Our talented team works very hard to customize our events to match the unique tastes of all our couples. Our goal is to make sure that you and your guests have and create unforgettable experiences. We are proud of the service we provide, the stunning views and luxurious space here at The Estate at Independence. Like you, we value what is served to your guests, so our expert culinary team has worked to design menus that are delightfully pleasing to the palate with a variety of choices from the eclectic to the traditional. Our sole priority is to make sure that you have the perfect day. To make everything easier and stress free for you, we have included items such as wedding coordinator, food tasting, round & rectangle tables, white linens, glassware, china, flatware, the dance floor, cake cutting & service, upgraded gold chiavari chairs, Bridal Suite & Groom’s Room, setup & breakdown, and even rounds of golf Our experienced coordinators take care of every detail so you can focus on loving every minute of the experience. We offer several different sites for both ceremonies and receptions. The outdoor ceremony sites with their magnificent views all come with an indoor rain plan that will still be just as stunning as your original plan. The Estate building can easily accommodate up to 300 guests, so get ready to celebrate!

Megan & the Estate of Independence staff are exactly what you want for you big day! I cannot thank her enough for making our big day PERFECT. From day 1 she has been amazing & had every step ready for us. They were amazing when accommodating our handicap family & guests. Everything from the rehearsal dinner to the day of was everything we wanted. Independence has an amazing menu to choose from. The bridal suite upstairs was such a fun place to hang out and get ready. The balcony was perfect to walk out on and gaze over to the ceremony site. The grounds create the most perfect pictures for lifetime memories. We have only heard great things from our family & guests as well. One of the biggest perks for me was Megan's day of demeanor and how she made sure I was happy and had everything we needed. 5 stars truly is not enough for Megan, her staff, and Independence.

From the beginning until the end of the process Megan and her team were absolutely incredible! We could not have had a better experience. I haven't met many people that didn’t have complaints about a venue coordinator. Throughout the process, friends expressed skepticism that a venue coordinator would put in this much work and encouraged me to hire an outside coordinator. Thank goodness we didn’t because we really hit the jackpot with Megan and her team. They not only told us that they could handle what we wanted but they actually delivered! My husband and I reached out to Megan for a venue tour and she made time for us to see it same-day. The venue is simply gorgeous! There is tons of green space for an outdoor wedding or a beautiful indoor space in case you prefer that or want to make sure that you have a weather plan. Due to the weather, we ended up having our wedding indoors and could not have been happier with how it all came together. Megan made sure we were taken care of, not only on the day of our wedding, but throughout the whole entire process. We cannot thank her enough for how responsive she was via email and text. Any question we had; she was on top of. The venue has tons of décor to use, gold Chiavari chairs, a beautiful bridal suite, a golf simulator for the guys to enjoy while the girls are getting ready, cottages for your crew to stay on site if you so choose, and a honeymoon suite option. Our food/drink tasting was such a fun experience and the food was delicious. We had so many different types of foods to choose from and Megan helped us put together a diverse menu – something for everyone to enjoy. On the day of, I forgot to bring orange juice for mimosas and socks for the shoes I was changing in to for the reception. Megan worked her magic and got me both items! (Who else can say that about their coordinator??) I am eternally grateful for her kindness, helpfulness, and being such a positive presence. I never felt stressed on the day of the wedding because I knew I could get Megan and she would handle it. The morning after the wedding, we arrived to the venue with our cars packed up. There was absolutely no set up or clean up on our part. It truly was a dream come true! Megan still recognizes us and takes some time to catch up, even with her crazy busy schedule, when we attend events at Independence – which we love! If you’re thinking about getting married at Independence, you won’t regret it!

There are not enough stars for Megan and her team and the entire IGC staff. It was a completely perfect weekend. They took care of rehearsal dinner, lodging for the weekend, and of course the ceremony and reception. My husband and I have gotten so much feedback from our guests stating how wonderful everything and everyone was. Megan and her team work so well together and everything was seamless. They are attentive, fun, and so good at what they do. When I had our final walk through the Wednesday before the wedding, I could finally take a deep breath because I knew they had it from there. I'm just sad it is over, and I am going to miss everyone there so much!

I cannot thank Megan and all the staff at Independence enough. The venue had everything we were looking for. It had a beautiful spot for an outdoor ceremony, spaces for the wedding parties to get ready and relax, plenty of space for a seated reception, in-house catering, overnight accommodations for my family and an amazing coordinator. Megan is so good at what she does and such valuable asset to Independence. She is responsive, kind, resourceful, accommodating, and extremely hardworking. She helped me throughout the entire wedding planning process and the day of I was able to relax and not worry about a single thing. This is the type of place and people that go above and beyond. I had an allergic reaction to eye patches I used the morning of my wedding. Before I could even panic Megan had a doctor on the phone instructing me on what to do and a co-worker at CVS getting me medication. I could rave about Megan for days. The venue itself was beautiful, the food was great, the bartenders were awesome. I couldn't of asked for a better day! Thank you Indolence and your entire team.

Megan and her team are truly the best! Everything was just perfect. The Estate is beautiful as is, but to have Megan and her team by your side every step of the way was truly a plus. No wedding planner needed! Anything one would need The Estate has it all! The Estate was the only venue we toured and we knew it was the one! Megan even placed the flowers on our cake without hesitation. Anything I may have forgotten or did not have Megan and her team did. Many had warned me that on our wedding day some things would go wrong, but nothing did! It was truly a beautiful day to remember. Thanks to Megan, her team and all of our vendors.

I am giving five stars because our coordinator, the staff and the venue really pulled off the entire day for an amazing day. It was gorgeous, everyone had a wonderful time, the food/drinks were great and I am happy we chose this venue. The staff were all so helpful and pleasant. The venue has wonderful suites to get ready at (bride AND groom, which was important to us) and we were able to utilize the venue for the entirety of the rental time plus morning hours. It was also very helpful that they have their own inventory room to pull from, which really cuts down on decor costs. Talk about a gorgeous space for photos as well!There were two points that made me a little nervous, it was not quite as hands off as I thought it would be as the day was approaching and there felt like a lot to do at the end. As a Type A gal, that was hard for me. The other time was there was one point of confusion in the day with photos and the newer staff member went off to do something and wasn’t there to help guide us through that period of confusion. It worked out in the end (every day can have hiccups, this I know) and outside of those two things, it truly was a wonderful day. I’d say 95% of the entire experience was excellent. I would recommend this venue to another bride and suggest reaching out more proactively 30-60 days out to help avoid the rushed feeling I got towards the end.

We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception at the Estate at Independence.It is a beautiful outdoor and indoor space. The food was wonderful, all the staff was amazing. Kacie was our coordinator, we absolutely loved her. Kacie took on all the communication with the vendors and last minute fixes, alleviating a lot of our stress in the days leading up and the day of the wedding. I highly recommend! Our guests were happy and we had fun at our own wedding! If we had to choose again, 100% would choose the Estate at Independence.

We can’t say enough great things about this venue. Our wedding was pure bliss and independence golf club is amazing inside and out. Our wedding coordinator, Megan, was nothing short of exceptional. She took the time to answer all the questions we have had leading up our big day, she made us feel reassured along the way and listened to our wants and needs and was so flexible (especially with rescheduling us 3x due to COVID19). She absolutely executed our special day without a hitch. We can’t thank her enough. The staff at IGC are so wonderful and friendly. The food was amazing and the views are absolutely stunning and will make for beautiful photos! She took the time to answer all the questions we have had leading up our big day, she made us feel reassured along the way and listened to our wants and needs and was so flexible (especially with rescheduling us 3x due to COVID19). We had booked this venue prior to COVID not knowing, of course, that we would have challenges to safely have our daughter's wedding. Boy, did we make the right decision! With all of the changes we made because of precautions (spacing out tables, moving band and dance floor outside, etc), this was a fantastic option-we were able to rent a beautiful tent and move the dance floor and band outdoors, we were able to spread out our tables into TWO rooms for the dinner portion and the covered pavilion for the ceremony was such a pretty setting (and safer outside, yet covered!)! Everyone commented about how great the food was. Everything looked amazing! Megan (our day-of coordinator from Independence) and her team were spectacular to work with-they set everything up for us (we did nothing) and they broke down everything afterwards as well (we just had to pick up our things another day!). They tended to our every need- most times before we even asked! I cannot say enough great things about having our daughter's wedding here!! We would highly recommend this venue! Absolutely beautiful with many options to choose from and a friendly professional staff to work with!

We had booked this venue prior to COVID not knowing, of course, that we would have challenges to safely have our daughter's wedding. Boy, did we make the right decision! With all of the changes we made because of precautions (spacing out tables, moving band and dance floor outside, etc), this was a fantastic option-we were able to rent a beautiful tent and move the dance floor and band outdoors, we were able to spread out our tables into TWO rooms for the dinner portion and the covered pavilion for the ceremony was such a pretty setting (and safer outside, yet covered!)! Everyone commented about how great the food was. Everything looked amazing! Megan (our day-of coordinator from Independence) and her team were spectacular to work with-they set everything up for us (we did nothing) and they broke down everything afterwards as well (we just had to pick up our things another day!). They tended to our every need- most times before we even asked! I cannot say enough great things about having our daughter's wedding here!! We would highly recommend this venue! Absolutely beautiful with many options to choose from and a friendly professional staff to work with!

My husband and I cannot speak highly enough about Independence! We looked all over for a wedding reception venue (we did a church ceremony) and really struggled with a lot of the restrictions many venues put in place. When we toured with Independence and met with the team, it was a breath of fresh air! The site is stunning and gave us the indoor and outdoor options we wanted for our June nuptials (gorgeous grounds and views, air conditioning was must for our older family members). The team did everything possible to make our experience perfect- they designed a menu with all of our favorite things (even fried green tomatoes), helped us find vendors, collaborated with our florist, decorated the venue with our photos, helped me with making bridal party gifts, and even picked up my wedding gown from the boutique for me! The value of the services was incredible- by far the best food and bar package we found and our guests raved about everything. After dinner and cake they even passed out late-night pizza for guests to enjoy while they danced- so delicious and from their wood-burning pizza oven. Guests were able to mingle between inside and out, play corn hole on the greens, dance in the ballroom, enjoy the delicious food and beverages, etc. The space for the bridal party and me to get ready was huge and accommodated my party of 8 bridesmaids, 3 flower girls, and Mother of the Bride/Groom, and our hair/makeup team and they even catered our lunch with our choices from the restaurant downstairs. We also opted to stay in the honeymoon cottage which was super comfortable and made for a non-stressful transition after the celebration was done. I cannot speak highly enough for Independence and their staff, especially Megan and Beth, who treated us like gold and made sure that we were excited every step of the way. Independence is an incredible venue and they work so hard to meet your needs, work within your budget, and always were so positive and professional to work with. Our day was a dream and we are so grateful for them for making it perfect. Look no further :)

Independence made sure our reception would still happen, and went out of their way to buy generators and lamps in case we lost electricity. Fortunately, it didn't rain and we had our ceremony under the pavilion and it was perfect. The space is naturally gorgeous. Meghan Campbell and her team made sure that everything went smoothly. The food was fantastic, the venue was beautiful, and the outdoor patio is amazing. The bridal suite is great for getting ready in, and the groom/groomsmen rented an on site cottage and had a blast! I would highly recommend this venue for wedding ceremony and receptions. Meghan will make sure you have the wedding of your dreams.

The onsite coordinator, Megan, was extremely responsive and the staff was professional and extremely courteous. I absolutely loved the entire process! Megan and her team were more than wonderful and made sure my husband and I were completely satisfied on our big day! The services they provided were amazing and I am so glad I decided to have my wedding at independence. We had a larger than expected guest list and they accommodated so wonderfully. They also had the lodge and cottages on site so we did not have to travel. It was perfect getting ready there the morning of, and getting pizzas delivered down there for the party after. We had the rehearsal dinner and next morning brunch there as well. The exterior landscaping was lovely and the setting for the wedding ceremony was great - covered and everyone had the perfect seat for a good view of the bride and groom! I recently had my wedding at Independence and it was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Not only is the location convenient but the service is impeccable. My wedding felt like a real fairytale. They had an excellent catering menu and the food was exceptional. This venue is perfect for weddings, work events, weekend getaways, etc. I would recommend Independence to any bride who wishes to be pampered and have a stress-free wedding day. I recently had my wedding at Independence and it was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Not only is the location convenient but the service is impeccable. My wedding felt like a real fairytale. They had an excellent catering menu and the food was exceptional. This venue is perfect for weddings, work events, weekend getaways, etc. I would recommend Independence to any bride who wishes to be pampered and have a stress-free wedding day. I look forward to booking another event with Independence in the near future!

Independence is a true gem of greater Richmond. It is tucked away in such a nice neighborhood and has stunning landscape and gorgeous views. Watching the sunset here is one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind. All the staff and people here are all so friendly and welcoming.

I love independence golf course! It is such a beautiful hidden gem that Richmond has. I have attended multiple weddings and events out here and they have all been amazing. They have a wonderful staff to work with as well. 5 stars all the way!

Independence cancelled our sons wedding celebration. Even though we had signed a contract and paid for the venue, and signed a contract and paid half for the accommodations they cancelled us stating that they double booked. Horrible experience!

Independence Golf Club is Richmond's best kept secret! The facility is absolutely beautiful! It was perfect for my small intimate wedding ceremony and reception... however they can also accommodate large groups. Every aspect of this venue was just perfect from the very friendly outstanding staff to the delicious meals provided by the chef. (Not to mention, the backdrop for this location is a photographer's dream!) They also have awesome overnight accommodations for your party right on the golf course... incredible! I had the honor of being the first bride to use the newly created bridal suite and it was just lovely. The new management of Independence Golf Course got everything right. There just aren't enough words to describe this venue.... you just have to go see it for yourself. I promise you will not be disappointed!

I was the FOB, the Father of the Bride (the one everyone makes fun of). Our middle daughter married a wonderful man and we celebrated their reception here on Sept. 5, 2015. \rIn a word: PERFECT. nothing could have been done better, with one exception: no one saved me any scallops-wrapped-in-bacon. But I lived.\r\rMegan took care of every whim, need, wish, desire, and fantasy that my recently-turned-eight-year-old daughter (or so it seemed, sniff, sniff) requested. She did this over several visits.\r\rMy wife is very good at decorating and Megan was flawless in supporting her. Megan had great ideas about band location, food table location, and timing of events. She was awesome.\r\rThe day of the reception was flawless. Everything went according to plan, because Megan was able to duplicate herself and be at three places at the same time. Everything was perfect: from the outside tables/chairs, to the games and the immaculate lawn.\r\rThis was our second golf clubhouse wedding. The IGC experience was amazing, marvelous, spot-on perfect. I know that was because of Megan's attention to detail and the fantastic crew she hired.\rIt. Was. My husband and I had our reception at the Independence Golf Club at the end of October of 2010. It truly was the best place that we could have found to have our reception in the Richmond area. Compared to other venues in the area like it, it is a great value for the price (lower than all other country clubs), you don't have to have a sponsoring member to vouch for you, and they don't try to stick with you with hidden fees. Their rental fee for the rooms include everything (table/chair/linen rentals, cake cutting fee, etc). They are super flexible and will work with you to do anything that you want. We were going for a just-the-basics kind of reception, so it wasn't too much work to meet with Jocelyn (the event coordinator) a time or two to get the details hammered out. They are also very flexible with when you can drop off decorations, favors, and other things prior to the wedding. We dropped off a bunch of stuff on Thursday before the wedding to be put out the day of and Jocelyn made sure everything was in place. Also, we had our florist drop off some arrangements at about 6pm the day before and those were stored in a refrigerator overnight and put out the day of by Independence staff. The food was also great and easy to arrange for. Independence has set menus for buffets, hors d'oeuvres, and sit down dinners (although they are also willing to design something tailored to you specifically). We chose one of the set buffets for simplicity's sake. It was also reasonably priced considering, like a lot of other country club type places, we had to go with their caterer and couldn't bring our own caterer in. Also, we arranged for pictures to be taken out on the golf course before the reception started--they turned out amazing. Independence made available 6 golf carts to the wedding party to basically go wherever we wanted on the short or long course to take pictures. They turned out spectacular and besides that, it was a lot of fun--a nice relaxing break from the craziness of the day. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with what we paid and the service we got. I would recommend it to any couple who is budget conscious, who doesn't want to deal with country club snobbery, and who wants an absolutely beautiful venue (no matter what time of year) for their reception.

We used Independence as our reception venue. It was perfect! The event coordinator, Jocelyn, was so helpful. I can't imagine a more flexible, positive, willing, and helpful coordinator. She worked with us to make our reception exactly what we wanted. Independence is so flexible and willing to do whatever you can imagine! \rWe started out renting just the two main rooms, but ended up getting a discount on the price of those, and the rest of the club was thrown in for free since we rented the cottage and lodge for the weekend for my family and the bridesmaids to stay in. They were incredible - I would highly recommend renting them if you or relatives need a place to stay. \rThe most impressive thing of all is that we were allowed to come in anytime after 11am on Friday to bring things and set up the rooms for how we wanted it to look the next day. Nowhere else lets you do that!\rIndependence is a wonderful value, breathtakingly beautiful, and a pleasure to work with. Not to mention, the food is delicious - and you get a champagne toast (for everyone) for free! Book here!!!
