The Brownstone is a rustic wedding and event venue in Topeka, KS. First built in 1927, this farm setting sports a blend of vintage architecture and elegant details for couples to enjoy. The onsite team offers their versatile grounds and all-inclusive packages to give each soon-to-be-wed a relaxing, stress-free planning process. The Brownstone sits on five acres of private land, giving couples a tranquil, secluded setting to host their wedding day. Flourishing trees, manicured fields, and vibrant gardens surround the main event barn and make for a visually rich ceremony space. You will be welcome to place your altar within the Limestone Patio, which features a natural stone fireplace and staircase for photo-ready backdrops. You and your guests can then move into the barn's reception hall, which can host up to 200 people total. Inside features the original brick and wooden beams to give your big day an old-school touch. Its versatile floor plan allows you to create any seating arrangement you want, while the mezzanine floor provides extra seating space with a view. The large windows and detailed chandeliers will give your event a bright, airy feel. Get-ready lounges are also available onsite for you and your wedding party to prepare in comfort. The Brownstone has a one-event-per-day policy, giving you exclusive access to the grounds during your celebration. Their in-house event coordinator will work with you throughout the planning process and help you make the most out of your venue space. They will also connect you with their list of recommended vendors, ensuring that you achieve your dream theme.

The brownstone was one of the most beautiful places my now husband and I had seen! As soon as we walked in we instantly knew that was where we were going to get married. All of the people who worked there were fantastic in making sure our vision came to life. Margarita- our even design coordinator helped put together exactly what we imagined! I’m so glad that we chose the Brownstone for our special day, and we recommend it to any one we know that is getting married!

The weeks leading up to the wedding I was able to meet/text with Kelsey who finalized ALL small details, even some I hadn't thought of. She was there for the rehearsal and helped lead my large wedding party and family in the right direction for the big day. The day of the wedding she was there, along with a few other staff members, helping set up tables, chairs, linens, and helping coordinate to make sure we were all on time. We chose to do the all access rental package, which was by far the best decision we made! They had the exact decor I had envisioned and after the big day I didn't have a ton of extra pieces that I had to take home. From picking decor pieces, and ceremony and reception floor plans, to guiding the week of the wedding right up until I walked down the aisle to my husband, The Brownstone seriously made our wedding THE most memorable day of our lives.

The most beautiful venue! I loved having all the different options for ceremony and cocktail hour locations. That way we could customize the day however we chose and could have a nice rain-plan in case our choice of an outdoor ceremony didn't work out.

The Brownstone did an amazing job!!! They made the planning process super easy and recommended several places that they use for things like catering, DJ, photos, flowers, etc…. They are super easy to work with! Kelsey with Brownstone was AMAZING!! She was very thorough when asking for anything we needed or wanted to request. She was always available when we had questions, by text or email, and very attentive to everything on the day of our wedding! Very pleased with everything they did for us on our big day and we definitely had a large wedding with lots of guests for this venue and they were so wonderful with accommodating all our guests! I actually changed up our original walk through at the last minute and they were very helpful with that process and all of the planning. I would 100% recommend The Brownstone to anyone planning a wedding!

After viewing what felt like 50 venues and not being “in love” with any of them, we absolutely fell in love with the brownstone from the second we stepped foot in there! From the rustic look all the way to the amazing staff they made me and my future husband feel at home and even adored and interacted with our daughter! We are so excited to get married here in November of 2024!

Don’t sleep on event design and rental services! It saved us so much money, and the design team absolutely nailed it. I loved all of the different spaces for getting ready, ceremonies, reception. Wow! I couldn’t believe our experience getting married at The Brownstone. I got married this summer in between semesters of college. Wedding planning in the midst of college was hectic (as expected) and I never had thought my dream “Pinterest wedding” would be the outcome. Highly recommend this beautiful venue. They were accommodating at every step. Our daughter and her new husband were married there recently. The Venue allows for the most spectacular pictures with lots of options. Our event coordinator Kelsie and her staff were amazing. She handled all those last min needs. The Brownstone is beautiful inside and out, I was really impressed with the landscape and flower beds. We also did the rentals and design team, which made our day so easy and relaxed. Margarita who is over the design/rentals is amazing and really went above and beyond for us!! She put her heart & soul into our design and made it so much better than I ever could have imagined! 10/10 recommend working with Margarita, she is the most genuine person. Cons:- We were really excited about our venue coordinator Mary since she came with great recommendations but we received an email a few weeks later notifying us that a schedule mix up happened and our venue coordinator would be Amy. Amy stopped responding to our emails the week of our wedding.. they were super simple questions an would have taken 10 seconds to respond to. She also stated that we would receive a gift at our rehearsal but we never received one. We hardly even saw her at our rehearsal or wedding. I heavily relied on my Day of Coordinator Lindsey with the Veil for any help with the venue. - You don’t receive a detailed invoice listing out everything you’re being charged for unless you personally ask for one. We found out that we were being overcharged and never would have caught it if we didn’t ask for a detailed invoice. - The venue put out more chairs during our ceremony than we needed so our ceremony had a ton of empty chairs in all of our photos. I highly recommend asking the staff to only put out enough chairs for the guest count you submitted. I would also subtract the chairs for the bridesmaids and groomsmen if they don’t plan on sitting during the ceremony. - Our signature drinks barely had any alcohol in them. I had about 6 drinks and still didn’t have a buzz. Keep in mind, I usually get tipsy off of 2 drinks! You are also required to include all children over the age of 3 in your alcohol package. Which seemed crazy. Overall the Brownstone was beautiful and we had a great time!

The location and scenery was amazing and hotels within a few minutes. I purchased their rental package and design package. Their rental closet included everything that I was wanting to use design wise and paid a reasonable flat fee for access to EVERYTHING. I also added the event design and had several design meeting with their team. They have design videos, social media content and more to help with the process. They made the day before and day of completely painless. Added a picture of inside for viewing. There was a chance of rain the day of my wedding and they made sure they had plans ABC in order for what to do that day. They have multiple locations on site you can have the ceremony and reception at. Can not recommend them enough!!

The venue was extremely well organized and the staff was very knowledge. our event coordinator was so helpful and even gave us suggestions on things we could do. they worked very well with the other vendors at the venue (the photographer, DJ and Pastor).the only issue we had with the venue is that it has a fully equipped kitchen BUT with NO stove, if you are having food catered/delivered that is no problem but we were making our own food there and that made it difficult however we were informed prior to the event. so that is to no fault of the venue, but rather just something to keep in mind. Overall our experience with the brownstone was FANTASTIC! It was the best day and will be remembered forever!

After looking at many venues around Kansas City that felt impersonal, generic, and overpriced, we expanded our search and were so lucky to find The Brownstone. The entire team was so supportive of the vision for our celebration, were helpful with all our questions, and were a joy to work with on Wedding Day. We genuinely felt attended to and cared for throughout the entire experience from our first tour through clean up.The Brownstone is the perfect sized venue for ~170 guests and provided so many great layout options for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Beverage packages were reasonably priced for the offerings and they nailed our signature cocktails.A venue coordinator is there to support with everything needed for wedding day. The venue called all our vendors prior to wedding day just to double check everything (a real blessing during the busy week leading up to the big day). Judy was there when we needed her, lighting candles, tending to last minute details, and finding us a much needed box of safety pins.

The Brownstone is such a beautiful venue, elegant yet rustic and comfortable. The facility is great with indoor and outdoor options. Their use of the silo is so unique! The options are great, such as beverage plans and decorations. It helped so much to rent items instead of purchasing our own! They really help to organize yet stay out of your business. If we needed a table set up, they hsbfled it quickly. The coordinators were available, kind and helpful. The bartender was amazing! 160 people for one bartender and everyone was happy! We are so happy we went with the Brownstone! I wish I could have another party just to go there again!

The options are great, such as beverage plans and decorations. It helped so much to rent items instead of purchasing our own! They really help to organize yet stay out of your business. If we needed a table set up, they hsbfled it quickly. The coordinators were available, kind and helpful. The bartender was amazing! 160 people for one bartender and everyone was happy! We are so happy we went with the Brownstone! I wish I could have another party just to go there again!

When I first walked into The Brownstone, I immediately saw my wedding taking place here. I pictured it perfectly!! My husband, Shawn, and I went to one of the open houses they hold every month when we first got engaged and fell in love with the venue! It was gorgeous! From the wooden floors to the high ceilings! We didn't even bother looking at other venues because this had everything we wanted! The two bridal suites, the grooms suite, multiple locations for ceremony options (both indoor and outdoor), a bar, and so much more! We booked them right on the spot! As the wedding inched closer, Abby and her team were so friendly and helpful! We frequently emailed them back and forth multiple times, just asking questions and inquiring about potential problems that may come up. They were quick to answer and always available! Then, COVID-19 happened and Shawn and I were beginning to wonder if we were ever going to have that dream day. I had a lot of anxiety going forward and was constantly debating whether or not to post-pone... but, both Abby and Donna assured me that our wedding day was going to happen! And when September rolled around, we had our special day! And it was MAGICAL! I cried so many times not just because of all my friends and family being present but because it was actually happening! I started envisioning exactly how I wanted it to look end it was just so gorgeous. There were some problems with communication with the staff, they messed up my cake even though we went back-and-forth with them about my vision for the cake and they said they will make it happen. They made the cake the size and the style that they wanted and the cake was crooked. They made up for it with tons of delicious food and plentiful drinks.My guests were raving about the food and how delicious everything was.

When I first went and toured The Brownstone I knew it was the perfect venue for us. The outdoor ceremony options with beautiful wood work and amazing attached silo bar on the inside was so pretty, it was my dream venue. We booked and went through rescheduling due to the pandemic, the office team was awesome at accommodating our needs throughout the entire process. They have awesome options at rentals that my guest really enjoyed such as the floral swing and outdoor games on the patio. Our decoration were a simple touch and the space felt so romantic on our special day. Our event coordinators were awesome, we had Judy in the morning that had a mimosa buckets and beer buckets ready to go and our afternoon coordinator was Margarita, she is super detailed and was fantastic through out the entire process. We had so many of our guest compliment our venue and how beautiful it was and how much history it had. We wouldn't have changed a single thing about our special day. Ladies looking for an amazing venue at a reasonable price, look no further The Brownstone is what you want!

Having our wedding at The Brownstone was one of the easiest and best decision's of planning our wedding. The team at The Brownstone was always so easy and inviting to talk too. It didn't matter to them if I was calling for the 3rd time that week, they were always helpful in answering our questions and working with us throughout our wedding planning. For our wedding we had to work through COVID-19, Abbie was always so helpful in letting us know our options for our wedding, how to adjust plans if needed, how our guests will be safe with continuing on with our big day, and just made sure to make us feel as calm and comfortable as possible. Along with being so helpful with the long planning process, the day coordinators were just as helpful the day of. Everything with smoothly and as the bride, I was not stressed out about making sure things were set up in their correct positions or needing to set up tables and chairs myself. Not only is the staff at The Brownstone the best ever, the venue itself takes your breath away when you arrive. We loved having everything in one location from getting ready, to our ceremony, followed by our reception. I knew when I first visited The Brownstone it was the venue for us. The Brownstone is the best wedding venue in Topeka! My husband and I got married here on 01/04/20 and everyone who attended our wedding raved about how beautiful the venue was! The staff was incredibly helpful with any questions or concerns that we had when it came to planning our wedding. Not to mention, our wedding day went off without a hitch because of the amazing coordinators that worked with us to make sure our day was perfect. I will definitely be recommending the Brownstone to everyone I know!

After we moved our reception date to October in lieu of our original May Day date, they even personally dropped off a bouquet of flowers with a lovely handwritten card! This really meant a lot as it was a very personal touch during a difficult time. They've also been great in working with all us brides in letting us know what was going on and exactly how they were going to support and help make our lives easier :) they even offered a backyard wedding set-up package!

I loved everything about The Brownstone! It was everything I have ever dreamed of. The minute I toured the Brownstone, I knew it was the place I was going to hold my wedding and reception. The ambiance of the venue is everything I have ever dreamed of. I've always wanted an outdoor wedding and a barn for the reception; the Brownstone met all of my expectations! The staff worked with me for 14 months, from booking the venue until my wedding, answering all my questions, helping me plan, and giving wonderful suggestions. Judy, my coordinator was AMAZING! She made the day perfect. The day of my wedding, I was stressed because the wedding was outside and it was raining. At 5:15 the rain stopped and her and the other staff rushed to dry everything off so that I could have the wedding outside; the fireplace and arbor on the patio were wonderful touches. We rented a tent to have our dance outside, and we were provided with heaters as well. It was the perfect place and gave guests a variety of spaces to move to! The whole day and night of my wedding went so smoothly. Abbey in the morning did wonderful setting up, answering questions, and helping me prepare. During the wedding, Judy helped release the wedding party for the precessional, directed us for pictures, helped us with our introductions and made everything go wonderful. My guests raved about the venue (many of my out of town friends kept commenting and couldn't believe Topeka had such a beautiful venue!) We had two different bars, and it was perfect. All the guests had a great time! It was truly such a dream, and I'm so thankful for this venue and staff. Thank you for making my day perfect. If you are looking for an elegant barn, with rustic touches, outdoor and inside spaces, a wonderful staff, and a great location then this is your place!

We were blown away by the venue and the staff.Our story:My wedding day came just three days after going through an emergency c-section and welcoming my first child into the world. The staff at The Brownstone helped set up for my wedding day, called all my vendors to verify arrival times, regularly checked in on me to make sure I was doing okay, offered to watch our baby if needed, and honestly went way above and beyond for us. I'm not recommending to have a baby three days before your wedding, but if you do, the staff at The Brownstone will make it as easy as possible for you.The staff/venue:The wedding itself was gorgeous, owing most of that to the natural beauty of the venue. The staff did everything they could to make the wedding go smoothly: keeping the buffet stocked, breaking down the buffet, cleaning the dance floor, taking down unused tables/chairs, cleaning up at the end of the evening. We worked with a variety of staff members throughout the booking/planning/event day timeline and each person was as friendly and helpful as the one before them. Our guests even commented multiple times about the beauty of the venue and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Also, two weeks after the wedding, one of the staff members saw us out at a restaurant and came to say hi and see the baby again. We thought that was nice!We highly recommend!

I can't recommend The Brownstone and their staff enough! First off, the venue is breathtaking! All of my guests said they had never seen something quite like this place. Second of all, their staff went above and beyond for my day! I had planned our ceremony to be outside on the back patio, but there was a chance of rain. They set up the ceremony in BOTH inside the barn and out on the back patio so I didn't have to make the decision until about 10-15 minutes before ceremony time! About 30 minutes before my ceremony, it rained for a few minutes. The moment it stopped, they had leaf blowers and towels outside drying the seats so we could have our dream wedding outside! Everything was EXACTLY how I imagined it to be. They even worked with my mom to help fix our linen issue when the wrong linens got delivered. The bartenders we had were the life of the party, and our coordinator, Margarita, was absolutely incredible! She made sure everything went smoothly down to radio-ing her other staff to make sure the doors for my dad and I opened at the perfect time for us to walk down the back stairs and that everyone met at the aisle at the perfect time. If you are looking for a unique, rustic but elegant venue that is still close for guests to stay at a hotel, go visit this The Brownstone! You won't regret it.

The Brownstone was a dream come true for our October wedding. My husband is active duty military, so it was tough to strike the balance between rustic and military formal. We found everything we were looking for here. Val went above and beyond to make sure the day went smoothly. Our guests loved the outdoor space as well as the intimate reception hall. We can't say enough good things about The Brownstone!

We got married at the Brownstone this past weekend and were blown away by the beauty and charm of the venue itself as well as how helpful the staff were! They did a great job of keeping everything going and dealing with all the other vendors. Such a stunning place to get married and our guests had the greatest time! Would 100% recommend this to other people. Large venue with a small/intimate feel.

The Brownstone was the most beautiful place I could have ever imagined my wedding! Abbey, Valerie, and the entire crew were so helpful and a blast to work with throughout the entire engagement. Everything was more than perfect on the day of the wedding--I didn't have to worry about a thing! I'm still hearing from family and friends how absolutely stunning our wedding was! So happy I chose the Brownstone!!!

The Brownstone was actually the easiest choice we made for the entire wedding. We booked before it was even finished and had complete confidence in Abbey that it would be amazing when we showed up in March.From the day of coordinator, Valerie, to the gorgeous bridal lounge, everything was perfect the day of. We knew the space was special so we did natural greenery and very few flowers and it was exactly the rustic chic type of atmosphere I had dreamed of. After sunset, the barn really came to life with the chandeliers and candles. It was truly something that all of our guests were wow'ed by and we couldn't be more appreciative. It's a great venue for a great price and we loved having our big day at The Brownstone.

Looking for a Midwestern yet elegant wedding venue? Check out The Brownstone! We pulled into the parking lot and took just a couple looks and knew immediately that is where we were going to have our wedding and reception. Also, very professional and caring staff. First class, all around.

From the moment we saw The Brownstone, it was the venue of our dreams. Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect! Looking back there isn’t a single thing that we would change. Abbey and her entire staff handled everything down to the last detail, and made sure that everything ran smoothly. A week before our wedding Abbey called each of our vendors to double check delivery times, etc. and then she emailed an itinerary (for type A people like me this is worth more than anything) she navigated different relationships, personalities and roles not only on the day of the event, but in the months prior as well. We threw a few changes to the layout the morning of the wedding, and her staff didn’t blink an eye. Everyone was incredibly accommodating and made sure that our special day went off without a hitch. The ability to adapt during a wedding/reception is definitely a skill your venue/coordinator should have, and The Brownstone nailed it. Their communication and follow through is top notch. We are forever grateful to The Brownstone for making our special day perfect!!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this venue or the staff! It was all fantastic. We booked last-minute and managed to pull off a 100+ person wedding in 3.5 weeks. Abbey and Val were incredibly helpful in getting that done for us, not to mention rolling with the punches when we needed things! Halfway through the dinner line we realized we were about 20 seats short. What did they do? Pull out two more tables, of course! On top of this amazing staff, the pictures do not lie. It is absolutely stunning. The two bridal suites, groom suite and beautiful outdoor patio are next to none. I highly recommend this venue to any bride who is looking for a venue in Topeka. You won't find another like it!

The Brownstone is amazing!!!! I cannot say enough good things about Abbey and the Browns. The Brownstone was an amazing venue. Abbey worked with me so much before the wedding to make my vision come to life at the Brownstone. They were incredible! So many guests were commenting on how beautiful everything was. Several of the extended family told me that this was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. (This family is also use to going to at least three weddings each summer) There is so much to see at the Brownstone and every part of it shines. I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful wedding and the Brownstone played a part in making my dream a reality!

The staff, our coordinator, just everything was perfect from start to finish. The venue offers everything- every vendor we worked with (our florist, makeup & hair people, caterer, photographer, videographer, etc), were just blown away by all the Brownstone had to offer. Not only that, but Abbey worked tirelessly at coordinating with each vendor to make sure the day of ran smoothly. As the Bride, I did not have a single thing to worry about- every Bride wants that for the day of their wedding! Our wedding party and family hung out at the Brownstone the entire day of the wedding and we all wish we had even more time there! Countless memories were made, and I honestly cannot speak more highly of The Brownstone. They managed to restore an incredible historic barn to a one-of-a-kind venue, while keeping it's natural beauty and history intact.
