The Cordelle is a wedding reception venue located in Nashville, TN. Boasting indoor and outdoor event spaces, this property would be ideal for couples who want the best of both worlds. Although it is situated in such a lively city, this setting benefits from natural features, eye-catching nature, and ample space worthy of important milestones. Ideal for hosting ceremonies and receptions, it offers a great deal of appeal to suit all kinds of celebrations. Conveniently, The Cordelle is found in downtown Nashville. The space’s design mirrors its metropolitan surroundings while still managing to offer much of its own distinctive appeal. From the open-air peacefulness of the grounds to the simple elegance of the interiors, there is much to admire. It also manages to combine the old with the new in remarkable ways. In one room, modern features, string lighting, and lounge furniture dominate the design, while in the next throwbacks to the 19th century may still be seen. At once historic and high-end, The Cordelle would be ideal for a whole host of intimate and lavish gatherings. The Garden offers 5,000 square feet of event space where the wedding party can gather to mingle, converse, and make happy new memories. An old hackberry tree provides a beautiful focal point, offering couples a splendid place to exchange vows and become newlyweds. Tented festivities may also be hosted here. Alternatively, the ‘I-do’ occasion could be held in The Victorian, which is a beautiful 1,000 square-foot area. Here, uncovered walls combine with the hardwood flooring to create a charming atmosphere that would also suit cocktail receptions or seated meals. Elsewhere, the impressive Great Hall provides 1,700 square feet that could accommodate ceremonies, receptions, and late-night dancing. Other available event spaces include The Loft, the covered patio, and a secluded dressing room. Overall, the total capacity of The Cordelle is for approximately 400 people.

The cordelle was such a beautiful venue and they were so professional. We also chose to do their bar program which was amazing. Our signature cocktails were so popular and they did an amazing job with the champagne wall. We loved our experience.

The staff were all extremely kind and helpful. Venue is gorgeous and immaculately kept. Only complaints were they make you pay extra to have the heat lamps for cold nights and one of ours was broken. And they also make you pay to have the outdoor siding put down on the porch (like 300 dollars or something close). It’s something that is already installed they just have to untie it to open it. Also the traffic noise is pretty loud outside and was definitely competing with the loudness of the ceremony.

As soon as we toured The Cordelle, we knew it had to be our wedding reception venue! The building is stunning--perfectly simple but with details that speak for themselves. The yard/garden area was so lovely (and shaded!) during cocktail hour and photos. The loft upstairs was a great green room for the band, and still provided enough room for the wedding party's belongings and space to change. The logisitics team was super easy to work with as well! We would'nt have changed anything about the evening!

The communication from the staff was excellent throughout the entire process - from when we did our venue walk-through, placed our deposit, and any questions we had throughout the year and a half we were planning our wedding. Their layout is programmed into allseated which made forming a layout extremely easy. Everything was executed perfectly the day of our wedding, with absolutely no stress placed on myself. The Cordelle has so many different picture-perfect backdrops, allowing us to only have to do wedding day pictures at the venue, instead of traveling all over Nashville. The only downfall with the venue is they typically have events every day, thus they were only able to have our rehearsal the morning before our wedding from 9-10 am, so we neglected to have a walk-through rehearsal at the venue prior to day-of.

My fiance and I got married on a Thursday at the Cordelle venue in Nashville, TN. The grounds of this venue are awesome and their overall professionalism is great. They have an event manager, a security guard that is present on the day, brides can use the bridal suite which comes very much in handy and if you would like a space where you can curate the vision, then you are able to select your own vendors and put that vision to life. My only suggestion to couples is that this venue does require some imagination and it took a great deal of research and ideas to identify how we wanted to decorate our reception area and since we were planning this wedding ourselves - that felt a little stressful. Of course you can choose to keep the venue as is, but since you have to import everything (including chairs, tables, etc). In my opinion, the venue can look a little bland without a bit of pizzazz, but when you add your own style and twist to it; it is amazing! Last thing, the logistical staff is very responsive and helpful (you get two walkthroughs before your wedding day), however, towards the end when we wanted to add an hour or two (and purchase those hours) to accommodate wanting to do all makeup and hair on-site, it appeared that the event manager had thoughts about adding hours since we needed to be out of the venue at a certain time - and since our wedding was a few days away, at the time it began to feel there was miscommunication with our coordinator and the venue manager as well unnecessary concern of the venue since we would be willing to be charged extra if we went over our original allotted time. Ultimately, we just paid for the extra hour and it all went well. But that was my only thing that I felt like could have been handled differently. Also, for any couples looking to host a summer wedding here - make sure you have a rain plan and once the dancing started in the reception area, it began to feel very warm to the point we even had to turn up the AC & turn on the fans. So keep in mind your reception layout which could impact the circulation of air.

Okay - the prettiest venue EVER!! The people that work at the Cordelle are so lovely! They are quick to answer emails, allow you to ask a million questions + are so kind! When I toured the Cordelle the girls that work there were beyond nice - they made us feel so welcome + allowed us to be ourselves! We had our wedding at The Cordelle last month, and as someone who was adamant about getting married at a unique venue, it was an absolute dream. It is GORGEOUS and provides the perfect backdrop for literally any style / decor. Also, being able to get ready with my bridesmaids in the loft, as well as have both the ceremony & reception all at the same venue was a huge plus and alleviated a lot of wedding day stress. Not only that, but all of the staff was so helpful & accommodating leading up to the wedding & on the day of. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to host our wedding and I cannot recommend The Cordelle enough!!

We also enjoyed that the Cordelle is a blank slate and has an open vendor policy, which allowed us to get exactly the look and feel that we wanted for our wedding day. Lastly, we loved the proximity to downtown Nashville, and all of our guests enjoyed being able to experience the nightlife of the city so easily after the wedding. The Cordelle was the perfect venue for our wedding, and we highly recommend it!

The loft space is so also warm and inviting, and it made the perfect place for us to get ready and relax on the day of the wedding. We also enjoyed that the Cordelle is a blank slate and has an open vendor policy, which allowed us to get exactly the look and feel that we wanted for our wedding day. Lastly, we loved the proximity to downtown Nashville, and all of our guests enjoyed being able to experience the nightlife of the city so easily after the wedding. I booked the Cordelle before even seeing the space in person and it exceeded my expectations in size and beauty! I loved being able to use the upstairs loft for getting ready the day of—it was the perfect size and Mandy had coffee ready for us and let us come in even though we were almost 20 minutes early. The location was super convenient as well since it was close to the church where my ceremony was performed and also close to downtown, but not in the thick of all the traffic. They even gave my husband and myself a sweet, meaningful wedding gift! Such an amazing venue for weddings or really any event!

The Cordelle captured our attention immediately because it was a blank slate and allowed us to customize our wedding exactly the way we wanted it.The bridal suite gave my bridesmaids and I a comfortable place to relax and get ready before the wedding - not to mention it was absolutely gorgeous.We had our ceremony in the backyard and didn't need to do much to make it look stunning and special. The reception/cocktail hour was held on the porch and inside and, coupled with other amazing vendors, it made for the perfect backdrop to a perfect day.

My daughter and son in law were married and had their reception at the Cordelle on 8/12/17. The venue is absolutely beautiful with the exposed brick, Victorian windows and reclaimed wood. The ceremony and reception were held indoors and the porch and beautiful yard provided a lovely setting for the cocktail hour. When the sun set the French doors were opened to the porch so guests could enjoy both the indoor and outdoor spaces. The staff was welcoming, helpful and couldn't have been nicer from the first visit till the end of the wedding day. We kept hearing from our guests about what a gorgeous venue it was and how beautifully everything turned out.

My daughter and son in law were married and had their reception at the Cordelle on 8/12/17. The venue is absolutely beautiful with the exposed brick, Victorian windows and reclaimed wood. The ceremony and reception were held indoors and the porch and beautiful yard provided a lovely setting for the cocktail hour. When the sun set the French doors were opened to the porch so guests could enjoy both the indoor and outdoor spaces. The staff was welcoming, helpful and couldn't have been nicer from the first visit till the end of the wedding day. We kept hearing from our guests about what a gorgeous venue it was and how beautifully everything turned out.

We loved The Cordelle!! From the moment we stepped inside on our first visit to leaving our wedding reception. The venue is beautiful with the exposed brick and amazing wood floors! The venue is so beautiful, yet simple, so didn't need extravagant decorations. We were sad we weren't able to utilize the garden area because of the weather, but the covered porch and inside ceremony turned out perfect! The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The bridal suite was the perfect place to get ready before the ceremony and large enough for the entire wedding party to relax in after pictures. We'd recommend The Cordelle to anyone!!

We loved The Cordelle!! From the moment we stepped inside on our first visit to leaving our wedding reception. The venue is beautiful with the exposed brick and amazing wood floors! The venue is so beautiful, yet simple, so didn't need extravagant decorations. We were sad we weren't able to utilize the garden area because of the weather, but the covered porch and inside ceremony turned out perfect! The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The bridal suite was the perfect place to get ready before the ceremony and large enough for the entire wedding party to relax in after pictures. We'd recommend The Cordelle to anyone!!

We recently photographed a wedding at The Cordelle and we highly recommend this beautiful venue! The staff were all super friendly and the building and grounds were gorgeous! The loft makes for very pretty pictures with the natural lighting and the really nice decor. We definitely recommend The Cordelle for your wedding venue!

We recently photographed a wedding at The Cordelle and we highly recommend this beautiful venue! The staff were all super friendly and the building and grounds were gorgeous! The Cordelle was absolutely amazing. The venue itself is beautiful and classic. We hardly needed any decorations because it's so elegant on its own. The garden was the perfect place for our ceremony, then we easily transitioned to the porch for a cocktail hour, then inside for the reception. It was beyond perfect.The staff was very helpful and friendly. They answered all of our questions, made suggestions, and had someone there the entire day of to ensure we had absolute peace of mind. We can't recommend it enough.

Words cannot describe how amazing the staff at The Cordelle is! From our first visit, we knew it was where we were going to get married. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and truly a blank slate that you can completely make your own. Every single person that we worked with was a dream! When the power went out right before our ceremony (not their fault - grid problem), the owner came by to check on us and see what she could do to make it better. They were so kind and as soon as the power was restored, the staff took fans and set them up in front of my husband and I to make sure we cooled off so we could go enjoy our party. Seriously, cannot speak highly enough of these fine people and the way they run their business!

This venue is great for large parties and our wedding reception of 250 guests were easily accommodated. Very elegant and well designed space. It is costly for a blank venue. Make sure you determine a price on the front end as the price discussed in my initial meeting was different from the email quote I received later on because of my wedding date and the changing prices the following year. I was a little thrown off to think I found a reception venue for one price during our meeting only to be met with a substantially higher price in my email confirmation. However, overall the staff is incredibly accommodating and you have free reign to be creative with the space.

Meet the The Cordelle Team
(L to R) Chandra Watson, Nealy Glenn, Leigh Watson (Owner) The Cordelle opened its historic, arched doorway in 2014, under the stewardship of co-owners Leigh Watson, Nealy Glenn and Chandra Watson, longtime friends and creative entrepreneurs who shared a vision for creating the perfect downtown Nashville event venue. Initial inspiration for the space grew out of Leigh Watson’s own wedding-planning frustrations. The goal to find a downtown Nashville wedding venue with luxury, charm and flexibility… out of this desire the CORDELLE was born.
