An Urban Boutique Event Space

The Cheney Place is a warehouse for those who can't wait to design their "urban meets vintage meets modern" wedding. We hope our building will woo you with its polished concrete and original hardwood floors, its frosted warehouse windows, and it's turn of the century freight elevator. The open format and crazy flexible space screams of possibility. And we just happen to host the area's largest collection of vintage furniture rentals onsite to make design a whole lot easier. We love old buildings. And we love great design. But what we really love is pulling it all together to help you create an amazing day! TCP is absolutely incredible! Starting off with staff communications- they were so great about following up, sending over details, offering various times to meet up, providing endless options, and making sure our day ran as smoothly as humanly possible. The Space- It's so charming, unique, romantic and funky all in one! We had the dreamiest day in their space. The elevator as an entrance to walk down the isle was so cool and I wouldn't have changed a single thing. The Team- Their coordinators and event staff are some of the best in the business. I can't stress that enough. They made sure everything was beyond perfect, helped keep my stress levels down all day long and made sure to put their creative spin on things if it wasn't specified. I couldn't recommend the venue and their team more. They were OUTSTANDING.

Where do we even begin?! The Cheney Place was the perfect venue to host our wedding day. Not only was the venue beautiful and unique, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day. The coordination services they offer are such an added bonus - especially when you're working with these ladies! Sara and Ali were so lovely to work with throughout the entire process. We wish we could leave more than 5 stars!

We were disappointed with how our reception went at The Cheney Place and the lack of communication amongst everyone the night of our wedding. My husband had to take charge of moving guests from cocktail hour to the reception because our day of coordinator (provided by TCP) left for the day. Dinner ended up being served 45 minutes late due to staff disregarding the specific timeline we lined out, discussed, and agreed upon prior to the wedding. I will say, leading up to the wedding the communication was great and the staff was very helpful. Just be prepared to have a lot of “extras” to pay for that are required through The Cheney Place (linens, alcohol, getting there an hour early, etc) and don’t get caught delaying signing your contracts for these things because they will raise the cost before informing you. We had high hopes for loving our reception at the Cheney place given a lot of positive reviews, but unfortunately it was not all the we had hoped and paid for.

Not only did we receive countless compliments on the space itself and the beauty in it all the staff, coordinators and all involved are truly amazing!! The morning of I was able to get ready and enjoy the amazing cocktail hour space, staff truly had the answers to everything, checked in on us frequently to ensure that we were happy and just overall made my wedding day run very smoothly! I cannot recommend this venue enough! I would 10/10 recommend this venue for any special event that you are having!! 🙂 Thank you TCP for making my wedding day, the best day ever!!

You can definitely tell how much they care about you as an individual and are genuinely excited for you throughout the whole process. Colleen was amazing to us as a coordinator and she made sure everything went so smoothly. I loved this venue and will treasure this day forever thank you ❤️

The Cheney Place is amazing!! They made planning my wedding an absolute breeze! I worked with many people there including Ali, Hannah and Meg and they were all so nice and amazing to work with! I did not have a wedding planner for my big day but working with the Cheney Place made it feel like I had a built in wedding planner! Meg was my day of coordinator and she was so great! Not only is she very nice but she was SO helpful and her and her team nailed my reception decor! It was seriously better than what I even imagined! The venue itself is an absolute dream! Many of my guests told me it was the coolest wedding venue they have ever been to (which I completely agree) The bridal suite was amazing! My bridesmaids and I had so much room to get ready in and it really made our day run smoothly! There are so many different places to take pictures in and around the venue that my bridal party didn’t even need to leave the venue to get the most beautiful pictures! We also utilized their bar package PUNCH which was also great! We used their linen company fringe and they crushed it as well! We also used their photobooth and our guests loved it! Thank you Cheney Place! You seriously made our wedding planning and day so so perfect!

Stop looking for any other wedding venue-- YOU HAVE FOUND THE ONE!!!!! I honestly don't even know where to begin. Ali and Colleen are two of the KINDEST souls you will ever meet and helped me create the wedding beyond my WILDEST dreams. They are quite literally, the best wedding coordinators on planet earth. I credit the two of them for making my entire wedding process as easy as I could have ever hoped for. I am truly sad my wedding is over because I will not have the joy of working with these wonderful humans again. The venue speaks for itself and pictures do not give the venue justice (and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL-- so imagine it in person). The second I stepped through the front door of TCP I knew I found my perfect venue. If I could relive my wedding day over and over again, I would. I have had countless guests from my wedding compliment the venue and the individuals who worked my wedding day. Thank you will never be enough but it is a start... thank you TCP!!!!!!!!!!

TCP is the best venue EVER!!!!! I seriously could write a novel on how amazing my experience was from start to finish. Not only is the venue STUNNNING - the staff is incredible. One of the first things that we loved about this venue was that the staff was essentially your day of coordinators - and they were all AMAZING! They helped ensure everything ran smoothly and on time, and were able to answer all of our questions. They also allow you to drop off decor anytime on the week of your wedding, which was so helpful so we didn't have to bring it all the morning of. We loved this venue!

The Cheney Place was the perfect place for our wedding, with unique spaces for the entire day. The first floor is such a beautiful, blank canvas, and the team at The Cheney Place were so easy to work with to bring our vision to life. Between the sofas and other pieces available to decorate the space and the ability to transform the space between ceremony and reception, any design seemed feasible. The other spaces were equally great. The third floor was perfect for photos, especially during the winter. And our guests loved the second floor for cocktail hour! The decor and variety of seating spaces were appreciated by everyone. The only hiccup was with the photo booth printer, which wasn’t working. But the team did compensate us and sent both the digital and physical prints afterwards. However, there are a few items to know ahead of time with their in-house bar service, Punch. They have a “no glass after dancing starts” policy, which means they switch to plastic cups. The ones provided are very basic, so we opted to purchase our own plasticware. Additionally, they gave us a pretty hard time when it came to which cocktails we were allowed to serve. While there are some sensible restrictions in the contract, when it came time to finalize our menu, they initially told us certain others were not allowed; we ultimately were able to work through it. With that said, their service is very affordable and customizable, which we loved.

If you are getting married in Grand Rapids, you must book The Cheney Place. Not only is the venue gorgeous and unique, but the staff that help you out along the way are top notch. We worked with Sara and she was fantastic. I was a bride that asked a lot of questions and really wanted consistent communication via email - and Sara did just that. I never felt like an email was going unanswered or that I was unsure of what what needed from me. Anyone working at the venue is knowledge and will help you bring your vision to life. Guests will love the cocktail hour space upstairs, and the reception area is perfect for anyone looking for a modern industrial look. The staff put all of our decor out perfectly the day of, and it is amazing that they help you pack things up and make the end of the night super simple. I promise this venue is where you should get married!

The Cheney Place is the best venue around!!!!!! Not only is it gorgeous, but everyone who works there is kind, helpful, and 1000% knows what they are doing! We specifically worked closely with Abby who was fun, caring, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Seriously the day went PERFECT because of them! Every person at our wedding commented on how beautiful the venue is and my friends told me everyone who walked upstairs to cocktail hour mentioned how cool it is up there. The elevator entrance was so fun and made the day even more memorable. My bridesmaids told me watching me come down made them sob even more. Seriously you won't regret booking with this venue!! They are organized and were so helpful during the days leadings up to the wedding.

We absolutely loved this venue! The Cheney staff were amazing with all their help, from preparing beforehand to the day of. It took so much stress off us with there assistance during the day. The place is beautiful on every floor, especially the cocktail/second floor, which every one of our guests complimented. They also allow you to have options for a caterer, instead of only one, which made it possible for us to have one of our favorite meals (nachos!) for the dinner. We highly recommend this venue for others and can't thank the staff/venue enough for everything they did!

I used to run past this nondescript building and was always curious what was inside until I saw a wedding party leave. When we got engaged, it was the last place we toured but the second we walked out the door, we knew it was the one.The second floor is full of fun vintage furniture and decorations that became talking points during happy hour. With that, very little additional decor is needed. And the furniture selection they had was phenomenal.Also, having the grand entrance come from the freight elevator added just enough dramatic effect without going too crazy.The staff was there from beginning to the end of the planning process. They were flexible with our work schedules for meetings and made us more relaxed on the day of knowing they were handling the vendor deliveries and reception decoration without too many questions. They calmed my nerves while standing in the elevator. Just all around fantastic staff.I'm so happy we chose The Cheney Place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a venue.

The Cheney Place is such a wonderful, beautiful place to get married filled with amazing people that will care so deeply about your wedding. We had such a perfect day getting married at the Cheney Place. All our guests raved about the venue and my husband and i can’t stop talking about how helpful and caring the staff at the Cheney place was, especially our day of coordinator Abby who made sure that everything went off perfectly. She coordinated with our vendors and made the day as stress free as it possibly could have been. We also used their Photo Booth service and it was such a huge hit with our guests. Everyone loved getting their photo strips. We cannot recommend the Cheney Place enough.

We got married at TCP on 9/30/2022 and we were simply blown away by the work they did! Everyone went above and beyond from the very beginning after booking with them. The communication was always seamless and I felt like my vision for the wedding was always heard. The day of, our coordinator, Abby was so amazing.. she spent so much time making sure all of the small details for our day were perfect and they truly were! The day went so smoothly without a single hiccup.. they coordinated with our other amazing vendors and made sure everything arrived on time. I thought the space was beautiful when we first toured but when it was finally set up for our wedding I was almost brought to tears. Just stunning!! Thank you so much to all of the staff at The Cheney Place that truly made our wedding one of the best nights of our lives :)

I knew this was where I wanted to get married from the initial walk through / tour. They make you feel taken care of and comfortable from the start. Always willing to work with you on your ideas and visions. The staff onsite is extremely helpful from the start of the day to the very end. I can honestly say I went through my wedding day without an ounce of stress and a lot of that is owed to them. Our guests loved the space and how unconventional it was to the typical venue. They also raved about the amount of photo opportunities there are upstairs during the cocktail hour. I also chose this venue because you don't need to spend a lot on décor, the space speaks for itself. Lastly, to the ladies who assisted me with my dress, who accompanied me in the elevator, and were there until the very end of the night, I greatly appreciate you!

AMAZING! Please do yourself a favor and book with this outstanding venue. From the moment my husband and I walked in the doors to tour the venue we were blown away by the kindness, openness and willingness to help each of the employees shared. Each time we spoke with them via email, phone, or in person after one of our many in-person meetings they were incredible. We lived across the state and they were always able to accommodate our needs and the dates we had available while planning our wedding. I truly believe our wedding was as much of a success as it was because of them. They literally set everything up, take it down, bring you champagne the morning before in the beautiful bridal suite, and calm your nerves as you're about to walk down the aisle. There really is no need for a coordinator day of because they are there to assist you through it all. WE LOVE THE CHENEY PLACE!

BEST EVER!! From inquiry to wedding day, TCP made planning very easy. We traveled from CO to MI for our wedding and they ensured we were well taken care of every step of the way. TCP was easy to communicate with, extremely professional, and very accommodating. Their day of coordinators were EXCELLENT!! We cannot give enough praise to this establishment! Our guests are still complimenting how unique, clean, and beautiful this venue is! 10/10 recommend!!

I will add to the litany of glowing reviews for The Cheney Place. It is one of the area’s best venues, and I 100% recommend it. The “vintage industrial chic” vibe is so unique and was exactly what we were looking for–we knew the instant we walked in the door for the tour that this was it. We got so many compliments about how cool and unique the venue was, and that it was as if the place was created specifically for us. But the looks are just the starting point of why the Cheney Place is awesome:-Included in the cost of the venue is the help of the fantastic staff. We had a ton of vintage glassware that went on the tables in a specific order; they set it all up for us beautifully, which I’m sure was extra work for them. They are rockstars. They will do pretty much all of your day-of setup and teardown for you, which is something that none of the other venues I researched in the area do, and I researched quite a few. They literally set all of the tables, put all of the flowers where they should go, set up all of the chairs and ceremony seating, etc. This is HUGE–you and your family won’t have to do any of it. You can also drop off decor earlier in the week, and pick it up the week after. (You do need to take flowers and perishables home with you the night of.)-The staff are also absolute pros at running events. Throughout the planning process, they keep you on track by setting up meetings to confirm vendors, floor plan, etc. with you. They do basic day-of coordination for you, like getting the wedding party lined up on time, and ushering guests to and from cocktail hour. They are also super professional and nice, and they always answered our many emails promptly and kindly. -Cost is right in line with similar venues in the area, but in my opinion a much better value because of all the things that are included in the cost. Pricing for certain days, like the Sunday we had to choose anyway (lots of dates were already filled due to pandemic overflow), was especially affordable and also included some fun free upgrades like fancier ceremony seating and a photo booth.-Included in the cost of the venue is a “rental credit” you get to use to pick out fun furniture from their extensive warehouse of really fun vintage furniture. Again, they move it into place for you day-of, so all you have to do is the fun part of picking it out. -It’s EASY–you can get ready there in the lovely space they have for it. Parking is free and fairly ample. If you have the ceremony there, afterward all the guests have to do is walk upstairs to cocktail hour. A couple of considerations that may matter to you:-If you want alcohol, you are required to use their bar service, PUNCH, and the only model they offer is per head pricing. This was not a problem for us because that’s what we wanted anyway, and also PUNCH was great. Since the bar is a permanent in-house feature, it’s decorated all cute, with real glassware that’s included in the cost. -You’re also required to choose from their list of approved caterers (you can get dessert from wherever you want). Again, this was not a problem for us because that makes the choice easier, and this way we knew we were working with a caterer that was familiar with the venue, and which the venue approved of as being quality. -It’s a lower-light venue, which can make photos a little trickier. We just made sure we chose a photographer we knew could handle this kind of lighting situation well.

The Cheney Place was the best choice we made for our wedding. With how many events they host, they make you feel like your wedding is the only one in the books and are so attentive to all of your questions, visions, and concerns. This venue is truly what you make of it - I had so much fun creating a space that was unique to us as a couple, and it made it feel much more intimate. Our guests were raving about the venue, many saying it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. Our day-of-coordinator, Ali, did a fantastic job ensuring everything was perfectly decorated the way I had hoped and that the vendors who were coming in to decorate/set-up knew where to go and what to do. Also, the staff who was there to run the event were awesome. Truly could not say enough good things about this venue.

The Cheney Place is an amazing venue with spectacular staff. Our day was perfect and our guests couldn't get over how beautiful the venue was. I cannot say enough good things about this venue. They are so great to work with. From replying to emails quick to making sure every detail is perfect. Aly was amazing and so so helpful with the entire day! They made sure all the decor was set up flawlessly, and even tear it all down at the end of the night so you can pick it up the next day, they also made sure everything was running on time and smoothly, I cannot recommend this venue enough!! And the space is soooo unbelievably beautiful, makes for the most perfect pictures 🤍

Truly the best decision we could have made for our wedding! Not only do you get the most beautiful, unexpected, and interesting venue, but you get a team of wedding planners that help you coordinate food, drinks, decor, and so much more! From the gorgeous bridal suite to the adorable second floor cocktail space, this venue is perfect. The team was so helpful, kind, and easy to work with. Oh, and the natural lighting!! Wow. We cannot express in words how glad we are to have booked the Cheney Place for our wedding. The perks are pretty much endless, but here are a few that meant most to us: a team of employees who worked hard to set up and tear down our decor so our families could simply be present with us and enjoy the wedding day, incredibly communicative staff throughout the whole planning process, the ability to drop off most of our decor the week before our wedding and pick it up the following week, an absolutely beautiful bridal suite and groom space, a venue that's so wonderful it barely needs any decor to shine, a whole warehouse of vintage furniture to use during our reception... I could go on! There are so many elements of the Cheney Place that simply can't be replicated elsewhere without paying a whole lot more money, and we'll forever be grateful for their attention to detail, kindness, and hard work in creating a perfect wedding day.

We recently held our wedding reception at The Cheney Place, and we highly recommend you do the same!!! We booked TCP because of how beautiful the space is and how helpful their staff is. We held our cocktail hour on the second floor, which is STUNNINGLY decorated with vintage furniture & decor! The main floor is beautiful as-is, and any decorations you are thinking of adding are sure to look perfect with the space as well. We loved being able to customize our floor plan and choose which vintage furniture was used. We did hire a wedding planner, but our TCP coordinator, Quinn, was so helpful in coordinating with vendors & our wedding planner! Everything went so smoothly during the reception and we are so happy we booked with The Cheney Place!

This venue is full of fun and different experiences for you and your guests at every corner! So many of our guests after the wedding commented on how beautiful, unique, cool, and fun our wedding venue was! The staff, especially Carmen, are amazing too! We had to postpone a year due to Covid, and they were very flexible and accommodating towards our situation. Due to being pushed out a year, we did have some miscommunications, but nothing that ruined the day. We are very thankful for this crew and romantic, unique venue! It was also so fun picking our vintage furniture for the ceremony and reception! I also recommend upgrading your ceremony to include the chandeliers, some of my favorite touches! Also, the elevator entrance for the bride is EPIC! Was the perfect touch to celebrate our love! And so fun that it's downtown GR!

If they had 6 stars, I would rate them that! The minute we walked into the venue, we knew that was where we were going to spend our special day. Every time we walked into the space, we felt welcomed and trusted. We were able to pop in and walk around the space without feeling watched every minute, and felt that our creativity could fly! The ability hang items from the ceiling, and the endless amount of support from the staff was out of this world. I think so many reasons why my day went so well, was because of Carmen and Megan throughout the entire day. They had it handled. The venue itself was amazing and so so so unique. I loved working with them, but also felt they were the right people to make sure my day went so well. I can't say thank you enough. Between handling the details, planning process prior, and packing all of my items up at night, it made the day amazing. The staff is what sets this place apart. If you are considering going to look here, you'd be silly not to choose it. I mean come on, who doesn't want to come down in an industrial elevator?! Just saying. Thank you so so much! My day was perfect, but wouldn't have gone on without you.

The Cheney Place was the perfect wedding venue! First of all, it’s beautiful and unique. Our ceremony was picture perfect, and the cocktail hour seating on the second floor is straight out of a magazine!All of the preliminary meetings with our Cheney Place day-of planner were delightful and stress-free, and everything went off without a hitch! They have a great staff and excellent planners. They even set up and tear down your decorations for you, so we were able to fully enjoy the evening!The Cheney Place also connected us with incredible vendors who all have a great relationship with the venue and work together seamlessly. We can’t recommend The Cheney Place enough!

Unprofessional and rude about the situation. They will have you sign your money away and take everything they can get. They are also not accommodating to couples that are not local.

We were supposed to get married March 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic prevented that from happening--12 days before our scheduled date. The Cheney Place was really understanding and worked with us to postpone our wedding to November 2020. Over the summer, we decided to get married in a small backyard ceremony. The Cheney Place again came through! We were able to use our Fancy Fray credit and spruce up our backyard with gold chairs, a drink basin, two gorgeous accent tables, and a loveseat. The vintage pieces really transformed and elevated our space! We worked with Jenna and she kept us informed of our options and helped us navigate our planning throughout the summer. We even got to meet her when she delivered the Fancy Fray furniture! Given the current state of the pandemic, we were offered another fallback date for November 2021. Hopefully we'll have a chance to hold our reception and celebrate with all of our guests safely next fall!

I would not recommend this place. When planning a wedding every couple hopes for it to go smoothly and for it to be a little piece of heaven, the Chaney place offers a glimpse into hell. Instead of working WITH their brides and grooms they work them for all their money. During this pandemic we often see people coming together to help one another through these stressful times but instead the Chaney Place is using this pandemic to take advantage of couples. I hope they don’t hose anymore couples like they have been but Ben will do his best to talk in circles and get a dime out of anyone he can. He is only worried about money, not the couple.

I highly recommend the Cheney Place for a wedding venue! The staff was there every step of the way to help plan our wedding! Every time I spoke with someone from the Cheney Place I could feel how much they loved helping couples plan their happily ever after. I think all of our guests enjoyed having the wedding all in one place, no worry about getting lost. It was very nice to be able to separate the ceremony/reception from the cocktail hours on different floors. And all the vintage furniture made it so cozy! My husband and I got married at the Cheney Place last month, and everything was a DREAM - from our first tour of the venue all the way through our wedding day. Stephanie and all the gals at TCP are beyond amazing and go above and beyond. Stephanie made everything so relaxed, fun, and easy on our wedding day and made sure we didn’t have anything to stress about. We were so grateful to be able to fully and completely enjoy every minute of our special day, thanks to her! She is a total rockstar at her job, and we are so grateful to have worked with her.In addition to TCP’s top notch hospitality, this venue is absolutely amazing. All of the beautiful furniture and little details are thoughtfully designed and curated. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue and experience for our wedding! Our only wish is that we could do it again! We would highly recommend getting married here if you’re in the market for a beautiful and unique space for your wedding!

If I could give more stars I would. TCP does everything for you! I remember going on our tour and mentioning that we are making all of our decorations. They said they would take a box of decorations if I had it and do all the work...they meant it! The Thursday before our wedding, we dropped of 2-3 carts worth of decorations and they made everything appear out of a fairytale. They even put together our seating chart (after my husband finished building it!). Its seamless to work with their PUNCH Bar Service and Fancy Fray (extra cute seating, extra chandeliers, etc.). They even have a day of coordinator who manages everything and makes sure everything is set up working with your master of Ceremonies. They help us time the processional, walked us through everything! We didnt do a formal \"practice\" Rehearsal and with how the TCP helps day of we definitely didn't need it! If you want a unique venue with a lot of character and people who are passionate about making you and your future spouses day with family and friends extra special, the TCP is the way to go.

We got married at TCP on 12/7/19 and we would do it all over again 100 times over. BOOK EARLY! This is a hot venue for good reason. Our coordinator Stephanie was sweet, organized and thorough throughout the 1.5 year planning process. Every question answered (some before I even asked them), every accommodation made and every worry subdued.The venue is beautiful and very little decor is needed which is why we loved it! Less work! They also assist with set up and tear down for you (try finding a venue like that anywhere else!). Because the venue is so popular I was worried our experience would've feel unique or special (there was literally a wedding the night before ours) but they really put all their attention and love into YOUR special moment that you feel like the only bride of the year. Going down the freight elevator is a must! Getting ready onsite in the suite, also a must! Do it all, you won't regret it. Just take every moment in because you wont want it to end. My grandma is still texting me things like \"I can't believe how neat that place is!\" :) Do it. Just do it.

This venue knows how to run a wedding. They are all so sweet and understanding and professional. I probably sent 100 emails over the course of the planning process, and each one was answered. Not to mention the venue itself is incredible, I think every one of our guests mentioned how beautiful and unique it was. I did not have one bit of worry about anything day-of, they literally took care of everything, from moving decor to helping us set-up the music, to breaking everything down at the end of the night. I did not have to do anything except enjoy myself and be with our guests. My husband also complimented the staff and venue, and he is tough to please. It really was an amazing experience from start to finish. If you are thinking about booking, do it!

Wow! Wow! Wow! In a million years, never would I choose a different venue. The Cheney Place staff are AMAZING! Not only was our wedding ceremony and reception gorgeous, but the behind the scenes work of the staff is incredible. First of all, the venue has so much character that we did minimal decorations for both ceremony and reception. Second, my wedding day was legit, not exaggerating, stress-free thanks to The Cheney Place staff. They contacted all of my other vendors weeks in advance to make sure all was in order and made the entire day go off without a hitch (other than my husband and I actually getting hitched). It would be safe to say that when you book with The Cheney Place, you're not only getting a beautiful building for your venue, but you're really getting a wedding planning service included. It's amazing. Seriously, could not be more happy with how our entire event turned out at The Cheney Place. You would be insane not to book with them!

When they tell you that they don't want you to worry about anything, they mean it! And I can say whole-heartedly, my husband and I did not have to worry about a thing. She walked beside us through the entire planning process (...we had NO idea what we were doing!!). She was always available, honest, and willing to answer even the silliest of questions!! On the day of our wedding, Stephanie was so incredibly kind and empathetic to the variety of emotions everyone felt! She made sure every person knew where to be and what to do! Because of her and EVERYTHING that the Cheney Place offers, my husband and I didn’t have a single worry on the day of our wedding! It was more perfect than I could have ever imagined!!!!

The Cheney Place is outstanding!!! Hands down! you never know how your wedding day will go and if everyone will remember all the details you so carefully planned. The Cheney Place made sure everything was perfect and Stephanie was absolutely amazing to work with. She kept me at ease through the entire process. They made our wedding day perfect and kept the good vibes all day. This venue is so beautiful and the ability to select your furniture/decor options and work with someone along the way was very helpful for my husband and I. I loved the ability to have my own bridal suite to get ready with my girls with plenty of space and fabulous decor. Absolutely loved our day and highly recommend The Cheney Place!

Nothing short of amazing!! Can’t say enough about how wonderful the Cheney Place staff was in helping us plan our “Midwest destination” wedding. We planned our wedding from Chicago and had no idea about the wedding vendor scene in GR. All of their recommendations blew us away- and all of Aubree and Steph’s help made our day so perfect!! From the vintage china, to the chandeliers, coordination with all of our other vendors, caterer and rehearsal dinner recommendations, they literally had great suggestions for it all. I felt so comfortable and good about all of their advice, checking in, planning, and day of coordination. We loved that they organized all of the set up and tear down, making it so easy for our guests to enjoy themselves and none of us having to stick around to pick up at the end of the reception. The space is so unique and all of our guests were so full of compliments on how wonderful it all was- from the cocktail hour decor, to the cute bars and so many beers on tap! Our day went so smoothly and the staff were sure to follow the timeline, keep things moving and make sure our guests were taken care of. 100% wouldHighly recommend and loved every moment of our day! A huge thanks to Steph, Aubree and Jenna! If we could do it all again i would at TCP in a heartbeat :)

The Cheney Place is a unique feel that can satisfy any bride. This space was perfect the best day of my life. My guests were amazed with the second floor look & feel, and the coordinators were able to answer all my questions and make my day perfect. Wow! Where do I begin? The Cheney Place was worth every single penny we paid for it. Not only is this venue full of gorgeous vintage furniture and fun details, but the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We hosted our ceremony and reception here, and it was the most stress-free and relaxed day. Jenna, the Venue Manager, was an absolute dream to work with. From the minute we first met with her to the follow up after the big day, she was on top of everything. She responded to emails almost immediately and brought my wedding's vision to life. Even when I changed some things last minute, it wasn't a problem. It was like having a wedding planner without paying for a wedding planner! Jenna did all the coordinating for the timing and put everything in place to make our big day extra special.On the day of our wedding, Jenna and her staff organized everything, setting up tables and coordinating with vendors. I was able to completely relax. She told us where to go and what to do the whole day, so we didn't have to think about anything. I can honestly say that the day was perfect and perfectly executed. If I got married again, I'd choose The Cheney Place in a heartbeat. Fancy Fray, the vintage furniture rental, and PUNCH, the TCP bar, were absolutely amazing, too. Fancy Fray's selection was amazing. We were able to handpick everything. And the bar had a drink ready for me every time I went up to them.So much love to this vendor. Nothing bad to say about them at all! If you're wavering, just go for it! It's worth it!

We’re still pinching ourselves that we got to have our wedding at The Cheney Place. My husband and I were planning our wedding from Los Angeles and relied a lot on the Internet for our initial planning. We wanted to capture a certain feeling, and our goal for evening (aside from getting married, hehe) was to make everyone we love feel relaxed and taken care of. And we wanted our families to be guests, too, and not have to worry about anything (i.e. teardown the event at the end of the night.)Stellar reviews, unbelievable photos and the fact that the space could contain our big, fat Irish wedding lured us in but we were sold by the positive vibe The Cheney Place owners and staff put out there. You get so much bang for your buck. I couldn’t even fathom what a similar venue in Los Angeles would cost.The staff was attentive and organized from the very beginning. Every email was returned quickly and with care. They’ve seen everything and know how to care for their clients. Their internal business systems work great. I always knew what to expect and when to expect it. Weeks before the event, they gather your vendor list and itinerary and take it from there. (We also got so much positive feedback from our vendors about the staff at TCP.) I was so giddy I’d check the hashtag or check in on Instagram every weekend and see how brides and grooms made that wonderful space their own. I could hardly believe we’d get to join that club soon.The space is gorgeous and well designed. I didn’t fret about decorations because every nook and cranny of the venue is an Instagram buffet. They also had us drop off our details (linens, memory table frames, card table materials, half our centerpieces) a few days before and they took care of assembling. Bonus, they boxed everything up for us to pick up after the wedding. They even helped us get creative when our guest list fluctuated and our Fancy Fray rental plans changed.We had a blast getting ready in the bridal suite and the guys in the grooms lounge. Our bridal party kept saying “I want to live here.” Join the club, I’d say.The staff even helped us pull off a few little surprises — a fun rented dance floor under the disco balls, surprise decorations and signature drinks, etc — all while we were away at the church. We couldn’t wait to show it off to our guests. And it didn’t disappoint. We got so many compliments about how beautiful our wedding was and we loved seeing everyone have fun sneaking selfies or glam photos.The only fragment of a hiccup we encountered was when TCP acquired their own liquor license during our planning time. The choice came after we had a contract with their preferred bar service. Jenna and Ryan, of the venue’s bar service PUNCH, were understanding and helped reach an agreement with a similar quote of our previous agreement. We were very happy with the outcome.One note for the comment box? A couple of the white folding chairs broke during our event. Thank you, thank you to Jenna, Stephanie, Aubree and Ben (and anyone I could have missed, your passion and hard work do not go unnoticed). You have a special space. It’s the amazing backdrop of the greatest day of our lives and your staff helped us achieve our dreams. We and every last guest who celebrated with us were relaxed and well taken care of. Just how we wanted it.

The Cheney Place is the best venue around! My husband and I were looking for a warehouse feel for our August wedding. It fit the bill perfectly. We knew the minute we walked in, this is where we were going to get married. The building itself is absolutely beautiful and the girls that work there are amazingly friendly, organized and very very easy to work with! If you are looking for a one-stop shop for your wedding, this is it! We had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one building, plus we were able to take all our pictures on site as well! It made things so simple and stress free on our big day! Our guests loved the venue as well, as there are many fun places to get great Instagram pics! Would definitely highly recommend The Cheney Place!!

Perfect is the only word I can use to describe my wedding day. The Cheney Place is such a beautiful venue, and the staff work so hard to make sure everything goes right. From our first consultation Stephanie and Jenna were so easy to work with, so organized, and so kind. Every detail of my wedding was so perfectly executed by them. Even when I couldn't find my vows, they quickly offered to print new ones and saved the day! You can tell they are seasoned wedding pros. If I were planning my wedding again, I would choose The Cheney Place a thousand times over!
