Leah Oliver(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-05-2022 Hosting our 66 person wedding at the Gables was an absolute DREAM. The venue is impeccable, classic, tasteful, and very clearly well cared for. The owners, Sondra and Steve, are incredibly hands on and do everything in their power to make the weekend special. The breakfast in the mornings with both my family and my husband's family will forever be some of my favorite memories. Steve is up early making sure water is filled, glasses are restocked, and coffee is hot and plentiful. My husband and I love food so this was a very important aspect of wedding planning for us. The food was outstanding and many of our guests said it was the best they have had. The flowers are so beautiful and plentiful. I had high expectations but the Gables surpasses every expectation I had and it was truly the wedding of our dreams. The Gables and LBI will forever be a special place to us and we can't wait to celebrate anniversaries here in the future. Reviewed on 25-05-2022

Paul King(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 We could not have asked for a more gorgeous setting for our wedding reception than the Gables. This beautifully restored Victorian inn has a special magic to it that you feel the moment you walk in the door. The dining rooms are meticulously decorated, and the gorgeous flowers and foliage both in front of the venue and in the back garden are something to behold. The owners, Sondra and Steve, are true hospitality professionals whose depth of experience putting on weddings truly shows.First off, the service and the food at our event was outstanding. Sondra met with us numerous times to custom-tailor menu options that reflected us as a couple and that would appeal to our guests. Our h'ors d'oeuvres included items both traditional (pigs in blankets) and unexpected (carrot-ginger soup with a single poached shrimp served in small espresso mugs). Our guests were delighted. If you've ever dined at the Gables (they are open daily in the summer for dinner service), you already know that they serve extraordinary cuisine prepared by a virtuosic chef. At our wedding, we served a three-course meal, the second course of which was a ravioli in sage brown butter sauce that our guests are still raving about to this day. While dinner was served in the beautiful ambience of the Gables dining rooms and on the front porch, the dance party happened in their back garden, which is about as intimate and romantic a setting as you can find. It was perfect for speeches and toasts, and for a night spent dancing under the stars. Truly we could not have asked for a more wonderful day, and we're grateful to Sondra, Steve, and the entire Gables staff for making our wedding day one that we, and our guests, will remember forever. We can't recommend this venue highly enough (and we already can't wait to celebrate our anniversary there over dinner!) Reviewed on 02-02-2019

The venue is so romantic and dreamy and I actually choose the rehearsal dinner location before I choose my wedding venue. My husband and I even stayed in the Bridal Suite for our wedding weekend. From the moment I saw this beautiful victorian B&B I knew it would be the perfect gathering place for my closest friends and family. The food is exceptional and the owner Sondra was extremely considerate to ensure a smooth night. We can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries at The Gables. Reviewed on 14-11-2018

The Gables is an absolute dream wedding location. It is a quaint inn with delicious fine food, an open-air porch for dining and a staff that is welcoming, professional and truly passionate about what they do. Sondra, the owner, is wonderful to work with. She supports her couples, but also checks in with me to ensure I am getting what I need. It is great to photograph at an establishment that will work with me to ensure success. The rooms have much character and charm and present a great, and convenient, backdrop for getting ready in. As a photographer, I love the little spots I can find around the inn to create great images and being in a setting that really fosters an intimate and relaxed vibe. The Gables is located just a block or so from the beach which makes it easy to head over to take pictures there as well. The setting is ideal for intimate weddings. Guests are able to wander the inn and enjoy not only the front porch, but the back garden courtyard where beautiful ceremonies are held and beverages and dancing can be enjoyed in the fresh air. The atmosphere creates a calm, stress-free setting that allows both the couple and the guests to really enjoy themselves in a unique setting that is like no other in New Jersey. I absolutely adore The Gables and my Gables couples. I've promised myself I will find a reason to have a party there myself one day because I love it that much. Reviewed on 31-10-2018

Sondra (the owner) and Sarah (our wedding planner) did such a great job putting together a magical evening for us! The Gables is filled with fresh flowers, candles, and romantic decor so we hardly had to add any decorations for the event. We did stations for food (all excellent!) and had dancing in the courtyard. The evening was truly perfect and that is largely due to the amazing staff at The Gables. It is an LBI gem and we can’t wait to go back for dinner! Reviewed on 30-10-2018

Sandy was very helpful along with Sondra about helping and guiding us throughout the process. We used Deborah Whitcraft as the officiant and got married in the backyard which is also where the dancing and cocktail hour were. We also used Steve Kramer who occasional plays the piano at the Gables to play during dinner time. Everything was perfect. We had a small wedding (66 people) and it was the perfect setting. From the venue selection process all the way through helping us pack up our extra cake and supplies the morning after our wedding, Sandy, Sondra and the entire Gables team were such a delight to work with from beginning to end. We are thrilled that we decided to hold our ceremony and celebrate with our family and friends in such an intimate, unique and beautiful space in the heart of LBI. Sandy's responsiveness and assistance during the planning process were outstanding and all of The Gables staff provided the same level of exceptional service on our wedding day. Choosing a venue with great food for ourselves and our guests was very important to us, and the ability to work with the chef and pastry chef to craft a menu that was exactly what we wanted was one of our favorite parts of the process. The guest experience- including the food, wine, and cocktails- was also a priority. Our wedding was on a Saturday in May and the weather was perfect. We used the garden for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dancing. While we brought in our own flowers, the garden was in full bloom and looked absolutely gorgeous. We used the four interior rooms to seat our guests for dinner. Each room had a unique vibe. When all was said and done, our guests raved and it was everything my husband and I could have dreamed of. Sondra (the owner) and Sandy (the manager) worked closely with us throughout the planning, giving advice and making helpful recommendations.
