The Club at Ruby Hill Reviews
Kevin Albano(other)5 out of 5 Rating
My wife and I were so happy that we chose The Club at Ruby Hill as our wedding venue. The venue itself was beautiful with a subtle, elegant feel. It's located in a private, gated community surrounded by a picturesque golf course, and the inside was spacious and perfect for a large gathering. We had our tea ceremony in the lobby, the larger ceremony outside, and dinner and dancing in the main ballroom. The team at the Club at Ruby Hill was responsive and very easy to work with. The on-site menu tasting was my favorite part of the process because we got to try a majority of the menu, meet the chef, and connect with the team that helped facilitate the behind-the-scenes operations at our wedding. They provided personalized menus and gifted us a bottle of champagne so the day felt really special. We spoke to mainly Samantha and Tiffani, and both were a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend for those looking for a wedding venue! Reviewed on 12-12-2023

Since the day we came to check out Ruby Hill, we have loved not only the venue, but also getting to work with both Tiffani and Samantha and the rest of the RH team. They were always very patient and quick to answer all of our emails whenever we had any questions or updates, especially in the weeks leading up to our big day (we were sending them A LOT of emails!). Everyone at Ruby Hill was really friendly, genuine, and super easy to work with. We really had the most wonderful experience throughout our year-long wedding planning journey. Our wedding ended up being a big success! Everything went smoothly and as planned and our guests absolutely loved the duet entrees. Most importantly, the food came out in good time! Many of our guests also commented on how well-organized everything seemed. Highly recommend Ruby Hill for anyone looking to get married at a beautiful venue that was clearly made for weddings. The venue and surrounding areas are absolutely stunning, the staff are all super friendly and very organized, and the food is amazing! Thank you to the Ruby Hill team for helping our dream wedding come to life! It was a wedding to remember and we cannot be any happier! Reviewed on 24-08-2023

When it came time for my daughter's wedding we knew the perfect place. The formal ambiance and particularly the staff made Ruby Hill an easy decision.Everything was beyond perfect and made us feel so special from the signing of the contract, answering e-mails and walk throughs I knew I could relax and enjoy my daughter's wedding. The day of the wedding I was in awe of how much all those tiny details that I focused on was done effortlessly. The food and service was everything we have hoped for a fantastic black tie formal evening.Tiffani Lew in particular is so professional and so experienced I trusted that I was in great hands and was so impressed working with her. The location is picturesque and surrounded by beautiful vineyards and green lawns. The ballroom is very large with high ceilings, plenty of windows, a bar, prep-rooms, and includes everything you could want for your reception and meal needs. If they do not provide something, they have a vendor recommendation list to fill any of your venue needs. Our food tasting was a wonderful experience and allowed us to pick exactly what we wanted for our menu and more. You know the meal is good, when all your guests are complimenting you on how delicious each selection was. The staff was attentive and friendly. Even during the reception any request was treated with importance which was fantastic. Working with Tiffani was a pleasure. She was informative, thorough, and very professional. Planning a wedding during COVID was particularly stressful and they were very patient and happy to answer any questions I had. The venue is just stunning and really helped make the night what it was. The ceremony location is so perfect with the greenery on the pillars as your backdrop. The photos we took in front of the giant oak tree turned out stunning, as well as the photos at the top of the staircase. Our event coordinator (Tiffani) was there early in the morning to help setup the stage - all by herself because the staff could not come until later. This is what I call 'customer service' ! Kudos to Tiffani !With many of our friends' sons or daughters getting married in the next year or two, I am sure The Club at Ruby Hill will get a lot of references, customers and accolades. From start (in dealing with Chrissy during the sales phase, etc.) to finish (dealing with Kate, Tiffani, etc.), it was a class act. Reviewed on 06-02-2022
Shab Soroosh(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-09-2021 After looking at many venues we finally liked the one that could provide both outdoor and indoor services; unfortunately There was an unexpected, and quite frankly, disastrous, turn of events on the evening of Saturday September 4, 2021 our wedding night. At about 9:45pm, during dinner service at our wedding, the power went out due to PG&E.After the initial shock a we found out that the entire neighborhood was out; however, being at the prestigious Clubhouse at Ruby Hill, we were sure a back-up source would bring up all lights in the building. When this did not happen.1. There was no one else on the premises familiar with the building and its backup facilities. Surely any reputable event venue would have a back-up generator, so it was just a matter of having a venue contact to start it.2. We had candles on the tables, and some battery-operated up-lights, and after a while a few emergency lights came on.However, outside was completely and fully dark, all around the building where we had set up the desserts and where vendors were having dinner, was completely and fully pitch black.3. all ceremony chairs were still in the same position (which made us wonder how we would conduct the much-anticipated sparkler exit)! The chair should have been removed in anticipation of the guests congregating there to light sparklers.4. We managed to cut the cake in the dark, but not all guests got to see it and there was no music. When the power went out, it wasn’t just music (which was the absolute livelihood for our young and energetic guests) that got cut off. Enhanced lighting on the floor, up-lights with ceiling designs, disco lights, and the Percussionist amplifier also got cut off. 5. Staffing was very poor - they are not equipped and staff to handle 200 guests at this venue. This was a particularly important issue from the beginning and we had stressed many times that we wanted the best customer service and service for our guests. We were assured that although staffing had been affected because of the Pandemic, that the venue would ensure we had enough trained staff to tend to the guests. This was certainly not the case. 6. They were not able to manage service in a professional manner - tables were served with a lot of time lapse in between, so some guests had just finished eating and some just got served. Table service for water and wine was not consistent (not refilled). 7. Vegetarian guests did not receive their meals.the ones that did were very last ones. After many weeks of emailing and calling Venue finally Andrea Jackson regional manager contacted us. Initially he mentioned he will return all service charges due to their poor services. We did not receive the promised check. When we called back and asked him about it , very rudely and unprofessionally he said you had a good wedding and broke all his promises!!!On this wedding spent almost 75 k and it was ruined. The many months (nearly a year) of work, energy, and psychological and financial commitment, did not make it to fruition. Not due to our own doing or any of the vendor’s doing, but because of neglect on the part of the venue. Reviewed on 08-12-2021
Sam Alavi(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2021 the good things: -The space is absolutely beautiful-They have both indoor and outdoor space-We were able to build our own menu and the food is delicious. We loved that there was a late-night snack option. -Gillian was helpful and nice to work withA cautionary note to people considering the venue: -I read this in other reviews, I heard this from other brides, but I refused to believe it: they simply are not equipped to handle a 200 person event. Thank god all 200 of our guests didn't end up showing up- even with 170 guests, it took over an hour for everyone to get their food and we had to push back our whole timeline while half our guests were hungry. -It was very cold the night of our wedding and because of COVID, everything was outdoors. We had multiple discussions both via email and in person about heaters. I asked questions like \"should we have one heater per table? or what heater per every other table?\" and every time my question was dodged and that should have been a red flag.... well it turns out the night of our wedding, they only had 2 heaters. For 20 tables. We had explicitly told our guests there were heaters so imagine our embarrassment when 30 people crowded around one heater to stay warm. -We were offered the grassy area by the pro-shop for cocktail hour. I don't know if there were sprinklers or what, since there was no rain, but the grassy area was completely muddy when our guests got there for cocktail hour. We got a lot of complaints about wrecked shoes. If you have access to alternative spaces at the venue that don't involve grass, pick that instead! Reviewed on 14-10-2021

Janan and her team were very organized and on top of everything before and during the day of the wedding. They worked seamlessly alongside our wedding planner and they were able to execute our dream wedding! The service at Ruby Hills exceeded our expectations and our guests were so impressed with the beautiful grounds of the country club. We see so many new profile pictures of our family members with Ruby Hills as the background ;) Not only were the views great, but the food was DELICIOUS. Michelle Newcomer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2020 We LOVED our wedding at Ruby Hill. We held our small, 25 person wedding at Ruby Hill in Sept. 2020. Our first wedding date was canceled so we found Ruby Hill in July 2020 and were able to plan and implement the wedding in three months. We worked with Jennifer to plan a wedding that included a ceremony, outdoor cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and a Zoom virtual setup for our virtual guests. Jennifer was helpful and accommodated everything we needed to make this happen including: early arrival for our vendors to help socially distance, full wired internet access for the Zoom connection (most important for us and our virtual guests), full access to the grounds and outdoor space for photos, access to social-table software to plan seating charts and ceremony layout, and excel sheets to work with budgets. Being a very detail-oriented person myself, I appreciated how attentive and responsive Jennifer was to my emails and requests for information which is needed for hiring all the other vendors. I appreciated the attention to details ahead of time which makes for a stress free planning process! Thank you! Reviewed on 22-11-2020

From the high ceilings, the grand staircase, and the golf course backdrop, this location is nothing short of a dream. Janan was a pleasure to work ever since our first meeting as she was responsive and super helpful with our wedding planning. She was quick to answer questions to my numerous emails and really was just so patient with me. She works with so many couples and really made us feel special whenever we met or spoke. We worked together for over a year having in person meetings and through emails regarding anything and everything wedding related. Fast forward to a year of planning, we couldn't have been more excited for our wedding day! At our rehearsal walk through, my husband and I dropped off a bunch of decor for Janan and her team to set up the next day. I left instructions on each box on how things should be placed for our ceremony and reception. Janan was super attentive and was patient while I explained where each piece of decor was supposed to be set up. Rehearsal went smooth despite our huge wedding party. This isn't Janan's first rodeo so she was able to gather and round up everyone and do our walk through. This lasted about an hour. On the day of our wedding, we entered the venue and we were just in awe. All the decor we left for Janan and her team was placed perfectly and lit up the room. We can't thank them enough. My husband and I were in \"go-go-go\" mode that day so we were so thankful that we did not have to worry about setting up the reception/ceremony. Janan greeted us on wedding day and was the captain of our ship. She worked with our wedding party and venders and made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be. The staff and bartenders were very kind to me and my husband and we thank them for taking care of our wedding of 150 guests. Thank you to the chef and kitchen staff because our guests could not stop raving about the food! Our short rib and chicken duet plates were a hit! Christopher Delgado(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2019 There are many beautiful venues around this area. Each one provided a blank canvas for you to personalize. What set this apart from venues was the sales staff and coordinator (which was the same person for us, Jennifer Franklin). During our wedding venue hunting experience, we were met with either seemingly uninterested or just plain rude wedding salespeople until we met Jennifer. Myself not having any experience with planning events let alone a wedding, she was able to make this experience more fun and relaxed. Whenever my then fiance and I would stress about something, she would find a way to destress the situation and walk us through the issue we were facing. She was able to listen to our requests and provide suggestions where she saw fit without being so imposing on her own personal opinions. In our eyes and our guests' eyes, the end result was a flawless night. If there was an issue during the event, it was masked because we didn't see it and neither did our guests. We got compliments left and right from our guests on how beautiful the venue was and how much FUN they had. From people who have been to a million weddings, they showered us with compliments on how \"lit\" yet elegant it was. Again, my wife and I have to give Jennifer and the rest of the Ruby Hill staff a huge thanks for a PERFECT wedding reception. Reviewed on 29-10-2019
Chenyang Wu(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2019 We just had our wedding two weeks ago at The Club at Ruby Hill. This venue deserves the best rating for a lot of reasons:1. The venue is located in a gated community. Guests need to have an ID to enter from the main gate. So it has all the privacy you need for a wedding (as opposed to a hotel, for example).2. The venue is located in a very scenery community, which has beautiful lawns, trees, lakes. On our wedding day we took photos on the arch bridge over a lake near the main gate, which came out amazing. 3. The venue, which is a golf clubhouse, has all the facilities you look for in a wedding: both outdoor and indoor ceremony spots, indoor ceremony spot, a standard hardwood dance floor that is centered among the reception tables, cocktail reception area with outdoor heating devices, brides and grooms room, etc. 4. The clubhouse has quite an upscale look. The design, furniture, decoration, ceiling, etc., all look pretty spectacular.5. The staff members are great. We worked closely with the event manager Jennifer F in preparing for the wedding. Planning for the wedding was not a simple task and Jennifer gave us great help. She was very approachable, attentive to details, thoughtful and caring. I'd like to say that I wish I knew more people like Jennifer in my life. 6. The cost is surprisingly affordable. We booked it in February, during which they had the winter discount. But even without the discount, their price would still be reasonable. In choosing a perfect wedding, we visited more than 10 venues around the bay area. Most of them ask for more money and have less to offer, as compared to The Club at Ruby Hill. Our wedding went very well and it will be a piece of important and fond memory for us. I'm glad and feel fortunate that we chose the right venue (and of course put a lot of efforts into it). Reviewed on 06-10-2019

We haven’t come across a better looking venue in all of the wedding venues we’ve been to. Samantha Mak(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-05-2019 Choosing to have our wedding at The Club at Ruby Hills was the best decision we made in our wedding planning process. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the spaces that it had to offer for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and bridal/groom suites perfectly matched our needs for the day. From the beginning of our wedding planning process the staff at Ruby Hills went out of their way to make our experience easy and practical. Jennifer Franklin was our day of coordinator at Ruby Hills and our main point of contact for all of our questions leading up to the big day. Not only was Jennifer of great help in planning for all the details that we wanted to include in our wedding, but she did a flawless job executing all those details for us on the day of, not a single thing we asked for was left out. She did a great job in keeping us and our large bridal party on schedule throughout the day, and did so in the most calm, practical, and professional manner. Thanks to Jennifer and the rest of the Ruby Hills team, we were really able to enjoy ourselves on our wedding day and had nothing to worry about. We also want to add that their list of preferred vendors were all top notch and we were very happy with the choices we made on photographer, flowers, cake, etc. Not only were our vendors all great, but it made it stress free that they were all already familiar with the space and some even offered discount incentives for booking them through Ruby Hills. Overall, having our wedding at Ruby Hills was a wonderful experience, and if we had to do it all over again, we wouldn’t have changed a single detail. We highly recommend to anyone who is considering this venue to make an appointment and see for yourself all the great things it has to offer. Reviewed on 24-06-2019

Karen Fong(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-05-2018 If you are deciding between wedding vendors, please do NOT choose The Club at Ruby Hill. I just had my wedding at Ruby Hill and I wanted to warn you of my experience. My husband and I are very disappointed in our wedding experience at The Club at Ruby Hill. From its reputation and for the money we paid, we expected more. We left Ruby Hill on our wedding night angry and disappointed.Day of Wedding:1. Catering services/meals:Our reception started at 6pm. Half our guests sitting closer to the center received their dinner at 6:30pm. Half our guest (13 tables, total 151 guests) sitting in the periphery, farther from the center, received their dinner 9:20pm. During the wedding speeches/slideshow, we had multiple wedding guests continually run up to us at the sweetheart table to inform us they haven't received their meals yet. As of 9pm, we saw the servers just starting to carry out the entrees to guests sitting in the periphery. My husband and I were stuck at the sweetheart table in front of the spotlight, bombarded with guest complaints and unable to do anything, all the while my Day of Coordinator (Jennifer Franklin) was nowhere to be found to provide any help or assistance. My bridesmaid finally found the Day of Coordinator (Jennifer Franklin) frantically walking in and out of the kitchen. Something had gone wrong in the kitchen, however, we were not informed the day of. Weeks after the wedding, we still have not received an explanation as to what had happened in the kitchen. Why were half my guests served dinner 2.5 hours after the other half? Our reception started at 6pm, serving dinner at 9:20pm is unbelievable and unacceptable. I was heartbroken to see half my guests hungry as they watched other guests eat, and only to receive their own meals as the fed guests were getting ready to leave.2. Day of Coordinator (Jennifer Franklin): I could not find my Day-of-Event Coordinator (Jennifer Franklin) when I desperately needed her. I had to stand up from the sweetheart table, during my own wedding, to go look around for her, but she was nowhere to be found between 6:30pm-9:00pm. I had to personally stand up from the sweetheart table multiple times to direct the reception schedule/program and walk over to the DJ to communicate. It was embarrassing, stressful, and frustrating. It was a disaster, no bride or groom should ever have to go through what we did. No bride should have to stand up at the sweetheart table to run the show, during her own wedding; that is the Day of Coordinator's duty. Jennifer Franklin was hired/paid to provide support to the newlywed couple the day of wedding. The Club at Ruby Hill forced newlywed couples to choose from their preferred list of coordinators, so we were not allowed to hire our own outside coordinator. I would never have imagined that their preferred coordinator, Jennifer Franklin, would be so unprofessional. 3. Bartenders:The Club at Ruby Hill forced us to hire 3 bartenders for our wedding. We paid for 3 bartenders, but there were only 2 bartenders the day of wedding. I spoke to many wedding guests to confirm how many bartenders they saw between the hours of 5:15pm-8:15pm. Our family members, church members and friends all confirmed they saw only 2 bartenders. Ruby Hill forced us to pay extra $250 for the 3rd bartender, but only provided 2 bartenders the day of, which resulted in extremely long lines at the bar. My guests told us they waited 45 minutes in line to get a drink at the bar. That is dishonest business practice. If a wedding vendor charges for 3 bartenders, they should deliver with 3 bartenders, or else it is a breach in contract.4. Vendor Meals:We paid for 7 vendor meals: hot, sit-down vendor meals ($40 each), not the boxed meals, because we wanted our hardworking vendors to enjoy a nice meal after a long day. My vendors informed me they starved that night. Ruby Hill gave my 7 vendors 1 plate of tacos for all of them to share. That is not what we paid for, we paid total $280 for 7 hot meals; not one plate of tacos for $280. I am heartbroken that my vendors spent a whole day with us and had barely anything to eat. Before Wedding:In addition to the unsatisfactory wedding day events, the week leading up to the wedding was conducted professionally. The last-minute changes made by Ruby Hill and Jennifer Franklin, five days prior to the wedding were unexpected, uncharacteristic, and very stressful:1. Five days prior to the wedding, I was informed that my reception table seating arrangement had to be rearranged, because we were not allowed to have tables on the right-side members-only dining area. For the past 9 months, no one had informed us we were not allowed to have tables on the right-side. In fact, during TWO on-site walk-throughs, Coordinators: Juliet Dorn, Christa Mekki and Jennifer Franklin all suggested to me to put tables outside on the right side. During both walk-throughs, I was never informed of any issues with putting tables on the right side. Five days prior to the wedding, when I had already finalized table seating arrangements and printed out all table place cards, I was informed I would have to move 40 guests elsewhere. The last-minute changes forced me to reorder all table place cards urgently and have them shipped with express shipping, in order for us to receive them in time. I was working fulltime, and the last minute changes forced me to stay up late night to make emergency changes, merely a few days before my wedding.2. Five days prior to my wedding, I was informed that Ruby Hill did not know that a traditional Chinese tea ceremony was scheduled from 3-4pm. I had informed Ruby Hill 9 months ago, and the request was approved. Months in advance, I had already informed all family members to arrive at early for the tea ceremony. Five days prior to the wedding, I had no other back-up plan or alternative location for the tea ceremony.I had submitted the wedding worksheet 2 months prior to the wedding. I would like to know why no one at Ruby Hill had reviewed my worksheet and warned me of potential problems. My wedding worksheet was not reviewed until 5 days before my wedding. The professionalism of Ruby Hill staff is questionable and not up to standard. To this day, we never received an apology or an explanation of what had happened that night. The kitchen and bartending staff clearly could not handle 300 guests. Ruby Hill should not advertise as being able to cater that guest capacity.Reasons not to choose Ruby Hill:1. Incapable catering service2. Unprofessional Day of Event Coordinator (Jennifer Franklin)3. Dishonest business practiceWhen I originally booked Ruby Hill, I had imagined Ruby Hill to go above and beyond in quality of service. I had no doubt, based on all the positive reviews and awards. I am shocked and disappointed, I wasted my honeymoon being angry and apologizing to wedding guests. That is something money can never buy back.Bottom line: We paid for services that we did not receive. Reviewed on 07-04-2019

The beautiful grand staircase and private location, I literally would’ve booked even before physically seeing it in person. Sure enough, on our first visit, I knew this place was special. But more importantly, your dream venue and wedding would never come to fruition without a hard working coordinator, and for us, that was Jennifer Franklin. Janice Tennant(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2018 We had our wedding ceremony/reception at The Club at Ruby Hill a few months ago. While the location was beautiful, our experience working with the venue to finalize details was very frustrating, and the service the day of our wedding was sub-par at best. After we signed the contract, we worked with Janan from Ruby Hill to finalize the details of our wedding. While she was very warm and friendly, my fiance and I were frustrated that every interaction felt like it was an opportunity to upcharge us. Do you want a signature drink at your wedding? That will be $50 extra. Do you want that drink to sit on a drink cart? That will be $500 extra. Do you want the Market Lights turned on outside? That will cost you $1200 extra as part of their \"signature decor\" package. The simplest of requests were always met with a steep price tag. If you plan on having your wedding at Ruby Hill, definitely take these extra fees into account. The day of our wedding, the Ruby Hill staff and Banquet Manager were completely disorganized. There were no food or drinks provided in the Bridal room (though it was clearly stated in our contract that it would be provided). After sitting in the Bridal room for over 3 hours with no one from Ruby Hill ever stopping by to greet us, someone in my bridal party finally took it upon themselves to find a Staff member and ask for water and fruit. The Staff were so disorganized that our personal wedding planner had to set up most of the tables herself because the Ruby Hill staff were so far behind schedule. We then found out after dinner was served that half of the tables didn't get served wine or bread and none of the vendors were served their meals (again, these are all items that were clearly listed in the contract and that we paid for!). This is beyond unprofessional. To make matters worse, 2 weeks before the wedding, Ruby Hill provided us with a very detailed worksheet we needed to fill out that detailed every aspect of the wedding ceremony and reception (how the napkins should be folded, what type of table clothes we wanted to use, what vendor meals were needed, etc.). One question asked us if we would like \"ALL of our cake to be cut and served\". We answered yes. At the end of the night, guests were complaining that they didn't get any dessert. We were confused and then came to find out that Ruby Hill only served half our cake (they didn't serve the top tier of the cake or the grooms cake). I have NO IDEA what the point of filling out the detailed wedding worksheet was for if it was clearly not reviewed and followed. The Staff at Ruby Hill were obviously not equipped to handle a wedding party of our size (200 guests), given the many mistakes and details that were overlooked.Though our wedding was wonderful, I would not recommend The Club at Ruby Hill to future brides. They charge a very high price for sub-par service. I recommend checking out their Yelp reviews as well. Unfortunately, their disorganization seems to be a common theme. Reviewed on 28-12-2018

The pictures do not do justice to beauty and elegance of this venue; everywhere you look has something to look at. After the site tour, we decided to look at a couple more venue before sealing the deal, but nothing came close to it Ruby Hill for us. We booked and the rest is history. We dealt with almost everyone at the venue one time or another, and everything always flowed something. Emails always within a day or two. And they had an response for every question asked. We were a non alcoholic wedding (for religion purposes) and they totally honored and respected that and worked with us to create mock tails for our guests! We had our wedding June 30th, 2018 and it was so dreamy! Our coordinator Janan was on top of everything. And our guests raved about how it was the beautiful wedding they’ve been to! And how delicious the food was, starting from the appetizers! This venue is totally worth it, and a dream come true for us. We had looked at about 10 other venues and Ruby Hill was last on our list to tour and when we walked in and saw the grand staircase and reception area, we knew it was the one we wanted to host our wedding at. The venue is so elegant and beautiful. We originally met with Juliet and she was wonderful, professional, and very responsive to my many emails in regards to the fees, food selection, decor, etc. We signed a contract within a week of our tour. About a month before my wedding date, Danielle started contacting me with wedding timeline details and every time I emailed her (and I sent a lot of them) she always responded within a day or two. She was always patient and really clarified any questions I had when it came to the food selection, guests, rehearsal date, etc. For our rehearsal and wedding day, Marc stepped in as our coordinator since Danielle was ill, and he was absolutely the best!! He took control of the rehearsal and was able to help guide the wedding party through the events. I was nervous at first because I had never spoken or met Marc until our rehearsal day but he did such an amazing job on both the rehearsal and wedding day. He helped me stay calm throughout my wedding day and worked wonderfully with our DJ to make everything go smoothly. He checked in with me throughout the day and evening which I really appreciated. My now husband and I got so many compliments for our wedding. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful, and the staff were excellent. My husband and I were struggling to find a venue we liked, but the moment we walked in and met with Juliet we fell in love and booked within the week. The staff truly made this the easiest and best experience becase they were there for us through everything. We met with Robin Lewis at the food tasting and fell in love with her and requested her as our day of coordinator - although, she really went above and beyond day of duties. She is so thorough and organized and was there for us every step of the way. The staff on the day of the wedding was amazing and everything was perfect! They too were so organized and kept everything on schedule. The food was amazing and to this day we still receive compliments on how amazing it was. The preferred vendor list is awesome, they're fully vetted vendors who have great relationships with Ruby Hill. The only vendor we didn't go through the preferred list was our photographer, and that's just because we found one outside the vendor list we really liked. I worked mostly with Robin Lewis and Juliet Dorn and they are two of the BEST wedding professionals that I had the pleasure and privilege to work with. Robin was my wedding coordinator and she has an incredible ability to keep everyone and every detail on point while also bringing so much peace and calmness to the planning process. At the rehearsal, my older sister's comment was \"Wow - that Robin sure does have her $#!t together!!\" :-) I completely agree. Robin guided me through every detail over months of back and forth communication on phone, email and in person. She offered suggestions, guidance and opinions in a very appropriate way, but ultimately let me make the decisions to make the wedding of my dreams come true. I always felt Robin was looking out for my best interests. When planning a wedding, you need a go-to person you can trust. If I had to do it all over again, I would 100% choose Robin Lewis and The Club at Ruby Hill. A little about the venue. First of all, IT IS GORGEOUS!!! There was plenty of space to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony (180 guests) and outdoor cocktail hour as well. The landscape and venue are so beautiful on their own, you do NOT need to spend a ton on flowers or decorations to make the ceremony site or reception look pretty. I'd say LESS is more when it comes to decor. If you choose Ruby Hill, let the venue shine. Your wallet will thank you! The catering was delicious . We went with the most expensive (I think) catering package and it was worth it (Duet of Halibut and Filet Mignon). Even the most expensive package was a better deal than most other venues we considered originally. I have 0 complaints about The Club at Ruby Hill. Truly. From day 1, the staff was always incredibly responsive and teamed with us seamlessly to make our dream wedding a reality. Thank you to Juliet for helping with our initial planning process and a special thanks to Danielle who was assigned to us as our day of wedding coordinator. She was phenomenal during every step leading up to our big day and helped us with every detail. The day of our wedding, we had to make a last-minute decision to relocate our ceremony location from the beautiful outdoor wisteria arbor to the dramatic/gorgeous dome area (due to rain) and still managed to start on time and every detail of our wedding vision was captured. One of the many options that sold us on having our wedding at RHGC, was that they have so many options as to where to have the ceremony (indoors or outdoors) and, for us, it became critical to have a \"backup plan\" in case of unexpected cold or rainy weather (as in our case). Our family and friends are still commenting that our wedding was the \"Best Wedding\" they've ever attended. The only thing that my groom/husband would change (that is, if we could do it all over again) would be to slow down the clock and savor each moment longer....the day REALLY does go by so quickly! You have a choice of getting married inside or outside, so it appeals to everyone. You have a grand staircase for your grand entrance, perfect for your fairytale wedding. Melissa and Danielle were amazing the day of. They really took the vision I had and managed to have it go off without a hitch. They really tried to make the bride feel special and let any issues not go to the bride. I love that we could get ready onsite. The groomsmen also had a room, which was very unique for a venue. They were able to hang out and get ready there as well. \rGuests have said multiple times how amazing the food and venue was. We had 150 guests and had two bars and servers with drinks. It worked perfectly and no one waited for a drink. Ruby Hill allows for you to have everything you could want for your wedding, I would take advantage of what they offer. Jennifer Jones(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-09-2013 I fell in love with Ruby Hill because it had everything I wanted - I gorgeous outdoor space for the ceremony, a STUNNING ballroom fit for royalty for the reception, and the price was right. I love that they have a back-up plan in case of weather issues (the indoor atrium upstairs under the skylight is beautiful) so I knew I would have nothing to worry about if it decided to rain or be scorching hot.\rGranted, it's expensive, but all venues are and I feel like we got the most for our money. The packages vary - we got the most expensive one because we wanted bar service for the whole night. We upgraded our bar package as well to include top shelf brands, and hired an extra bartender to ensure all our guests would be served promptly. All money well spent, and our guests generously tipped the well-deserving bartenders. \rThe new house linens are absolutely gorgeous - white on white damask - so we didn't have to rent. We upgraded to their unique \"Chiavari\" chairs, which I loved because they are different from the ones you see at all other weddings. \rIf you provide Melisa with details on how you want everything set up - you can be assured that it will be exactly as you had pictured it. The staff is VERY experienced and know what they're doing. Service was excellent, and Melisa will give you tips on how to ensure there are no mishaps (i.e. timing for walking down the aisle and grand entrance, having my MOH pull down my veil when the wind picked up, etc). \rPeople are still raving about the food. We had the mizuna greens salad, and gave our guests the choice of the filet mignon, chevre (goat cheese) chicken or vegetarian (rainbow ravioli). The serving sizes were huge, and everything was delicious.\rAt some points in the planning process I had issues getting a hold of Melisa and her assistant, but when it came down to it all of my questions were answered and concerns addressed, so it all turned out fine. I think that wedding coordinators at venues like this have a lot on their plate being the go-to for all their brides, so I can't really blame them. \rOverall it was the most perfect day and everything I imagined! We couldn't ask for anything better. The service provide by the wedding coordinator, Melisa, was great. She was pretty good in responding to emails before the wedding and working with us in terms of pricing, packages, appointments and setup for the day of. She did all the prep work setting up the centerpieces, placecard, ceremony aisle, cake table, sweatheart table, and sign in table just the way we wanted it. She executed perfectly in terms of setting the venue up just as we previous discussed. She also help coordinate the entire evening, working closely with the photographer/videographer and our DJ to make sure everything runs smoothly. We are very thankful to have Melisa there to help coordinate the day of for us. \r\rThe only negative we had, which no one knew except for us, was the food. We were told after the wedding by one of the guest that the pass hor d'oeuvres came one quite slow so some people were hungry. However, the 2 dish we chose, agnolotti and scallop wrapped bacon, was delicious. The salad and the entree wasn't served the way it was presented to us during tasting or per our request/notes. For example, for the salad, we requested for candied pecans instead of spiced pecans, but spiced pecans were served on the day of. For the entree, we got the sea bass and the filet mignon. For the sea bass, we were served pesto crusted sea bass with some cream sundried tomato sauce at the bottom of the plate during our tasting, but when it was served on the day of, the sea bass was smothered in the cream sauce so it was really creamy and saltier than we liked. For the filet mignon, we were served 2 medallion of beef during the tasting and asked if this is the portion size that would be served on the day of and the waiter confirmed yes, but on the day of, only 1 medallion was served. Finally, we asked to have sweet potato mash instead of regular mash potatoes for one of our sides, but regular mash potatoes was served on the day of. At the end of the day, the food served was good and the guest was happy with the food. It just wasn't what we asked for or expected. \r\rNonetheless, if we could do it all over again, we'll still do it here. I love the outdoor courtyard for the ceremony and the indoor hall was gorgeous and good size space for the reception. It was a great setting and location for a wedding. Also the service you get here for the amount of money you pay is well worth it, in my opinion. Reviewed on 01-10-2013
Lindsay Zamora(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2013 I had my wedding here on June 30, 2013 and it truly was the best day of my life. I've also been to many weddings and I have to say, my wedding has topped every wedding I've been to in my entire life. I'm filipino and I go to literally 5 weddings a year so I know what beautiful looks like!\r\rThis was the first venue I had visited out of the 8 or so places when I was planning my wedding last year. I knew that after visiting Ruby Hill for the first time, there wasn't going to be a better place. We booked immediately and set a date. We booked a year in advance and I'm glad we did. From that point, it was soooo easy working with Melisa and her two assistants, Stephanie and Molly. They were very fast at getting back to me with my concerns and questions. Melisa knows her stuff. She is up to date with the latest wedding trends and is very informative about everything. She is also really flexible to help make things happen for you. She's like a genie! Her assistant, Molly (I never met her but I wish I did!) was really helpful as well and when she didn't know an answer, she would find out and get back to me immediately.\r\rBTW, I only met with Melisa twice before the wedding: the intial visit and 2 days before the wedding. I had been living in San Diego and then moved out to Tulsa, Oklahoma while I was planning for a wedding in the Bay Area. That's how easy it was working with them. You don't need to be local to work with them. We met twice during the entire process and they DELIVERED. She will be with you the entire time during the wedding day to make sure things go well.\r\rThey had a preferred vendors list, which I used for everything and they all delivered a fantastic product as well. On my wedding day, everything went to so smoothly. I didn't worry about a thing except for how I looked! The venue was classic, flawless, timeless, and spectacular. Every guest said it was the most gorgeous wedding they've been to. We had the bocce ball courts available for the guests and that was a big hit as well too! \r\rThe food was delicious. All the guests had raved about the food. The servers were really nice and helpful. We had a 3 hour open bar and that was a perfect amount of time for me and my guests. We had a cash bar afterwards, which was better for our budget and guests. The drinks were reasonably priced at the cash bar and the bartender even gave me a free shot of Henessey after open bar had ended ! He was super nice!\r\rGet married here if you can. You won't regret it. I had the most memorable and best day of my life. Having my wedding reception here was the best choice I made during the entire wedding process.\r\rWORTH EVERY DIME. From the gate entrance to the outdoor grounds with bocce ball courts to the indoor double staircase, the area provides a beautiful setting to entertain and wow your guests. Here is my review of Ruby Hill broken down into topics. \r\rLocation\rI had my church ceremony in San Francisco and my reception at Ruby Hill on a Saturday. The commute was only 45 minutes for guests and with no traffic. We used the Marriot as our hotel which provided shuttle service for guests from the venue.\r\rThe venue itself is spacious and allows for large parties to partake in multiple activities throughout the night. Guests can enjoy the bar, dance floor, outdoor bocce ball courts, and even upstairs level if they want to be in a quieter area. There are many locations to take beautiful photos (my favorite being the big oak tree) and the double staircase was fun for the bridal party entrance. \r\rWedding Coordinator\rMelissa was the Ruby Hill wedding coordinator and contact. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and very familiar with the ins-and-outs of the venue. Our wedding planner, Lara Choma, who was recommended by Melissa, took charge of our day with ease and grace and brought together a team of vendors that couldn’t have been more impressive or supportive. Melissa and Lara as a team planned a perfect wedding day and also helped me execute a surprise band for my husband.\r\rFood\rOne of the best aspects of the venue. All of our guests have been raving about the food. We had sea bass, filet mignon and vegetarian options which were all amazing. Plates were served hot and the vegetables and salad were fresh. The hordeuvres were also delicious.\r\rService\rFriendly and extremely attentive. Food was perfectly timed and bartenders were always busy. One of the waiters made sure my husband and I always had a full drink. We did not feel rushed out of the venue at the end of the night. There were no surprises in the set up and the staff knew exactly how to coordinate guests throughout the night.\rPrice: Variable depending on budget but an excellent alternative to the venues in SF and Oakland which were above our price range and were not as pretty.\r\rDate\rI had my wedding on April 27, 2013 and the weather was perfect. It was very warm and sunny but not too cold in the evening. We had three tables for dinner set up right outside the venue which worked well.\r\rGuests\rWe had 200 guests total which broke down to 16 tables and a large head table. We had a 21 person head table which worked great!\r \rIf you have any doubts about this place, I seriously recommend taking a tour. You will instantly fall in love it and will be in such great hands with Melissa and the staff. Definitely the perfect place for a dream wedding! Reviewed on 04-06-2013

All the guests keep telling us how the place is so beautiful and how much fun they had.\r\rFirst, the place is gorgeous! There are so many places within the clubhouse and on the grounds that shows well in pictures.
