Unfortunately, the process with the staff at the venue needs improvement. My husband and I were promised & told many things during our two venue planning meetings with one of the venue coordinators, Barbie, that were not honored on our special day. For example, I as the bride & my bridal party were told there would be a large van with tinted windows to be used to take us down to the venue that is .25 miles away from the venue (to ensure our gowns/dresses would stay clean), but most importantly so I would not be seen by guests or groom before coming down the aisle. Instead, we were picked up by Barbie on a golf cart and were not switched to the van that was parked right there at the bridal house even after us objecting. We came down in the golf cart & multiple guests saw me before my entrance which was upsetting. My bridal party then had to insist that I was taken around the back to the kitchen entrance to avoid my groom potentially seeing me too & Barbie honestly offered no help or assistance. Guests at my wedding had to also jump up and open the doors for my Dad and I when we were coming down the aisle because they were closed & Barbie / other staff members who were standing there did not move at all to open them. Also, we were not told until AFTER we signed our contract and it is nowhere in the contract so please keep in mind before booking: they make the wedding party take all of their belongings out of the bridal house and the groomsmen house BEFORE your ceremony and lock the houses up so you have no access to the houses for the reception etc (not ideal at all for brides who plan on doing a dress change for example). Also, after getting all ready & dressed and being excited / ready to head to your ceremony, you first have to pack up every single item & take all of it out to your cars which for us took many trips since we had multiple bridesmaids with lots of belongings of course & this was not fun or ideal to do in the heat. To add to this frustration, when my husband & I found this out at our last planning meeting, we specifically asked Barbie if we could at least be allowed access to the groomsmen cabin/house after the ceremony as we needed somewhere to wait during cocktail hour until we did our reception entrance & she agreed. Then on the day of our wedding before the ceremony, she acted as though she had never agreed to this when I spoke to her which resulted in me having to call my husband before the ceremony who then had to call one of the co-owners, David, who confirmed he would call Barbie to talk to her about it. She was less than friendly to us after this (not that she was very friendly prior to this to be honest). She also ended the night by being extremely rude to my husband, mother-in-law & I in front of multiple guests because our vendor, Sweet & Savory, had accidentally forgotten to take their napkins they supplied with them and Barbie was insisten that my husband & I brought the napkins and therefore had to take them (we did not in the end, but after much objection by her). I really do hope the venue coordinators work on some of these items (& a more friendly, professional attitude by one) as they do more events/weddings because it truly is such a beautiful venue with so much potential. The other venue coordinator, Barb W., was who I communicated with to do our seating chart/ floor plan & she was always extremely nice and patient. I truly wish she could have been the one there on our day. Reviewed on 17-10-2023
