We loved getting married here! It was perfect and everyone was very nice. Reviewed on 30-08-2023
Abigail Coats(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-04-2021 This venue was PERFECT for our special day. My new husband and I wanted a rustic wedding (both from Texas & moved to Kentucky 1 year ago) and we thought the white barn look was perfect! Inside was GORGEOUS. Saybyn was so accommodating especially we had to postpone our wedding & we were lucky to have our wedding the 2nd attempt due to COVID-19. The wedding turned out absolutely beautiful, the twinkling lights & chandeliers inside made our wedding feel more elegant. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone wanting a rustic wedding! Rachael Hill(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-07-2018 First of all, this venue is absolutely gorgeous and it’s the perfect place for a wedding with a beautiful house that can be rented out right next door, cottages for guests, bride and grooms suites big enough for whatever you may need them for, and picturesque grounds that make your wedding look even better than you could imagine. The staff are an absolute pleasure to work with and super easy to communicate with. They were readily available for any day-of questions. I had heard rumors about it being difficult to get your deposit back, but as long as you leave it how you found it (take pictures and write notes), then you should be fine! We got ours back!I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for something with character and something that barely requires any decorations with it already being so beautiful. Katie Carrico(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-05-2018 Brittany was awesome to work with! If I ever had a question, I got a super quick reply. The barn basically decorated itself so having to decorate the morning of was no big deal. The little cottages were fantastic to get ready in. It rained all day of our wedding (5-5-18) so we had the ceremony inside. It was still just as stunning as it would have been outside. Highly recommend this venue! Reviewed on 21-05-2018

Shannon O'Shaughnessy(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-12-2016 The venue was gorgeous and we got several compliments on how beautiful it was. The only thing to realize is that you are responsible for everything...decorations, setup, breakdown, providing beverages, finding a caterer, etc. Also, the shuttle service that came recommended was horrific, but The Josephina has since removed them from their recommended vendor list. Over all we were very happy with having our wedding here! Reviewed on 12-12-2016
Jenna VanRooyen(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-07-2016 I want to give an honest review, as my experience was mostly good but I think potential renters need could use this information. A few notes, both good and bad, to anyone looking for a venue- The venue is absolutely gorgeous! Everybody loved the scenery, and not much had to be added to decorate because it was so beautiful. The place is a bit hard to find, some of my guests got lost using GPS and missed the ceremony, even though there were simple directions written on the back of the invite. Make sure to warn your guest to use your directions, and not the GPS directions. There is plenty of parking, and the venue is handicap accessible. There are train tracks nearby- luckily a train did not go by during my ceremony, because the train is LOUD!! Trust me, the person showing us the venue said it would not be a distraction, but it is very loud- so fair warning. Also- the upstairs of the venue gets extremely hot. If you have a summer wedding, try to avoid using the upstairs. I contacted the venue about a week before the wedding voicing my concerns of the heat, and they gave me a very flippant, almost rude reply that the A/C is more than sufficient, but let me tell you now that it is not! I was a bit upset that they were not more helpful and that they had an attitude with me. There is not much insulation, and as soon as dinner was over all of the guests came downstairs where it was much cooler. So, just know that it will be very hot, regardless of what the vendor may tell you. They let you have plenty of time to set up, and we did our own cleaning after the wedding and got our full refund back. Make sure you take pictures though of where everything was before you start setting up so you know how to put everything back at the end of the night. We were very happy about the price, and that we could use our own catering and bartending services, which ended up saving us some money. Reviewed on 08-08-2016
Sarah Baker(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-05-2016 We had our wedding at the Josephina at the beginning of May, and had nothing but compliments on the venue. It really reflected who we are as a couple, and we had free range to do whatever we wanted to the venue and it really just worked so well with what we envisioned our wedding day looking like. The venue itself is a bit pricey if you're having a weekend wedding, especially for only getting the space and tables. But other than that we loved it! Reviewed on 24-05-2016
Anonymous (wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-07-2017 We put a deposit down for my sons wedding. My son is a Marine , we had asked if by chance his departure date was moved if we could get our deposit back, $500.00. We were informed of course we would. One week later we found out that he was leaving earlier than expected. I called and was told no way sorry, could not even speak to the owners. He is a United States Marine, we did not have any say so in his departure but The owners of the Josephina refused to even return our calls. I can not believe how they treated him. I still to date have not heard anything from them. Please do not rent their venue. Reviewed on 10-05-2016
Tori Pridgen(groom)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-12-2015 It's an okay place, but you might as well kiss your $300 security deposit goodbye. If I knew I would have not received it back no matter what I wouldn't have bothered to clean it. I cleaned up the entire place after my wedding and didn't simply put chairs back in their original spot and they kept my entire deposit. I understand if they wanted $100 or something but not to keep the entire amount. To make it better management refuses to return my calls about it. They say it is \"wireless internet\ Reviewed on 13-01-2016
Anonymous (wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-01-2017 The venue is very nice, as long as you don't mind doing everything yourself & losing your $300.00 deposit. It's sad when the wedding party has to stay after the wedding to clean up. They even do things that aren't listed on the contract, but still lose their deposit. I sing at weddings, & know quite a few couples looking at venues, &. Have discouraged them from this one due to the rude & unreliable management. Just read the reviews to see how many lost deposits there has been, & mostly for the same reason of table & chairs not put back in the proper place. Do yourself a favor & skip this headache! Sarah Baumann(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-07-2015 We had our wedding at the Josephina on July 2, 2015. It is a beautiful venue if you're looking for a rustic setting. We had anticipated using the outdoor space for the wedding ceremony then moving inside for the reception. Mother Nature had other plans that day. Luckily we were able to move our ceremony inside with ease. We had our guests stand upstairs along the railings and we did our ceremony in front of the doors on the bottom level. It really made for a unique feel. The only downside to choosing this venue is that the couple is required to do all of the planning and setup. Luckily I am an organized person and Pinterest is a lifesaver. We were able to keep our wedding in a reasonable budget because we could bring in our own vendors for everything. We also booked a Thursday night wedding leading into the July 4th weekend, which helped us save some money. Another benefit to doing a Thursday wedding was that nobody had booked it for the Wednesday night before so we were able to get in for a rehearsal and setup on Wednesday night. You wouldn't likely have that option if you have a weekend wedding. I will add that we only used the downstairs portion to seat our guests, so I cannot speak to using the upstairs and the air conditioning situation up there. Our day was perfect! The Josephina is beautiful in person and in photographs. The girls who work for the Josephina are easy to work with and are very flexible. I am glad we chose the Josephina! Reviewed on 11-08-2015
K Helm(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-05-2015 Once I saw the Josephina, I booked it as quickly as I could. After looking at a million venues with a million rules (a short list of who can cater; rules about the bar; rules about times you can come and go, etc.), I was so happy to find the Josephina, which is the complete opposite. You choose those details for yourself to make your wedding the way you want it. It is more of a DIY effort, so you'll want to have a trusted friend or wedding coordinator help you with the day-of details, but it's such a beautiful and laid-back location. All of my guests loved it!\r\rMy only words of caution are that because it's a newer venue, they seem to be making changes frequently. Make sure you ask about any decor changes that will happen before your wedding. Additionally, our wedding was over Memorial Day weekend and while we had the a/c on blast and lots of extra fans upstairs, our guests were all very hot sitting upstairs. Luckily the weather was good so people could mingle outside and get some fresh air, but I would not book this for a July or August wedding unless your party is smaller and you can seat everyone downstairs (or add a tent outside for extra seating). \r\rOverall - fantastic location that allows you to have the wedding you want, not that venue managers think you should!
