The Heights was absolutely perfect for my wedding! Beautiful grounds and super inclusive packages! I had cake, some of the flowers, uplighting, lit backdrop for the sweetheart table and more included in mine. Kristen, the venue coordinator, and her assistant Sam were amazing and so helpful. Our wedding at this venue was an absolutely dreamy experience, and I can't say enough positive things about it. Kristen, the coordinator, played a pivotal role in making our special day truly magical. Her kindness and prompt responses to our numerous questions put us at ease throughout the planning process. Given the intimate nature of our wedding, we wanted to visit the venue several times, and Kristen was always there to graciously guide us on tours and address any concerns we had. Her dedication and support were invaluable in ensuring that everything ran smoothly.The venue itself was a picture of sheer beauty, and the staff's warmth and attentiveness added an extra layer of charm. The food served was simply delicious, a delightful surprise that added to the overall enjoyment of our celebration. What truly stood out for us was the wedding package offered by the venue. It encompassed everything from decor to florals and even the cake, which not only simplified the planning process but also helped us save both time and money. On the day of the wedding, Sam's exceptional assistance was the icing on the cake. Despite initial concerns about the weather, Sam ensured that our outdoor ceremony went off without a hitch. With a backdrop of stunning purple-pink skies, our day was nothing short of perfection, and we owe a huge thanks to this venue and its dedicated team for making it all possible. My husband and I had our wedding at the Heights Golf Club March, 2023. The venue was recommended to us by our wedding coordinators. We toured the venue with the Heights venue coordinator, Kristen. She was so helpful in answering all of our questions. We knew right away this was the venue for us. In comparison to other venues we had looked at , the Heights was affordable , it was beautiful, and encompassed everything we were looking for in a wedding venue. They even allowed us to bring our 2 dogs on site to be a part of our ceremony which was really important to us. From start to finish, Kristen was very easy to work, was very responsive in answering all our questions, and helped to bring our wedding day vision to life! The day of our wedding , we couldn't have asked for anything more from a wedding venue than what we got. The day was perfect, everyone loved the venue , and it was truly a pleasure to work with Kristen and the rest of our venue team. If we had to do it all over again, we would book with Kristen and the Heights 100x over. We would highly recommend them to any couple getting married in San Diego County. Reviewed on 22-05-2023

My husband and I chose this place because we got a lot of bang for our buck compared to the other vendors we looked at in the area.Danielle was so sweet and responded to every last little question I could have ever asked with so much professionalism and patience. She accommodated us with a few rental items (free of charge) and altered our package price since we opted out of a few options. She did a fabulous job coordinating with outside vendors to make sure that our day went smoothly. She handled special requests with our bar package, food items, outside vendor requests, and more. The food was amazing for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding. Fernando knows what he's doing in the kitchen! We did the ruby buffet package with steak and salmon and got so much positive feedback from our guests.The only reason why we are giving four-stars is due to a few reasons: 1) The coordination was not given a priority during the day of our rehearsal. Our rehearsal was supposed to start at 5 pm the night before our wedding and we could not find Danielle. My MOH had to go hunt her down and she was in a meeting with other clients. Not a huge deal, but it was unnecessary stress that could have been avoided. 2) Additionally, we asked that the flowers from the arch be moved to the sweetheart table during the wedding reception. Our photographer ended up doing this task instead because Danielle put the step-stool out, but did not follow-through. Again, not a huge deal, but I felt bad for my photographer.Obviously, those are small issues compared to the grand scheme. I do not want to focus on the negatives because ultimately, we had a lovely wedding and we really do appreciate all of the help that we got from BHCC in pulling it off. Definitely would recommend! The staff are professional, the chef knows what he's doing, and Danielle is a pro. Reviewed on 31-05-2019

We decided that the Diamond package was the best bang for our buck with a possibility of 130 guests as it included a nice cocktail hour, the most food options, the cake, and premium linens. Our experience with the club had its highs and lows. The best way to describe our experience is with a pros and cons list:Pros--As the bride, the day of our wedding was just beautiful. All landscaping looks amazing in our photos! -Everyone enjoyed the food! From the appetizers at the cocktail hour to the main dish. We offered steak, salmon, or risotto for the main dish. The food was served hot and as far as I knew everyone got what they had asked for. My gluten free guests even loved their salmon. One said she could have drank the sauce that came on the side! (Thank you Chef Fernando!)-Our signature cocktails were delicious (and potent)!-we were permitted to be in the locker room from 9AM until our event was over which was a huge plus! All hair and makeup was done at the venue. -waitstaff was very pleasant!Cons (without going into too much detail)--In the process of our 10+ month journey with BHCC we quickly learned to document everything and keep record of all conversations. We were told that the dumpster area would be covered and even offered to buy something to cover it ourselves on multiple occasions. Thank fully we did because what was provided was shorter than me and went about half way across the dumpster area. -the bar ran out of beer by the last hour of the evening-Accounting: we were lucky enough that my parents paid for the down payment. In order for us to pay the rest we asked to make monthly payments. Therefore there were a few cards on file however, we specified in each email to our coordinator which card to charge and the amount. There were at least 5 major accounting errors to which the reply was, “well we don’t usually do monthly payments” or “sorry, the accounting system is old”. The biggest mistake made was that we were due a LARGE credit once all was completed and we did not receive the credit until 3 weeks later and several emails. So unnecessary. -wedding coordination: A wedding coordinator was included when choosing the venue. Unfortunately, we were left feeling that this is not the correct position for BHCCs current event coordinator. Though mostly polite, she was passive aggressive with any criticism, sometimes condescending in detailed discussions with my husband and mother, and did not seem to handle pressure well. Unfortunately, I cannot fully recommend BHCC for your event! My recommendation to them is to hold on tight to their Chef, landscaper, and waitstaff. I also recommend that if there is even a shadow of a doubt that something can be done for an event they should be more straightforward and say, no, instead of making promises they can’t keep. We had a wonderful day, and could definitely feel that the whole staff cared about making it special for us- planning was fun and easy and everyone treated us like royalty on the day of. Kristen Dawson (Events Director)
Kristen’s experience includes close to 20 years in the hospitality and food and beverage industry with roles such as Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Events & Tournaments, Catering Director, etc. She has spent over 13 years in the exclusive private golf and country club industry at multiple clubs throughout San Diego. As well, Kristen has lead event services and sales at The Westgate hotel and brings a breadth of Four Diamond knowledge with her to The Heights to help serve our Members. She is born and raised in San Diego and studied Business Management at Cal State San Marcos.
