Since our wedding, we occasionally discuss what, if anything, we would do differently if we were to do it again. One thing that never gets questioned, is if we would use the Lake House again. The whole team there was fantastic from start to finish. They allowed us to customize down to the smallest detail on whatever we wanted, while also offering spectacular pre-built packages that we could take and adapt into our reception. This flexibility, and the stress relief it offered, cannot be understated. Not only was the planning easy and fun with them, but their execution of our wedding day was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of like royalty. The food was exquisite, the views were breathtaking, we really could not have asked for more. We wholeheartedly recommend the Lake House, and hope your event with them is as magical as ours was.

The Lake House was a dream! It was the first and only wedding venue we toured, and after that tour, we knew it was the one. With its newly renovated space, and beautiful outdoor scenery, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to start our next chapter here as husband and wife. Paul and Carole are amazing to work with and truly make the wedding planning process easy and exciting. Plus, they were so accommodating with all of my requests. Over the course of our whole day, Paul and Carole were there to guide us through every step. One year later, we continue to receive compliments from our wedding guests about what an incredible night they had at this venue with such great food and service. Our day was as perfect as we could have pictured it, and we can't thank the Lake House staff enough for everything they've done to give us these wonderful memories!

We got married at The Lake House on Saturday, June 10, 2023 and were VERY happy with our choice of venue! Our guests did not stop talking about how pretty the lake and foliage surrounding it were, plus the fountain in the lake (which was newly added just before our wedding). We held our ceremony outdoors in front of the willow tree and our cocktail hour split between the parlor room and the lakefront, and all our outdoor photos were stunning. One of the main reasons we picked The Lake House was because we didn’t have to decide until day-of where on the property we wanted our ceremony to be, so we were able to make a last minute call based on the weather. We lucked out on getting to go with the outdoor option, but unfortunately the way our ceremony was set up, all the photos of us walking down the aisle have cars in the parking lot in the background (there were no cars in the parking lot when we did our tour, so we didn’t even think about this in advance). This is just a note for your photographer, or possibly a reason to angle the chairs differently than we did. A solvable issue!The Lake House’s team was very easy to work with leading up to our event and really helped us get excited about the day. They were prompt in responding to our questions, flexible with requests (such as signature drinks, adjusting the start time of our ceremony after booking, and allowing us to bring in almost any decor we wanted), and clearly experienced in wedding planning/execution. Two additional things that made The Lake House stand out to us were the fact that they had 2 bridal suites, which is hard to find but important for us as an LGTBQ+ couple with 2 brides, and a really high-quality speaker system that our DJ was able to plug into (for a fee).One challenge we had was that despite providing an extremely detailed map of where we wanted our decor set up and going over it during an in-person meeting with the coordinators just 2 days before our wedding when we dropped it all off, the decor was not set up as we asked it to be when we arrived day-of. We were only allowed to arrive 1.5 hours in advance of our ceremony, so this was stressful, since we and our immediate family members had to run around adjusting things before guests arrived. At the end of the night, the staff did not provide much help packing things up either. We would recommend hiring a day-of coordinator rather than just relying on their staff, specifically for setup and breakdown.The only other complaint we had was that dinner service was incredibly slow. Everyone at a given table was served at the same time, but half of the room was finished with their meals before the other half was served. This caused our post-dinner activities to be extremely delayed, and we ended up paying our photographer, videographer, and DJ extra cash on the spot to stay longer than they had signed up for. The food was good, though, and dessert was even better! We added the adult ice cream sundae bar as a second dessert option, and it was a big hit.One last thing of note is that the venue is entirely handicap accessible and has plenty of parking, two things that were important to us and not true of all the other venues we considered. Overall, we would highly recommend The Lake House as a wedding venue with some proactive planning around the concerns we listed above. We had an incredible day!

We got married here on October 15, 2023. We cannot say enough good things about the venue and the staff here. Paul is amazing- he has such attention to detail and a great personality that makes this stressful day, so much fun! The other staff were great with setting up everything to make my dream come to life. The food was to die for- all of our guests couldn’t stop raving about the hors d’oeuvres. Not to mention, the beautiful scenery of the colorful leaves and lake. We are sooo happy we chose the Lake House in Wolcott for the most special day of our lives!

We got married here on October 15, 2023. We cannot say enough good things about the venue and the staff here. Paul is amazing- he has such attention to detail and a great personality that makes this stressful day, so much fun! Our daughter was married at the Lake House in Wolcott, CT on September, 23, 2023 and we can not say enough about the clean, organized, friendly and professional atmosphere at this venue. The owner, Paul, their wedding planners and the rest of their staff made us feel as though our daughter’s wedding was in the hands of our dearest friends. Everyone at the Lake House will do everything in their power to make your special day an experience of a lifetime. I am so glad that my daughter and her new husband chose this venue for their wedding. The wedding was beautiful and everything ran like clockwork, they definitely exceeded our expectations! Our guests continue to comment on the outstanding food and how impressed they were with all aspects of this venue. Our daughter was married at the Lake House in Wolcott, CT on September, 23, 2023 and we can not say enough about the clean, organized, friendly and professional atmosphere at this venue. The Lake House was incredible. It was the first venue my husband and I visited and it was a very clear choice for us. The venue is beautiful, clean, and modern. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the staff were kind and attentive. Both Paul and Carole worked so hard to ensure our day was perfect. The food was amazing especially the cocktail hour. The only thing I did not love was the in house DJ. I would recommend anyone to find an outside DJ. Other than that, 5 stars the venue is truly amazing.

The Lake House was incredible. It was the first venue my husband and I visited and it was a very clear choice for us. The venue is beautiful, clean, and modern. From the first discussion to the last moment of our reception, the only thing we had to say was...phenomenal! My husband and I felt that we were treated like royalty (honestly). From the rehearsal to our wedding day, Paul, Carole, and the staff were nothing but amazing. Staff made sure we ate, were there and involved, but never in the way. The food is delicious and beautifully presented and impressive. Our friends are still sending us messages about how fantastic everything was. There were plenty of options for gluten free and vegetarian meals. Everyone just made you feel special and were all so respectful. It was a sweet surprise at the end of the evening to have freshly baked cookies and juice available as guests left. Paul and his staff are experienced and I cannot say enough good things about The Lake House. I would highly recommend them!!!

How do I begin to write a review that I cannot even begin to put into words?? From beginning to the very end, the staff could not be more professional and accommodating. The were quick, professional and perceived every need. The food... oh goodness...outstanding, delicious and bountiful. For my daughter's wedding shower, I was concerned that there would not be enough time for the mimosas before we switched to white and red wine. The drinks kept coming and everyone had more than enough. The location is so beautiful. Tables were set up out doors by the lake if the guests wanted to enjoy sitting in fresh air before the food started to flow. The owner Paul, along with Carole, the coordinator, were so kind, making sure that my every request was followed even after I through in some changes on the very day. The guests could not stop raving, saying that the experience was better than many weddings they have been to. Lastly, as guests were exiting, they were treated to juice and freshly baked cookies upon exiting. Suffice to say I was more than pleased and thrilled. Thank you Lake House. You made one mother of the bride, proud and oh so very happy!!!

My husband and I fell in love with the Lake House on our tour and knew this was our venue. Got married here on 10/14/22 and it was honestly perfect! From my first conversation with Paul to coordinating with Carole, everything went smoothly. They added their own touch in several ways from the decorations to the cookies served at the end. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection (I have an Italian family so they are huge food critics). Highly recommend this place!

Our Wedding venue could not have been any better! I am so impressed with the service, the food, and the overall atmosphere! It ended up being a beautiful night, so the ceremony was outside and it was just perfect! Many of my guests said that the food at the lake house was the best food they have ever had at a wedding, and they loved how clean and kept up the venue felt. When I look back at my wedding day and venue I feel nothing but positive memories and emotions! I wish I could get married again just to have it at The Lake House. I highly recommend this venue!

Our Wedding venue could not have been any better! I am so impressed with the service, the food, and the overall atmosphere! It ended up being a beautiful night, so the ceremony was outside and it was just perfect! Many of my guests said that the food at the lake house was the best food they have ever had at a wedding, and they loved how clean and kept up the venue felt. When I look back at my wedding day and venue I feel nothing but positive memories and emotions! I wish I could get married again just to have it at The Lake House. I highly recommend this venue!

We found the Lake House and immediately went for a tour. Everyone here makes you feel so at home and special. From the owner to the banquet manager to the staff, not a single detail was left out from our wedding day. They worked with us to make our day truly special. This is a hidden gem of a place, literally! We couldn’t have been more happy with our experience here.

I cannot say enough good things about Paul, Carole & the entire Lake House team. They made planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic seem easy. They didn't even bat an eyelash when we asked to have a horse & carriage drive on their back lawn, they even worked out the key details with the carriage company & surprised my husband & I having the horse come back around to pick us up or a grand exit from the ceremony. We had a medical emergency during our reception which they handled with extreme professionalism. They helped get the event back on track and were just outstanding.They were absolutely amazing and I would 100% recommend hosting your event here.

If you are considering having your wedding (or other event) at The Lake House, my sincere recommendation is do it!! I had my wedding here a few weeks ago and Paul and his team were phenomenal! The attention they gave to us was simply like no other. Paul himself was present for every meeting and super easy to get ahold of by email or phone. He gave us TONS of options of how we wanted to lay out the ceremony and reception. When we originally wanted everything outdoors with a tent, that was no problem. When we changed our minds and wanted to move the reception inside a week before, that was no problem. When we then saw snow in the forecast and needed to move the ceremony inside the day before, that again was no problem. Paul and his team worked with all my vendors to be sure our day was perfect. Paul is so genuine and cared deeply about us as people and about how he could make our covid wedding, the wedding we dreamed of. The venue is beautiful (especially on a fall day with foliage and snow) and offers so may options for photos. We had the whole venue to ourselves the day of the wedding, so the attention of the staff was solely on us. The food was incredible and presented in such a beautiful way! All our guests had such a great time, felt perfectly comfortable even in covid times and still cannot stop saying how great the wedding was and how much fun they had. I could go on and on about how much we loved our wedding at The Lake House and how incredible the staff was. If you are considering having your wedding (or other event) at The Lake House, my sincere recommendation is do it!! I had my wedding here a few weeks ago and Paul and his team were phenomenal! The attention they gave to us was simply like no other. Paul himself was present for every meeting and super easy to get ahold of by email or phone. He gave us TONS of options of how we wanted to lay out the ceremony and reception. When we originally wanted everything outdoors with a tent, that was no problem. When we changed our minds and wanted to move the reception inside a week before, that was no problem. When we then saw snow in the forecast and needed to move the ceremony inside the day before, that again was no problem. Paul and his team worked with all my vendors to be sure our day was perfect. Paul is so genuine and cared deeply about us as people and about how he could make our covid wedding, the wedding we dreamed of. The venue is beautiful (especially on a fall day with foliage and snow) and offers so may options for photos. We had the whole venue to ourselves the day of the wedding, so the attention of the staff was solely on us. The food was incredible and presented in such a beautiful way! Kelli was amazing and quick to respond if I had any questions or last minute changes leading up to the wedding. Paul, Kelli, and The Lake House staff were extremely attentive to our guests and the bridal party they helped make our wedding day the best day of my life. Many of our guests expressed how amazed they were about how beautiful the venue was. We had our reception out in the meadows and it was a gorgeous day with the perfect background of the lake. Another huge part that made our day perfect was the food. The food was delicious and people are STILL talking about the food and how great it was! No Stars: It may be a truly beautiful location; however, the beauty of someone's character as a person and as a business is much more important when providing your trust in creating the most magical wedding day!Please know through our interactions with this business (e.g., Kellie) we feel they are simply sales people and have little to no regard for MANY lives they displaced through their inability to complete the contracts as promised and remediate losses as they communicated as part of their prior experiences.Working with this business turned out to be the worst experience we have ever had as our wedding was cancelled nearly 2-3 weeks prior to the big day (still attempting to be dragged along that they \"might\" be able to open by the day before, yet they opened somewhere around 6-8 months later). We truly believe that if we had not gone out to visit the site and, we wouldn't have gotten notification of the \"delay\" until even closer to the wedding date. When we first met and learned about the history of the construction, we were promised that all parties were cared for and remediated for losses (not just refunded their deposit). When we tried to obtain our losses as they had previously promised when we interviewed with them initially and through communications, they denied us instantly and didn't even offer something as simple as postage and invitations that we all know can be quite costly and that they previously told us is how they went above and beyond to remediate with their other customers. We cannot thank Kelli and The Lake House Staff enough for all of their work in making our wedding day so special! Our day was everything we could have dreamed it would be and more. Kelli was a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. While we were planning our wedding from out of state, Kelli was extremely accommodating, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our two bridal attendants checked in with us throughout the day to make sure we had everything we needed. The venue is beautiful and was extremely cozy for our November wedding. The food was absolutely incredible. Our guests were extremely impressed with the selection variety. Some favorites included mini lobster rolls and mini reubens! Our bridal attendants brought out trays of hors d’oeuvres for us all to enjoy while we took pictures outside during cocktail hour. Dinners were delicious! Many of our guests said it was the best food that they’ve had at a wedding. At the end of the night, Kelli and her staff had all of our cars ready and packed with all of our decorations and flowers. They even handed out little treats for our guests to enjoy as they were leaving. Thank you Kelli for making our wedding day perfect and completely stress-free!

THEE BEST DAY EVER!!! Truly I mean every word. If I could give The Lake House 10 stars I would! Kelli and all the Lake House Staff were beyond my expectations and made the entire wedding planning process stress free! We saw this venue through all the stages beginning to end and never doubted their success. Kelli set everything up for the wedding perfectly. She addressed all our needs and made sure we had everything we wanted. I felt like we became family while we were working with them always positive and honest with us. The whole day was wonderful, even though it rained in the morning, she ensured I had the outdoor wedding I hoped for and had. There are bridal attendants that are constantly checking in making sure every need is met! The food is absolutely to die for and everyone raves about the food to this day! The cocktail hour was fantastic and we LOVED the rolling carts! The Italian Meats and Savory Cupcakes were both the biggest hits! Dinner was also wonderful and everyone left with happy bellies. The drinks/bartenders didn't disappoint our guests either. I can honestly say the day went so smooth you'd never know the venue opened 6 months before our big day. Everyone working for this venue is beyond thoughtful and some of the hardest working people I've met. They packed up every last decoration/flowers we had and loaded them in our vehicles. Everyone was such a pleasure to work with. If I can sum up my experience with The Lake House is great food, staff and management. You won't be disappointed booking here. I'm so sad to not see Kelli and the venue but hoping to be invited to a wedding here in the near future! All your guests will be complimenting the wedding you have at The Lake House. I truly believe it's a hidden gem! I hope to hold other lifetime events here in the near future. Cons: occasionally they were unresponsive or slow to address questions and concerns that arose and my wife was frustrated when they called her several times on the wedding day to resolve minor issues that we both felt they could've handled on their own. Incredible! Kevin and I cannot thank Kelli, Paul and The Lake House staff enough for all of their hard work in making our day absolutely perfect! We didn't have to worry about a single thing; every detail was handled by The Lake House so if there were any problems, we (the bride and groom) never heard or worried about it. The staff even cleaned up all of my decorations and loaded them into our cars so we wouldn't have to work. I know past reviews during the renovation phase are not great, and we were, admittedly, also really nervous when we decided to book this past January. We visited Paul and Kelli at the venue each time a payment was due to check on progress and to catch up--they are really great to talk to! Honestly, they help to put our minds at ease and reviews started coming in about the food (it really is AMAZING). Everyone I spoke to about my wedding raved about the food and staff, and obviously the gorgeous venue itself! The worst part about the wedding being over is that we won't see Paul and Kelli on a regular basis--I was serious when I said they're awesome to talk with. I highly recommend The Lake House, and I'm hoping to be invited to a wedding here just so we can experience this amazing venue again!

Incredible! Kevin and I cannot thank Kelli, Paul and The Lake House staff enough for all of their hard work in making our day absolutely perfect! We didn't have to worry about a single thing; every detail was handled by The Lake House so if there were any problems, we (the bride and groom) never heard or worried about it. The staff even cleaned up all of my decorations and loaded them into our cars so we wouldn't have to work. I know past reviews during the renovation phase are not great, and we were, admittedly, also really nervous when we decided to book this past January. We visited Paul and Kelli at the venue each time a payment was due to check on progress and to catch up--they are really great to talk to! Honestly, they help to put our minds at ease and reviews started coming in about the food (it really is AMAZING). Everyone I spoke to about my wedding raved about the food and staff, and obviously the gorgeous venue itself! The worst part about the wedding being over is that we won't see Paul and Kelli on a regular basis--I was serious when I said they're awesome to talk with. I highly recommend The Lake House, and I'm hoping to be invited to a wedding here just so we can experience this amazing venue again!

My recent wedding at The Lake House went off without a hitch! Kelly, Paul, Rusty, and the rest of the staff members could not have been more accommodating and helped the day run smoothly, even going above and beyond by baking a special cake for my grandmothers 101 birthday, which we celebrated together at the wedding! The beautiful, rustic building with lake view and the menu was superb with many of our guests saying it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Kelly and Paul worked closely with us throughout the entire planning process and they certainly delivered! A beautiful venue with an amazing lake view and gourmet food- there is no doubt in my mind that The Lake House is destined to become one of the premier wedding venues in CT. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much Kelly and Paul for all of your help in making our wedding day stress-free and memorable!

Yes there were a lot of delays in opening this venue. Yes it was very stressful. But they are now open and in the end, we had a beautiful and wonderful experience at the Lake House (phew!).The food was incredible. So many compliments on the appetizers especially. Passed appetizers (eight passed varieties along with a full cheese/veggie/cracker station), but there was always someone waiting to offer them to you! Great variety to choose from or create your own. We had three choices for dinner (filet, salmon, and chicken) and all were delicious. They customized the menu to be gluten free. They will make just about anything you want and have many, many choices for add-ons. The waitstaff is a bit inexperienced, but that will surely improve with each event. The setting is beautiful (covered outdoor patio overlooking the lake), the people are nice, and I expect this will be a premiere wedding spot for years to come!

Do not waste your money at this venue. Like so many others we had a HORRIBLE experience booking with The Lake House. We fell in love with the sketches and Kelli's words and quickly signed a contract for July 2018. We were told they would be done in March 2017 and the first wedding would be in May. When my fiance and I arrived in May it was not even close to being done and they made no mention of the weddings being cancelled or postponed. We NEVER received any updates or were told there were delays in building. We based everything off of the one picture we were shown and when we arrived I pointed out to Kelli that already there were elements from the pictures missing on the actual building. She pretended she didn't notice and gave us a shrugged response of \"oh I guess they changed their minds.\" This was not acceptable especially since we were again, not notified! When a month later no more progress had been made we realized we had to move on. The majority of our guests were coming from overseas and had started to book flights for our date and we couldn't risk them coming over for a wedding where the venue was not completed. When we asked for our money back (since we consider it breaking contract when you lie about timelines, aesthetics, and don't update your customers) they were incredibly rude. Kelli responded with more lies about how my parents had been over an hour late to their initial appointment (even though they have TIME STAMPED pictures on their phones from that appointment that clearly show they were on time), about how she had to go out of her way to accommodate my handicapped mother, and how if we continued to pursue getting our deposit back in other ways they would use legal force against us. It was by far the most HORRIFIC experience, especially when your wedding is supposed to be the happiest time of your life and they made the start stressful and miserable. Even though it is finally completed, I would not waste your time or money with these people. They lie and only care about money, not their customers. I wish I could give zero stars.

We just got married at The Lake House in April 2018. We chose this venue over a year before our wedding when the building was nothing but studs. I first fell in love with the menu because it was so unique compared to most wedding venues. We were also drawn to the lake on property. Throughout the planning process, there were some times that we were not totally confident that that building would be finished in time. We had meetings that were cancelled, and emails not always returned in a timely manner. We were hoping for an outdoor ceremony, but the landscaping was not finished for our wedding and the ground was too soft so that was not able to happen (the only reason I am not giving 5 stars). However, now that the building is finished and operational I have full confidence that TLH will continue to be a fantastic wedding venue. As far as the actual wedding day: We were the 3rd wedding at the venue, but you would have never known that. Kelly and Paul were extremely accommodating. We were able to switch out some of the beers to something that better suited our (and our guests') tastes. We had a few children attend the wedding and the chef was able to accommodate them as well. There were so many unique touches to the level of service at TLH. Guests were served wine/bellinis upon arrival, and during dinner each table had their own server. As our guests were leaving, they were also given coffee and chocolate covered pretzels (not something we had planned, but everyone loved!) Our guests are still raving about the food and overall level of service provided at our wedding. We are hoping that we get to attend a wedding at TLH so we can enjoy it from the other side!

Immediately, I was impressed with the layout of the venue (the blueprints were displayed), array of options, and beautiful scenic photos of the property. I went through the entire expo and decided to go back to speak with her again. Although my now husband wasn't there I knew he would love it just as much as I did. When I got home I couldn't stop talking about how much I wanted to go visit. Within the week we had an appointment to visit The Lake House. Needless to say we chose to host our wedding, on May 26, at TLH. Everything was supurb! From the wine in the bridal suites when we arrived, to the stunning outdoor ceremony, and of course the outstanding food (which was all the rave amongst guests). The owners of TLH made the entire process simple and enjoyable. Our wedding day was flawless. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We truly hope to attend future events there and highly recommend TLH.

Like many other couples, my fiance and I have had a bad experience with this venue.My fiance and I fell in love with the Lake House and signed a contract to be married August of 2018. Kelli and Paul were very nice and did a great job painting a beautiful picture of what our wedding would look like. We signed our contract in April with the expectation that the facility would be open in June 2017. They had their first wedding booked for then. The facility was still not ready, and the new expectation was that the venue would be open in the fall. They said they had other weddings booked for then. Again, the venue was still not ready. I feel so bad for all the couples who had to move or cancel their weddings last minute! We contacted the Lake House concerned and visited October 29th. We were told that the Lake House had holiday parties booked in December and everything but the chairs and chandelier would be finished in three weeks. We scheduled a follow-up meeting for November 19th, only to receive a request to push the date back with the promise that things would be ready then. The new date was December 2nd. We visited the facility and a lot was still not done. I asked Kelli why there were no holiday parties and was told that they wanted to train their staff, completely ignoring the fact that the facility is still not ready.I have two photos of the women’s bathroom. One was taken October 29th and the other December 2nd--still not done, looked the same. We were forced to cancel our wedding with the Lake House and book with a new place that is fully functional. My fiance and I decided that we did not need the additional stress of whether our venue would be ready and being strung along. If they couldn't manage our expectations before our wedding, I can't imagine what they'd be like running our wedding. Abysmal customer service. Do not book with this venue! Unless they change owners, it is not worth the additional stress!

Another year, another set of canceled weddings. I would like to think they genuinely cared, that things were beyond their control this time around. But it is so hard to believe. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.The Lake House has some potential, but buyer beware. One day the venue may be good. The grand ballroom, the ceremony in front of the willow tree, the covered patio. It is all there, but all nowhere. For once again, none of it yet exists. We heard from multiple vendors that many unfortunate couples were strung along, each getting their own special excuse of how unforeseen events caused an unescapable issue. Did the Lake House not get tired of these lies?To book weddings two years in a row and come up empty to me shows a true failure to manage a business and an even worse failure to care about your clients. I can somewhat get over the many delays and headaches we went through trying to understand what was going on with the venue. But I can’t get over the “stories” we were told and the fabricated timeline. Too many items simply proved to be not true, forcing us to cancel our plans there less than 2 months in advance of our wedding day. God knows how long we would have been strung along until they actually canceled, for the venue was not ready when our big day came.I wish the Lake House the best of luck and for those choosing the venue, a great celebration. But keep in mind what we were sold to what was actually delivered. And keep in mind that we were far from the only ones they did this to. There need be no better proof than this.

The owner Paul was very rude when I contacted him about having my traditional Asian wedding here. He didn't think they were the right fit for us because they host high class events. He was very rude and disrespectful. Shame on them for bad business!

She is extremely knowledgeable and has worked in the CT wedding industry for many years. I can already tell she will be easy to work with as the planning proceeds. The vision for the venue is amazing, and we look forward to following the progress as the construction is completed and the first event is held in the Summer 2017.

It didn't matter to us, we saw the beauty in this venue. After speaking with Kelli, we knew this was our spot. This is not like all of those wedding factory venues that are out there, we saw a lot of these, The Lake house and Kelli really care about making your wedding day special and perfect. I couldn't be happier with our decision. Don't go on all of these negative reviews. See it for yourself, you wont be disappointed.

What a disappointment!! I was so excited to book with the lake house based on the information we received and how beautiful the venue was going to be until our wedding was canceled. I booked with the Lake house in January for a wedding in Oct 2016. Our wedding was canceled because they hadn’t even started construction. They gave so many promises and assured my fiancé and I the venue would be ready on time. Within that time we received no updates or communication that there was a problem until we drove by the venue and saw nothing…no construction had been started! My fiancé contacted the General Manager and she told us it would be ready by the end of August but we were skeptical so my fiancé ask for updates the following week on construction which we did not get.... 3 weeks later my fiancé called again and we were finally told the lake house would not be ready for our October wedding. It also took the lake house nearly 1 MONTH to give us our deposit back. I would not recommend any bride to book with this venue until they are fully functioning...

What a disappointment!! I was so excited to book with the lake house based on the information we received and how beautiful the venue was going to be until our wedding was canceled. I booked with the Lake house in January for a wedding in Oct 2016. Our wedding was canceled because they hadn’t even started construction. They gave so many promises and assured my fiancé and I the venue would be ready on time. Within that time we received no updates or communication that there was a problem until we drove by the venue and saw nothing…no construction had been started! My fiancé contacted the General Manager and she told us it would be ready by the end of August but we were skeptical so my fiancé ask for updates the following week on construction which we did not get.... 3 weeks later my fiancé called again and we were finally told the lake house would not be ready for our October wedding. It also took the lake house nearly 1 MONTH to give us our deposit back. I would not recommend any bride to book with this venue until they are fully functioning...

I would like to share my experience with The Lake House and Kelli as my wedding also had to be cancelled. While I was disappointed, I felt the Lake House was upfront with me and my fiance . The general manager, Kelli went above and beyond helping me find a new venue. My deposit was refunded promptly and she apologized. My father is in construction so I am aware that things like happen especially with a new building. I am sorry others felt the need to bash this venue, , but I really felt they did the best they could. Kelli returned all my calls and emails and I never had an issue with her contacting me. Kelli has great ideas and has given me some wonderful suggestions for my future wedding and she didn't have to do that. Kelli and The Lake House I feel were very professional in how they handled this unfortunate situation and I look forward to seeing what they have to offer in the future.

Where do I start! At SOME point this place may be the ideal destination they sell it as, but in life it is what you deliver and not promise that counts. They are AWFUL at delivering. We booked the venue in January and they were to break ground FEB 1. They took our $2000 with no issues and said not to worry they were experts and this would be done well before our date. I was VERY nervous about unexpected issues that can happen with a new building and pushed them to move the date to October JUST IN CASE. They allowed us to do this, but it didn't help. I asked Kelli for the critical dates of the build and she said that was a good question and she would get it from her contractor. She's the GM mind you overseeing this venue and she didn't have this on hand. Red flag but still went with it as my fiancee fell in love with the picture they were selling. I asked Kelli to keep me up to date and let me know if any issues as I need to find alternatives and the later this goes the more difficult. She said she would check in with me every 2 weeks. She never called or emailed me as to progress. 4 weeks later I drive by and see NO progress (this is now March) and she hasn't called me? I then call her and asked for progress and she said if we want our money back she will refund it. It was so rude to do this in this fashion when all I want to know is if they will deliver and what they are doing to accomplish the goal they promised. She said they just got a permit and would be starting next week. 2 weeks later I call and she then tells me another permit issue and now they might not be complete. I asked WHEN she was going to proactively tell me this. Why I am having to drive by their building and follow up with her on this? I ask her to refund me the deposit. I have relatives flying over seas who have bought their flight so I then have to rush and find an alternative venue on the same date. Very stressful to say the least. 2 weeks go by and I call to find out where my check. She then tells me it is being \"processed\". You are a one man shop...how do you not cut the check you owe me the minute you cannot deliver. I come to find out they have been at bridal shows since 2014 selling this venue! How the hell do you sell a venue you don't even have permits to start construction. We are spending over 30K on 5 hours so you not delivering is a HUGE deal. At some point they may get their permits and act together, but wait for them to finish the building and have a few positive reviews before even thinking of using them. As I told the owner all you have now are promises and a picture of a building. Nobody starts a business saying they are going to be mediocre, but at this point mediocre would an achievement.

I don't see this venue being available in 2016 or 2017 for that matter. Looks like they ran out of money. Please don't waste your time like we did.

Have to say as a first stop on my search for a dream event I was so happy to come across this venue. To find a facility like this in our own backyard is amazing. To hear that the caterer will do all the work on our special day even as small as taking the lead in asking our friends and family what they want to eat when they sit for dinner. The service sounds second only to their creative menu. The grounds and lake are breathtaking. \rKeith and I are so excited to get married here.
