A secret garden in the cool of the White Mountains
Nestled in the middle of the worlds largest Ponderosa Pine forest, the Greenhouse on Woodland is an unexpected delight for the senses. The beautiful, lush grounds of our hidden garden in the middle of our small working farm take center stage for your exclusive, intimate wedding. Our intimate nook in the forest is just that, and we suggest smaller groups of 50-70, although we will go up to 120 in some cases, but never over. The manicured grounds are at once rustic and elegant. At 7000 ft. hot days are rare and handmade steel fire pots take the chill out of our cool mountain evenings. Bistro lighting and thousands of tiny fairy lights wink down from the canopy of our garden trees, shimmering with the slightest breeze, creating an enchanted mood that will etch an indelible memory for you and your guests. While we are located in a pine forest, for the past 70 years, our property was a working plant nursery, and our large front lawn was the specimen garden that hosts myriad plantings that are very different from what you would expect in our area. Your event will look more like it is in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by all that the delightful mountains of North Eastern Arizona have to offer. We can help guide you through the entire process of producing your perfect destination wedding. We have a comprehensive list of planners, caterers, bartending services, DJ's, photographers, etc. to help make your day go as smoothly as possible. We offer you discrete mood lighting throughout the property, a professional level sound system with speakers in both the reception and ceremony areas, a wireless microphone, table and chairs for your guests. An outdoor play area with horse shoes, bean-bag toss and jumbo Jenga, a designated smoking area and fire pots with plenty of wood. We also offer you the use of our "She Shack", a quaint, stand alone tiny house, with kitchen and bath where the bride and her posse can comfortably make ready for the big moment. We are pleased to announce that we have opened our beautiful new permanent reception hall that features spacious windows and doors to take advantage of our reliable breezes and garden views, a built in bar, prep and cleaning area, dedicated restrooms, high speed WiFi and phone charging stations. It also feature a wrap around porch with seating. Our season will now be expanded from the beginning of May to the end of October annually. Every wedding here is very special, we are very low volume, hosting a limited number of events through our season to parties of fewer than 120 guests.

I cannot recommend The Greenhouse on Woodland strongly enough. My husband and I chose the venue for our wedding and it was perfection. John and Alison are a joy to work with. They take tremendous pride in their gorgeous property and it shows. From the lush gardens and koi pond to the charming barn and twinkling lights, it was an ideal setting to start our life together. Our guests were equally impressed and loved the indoor/outdoor setting in the pines. John and Alison were on top of every detail and kept in touch during the entire planning process. If you want a unique, beautiful wedding site and property owners who are wonderful people and pay great attention to detail, look no further. The Greenhouse on Woodland was a dream venue for so many reasons! From the very start, we loved that it was a family-owned and operated venue; John and Alison take such pride in their property and business and it shines the whole way through the planning process and the day-of. They are genuinely good people and made us feel welcomed and important. Another plus was the access to the grounds before and after the wedding; no stressing over X-amount time frame to be 'in and out'. John was there for every question/request/last minute snafu, etc. They make it feel personal and individualized, not like a corporate-owned business churning out wedding after wedding. Working with them put us at ease as we knew that they would go above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was beautiful. Last but certainly not least is the charm of the venue itself; you couldn't ask for a more perfect, intimate and gorgeous location. Every detail on the property is well thought out and executed and our guests could not stop commenting on how amazed they were. We are so happy we went with The Greenhouse on Woodland for our wedding. The whole experience, from start to finish, helped make our wedding what we envisioned and wanted. I can’t say enough about how wonderful The Greenhouse on Woodland and the owners John and Alison were in making our wedding day so incredibly special. The day was perfect. The Greenhouse checked every box we had hoped for in a dream wedding – beautiful and intimate outdoor setting, rustic and elegant, warm and inviting. We had 70 guests, and it was the perfect number to maintain the intimate and laid-back atmosphere of the venue. Over the course of planning our wedding, John was so accommodating and responsive to all of our questions, allowing us to visit the venue several times and giving great tips on what’s worked well with other weddings at the venue. His advice definitely contributed to how well our wedding went. John and Alison take such loving care of the garden and put so much thought into making The Greenhouse such a perfect place to host a wedding. The adorable little She Shack made getting ready for the wedding so convenient. The cozy firepots throughout the venue and the warm glow of fairy lights in the trees made the garden just as magical in the evening as it was during the day. The garden pond was the perfect backdrop for many of our wedding pictures, and putting our lock of love on the arbor will always be such a lovely reminder that we really did get married in this little piece of paradise!

John & Alison were amazing to work with. John gave wonderful advice on how to make my wedding a success. The grounds are absolutely stunning. You will have a fairytale wedding. The trees twinkle at night with the lights. You can make this an elegant venue or more rustic depending upon your preference. My vendors were enamored with this venue as was I. John made sure my vendors understood what was needed & advised on how best to set up. With all this being said it is a very do it yourself venue. I highly recommend a coordinator such as Evelyn with Enchanted Meadows Wedding to make your day a success. I cannot say enough great things about John & Alison. such a dreamy venue. You have the She shack to get ready in, a beautiful Koi pond or an arch to be married by/under, a commercial tent to have reception in & a bar/game area. My guests loved this venue & it was easy for my handicapped friends to access as well. John is very open to ideas & loves to let your creativity flow!!

I honestly can't say enough about the Greenhouse on Woodland. This venue was everything we dreamed of and more. The grounds are immaculate, the owners are amazing people and the ambiance is something out of a magazine. We had always planned to have our wedding in Phoenix and someone told us about this place and they had a cancellation and when we saw the venue, we knew it was meant to be. If you are looking for a venue that is unique and intimate, this is the place. John and Allison the owners were wonderful to work with and we hope to go back for family weddings. Our guest couldn't stop talking about how beautiful or wedding was and a large part was this venue.

It was the most amazing perfect day!!!!! If you are having your wedding here you have to get Tresa the wedding planner with classic events. She made my whole day! She had me covered from double sided tape to gum, and wine during pictures. She had made my vision come to life and we had the most beautiful wedding. This venue is gorgeous it is romantic and soft, all of my guest were in love with it just as much as I was!!

My wife and I got married here just shy of a year ago. I have gone over and over in my head on what I can say to give John and Alison, the owners of this gorgeous venue, a proper review. My wife and I toured many other venues, with the hopes of finding one where we would be treated for a few hours like any other couple and not have a tense atmosphere where we felt like we were a problem. The Greenhouse was one of the last venues on our list and we were crossing our fingers that this one would not be like the others. John welcomed us like old friends and showed us all around his beautiful property. From that day we knew we would get married there and we did. John and Alison never made us feel unwelcome, and bent over backwards to help us make the venue work for my wife's wheelchair. John and Alison became like friends to us, and were even there to celebrate our big day. They were very accommodating and even threw in some of their personal items to give that last little touch to our reception area. John and Alison are amazing individuals with a stunning, intimate venue. If you are looking for a place to get married, that has the best backdrops for stunning photos, is affordable, and is run by fun, supportive, and caring individuals, then the Greenhouse on Woodland is the place to get married. I would do it all over again in a heart beat. Seriously, I cannot put into words how incredible they are. I will truly cherish this place and these people forever.

I originally came across this venue last year while helping another vendor set up at The Greenhouse on Woodland. I was completely mesmerized by the lush landscape, immaculately manicured grounds, and perfectly placed setting. I reached out to John about using his beautiful venue for my maternity shoot and he was more than thrilled that I would think of him. John was accommodating, even providing an update on the weather report so we didn’t get rained out. We had to change from an evening shoot to a morning shoot in a matter of hours on the account of the weather. The grounds again did not disappoint. Everything was just as beautiful as I remembered. The pond was well maintained and the coy fish swimming in the background added the perfect touch. It truly felt magical. I highly recommend The Greenhouse on Woodland. Everything was perfect. From the setting, the accommodations, the easily accessible location, to the friendliness and professionalism of the owner.

I spoke with the owner John, and told him that I work with a day program for adults with disabilities and called to see if we could use the property to take some photos for a mothers day craft they were working on, and let me tell you he was so sweet and welcoming! he had no hesitation what so ever to say yes. once we got there, my clients were in \"aw\" of the beauty tucked in behind big beautiful trees, green grass, flowers all over and a cute little Coy pond! such a great experience and my clients were so thrilled to have had the opportunity to take their photos there. Thanks John, your so kind and humble!!!! HIGHLY recommend the greenhouse on woodland for any event!!

The wedding was beautiful. The garden venue is spectacular. Our hosts at The Greenhouse on Woodland created a relaxing, one of a kind wedding/reception. Flowers blooming everywhere, water lilies on the pond and twinkling lights in the pine trees. At sunset the garden reminds me of a Monet painting.

One of my best friends book this location for her wedding. If my heaven was a place on earth, it would be this place. Loved the Mountain/Country scenery. The grounds are beautifully done. Love the lighting at night. The many intimate fire-pit areas blew my mind. The owners are wonderful. My girlfriend was extremely happy with everything.

The list of reasons I fell in love with this place could go on forever. When I first saw it I knew this was it....this was the place I could make my dream wedding come to reality. The beauty of the garden, the trees, flowers, the paths that go throughout the garden, fire pits, even the lights twinkling in the trees makes for an amazingly stunning wedding. I fell in love with it from day one. The day of our wedding came and I was in awe of it all. Beyond what my dreams were for sure. Along with the beauty of it all it was set for a good time for all of our guest with the corn hole and horse shoes. Our guest had an absolutely amazing time. I can't put into words how perfect it all was. The owners are AMAZING!! Love them!! They really allowed me to make the wedding ours and what we had Invisioned. Ugh...it was all just so perfect that it's hard to put into words. I recommend Greenhouse on Woodland to everyone! You won't find another location for your special day more perfect. We got married here 10/7/2017 and just celebrated our first anniversary. We took a trip to pinetop to celebrate and just had to visit. Like I said the owners are like family and so welcoming. We enjoyed some memories and took a picture of our lock that is kept there. It will be a yearly thing for us I think.

I can't put into words how perfect it all was. The owners are AMAZING!! Love them!! They really allowed me to make the wedding ours and what we had Invisioned. Ugh...it was all just so perfect that it's hard to put into words. I recommend Greenhouse on Woodland to everyone! You won't find another location for your special day more perfect. We got married here 10/7/2017 and just celebrated our first anniversary. We took a trip to pinetop to celebrate and just had to visit. Like I said the owners are like family and so welcoming. Written by my husband, and 100% agreed to:THIS PLACE WAS PERFECT! The beauty of this venue is remarkable! (I'm going to try and do this without too many \"!\". Lol.) Very affordable destination wedding!!!First I have to say that John and Allison are wonderful people and while they do set strict guidelines to preserve their little gem they were thoughtful and considerate throughout the whole process. The venue supplied the tent and tables and chairs for -a little less than- 100 people. It is a more cozy/exclusive venue. (There was plenty of room for everyone because everyone was very close but 100 people is really maxing out what would be needed to keep the ambiance.) The gardens and pond are absolutely stunning. There is a little barn where there are a couple of chairs and a TV set up and a bathroom for guests. There is also a little cottage on the property called the \"She Shack\". This would be perfect for the bride and party to get ready. It has a small kitchenette and another small bathroom. There are also front and back decks. This came in handy for organizing the wedding procession. On top of that, this breathtaking venue is just plain planned and laid out very well. It has a separate vendor entrance as well as a smoking area that comes complete with horseshoe put and a couple sets of Cornhole. This really helps to keep the drunk smokers from wandering. It is also conveniently close to where we set up -and is the perfect place for- our bar. There's no hard alcohol allowed but let me assure you that it was really not a problem. We consider our families both big drinkers. We did end up taking a big group of people to a local bar afterwards. There is a local company that has busses that can be reserved to make sure everyone gets home safely afterwards too.The local catering companies all looked very professional and had great reviews. We went with \"my sister can't cook\" and everything was perfect. After all was said and done I felt like every single penny we spent, every check and double check with email and phone communicating with the owners was worth my time and hard earned money. My family and friends and most importantly my new wife and her friends and family were over the top pleased with the outcome. I would strongly recommend this venue to anyone. It is great for weddings, reception, both.I don't know if they offer for other functions but this place would also be great for family reunion, corporate retreat, destination quincenera or rededication ceremonies. It is only available a very select set of weekends a year so definitely call for tours and availability

The Greenhouse on Woodland was the perfect setting for my daughter's dream wedding. The beautiful gardens, koi pond and picturesque trees were the perfect backdrop for the ceremony and reception. We were able to customize the tent to match our color scheme perfectly. The guests enjoyed the beautiful ceremony and then a wonderful night under the twinkling trees and cozy fire pits. People played games in the game area, danced in the tent and took romantic walks in the garden. There was truly something for everyone to enjoy the special evening. John and Alison were amazing to work with. They were very accommodating for all of our special requests and offered many suggestions for local vendors.

John and Alison of The Greenhouse on Woodland are some of the most wonderful and compassionate people that my husband, our family members, and myself have ever had the pleasure of getting to know and working with through the entire wedding planning process! From the moment my then-fiance and I laid eyes on this dreamy, outdoor space we knew it was the perfect venue for us. The gardens contain so many magical, romantic little hideaways, as the sun filters through the trees during the day, or at night when the whole garden comes to life with glittering fairy lights sprinkled throughout. If you're looking for a magical wedding experience in Arizona, this is were to find it. My husband and I received nothing but praise from our guests about how beautiful and fun of a wedding it was, from the afternoon ceremony in the garden, the night time celebrations in the tent and around the fire pits, and we owe that largely to The Greenhouse! We are so grateful for how helpful John and Alison were, as they recommended local vendors to us out-of towners, and also were so welcoming when we visited on several occasions leading up to the big day to ask questions or roam around their dreamy gardens once more. It is so evident in everything they do that they truly care about their couples and making their experiences and perfect and personalized as possible. We are also appreciative of the ample time The Greenhouse allowed us for rehearsing, setting up, and cleaning up surrounding the wedding. Ultimately, I would recommend this venue to absolutely anyone looking for an elegant yet laid-back and intimate wedding experience. The Greenhouse allowed us to have our fairytale-come-true wedding experience and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

My husband and I got married June 23, 2018. This venue is absolutely fairytale like. Surrounded by nature with beautiful scenery! My total guest count was around 85 and everyone fit perfectly. Allison and John are absolutely wonderful! I was a little warm getting ready in the she-shack (mix of nerves and a heat wave) and they brought in a portable air conditioner unit for me! The tent was perfect, and there was enough space to put a 12x12 foot dance floor (probably could fit a larger one if you wanted to). I can’t do this venue justice when describing its beauty! So happy with my experience

My husband and I got married here on June 9th 2018. I cannot express how perfect this venue was for us. We are very laid back people and wanted to have a venue to reflect that about ourselves. I had my bridal shower here in August 2016. Everything about this property is perfection. You can definitely tell that the owners have pride in ownership and truly love their property. Being on this property made me feel very special and like I was in a fairytale. I have lived on this mountain my whole life and I can honestly say that this is the most beautiful property in town!

I had my bridal shower here in August 2016. Everything about this property is perfection. You can definitely tell that the owners have pride in ownership and truly love their property. Being on this property made me feel very special and like I was in a fairytale. I have lived on this mountain my whole life and I can honestly say that this is the most beautiful property in town!

I didn't get married at Greenhouse on Woodland, but if the need ever arises, I'll certainly know where to go!I spent a late-September weekend at the She Shack while in town to see friends and catch the car show. The Shack was cozy and charmingly rustic.And I can't say enough about the property. Towering trees of several varieties, a pond for koi and frogs, late-summer produce, herbs and flowers thriving everywhere. Picturesque does not do it justice.To top it off, John and Alison were gracious to a fault.

We chose September as the leaves are turning and Fall Magic is in the air in this beautiful mountain town. My favorite feature was the She Shack. Truly the perfect space to get ready with my girls and relax a bit. The back door can be used to begin the walk down the aisle. A space near the event tent had games and a media room for the kids to keep busy and there is plenty of parking for guests. John and Allison went out of their way to make our day special and were a delight to work with! If your considering a slice of heaven for your wedding venue then look no further. Our guests haven't stopped talking about this location and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

The Greenhouse on Woodland is an incredibly beautiful venue!! I have attended a wedding and also a bridal shower there and the venue was perfect. Lush green grass and beautiful pine trees make an amazing atmosphere! There is a building called the \"She Shack\" where brides have a serene, and quiet place to get ready for their big day. John and Alison are awesome so that's a plus!

Meet the The Greenhouse on Woodland Team
John and Alison (Owner) John Samora and Alison Stewart met and fell in love in midlife. They bought the historic Pico's Nursery property in the spring of 2016 to start a small farm and event venue. They were their own first clients, getting married on the property and hosting a small reception for family, welcoming them to their new fairytale property.They live, love and work here, growing fruit and vegetables on their property in addition to hosting memorable events. Both are relaxed, respectful and are adept at creating a warm, convivial atmosphere for your event, and look forward to being your hosts.
