, the mixed grill option worked just fine for us and everyone got to try both the chicken and salmon.

I had a wonderful experience with The Boathouse. Not only is it a beautiful venue--river and skyline views, plus an elegant reception room with exposed brick and tons of windows--but they also made the wedding planning process so easy, and we always felt taken care of. Laura keeps everything organized, and handled so many aspects of the decor so we didn't have to worry about it: chairs, linens, furniture rentals, etc. The food was wonderful (which I know because they sent us home with doggie bags so we could eat after the wedding), and the staff were attentive & friendly. They even wiped the rain off the chairs so we could have the ceremony outside despite a monsoon right beforehand. I would recommend The Boathouse without hesitation.

I was absolutely thrilled with how my reception turned out. The food was amazing, the set-up was exactly how I had pictured it and Laura was so helpful I couldn't have asked for anything more. She made sure everything went off without a hitch, that I was able to get something to eat and drink and that I was happy. Anything I needed, she was there for me! The views at The Boathouse cannot be beat, the atmosphere is perfect and the staff goes above and beyond! I would recommend this venue to everyone!

We held our reception in the Riverview Room. Guests loved the beautiful views of the James River and the Richmond city skyline from the expansive balcony! Everyone loved the fantastic food with great portions and the servers were wonderful as well. It's a relatively new operation, and all of my old college friends who came into town for the wedding were impressed with how it really showed off the city. :-)\rMy groom and I toured 4 venues and Boathouse was our hands-down favorite. From our first meeting, we could tell they were very organized and would be great to work with. We also loved how the pricing was comprehensive - for a set fee, we got to choose from a huge selection of linen colors, there were no 'cake-cutting' fee add-on, and we didn't have to worry about renting extras, (except for a dance floor and mason jars, which were our preference). It was nice to know we had really solid professionals when we got to the big day!\rI can't say enough great things about them!

As mother of the bride, the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was the perfect venue for my daughter's reception. Laura and Ann were so easy to work with and were very flexible in the planning process to make sure our ideas were incorporated. We had a photo booth and candy bar that they fit into the seating plan perfectly. Everyone commented on the wonderful service. The plated meal was served quickly and came out hot and delicious. Drink glasses, whether water or from the bar, were constantly refilled during dinner. The chairs are so comfortable! When MOB and FOB arrived during the cocktail hour the patio/balconey was full of people enjoying the view of the river and the city skyline. It isn't for the bride looking for a fancy ballroom setting, but we got many, many compliments on how perfect the venue was for the party we wanted to have. Everyone had a great time.

I had my wedding on New Year's Eve at the Boathouse. They were fantastic during the planning period, quickly answering all my questions and making helpful suggestions for things I hadn't thought of. The night of the wedding, my coordinator, Laura, was amazing. She ran everything perfectly and I didn't have to check on anything. All my guests had a great time and everyone raved about the food. Having all the food, drinks, tables, etc in one venue made things so much easier. The Boathouse has done many weddings and it shows in how carefully things were planned out and how well everything went during the night.

We loved the new Boathouse venue because we did the ceremony and reception right along the James River in scenic Downtown Richmond! The weather was perfect and everything was brilliantly planned out. We got a discount for the initial location rental because we were in the 1st year of opening, however the space rental fee is well worth it with the view, food and the service provided. You're given a \"day of\" wedding planner...and you'll meet with her along the way after you choose to be at the Boathouse. The food is EXCELLENT and the staff working there goes above to make sure you truly have an amazing wedding. Catering is given (you choose what type of 'food venue' you'd like to have as well as choose the food itself!), as well as alcohol choices (as to what bar you would like to have at your reception).
