There are not enough positive words to describe what we experienced with THF on our wedding day. It was the most magical night of our life, and THF made it all come into being. The food, the staff, the location… it was all perfect and they completely went above and beyond expectations. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking to have a history-making wedding that will be remembered by all your guests as the best one they ever went to. Reviewed on 11-01-2024

I loved working with The Henry Ford Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan for my wedding. My parents were married at the Martha Mary Chapel and had their reception on the grounds as well. I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps, so my husband and I started working with the staff at THF soon after our engagement. Every person we worked with was very professional, kind, and supportive through all parts of the process. Our event manager, Somer, was such a blessing to work with and made everything so easy and stress free! The staff that were at the chapel on the day of the wedding guided us smoothly through the events of the ceremony. The food at Eagle’s Tavern was something to rave about! So many guests shared how great the dinner was; especially the potatoes. My husband and I were assigned our very own server who never let our glasses go empty. It was the best day of our lives, and we are so thankful for the care that was given to us by The Henry Ford! Reviewed on 04-12-2023

We can't say enough good things about The Henry Ford. If you're even remotely considering having your wedding here, DO IT!We had our wedding in Lovett Hall, and it was beyond perfect. From the very first interaction with the planning team over a year ago, we felt so well taken care of. We were lucky enough to work with Samantha to make our wedding vision come to life, and she was spectacular. She was prompt with responses, helpful with suggestions, and flexible with meeting our requests. The service team on the day of was no less helpful. Our ceremony coordinators, Donna and Jessica were helpful and kept everything on track with a smile on their faces. Alex, our banquet manager was efficient and friendly and ensured perfect service all night long. The venue is absolutely stunning and the grounds were immaculate for our wedding day. It took our breath away to walk into the ballroom for a \"first look\" and see everything come together, including our upgraded plateware and glassware. The food is what really put our wedding over the top. We were excited after our tasting, but we wondered if they'd really be able to pull off a filet and chicken for 170 people. Boy, did they. We got rave reviews from many guests that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. From the incredible passed apps and display station to entrees, the dessert bar, and of course, the late-night Coney dogs and tater tots, everything was spectacular! We'll never be able to fully capture how special we were made to feel by the entire team at The Henry Ford and how grateful we'll forever be that they made our wedding day so perfect! Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford is the perfect venue if you want tradition, elegance and a stunning site that is imbued with the subtle sense of history wrapping around you as you enter each room. Donna and her staff were over the top supportive, with an entire crew ensuring that prewedding set up was completely thorough (site visit, tasting of food and deserts, rehearsal complete with several staff on hand to ensure it went smoothly). The wedding itself--the food, the staff, the drinks and the ambience, made for a perfect evening. The ceremony in the garden, surrounded by flowers, was lovely. Then--you share drinks in the large first floor lobby, you step up the lush staircase to enjoy dinner, dance on the floor, chat on the balcony, linger with guests near the stunning staircase.... So many told us it was simply the best wedding they had ever attended. Photogenic without needing much additional in decor, and with staff checking every step of the way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, (including a few last minute changes) made it an easy fun night for this bride. As an older couple we wanted elegance and a bit of history, and it was perfect. Reviewed on 15-09-2023

Amanda Polinski(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-06-2022 Throughout the entire process, Aileen was incredibly responsive and helpful with guiding us on our wedding planning journey. The only thing I am disappointed about was not having any staff to direct our guests where to go (ceremony at the Martha Mary Chapel, cocktail hour at the carousel, reception at Eagle Tavern), despite being told there would be guest service staff to direct the guests. There were also supposed to be wheelchairs available for the older family members due to the walking distance between the three locations. Because we were taking pictures following the ceremony, I didn't realize there was no staff present to guide guests, and no wheelchairs at the chapel until a few weeks after the wedding when our family was discussing their experience. Despite this incident, we give five stars for the quality of the food, service, accommodations, and overall venue. Some of our favorites from this experience: -the chef introduced himself and gave us a personalized dessert with our wedding date outlined in chocolate syrup -allowed us early entry into the village to take pictures -event planner came to check in on us on the wedding day, even though she wasn't working that day -the grounds at the village were well kept with beautiful flowers -wait staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating-maintained the integrity of the historic venue with candle light, historic dishes, and time period-appropriate clothing -cocktail hour on the carousel-everyone absolutely loved it Reviewed on 28-12-2022

Rebecca Farquhar(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2021 A fairy tale wedding come true! Lovett Hall at The Henry Ford was everything I dreamed of as a little girl growing up! More importantly, the staff, specifically our event manager Samantha S. made it the best planning and wedding experience! We were originally supposed to have our wedding August 29, 2020 however due to COVID we had to postpone until August 28, 2021. This was not an easy decision for us but Samantha was in constant contact and whenever I wanted to chat about how I was feeling she made herself available to chat and calmed my anxiety and nerves down. Whenever in communication with Samantha you could feel her excitement for us in her voice! Even in her emails you could tell just how happy and excited she was to be part of our wedding planning! She kept me amped up with her positivity. This is the type of person you want to be working with when planning your wedding! Samantha was professional, had an eye for excellence when planning out the details, and was invested in our wedding. She went above and beyond her job and was a dream come true for what we could have ever expected for a wedding manager. From the beginning of the planning process we were asked what our vision was. We were then presented with options for dinnerware, table linen, and their chiavari chairs … LOVE :) I can’t emphasize enough how important it was to have The Henry Ford take care of the tables, linen, dinnerware, catering, and details that elsewhere one would have to do on their own or have multiple vendors to deal with. Samantha helped bring our vision of an elegant rose gold wedding to come true! All the decor was perfect! Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the wedding ceremony and reception hall was and about how AMAZING the food was! Guests are still talking to us about how we had the best hors d'oeuvre they have ever had! Samantha and the wait staff were attentive and were all a delight the day of the wedding. They made everyone feel so special the day of our wedding. Lastly, the photo opportunities were endless and stunning! From inside the museum, outside Lovett Hall, and Greenfield Village. Samantha Audia(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-11-2021 I see that literally everyone has left five star reviews for The Henry Ford (THF) so I will just add to the hype and share that the THF team delivered for us on our wedding day in multitudes, and that if we had the opportunity to do it all over again, I'd choose THF a million times. The service that we received, especially in the midst of the pandemic uncertainty, made us feel so much better about the planning process. We worked with Samantha, who is a literal angel and probably (just hazarding a guess) deserves a raise. Something that's wonderful about THF is that they manage many of the variables that in other venues, you may have to do yourself. Think things like bartending, catering, rentals, etc. The wait staff and bartenders were so pleasant to be around on our wedding night, and were resources for my husband and I throughout the evening. They even helped us hide from some family members. Second, the food at THF is incredible. We knew that going into it and we were not disappointed either at the tasting or on the day-of. The chef does a great job - insider tip, go with the short rib. They were a fan favorite. I also loved the dining packages, which were flexible enough that we could make the food what we wanted, but structured enough that the decision-making wasn't overly complicated. Third, THF worked so seamlessly with my wedding planner, florist, entertainment company, etc. and helped us transform the space into something totally gorgeous. It was breathtaking! It was museum meets ballroom vibes and I loved it. If you're like me, and you're from Michigan, and you grew up going to this museum and you're tossing around the idea of what it would be like to get married there - do it. You won't regret it! I know it seems like 5 star reviews are a dime a dozen for this place, and that's well-deserved! Reviewed on 20-12-2021
Rachel Kolling(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-08-2021 If you're looking for excellence, look no further. The venue speaks for itself, it's absolutely incredible. The service however, truly is in a league of its own. Through out the planning process we worked with Samantha Saylor, who was prompt, personable, and an incredible resource. We were about 8 weeks away from our May 16th 2020 wedding, when Covid-19 brought everything to a screeching halt. Sam worked with us through what eventually became two postponements and made what could have been an extremely stressful process, fairly easy considering the circumstances. We were so grateful knowing that we had such an incredible team in our corner through a very stressful and uncertain time. We were finally able to have our wedding on August 6th, 2021 and the day was perfect. All of the Henry Ford staff that we interacted with that day was so friendly and kind to us and our guests. Every detail that Sam and I discussed was taken care of, nothing was left out or forgotten. They even went above and beyond to provide a few surprises throughout the day, including a plate of our passed hors d'oeuvres that was waiting at the head table for my husband and I to enjoy once we were finally seated. We took advantage of renting two Model T's to take us into Greenfield Village for pictures and it was one of our favorite parts of the day. The drivers were friendly, accommodating, and shared fun facts about the village during our ride. I highly recommend doing this if weather and your budget allow. It will make for amazing pictures and memories. The reception was stunning. Lovett Hall is a beautiful space and our guests were in awe of it. Dinner service went off without a hitch and was the fastest of any wedding i've been to (and we had 150ish guests). Guests are still telling us how delicious all of the food was. We gave our guests a heads up that the bar would be id-ing and had no issues with this. The bar staff even made a point to check members of the bridal party's id's prior to the start of the reception, so that once the reception began they wouldn't have to have their id on them. We had some personal items that were used as decor (picture frames, signs, etc) that the staff put away and had waiting for us on a cart at the end of the night. Selecting Lovett Hall was the best decision that my husband and I made for our wedding. We are so grateful to the staff at The Henry Ford for making our day beautiful from start to finish. Sarah S(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-11-2019 We booked Lovett Hall because it's absolutely beautiful and we wanted a venue that was more 'turn-key' (i.e. we didn't have to find our own table and chairs and linens, they do all the catering, etc.). What we didn't know when we booked it was that it comes with excellent service, both throughout the wedding process and the day-of. Donna was our coordinator and made us feel like we were the only wedding she had to plan. She was fun to work with and very professional. Pat was our banquet manager and was so kind throughout the wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly (as far as I know everything ran on time and no one had any issues at dinner!). We had a bridesmaid with some severe allergies and they were super accommodating and she felt at ease the whole evening. Our guests have been raving about the wedding and Lovett Hall ever since. The reason I'm knocking them down one star is because there are some restrictions to be aware of like where you can take photographs, how you can get around Greenfield Village, and what you can/can't bring into the venue. Some of these are because it is a historic venue, but others just give them more control. Additionally, there are fees for pretty much every little upgrade, even for small things like water bottles for the wedding party. Again our wedding was so beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing, but I think these things are important to note. Reviewed on 12-12-2019
Samantha Earhart(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-09-2019 The staff is amazing. We had our reception in Lovett Hall and took our photos in Greenfield Village (definitely get the historic transportation if you opt for this photo spot.) When choosing between the museum space and Lovett Hall there are pro's and con's to both (even though they are the most incredible event venues in the area) if you have your reception in the museum guests will wander around instead of dancing etc, and in Lovett hall if it rains you cannot take pictures inside the museum if there is another event going on. Overall, the staff is incredible and treated us like a king and queen throughout the whole process. A lot was included at The Henry Ford that was an additional cost elsewhere (beautiful ceremony and reception chairs (chiavari), a champagne toast for all guests, cake cutting), which made our decision for us. Tina Ozbeki(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2018 We had our ceremony and reception at Lovett Hall on 10/6/18. First, what we loved: - obviously Lovett Hall is a gorgeous setting for a wedding- our event manager Jaime was accommodating, professional, and courteous- ability to have ceremony/reception within steps of each other- food was delicious- fun Model T ride through Greenfield Village for photosWhat we hated and why we would not recommend The Henry Ford to others: - our ceremony representative seemed judgmental of our non-traditional ceremony (\"That's weird\")- we had planned our first look in the museum, with the approval of our event manager, and when we were taking photos for our first look, we were made to leave by museum staff because apparently we did not have proper approval (I spoke to our event manager later that day and she stated it was a miscommunication... but it still disrupted our photos)- when returning from our Model T ride, there was no one at the gate to open it for us at the allotted time, which meant we had to sit around for 10 minutes while our driver tried to contact someone. This disrupted an obviously already tight pre-ceremony photo schedule- and lastly, the worst -- rude bar staff and banquet manager (which I saw mentioned in another review here as well). They were strict about carding, which I understand, but they were accusatory and rude to many. Especially Scott, the banquet manager, would follow people onto the dance floor to ask for IDs and take drinks away if they didn't have them (even if they had already been served by a bartender) and made rude comments to a few of our guests. Many people left with a sour taste in their mouth. Finally, they closed the bar 30 minutes sooner than what we had paid for without explanation. After the fact, our event manager apologized & refunded us the money for that time, but I would rather have had a positive experience than any amount of money. Would not recommend. We have been getting so many compliments! We worked closely with Samantha for planning and she was so sweet, had great ideas and was very detail oriented and responsive. Pat was our banquet coordinator and she and her staff were excellent! We spent the afternoon before our wedding taking pictures around Lovett, Greenfield Village (rented a model T!) and the museum and were happy to have so many fun photo opportunities. A few tips I learned along the way:-if your ceremony starts at 6 (which most of them do), you will pretty much need to do all photos/first look ahead of time-you can do Lovett pretty reasonably, just keep your eye on the food and drink bill. There are so many yummy menu options. We went with two of the cheaper items (hazelnut encrusted chicken and lemon butter salmon) and the house bar package and the ice cream sundae bar and it helped to keep our costs down while still getting rave reviews. You could easily get up to around $150+/guest (including service fees, etc.) if you wanted more bar time, fancier drink package, filet mignon, etc. Spend some time exploring their online resources for wedding packages, menus, etc. We found it to be cheaper to split everything up rather than choose a package. -don't forget to budget in the service fees and taxes. It may seem high at first, but it is worth every penny for the quality of work and service you get here.-one plus is that you can rent specialty linens, chairs, etc. from The Henry Ford. I highly recommend that since it is so simple to coordinate multiple services with one vendor and planner. -I also had all of my table decorations (guest book, cupcake, placecards, etc.) boxed up with diagrams and the staff will set them up if you deliver them in advance. This is a great perk since you shouldn't need to pay for an additional decorator (honestly- the room speaks for itself so you dont have to add too much!). We would absolutely recommend this venue for anyone looking to have an elegant wedding with delicious food and top notch service. You will not be disappointed! Reviewed on 11-06-2017

The reception space is expansive and gorgeous (large dance floor area, but it's not too loud for the rest of the people sitting at tables/mingling), the museum is completely available to guests for wandering during the event (there are even staff members present to answer questions!) which was perfect for guests who don't really like to dance. The food was excellent (we didn't even have a cake, just went with one of their plated dessert options, which people told us they were happy about...not everyone likes cake!) and the service was really prompt (no long waits for each course) and friendly. We were going to have our ceremony in the courtyard but it was cold and raining so we ended up having it in the theater, which turned out ok. Samantha was our coordinator, and made everything very easy for us, as we were planning the wedding from out of town. The museum really goes the distance in terms of putting it all together. We were assigned someone who ran our ceremony rehearsal (she was like a heteronormative drill sergeant but it was probably for the best), there was a lighting specialist/stage manager for the ceremony inside, a banquet manager during the reception, numerous security guards, staff to assist guests where to go, staff scattered around the museum to answer questions about exhibits and artifacts, and probably more people working behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. While it's pretty expensive, what you get for your money totally supersedes what you'd get for the same price point at another nice venue such as the Colony Club. Everything is taken care of for you at the Henry Ford, everything is made extremely convenient and easy for your guests (I highly recommend having the ceremony and reception both in the museum), the guests get to explore a huge museum privately, eat delicious food (like an 11pm taco bar or post-dinner international coffee station!!), and dance under a giant plane. But really, so many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and I'd have to agree : ) Reviewed on 20-10-2015
carrie Chow(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-08-2015 I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the The Henry Ford Museum inside the actual museum. It is a great location for a wedding just for the historical aspect of it all. I had many out of town guests coming in so wanted somewhere where it was unique and fun. My guests loved that they could have the whole museum to themselves and walk around and take in everything. This venue is especially good with entertaining kids since they were able to play with some of the exhibits and find the molds throughout the museum to create. Starting out, it was at times hard to get ahold of the Events manager to actually book the museum for my wedding. But Aileen made up for it all as my wedding coordinator. She was such a pleasure to work with and plan a wedding with. Anything I asked of her she ensured I had it available and was always available to meet or talk to. Correspondences were timely and she made the day so wonderful. Every part of the museum is beautiful and the food was great (compliments by many), I would highly recommend this as a venue and especially Aileen Reviewed on 21-09-2015
Justin Zatkoff(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2015 Our wedding was recently at The Henry Ford, Lovett Hall. The staff was very helpful and friendly throughout the wedding planning process. Very professional. \r\rOn the day of the wedding, the staff was superb. The overwhelming response from our guests was that the service, food, and drinks were excellent. The staff did a great job. The venue is so beautiful, we had many guests compliment how well Lovett hall is kept. Several guests enjoyed the gardens, balcony, and downstairs area in addition to the ball room. Would highly recommend this venue for your event. Reviewed on 21-09-2015
Kristy Varkoly(wedding party)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-11-2015 I am writing this review as a member of the bridal party. My brother got married here in September 2013 and everything went wrong. My Mom had asked to look at the seating chart to make sure it was correct but they refused to let her review it and insisted that it was right. However, as everyone was getting seated, we quickly realized they had flipped the seating chart! Our closest family (i.e. parents and aunts and uncles) tables were in the back and friends were in front by the head table. They served a limited amount of hor dourves and wouldn't open the bar, not even for water or pop, until dinner was served. Waiters and bar staff especially were extremely rude. Definitely make sure that everyone has their ID because they card everyone. I was in the bridal party, I left my purse back at the hotel where we got ready (20 minutes away) so I did not have my ID. I was 25 at the time and I do look young so I understand the need to check my ID, however, it really ruined my night because my cousin had to leave to get my ID and when I gave them my ID they scrutinized it and monitored me all night. Attitude every time I got a drink. I felt uncomfortable the whole night. Also, more importantly, my brother had ordered premium drinks and the bar was stocked with low shelf liquor. To make it worse they were super stingy on the alcohol! It was a beautiful hall but really horrible service for too high of a price. I'm planning my own wedding now and this popped up in featured venues and I wanted to warn future brides! Reviewed on 15-09-2015

Alexis Haftka(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2014 There are not enough words to express my gratitude to The Henry Ford. My husband and I had our reception at Lovett Hall on the property of the The Henry Ford. It was more than I could have imagined. The staff was so sweet and helpful. A particular staff member was so helpful to my parents with loading our gift box, champagne flutes and knife. She was available to my parents all night for anything they need. My coordinator Aileen was so amazing and made sure everything went smoothly that evening. She also worked extremely well with my wedding planner working out details for the reception. They made my wedding day the best day ever. The pictures looked spectacular. Reviewed on 06-02-2015

Not only was it absolutely beautiful and a dream come true, but the food, and service were amazing! Everyone was so helpful and I didn't worry about a thing the day of my wedding! The staff was very helpful, and helped us through many decisions.\r\rWe had our reception in the museum and could not have asked for a better time. The food was great, and the service was amazing. When we arrived after our ceremony we escorted through Greenfield Village in a Model T. It was one of many highlights of our day. Our vendors were able to display their talents with some really cool backdrops throughout the village and museum. Our guests had a great time. More then a year from our wedding, we still have many friends and family members who rave about the experience they had. \r\rWe would not hesitate to recommend the venue to other couples. Our wedding day was very special, and we have a lot of people to thank for that. The staff at THF was very helpful, and provided us a great experience. \r\rTo those at The Henry Ford, thank you! Katy Kerrigan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-10-2014 Scott and I looked at the Museum in December 2013 as an option for our wedding in the fall. We both were completely awestruck and couldn't believe that it would be possible to get married in such an incredible place. We immediately signed up for October 4th, 2014, and I can absolutely say that I had my dream wedding. The entire process was so easy. My event coordinator, Samantha, was always prompt in her responses to my lengthy, crazy questions, and she made everything clear and effortless. I had heard horror stories about planning weddings, but I can truly say that it was so much fun and absolutely painless. \r\rMy wedding was everything I had ever imagined. Everyone was raving about the food and service, and I had multiple people ask \"How did you know you could get married here?!\" or say, \"What an incredible place to have a wedding!\" People were blown away by the unique venue, and all of my guests loved having the museum open to explore throughout the evening. Not everyone can say they had their first dance in the clouds under a gigantic plane! ;)\r\rI really can't say enough about my experience with The Henry Ford. It was well worth the extra money that we had budgeted for our venue, and I don't regret a single thing. My husband, Scott, was skeptical at first due to the price; once he saw the \"Driving America\" car court, he was convinced! :) I can't thank the staff at Henry Ford enough for making our day so perfect! Anonymous (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-06-2014 My husband and I were recently married at Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford Museum this past June 6, 2014. I cannot say enough great things about our experience at Lovett Hall and the entire planning process with our wedding planner through them. We were fortunate enough to work with Donna Van Landschoot. She is AMAZING and made the whole planning process so much easier for us. She is on top of it and always promptly responded to my many emails. She took a lot of stress off of me!\r\rLovett Hall and the Ginger Meyer garden were absolutely stunning the day of our wedding. The garden is where our ceremony was, and it was absolutely beautiful...everything I wanted. Our reception was in the ballroom of Lovett Hall, which was breathtaking! Our guests are still talking about it 5 months later! The pictures inside the hall turned out amazing because of how classy and elegant the ballroom is. We also did the horse and buggy ride with our wedding party to take pictures in Greenfield Village. This was well worth the cost ($450). We got to stop anywhere in the village we wanted to do photos after the village was already closed so we did not have to worry about tourists. They even had champagne waiting for us on the buggy. Our guests enjoyed an amazing cocktail hour in the lobby of Lovett Hall which is just as gorgeous as the rest of the building.\r\rWhen I look back on my wedding I cannot believe how amazing it was. Lovett Hall was my dream wedding place, and I fell in love with it when I first visited it. Any bride would be happy to have their wedding there! The staff was amazing, and I had the classy wedding I wanted. Reviewed on 27-10-2014
