The Heritage Center at Mahaffie
The Heritage Center at Mahaffie is a wedding venue based in Olathe, KS. The assembly Hall features a 2,400 square-foot timber-frame design, large windows, and a grand stone fireplace, The Heritage Center barn (also referred to as the Assembly Hall) is the main focal point of the property. The open floor plan allows you to stage your wedding exactly how you envision it. The space is large enough to accommodate up to 150 guests or 112 guests with a dance floor. An additional 96 guests can be seated on the covered patio. The patio is attached to the Heritage Centerâs assembly hall. Overlooking the historic grounds, it is covered and includes ceiling heaters and a fireplace for cooler evenings. The patio can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony or up to 96 guests for the reception. Farmhouse Ceremony: Located only steps away from the Heritage Center, the 150-year-old farmhouse creates a picturesque scene for your wedding ceremony. Share your vows surrounded by family and friends on the grand front porch. South Lawn Ceremony: Situated just outside of the Heritage Center, the south lawn has a romantic and lush setting, perfect for a dreamy wedding ceremony. Walk the aisle and say, âI doâ within the tree-lined backdrop.

Communications with the site were great all along the way. The site is exceptionally beautiful, inside and out. A great place for photographs at any time of the year. The kitchen, bathrooms, and dressing room were close and perfect for our use. I do wish there was a restroom in the basement close to the dressing room, however. Ease of unloading/loading our items was good. The covered patio was perfect for overflow. The only complaint I have for this site is that it's open to the public until later in the day. Therefore, we couldn't set up in public walkways until they were closed. That put us behind in some ways, even with one of our vendors. Seems like our fee should cover that they are closed for that day...or at least close to the public earlier in the day (i.e. Noon). Otherwise, definitely a 5-star location.

ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THIS VENUE. The day I laid eyes on this venue was the day I knew that I would be getting married here. My husband was adamant that we would not be getting married outside but when he saw this venue he decided as well that we needed to get married outside. The venue is stunning with fantastic lake side views, it was so incredibly clean, organized, and the whole team was extremely kind. The only issue I would mention is they were not able to get outside chairs for the wedding although we booked with them as soon as possible and were hoping that they would have them by the time of our wedding (they mentioned they were in the process of trying to buy a set) BUT with that being said I would still 100000% book with them again! I have recommended them countless times and will continue to do so

Beautiful location, great parking, easy loading and unloading. We had our wedding and reception at The Heritage Center. The day of our wedding it poured and poured we were to have the wedding in the covered porch area. The staff was so helpful in making sure the weather played no part in our big day! Even with the rain our day was perfect. We also loved the signage they had at the front desk with our names! Lorna and Paige are the best and very easy to work with!! Lorna helped us to find all of our vendors and we can't recommend Hyvee and Victoria enough. Paige was just the sweetest and was very helpful with the heaters and garage doors for pictures and during the ceremony.

We loved working with Mahaffie and honestly very little complaint at all whatsoever. The only thing that really couldâve been improved for me at times was the communication. Some times we would email and receive a response in one or two days and more often than not we would email and never receive a response. Everything ended up perfect but this did cause a little bit of extra worry leading into the day.

We had planned for the ceremony to be outside on the lawn, but the weather did not play nice. The staff worked with us to rearrange the tables so we could have the ceremony and reception in the same space. I appreciated the professionalism of the staff. The venue was amazingly beautiful inside and out. We were able to make the space our own. Our guests all commented on how lovely it was.

Olathe Community Center is nice venue for the wedding. The price is affordable and the staff is nice and helpful. The process for renting is easy and the staff will help you whenever you need. Our wedding was at the park and it is a nice place for marriage ceremony and the reception was inside. We recommend to rent this place if you want to have a nice and affordable place in Olathe.

We just held a wedding at the Mahaffie Heritage Center, and this venue is AMAZING!!!!! Throughout the experience the staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The venue had everything we needed, including a staff member on hand the entire day to answer questions. We are so happy that we choose venues at 061 when looking for our venue. At first I was having a difficult time finding a place but after speaking to Lorna I had two venues to choose from. We loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Mahaffie. We still have people telling us how beautiful the venue was. They made my little girl dreams come true by arriving to the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage. I would recommend Venues at 061 to any couple looking for a venue.

We loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Mahaffie. We still have people telling us how beautiful the venue was. We had such a wonderful experience with the Heritage Center at the Mahaffie! The Venues at 061 have multiple spaces to offer, and we're glad we chose the Heritage Center! It was perfect for our reception. We wanted a laid back reception that was still fun and beautiful. They got the job done and then some. We had a basketball-themed wedding, so aside from our themed decor, we only added some string lights and florals and it was perfect. Guests can be inside or out, which makes it great for all weather. It's also great in the daytime and night - what more could you want? We could not be happier with our venue choice and the team there - thank you for helping make our day wonderful!

We loved having our ceremony and reception at the Heritage Center! All of the staff was so helpful and friendly leading up to the wedding and even more so on our big day! The grounds are so beautiful and the centers reception hall and patio were exactly the rustic look we were wanting! Not to mention it is very budget friendly!

The Heritage Center at Mahaffie is a one stop shop. When my fiance and I were looking at venues we loved that the Heritage Center could accommodate having the ceremony, reception, and our pictures all on site without having to move locations. We also loved the option of the covered patio as a backup plan for inclement weather. The park across the street at the Olathe Community Center was great for doing bridesmaid photos as we did not do a first look before the ceremony. Susan was incredibly helpful and patient throughout the process, Lorna was helpful but not in a very expedient manner. There are some inefficiencies the site could easily workout by having a \"tip sheet\" of various questions that are commonly asked that would eliminate needing to contact their staff for clarification (i.e. table sizes and recommend table cloth sizes for floor length, etc.). I would highly recommend the Heritage Center for a cost effective and gorgeous spot to host your wedding.

The Heritage Center at Mahaffie was the perfect venue for the start of our forever! Lorna was a great help through the whole process and made sure all our needs and wants were met. The venue itself is beautiful!! We got married outside in front of the farmhouse, but they made sure we had a backup plan (the covered patio) in case it rained. We didnât end up needing it but felt very taken care of! We were able to bring in our own caterers, tables and chairs were provided. All at an incredibly reasonable price for our wedding of about 180 but ended with around 150.

We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding day. Having our ceremony on the patio was a dream with the sunlight glowing through the trees behind us and the beautiful greenery outside. The reception space has a rustic charm, and it's great that we had the freedom to decorate it the way we wanted to. The staff were very helpful and accommodating throughout the wedding planning process and especially the day of the wedding. All of the chairs and tables were set up for us, which was incredibly convenient. We highly recommend the Mahaffie Heritage Center to anyone looking for a charming, convenient, and affordable event space.

My husband and I had our wedding and reception at Heritage Center at Mahaffie in August 2017. We couldnât ask for a better place to celebrate!! I am originally from Olathe, KS and both my husband and I live in NJ (where he is from) and we have friends from all over the states. Olathe provided the perfect location for our friends and family to come together and celebrate. The planning of the wedding went seamlessly considering I was in NJ and my mom and both of my sisters and my cousin did a lot of setting up, and confirming the wedding process for us! We couldnât ask for a better day - not one hiccup or drama that needed to be resolved. My in-laws and family and friends from out of state were in awe in how beautiful the location was. Especially that we could all walk over to the reception within few steps! Thank you for letting us celebrate our special moment at Heritage Center!

It was also a great price if youâre looking for a medium sized wedding because they have all types of venues. Mahaffie has been a great help and I would highly recommend. We got married at the heritage center this May! Our ceremony was on the south lawn and we used the patio and indoor space for a reception! It was absolutely perfect and exactly what we wanted!!! So many places to take great photos. They do not allow alcohol to be consumed prior to having security present, so make sure to tell your wedding party to avoid conflict. Lorna was awesome to work with and so accommodating! Highly recommend!

We had our wedding at the Heritage Center at Mahaffie in November of 2017. This place was easy to decorate into our dream wedding. The wood beams and the fire place inside made the perfect setting. There was plenty of room for dancing and hanging out. We had our ceremony on the patio outside and the fire pits going to help bring in a little heat. We couldnât have been happier with how our wedding turned out. The scenery made it beautiful for sunset pictures and we got to walk around and take pictures by the barn. The bridal party was able to get ready downstairs during the entire day. They provided the tables, chairs and bar tables. It fit perfectly within our budget and it was such a magical night and we couldnât have been happier with the venue.

The venue was a blank canvas and the carriage rides were a huge hit! It was a little expensive for the amount of time you got the venue (set up starting at 10am, out by 1230 am). The staff were great and accommodating though!!

Overall the wedding was great but we had some bumpy patches along the road. I had hoped the stagecoach would have been better because the reason being my tour of the venue was amazing. The experience was okay but I don't think I'd reccomend it. There's alot of miscommunication. First of all trying to get ahold of a rental coordinator to ask questions is hard. It would sometimes take Lorna a couple days and it seemed like nobody else knew rental questions and pricing..that's frustrating. My coordinator had to get a little firm because they wouldn't schedule our rehersal and when they finally did ANOTHER bride was there!! Yes, hers was a little earlier but they still ran into our time. At our final walk through I was told I could leave our stuff as long as it wasn't furniture in the bridal suite. Nobody communicated with the staff so when I tried to bring my stuff they almost didn't let me. Luckily I was able too because Lorna answered and said yes. It was just frustrating the communication. Not to mention when I went to pay my final amount I was trying to ask questions and the body language just made me feel like like I was bothering her. In wedding planning communication is a big thing and my expectations were just not met. Not to mention my family even felt like susan was rude while we were setting up.

We planned our wedding from across the country, and Lorna, Susan, and their team made everything so easy. They were helpful and quick to respond to emails, and they are true professionals who made it easy to plan our big day. The open-vendor policy also made it easy for us to set things up just the way we wanted, and they were very flexible with our set-up the day of. The venue itself is SO gorgeous - we did nothing to the ceremony site and didn't even need to decorate much for the reception. Everything was clean and pretty. This venue is beautiful and versatile! We had our ceremony on the covered patio, which looked out onto gorgeous green space. This was ideal for me because we could sort of be outside with nice breezes and fresh air, but had no worries regarding weather at all. It was also great to have the ability to go in and out during the reception and play games, hang out at the bar tables or go back in for more dancing. We had ample space for everything. But what really made this place special was Susan. She was available to us no matter how many times we visited the site. A true expert, she advised us the best way to utilize the space and gave us advice on other wedding questions I had. I absolutely loved this place. It made my dream wedding a reality.

We chose the heritage space and had hopes of having it outside on the lawn but with all the rain we had, our plan B was moving it under the covered patio and it ended up being just as gorgeous! The staff is so accommodating and they let you run with any vendors you like, and are there to help with setup and breakdown of tables and chairs. Lorna was wonderful to work with and the space is so beautiful and perfect if you like the rustic appeal like we did. The grounds are gorgeous for taking pictures too - overall we had a wonderful experience and it is so affordable!! Highly recommend!!

This was the perfect venue for us.Elegant, simple, and VERY affordable!We had our ceremony and reception in the center, and flipping it took only 30 minutes! We took advantage of the big posts and strung lights back and forth between them, and also used their pole for our tulle and light backdrop at the garage door. Absolutely beautiful. Our venue coordinator, Lorna was an absolute sweetheart to work with. Thank you, Mahaffie, for providing us a place for our fairytale wedding!

We just had our wedding at the Olathe Community Center last weekend and i have to say the venue was amazing. We had enough room for guest, the grounds offered a lot of places for pictures and it didn't break the bank. I will definitely be renting here again.

This space was perfect for our wedding! It is simple and beautiful! The staff was amazing and detailed. I loved that we were able to bring in our own stuff and make it personal to us. I highly recommend this place!

It was a seamless transition into cocktail hour on the covered patio and then dinner and dancing in the main inside area. The rental staff was so helpful throughout the planning process and on the day of (especially Susan!) Things couldn't have been easier or looked more beautiful. Highly recommend!

I got married at the Heritage Center at Mahaffie in April of 2018. My husband & I elected to have our ceremony under the covered porch attached to the Heritage Center & have our reception immediately after inside the Heritage Center. VENUE SPACE â The space is simple, spacious and gives you that rustic feel without being in an actual barn. Inside the Heritage Center makes a great space for a reception and there are a few options for a ceremony space on the grounds. My husband and I knew that we wanted to have our entire event (ceremony & reception) at the same location to make things easier for ourselves and our guests. The Heritage Center is an excellent option for this. PRICE â The price of the venue rental was very affordable, especially in comparison to many other venues in the greater Kansas City area. Additionally, we were not required to use any vendors off of a âpreferred vendor list,â which many other venues require. This alone saved my husband & I a great deal because we had the freedom to make fiscally responsible choices rather than being forced to choose an overpriced caterer, photographer, DJ, etc. STAFF - The rental coordinator assistant, Susan was very friendly, professional and very helpful. She was on the grounds and available to us during our event if we needed her and was very easy to work with. MISC - Throughout the months prior, there were a couple of situations that caused my husband and I some concern. Several months after we booked the venue, we received an email from the rental coordinator stating that there would be another event on the grounds at the same time as our wedding. We worried that the other event would interrupt or distract from our wedding because our ceremony was technically outside, under the covered porch attached to the Heritage Center. The other event was across the grounds of the farmstead & we were concerned that the other event's sound equipment might cause a distraction during our ceremony or that their guests might wander over into the backdrop of our ceremony. The rental coordinator was not very sympathetic to our questions or concerns, but thankfully there were no issues on our wedding day.Overall, my husband and I had a positive experience with the Venues at 061. The Heritage Center at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop was a beautiful background for a day that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

I could not praise the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farmstead enough for helping to make our wedding day so memorable! The entire process from beginning to the day of was super easy. Lorna, Susan, and Sarah at the Mahaffie Farmstead were there to answer any silly questions I had or ask me questions about things I'd forgotten about. They were incredibly prompt with their responses and so easy to work with. This venue is incredibly valuable considering all the different photo op landscapes and rustic buildings. We got a ton of different themed shots from our photographers and videographers (corn fields, shaded fenced areas, tree-lined pathways, etc...). They have an open catering policy which gave us so much freedom and they let us bring in our own alcohol. The venue and it's staff made our day perfect. Even our guests and vendors were amazed at how beautiful the venue and property was. I can't recommend this place enough!

Every little girl dreams about her wedding day and mine came true!! The Heritage Center at The Mahaffie was EVERYTHING and more I could've asked for in a venue. From the moment we walked in, the front office was kind and helpful and up to the very day when they helped to ensure a beautiful event space! One of the reason I loved the Heritage Center was not only for the ambiance but location and ease. I loved (and so did my soon to be mother-in-law ...) that we could visit any time to get a feel for the space and run through how we wanted the day to be. I also loved the fact that this venue allows you to have the ceremony AND reception all in one location! We had our ceremony on the south lawn and it was absolutely stunning followed by cocktail hour under the covered patio and reception inside! Lorna sat down with myself, my future in laws and our wedding coordinator to determine how we wanted everything set up for the day of. It was nice knowing the team at the Heritage Center sets up the tables and chairs for indoor reception and outdoor ceremony, all we had to do was bring in our imagination and decorations! They allowed us to bring in any and all decorations from lighting, centerpieces, eucalyptus chandeliers and evening a couch/chairs for sitting area outside! I loved the flexibility of this venue. I would highly recommend them, they helped my dream wedding to become reality and it will be a day we forever remember... Thank you to the amazing team at The Heritage Center!!

My husband and I had our wedding and reception at the Mahaffie in August of 2016. It was absolutely perfect! The patio was beautiful for our ceremony, and even in the middle of August it wasn't too hot and the fans helped keep our guests cool. The indoor space was great for the reception, and having tables and chairs provided by the venue made things a lot easier. It was just the right size to accommodate all of our guests--we had about 150. The venue was also great about letting us bring in our own food and drinks, which saved us a lot of money.

I got married at Heritage Center at Mahaffie on 08/05/17. It was a wonderful venue and so easy to decorate. We had the ceremony on the patio and reception indoors. It was pouring rain my wedding day and we had no problems at all with the ceremony since it is covered and protected on multiple sides. We we're even able to have the doors up like I wanted. Susan was amazing and helped in so many ways with decor and questions. This venue was so affordable compared to everywhere else I looked and allowed outside vendors which helped us keep costs down. They helped create an amazing night for me!

We loved having our wedding at Mahaffie. We had our rehearsal dinner on the covered patio, the ceremony in front of the historic house, and the reception in the Heritage Center. It's a beautiful location, great staff, and affordable venue. My cousin recently had his wedding there as well with the ceremony on the covered patio and the reception inside. I enjoyed being a guest as well.

We had a great experience with mahaffie. They had the tables and chair set up on time and offered advice on how to make set up easier, such on hanging up lights and how it has previously been done. Susan and her husband were specifically great on the night of my wedding. One thing though is that a few days before my wedding I called and left a message for Lorna about extra set up time and never heard anything back. Other wise everything was great and absolutely beautiful. Most helpful part was getting access to their golf cart, was very helpful on getting my grandparents out to the ceremony site in front of the historic house.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Heritage Center at Mahaffie in mid-November. The sun goes down fairly early that time of year. Since we had our wedding on a Friday evening to save money, we had to have our ceremony after it was dark out. We were able to go onto the grounds to do photos before the sun went down, which was great. It was also amazing to have access during business hours to get everything set up. Everyone there was very helpful in answering any questions we had if we stopped by and offered tons of suggestions based on the weddings they've seen at the site. I was a little concerned that our reception photos would turn out dark since the room seemed dim at night. But the room does have lights, plus we added string lights and we had a good photographer, so our photos turned out perfectly lit. We had a great experience with Mahaffie!!

We got married in front of the old plantation house and I rode up in a horse-drawn carriage. We are still hearing from people about how cool it was to see me ride in with my dad on the carriage! Overall it was just a beautiful venue and everyone was great to work with. They were patient in answering my questions and humored my desire to have two meetings before the actual wedding day.

Our wedding at Mahaffie was just beautiful. We did our ceremony in front of the house but they have several different places you can choose from. The nice thing about Mahaffie is that unlike a lot of other venues, they didn't make us pay an additional fee for having the ceremony on site. The dressing room is small but we set up one of their tables right outside the room since it is in the basement and still private that way my bridesmaids could all have space and we were all together away from everyone else. That was really nice. You have access starting in the morning which is great too. Leah and Shae were amazing. Shae was there during our whole day helping us out. Since it was early September the corn behind the house made a beautiful backdrop and gave it privacy from the road, which can be hard to find doing a wedding this close to the city. The outdoor patio worked well and we were able to seat all of our guests, (we had around 200). All of the tables were set up when we got there exactly as we had planned in a pre-wedding meetings. All in all it was a great time at a great price too!

Our wedding at Mahaffie was just beautiful. We did our ceremony in front of the house but they have several different places you can choose from. The nice thing about Mahaffie is that unlike a lot of other venues, they didn't make us pay an additional fee for having the ceremony on site. The dressing room is small but we set up one of their tables right outside the room since it is in the basement and still private that way my bridesmaids could all have space and we were all together away from everyone else. That was really nice. You have access starting in the morning which is great too. Leah and Shae were amazing. Shae was there during our whole day helping us out. Overall my experience with Mahaffie was great! Beautiful Venue with 1850s working farmstead. Lots of great places for portraits (red bard, stone house, white fence, green crops). The price was really good especially since we did a Monday wedding ($350!!). So for what we paid it was excellent. My only complaint is they just dropped off boxes for us to set up the chairs outside. Maybe it was a misunderstanding but I thought they were going to help set up. However, everything else was lovely! Highly recommend!
