Words can not describe the quality of service provided by Ray and Dawn, and the rest of the staff at The Chartiers Room! From long term planning to last minute details, they were on the ball start to finish and helped make our wedding day a flawless success! The venue itself is beautiful and it’s secluded and away from the hustle and bustle of Bridgeville, some say it’s “Bridgeville’s best kept secret” I say it’s Pittsburgh’s best kept secret! There was no concern in our minds at all the day of our wedding, at least in regards to our reception and we knew there wouldn’t be! Anyone on the fence about choosing The Chartiers Room needs to go speak with the consummate professionals that run the venue and within the first few minutes will notice their commitment to detail, perfection and elegance. I could thank the kind folks of The Chartiers Room a thousand times over, and it still wouldn’t be enough.

Ohhh boy- where do I begin!! The chartiers room was the PERFECT venue to have our reception. Ray & Dawn were always communicating with us to make sure our day was flawless. We could not have asked for a better venue to have our reception at!

From our very first meeting, I knew this is where my reception would be. When meeting Ray, his transparency through the hard questions made it known he would be honest throughout the process. This hall is handicap accessible and even has handicap bathrooms. If you use their servers, be prepared to treat be treated with kindness and your guests talking about how polite they were. The bartenders were not only loved by guests, but I appreciate it how as The Bride they learned what I was drinking. When we were setting up, Ray and his wife Dawn jumped right into help. That is something that I have never seen and just proves how above and beyond they go. The day of the wedding, Ray and Dawn continued to make sure everything went smoothly. Our cake decorator even complimented how helpful everyone was. In all, you cannot go with a better venue. The inside is newly renovated and gorgeous. The lighting around the bar and stage allows you to customize it for your event. You combine that with the expertise of Dawn and Ray and there would be no reason not to choose this venue

Start to finish it was an amazing experience. Ray works with vendors so if you do not want to go through the trouble setting up your own, consider it done! Ray made sure we had everything we needed and always in communication. We used the Cooked Goose that he recommended and the food was INCREDIBLE! Everyone talked about it! Photographer, Ken Lager and DJ The Rick also made the day so so special! Everything was easy and smooth! I would recommend this place time and time again! Nothing but an enjoyable process!

My husband and I got married May 13th and had our reception at the Chartiers Room and we truly couldn’t recommend it enough!! Ray & Dawn are such an amazing team- making sure every step of the way we were satisfied with the details and decor! They are BEYOND flexible and were super responsive to any questions or concerns we had leading up to the big day! If you are on the hunt for an affordable yet absolutely beautiful space to host your reception or next event, look no further! The Chartiers room really exceeds ever expectation!

We cannot stop talking about how amazing the Chartiers room and staff are! Ray and Dawn were so on top of things that everything that could make a wedding stressful was handled quickly and quietly. They answered every question we had and helped us plan like we were part of the family!We felt so supported as they consistently checked in on our needs throughout the night. Our guests were impressed with the space and staff as well. We can’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else! Worth every penny! (although they were priced better than other venues we looked at!) I truly do not even know where to start with reviewing Ray and Dawn and the Chartier’s Room. They are two of the nicest people i have ever met, who genuinely get to know their couples as if they are family. If you book Your wedding here, they will truly put all they have into making it the best day of your life. When my husband and I began our wedding planning journey, we looked at over 13 venues. I can’t honestly say that it was meeting with and talking to Ray, and seeing how invested he was in his venue and the couples that were to be married there that sold me on the Charter’s Room. Ray spent HOURS with us, drove us around the area to show us places we could go with our photographer for pictures, helped us locate churches and rehearsal dinner locations and hotels for the night of the wedding. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND any expectation I could have possibly had for a venue coordinator, and then some more. Over the course of the 11 months we plan ed our wedding, Ray and Dawn continuously blew me away with how much “Extra” they did than any other venue i spoke to, how well they got to know us and our parents and bridal party and friends, how well they worked with our other vendors and how professional they were at ALL times. Ray had to have met me at the venue at least 15-20 times so i could ask question after question, play with centerpieces, and bring my family/friends and to DIY decorations. One thing I know for a fact that separates the Chartier’s room from other venues is the flexibility with everything, especially decorating before the wedding. Almost all venues I spoke to allowed you to decorate either for three hours the morning of your actual wedding or 2 to 4 hours the night before. They, not only allowed us to be at the venue Thursday evening, almost all day Friday and Saturday morning, but he was there with us the whole time helping. I know for a fact i would have never found another venue to allow us so much time to set up, especially not someone who would work as hard as they did to help.Ray and Dawn were also SO involved the day of our wedding. From helping the caterer, to bartending, to helping us line up for entrances, to helping my MOH coordinate my sparkler exit, to allowing us to stay at the venue later than my contract stated. They truly became part of the group were so genuinely happy for us. In addition, when I had an issue with another vendor, Ray and Dawn were the first people to try and advocate for me with this vendor. They were honestly angry for me, thats how much they cared! The day after our wedding, Ray not only showed up to help us undecorate (which was not in our contract that he needed to do) but then when i realized I lost my bouquet the day before but couldn’t remember where, he drove around to where he knew we took pictures and LOOKED FOR MY BOUQUET HIMSELF IN THE RAIN! it blew my mind and brought tears to my eyes as he knew how important it was to me because it had charms from my late grandma and my dogs ashes pinned on it. Yet agin, another example of how you wont find another venue Coordinator to care more about you, your day, and your experience.I cannot thank Ray and Dawn, or the Chartiers Room enough. I could’ve gotten married at the fanciest and most expensive venue in PA, but I would never find people like Ray and Dawn who cared so much to go so out of their way to bring my (sometimes difficult, constantly changing, and over the top) dreams to a reality and i am Forever grateful.

As the mother of the groom, I want to let you all know - it was nice stepping back from all the stress with arranging my sons wedding. I met Ray 7 months ago when I went to look at The Chartiers Room with my son and then his fiancé. It’s this hidden gem that I had no idea about. Once we walked in it was like wow!!! Ray sat down and explained everything to us. He has list of DJ’s, and caterers that we could choose from if we wish. My son and his then fiancé did go with people from the list. Which made it so much easier for my son to pick from. My stand point is having someone like Ray and his wife take my son under their wings weeks, days and the day of the wedding to help them with everything. I kept hearing from my son. “Mom, don’t worry, it’s under control” well moms worry all the time.My sons wedding was yesterday Dec 17, 2022 I walked into the hall thinking I was going to need to do something. My son was spot on - Ray and his wife where there for my son all the way until the end!!!! It was a wonderful feeling as a mom knowing that there are truly wonderful people out there like Ray and his wife to have me step back and let someone else help. I highly, highly (not sure how many highly’s I can type) recommend them 110%. I want to Thank Ray and his wife for all their help. The wedding turn out beautiful!

There are not enough amazing and complimentary words in the English language to describe my experience with Ray and his Chartiers Room for my wedding on 11/12/2022. From the beginning (frantic late night messaging him to see if he had my November Saturday date available) to days after our wedding (when he was so accommodating to us during cleanup), Ray and his team were MORE than I ever could have asked for. The price is MORE than fair for what you get (the room, tables, linen package, mixer package, bartenders, more frantic late night messaging about my questions, his own expertise, and ample time to set up prior to the wedding). Our day would not have been the same if it wasn’t at The Chartiers Room. Ray and his team are more than personable, timely in responses, the newly renovated room is STUNNING, and we were even able to customize our lighting choices. There is not a SINGLE complaint about this venue or team that I can think of- I will be screaming about my day here to other brides for the rest of eternity. If you want your venue coordinator to be laughing during your speeches along with your guests, helping you set up, and being right by your side the whole day, THIS is your venue.

When we had some issues setting up, Ray and Dawn were so generous with their time and offering us all the assistance we needed to get all of the decorations in place. I will always appreciate their help in that very stressful situation. They also offer an extremely affordable linen package where set up and tear down is included. Our linens looked amazing and I’m so glad we utilized this add-on. If you are looking for a reception hall in the South Hills, definitely book the Chartiers Room!

Let me just say what an amazing experience we had at our reception at the Chartiers Room. We met with Ray and Dawn in February of 2020 for a tour of the reception hall and even know we had tours setup with other places, we decided to look no further. They explained everything answered any questions we had and offered us other amazing vendors. The day we came in to decorate we were blown away at the transformation of the hall. Let me just say what an amazing experience we had at our reception at the Chartiers Room. We met with Ray and Dawn in February of 2020 for a tour of the reception hall and even know we had tours setup with other places, we decided to look no further. They explained everything answered any questions we had and offered us other amazing vendors. The day we came in to decorate we were blown away at the transformation of the hall. It was so awesome, I cried. There was not one thing I could find that was not perfect. The day of the reception, everything looked so gorgeous. The staff was so helpful, kind, and friendly. I was able to call and text whenever I needed help figuring something out, had questions, or adding final touches and needed opinions. We also had to switch things around for the day of our wedding to have our ceremony inside.. we initially had our ceremony somewhere else but due to weather, we had to make the change 2 days before the wedding day. He and his wife made everything smooth and easy and were very sympathetic and accommodated as best they could to make our day special! And they did just that! Everything was so easy with them and it really took alot of stress off our plate. Especially with the pandemic being so unpredictable, they always made sure that no matter what they would help make our day everything we wanted it to be! I highly reccomend them for any occasion!

Our experience in dealing with the chartiers room was absolutely incredible! They give you enough freedom to make the day exactly what you want it to be. Dawn and Ray were so on top of everything it honestly felt like there was nothing we had to worry about. Their staff is is as helpful and as professional as you could ever imagine and the venue is absolutely beautiful. I can’t think of any way our day could’ve been more perfect. I would recommend the chartiers room 10 out of 10 times for anybody’s wedding it truly is the most perfect experience.

Ray and Dawn at the Chartiers Room are awesome. The prices are extremely reasonable. They help you to choose the perfect vendors such as the DJ and caterer. They also allowed us to use their centerpieces and many of their decorations which saved us a great deal of money. The venue is back in a private location which was also useful. Ray and Dawn are both hard working and it is obvious that they care about all of the couples and they want you to have a perfect day.Ray also was nice enough to take us to different locations right around the venue to show us where we could take the perfect pictures.There are only a couple of complaints that I personally had, but everyone's experience is different. My family and I spent alot of time making a ton of cookies. At the end of the night there were many left over, I assumed they would be covered and I could put them in the containers the next day when I picked up my items. However, all of the cookies were thrown away. I wish I would have been asked what I wanted done with them. If they would have told me they were going to throw them away I would have stayed that night and packaged them all myself.Also, as I stated before, Ray and Dawn are both absolutely amazing. However, I did get slightly nervous as you are in contact with one giving details and then the other will call and ask you the same details rather than having it all written down and communicating.Overall, my husband and I loved our experience at the Chartiers Room. They were extremely accommodating with all of our desires and we have an absolutely amazing day. I had such a great time and did not want it to end. For anyone wanting to have a wedding here, I would recommend it at a 9 out of 10.

We just got married on April 6 and had our reception at The Chartiers Room and to say that it was everything we imagined would be an understatement! Ray and Dawn were so incredibly helpful throughout the entire process from beginning to end. They were always there to lend a hand or offer their opinions. They transformed the hall into the wedding reception of our dreams! It turned out so much better than we ever imagined! I had my bridal shower there as well and Dawn was so helpful in that planning process as well! I couldn't be happier! Ray and Dawn take pride in this business and are there to help you. I got so many compliments on how beautiful the reception was from many of our guests! You won't be disappointed!!

The Chartier’s room was an extraordinary find. This past February, we had our wedding at the Chartier’s. The Chartier’s staff, led by Ray and Dawn, did a fabulous job coordinating our wedding. They were so very helpful and considerate during the planning and execution of the event. Ray and Dawn were always helpful and answered our questions in a very timely manner. They were also very personable and went out of their way to help us during every step of the process. Whenever bride, groom, and or MOH was worried about any detail, the refrain of “call Ray” could be heard; inevitably, all fears, worries, and fights were assuaged. Although we had unique ideas that Ray and Dawn helped us to bring to life, we were new to the planning process and unsure how to choose and plan many details. Ray and Dawn are NOT pushy, but they are very experienced and helpful when you don’t know what to do. Their list of preferred vendors made everything so much simpler, as well. After looking at the room, seeing the size, and hearing the price we knew immediately that it was a no brainer. We had to celebrate our new life together at The Chartiers Room with our friends and families. Setting up the room the day before was incredible. I loved seeing my vision come to life and upon walking into our reception as husband and wife, the room looked even better than when we left it the night before with the uplighting and illuminated table skirts.I know you’ll feel the same way when you see it, too. The Chartiers Room is a no brainer!

We used the Cooked Goose as our caterer and everyone raved about how amazing it was! DJ Lazz made the night so fun by keeping everyone on the dance floor! The hall was so clean and beautiful with the linens and chair covers/ sashes! Also, there is a big screen that we were able to play a slideshow on of pictures of my husband and I growing up for the guests to watch throughout the night! I could not have dreamed for a more perfect wedding day!

The staff and management at The Chartiers Room exceeded all of my expectations. They guaranteed that our special day went off without a hitch which is such a huge relief. It was absolutely memorable. I cannot thank them enough for their service and kindness to us during our planning process through the day of the wedding. They answered all of our questions in a timely manner and kept communication open leading up to the event to guarantee nothing was forgotten. They made us feel at ease which meant so much to us. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but I assure you that the staff at The Chartiers Room will relieve any stress you have regarding the Reception. They graciously helped us with setting up the venue the week of the wedding and added on finishing touches to make the venue perfect for the Reception. Our wedding took place in June 2017 and we are so pleased that we chose The Chartiers Room for reception venue. The venue is clean, accessible, and conveniently located. We loved that the venue was reasonably priced and flexible with the different elements we wanted to have at our reception. Many other venues are strict with what clients can and cannot bring, as well as strict with venue access times, but The Chartiers Room worked with us and around our schedules and budget. We looked around at other venues and couldn't find the quality and convenience that The Chartiers Room offers, let alone at their price point!As for the staff on hand, we were so lucky to have the best of the best. The quality of customer service at The Chartiers Room is, hands down, the best in the area. Ray was extremely hard-working, pleasant, and made himself available to answer questions via call, text, and email. He worked with us diligently from the moment we set up a consultation through our cleanup day. Ray gave us awesome and honest recommendations for vendors and even offered suggestions for other elements of the reception, far above and beyond what a venue facilitator/coordinator would usually do. Ray was on-site during our setup and throughout the reception and made sure that everything ran smoothly. He took care of things behind the scenes and gave realistic and helpful advice for reception timeline planning and scheduling. He worked well with our catering company, and was amazing with helping during cocktail hour and the cake cutting/serving. Our venue experience was great to begin with, but Ray definitely made the process positive, smooth, and memorable.Our guests loved everything about our reception, and we can't thank Ray and The Chartiers Room enough for making our wedding day memorable. The Chartiers Room is truly Bridgeville's best kept secret. Thank you for everything!

We had our wedding at the Chartiers Room on 12/31/2016. I can't say enough good things about our experience there. As a wedding dj who has experienced weddings in various venues in & surrounding Pittsburgh, I am very familiar with how many vendors in the wedding industry over charge for just about everything. My goal from the start was to locate a venue that was spacious, good looking, and fair priced. Upon narrowing it down to a very small number of places, the Chartiers Room is where we landed. Ray & Dawn put it over the top by making the whole planning process very simple. They had recommendations for catering companies, among others. They also provided their own in house linen services for tables & chairs that was offered at a price that could not be beat by anyone in the city. Their recommendation of the Cooked Goose as a caterer earned a lot of compliments from guests as well. The whole experience was very personable & when it was all said and done, we felt as though we had a big budget wedding executed for half the price. We can't thank them enough for making our big day so memorable. I would highly recommend the Chartiers Room be one of the first places you check out when wedding planning.

It's newly updated and the price was very reasonable for the hall rental ($800)and the caterer we chose was such a great value ($22/person). We were also able to bring in our own alcohol, and for 225 guests was more affordable. The only downside was we had to pay $2.50/person for the pop and use of the drink \"guns.\" We also found it difficult to get ahold of the fireman at times but everything worked out. It was so nice to be able to decorate exactly how I wanted and we got so many compliments of the venue, food, and decor. The fireman were so nice, one even helped carry my grandmothers plate for her while she got her food. I think it's definately worth checking out!

My name is Ray Costain and I have been serving wedding clients in the Pittsburgh region for the last ten years. Our success is attributed to the fact that our customer service is second to none and our reviews show just that. Every customer receives my personal cell number and I take calls from 9am- 11pm seven day a week.
