With an expansive range of venues, including The Barn and Ruins, The Hall and The Boxwood Garden, The Inn at Willow Grove is the perfect place for weddings of every style and size, from chic to rustic and from 20 to 180 guests. The Inn only hosts one wedding a weekend, which guarantees you will be our top priority.
I would highly recommend the Inn at Willow Grove for any special event. In my search for the perfect venue, I happened upon this gem. From the first moment that I toured the venue and talked to Michelle I knew that this place was perfect for my wedding ceremony. It was so perfect that I booked my date just a few days after touring the property. Throughout the year leading up to my wedding Liz helped with all the details and kept planning on track. She did not leave any details unattended. She was also very responsive to my many questions and requests to come back and see the venue or the cottages. There was never a time that she was not gracious and accommodating. The planning and help before the ceremony was top notch, but that isnât even the best part. The weekend of the ceremony could not have gone any better. There are so many details that describe the Willow Grove teamâs commitment to making my wedding special and smooth. The check in process was smooth and efficient. It took just a few minutes and we were walked to our cottage by a team member. They settled our bags in and made sure we had everything we needed before they left. My rehearsal dinner food was amazingly delicious. The party raved about the food and service. Liz was there for the event, ending we had what we needed and helping keep the dinner moving. Liz walked us through the rehearsal, making sure we were prepared for the most important day in me and Dakotaâs life. On the day of the ceremony, we woke to coffee service left at the door to our cottages. This included beignets that were as good as any Iâve ever eaten. My aunt, who doesnât drink coffee was sent tea service instead. This was repeated each morning of our stay. Their specialized care also included turndown service each night. Turndown service included a small treat left on the nightstand. These small details made the wedding party and those staying on site feel pampered and taken care of. My wedding ceremony and reception could not have been any better. Liz ensured that all vendors were helped with their set up and took care of all the small, personal details that were special to Dakota and I. She even went above and beyond to help me get my perfect sunset wedding photos, which were so important to me. My friends and family still talk about how good the food was at my reception and how beautiful the venue was. I cannot capture in this review how amazing the Willow Grove venue and team are. I will be eternally grateful to this amazing group for all of the efforts that went into making my weekend and day special. I highly recommend the Inn at Willow Grove for any event you might be planning. You will not be disappointed. Reviewed on 06-11-2023

We recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at the Inn at Willow Grove and working with their exceptional day-of coordinator, Liz Coffey. The experience was absolutely stellar from start to finish. As an LGBTQ+ couple, we wanted to ensure that our venue would embrace our love story with the utmost respect and inclusivity. In our first conversations, the Inn made it clear that they were dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all couples.First and foremost, the venue itself is an absolute gem. The Inn at Willow Grove is nestled in a picturesque countryside setting, with stunning grounds and beautifully appointed spaces. The historic charm of the Inn, combined with its modern amenities, created an ambiance that was both romantic and elegant. The staff at the Inn at Willow Grove went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our wedding was flawless. From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, they were attentive, professional, and incredibly accommodating. A standout highlight of our experience was working with Liz Coffey, the day-of coordinator at the Inn. Liz worked closely with us to create a personalized timeline and ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding. Her calm and composed demeanor kept us at ease throughout the entire event, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment. I had an AMAZING wedding weekend at the Inn at Willow Grove this past March! We hosted a 70-person wedding at this venue that included a welcome dinner, ceremony/reception and farewell brunch. We booked the entire inn and venue for the weekend because I wanted my guests to have a weekend getaway and be âcontained and entertainedâ the whole time! The Inn at Willow Grove was able to take my vision and bring it to life â the wedding weekend felt effortless and ran so smoothly because of the beautiful location, wonderful people, and impeccable customer service. A big thank you to my on-site wedding coordinator, Liz Coffey, for being so fun, helpful, detail-oriented, and patient during the entire process! My guests canât stop raving about their experience at the Inn at Willow Grove. Everyone was greeted warmly with a glass of prosecco at check-in, we had a delicious BBQ buffet for the welcome dinner and elegant plated service for the wedding, we also enjoyed walking around the stunning inn grounds, plus you could book a relaxing on-site spa session and have coffee and beignets for breakfast every morning. These details and small touches make all the difference when you are planning your perfect wedding weekend getaway. Thank you again to Liz, Michele, Wednesday and all the event and inn staff for making it special weekend for everyone! Iâm still getting compliments about our wedding!! A few recommendations: use local vendors! This makes all the difference because they already have relationships with the Inn and that helps things run very efficiently. The Inn provides chairs, plateware, glassware, tablecloths and a few other details in the price â use them! You can still have a magical design with other elements such as flowers, lighting, etc. If you need to make a few adjustments with food (I had a few vegetarian/vegan attendees) or additional wine/beverage choices, they are very accommodating and will work with you and what they have available with their vendors. Finally â donât stress about every single detail! Liz and the team are very thoughtful about your event(s), and they have the same goal â they want you to be happy and have a beautiful & successful wedding too! Reviewed on 09-05-2023

The absolute best thing we did for our wedding was to pick Willow Grove as our venue. It enabled us to have all our close friends and family stay onsite with us, which made the weekend relaxing and so much fun. Willow Grove is also beautiful, and set away from any road or other business, which is great. The food and service was absolutely amazing. Weâve had multiple guests tell us unprompted, months after the wedding, that we had the best wedding theyâve ever been to. I want to make sure to take the time to thank all staff involved with our wedding at Willow Grove. Our coordinator Liz was awesome, and made me feel so confident that everything would go great over the weekend, which it did. All staff members who served drinks and food, and who were responsible for cleaning the area after dinner, were super friendly, smiley, and it genuinely made us feel so happy. It started when we were visiting another venue in the area and decided to stop by the Inn for lunch without an appointment. We were introduced to Wednesday and she dropped everything she was doing to chat with us about having our wedding at the property. We were completely blown away by her service and the time she spent answering all our questions â the service we received that day was better than any potential venue we visited (where we had scheduled appointments). This incredible level of service we received from the staff at the Inn was a common theme in every interaction. Our next interaction was with Michele. We made an appointment to come show our parents the property, and Michele also rolled out the red carpet for our visit. She answered the questions of our entire family and made sure we had a champagne toast. Throughout the entire planning process, Michele quickly addressed all our questions related to the rooms and we are truly grateful for her kindness and assistance! Quick note on the rooms, they are all stunning â our guests loved them!Lastly, but certainly not least is the amazing Liz! We first met Liz at our food tasting and she made sure the visit was personalized and accommodated all our crazy requests! Liz was an absolute pleasure to work with and brought such a wealth of knowledge to how to make our day perfect. On our wedding weekend, Liz was running around making sure all the logistics and stuff in the background was going smoothly, but she also made sure to check-in on us and ensure we were as happy as possible. Everyone we encountered at the Inn was absolutely incredible. We first went there to celebrate my birthday in Fall 2020 and immediately fell in love with the place. Ever since that initial visit, we always talked about going back. Then, when we got engaged in January 2022, it was the first place we thought of for a wedding. The Inn at Willow Grove is so much more than just a wedding venue. Everyone who works there is so friendly and accommodating and really made us feel like family. Having our wedding there gave us something we couldnât possibly put a price tag on - a weekend of the best quality time spent with our very closest friends and family members. The property is gorgeous and perfectly maintained. There are multiple event spaces all over for you to host a dream wedding weekend - including a separate space for rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and goodbye brunch space. We hosted our rehearsal dinner there on Friday night and had a blast, with delicious food and excellent service. Our wedding day was amazing and we were told by several different guests that the entrees were the best food they had ever had at a wedding. The servers were great and the bar tenders were friendly. We had a goodbye brunch on Sunday and everything was organized perfectly and the food was delicious again.. it was the perfect send off. We were just sad to have to leave! Liz, the events manager, was amazing. She was always available for questions and quick to respond. She helped oversee all details of the weekend: rehearsal, wedding day, and brunch. She even included little surprises for us that she knew we would love as she got to know us.. and she was right! She and her team were exceptional. Savannah Salter(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-12-2021 The Inn is gorgeous with amazing food and really fantastic servers and hotel staff. Our guests couldnât stop raving about the picturesque property. The reason I am only giving 3 stars is because the event planning staff is not good. We started with Lynn as our coordinator, who we absolutely loved, but she moved and was replaced with Liz. As amazing as the Inn was, Iâm not sure I would rebook with them if I knew I would be working with Liz. She is much more concerned about making things easy on herself and her staff than making the event great for guests. She refused the moved chairs inside when it started to rain (we ended up contacting the owner who got them all moved in less than 30 minutes), she messed up transportation which negatively impacted our event, deleted my finished seating chart which I had to completely redo, and didnât help us clean up at all after the reception. I canât recommend the Inn enough as a venue but I would make sure you have your own wedding planner and day of planner so you donât have to work with Liz directly. Reviewed on 30-12-2021

The Inn was the first and only venue we toured, and we were sold. It checked all the boxes and went above and beyond in the service category! We initially booked for 2020 but postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. They were incredibly accommodating and communicative during this time and when it came time to pick up planning again, they were ready as soon as we were. The grounds are absolutely stunning all year around (we found every excuse to visit even when there was no wedding planning). I loved how many different spaces there are to host events â from the gardens to the patio, the hall, the barn, and the ruins. All my guests loved the venue, food, and beverage. When we walked around at the end of dinner to greet all the guests at their tables I could have sworn some of their plates had been licked clean. Everyoneâs plates were empty because the food was that delicious, which is saying something since it was 160 people! The wine their sommelier, Wednesday, chose was absolutely perfect. Even people who arenât wine drinkers said it was delicious. If youâre ever there for dinner, ask if sheâs around to help you pair one with your meal. Sheâs the best! In the months leading up to the big day, I visited the venue on numerous occasions in order to take measurements, ask questions and bring my vendors by. Gabrielle was always so welcoming on these visits, even if they werenât always planned and worked with me to accommodate any request or inquiry. When we arrived for the big weekend, everyone was treated with the utmost courtesy and the whole Willow Grove team made my guests feel well taken care of and that they had all the little luxuries I had fallen in love with when I first saw the property. Michele and her team of fabulous butlers showed everyone to their unique rooms and Gabrielle was there every step of the way to help with the rehearsal so that the next day would go as smooth as possible. I wonât bury the lead...if youâre thinking of The Inn at Willow Grove as a wedding venue or a weekend away itâs a definite âyesâ. This is going to be a long post but there are a lot of people to thank for making our daughterâs wedding so lovely. It takes many people working together to make a wedding weekend a success and that is exactly what my family experienced at Willow Grove. Gabrielle, as our event coordinator, was a pleasure to work with. She was always attentive to our needs and her flawless execution of all the myriad decisions on the day of the wedding were professional and reassuring which allowed us to enjoy the day with our daughter as well as the entire bridal party. The event staff at the Barn and tented-Ruin were friendly and professional and Lynn was especially efficient and thoughtful always letting us, and the vendors, know that she was available if needed. It was obvious the staff cared about you and your big day. Michelle made my family and our friends feel very welcomed while checking in at Reception - which set a positive feel for the weekend. I really enjoyed my beignets and delicious coffee each morning delivered to our rooms in Overlook West - the decor within the entire site is exactly what I like. They take great care in making each of the rooms special. We want to acknowledge the kitchen for such delicious food for hor dâoeuvres and dinner (my favorite was the crab fritter). I know this post is long but I have to end by thanking both the owner, David, and the GM, Matthew, for their reassurance after a violent storm the evening before the wedding. A thunderstorm came through the town on Friday evening about 6:45 and toppled planters, tore limbs from trees and basically left debris about the beautiful property. On Saturday morning while I was assessing what needed to be done to repair our decor both David and Matthew assured me weâd all work together to get everything ready for the wedding that evening. By the time of the ceremony everything was in tip-top shape. We all, our friends and family, have such wonderful memories of my daughterâs wedding. Thank you Willow Grove! Reviewed on 11-08-2018

Ellen Craddock(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-08-2019 Let me begin by saying how incredibly disappointed we were with our stay. While you have a beautiful place in the hills of VA, your accommodations were less than average for the prices you charge and the woman who checked us in was rude at best. We find it will be best if I just list the items of disappointment than to rant in a lengthy note.1. We were delayed getting into Baltimore given air traffic and weather delays in the area and thus were not able to spend the night Friday. We contacted your staff as quickly as possible and were told there was nothing they could do in accommodating our cancellation, that no refunds would be available to us and that if we wanted to try and get a return then we should reach out to the wedding parties as there was nothing they could do. I am sure that our hosts had nothing better than to discuss a refund the night before the wedding. At a minimum, we should not have been charges your hospitality/resort fee as we were not even there.2. We have traveled all over the world from boutique hotels to national chains and have yet to stay in a place for the nightly rate you charge where there was no bathtub in the room and where the rooms were so incredibly small. We could barely maneuver our suitcases in the space. In addition, most bathrooms are fully equipped with toiletries where yours lacked shampoo. Very disappointing rooms.3. Accommodations for the rain were not well thought out by your staff. Rain happens but a plan to accommodate your resort guests should be a forethought not after thought. The mosquitoes under the tent were horrible and there was no way to get from the wedding to the dinner without getting soaked unless your guest had brought their own umbrella.4. The lighting along your pathway was spotting from what appeared to be lack of bulb replacement. In the dark, on wet pathways and on a steep hill this made for treacherous navigation back to our rooms ( we will gladly post pictures). The lighting along the slatted bridge was out and I got a heel caught in the slat, ruined a perfectly new pair of J. Renee shoes but fortunately avoided hitting the pavement. 5. Accidents happen but when your waitstaff is cleaning up and knocks over the red wine on your dress, one would have suspected to be approached by the manager in the type of facility you proclaim to be to determine how to remedy the situation. Obviously, this did not occur. Thus when I brought it to the front desk attention upon departure they said I could leave the dress and they would do there best to take care of it. As the dress was packed and we were late for our departure (see below), I opted to take care of it myself upon return to our home.6. Upon check in the manager asked if we would like coffee at 9 something and as we had an early flight we declined. The manager then said she would call her staff to accommodate the earlier time with our beignets and coffee at 6:45. We gladly accepted as there are no coffee machines in the rooms and it was quite a drive to find that first cup given the location. Delivery was 15 minutes late and with two sips we dashed to the front desk to pay our bill and delayed yet again in negotiating the cleaning of my dress and printer mishaps. All in all our experience was not impressive against all the favorable reviews sites have posted regarding your resort. We will not be back nor would we recommend to others given the exorbitant price to the value received. Very very disappointing. Reviewed on 23-06-2018

Every experience that we had was phenomenal and our guests were raving the entire weekend about the food, service, property, and accommodations! Gabrielle, Lynn, the Scibal family, and the entire event staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had the most perfect weekend. One of the things we loved the most was that our wedding party and immediate family all stayed on site, which allowed for so many special moments throughout the weekend beyond just the wedding itself, like walking the grounds on Saturday morning, drinking coffee and eating beignets on the porch, or getting together for drinks at the Pub. I was particularly worried about the weather because the area received several inches of snow earlier in the week, but after brainstorming many alternative options for the ceremony with Gabrielle and Lynn, we ultimately decided to still have the ceremony outdoors like we had originally envisioned. Lynn and the entire event staff were AMAZING and totally cleared the gardens and made the space look absolutely beautiful and the weather ended up cooperating for us too. As one reviewer said hiring her is optional and no matter what, she will be the most kind and gentle person you meeting on this wedding planning journey but HIRE HER! In addition to just being a lovely person that you can have a drink with at your tasting she absolutely saved my ass more times than once! We were late for rehearsal, it was pouring rain during our rehearsal so we had to improvise, I had non-english speaking family that was holding up every part of the wedding, my MIL brought her dogs unexpectedly, I put off getting desserts until one month before the wedding â Gabrielle fixed/saved it ALL. Craziest thing? I read through and signed my contract quickly and then went about planning my wedding for ten months â all for Sunday. I then went to my tasting two months before and realized that the wedding was actually (per my contract) supposed to be Saturday. Vendors were booked for Sunday. Save-the-dates and invites had gone out for Sunday. I freaked out. In walks Gabrielle to save my a$$, not for the first time and not for the last time. The most helpful thing for me was her down-to-earth attitude and calming effect. She has a grace under pressure that most brides do not (and I consider myself pretty laid back) and is invaluable for someone who doesnât plan 100+ people parties every weekend. Gabrielle and IWG I love you guys so much and canât wait to come back!!! Reviewed on 21-12-2017
Elisabeth Crisafulli(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-09-2017 My husband and I just got married at the Inn at a Willow Grove this October. Our wedding day was absolute perfection. This venue is stunning, and all of our guests kept telling us how picture perfect it was. The service was also amazing! Everything went off without a hitch. Anything we or any of our guests needed the venue was able to accommodate. The food was also to die for. If you get a chance, go to Vintage restaurant. It was delicious! Despite my worry over the new construction, they made sure we didn't know it was there and made sure the crews stopped working. I would highly recommend the Inn at Willow Grove to any bride! Olivia Barrow(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-09-2017 Let me just tell you about all the amazing things at the Inn at Willow Grove. Not only is the site absolutely gorgeous with break-taking views of the rolling hills of Orange, but the Inn staff run an elegant, seamless, and accommodating well-oiled machine. Lynn and Gabrielle (banquet master and wedding coordinator, respectively) are professional, organized, helpful, friendly, dedicated angels. Their help made our big day amazing, and everyone else at the Inn was cheerful and helpful along the way. The food was spectacular and I had guests complimenting it all evening. Gabrielle helped move the schedule along (even with a couple mishaps like our officiant showing up 2 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony, and us losing my 95-year old grandfather's blessing and scrambling right before the reception to find it while Gabrielle and team stalled and served the appetizers, with our guests none-the-wiser). The morning after, the owner even took the time to introduce himself and ask personally that everything was to our liking! He was so sweet and the effort there definitely showed how dedicated the entire staff is to making their weddings simply remarkable. All in all, I had guests and family constantly remarking on how beautiful the venue was, how great the food was, how friendly the staff was, and that it was the best wedding they had been to do date! On top of all of that, my husband and I felt completely pampered and stress-free, being able to enjoy and soak in every moment of it. I would absolutely recommend to anyone! Reviewed on 31-10-2017

Rachel Pick(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2017 Just had my wedding at the Inn at Willow Grove two weeks ago and I'm still getting emails, letters, etc from guests who can't stop gushing about how wonderful it was. From top to bottom, everything about the Inn was perfect. The grounds were beautiful, the food was incredible, the service courteous and friendly. Gabrielle, the wedding coordinator, was indispensable. Hiring her is optional, but DO IT. She was not only incredibly on top of things, but funny and great to talk to. A very reassuring presence when it all starts to get chaotic. And her help extended way beyond just the wedding weekendâshe was always helping my mom and I plan things and figure out details via email and phone. Everything they do is so thoughtful. Some examples:-The turn-down treats and early morning beignets with French press coffee made us feel like royalty. We brought our dog with us, and even she got a turn-down treat! -My grandfather has mobility issues, and he was driven everywhere in a golf cart to make his stay as comfortable as possible. -My husband and I were too busy to eat our dinners at the reception, but they saved full dinners for us and left them in our room for us to exhaustedly scarf at 4amâplus all the leftover cake. -The open bar and DJ have to shut down around 12, but you can rent their pub so the party can go until 2am, which was ideal for us and some of our crowd. -When I started getting a little nervous on rehearsal dinner night, Gabrielle just appeared out of nowhere holding a glass of wine for me. She knew.Seriously, there was no satisfaction box left unchecked. Everything was wonderful and stress-free. There is no place in the state (and probably beyond) that will treat you better. Stephanie Adams(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-11-2018 We had to quickly pull together a wedding after our original event in St Thomas, USVI was cancelled due to hurricane Irma. Gabrielle at the Inn at Willow Grove helped us pull off a miracle at the last minute. The grounds at this location are absolutely beautiful - there are so many locations outside for amazing wedding pictures. Our ceremony was held in the Boxwood Garden which is a charming outdoor site that really required very little in the way of extra decor and photographed beautifully. After the ceremony we had a small family dinner at the Inn's chefs table - a private room available for small dinner parties. Our guests ordered off the dining room menu and everyone was very happy with their choices. The chef was also able to accommodate our vegan guests with several courses that were not on the menu. For any wine lovers out there... You will be very happy with the wine selection at the Inn!! We stayed at the butler's cottage on our wedding night which is a charmingly decorated suite which flawlessly combines historical decor with modern amenities. They live overseas, and several of our guests were traveling from all over the world and the country. The Inn was the first place we considered when searching for a venue and we didn't look much farther. It was, is the perfect place for a wedding. Gabrielle is the jewel in the crown of this amazing place. The entire staff will do whatever it takes to make each of their guests happy and cared for. From the moment we booked with Gabrielle she was so helpful and fun to work with. Even the tasting was a real treat. Once the weekend was upon us, we arrived on Friday for the rehearsal and dinner in the Hall. The kitchen was able to accommodate our special request for Swedish specialty dishes and they did a superb job with every course. The wedding day itself was just what we wanted. All our plans, our vision for the day were realized with the help of Gabrielle at every turn. Having the lovely ceremony site, the cocktail hour on the patio, then a nice walk thru the beautiful gardens to the barn and ruins for dinner and dancing was just enchanting. The food was excellent as was the service. We also had a wonderful brunch the next morning back in the Hall and it was delicious and splendid way to wrap up the weekend, allowing for one last visit with all our family and friends who had traveled so far to be with us. Being able to stay on property for the entire weekend we were pampered with lovely coffee and beignets delivered to each room every morning, accommodating our guest with dietary restrictions for each meal, and the restaurant and pub open for continued libations and fun made for the most memorable weekend we could possibly hope for. We had a Friday night Welcome Reception In the Hall and the Courtyard outside the Hall where the fire pit is located. I gave a 4 out of 5 rating, only because we had some miscommunications with the staff at the Inn which resulted in some logistical challenges. Originally my wedding was double booked - but that was caught almost immediately after signing the contract, but I picked the site based on the date available. Regardless, I'd fallen in love with the Inn so I accepted the later date which meant that my wedding would be 6 weeks later in the fall, now winter and would be outside in a tent. A lot to change about the wedding I had originally planned. There were some coordination challenges around that as the coordinator I was working with transition out and a new coordinator arrived. We had a few hiccups my wedding weekend because not all those logistics from the transition were worked out. I believe it had to do with the staff turn over and my situation was situation specific. But I would just be very detailed about your expectations for your wedding and the logistics the day of (flow, food, timing, set up). I was an event planner for 10 years and it should have been much smoother than it was. The venue itself was impeccable, the views are spectacular, the staff was amazing, and as long as the logistics are worked out it is certainly worth the money and the top choice to have your wedding! Anonymous (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-07-2017 We were married on May 7, 2016 and our guests were blown away. The staff at the Inn ensures that everything is high-end and provides the best service from start to finish. One of the biggest reasons we chose this beautiful location in the hills of the bill ridge mountains is because of the outstanding food. People often go to weddings expecting to tolerate the food, but not at our wedding! Not only were we able to offer 4 options including the vegetarian choice, but people were actually talking about how great the food was and that never happens at a wedding. The facilities and design of the grounds of the Inn are perfect for a wedding that provides you with a variety of venue options but still feels intimate and unique. We had our ceremony in the boxwood garden, our cocktail hour on the patio, the dinner in the barn which is actually an upscale carpeted room with a fireplace, and the dancing and desert in the tent where the band \"Attraction\" rocked everyone into the night. Gabrielle helped us select the right vendors to give us the exact feel we wanted. She is incredibly talented and knows her stuff. She is available by email as needed which I found incredibly helpful as a full-time professional working and planning. You don't have to work very hard to track down the florist, transportation, decor, or officiants - Gabrielle has worked with all of the best in the area and will help you get exactly what you need. In addition to the wedding/events specific spaces, the Inn is a hidden gem in central Virginia. We have been staying there for years, enjoying the excellent suites. Each suite has been updated with amazing amenities like heated bathroom floors, private porch space, and the always amazing beignets and french press delivery by the butlers in the morning. People did not want to leave the Inn at Willow Grove after our special weekend! If you're thinking about this venue as a place for any special event - book it asap. We fell in love with the property the first time we saw it and only became fonder of the venue as planning progressed. The Inn grounds are beautifully manicured and each room is impeccably decorated. The food was amazing. The staff were all incredibly warm and went above and beyond to ensure our day was flawless. They couldn't have been more pleasant. Gabrielle, the wedding coordinator, knew all the ins and outs of coordinating such an event and was extremely helpful in preparing and ensuring everything flowed smoothly on the wedding day. This area of Virginia, wine country just north of Charlottesville, is beautiful so we hoped to be married in the Inn's garden. We were lucky and the weather cooperated, but another thing that made this venue so attractive, was the variety of indoor and outdoor space. We had a rehearsal in the garden, rehearsal dinner in an intimate and formal dinning area and cocktails with glowing fire pits on the patio following the dinner. Our wedding party and families were able to stay in the cottages and rooms with us for the weekend. This made for an amazing weekend long celebration, and we were able to enjoy a relaxing central location with no stress of moving around from one venue to the next. There is a Holiday Inn less than a mile down the road, where additional rooms can be blocked off, which was convenient and easy for other guests. My husband and his groomsmen enjoyed a game of golf during the day, while my bridesmaids and I relaxed and enjoyed a light lunch and got ready. We were all able to get ready in my cottage (the Butler's Cottage) and my husband and his groomsmen got ready in my husband and his brother's cottage. The bathrooms at the Inn are spacious and luxurious, with heated floors and towel racks, which provided an excellent primping space. We took some pictures on the gorgeous grounds, had the ceremony in the gardens, cocktail hour on the patio (with lawn games set up), reception in a renovated \"barn\" (it's much nicer than just a barn) and dancing in a tented area immediately next to the barn. The tented area can serve as a back up ceremony location, should it rain, which is comforting. The Inn also has necessary items such as tables, chairs and linens, which adds to the ease of planning. Many of the other local vendors are familiar with the Inn, which also helped with ease of planning. All in all we were pretty darn relaxed and pampered at the Inn. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. We hope to go back for years to come for a romantic getaway on our anniversary. Reviewed on 07-01-2015
Kirsten Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2014 We were so lucky to have found the Inn at Willow Grove for our wedding! From the very second that I opened the Inn's website, I knew this was the place for us. The stars must have been aligned for us since a Fall 2014 date had just opened up, so we immediately scheduled a visit to tour the property. The Inn is a perfect blend of Virginia horse and wine country with a Southern plantation feel, all with a beautiful upscale yet rustic touch. Gabrielle joined the staff at the Inn as the events coordinator a few months later and right away she reached out to introduce herself and make sure everything was on track. She even suggested getting together since she would be in the DC area. It was like having a drink with an old friend - she and I got along so well and had so many things to talk about. Throughout the entire process, Gabrielle was so helpful, always making sure we had thought of every detail. Our tasting was our very favorite part of the planning process - again, it was like hanging out with someone we had known forever! Being a bit of a foodie, I had been impressed with the reviews that I had read early on about the Inn's menus for special events. I was not disappointed - every single thing we tasted was delicious and special, not your typical wedding fare. \r\rOne thing that makes the Inn so special is that you have the entire place to yourself and your guests for the wedding weekend. Our family and friends were so excited to experience the feeling that we had described to them after spending a weekend there - the staff is so attentive, always just making sure you have everything you could possibly want or need. Our guests have been raving ever since, saying that ours was the most personal-feeling wedding that they had been to, and I truly think that was thanks to the Inn and its wonderful staff! We highly recommend this beautiful venue for your wedding (or just a weekend away) and cannot wait to go back next year for our anniversary! Reviewed on 06-11-2014
Allie Thigpen(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2013 Wow. My wife and I couldn't believe how perfect the weekend was and we would not have changed a thing - and we know that everyone at the Inn was a major force in making it happen. Everyone from Stephen taking our friends to Sheetz late night, to Matt (the GM) helping out behind the bar at the reception, to Carlos and Lisa being so friendly and helping out at the late night bar with a smile, was terrific. The family feeling that one gets in staying at the Inn radiates among the staff and is palpable and warming. The excitement everyone working there had for the festivities was infectious and refreshing. We really felt that everyone was wishing us well, enjoying themselves, and willing to help whenever they were asked. It was truly a blessing to have Alice (the coordinator) and the Inn as part of our wedding celebrations! \rIf you want a family run place with a 5 star hotel feel, food that could be a hit anywhere in the world, the perfect mix of a historic colonial-era building and modern amenities, all wrapped up in a beautiful setting, Willow Grove is your place.\rJust go for lunch or dinner at Vintage to get a feel for the place....you won't be disappointed!
