This was the only venue I saw and was immediately certain I had found the perfect place for my wedding. Deb quickly became a friend— she’s professional, provides planning guidance, and ensures your day goes perfectly. There is a hotel right across the street (the renaissance hotel Glenview ) that is so nice! It’s perfect for out of town guests. They even provide free shuttle service to the grove if you have a certain number of guests book there! They also handed out welcome bags that I created for my guests. I also held a welcome reception the day before my wedding. The Grove is absolutely beautiful. I love that the pavilion is covered and is a sturdy structure. I also love that we had access to the house. We had a plan b in case it rained, and I felt confident that my vendors could pivot if weather became an issue. Luckily the weather was perfect! It got chilly at night, but we ended up using the venue fireplace and heaters. It was so beautiful — the fireplace added another unique element to the reception. We chose vendors that were recommended by the grove and they were all incredible. The food was amazing and the catering team was A++++.I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue. The natural beauty of the grove gave us so many options for photos. We didn’t need much decor because of how gorgeous the venue is. We almost weren't able to get a date in our time range, and we booked almost a year and half ahead.Deborah and Sandra made the whole booking and planning process go very smoothly, and they graciously answered my many questions. On the wedding day, the venue staff helped everything run smoothly, even when a last minute thunderstorm chased us into Redfield House just minutes before our outdoor ceremony was supposed to start. We're so glad we were able to get married at Redfield Estate. As soon as we took a tour of the grounds at Redfield Estate, we knew it was the right place for our small, intimate wedding. You have to visit this place. It has all the beauty and charm while being affordable and conveniently located for those who live in the Chicagoland area, so basically the perfect wedding venue! And it absolutely works for small or large weddings. Nearly every time we mentioned Redfield Estate to someone when they asked about our wedding planning, they or someone they knew had attended an event there, and they would rave about how wonderful it is. Our photographer fell in love the moment she arrived. There are so many great photo opportunities. The beautiful craftsman home has the sweetest vintage-feeling rooms -- we loved all the pieces of history -- and the surrounding landscape is lovely. We chose to get married under the giant old oak tree on the front lawn and then gathered with family in the airy pavilion. It was perfect weather for a June day, but I honestly imagine Redfield Estate being a gorgeous, charming experience in any weather or season. The staff members are all so kind and incredibly helpful. Deborah, Lizzie, and Paul made us feel so welcome, supported, and taken care of on our wedding day and in the planning stages. Ryan and Rebecca Bergstrom(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2022 We had an exceptional experience planning our wedding reception at The Grove’s Redfield Estate. The Grove is maintained, operated, and publicly owned by the Glenview Park District. For this reason, venue rental rates at Redfield Estate are an unbelievable bargain. Redfield Estate can be booked to host celebrations in the morning, afternoon, or evening for quite literally a fraction of the cost of a ballroom or golf course reception venue.Despite the unbeatable price point, Redfield Estate is anything but “cheap” when it comes to quality and aesthetics. Whether you envision the luxury of a high-society wedding reception or simply want to host a semi-casual family reunion; this venue possesses the versatility to make your dream a reality. Our booking afforded us access to an absolutely enormous space that included: an architecturally stunning historic home, a multipurpose outdoor pavilion, a carriage house full of hosting amenities (e.g. tables, chairs, industrial refrigeration), and a beautiful lawn gazebo which is popular for outdoor wedding ceremonies. The natural beauty, expansiveness, and practical accommodations available make Redfield Estate a true \"one-of-a-kind\" option for an experience you will never forget. Lastly, the property is exceptionally well managed and has built up a reservoir of trusted artisan vendors. Redfield Estate actively manages a concise list of preferred partners that make it a breeze to find the best local: caterers, DJs, florists, photographers, and more. The property manager who assisted us with our wedding reception (Deborah Rabeor) seemed to have a close working relationship with each organization on Redfield Estates’ list of preferred vendors. These preexisting professional relationships greatly simplified coordination efforts on our end and made for streamlined collaboration on the day of our event. Reviewed on 25-09-2022
Paul Nelson(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-09-2022 We highly recommend Redfield Estate at the Grove (in Glenview IL) as a wedding and reception venue, for several reasons. (1) The site is beautiful. The stately house, pavilion, gazebo, and surrounding grounds invite leisurely walks, conversation, and celebration. (2) The staff, starting with manager Deborah Rabeor, but extending to every employee we met, is very responsive and helpful. On Sunday September 11, for instance, when our daughter was married at Redfield, the Chicago area was hit with an all-day, record-setting downpour. Deborah “just put on my jeans,” as she told us, and came to the venue on her day off, to make sure everything was proceeding as normally as possible. (3) The price is right. The “bang for your buck” travels a long way at Redfield, compared with other venues. We felt our money was well-spent. (4) The list of Redfield’s recommended vendors – in particular, floristry and catering – met and even exceeded our expectations. We used Bella Rue (catering), Toast & Jam (DJ), Oak Mill Bakery (cake), and Hlavacek (florist). In sum, we are certain you will be pleased with Redfield Estate and its talented, hardworking staff. They were very open and honest about updating us on covid regulations and restrictions, and while luckily we didn’t need to, they stated in our contract that we would be able to reschedule if needed. This gave us a peace of mind while planning under such uncertain circumstances. On our wedding day they went above and beyond to make sure everything was running smoothly and we had everything we needed. On top of just an overall pleasant experience working with them, the space is absolutely gorgeous. We also really liked being able to have our ceremony and reception at one site while being able to use two different areas. This helped with set up as well as gave our guests two different, beautiful settings without having to travel. The only thing I would warn people looking for a venue about, is that their space is available to book on all days of the week, so planning a rehearsal for the day prior was a little tricky. Luckily, The Redfield Estate has so many options for outdoor, indoor or a combination of the two for your wedding. We had our ceremony in the pavilion with a roaring fire lit behind us (so romantic!) and our reception was in the gorgeous estate. We worked mostly with Deborah and she was amazing! She was always quick to respond to my questions, very flexible and accommodating. Our day was simply magical and far surpassed anything we could've hoped for. We got married at the gazebo and had our reception in the pavilion, we had about 110 guests on a Friday night. The grove offers so many beautiful spots to sneak away for portraits, our guests absolutely loved the caterer and DJ (from the Grove's preferred vendor list - which is a little small, but high quality selections, we found). There are no words to describe how beautiful the evening became once the tree line was lit up by the DJ lights, and the lighting Redfield Estate provides was turned on -- I wish it could've been captured in a photograph. We had the night of our lives and the wedding of our dreams, and we wouldn't change a thing. Leslie Gauntt(bridesmaid)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-06-2018 My now husband and I got married at The Grove-Redfield Estate the first weekend in June. We had guests from all over the US who said multiple times it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been to. We live in the city and we’re initially a tad hesitant about getting married at a venue in the burbs and that is primarily outside for our size wedding (110). But the Grove and the staff day of and leading up to the event were simply amazing and a joy to work with. The space is so versatile and you can do so many things to make your day fit what you want. Both Carol and Deborah were incredibly helpful leading up to our wedding and the day of groundskeepers were charming and super helpful. We had our ceremony in front of the outdoor pavilion, cocktails and yard games by the house &oak tree and reception inside the pavilion. The weather was pretty cool for early June so we did end up asking for heaters and the fireplace to be lit. The day of guys did it seemlessly and our guests greatly appreciated it. You can decide those things day of. The space was absolutely gorgeous and the grounds are truly picturesque for a wedding. My one piece of advice is If we had anymore guests, I am not sure it would have been as comfortable. The tables they offer are great but only seat 6-7 people. For us we had to squeeze 8 at a few to make our tables work which wasn’t a huge deal but is something to keep in mind if you utilize the outdoor pavilion for your reception. The house is also beautiful and can be used for your buffet, bar, desserts, or back up space in case it rains but again, it would be tight if you have a wedding our size or slightly bigger. We honestly loved our wedding day and felt like The Grove was a big reason why it went as well as it did. I highly recommend this to any couple who wants an outdoor wedding for 100 or less guests. The house itself was very clean and orderly. We had no problems with setup for the ceremony and everything went as smooth as possible considering it was a very rainy day. All of the staff on grounds that day were extremely helpful and courtious. If there is one item that could have been improved it would be the coordinating staff prior to the actual wedding day. There was not a specific instance and no harsh words were exchanged but it seemed like everytime the bride and I had a request the coordinating staff responded in a very black and white straight foward answer which was not very welcoming. When we did book the venue which was for a Saturday we were not informed that the Friday night before the wedding was already booked, so our rehersal walkthrough had to be performed on the wednesday the week before. This was something that made logistics and coordination more difficult and would have been nice to know when we booked the venue. All in all the venue was great and the groundscrew and help the day of the wedding were all amazing but I would suggest having a wedding planner or a list of pre thought out requirements prior to booking the event to ensure all questions are answered appropriately. Had it rained, we could have moved either the ceremony or reception indoors to the estate house, but the pavilion was also well covered and could have protected guests from potential rain as well. Throughout the night I received so many compliments from guests about how beautiful the venue was and such a rare find in the Chicagoland suburbs. The Grove staff was great, making sure we had access to everything we needed and even offering suggestions about using the fireplace vs. warming lamps, as the day of our wedding was fairly cool for August. When we first met with the Grove staff, they provided a list of catering vendors. While the list of pre-approved vendors is fairly short, we were able to find one that met our needs perfectly. (You can also use outside caterers, but for an additional fee.) It was also great that the Grove supplies all of the tables and chairs for both the ceremony and reception, so you don't have to also have to find a company to rent furniture from. Tony Weyers(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2017 The Redfield Estate is a gorgeous setting to have a smaller-sized wedding (<125 guests) ceremony and reception. The buildings and grounds are the perfect close-to-nature backdrop: well-manicured lawns, great foliage, beautiful fountains and statuary, as well as many seasonal flower containers. At night, the property around the main house and pavilion comes alive with lanterns and string lights that extend the party beyond the pavilion alone. Carol and Shelley (The Rental Coordinators) are wonderful to work with, and they direct you deftly through your contract and their extensive list of preferred vendors, providing open-house type tastings throughout the year.A few tips: 1) For summer weddings, pay close attention to the mosquito season. Our July wedding unfortunately had some very hungry mosquitoes that forced us to move our ceremony from the gazebo area to the pavilion. It was still a gorgeous setting, but the change did cause a little anxiety.2) With any outdoor wedding - ALWAYS have a rain plan in place. In the case of The Redfield Estate, you will coordinate this with your catering vendor ahead of time. 3) Understand how the size of your wedding may affect indoor plans. If your reception is inside The Redfield Estate (as opposed to in the outdoor pavilion), you may have to break up your dinner guests into two floors if the numbers exceed 60 guests. The staff were great to work with. We arrived to the grounds the morning of the wedding and everything was in order- tables set up per plan, staff on hand to assist. Highly recommend only using the vendors on their preferred list because they know exactly how everything works. We could not have asked for a better day. Thank you for making my daughter's wedding a spectacular success. Reviewed on 15-06-2017

We got married in the Pavilion in front of the fireplace which was absolutely gorgeous. Reviewed on 07-12-2016
Stephanie B(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2016 I just had my October wedding there and it was absolutely fabulous! I used the gazebo for my ceremony, and the pavilion for the reception. It was executed flawlessly, and I picked Hel's Kitchen from their preferred caterer list. We chose to have a daytime wedding (11am) as the other option was after 7pm and it would have been dark and pretty late to have dinner afterwards since we wanted everything in one place. Their staff is very professional and accommodating. We added some pumpkins as the decorations are pretty minimal as the nature setting is so stunning by itself. The one issue I had was not being told before I booked this venue that the indoor seating is 105 at the most. I thought it was 125, since thats what the outdoor seating capacity is, but knowing Chicago weather, I didn't want to take any chances. You will also need quite a few signs if you decide to get married in the gazebo so people do not get lost as it is a bit hidden. Overall, this is an amazing venue, and they know what they are doing. I loved it! Reviewed on 31-10-2016
Spencer Carver(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2016 When my bride (then bride-to-be) and I began looking for venues, we looked into at least a dozen places closer to home before making the trip out to The Redfield Estate (which was about a 45 minute trip for us and our families). However, from the moment we stepped on the grounds we knew this was the right place. The property is simply breathtaking, and there are a lot of beautiful spaces that can be used for many things in a wedding, outdoors and indoors. Our wedding was an evening wedding, and unfortunately the rain also wanted to attend. The staff at The Grove was beyond helpful in keeping us up-to-date on the weather, providing a gorgeous white umbrella for the bride when we did have to move outdoors during the rain, and helping to mop up any water that was tracked inside before slipping became a concern. There were also some powerful outdoor fans provided to keep our covered pavilion cool, when everyone was dining and dancing outdoors. I think I need to find another excuse to plan an event here, because it was beyond beautiful, and I can't wait to return (hopefully without rain clouds this time). Stephen Thompson(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-12-2017 The Grove was an exceptional place to hold a wedding for my daughter and I'm deeply appreciative of the venue for the support it provided when we changed from an outside service to an inside service at the last minute because of rain. The pavilion for dinner was a wonderful venue and a good time was had by all. Thank you for hosting a memorable occasion. Reviewed on 11-10-2016

a member (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-12-2017 I recently had my fairytale wedding at the Grove Redfield Estate on August 13, 2016 and it was amazing. From the staff to the grounds and the service was impeccable. Carol and Shelley were great to work with from the beginning all the way to the end. I would recommend this beautiful place to other brides who want to stray away from the boring old banquet halls with no windows lol. I also wanted to have it outdoors and the Grove made it possible with it's beautiful well manicured grounds. Pssst! there is a hidden gazebo towards the back of the house. My guests were so impressed. \"Best wedding Ever\" may I quote. I especially loved the scenery at night, it looked magical. A big thanks to Catered by Design for great food and presentation, An event less ordinary for arranging my day of.. and last but not least my photographer Jay from TSL who was a pleasure to work with.
