Located in Ocean City, NJ, The Flanders Hotel, Banquet, And Conference Center is a seaside destination with a rich and detailed history. Ideal for couples who wish to have a wedding that marries heritage and ocean scenery, this hotel is a coastal historian's dream. Holding residence in Ocean City's Jersey Shore since 1923, The Flanders Hotel is truly a sight to behold. Thanks to the Ocean Front Hotel Corporation, established by the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce, The Flanders Hotel property was purchased and developed. The name of the property was chosen as an homage to Allied troops who had fallen at the Battle of Flanders, fought in Belgium, 1914. Architect Vivian B Smith was commissioned to design the hotel. Smith had previously had a hand in the construction of City Hall, an Ocean City high school, and the iconic Music Pier. Under Smith's direction, The Flanders Hotel was built with sturdy materials and deemed fireproof. After officially opening, the structure became a landmark of the Jersey Shore, inviting those arriving to bask in its splendor and Victorian aesthetic. The establishment's success was in part due to J. Howard Slocum. Mr. Slocum transformed the landscape of Ocean City, introducing and implementing high standards of service to the region. Throughout its first decade, additions were added to up that ante at The Flanders Hotel. A slump hit the city during the 1930s depression era, which continued until after the resolution of World War II. After a brief time of prosperity, the hotel eventually met its closure in 1995. The following year, it was purchased and renovated into a condominium. The 2000s saw a slow rise to financial success, and by the time 2010 rolled around a banquet center was purchased. Now, this year-round destination boasts ballrooms, a restaurant, shops, a spa, a fitness center, a business center, and even a heated pool. With historic treasures hidden throughout, such as the intriguing Flanders Catacombs, this hotel is truly a one-of-a-kind delight. Couples selecting this beachside real estate for their wedding event will have access to the promenade, the Hall of Mirrors, and the Candle Ballroom. Throughout the hotel, vaulted ceilings, golden accents, and glittering chandeliers set a glamorous tone for any celebration. Marble hearths and hardwood floors amplify the venue's sophistication and create a backdrop suitable for photos, films, and dancing the night away. Where to begin!?! The Flanders was an absolute incredible wedding experience from beginning to end. Lisa, Megan and team were amazing to work with. The space is so different than most venues- having the dance floor separate from the dining area allowed so much space and a great experience for our guests. From the cocktail hour, to dinner, to dessert + boardwalk snacks, and breakfast, the food was phenomenal! Cooking for almost 300 guests is no easy task and the chef absolutely nailed it. They provided great vendor recommendations and we were thrilled with everyone we chose! Having your reception at a hotel creates a whole new dynamic to your wedding weekend- the suites were spacious, comfortable and great to get ready in for the big day. Our guests took over most of the hotel and it was so nice to have everyone + everything in one place! Although Ocean City is a dry town- ordering alcohol was an absolute breeze and allowed up to be able to personalize exactly what we wanted. Flanders was everything we hoped for and more! We had the most amazing weekend and would recommend this venue to anyone, hands down. Thank you again for the best weekend!

Lisa and Megan were my rock through the wedding planning process. I was planning from out of state and from our first meeting I knew they had it all under control. There are too many details to even count where they took care of us and made our wedding day perfect. Everything was very structured, which I appreciated. They had decor you can use if you’d prefer. Our wedding at The Flanders was everything we were hoping for and more. Lisa and Megan were amazing to work with and made the entire wedding weekend run so smoothly. The venue itself is beautiful and unique. We had our rehearsal dinner and wedding catered by The Flanders and have gotten so many compliments on how good the food was. The staff for both the events made us feel so special and supported. Lisa and Megan were very communicative the months leading up to the wedding. After the wedding, my husband and I could not stop talking about how smoothly they operate there. We were able to be fully in the moment the whole day without a worry thanks to the amazing staff. We will definitely be returning for future events/anniversaries in the years to come!

Our wedding at The Flanders was amazing! From our initial meeting to the last dance, everything flowed smoothly. Lisa and Megan made the whole process seem easy. From our wedding ceremony to the cocktail hour and reception everything flowed seamlessly. Working with Lisa was like having a close friend plan our wedding. She genuinely cared about every detail no matter how small. We received so many compliments on the food! We chose the Asian station for the cocktail hour and it was a huge hit! The meals were delicious and our guests raved about the fun and yummy Taste of the Boardwalk. Our guests were impressed with the service and attentiveness of the staff. Lisa and Megan worked with our vendors to make sure our special day was perfect. They handled all of the small details that I thought we would have to handle ourselves. We truly felt like we were in the best hands and The Flanders definitely delivered. More than one guest told us ours was the best wedding they had ever attended. We felt the same! FLAWLESS. Words cannot describe how amazing the staff is at The Flanders Hotel. Everything was perfect. Lisa and Megan are a dynamic duo. They were quick to respond and helped make our romantic, winter wedding vision come true. They genuinely want you and your guests to have the best day ever. They handled everything perfectly and we felt we were in the best hands. All of our guests could not get over the service, food, and attentiveness of the staff. FIVE STARS! They even packed everything up at the end of the night for us and had it waiting for us the next day and even sent some of it to our rooms. We honestly had nothing to worry about the day of our wedding, they handled everything!! The Flanders Hotel does it all and they do it WELL. If you are getting married anywhere in the Jersey shore area this is where you need to have your wedding.I am not even sure where to begin! We started months ago with Karen who made our choices and tastings seamless. She made suggestions when we were not sure of something and explained what both the bride and groom and the guests would appreciate the most. Lisa kept in touch with things that needed to be taken care of early on and never hesitated to answer our questions immediately no matter how small or inconsequential they may have been.Fast forward to about 6 weeks before the wedding. Megan, every few days, gently prodded us on what she still needed from us and a schedule for what we needed to submit. If it had not been for these constant communications this wedding would not have happened. The bride works 50 to 60 hours a week. Megan just said she understood and stayed in constant contact with us. She met with us two days before the wedding. We still had stuff that needed to be given to her and she just calmly told us all would be well.The day before the wedding came and the groom brought in his own photo booth, signing board, and scaffolding for the windows that would contain the seating charts. Everything was set up for him: a table for the signing board, a spot for the photo booth, and a discussion and great placement of the scaffolding. The windows were not finished and the bride and I were panicking. Megan and Lisa said to send them the names and they would take care of it. The bride thought she had sent them but as we came back from pictures (one hour before the reception) Lisa met us at the door to say they had not received them. Lisa and Megan supplied the bride with paper and pen and she would write down one table at a time hand it to Megan until all were finished. Megan even tried to match the bride's handwriting on the windows!Now comes the reception! Amazing! The food was exceptional along with the service. We had a raw bar that never ran out in addition to butlered appetizers and appetizer stations. The bride and groom chose a mac and cheese bar (a chef individually prepared portions of mac and cheese adding up to 10 toppings). I was skeptical but it was a hit! Our main courses were filet, Chilean sea bass and herb chicken. Everything was delicious. Every allergy was addressed even those we did not find out about until the night of the reception. The progression of events went exactly as Megan had said they would. We had to do nothing ourselves and felt like royalty with the way we were treated. In the room where we went to line up to enter the reception, was a full tray of the appetizers which I had not had time to eat and I was really appreciative that I got to finally munch on a few! I am still receiving texts and emails from our guests raving about the wedding. At the end of the wedding a group from the Flanders took all gifts, cards, left overs,etc. up to our room and even put things needing to be refrigerated in the refrigerator.There are so many more things I could say but I think I got my point across. This was the most phenomenal wedding I have ever attended because of the folks who work at the Flanders! My daughter will have this wonderful memory all of her life!One more thing, the folks at the front desk were also great: answering questions, giving out gift bags, etc.!Have your reception here. You will not regret one minute of it!

We had the most perfect, small/intimate wedding in the Garden Room on November 19, 2022. Following our church ceremony, we took photos in the promenade area which was beyond beautiful with great lighting and photo ops. We also took photos on the beach & boardwalk which gave us beautiful & sentimental shots. Following photos, we had our cocktail hour in the promenade. All of our guests LOVED the Hors D'oeuvres and platters offered during this time. We then had our dinner & reception in the Garden Room which was absolutely beautiful! Flanders decorated the space beautifully with navy blue linens, white napkins, gold chargers, and their house gold centerpieces. Our introductions and Grand Entrance were done by walking down a beautiful staircase into the Garden Room which was romantic and sweet. All of the food was very good, and we received many compliments on our wedding. Guests also LOVED the hotel rooms, especially for people with children. The suites made it so easy for guests to spend time with each other in their rooms, as they had a small kitchen & living room space. It was such a great location to have a wedding, and all of our out-of-town guests enjoyed Ocean City. I wouldn't have changed anything about my wedding and would highly recommend Flanders!!

We had our wedding in September at Flanders. Lisa and Karen were amazing!! It was a great setting as we had our ceremony on the beach and the reception in the Garden Room. They took care of it all! And the best part was the people. Everyone was so accommodating and so personal. They were not your typical wedding venue in the fact that they were down to earth and just wanted us to have the best day ever! All our guests stated it was one of the best weddings they have been too! The food was amazing from the cocktail hour, to the sit down dinner. I strongly recommend this venue!

Karen and her team were absolutely AMAZING with helping to plan our beach wedding at The Flanders. We had to reschedule TWICE due to COVID restrictions but never had to pay anything extra. When the big day finally came, Karen and her team were well prepared so we never had to worry about anything throughout the day/evening. Her team stopped boardwalk traffic during the ceremony procession and did a stunning job of setting up the cocktail hour/reception space. The food was bountiful and delicious with many guests commenting how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever tasted. At the end of the night, the staff even brought all our decorations up to the bridal suite which was super convenient. Thanks again for making our big day truly one to remember!

The Flanders Hotel is absolutely beautiful. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, and post-wedding breakfast at the Flanders Hotel. The food is absolutely AMAZING. Karen is so great to work with. She really knows her stuff!! She had excellent recommendations and was SUPER easy to work with. She's very responsive and answered all of our questions quickly and gave us honest feedback when we asked for her opinion and guidance. We opted to get the enhanced package which added several additional options to our cocktail hour, and the \"taste of the boardwalk\" additional dessert display. Our Cocktail hour was hosted in the Promenade and was absolutely amazing. They were even able to capture the essence of our dog in the form of an ice sculpture!! Our reception was hosted in both of the ballrooms which were gorgeous and really made our wedding feel so elegant. Our Rehearsal dinner and Post-Wedding breakfast were hosted in the Garden room. The Flanders Hotel is absolutely beautiful. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, and post-wedding breakfast at the Flanders Hotel. The food is absolutely AMAZING. Karen is so great to work with. She really knows her stuff!! She had excellent recommendations and was SUPER easy to work with. She's very responsive and answered all of our questions quickly and gave us honest feedback when we asked for her opinion and guidance. We opted to get the enhanced package which added several additional options to our cocktail hour, and the \"taste of the boardwalk\" additional dessert display. Our Cocktail hour was hosted in the Promenade and was absolutely amazing. They were even able to capture the essence of our dog in the form of an ice sculpture!! Our reception was hosted in both of the ballrooms which were gorgeous and really made our wedding feel so elegant. Our Rehearsal dinner and Post-Wedding breakfast were hosted in the Garden room. The Staff at the Flanders is amazing and everyone was so welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend the Flanders to everyone!

Everyone is still raving about our wedding; the building is beautiful, the food was fantastic and plentiful, and the day ran so smooth. The convenience of having everyone in one historical place all day was so good. None of our guests had anything to worry about. I had nothing to worry about thanks to Karen, who is just as amazing as all of these reviews say. Our wedding was truly perfect at the Flanders Hotel.

Truthfully, this is a very beautiful venue. The food is excellent. But working with them as a vendor leaves a lot to be desired. They are not very responsive or communicative. They are also not very helpful. If you are planning a wedding for the first time and don't know where to begin, don't expect any help or communication regarding what you need to/should do. The \"coordinators\" are just a sales team to get you to choose them and spend with them. At the end of the day we had a beautiful wedding and they worked with us to ensure we had all we needed. But in retrospect I would not have selected this venue if I had known how much trouble we would encounter.

We had our wedding at the Flanders and it was absolutely perfect! Karen was incredible to work with throughout the whole process from our first tour until the end of our reception. She made the entire process simple and let us customize the day to be exactly what we wanted. We had our wedding at The Flanders Hotel and it was an absolute dream! Everything was absolutely perfect and I wouldn’t change a single thing. We had to wait an extra year to have our wedding due to COVID and it was totally worth the wait!! Our ceremony was supposed to be outside on the beach and unfortunately due to weather we had to have it inside. The staff worked extremely hard to make the ceremony perfect and intimate! The food was absolutely amazing. From the cocktail hour to dinner, all the food was so delicious. Our guests raved about the food and couldn’t stop complimenting it. Our guests loved the Taste of the Boardwalk, the Raw Bar, and the Mac n Cheese bar. It was so unique and so delicious!! Karen was so awesome to work with. She is honest and will make your wedding perfect! She always made us a priority and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. The head chef was also great and made sure we loved the menu for our special day. I am so lucky to have had my perfect/dream wedding at the Flanders Hotel!!

Cut our guest list in half and changed our entire plan from our original. Karen, the wedding coordinator, was outstanding. She supported all of our decisions every step of the way. She was so accommodating and understanding of the stress we were dealing with. We could not have been more lucky to choose this for our venue! Finally on May 1st, 2021, with the help of Karen and the amazing staff at the Flanders, our dream wedding finally came to life! It was the most perfect day! We wished we could rewind and do it all again. Everything we truly wanted, we got, thanks to the Flanders wedding team! Our guests complimented us on everything from the beautiful atmosphere, to the food, drinks, and staff! We had the best experience and thanks to Karen and the team we won’t be remembering all of the drama! Only wonderful memories of our perfect wedding day!

We were BLOWN AWAY!!! The Flanders went above and beyond every expectation we ever had. My husband and I could not have been happier with our winter wedding. Karen and her staff are amazing. They are so easy to work with and were such a big help throughout the entire planning process. I was so worried about Ocean City being a dry town and was under the impression that getting the alcohol would be difficult. I couldn't have been more wrong. The Flanders put us in touch with Circle Liquors and we were able to serve every single beverage we wanted at our wedding. It even ended up being cheaper for us to do it this way. Circle Liquors delivered to the Flanders and picked up. We did not have to do anything other than decide what we wanted and give our guest count. Guests raved about the food for days. The space was decorated beautifully. They had two huge, real, flock Christmas trees. The Flanders put us in touch with our amazing photographer. The suites in the hotel are amazing. Having everything in one location made it so easy and enjoyable for our guests. I could go on and on. Our day could not have been more perfect. Choosing the Flanders was the best decision we made.

Karen and her team were amazing through this process, both understanding and flexible helping us work through it all. The Flanders Hotel did an excellent job working with us and hosting our wedding during the 2020 COVID Pandemic. We were forced to change our wedding date twice because of the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus. Furthermore, the state of New Jersey implemented a ban on indoor dining which meant that our event had to take place entirely outside. Karen Bergman at the Flanders Hotel did an incredible job working with us and her team at the hotel to ensure we had a beautiful outdoor wedding venue by the pool. The Flanders Hotel did an excellent job working with us and hosting our wedding during the 2020 COVID Pandemic. We were forced to change our wedding date twice because of the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus. Furthermore, the state of New Jersey implemented a ban on indoor dining which meant that our event had to take place entirely outside. Karen Bergman at the Flanders Hotel did an incredible job working with us and her team at the hotel to ensure we had a beautiful outdoor wedding venue by the pool. While our wedding was not what we planned, it ended up being better than we could have ever imagined because Karen and the Flanders did such a good job walking us through every step of the way. I would strongly encourage every couple looking for the perfect New Jersey beach wedding to explore what the Flanders has to offer.

We were very lucky that the weather was warm & sunny, and that the coronavirus restrictions didn't begin until the day after! The Garden Room was the perfect size for us, with about 50 guests. The staff was great, anticipating our needs and even convincing us to walk down the large staircase in the room ;)Definitely recommend this venue!

I cannot recommend the Flanders Hotel enough as a wedding venue! We had the most amazing New Year’s Eve wedding there, and every single part of the day was flawless. Karen and Brooke are the most dedicated and detail-oriented wedding coordinators, who listen to your ever need and go above and beyond for you. I grew up in Ocean City and have passed by the Flanders close to 1000 times. I even had my prom there! You would think that because of the familiarity, it would have lost its charm on me but I honesty felt the opposite. I was completely enchanted! The venue is perfect the mix of opulence and grandeur with the laid-back nature of a beach town where everyone is family. There are so many options to choose from regarding ceremony, cocktail and reception space, that it can meet any vision. All of the staff are incredibly professional and highly experienced. The food is delicious and the menu is extensive enough that you can curate something for everyone. Also because you bring in your own alcohol (Ocean City is a dry town) you get to pick exactly what you want! When we ask our guests about the day, the quality of food and drink comes up first. It was also incredibly convenient for out of town friends and family, because they were able to stay at the hotel. We used the penthouse as our bridal suite which overlooked the ocean. Getting ready there was peaceful and easy. The Flanders is a the perfect canvas for any wedding, wether you're looking laid-back beach vibe or a black-tie affair.

My guests still are raving about the servers and there experience. Karen is AMAZING. She is so attentive and made the whole experience so easy. This venue is so special to me now. It’s gorgeous inside and just so unique. I went to one venue when I was looking and it was this one and I booked the next day. I would recommend the Flanders to anyone looking to have the perfect Jersey shore wedding with a vintage antique feel. I’m still at a loss for how great the whole day was. All of my guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been too with the most amazing food!!

Karen and Gina were both super helpful with planning and communicating leading up to the big day, and the day of went so smoothly. The food was delicious, and they really helped us personalize everything. I.e. they added Pirogies to our cocktail menu even though it’s not something they normally offer. Any time I had a question, BOOM they would respond. The team I passionate, professional and always open to talk ideas. We got married recently at The Flanders Hotel and it was the best day of my life! Karen and team worked with me to make all my childhood OCNJ dreams come to life at my wedding. From preps pizza to oceanside views, everything was PERFECT! Karen, Jenn, and Gina are AMAZING to work with! They are responsive, eased all my concerns, and were always willing to work with me. They never answered me with a no when I was dreaming up a wedding aspect, but instead worked with me to make it happen - it was amazing! I am a control freak and was worried my day would not come to life - but Gina decorated everything just perfectly! I never even had to worry the moment the day began as everything went perfect. The venue is amazing as well. It is breath-taking beautiful with endless details. It gives an elegant but beachy vibe with the gorgeous amusement park lights in the windows of the crystal ballroom. Overal -- they provide amazing food, amazing decor and a great group of people to work with. We did the ceremony and reception here and it was perfect. Everyone had a blast and I am still getting compliments weeks later. Thank you for everything, we are so grateful we chose the Flanders for the most important day of our lives.

I cannot overstate what an amazing job The Flanders did for our wedding - nothing was spared. They went above and beyond to make sure everything we wanted was done. Our guests commented on how everything was absolutely perfect! The food was amazing, everything was decorated beautifully, and the service was unmatched. They made our day go by without any issues and did everything (and more!) that we asked for. We cannot be happier with how everything turned out!

If you are searching for a wedding venue, you no longer need to look. We had our wedding here in August 2018 and it was spectacular. Karen and Jenn are absolutely top notch professionals. They handled all of our questions and requests with ease and knowledge. Trusting somebody with the details of your wedding can be stressful, but Karen and Jenn make everything happen flawlessly. Leading up to the wedding, they were on top of everything each step of the way. The weekend/day of was smooth as can be. The food was absolutely delicious and everybody was raving about the amount of options and the freshness of the food.We've been to many, many weddings in a variety of settings and I am proud to say that we had our wedding at the Flanders. It is the most organized, well-run, delicious, friendly, put together venue we have been to. The staff are absolutely wonderful as well - we heard many compliments from our guests on how they were treated. One of our guests was pooped on by a seagull walking into the wedding and they took his shirt and laundered it! Talk about service. I cannot recommend this place enough!!

The flanders was above and beyond during the whole process. Karen was available for any of the (million) random questions I had during the whole process. She made everything very easy for us and we had a much more relaxed planning experience than most. She even was game to try some of our not so traditional wedding day details. Day of our guests were raving about the food and the quality of the hotel rooms. we had a blast and the ceremony on the beach was beautifiul. Karen and her crew helped us have the best wedding we could have ever imagined. Every last detail was amazing. Karen was such a pleasure to work with, so responsive, friendly and professional! We had our ceremony on the beach and it was absolutely beautiful. Karen and her new assistant Janine really calmed my nerves right before the ceremony. We booked the garden room for our reception and Karen and her team made the room look so beautiful. The venue was beautiful, the food was AMAZING, and the staff far exceeded our expectations. At the end of the night the staff helped us clean up and even packaged left overs for us and delivered everything including my decor and anything anyone left behind to our complimentary room. I would 100 times over recommend anyone to have their wedding at the Flanders. also highly recommend having the taste of the board walk- my guest are still talking about it!

We just recently got married in August 2018 here and it was so amazing!!! Everything Karen and Jenn said was going to be done was. Our original plan was to be married outdoors on the beach, but we booked the garden room as a backup in case weather became an issue (I highly recommend this option). The day of the wedding, the weather was iffy. We decided to attempt an outdoor ceremony, but just before it was set to begin the sky opened up. Karen and her team were AMAZING. They were able to pull everything inside quickly and had the garden room set up ready to go. Our ceremony was able to begin on time because of the wonderful work of Karen and her team.Everything was beautiful. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all set up better than I could have imagined. Karen is really great at what she does and knows how to plan a wedding and make it go off without any issues. I put full trust in Karen and she deserves all the praise for how seamless the wedding went. Everyone has told us that it was the best wedding and the food was spectacular.

We recently got married at The Flanders Hotel and it was the most perfect day ever, thanks to Karen and her wonderful staff. I cannot say enough good things about this place and its people. From the front desk, to the chef, to the amazing wedding coordinators, Karen and Jenn, this is a TOP NOTCH place with TOP NOTCH people. Karen and Jenn were an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. They were always responsive, helped with my many questions, eased my concerns, and took care of everything the day of our wedding. I’m an avid planner, and a control freak, so I feared I wouldn’t be able to calm down and enjoy my day, but Karen and Jenn completely took over and I was at such an ease on my wedding day - I had nothing to worry about it, thanks to them! This venue has everything you could want for your wedding -- they provide amazing food, amazing decor and a great group of people to work with. They have so many great rooms to choose from that we also held our ceremony here - it was just too beautiful not to! This is a great spot on the boardwalk for a beach wedding, but it also served as a wonderful backdrop to our vintage, romantic, fairy tale inspired day. My husband and I can’t stop talking about how wonderful our day was and it’s all thanks to The Flanders. Thank you for everything, we are so grateful!

But the experience I had with them, specifically working along side both Karen Bergman, and her Assistant Jennifer far exceeded any expectation that we could have ever dreamed of. Let me tell you...everyday for the past 8 months, my fiance and I had been working tirelessly planning and imagining with every detail with how we wanted our wedding to really look, feel and go down. When the time finally came to hand the reigns over to Karen and Jenn, we could see how they became the most well known, most professional, and most charamastic amazing people that we could ever dream of where and how we'd like our wedding to be done. Oh boy, I don't think I can accurately put into words how amazing it was to get married at The Flanders earlier this month. We worked with Karen and Jenn for about a year prior to the wedding, and there was not a single moment that made us wonder if we'd made the right choice. Even from another state, planning a wedding at The Flanders was easy and about as stress-free as it gets, and my husband and I spent most of our wedding day and night just in awe of the little touches that Karen and Jenn provided to make our day extra special. Our guests are still raving about the food (it was incredible AND unique...we went with a boardwalk theme and our dessert included Rita's!) and how professional and detail-oriented everyone at The Flanders was the entire time. It's clear that this is what they DO, and I can't imagine our day having been any better. We just want to do it over and over again. Budget was important to us too, and to have such a beautiful ceremony on the beach with an equally gorgeous reception in a top-notch hotel seemed so out of reach, but not with The Flanders. An incredible value, incredible people, and truly the best day ever. We'll forever be grateful.

I have no words to describe how incredible our wedding was...The Flanders Hotel was extremely accommodating on the best of our lives, making sure that every detail was in place, that every vendor knew where they were supposed to go, what to do, etc. The food at the Flanders is absolutely superb and tasted just as amazing as our tasting did. We got married in the back ballroom and created a completely new set up which they were so cool with, and then had the reception in the crystal ballroom. This place is spacious, the guests had plenty of room to walk around and hang out, the staff are warm, friendly and on point, and Jen and Karen are absolutely wonderful to work with. I had no doubts that this would be a perfect fit and it truly was. You cannot beat an amazing venue, with amazing food, staff, and coordinators. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we love you guys!Tami and Ryan

From the food, to the decor, to the service, not one missed detail. This was a second marriage and at our age , we've been to a lot of weddings,and I'm telling you this by far was the most organized. Everything was over the top OUTSTANDING! I really wanted a wedding venue with character and elegance, and the Flanders hotel provided just that! My June wedding was beyond perfect!! with a guest list of 165 I was a little worried that the venue would feel too big and empty, but it was so perfect. Our ceremony held in the candlelight room was SO ROMANTIC! It flowed so nicely right into cocktail hour and dinner. Karen and Jennifer were so accommodating and we truly felt taken care of. My vendors were all well coordinated! My husband and I received so many compliments on the beauty of the hotel, the flow of the entire day, and THE FOOD!! We had such an incredible night. My bridesmaids and I stayed in the Southview penthouse the night before the wedding, which was so beautiful. Thanks for a night we will never forget, Karen and Jennifer!!

We just had the wedding of our DREAMS at The Flander's this past Saturday night (New Years Eve). Everything was BEYOND perfection.Karen and her assistant Jennifer were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were beyond professional and so organized to make sure our special day ran as smooth as possible. Karen's staff did a beautiful job setting up everything to perfection. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Karen we seriously can't thank you enough. You're amazing at what you do!!If anyone is planning a wedding in the near future I would 100 percent recommend The Flanders. Believe me you won't be disappointed!!!!

From your first tour all the way through your event and beyond, Karen, Jennifer, and the entire amazing staff of The Flanders treat you with the utmost care and professionalism. Every call/e-mail was always quickly responded to, and no question was too great or too small. Karen and Jennifer treated us like family, and on the day of our wedding I can honestly say I did not worry about a single thing! They accommodated each and every request happily and with ease, whether it involved delivering glow-sticks to our DJ or bringing in every appetizer for the bridal party to try after our guests had finished cocktail hour. I so loved my experience at The Flanders, and I am already thinking about the next event I can hold there! Brides and grooms, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Karen and Jennifer at The Flanders were fabulous to work with coordinating our wedding! They never made us feel like we were an inconvenience, and offered helpful tips every step of the way (for example, we should have listened to them when we told them who our florist was, and trusted their opinion). We had both our reception and our ceremony at the Flanders (ceremony was on the beach), and everything was absolutely beautiful. Also, the food got rave reviews from all of our wedding guests - Mmm! We are planning to go back there for our 1st year anniversary to have the food again! You really can't go wrong booking at The Flanders. We had so much fun and enjoyed our experience there so much, we would have a second wedding just to have it there again!

We had a GREAT experience having our wedding at the Flanders. The staff was great to deal with, the service night of was wonderful, and the food was excellent. We had tons of emails after the wedding from guests raving about how great the food was.... 'not great just for a wedding- but truly great food!' Blake is a fabulous chef and if you have something you are dying to have at your wedding food wise... he'll make it happen. In terms of value, you can't beat a venue where you can BYO your alcohol, and if anything starts to run low they'll run more over. We had our ceremony on the beach and the set up looked great. We opted out of extra chairs since our ceremony was less than 10 minutes long and I'm glad we didn't waste the extra money for those few minutes. We had them bring out all the boardwalk food around 10pm all around the dance floor so people could grab food and eat it while they kept on dancing which people loved. If you need help in the planning/decorations Karen and her staff have great ideas and items for you to use. I, on the other hand, had my own ideas, and strong opinions on what I wanted, so it did take a few conversations/requests to get them to deviate from what they typically do and execute what I wanted. It was so helpful to have Karen as not only the main contact at the venue, but she also acts as day-of coordinator which takes away lots of stress and even ran our beach ceremony rehearsal the night before- she wears a ton of hats and does it well! We had some guests who had a little too much fun at the wedding and Karen had everything so much under control that we didn't even find out about going 'amiss' until the next day- she's a true pro! At first I was hesitant with the venue because we wanted one big room so that people who were sitting and dancing were all in the same space, as well as the bar. I talked to a few acquaintances who had weddings there who said they had the same initial hesitation but that it played out like one big room and people weren't separated which changed my mind. The set up with all the doors opening the spaces to each other, as well as the lounge they set up in the back of the huge ballroom made it feel like one room.

I honestly do not know where to begin as I think about how amazing of a venue the historic Flanders is. My family and I have always had a love of Ocean City. Travelling there every summer, I never imagined I would be one of the brides I saw on the beach. From the beginning Karen Bergman has been so welcoming, kind, professional, and trustworthy. We were able to choose a custom package within our budget. We were married on the beach, and our reception was in the gorgeous and bright Garden Room. For a daytime wedding, the Garden Room is a beautiful location! I cannot express how beautiful the venue during cocktail hour and the reception were as the Flanders worked with our florist, The Manic Botanic. Karen honored our every request to go along with our theme. The entire Flanders staff was so kind to our family and friends. Our beautiful room was such a great place to get ready. Divine Images Salon also made my entire bridal party beautiful! Sokphal honored my every request in the Beautiful Bride package. She did my hair, nails, and airbrush makeup. I highly recommend the convenience and kindness of the staff to any Flanders bride! Mary is also very kind and flexible to work with. She ensure all of our needs were met!I am still receiving compliments about our food! We enjoyed a wonderful food tasting prior to the wedding and even chose Manco and Manco pizza as an hors d'oeuvre! I am so impressed with how delicious our food was and how kind Chef Blake, the wait staff, and our Maître D' were! If you dream of a beautiful beach wedding in a venue with a history, professional staff, and beautiful area, look into the Flanders! Each detail of your wedding will become a reality, and you will not be disappointed! Our wedding day was truly a dream come true!

Everything was a breeze with Flanders on our side! The staff was so wonderful and accommodating during our engagement and wedding. The chef is top notch as well! They even made the food station unique! We had guests saying they saw food everywhere they looked, they said everything was delicious . Karen and Jennifer even helped with key details the day before the wedding to make it so much more than I even imagined. They are phenomenal about making sure your wedding goes perfectly. Everything was a breeze with Flanders on our side! The staff was so wonderful and accommodating during our engagement and wedding. The chef is top notch as well! They even made the food station unique! We had guests saying they saw food everywhere they looked, they said everything was delicious . Flanders is the perfect place to have a wedding, words cannot express how happy we are that we chose the Flanders.

Our daughter was married on May 14, 2016 at the Flanders. The reception was over the top. We would not change a thing about the day if we did it all again. The venue is beautiful. The food is abundant and absolutely amazing. The wait staff, bartenders, chef and banquet coordinators could not have been more professional. The hotel rooms are magnificent. Our guests are still calling us and raving about the food, hotel, location and of course our beautiful bride and handsome groom. Now we know why so many people have loved their weddings at the Flanders. No need to look anywhere else. For an elegant Ocean City experience for a wedding, this boardwalk venue has it all.!!Thank you Flanders staff. We are all still floating in our memories of a beautiful wedding!!

Our daughter was married on May 14, 2016 at the Flanders. The reception was over the top. We would not change a thing about the day if we did it all again. The venue is beautiful. The Knot doesn't allow for enough characters to cover the amount of issues we had, trust me, I tried...so here's the short and sweet version: if you don’t care about what your wedding looks like or how the coordinator treats you, your family, or friends, this is a great place to have a wedding. Otherwise, RUN FAR, FAR AWAY. Save your time, money and most of all…your sanity. \r\rAfter my reception was completed, I heard from MULTIPLE people…I’m saying out of 75 attendees, at least 20 of them came up to me and said that Karen was outright rude or at minimum brusque to my guests and family members including my own mother and new husband. I certainly didn’t want to start off my marriage apologizing on behalf of the staff that we paid a ridiculous amount of money to do their job and be professional. I personally witnessed Karen speak extremely rudely to my new husband’s 91 year old grandmother saying, “I’m with the bride and groom right now, you’ll have to wait.” with a pointer finger in her face during the reception. While I appreciate being placed into priority, I can’t imagine anything his grandmother had to ask or say would take up more than 5 seconds of her time. I was so stunned I couldn’t even correct her in time to remediate the situation and found myself hunting down my new in-laws to personally apologize for Karen’s behavior during my reception. Not something that I should have to do on my wedding day, to be sure. \r\rThere were a few saving graces that kept me from all out feeling like my day was completely ruined. To name a few, the other staff members Gabrielle, Glenn and Tyler went out of their way to make sure that we, the bride and groom, and our guests were taken care of at every turn. They were swift to help whenever I asked them to fix something that our coordinator, Karen, missed and they did so gracefully. They were always checking with both me and my husband during the reception to ensure that we didn’t need anything at all, even a glass of water. They always asked, “How can I help?” or, “Is there anything at all I can do for you?” Amazing customer service. The food was excellent, and the venue looks beautiful. Unfortunately for them, this is where the positive feedback begins and ends.

My new husband and could not be more impressed with our experience with The Flanders and The Flanders staff. The level of service and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. \r\rThe beach ceremony was gorgeous! Worried about the weather on the first day of November we still took a chance. Karen Bergman and her staff were ready for any changes (moving indoors, tide changes, wind). The sun came out about 40 minutes before the ceremony and the tide went out. The staff adjusted seats so the guests were comfortable with the wind and the sun. It was a perfect beach wedding moment for me and I was overwhelmed by the experience. \r\rKnowing we were greeting our guests and mingling during our cocktail hour, the staff provide our wedding party and ourselves with a few minutes to have our own warm appetizers and cocktails as our guests moved to the ballroom. The staff made sure we knew when our dinner was served as we were mingling with our guests. The Matre 'D made certain that we as the bride and groom always had what we needed (drinks,etc) and offered at times when we forgot because we were busy. \r\rOur guests raved about their overall experience too. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding (food, accommodations and service) they've ever been too. What amazed us the most about our sit-down, serviced dinner was how everyone's meal came out equally hot and the temperature of their proteins were exact. It was easily the best food we've ever had. \r\rMy parents (the bride) were impressed by how they were attended to as well as the rest of the bridal party. The staff made sure their meals stayed warm if they got up from their seats. The staff made sure they had drinks whenever they needed refreshing. Anything they needed; they were taken care of. \r\rA bride worries about how her vision is going to be executed. She wonders when that horrible moment of \"what am I going to do?\" is going to happen. I had no worries and I never had that moment. The whole day was smooth and easy. Karen Bergman and her staff did an impeccable job of executing my vision even better than I had expected it to be. They created the perfect dream beach wedding for me. There is absolutely nothing I would have like to see done differently. Again... It exceeded our expectations.

I think the best decision we made in our wedding planning was picking the Flanders for our ceremony, reception and rehearsal dinner. Karen was an absolute pleasure to work with. She obviously loves her job (and is great at it) and her enthusiasm was fantastic. She came up with some great ideas for our wedding (from food to decor) and was fantastic at letting us personalize a lot of the details to our own tastes. From the fish and chips station and pimms' cup at our cocktail hour to the late night boardwalk snack with manco and manco pizza, Karen made sure that our wedding reflected our personalities and tastes. She is incredibly, responsive, detail-oriented, professional and, above all, fun and and a pleasure to work with. \r\rThe venue itself is gorgeous and perfect for hosting your whole weekend - from the rehearsal dinner in the garden room to a ceremony on the beach and dinner and dancing in the two ballrooms, the Flanders is a great venue. It also includes a ton of things other venues charge extra for - a massive assortment of linens in tons of colors, beautiful chairs that don't require chair covers, a ton of decor that you can use free of charge and the use of a great wedding coordinator. Also a huge plus that you can bring your own alcohol - a massive cost savings!

I don't know where to begin! Karen, Chef Blake, Gabrielle, and the whole Flanders staff were absolutely incredible. From our first meeting to the end of our reception, everything was perfect! They went above and beyond to make sure that our Great Gatsby wedding was just what we wanted. Nothing was out of the question. We had a small issue, we did not have enough escort card holders (of course our fault), but Karen and her team handled it all so I did not have to stress the day of. All of our guests have said that is the best wedding they have even been to! Amazing food, wonderful venue, incredible staff!
