We had our rehearsal dinner at The Landing (upstairs in the event room). It was amazing! Our dinner was about 70 people, then we had everyone else (120+) for a welcome party. Working with The Landing events team was incredibly easy and they were very kind. Our dinner/welcome party had no issues and it was so much fun! Our guests enjoyed all the food & drinks. Would absolutely recommend anyone hosting a party or wedding of any kind check out The Landing!

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Landing (upstairs in the event room). It was amazing! Our dinner was about 70 people, then we had everyone else (120+) for a welcome party. Working with The Landing events team was incredibly easy and they were very kind. Our dinner/welcome party had no issues and it was so much fun! Our guests enjoyed all the food & drinks. Would absolutely recommend anyone hosting a party or wedding of any kind check out The Landing!

My husband and I chose to have our wedding ceremony and reception at The Landing Restaurant. Our wedding was the Thursday night before Labor Day weekend and everything was absolutely perfect! We lucked out and had beautiful weather but still decided to have our ceremony in the Waterfront Room overlooking the harbor. We had 70 people so all of our guests were seated at the tables during the ceremony. We had the tables set up the long way on either side of the center poles with tall taper candles, hurricanes, and bud vases lining the tables. Everything was absolutely beautiful and it was truly the intimate wedding ceremony that I had imagined! The sunset was gorgeous and gave off the most beautiful orange glow throughout the space! The light that streams into the Waterfront Room is to die for! All of our guests told us how much they enjoyed our wedding at The Landing Restaurant! Many of them even said that it was one of their favorite wedding venues that they have ever been to. The new deck that was built on the Wharf side is absolutely perfect for cocktail hour and boat watching. The passed hors d'oeuvres were absolutely delicious! We had Beef Wellington, Rosemary Shrimp Skewers, Chicken Florentine Meatballs, and Bacon Wrapped Scallops. Everyone raved about the food, especially the Filet Mignon with Grilled Shrimp! The Flourless Chocolate Cake was also a huge crowd pleaser! All of the staff was so amazing, friendly, and accommodating throughout the entire evening. Amanda was so great to work with leading up to the wedding and answered every question that I had throughout the process. Our day of coordinator Sarah was an absolute sweetheart and kept everything on schedule for us throughout the night. We paid the extra fee to have everything packed up for us at the end of the night and it was so worth it! We were able to pick up all of our totes the next day and everything was packed so neatly! We can’t say enough good things about The Landing Restaurant and would highly recommend the Waterfront Room to any couple that is looking for a beautiful intimate space for their wedding or rehearsal dinner! We had the BEST experience!

When we booked The Landing we knew the views would be stunning, rain or shine, (drizzled on our day) and that the layout of the venue would be perfect. Hower, what we couldn't have ever imagined was how the ENTIRE staff, from planning to the actual day, would turn our wedding into the most magical and unforgettable evening. Amanda thank you from the bottom of our hearts helping us with every little question we had planning the wedding and always getting back to us incredibly fast. The entire staff on the day of were so nice and actually got to know my family. They all worked very hard and always had a smile on their face. When we were dancing on the dance floor I would look over and see the bar tenders also dancing along serving our family and singing along to the music. The wait staff was so thoughtful! Our photos during cocktail hour took much longer than we had hoped, and we were so bummed we didn't get to try any of the food. However, when we got to our seats there was a small plate with 2 of every appetizer we ordered for us to try and they were delicious! However, the true MVP of the evening was the venues day of coordinator Sarah!!!! She was always checking in with me and my husband letting us know what was coming up next and where everything was, cleaning up after my family or asking us if we needed anything. Now let's talk about the food.... my family is STILL raving about how delicious the food was! My recommendations are the clam chowder, bacon wrapped scallops, beef wellington, crab cakes, filet, and seafood platter. We also had oysters and they were a HUGE hit!!! Another memory I will always have, was when we were entering the venue and the bar down below all started screaming and wishing us congratulations! The DJ that was playing below even got on the mic and said \"Let's here it for the bride and the groom.\" Another great thing to share is that we never heard the music or the loud crowd from the bar below once during the wedding. The Landing did a great job keeping our event completely private. We knew our wedding would be one of the best days of our lives but The Landing really made it unforgettable with the stunning views and outdoor patio combined with the best staff a bride could ask for! We are still on cloud 9 from this day and if you are thinking of booking this venue don't think anymore... DO IT!!!!!

My husband and I did our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding and I can't recommend it enough. Great bar and wait staff the day of and the coordinator we were in contact with for about a year leading up was very quick with any questions we had, very polite & set up the room beautifully! If you're doing a Newport wedding I wouldn't hesitate to check out having your rehearsal dinner here. And the sunset during dinner hours is beautiful!

My husband and I did our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding and I can't recommend it enough. Great bar and wait staff the day of and the coordinator we were in contact with for about a year leading up was very quick with any questions we had, very polite & set up the room beautifully! If you're doing a Newport wedding I wouldn't hesitate to check out having your rehearsal dinner here. And the sunset during dinner hours is beautiful!

We held a 45 person ceremony & reception at The Landing and could not recommend it more! From the moment we toured the venue to picking up our decorations the day after the wedding everything went so smoothly and the communication with Amanda and Sarah could not have been better. The venue itself is gorgeous and the food was excellent! So glad we chose this place.

We held a 45 person ceremony & reception at The Landing and could not recommend it more! From the moment we toured the venue to picking up our decorations the day after the wedding everything went so smoothly and the communication with Amanda and Sarah could not have been better. The venue itself is gorgeous and the food was excellent! So glad we chose this place.

We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Drinks at The Landing, and it was the perfect place to kick off our wedding weekend! Guest raved about the gorgeous sunset view, the food was delicious, and the staff was all warm and welcoming. We gave out our welcome bags at the event (instead of at the hotel), and they were very helpful in setting up a table for our bags. They also made signs outside to let our guests know they were in the right place! The only downside to events at The Landing is that the room is not handicap accessible, so keep that in mind if you have guests who need elevators. We will definitely be back in the future!

I cannot say enough about The Landing--I held both my wedding reception and post wedding brunch here and everything about this place is perfect. We booked both events without ever having been to the restaurant because we were drawn to reasonable prices, a variety of menu choices, and it's location. It ended up being the best decision we could have ever made. The location overall is central to the heart of Newport so it was extremely convenient for guests to arrive no matter where they were coming from or heading to. We had guests arrive on foot, via car and via boat! Plus, the sunset alone made it the most picturesque location. The staff here is THE BEST and truly topped off our experience. Communication with Amanda and Sara ahead of our events and even during, was top notch--extremely responsive, friendly, knowledgable, laid back, and organized. They communicated at the appropriate frequency so I never felt overwhelmed, and were professional with the perfect touch of personability. For reception decor, we literally dropped off a box, sent a picture of our vision and it was executed flawlessly. I had so much trust in each and every person I interacted with during this entire process. When we went to pick up our decor, it was packaged beautifully--every fragile item was individually wrapped and clearly treated as if it were their own. Every part of Newport is stunning, but if you're considering The Landing for any of your wedding events, their customer service really sets them apart from any other location. I do wish I had a piece of my wedding cake to take home the next morning, but we were all having such an amazing time that I never sat down to even remember there was cake!

We held our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at the Landing. The staff were very attentive to us and our guests. The service, food and bar service was top notch. The coordinator kept us on schedule and even reminded us when it was time to do speeches, etc. We were also able to invite our guests who were in town to show up after our dinner was served. The location was fantastic, looking out over the water and impressive yachts. We were even rewarded with a breathtaking sunset. It made for such a perfect evening and we couldn't have asked for anything better. Amanda, the event coordinator was pleasant to deal with and made menu accommodations. The menu selection was very vast and was accommodating for all budgets large and small.

I can’t say enough great things about the Landing in Newport, RI. Amanda handled all the arrangements for our son’s rehearsal dinnerwith such professionalism! We were able to set up early and the room was so clean and organized with everything I needed. Prices were very reasonable for Newport! And the view!!! We could not of planned a more magnificent sunset! Sarah was there for the evening and took care of everything we needed. Our experience with The Landing for our August 2022 wedding reception was nothing short of perfection! Sarah, the venues day-of coordinator we worked with, was amazing and a true pro. Not only did she go above and beyond to keep the day running smoothly and looking beautiful, she was the most calming presence to us and checked in on us frequently throughout the reception. The bartenders and servers who worked our reception were so friendly and accommodating and so kind to us and our guests. Amanda, our main point-of-contact, was BEYOND helpful throughout the planning process, especially as we planned our wedding from afar. Even the bouncers and hosting staff were sweet and helpful all night. The food was so delicious and we got so many compliments from our guests. We used DJ Liam Day, who the venue recommended to us, and he kept our guests entertained and dancing all night. We can’t say enough good things about our experience; thank you so much Sarah, Amanda, and everyone at The Landing for making our wedding day the best day of our lives!

We had our welcome party the night before our wedding at The Landing and we are so happy we did! We worked with Amanda throughout the planning process and she made everything so seamless and easy for us, she is a true professional. We had about 100 guests and had a cocktail reception. The food was absolutely delicious (especially the fried oysters!!!) and the ambiance left all our guests raving. The space itself is so beautiful right on the water in downtown Newport, it was such a nice welcome to Newport for our mostly out of town guests. Amanda worked with us regarding the details of our welcome party closely, from creating a menu to offering suggestions for additional decor/table set-up and the details of playing our own music. The venue also provides a person day of (Sarah is who we worked with who was equally wonderful) to help with coordinating the event, checking in on us regularly, assisting with the decor. All of the personnel were so nice and professional and made our guests feel well taken care of. Would recommend The Landing to anyone for any wedding event!

The food was absolutely delicious (especially the fried oysters!!!) and the ambiance left all our guests raving. The space itself is so beautiful right on the water in downtown Newport, it was such a nice welcome to Newport for our mostly out of town guests. Amanda worked with us regarding the details of our welcome party closely, from creating a menu to offering suggestions for additional decor/table set-up and the details of playing our own music. The venue also provides a person day of (Sarah is who we worked with who was equally wonderful) to help with coordinating the event, checking in on us regularly, assisting with the decor. All of the personnel were so nice and professional and made our guests feel well taken care of. Would recommend The Landing to anyone for any wedding event!

My husband dropped off decorations the morning of, the landing had everything set up beautifully and on time, and they packed everything up for us to pick up in the morning. It was so helpful. We did a cocktail hour with passed appetizers and then a sit down dinner. Cocktail hour was perfect, they had champagne ready for the influx of guests as we had asked. The passed appetizers during the cocktail hour worked well and everyone loved exploring the venue and hanging out on the balcony. The dinner was excellent everyone loved their food. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue and location was. Overall the Landing has very reasonable prices, has staff that are great to work with, and a location that can’t be beat.

We hosted a Welcome Reception for 150 out of town guests at The Landing Restaurant the evening before our son's wedding. It was a wonderful choice for us and all of our guests, including many who traveled from the western US and several overseas locations. Everyone loved the setting - it felt like we were on a ship surrounded by water on 3 sides and a view of the bridge which is illuminated at night. We had a calypso band which helped create a joyous celebratory vibe that evening. The food was outstanding - passed appetizers, a buffet later in the evening, with a personalized cake and coffee/tea in addition to an open bar all evening. We had many seafood specialties as part of the evening and many guests from land-locked Colorado particularly enjoyed these offerings. The staff was superb - friendly, competent and handled all requests with great efficiency. The Landing is an outstanding choice in one wants to highlight the beauty of Newport and the wonderful food of this historic town. From start to finish the Landing was the perfect venue for our wedding with 106 guests - from every perspective (space/food/service/etc.) the Landing exceeded my (already high) expectations! Amanda and Briana who coordinate events are a dream team! Amanda is simply amazing at what she does - so patient, prompt and responsive and never missed a beat with months of me peppering with tedious questions. The night of, Briana orchestrated everything seamlessly. The Landing is insanely lucky to have them both! The Landing made our wedding day nothing short of perfect. We (and our guests) had a phenomenal time. The weather forced us inside (originally planned for the deck) - we held the ceremony downstairs - it was the perfect, intimate space - everyone could hear well and most even had a seat. Being admittedly a control freak, I struggled initially with not being able to help be a part of the set up feeling like my decor requests were too specific for someone else to pull off. But the night of - the space looked amazing - Briana & her team nailed it! Speaking of the team - all staff were on point! The food was delicious (a ton of guests came up to me to compliment the food) and the service (servers and bar) impeccable. There is zero I would change, we had such a great time and I'm so so so glad we held our wedding at the Landing!

Amanda and her staff helped to set up all of our Welcome Bags and made the place look absolutely amazing! The food was outstanding and they were open to different ideas to truly make this event fit our style. We were beyond pleased with how the night turned out and can't thank everyone enough! When my husband and I decided to get married after nearly 10 years together, we had this vision of a very intimate city hall ceremony followed by a huge party a few months later. We wanted a setting for the party that was beautiful but also low-key. Because of family connections in Newport and the amount of time we spend there, we knew there had to be a spot that was exactly what we were looking for--and we found it at The Landing. The second floor of The Landing surprised us a bit with its casual elegance; the room was bright and open, with incredible harbor views. For such a popular spot--there was a huge crowd downstairs that day--it still afforded us the kind of intimate setting we had envisioned. If anything, the buzz below around the Wharf only added to the celebratory vibe of the day. The bartenders and servers were efficient and fun, making our guests feel at home. The food was perfect, and they kept the drinks--we had an open bar--aflowing. The Landing's event coordinator Amanda did an incredible job of curating the perfect three-hour experience, helping us figure out our dining plan, our decor, and entertainment. It's a bit of a hidden gem, but it shone brightly that night. We were fortunate to have spectacular weather (especially since it was still April, which can be iffy in New England), and the sunset viewed from the length of the restaurant made all of our photographs even more special. It was exactly what we wanted.

I honestly wish I could add a sixth star. This place is spectacular. Firstly, the event coordinator, Amanda, is exceptional. She is professional, detailed, kind, and so easy to work with. She was helpful from start to finish, and during our rehearsal gave us a lot of options and suggestions based on her experience. She made everything so easy. Secondly, the staff was amazing. I worked in the service industry for decades and was amazed at how unobtrusive and detailed they were. We did the clam bake menu (which, side note, blew our midwest guests away and made for a lot of really great conversation) and the staff seamed to continuously clear our shells without me even noticing; it was like magic! The food was fantastic and the bartender took especially good care of my groom. The space was so gorgeous, our photographer was in love with the light and the views. It was perfect from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this space; everything you need is on site which eliminates a lot of coordinating and stress so you can relax and have a little more fun with the people you love. I am so glad we had our ceremony and reception here. We made many great memories will will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Best Day Ever is an Understatement!The Landing Restaurant was the ideal place for our wedding. Not only is this our favorite place to hang out, eat, and enjoy drinks on a regular basis but, it was the perfect place for us to share our special day with our loved ones. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Landing on May 14, 2016, and I cannot say enough good things!! The location was beautiful and the perfect spot for our event. The Landing hit every requirement we had for a venue - especially on price. You cannot, cannot beat the incredibly reasonable cost of an event at The Landing, especially given the location. Located in the middle of Newport on Bowen's Wharf, The Landing is exactly where we hoped to be married, and we never expected to be able to get exactly what we wanted at such a reasonable price. The event room with 3 walls of french doors gives you an incredible view of Newport Harbor. And the food!! The food was absolutely delicious. I could not be happier with our choice. Every moment of working with Amanda was easy, enjoyable, and I knew we were in good hands. I trusted her judgment, and would choose The Landing again and again for any special event. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Landing on May 14, 2016, and I cannot say enough good things!! The location was beautiful and the perfect spot for our event. The Landing hit every requirement we had for a venue - especially on price. You cannot, cannot beat the incredibly reasonable cost of an event at The Landing, especially given the location. Located in the middle of Newport on Bowen's Wharf, The Landing is exactly where we hoped to be married, and we never expected to be able to get exactly what we wanted at such a reasonable price. The event room with 3 walls of french doors gives you an incredible view of Newport Harbor. And the food!! The food was absolutely delicious. I could not be happier with our choice. Every moment of working with Amanda was easy, enjoyable, and I knew we were in good hands. I trusted her judgment, and would choose The Landing again and again for any special event. If you are looking for Newport, with gorgeous views, amazing food, and a reasonable price...look no further than The Landing. It is absolutely the best choice you could make!!

We held our rehearsal dinner here in April. The private room upstairs overlooking the docks and water were perfecT! We had great views and an amazing sunset that everyone went outside to take pictures on the balcony. The bar area allowed our guests to mingle and the food was great. Amanda was awesome. We dropped off the decor in boxes that morning and she had everything beautifully set up by the time we arrived. Having the set up off our plate allowed us to really enjoy the evening. So glad we chose here and recommend it to other couples! Can't beat the location and the room.

The Landing was a perfect, waterfront location for our small Fall wedding reception of 50 guests .The Landing does not charge a room fee, just a food/drink minimum, which really made this location a no-brainer. Our guests had a beautiful view of sunset on the harbor as we transitioned from cocktail hour to our entrance and dinner. I highly recommend timing your events around sunset! \rI have to admit we were apprehensive after initially not being impressed with our food tasting (which you will be charged around $25 for) but after speaking with the coordinator, Amanda and making a few changes to our meal selection, we were assured we would not be disappointed. As promised our food was amazing and highly complimented by our guests. We opted for Chicken Parm, Mushroom Ravioli and Baked Cod. Two of those meals were not offered on the event menu but they were very happy to get creative. The Landing also offered hot and chilled apple cider to our guests as we requested, an item that they do not normally have on hand. We were not charged extra and the addition really tied our Fall theme together. We really wanted a dessert buffet for our reception, Amanda and her team went above and beyond to bring out dessert after dessert after dessert. So many different kinds that I truly lost track. There was no additional charge for adding different options to our dessert offerings and it definitely pulled our vision together of a small scale Venetian Hour.\rAlthough our reception was beautiful and Amanda and her team were wonderful to work with, there are a few hiccups that I must mention in hopes of putting them on other brides checklists to avoid. At some point in the planning the measurements for the table lines were misunderstood, which caused us to scramble a bit to come up with a plan b, the day before the wedding. If you are not renting from a party supplier, be sure and take careful measurements yourself. We ended up with two long family style tables, which is actually what we originally wanted and looked beautiful but it did mess with our seating chart a bit. Another hiccup that took place was during our reception, the wireless microphone provided by the Landing (they have an entire audio setup) ran out of battery midway through our evening. The Landing did not have replacement batteries available and did not seem at all concerned that our DJ then had to YELL announcements across the room. It really took away from the formalness of our night, I suggest making sure batteries are fully stocked and despite the full audio setup available that your DJ still comes prepared with extra equipment.\rAnother minor issue we heard about from our guests was the lack of signage or assistance in locating our reception. Our guests were left a bit confused as to where to find us once they arrived and found the staff was still setting up our decorations at the time of the reception due to starting only an hour or so before our cocktail hour began but the room looked stunning when complete. Guests also commented that the bathrooms were not stocked with paper towels and soap, an issue I wouldn't think I would need to address during my planning. \rOverall the Landing Restaurant was a gorgeous, waterfront location for our wedding reception. Amanda and her team were fabulous to work with and the price couldn't be beat, especially in the wedding capital, Newport.\r

We chose the Landing Restaurant because we were having a small wedding and wanted it in a unique location. My husband and I both have a love for the water but didn't want to do the popular beach wedding. The dock setting for the ceremony was absolutely gorgeous and the convenience of having the upstairs room for the reception where guests could also stand to watch the ceremony was perfect. We had the Clam Bake. The lobster was delicious! Amanda (the event coordinator) was great. She always got back to me in a timely manner and made sure everything went perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a more fabulous day!

Our wedding reception had 70 guests, and The Landing was perfect for what we were looking for: waterfront views, an intimate setting, a bar near the dance floor, and good food & service.\r\rThey met all of our expectations...and more. :) The food was DELICIOUS (our guests are still raving about the filet mignon)....the service was EXCELLENT...and Amanda who helped put together the night was nothing but AMAZING to work with.\r\rSo happy with how everything turned out. HIGHLY recommend this location for an event under 100 people. (70 was just the right amount)\r\rPlus, they recently renovated the 2nd floor where our reception was held, so the atmosphere was just beautiful!

My husband and I are both from RI originally and so we were looking for an intimate place in RI to have our wedding, that would also be a destination for friends traveling from out-of-town. The Landing was the perfect venue for our small(ish), non-traditional wedding! The food was fantastic and the space was perfect. Amanda was so great to work with, making suggestions as needed and following up in a timely manner, and the staff did a fantastic job following our instructions for decorations and they were all so helpful and friendly throughout the night. We couldn't have been any happier with how our day went! Thank you!

The Landing was a perfect location for our reception. From the beginning, we worked with Amanda. She was amazing throughout the entire planning. She always offered valuable suggestions/recommendations. The restaurant was a great size was great for our 95 guest count. It was big enough where everyone was comfortable, but still maintain an intimate vibe. The food was amazing, the sunset was beautiful, and being on the water was quintessential\rNew England! Our wedding was September 19, and it got too cool to really utilize the side patio. I would definitely recommend starting cocktail hour a little early (ours started at 6) to take advantage and witness the beautiful sunset. All our guests couldn't stop raving about the restaurant and have said they will go back. We would highly recommend the Landing.....you'll have a magical evening! We did!

We had our wedding at this venue and our guests raved about how amazing the food was! The portions were very big as well. Our wedding coordinator met with us to go over everything prior to the wedding. I am a little extreme with planning and gave her a detailed email about setup and gave her a floor plan with details on the day of the wedding. She setup everything exactly how I wanted it, I was very impressed! Everything looked beautiful. The only negatives were that it was hard to find the coordinator during the actual reception. In this case though, the bartenders were beyond helpful and nice.

The Landing is not the first place people think of when thinking about a Wedding reception but I had mine on Saturday and it was perfect! I had 115 people and while it was a little cozy, I think everyone fit just fine. The view cannot be beat especially at sunset. For the bride on a budget, there is no room fee! That does not exist in Newport and most other places. I was looking for an out of the box place where everyone could have a great time but I could still dress it up like a wedding and that is exactly what I got.\r\rI did not have a wedding planner so was a little nervous but Amanda was absolutely amazing, she listened to every detail and was always in communication. The place looked even better than I had expected when I walked in.\r\rThe food was wonderful! I went with a fish, chicken and pasta dish which all looked great and was cost effective. \r\rI would recommend this location to anyone and everyone!

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Landing in mid-September, and it couldn't have worked out more perfectly. We had a smaller crowd (~30 people), so we had it in the downstairs space, which fit us perfectly, and had doors that opened right onto the water. The views and sunset were a beautiful backdrop, and since we had it in September, there were no summer crowds :) The price was much more reasonable than a lot of the other nearby restaurants which had absurd minimums, and the view from The Landing was way better than the others in our opinion. The vibe at The Landing is very New England and laid-back, which all of our guests appreciated, and was a nice contrast to our very formal wedding reception the following night. Our guests were raving about the delicious food, generous portions at both the coctail hour and dinner and the waterfront location. Amanda was easy to work with and set up our nautical theme linens and table decorations. It was also a plus for us that this restaurant is right downtown, so everyone could walk to their hotels after, and we didn't have to worry about drinking & driving or providing transportation. One thing I wish we had been warned about (or thought through beforehand) is parking - my groom had drove because we had gifts for our wedding party in the car, and it took him 45 minutes to find a parking spot (every lot was full - and this was on a Thursday in mid-Sept), so he ended up missing a good portion of the cocktail hour which was a bummer and unnecessary stress for him. With that warning, I would definitely recommend The Landing for a rehearsal dinner though!
