Our wedding was in April of 2023. The Box House Hotel and the team behind it exceeded every expectation we had. They were incredibly organized and supportive throughout the planning process and were a well oiled machine the day of. They made special accommodations for things that were important to us, going far above and beyond. We loved the venue, of course, but the team and their service makes the magic. I cannot say enough about how amazing the BoxHouse was. The venue alone is truly special and a gem in the city. From our first tour to the day after our wedding, the staff was exceptional. They made the process very easy special thanks to Abbas, Mariel, Daryna and Nick. I planned my wedding without a wedding planner and with the help and expertise of the planners at the Box House you do not need one!! The event staff was also super accommodating to some of our requests, and remembered little things we mentioned to them in passing (shout out to the passed around espresso martini shots!). Aside from the venue and staff, the food was fantastic. Probably the best wedding food we've had and I'm not being bias! Thank you Box House! Reviewed on 05-10-2023

Our wedding at the Box House Hotel was beyond fantastic. Everything went according to plan - and then exceeded expectations. The day/evening weather was beautiful so we had the opportunity to fully leverage the open-air / open-roof set-up which totally set the mood for us and our guests. The food was great, the staff were friendly but on point, and the vibe came across as \"intimate, fun, and loving\" - a quote we received from more than one of our guests.I am an uber-organized person, so I have to give major kudos to Daryna and Mariel for keeping us flowing, so seamlessly. And those efforts began before the big day with their management of details and communication, to the day-of coordination. They thought of things I wouldn't and thank goodness, because it allowed me and my new husband to relax and enjoy the event, our family, and friends. Nick's drinks were very much appreciated and the \"behind the scene\" AV and serving and bar teams were on point for the entire event.Though biased - we know that we had one of the best weddings at the Box House Hotel (this is from the completely impartial family and friend crew that attended) - and we truly appreciate all that the Box House teams did to make our event delightful. They worked with vendors (band, florist) directly to simplify logistics- which was something that was important to us.We loved hosting our ceremony and reception on the rooftop followed by the after party at Brooklyn Lantern. We had some minor hiccups in planning due to the event team/hotel front desk team changing hands, but it still all came together and was incredible in the end. We left our wedding feeling very taken care of.I do have one word of warning for future couples though - there is an exclusive contract with the lighting and sound vendor that is not included in the price of renting the room. Their sound and lighting equipment is pre-installed so you have to use them and they charge baseline $525 to light the dance floor with pre-installed LEDs . You also need to pay for a package for sound and labor which is more understandable, but worth noting outside sound or lighting is not allowed - even if your band could supply one or both. It's the best that exists. Full stop. The words used by our guests for the evening included: Perfect. Magical. Absolutely stunning. And that's the truth. Here's why: 1) The people & service: The Box House Hotel staff are consummate professionals who know their stuff. Every detail was thought through and prepared for, while day-of, they were in lock-step across timelines, guests, spacial changes and more. This is a superb team. 2) The space & the views: Of course this is why you do a rooftop, but even with that understanding, BHH blows expectations away. There's the sunset over Manhattan, the twinkly lights' reflections that created stream of lights emanating over Brooklyn below, the choreography of the space itself that easily transitioned from phase to phase and more. 3) The food: The food was fantastic. It felt like it was made to order, arriving at each table perfectly cooked & served. The variety and quality can't be beat (seriously, most weddings it's like a mass produced meal. Here, it matched NYC's best food & Chefs). 4) The value: The all-in price for the Box House came in way more reasonable than any other NY, Brooklyn or Hudson Valley venue we assessed. Not only that, but they go above and beyond at every step - the team, the candles/design, the audio/video partnerships, and more. Thank you Box House for everything! Reviewed on 30-05-2021

The Rooftop is gorgeous, has fantastic skyline views, fits many more people than similar NYC venues, and – a key feature – has the option to close the roof and run A/C on a rainy or hot day. We were very happy to have found it. By mid-June, New York City still had not entered Phase 1. On June 12, Box House Events told us that we needed to cancel and reschedule (and, if we wanted to schedule anytime in the next eight months, immediately pay another ~$12,000 deposit), or forfeit the ~$24,000 deposit we had already put down. The Box House Events acknowledged that, under our contract’s force majeure clause, “if there are any government rules or regulations that prevent us from hosting your wedding on August 16th, all money is refunded – pretty simple.” When we expressed dismay at their rescheduling terms, Box House Events began to insist that they would legally be able to hold events as early as June 22, and so could host our 150+ person wedding. While we were skeptical, we kept our wedding on the calendar for August.Fast-forward to mid-July. The situation in New York had improved, but much of the country was a mess, and New York City (understandably) had a number of restrictions in place to prevent a resurgence here: no indoor dining, event spaces remain closed, no gatherings/events greater than 25 people, mandatory social distancing. Concerned about the obvious implications for our 150+ person wedding, we had asked Box House Events to provide documentation (such as their Site Safety Plan, which New York requires reopening businesses to have), so that we could confirm ourselves that our wedding could be safely – and legally – held, like Box House Events was telling us. Box House Events acknowledged that those questions were legitimate. In response, Box House Events insisted that they are not a “large gathering/event venue” (which would be unable to open under New York regulations), despite advertising the Rooftop as an “event space” and a “venue” that can hold up to “350 standing guests” on their website and in promotional materials. They refused to provide their Site Safety Plan. They refused to provide information so we could confirm that, as they claim, they are considered an “outdoor space” under NY Department of Health regulations even with the roof closed and A/C on. And of course, current regulations prevent any gathering in New York City larger than 50 people, inside or outside. Despite all of this, Box House Events continues to insist that they can “legally and safely” hold our 150+ person wedding in 24 days. Why? As Box House Events acknowledged, our contract includes a force majeure clause that says if “government rules[,] restrictions or regulations regarding travel” prevent Box House Events from holding our wedding consistent with our contract, they will have to return our ~$24,000 deposit. They are refusing to do so.As you could expect, this process has been awful. We are lucky to be safe and healthy, but we are not lucky to have picked Box House Events. They have made what was supposed to be the best day of our life completely miserable. Maybe the venue’s beauty and views alone are worth it. But, if things go wrong, don’t expect them to honor the contract. Reviewed on 24-07-2020
Carrie Sorensen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-01-2020 My husband and I got married at the Box House in January 2020. It was absolutely perfect! We started and ended our venue search at the hotel, as soon as we met with the team and saw the rooftop, we knew it was for us. Everything was amazing about the entire weekend. As soon as we checked in when they let us check in hours early, and upgraded our room to a suite right next to the bridal suite, so we wouldn’t have to move far on our wedding night. The team was amazing at helping us plan everything, afterwards all the guests commented on how organized everything was! The food was probably one of the best parts! I actually got to eat, and I have to say the Mac n cheese bites were my favorite thing even though everything was delicious. The skyline was a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony. One thing I was worried about was that it would be cold, because January on a roof, but there was plenty of warmth from the various heat sources. I am so grateful for everyone at TBH and am hoping to be able to go back to celebrate our first anniversary :) Reviewed on 14-04-2020

The roof-top space has incredible views of the Manhattan skyline with plenty of space for our 100+ guests to dance and enjoy their dinner. The in-house caterer provided a delicious meal that we still cannot stop talking about. Our day-of-coordinators were with us every step, truly making us feel special. Maryann Conigliaro(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-10-2019 Our wedding at the Box House Hotel was a fantastic day! We cannot say enough good things about the staff and the beautiful venue. When we first came to visit we loved the vibe of the hotel and the view from the roof can't be beat. We had a lot of guests visiting from out of town and they loved being able to stay at the hotel. We even held a brunch the morning after the wedding and it was great to see everyone before they departed. We felt incredibly taken care of in the months of planning leading up to the big day. The whole staff was great to work with and Krista, our coordinator, really went above and beyond. They helped us put together a mostly vegetarian dinner and are super accommodating for all diets. And the food was amazing!! All of our guests raved about how delicious everything was! Everyone talked about how beautiful the evening turned out and we could not have asked for a better experience. Samantha` Yurkosky(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-05-2019 This review is long overdue! We had our wedding at the Box House Hotel in May 2019 and could not have been happier - I highly recommend this venue and their amazing staff! Some context; my husband and I got engaged in Jan 2019 and when we saw that the BHH had a date open in May we decided to plan everything in a little over 3 months. We loved the venue from our first visit (which was pouring rain, but even in that weather the rooftop was still romantic), and the fact that they provide so much on the big day made it an easy choice. We worked mainly with Xavier who is a total pleasure to work with, and was flexible with us so that the ceremony and reception fit our exact vision. He was great at communication and helped me hammer out the tiniest of details, from the candles to the event order down to the minute (which was a lot to do in 3 months - but he made it seem easy!) They even provided a day-of coordinator to help everything run smoothly, and saved us the cost of hiring our own. Their menu and the fact they have a full kitchen onsite made planning a dream, and the food was FANTASTIC! My parents are retired caterers, and were not satisfied with the catering at my sister's wedding, but they were so impressed with the food and service at the Box House. It made me so happy that my parents could also enjoy the whole experience. The ambience was perfect, a mix of outdoor with the roof open and indoor when the evening got a little cooler, great lighting, plenty of space to dance (with 175 people attending), but somehow also still felt intimate. So grateful for everything they did for our wedding - I cannot recommend enough!!! Reviewed on 16-12-2019
Hillary Weiss(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2019 Ah, The Box House Hotel. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways. We got married at TBH on the mot perfect day of our lives, and it's my absolute pleasure to be writing them this review. I'll start with WHY we chose with The Box House. First, from the moment we stepped into the hotel, we felt totally important and cared for - which was a BIG contrast to a lot of the other NYC wedding venues we checked out. From our first time meeting Joe and the team, to the tasting, all the way to the big day, the team supported us at every turn in the road.Aside from the beautiful hotel itself and the gorgeous roof and views, their all-inclusive rate was what sold us.For the uninitiated, in NYC there's this whole thing about renting venues as \"raw spaces\" and then bringing in eeeverything. For my husband and I with our schedules, this would have been impossible to wrangle - so the fact TBH took care of everything including an on-site DOC, it was a total no-brainer.Next, let's talk about the day of - Y'all, I am type-A. So is my husband. I am ALSO a stress-nightmare-haver and had taken the ol' \"Something always goes wrong!\" wedding wisdom to heart, so as far as I was concerned, I was ready to put my perfectionism aside and prepared for everything and anything to go awry. And... everything basically went off without a hitch. We were staying in the penthouse suite which had plenty of room for all 12 bridesmaids + groomsmen to get ready, as well as us, and the only time I saw vendors was when they were dropping in to give us hugs and wish us luck. By the time we got to the roof for photos, everything was basically set up, and it looked BEAUTIFUL. The ceremony was flawless and we could even open the roof, and they made great use of all our foliage and florals and neon signage. Krista our DOC was incredible and had everything taken care of for us, I still shed a slight tear just thinking about it!Also I should add that the team sommelier was VERY patient with my wino Daddy-o, and so attentive and accommodating. We take our wine AND cocktails extremely seriously on both sides of the family, and both were excellent. And the food, ah, the FOOD! People are still talking about it. We rolled the dice and went with duck and branzino and they were a huge hit. As bride and groom, we were also able to eat during our own reception - which is apparently very unusual, hahaha. We were treated like the king and queen all night, our cups were always full and we danced the night away with the stunning views of NYC in the background. I'm so glad we have our photos back so I can relive it all just a little. Thank you thank you thank you to The Box House hotel and team!Same time next year?(Just kidding! Kinda. ;)) Reviewed on 02-12-2019
Sara H(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-02-2019 My husband and I got married here in February of 2019. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. From the view, to the decor, to the food, through the staff, everything was exactly what we had hoped for! We knew we wanted a rooftop with a view in Greenpoint(our home turf) and The Box House Hotel fulfilled our wish. From the start, Joe was accommodating and even gave us a last minute showing when my mom and sisters came to town unexpectedly. From there I started working with Xavier, who very politely helped us plan our wedding even though we are procrastinators and not good at planning in advance. Without him I don’t think the wedding would have even happened!! Xavier handled phone calls from our parents and guests like a champ!! Steven was our wedding day coordinator. We had a decent sized bridal party with lots of children and he handled all of them so kindly and professionally. The food was amazing and we had so many guests rave that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding! Most of our family stayed at the Box House and with so many people it was like we had free run of the place. It was the perfect venue and the fact that my family could all stay in the same place and hang out in the days leading up and after made it so much better, making the experience an entire week we will never forget, rather than just one night!!Oh and not to forget, there is a bar available for after the wedding and restaurant for brunch the next morning. So great to have everything at one location! To everyone looking for a wedding venue-I strongly recommend The Box House Hotel. They will figure out exactly what you are looking for, even if you aren’t quite sure what that is, and make it happen!!To The Box House Hotel Staff(Joe, Xavier, Steven, and everyone else who made our day perfect)-we really really appreciate everything you did to help us have the most perfect wedding. Not only was the space so unique and memorable (we had guests coming up to us all night raving about how amazing the rooftop was), but we really felt like we were in great hands from beginning to end. Even when we had (what felt like) crazy requests, we were always accommodated and never stressed that it couldn't be done. Our wedding could not have felt like a truer representation of us as a couple, and the Box House was a huge part of that. This was also the only venue we looked at which included a day-of-planner, which initially we did not think of a necessity but slowly we realized how important having one is (shout out to Krista!) It would be difficult to put into words how great this place is, and how great the organizers who dealt with my wedding are. Joe, Xavier, Krista, Steven were so helpful with all aspects of the planning. Instead of writing a 2 page essay on every thing they did right (it was everything) I will just tell you - that from the day we walked in, to the moment we walked out of there after our wedding was over they had EVERYTHING handled. The event execution, the food, the bar, the hotel, the staff.... EVERYTHING was perfect. The food was the best food we have ever had a wedding. The whole team ended up feeling more like family at the end of it all. We cannot stress enough how wonderful it was to get married there. We could not have been happier with how our day went and the process leading up to it. We did not have a wedding planner and so their responsiveness, attention to detail, and expertise made the whole experience wonderful. Thank you to everyone who made the whole experience a dream. As native New Yorkers and Greenpoint residents we wanted a venue in NYC that felt special and authentic to us. The Box House Hotel was the perfect place! From the decor of the hotel to the outstanding city views on the rooftop, everything is amazing. Our ceremony took place during sunset and the retractable roof was closed to provide shade, during the reception the roof retracted leaving our guests stunned. The feeling of celebrating at the Box House was unmatched. Joe, Xavier, Krista and the rest of staff are kind, attentive, and helpful. They assisted us with planning everything down to the minute, and day of they were there to guide us through. You can tell that they truly love (and are good at!) what they do. Chef Brian is exceptional! The food was absolutely delicious. We got so many rave reviews from our guests! We loved the food so much we immediately made a reservation for their restaurant Madre (located in the sister hotel Franklin Guest House) to celebrate our one month anniversary! Just like our wedding day they took care of us and treated us like we were family. Additionally, the bartenders at the wedding were great! They were super friendly and personable, it made a huge impression on our guests (as a number of them mentioned this to us after the wedding). You can't go wrong with The Box House Hotel! The NYC views are unmatched from this amazing rooftop. The space is great for a wedding or large event, with a beautiful bar, multiple restrooms, wood floors and the retractible roof is just the cherry on top. Service was impeccable. Food selection had some amazing options (branzino, potato gratin and churros were crowd favorites!) and was way better than any other wedding food we (or any of out guests!) have had before. Everything was perfect and seamless - our guests are still raving about it! Truly an amazing experience, we are so glad we found this jewel. Maggie Stiggers(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-07-2019 WOW! Where to begin... my husband and I were married a few days ago and it was the absolute best night of our lives. Everyone at the Box House was incredible! Krista, the wedding coordinator helped us every single step of the way. She took care of practically everything. The ambiance, the food, the sound, the views... it was just such a magical night. Every one of our guests were raving about the experience, saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to. The food was INCREDIBLE. I have so many dietary restrictions, and they made me a special plate, even with my own passed appetizers. The venue provides a beautiful tasting too, where you can sample your menu and wines. The space itself, was just GORGEOUS. We were worried it would be too hot, but the air conditioning worked great and they even opened the roof during the reception so we could dance under the moon. The space comes with lots of plants already, so we didn't even need too much extra greenery for decorations. It was just such an unbelievable night with truly incredible service. I just wanted to add in how beautiful the Box House venue is, and how wonderful it was to have our wedding there. The view of Manhattan, the feel of the space, the retractable roof, the stunning bar, all of it was the ideal location for our wedding. We lucked out with the weather and were able to keep the roof open for much of the night, but once it cooled down a bit the roof was quickly and easily closed. We also loved our stay here during the weekend. We stayed in the Penthouse suite and it was perfect for getting ready with bridesmaids, and for hanging out with the wedding party before the ceremony. We had a large bridal party, on top of parents, flower girls and ring bearers, and there was plenty of space for everyone to have a toast before the party started. Finally, I wanted to say that Jean, who works with group bookings for the Box House, was so wonderful. He was responsive, friendly, and always helpful. A big thank you to Jean! You'll catch your guests just staring out at how beautiful and magical the city looks from Greenpoint, it such a treat I feel lucky we had the chance to see it a few times. Joe was great, we had a couple of hiccups early on due to some staff turnover, but Joe took the reigns and made our night so memorable. I have to say I was so surprised how phenomenal the food was, more than one guest came up to me and commented on it. Our servers and the staff, in general, were exceptional, and there wasn't a moment I didn't feel taken care of. We were tougher probably than most as we're both project managers, but when it came down to it all the important stuff was in place and it was the time of my life. There was a freak snowstorm the night before, and you would never guess it, the space was immaculate by the time we were doing family photos. The bar is also available for a post-wedding nightcap and Dave the tend was the man, he put up with us for far longer than we contracted for. With HQ2 moving in, who knows what will happen tot he neighborhood, but for your special day between now and when that happens, really consider Box House, it made the Cut's top list of wedding venues with a view and for a reason, you won't stop staring. Soraya Eatemadpour(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-11-2018 We just had our engagement party at the Box House Hotel. Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. We were touring several event spaces when we stopped by the hotel for the first time. Joe, the events director, was kind enough to show us the rooftop without an appointment. We were immediately impressed by how cool and stylish the hotel lobby was. As soon as we saw the rooftop, it blew the other event spaces we had seen earlier out of the park. From the moment we began the planning process, Joe was there for us every step of the way, answering all our questions, providing us different options, and working with us to plan our dream event. The night of the engagement was absolutely fabulous. Joe, Steven (events manager), and the party staff put everything together perfectly and my mind was at such ease I didn't even feel the need to check in. Even with all the rain outside, the views of the city skyline remained a vibrant backdrop to our party. All our guests were instantly awed by the beautiful setup with ample dancing space and room to roam. Since my fiance and I are big time foodies, the food was an especially important part of our event - and I can honestly say that we and all our guests were amazed by how incredibly delicious the food was. Even the pickiest of our guests were shocked by how good EVERYTHING tasted. During these types of events, it is so difficult for couples to taste the food at their own party, but Joe personally brought over food, drink, and utensils to both my fiance and I so we wouldn't miss out while we were constantly greeting guests and posing for pictures. It was the type of night no one wanted to end. Days later, I'm still getting messages from family and friends about how much fun they had and how beautiful everything was. Jordana Moldauer(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-08-2018 This hotel is the reason you should be able to give 0 stars. If you booked your wedding there, good luck! Here's the TL;DR: I GOT STUCK IN AN ELEVATOR THAT SMELLED LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE FOR NEARLY 20 MINUTES ON MY WEDDING DAY, AN HOUR BEFORE THE CEREMONY. The hotel showed so little concern/sense of urgency about the situation that our photographer had to be the one to free us from the elevator!!This review is long but juicy! To clarify: Our wedding took place on the hotel's rooftop, but we actually booked through Glasserie, which was absolutely wonderful and we cannot recommend them enough. Side note: we're pretty sure some of the pics above are actually of Glasserie events that the hotel had nothing to do with!Room Block was a disaster - our guests found better rates online than the ones the hotel gave us and the hotel kept telling our guests the block was full before anyone had booked. Hotel stay stay was nightmare-ish: The hotel gave away the room I was promised as a bridal suite to another guest. Then, they lied to me, telling me it wasn't clean yet and made me wait for a while in the lobby with an entire cart of wedding related items in one hand and my dress in the other (I had called ahead to avoid this exact situation). On my wedding day, the hotel was so slow in bringing me a steamer, full length mirror, or even, just a spoon for my coffee (1 full hour for the spoon!) that I got behind on my wedding day schedule and had to send my poor maid of honor on errands all day. About an hour before the ceremony, my maid of honor, mom, aunt and photographer got stuck in the elevator, which started to smell like it was burning. Here's what our guests & vendors told us happened while during/after: 1) our other photographer ran to the front desk for rescue and was met with a total lack of concern/urgency from the staff who told her we should just \"push the door\" 2) our photographer had to be the one to free us from the elevator!!! 3) it appears there was no maintenance person on site even though, based on our experience (we had to take the service elevator twice during our previous visits), this elevator seems to get stuck with an abnormal frequency. [The hotel now claims that their maintenance person helped our photographer get us out of the elevator, he just wasn't wearing a uniform because \"it was his day off\". Our photographer, who has no reason to lie, tells us it was another hotel guest]. 4) While this was happening, THE STAIRS DOORS (yes the fire exit) WERE LOCKED and the staff was incapable of finding the right keys. What would have happened had there really been a fire?! 5) The fire department came and placed both elevators out of service just as our guests were arriving. In what can only be described as sheer insanity, the only option the hotel gave us was for our 110 guests (many of whom not able to climb 5 flights of stairs) to take the stairs 6) my husband HAD TO ARGUE with the hotel staff for our guests to be allowed to use the service elevator 7) The hotel refused to help redirect the guests, indicating to my brother, who was trying to do their jobs for them, that \"it is Glasserie's job to direct the guests\". 8) the hotel didn't even bother checking with me that I was ok after the traumatic elevator incident 9) Despite MANY requests, the hotel locked all stairs doors again. Is it even safe mere hours after a such a major and dangerous elevator outage?! Reviewed on 24-10-2018

TLDR: -The Box house is the best wedding venue find in NYC, maybe in the world. -Their events manager, Joe, is the best events manager in NYC, maybe in the world: he will be your wedding MVP- trust me. -If you want the most beautiful, stress free wedding in NYC, maybe in the world, get married at The Box House Hotel rooftop.CONCERNING THE SPACE:-The event space has the most breathtaking surround view of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. -We REALLLY wanted a rooftop wedding- but we were getting married at the beginning of April and worried about weather... BUT GUESS WHAT? The Box House rooftop can be left completely open on a beautiful day or closed in with stunning glass panels and a retractable roof at a moments notice. Weather be damned- we were going to have the perfect wedding at this space.-The decor is just to die for. Every piece of wood that has been laid or fixture that has been built is impeccably considered. There is a marble bar situated on one end of the room that is worthy of being a sculpture in a museum. It's the kind of space that is so beautiful that you could leave it as is, with no further decor, and still have a beautiful event-Throughout the room they have available rolling room dividers that are super helpful for customizing the space to your exact event needs and easily change things around throughout the evening- Everything is picture perfect! The thought that has gone into the space combined with the backdrop of the city is just magicCONCERNING JOE (and the staff):-Pardon me for a moment while I gush but Joe and his team were my wedding White Knights and I don't think I could have ACTUALLY pulled off my wedding without him.- I've heard that most venues are primarily just an empty space and you're on your own for everything else. That was NOT the case at the Box House, and let me just tell you that I don't know what I would have done without them. -Joe was so communicative from day one and always went above and beyond to put our minds at ease. Even though I was an unorganized mess, he was so patient and would ask all the right questions to keep me on track.-Any time I needed to, he would walk me through the space- even if it was just because my mom was in town and she wanted to take a look! - I can't even express how much Joe and his team went above and beyond during the actual event. The Hotel provided tables, chairs, linens, decor lighting, cozy accents, and about a hundred other little things that meant the world to me that I didn't have to think about. -Everyone was so kind to our guests. Friends and family rave to me even still about the professionalism and generosity that the Hotel Staff displayed. -After the wedding and honeymoon Joe reached out to us just to check in. He sincerely cares about every couple that gets married the the Box House and it makes all the differenceThis review is long overdue, but partly because it was hard to find the words to express how much I would recommend The Box House Hotel to anyone getting married. Happy planning! <3 Reviewed on 29-08-2018
Peggy DeLeon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-07-2018 They say when you get married, the only thing people remember is the food and the space... WOW did we get both!! Food was superb and bountiful, our signature cocktails were delicious, and there are not enough beautiful words to describe the venue. We got married a few weeks ago at The Box House Hotel and my friends and family have not stopped talking about how it was hands-down the best wedding they've been to! Joe really took care of our entire family, brought us drinks and food when we were starving and mingling with family, and made sure we had incredible rooms for our family. He is truly a gentlemen and every single member of his staff and The Box Hotel's staff was professional, friendly, receptive, and welcoming. When I first started looking for venues, I found a ton of raw spaces and I actually entertained the idea of throwing a wedding myself. Then I toured with Joe and learned about ALL of the amenities that Box House provides. They shoulder sooo much of the burden of planning a wedding, I honestly could not imagine doing it ourselves. Joe and his staff worked with us to plan tastings, book vendors, he created custom layouts for us, among many other things. On the day of I was super nervous, but as soon as I walked in for the first time and saw the space and its beauty all dressed up with the retractable roof open during the First Look, I knew I was in good hands. A note on the food: it was impeccable. I met their Chef during the tasting Joe organized with us, and he was kind, walked us through the entire menu, and explained some great options from the impressive menu that work very well together. We took his and Joe's advice and everyone at the wedding was in shock at how good everything was. We had all of our food served family style and there was more than enough food for everyone on the table. Huge platters of filet mignon and hand-dived scallops, coming fresh out of the kitchen made everyone light up. All in all, this was way more than I could ever ask for. The team at The Box House Hotel are wonderful people to work with. The food was incredible. The venue with the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and the water views directly in sight made for some stellar pictures and memories to last a life time. Thank you so much for throwing my husband and I the wedding of our dreams! Reviewed on 18-08-2018
Raymond C(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2019 Absolutely incredible venue, service, staff, food, and views! My wife and I hosted our 10th anniversary on the roof with 150 of our close friends and family and everyone was blown away! Joe took us on the initial tour and was very helpful in discussing spacial layouts, menu selections, decor, timelines and everything we needed. Honestly all we did was send out our invitations and book a band and a florist, outside of that Joe and his team took care of the rest. The space was set up beautifully the day of our party, we had a massive raw bar set up, the servers were incredibly professional and knowledgable, and the food was delectable. Really incredible space, no reason to ever look elsewhere if you're thinking about throwing an event. Reviewed on 12-07-2018
Patrick Berndt(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2019 Where do I begin? I chose to celebrate the annual 211-119 FDNY Dinner Dance at The Box House Rooftop for a number of reasons. 1. the incredible views. 2. the custom catering menu they created for us. 3. the service they promised to provide. The team at The Box House went above and beyond for us. Weeks before the event Joe and Mary met with me multiple times to discuss floor plans, layouts, timelines, menu selections, payment schedules, lighting and audio packages, the list goes on. The service during the event was spectacular, everyone was sharply dressed and incredibly professional. The food was absolutely incredible, in particular the Wild King Salmon which pretty much melted in your mouth. Everyone who attended had nothing but great things to say about the space and the event that was thrown by The Box House. 10/10 highly recommend! Reviewed on 25-06-2018
Hi everyone! My professional career started out as an attorney. As much as I loved practicing law, I rarely felt fulfilled. That all changed when I decided to plan events here at The Box House Hotel. I've witnessed smiles, tears (happy tears of course), laughter, immediate gratification, and pure bliss during each event. Despite all the effort I put in, I couldn't do it without my team. Planning your wedding with us means that you'll have access to our incredible chefs, bartenders, servers, and coordinators. Together we will go above and beyond to make your night special and unique!
