The High Point Reviews
Abigail Koetting(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-11-2022 The High Point and Robert Ryan Catering team were everything we could have asked for and more. The venue is beautiful - high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, beautiful, large entrance doors - and needed very little additional decorations. Throughout the planning process, Amanda at Robert Ryan Catering was extremely helpful. She helped us develop our menu, make our signature cocktails and select our table settings. Any questions we had, we’re answered promptly and thoughtfully. We always felt that Amanda truly wanted us to have the wedding we envisioned. On the day of the wedding, Natalie (our day of coordinator) set everything up beautifully. Her relationship with all our different vendors was apparent as everything came together seamlessly. The service during cocktail hour and the reception was second to none. My groom and I, were never left empty handed with food, drink or anything we wanted. All of our guests having been raving about the food and drink since the wedding. The appetizers were delicious - our favorite was the caprese dumpling. And the soup / salad combo was perfect for our fall wedding. Finally the entrees were incredible - and they were even able to provide gluten free options for our guests with dietary restrictions.Selecting The High Point and Robert Ryan was the best decision we made for our wedding! Michelle Hartman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2021 5 stars all the way!! I got engaged on 4/18/21 and had my wedding on 10/1/21 (quick right lol?) I had it at The High Point and it was everything I hoped for and more. I worked with Leigh over at Robert Ryan Catering and she was amazing. Easy to talk to and work with, I felt like we were more like friends then anything ! She helped me the entire process from the food sections and the drinks etc, she made it so easy and fun! Her staff was spot on the entire night and the food and drinks were amazing. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous with its tall rustic ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors. The landscaping -impeccable with all the open grass and trees in the background. It’s t truly a hidden gem! If you are looking into this place definitely give Leigh a call, you will not be disappointed!! (I’ll add pics once I get them back!) Reviewed on 20-11-2021
Kelly Carr(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-04-2021 We were supposed to have our reception 3/28/20, but we postponed 3 times due to covid. Robert Ryan Catering and KT were amazing in letting us wait until we were more comfortable to have our special day. The High point is a gorgeous venue, and I am so excited we were able to have our reception there. Food was great, views were gorgeous, and the staff is top notch. Thank you Robert Ryan catering for the perfect day!! Reviewed on 15-04-2021
Tracy Pfizenmayer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-10-2020 Our wedding was originally scheduled for the beginning of May (we were less than 6 weeks out!), but we decided postponing was the best option given the current state of the coronavirus outbreak. The High Point & Robert Ryan Catering have been so helpful and accommodating to us through this whole process. We wish we didn't have to wait so much longer to get married, but we are lucky that we chose a venue and caterer that have made this nightmare a little less harsh and that we know will give us the wedding day we have been dreaming of! Cassidy Beyer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-07-2017 After looking at other local venues my groom and I fell in love with the Bank Barn and the grounds at the High Point. It is the perfect space if you want the look of a barn/rustic space but with modern amenities like AC and no hay bales. We loved that we were able to chose our own caterer, do our own decorations the day before, and that there was indoor and outdoor space. Gail was easy to work with and very accommodating. She even allowed our 15 year old dog at our reception because the High Point is dog/pet friendly. The only negatives we found were that the we wish there was a paved outdoor walkway to the patio space, that the cocktail room was less plain and school room like, and the other negative was that it the base price was a little expensive to have additional costs added on, like chairs, insurance, and a dance floor. That being said we are so glad to have had our wedding reception at the High Point and would definitely recommend it. Reviewed on 28-09-2017
Brianne Benton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2016 Ideal for couples looking for a laid back rustic feel. The venue, with its high ceiling with wooden beams was so naturally beautiful that little additional decorations were needed. Our September wedding had perfect weather so we used the outdoor patio for cocktail hour and the grassy area for lawn games. The church grounds also had so many beautiful places for photos to be taken. Reviewed on 19-10-2016
Valerie Mills(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2016 The High Point was one of many venues that I contacted but was the only one I ended up touring...we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. Gail Malcolm became the new Marketing and Event Coordinator about 6 months before my wedding and she did not skip a beat in catching up to speed with all the plans for my wedding. She and Eman Twereet were extremely helpful throughout the whole planning process and were always happy and willing to allow me to stop by the venue in order to make plans for our decor. The fact that the High Point only holds one wedding per weekend really allows them to focus on your event. Being able to set up our reception the day before was a HUGE money saver. We did not have to hire a day of coordinator because we were able to do all our decorating the day before and Gail was available during my entire event to help with anything that came up. We also were able to do our center piece floral arrangements ourselves during the day before set up time...also a HUGE money saver! The High Point is a stunning and unique venue with a lot of history. Gail went above and beyond the day of the wedding to ensure that our event went off without a hitch. Our wedding day was truly perfect and we are so grateful for all the memories we have thanks to the High Point. Reviewed on 17-10-2016
Kaelah Shaffer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-08-2016 We really loved having our wedding at The High Point. For us, the biggest selling point was the fact that there was a church and reception venue on the same sight. This alleviated so many extra costs/logistics and the guests definitely appreciated it. Plus, the church is absolutely gorgeous and so quaint. It is really a beautiful venue and the area is nice in that The High Point itself is tucked away but it's close to the highway making it easy for guests to arrive + lots of hotel/restaurant options near-by. The staff is also great since they are Christian individuals and not just in the business to sell you a product. There was a bit of a confusion since the marketing director switched over in the middle of our planning process, but it all worked out in the end. Overall it was pretty reasonable but as one reviewer mentioned, there are a lot of added expenses since it's largely DIY so that's something to take into consideration. They provide you with a pre-selected list of caterers that is not too extensive- you can choose to find your own, but I believe there is an extra cost associated with that and you have to get it approved. It also was a bit of a bummer having to do clean-up on the evening of the reception, but I understand why (they have church services there in the morning) and they were very flexible with us. Overall we were very happy with our venue selection and definitely recommend it to others. The marketing director and the event coordinator are both there on the wedding day which really helps the process run smoothly. You essentially have a built-in wedding planner! Reviewed on 19-09-2016
a member (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-05-2015 If we could give them 6 out of 5 stars we would! Their website does not do them any justice; The High Point is a beautiful venue! It is just remote enough that you don't feel like you are in the Philadelphia metro area anymore, yet it's only minutes from an assortment of hotels and the turnpike. The recently built bank barn sits on the hillside of historic church grounds and overlooks a vast wooded area. The wood interior is fantastic and requires very little decoration. Guests have great views of the surrounding hillside.\r\rThe staff is also AMAZING. Donna, the marketing director, is very professional and informative. She was a great help and very straightforward with us throughout the whole process. She ensured the proper staff would be available for our setup the day before and for the event itself. Eman, the event supervisor, was FANTASTIC. She was very courteous and professional, and looked to ensure all of our guests were having the perfect evening. There was not a detail that she overlooked and she even helped coordinate for our shuttle to arrive prior to the end of the evening so that some of our guests could get back to the hotel earlier.\r\rThanks to The High Point and their staff, our reception was memorable for us and all of our family and guests! Meg Moyer(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-06-2012 I loved the High point, although there were a LOT of extra fees. The entire room had a wooden floor, but I had to pay $800 for a dance floor...to go over it. Also had to pay insurance and liquor liability. AND rent extra tables and ALL CHAIRS. I was definitely disappointed they didn't include the dance floor or chairs in the rental fee, which for four hours was $3000. It was a beautiful reception, and the people there were very skilled and helpful and super kind. It all worked out, and the kitchen was great for the caterer. Reviewed on 03-08-2012
