Boxwood Hospitality made our planning process easy and our big day stress free! From touring The Laurel with Haley, to meeting with Chef Justo and attending supper series to pick the perfect menu, to planning sessions with London that were so fun and organized, we loved every minute of working with the Boxwood team! The Laurel is the most perfect venue. Whether you want an indoor or outdoor ceremony, both the chapel and the outdoor space provide the best backdrops. The fireplaces are wonderful statement pieces. The dark wood and beams alongside the white walls and stone are beautiful and canât be beat! You can decorate it with many florals or keep it simple, either way, the area shines and is so cozy and perfect.Chef Justo and the catering team make the best food. Our guests are still raving about the âtiny ice cream conesâ that were the brisket/grits cones! The appetizers (brisket cone tacos, grilled cheese bites, crab cakes), tier 2 tex mex buffet, and drinks all hit the spot. The supper series were wonderful events to attend. You get to taste everything and decide what works best for your event and taste buds. Whatever you choose, you canât go wrong, though! Everything was so tasty!Maggie and the Concierge team were helpful during booking and up until being assigned our day of coordinator for any questions you have earlier in the process. We were beyond lucky to have London as our day of coordinator! Once we were assigned London, our lives were made so. much. easier!!! She was so responsive and answered every question we had for her, from candles we could use, to linens, to signature drinks, she was so helpful! We didnât have a wedding planner and she was so kind to us as we planned everything ourselves. Her emails were so organized and seriously helped us have everything in order so seamlessly. On our big day, she ran everything so, so smoothly for us! She worked with all of the vendors, asked what we needed (and usually already knew what we needed before we did!), and made our big day the absolute best.Thank you to everyone at Boxwood Hospitality. The Laurel was absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day! The Chapel and Great Hall reception room were perfect. The rooms felt warm and cozy with the wood accents, scenic windows, and the fireplace burning in the Great Hall. Thereâs plenty of space to accommodate both large and small weddings, with a large dance floor as well. With Texas weather, you never know what it will be like, so I was glad it could all be indoors.Maggie, my day coordinator, was fabulous! We had three meetings as we went through the wedding planning process to make sure everything would be smooth on my wedding day and that I had everything scheduled that I would need. On my wedding day, she helped coordinate all the events and made sure everything went on time and according to schedule. She immediately adjusted if we needed more time for pictures or late family members to the venue. She was very professional and experienced in handling weddings and it showed! The Laurel also provided a list of any vendors you would need: DJ, florist, etc. Our DJ was off of their vendor list and it was perfect because he knew their schedule and worked his program and music accordingly. The food choices provided by the Laurel were good and they were very accommodating to special plates/allergies. They were also very willing to adjust the menu for your tastes.I was extremely happy and impressed with the staff, vendors, and venue overall at the Laurel. I loved having my wedding there and my (now) husband and I had an amazing time! Reviewed on 20-12-2023

The Laurel and Boxwood made the venue experience so easy and convenient! We loved the rustic atmosphere of The Laurel, and we got a lot of compliments on the space. Our guests especially enjoyed the outdoor patio with the fire going. Boxwood also provided a day-of wedding coordinator, Carly, who was immensely helpful, especially since I was doing all the planning on my own. She was always quick to respond and answer my questions, and she made the whole process feel less stressful. The location is also perfect for out-of-town guests, since it's so close to the airport, and it's centrally located for our guests spread out across the DFW metroplex. I would highly recommend! The entire evening exceeded our expectations. We received many compliments about the venueâs atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the staff. Throughout the evening, our guests continued to flow to and from the dance floor and the outdoor space. Even though The Laurel is close to the airport, we didnât hear or see any planes throughout the evening. Our âday of wedding coordinatorâ was extremely attentive to all our needs from noon till midnight. We would highly recommend The Laurel for anyone looking for a venue that is all inclusive, close to anywhere within the DFW metroplex and working with an excellent team of people who are superb at hosting weddings. The attention to detail with all of the planning and the timeline was impeccable as well, helping to ensure everything went right on schedule. The bridal and grooms suites were perfect, but of course the entire venue is absolutely beautiful and the whole team at The Laurel was so attentive to us all night, making sure we had food and our glasses were always full. When we started our wedding planning process, venue was our top priority and we had a list of over 15 venues we planned to schedule for a tour. When we saw The Laurel, we were so captivated by the location, the interior and exterior design and most importantly the beautiful and classic chapel. After touring The Laurel, we knew it was the one and did not even have a backup venue. Haley was so helpful with the tour, and the venue was even more beautiful in person and the outdoor was so greenery. London, our venue coordinator was simply AMAZING throughout our planning process till the wedding day, beginning to the very end. She was so patient and understanding on our rehearsal day as some of our wedding parties were running late and we ended up needing extra time and we so appreciated her for that. She was very knowledgeable and provided detailed information throughout the planning process. She had great communication and organization skills which made our wedding planning process so enjoyable and smooth! On the wedding morning she checked on me and reminded me kindly to enjoy every single moment of the day and that the day would go so fast. Our wedding started at 5:30PM and London often checked on us if we needed anything which made us feel so special and so well taken care of. We had such a great peace of mind knowing that London was there the entire time on our wedding day. During our custom menu tasting, the catering service team went above and beyond to understand what we were wanting to serve and they exceeded our expectations on the wedding day!!!. All of our wedding party enjoyed the food so much and we received soooooo many compliments on how delicious the foods were. All of The Laurel staff were extremely friendly and professional. Everyone we worked with at the Laurel was helpful, communicative, and responsive. The venue itself is simple and beautiful with a great layout for large groups. Our dinner on wedding night was even better than the tasting, which was a huge hit with guests! My only reason for not giving 5/5 stars is because we did have an issue with A/C the day before, which was resolved as best as possible, but still not ideal. And bartenders were not aware of our signature drink until guests requested it. But we truly had the best day and would still recommend overall! Reviewed on 11-07-2023

We looked at many lovely venues in Dallas that would have required us to hire a Dallas-based planner. Not something I felt we needed and a large additional expense. Between what the Laurel provided and vendors they recommended we were able to plan the perfect day. The fact that we got a coordinator to work with four months out was a game changer. We were able to do all of our planning and communicating with our AMAZING planner, Maggie. She listens, is so resourceful, smart and a pleasure to work with. There are charts, timelines and planning right down to the minutia. I asked her questions constantly and she got right back to me with a cheerful \"no problem\" or a solid recommendation. Maggie also coordinated with all of our vendors prior to the wedding. As a former event manager myself, I figured I'd have to follow up on my own and double check everything. After working with Maggie for a few weeks, it was clear she had solid grip on everything and while we know she had many clients, she always made us feel like we were the only ones. Boxwood Hospitality, this woman is a customer service All-Star! The food was excellent, the staff was so professional and the facility is beautiful and spotless. Worked well with out wedding planner and all contractors for wedding. Only downside is food prep happens outside in/near a metal shipping container. Worth paying for the drapes to hide it but wish that hiding this was included in the venue cost. This was not a deal breaker and it was generally out of eyesight, especially for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Reviewed on 16-11-2021

We liked this venue because it was large enough to fit our guest list (we were aiming around 200). There was plenty of room and it was nice that everything was located in one building so we didn't need any transportation, etc. The staff and everyone we worked with was so helpful and made the process so easy (Maggie was amazing too!!). From our first impressions on our first visit, all the way through the planning and preparation process, they took amazing care of us. Maggie was our day-of-coordinator (yes, they provide you a coordinator!), and thought of small details and questions that never would have crossed my mind. Maggie and her team did such an incredible job taking care of us and our families on our wedding day, that even our other friends and guests took notice. Everything went off without a hitch in huge part to all the work her and her team did day-of, and in preparation leading up to our wedding. Lastly, The Laurel is super up front and transparent with their pricing, they mean it when they say everything is included. We had no surprise fees or costs come up later on. Caroline Reed(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2021 PHENOMENAL. I was initially attracted to this venue for the guest capacity and because one of my friends got married there and I knew how gorgeous it was and how easy the flow and set up is. What actually got us booked there were all the perks that came with a booking. Catering, linens, dinnerware, etc were all included which gave us one less thing to do. We also got an event coordinator that helped us from about a month out and on the actual day. This alone makes the venue worth it. Maggie was our hero. I had so many questions and stressors about specifics before our first meeting with her and once we met, it all went away. She had the answers for everything. My mom and I emailed her many, many times in the last month and she always responded promptly and always had a solution. On the actual rehearsal and wedding day, having her running the show was invaluable. It meant that me or my mom didnât have to worry about a lot of random questions and distractions. She handled it all. It was also such a plus that she is part of the venue staff rather than an outside person we hired. She knows the venue, knows the other staff, knows exactly what works and what doesnât. Beyond the coordinator though, the venue is absolutely beautiful. It matches exactly what you see in pictures on their website. I particularly like how there are separate spaces for the ceremony and the reception so that you donât have to worry about flipping the room. The beauty of the space itself makes it a really great canvas for decor but also makes it easy to do simple decor if thatâs more your style. Thereâs not really anything ugly to cover up. The bridal suite is wonderful as well. Itâs a really great size and in a good location on the property itself. I was also very appreciative of the outdoor space they provide. Some venues donât have this but it was really important to me to have outdoor pictures and an outdoor cocktail hour. Finally, the location is awesome for out of town guests. Itâs in Grapevine and just across the highway from Embassy Suites and the big Hilton. And itâs 5 minutes from DFW. The drive from Dallas isnât bad either. Overall, 10/10 will recommend to every single person I know who is getting married in Dallas. Reviewed on 14-10-2021

Carolyn Beckham(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-05-2021 I wanted to share our great experience with the owner and management team of the Laurel. Our daughterâs wedding, which was expected to be about 225 people, was scheduled for the Laurel this May 1, 2021. Unfortunately during the unprecedented 10 day snow and ice storm that hit Texas, the Laurel experienced damage to their building due to frozen burst sprinkler pipes. Buildings all over the DFW metroplex experienced significant damage. Soon after, we were contacted by the owner, Thomas Bain, of Boxwood Hospitality and told that the repairs would most likely not be completed in time for our daughterâs wedding. I canât say enough how much we appreciated his openness, honesty and transparency during this time. He was great in communicating with us his negotiations with insurance and his attempt to expedite repairs to the building. And from day one, his team begin to try to help us to relocate our daughterâs wedding to another venue as quickly as possible. While according to the contract we had signed, he was not legally required to refund all of the money we had paid up to that point, Mr. Bain told us that he was doing his level best to make that possible. And I am happy to say that is exactly what he didâ full refund. That was not only an honorable thing to do, it was also greatly appreciated by my husband and me. Maggie, our wedding coordinator was terrific also and did everything she could to help us. I would have no hesitancy booking with any venue owned by Boxwood Hospitality. This venue is top notch! Shelby Marshall(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-01-2021 All I can say about The Laurel and everyone we were lucky to work with is \"WOW!\". My husband and I had rescheduled 3 different ceremonies out of state (due to COVID, we ended up changing plans to have our wedding locally!). We toured and booked the venue within 48 hours. Andria was our initial contact and she was nothing short of helpful and fabulous helping us answer questions. We were shortly set up with our coordinator Julianne who was AMAZING. She was so incredibly helpful making sure we got things checked off the to do list, helping us make tricky decisions, and even offering advice/decor recommendations. I mean truly amazing, I am so sad I will never get to work with them again. The Laurel is amazing because the venue is gorgeous and simple. You can dress it up to your liking, or if you're like me and like simplicity, the venue is beautiful without a room full of decor and florals. It is so nice the have the chapel and reception area all in one location as well. Another great perk of working with The Laurel is that their catering and bar is all in house (Boxwood Catering) so you do not have to go a hunt down a separate caterer! Their food selection was outstanding. They even offer a showcase of their catering options every few months were they put on an amazing event with a full bar and huge food selection. That was so much fun! At the showcase, we also got to pick out linens, plates, etc. This was so helpful to get to see the venue all done up for an event. It is really such a gorgeous space. We ended up being able to plan our entire wedding in just under 3 months. It was intense, but the team at The Laurel made it a great experience. Now, for the day of: our wedding was on a Friday in January, which helped cost wise. We had 2 day of coordinators provided by The Laurel. They helped direct vendors, make sure we had all we needed, etc. The bridal & groom suite was equipped with built in bluetooth speaker which was great! The bridal suite has gorgeous lighting and plenty of space. The ONE downside was the lack of hooks in the bridal suite for bridesmaid dresses. They also stocked the suites (courtesy of the venue) with mimosas, water, and sodas for the ladies, and the guy's had some beer, sodas, and whiskey. They did a great job of keeping us all on schedule and relaxed. I truly had 0 stress day of with the help of our team from The Laurel. The ceremony went great! The venue urges patrons to wear masks throughout the event which we had no issue enforcing for our guests. They also provided many hand sanitizer stations. We got to enjoy some cocktails and apps just the two of us while everyone else was enjoying cocktail hour which was really nice! Throughout the reception, Julianne was great about keeping us on schedule and making sure we got to all of our \"tasks\" in time, but we still had an absolute BLAST. I did not leave the dance floor once the entire night. The bar was well stocked with our favorites, and even fixings for an old fashioned! Everyone was very complimentary about how great the venue was. I wish I could write 10 more paragraphs about how spectacular our wedding was. Both are very beautiful.Things Included: One reason we loved The Laurel was the venue took a lot of stress off of me, the bride, because I didn't have to look outside for vendors like linens, tables, chairs, bartenders, and catering. Everything was top of the line and something I would have picked out anyways if I had to bring it in from somewhere else.Food and Beverage: WOW.... words that I heard over and over from our guest after the wedding. Everybody was talking about how great the food was. There were tons of options and price levels to meet everyones needs and wants. We had three passed o'hoarders during cocktail hour, chicken and brisket for our main course. For beverages we had wine, beer, champagne, and liquor. Annie Schultheis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2019 I got married on October 13, and the Laurel was our wedding venue. We were very glad to have our wedding hosted by the Laurel and would recommend it to anyone getting married or hosting an event! The Laurel was exactly something that fit with our style, and we loved it. We had outdoor activities, and the Laurel allowed us to bring various games to use such as a ping pong table or cornhole boards. I visited other venues which there was an extra fee to use the outdoor space, and we didn't have to pay anything extra with the Laurel. There is a lot of construction near the venue, but once you're indoors, you can't even tell or hear what is happening outside (even when you're in their outdoor space). Construction is something the venue can't help, so they make the most of what they can do to accommodate their guests! Reviewed on 11-11-2019
Sherri Golkow(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-09-2019 As soon as we saw the Laurel in person, I knew it was where we were going to get married. The space is gorgeous, both inside and outside. We had an outdoor ceremony but loved knowing that our ârain planâ was the most beautiful chapel we ever saw. The bridal and groomâs suites were both perfect for our needs. Most importantly, our day of coordinator was amazing. She was easy to work with, relaxed, kind, and fun to hang out with. She made the day run smooth and was a calming presence. Corey Timmerman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-05-2019 I just had my wedding at The Laurel back in May, and it was absolutely wonderful! Everything ran so smoothly, from the day we chose it as our wedding venue all the way through the wedding day. The venue itself is beautiful, you can have the ceremony and reception both on-site, and there's the option of indoor (in the Chapel) or outdoor ceremony, and a beautiful reception hall with high ceilings and exposed wooden beams. There are separate rooms for the bride and groom, which were perfect for getting ready beforehand. Despite being right by major highways it was surprisingly private and felt like you were far out of the city. The best part is once you book with the Laurel you get a personal wedding day coordinator, who contacts and organizes all of your vendors to make sure they arrive on time and have all the information they need about the venue. I didn't have a wedding planner, so this was such a blessing. We met months in advance to create the wedding timeline, pick out linens and table configurations, bar menu, and go over all sorts of wedding details I never would have thought of myself! They've done so many weddings they also have great suggestions for vendors they've worked with in the past who they know are good. So once the day of the wedding came, I didn't have to worry about coordinating any of my vendors - they arrived on time to the right place and everything was set up with plenty of time to spare before our start time. This venue was a bit over my budget when I was initially looking, but I couldn't have been more happy with how everything went and would choose the Laurel again and recommend it to everyone I know who is getting married! The Laurel was simply a platform for which we were able to host a celebration. The staff joined in on the celebration with great excitement and genuine spirits. On the wedding day, I was greeted with great joy as I walked in the door. Our coordinator, Julianne, LISTENED. BreAnne Vincent(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2019 We looked at several venues before my coworker told me about The Laurel. Once we toured The Laurel, we knew it was the place we wanted to get married! We loved the natural beauty of the venue, the location of it, and that we could have the ceremony and reception at one place. Our day of coordinator, Jennae, was very personable, helpful and responsive to all the questions we asked! We got married on 5/18/19 and a huge storm blew through DFW that afternoon causing a power outage in the area. The Laurel staff got Oncor to the property as quickly as possible and kept my family informed during the entire process, but we did have our ceremony without electricity. However, since The Laurel has so many windows that create natural light and has beautiful scenery outside, it didnât even matter and the ceremony was still beautiful! In fact, most of our guests didnât even realize the power was outâŠbesides the fact that it was a little too warm in the venue! The power came on for the reception and everything was back to normal! We had a blast and our guests had a blast! Everyone commented on how beautiful the venue is! Reviewed on 06-06-2019

Anne Ebeling(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2018 We could not have picked a better venue. The Laurel is unique and gorgeous, with a style that perfectly reflects the \"Texas elegant\" vibe of the DFW area. While it features some really lovely detailsâfrom the stonework to the beautiful exposed beams and, of course, the magnificent fireplaceâThe Laurel is essentially a blank slate that can accommodate a variety of unique visions. In addition to the aesthetic and logistical qualities of the venue (amazing bride's and groom's suites, large bathrooms, expansive patio, etc.), The Laurel's staff is wonderful and accommodating and will do everything possible to make sure your day goes off without a hitch. Our day-of coordinator (and Director of Event Operations), Jessica LeBlanc expertly handled our whole dayâcoordinating vendor drop-offs and setup, placing table numbers and escort cards, then keeping us on schedule and handling any snafus in the background. First of all, the building itself & property is GORGEOUS (seriously, take a tour, you'll fall in love) and I loved that they had a indoor and outdoor space that we could utilize. They have separate bride and groom's \"getting ready rooms\" that you could utilize from 10am that morning which was not only beautiful but so practical for everyone to gather and get hair & make up done the day-of. They include tables/chairs and linens in your rental package and it was so nice not to worry about renting these out and coordinating delivery from an outside company. They also include valet which made it very convenient for our guests. Our wedding reception package also included a day-of coordinator who we met with prior to the meeting. We were assigned Tzahhia and we couldn't be happier with our time with her. She was so much more than a day-of coordinator, always available to answer questions, recommend vendors, coordinate our vendors and had a meeting with us prior to our wedding. She was professional, detailed, and kind. (In fact our caterer found out we had her prior to our first meeting and could not say enough nice things about her either!) If there was a crisis I was oblivious and I know she would've handled it with grace and in our best interest! We didn't have our ceremony at The Laurel due to our religious beliefs- only the reception, but I wish we could of because the chapel is beautiful and a great size for plenty of guests! We loved our wedding day at The Laurel and would definitely recommend to others! The wedding day was the most special & perfect day due to the hard work of the entire team at the Laurel. As far as size/location/vendor options, it was perfect price and size for my wedding. The weather was iffy on our wedding day and Tzahhia already had plans in action before I even asked her. She kept me updated with diagrams and my schedule it was very helpful. I can not tell you how much easier your wedding day is when you ceremony and reception are in the same place. And what I loved about the Laurel is that they were two separate spaces so no need for a stressful room flip. The venue also comes with tables and beautiful linen options which is one less thing you have to pay for and one less vendor you have to deal with. I loved having the \"day of coordinator\" included with the venue. Carly Suhr was our coordinator and she went way above and beyond. Helping us create the wedding timeline, running the show at the rehearsal and on the wedding day, and contacting all the vendors to confirm times for setup. Sarah Colunga(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-08-2018 Everything about this venue was amazing! I was having a really hard time finding a venue that had options for an indoor ceremony and reception that didn't use the same space. I kept running into places that offered this option but I would have to use the same space for the ceremony as the reception which I wasn't a fan of. The Laurel offers a beautiful chapel for your ceremony and even if you do want an outside ceremony there is an option for that as well. Their reception hall is stunning! I immediately fell in love with the brick fireplace and the beautiful high ceilings. What was really the selling point for me was that they offered a day of coordinator that you were able to get together with 90 days before your big day and all of your vendors went through them. This was huge because I found wedding planning to be extremely overwhelming and just knowing that there was someone there to handle all the day to day stuff was a big relief. Tzahhia was our day of coordinator and she was amazing! She made sure everything ran smoothly for us the day of our wedding! I would highly suggest this venue to anyone getting married! The Laurel was by far the most beautiful place for my daughter to have her wedding, with the wooden beams in the Chapel and Great Hall, the beautiful stone fireplaces and the outdoor space this all made for a beautiful setting. It was also very important to my daughter to have a large and comfortable bridal and groomâs suite to get ready in and The Laurel provided this. The Laurel is also in a perfect location, we had a lot of out of town guests, so it was close to hotels and the airport. Our day of coordinator was Tzahhia Coleman and she was wonderful to work with. Her guidance and suggestions were so incredibly helpful, and she kept us on track with the planning process. She was very patient and organized and was in charge of all the vendors the day of the wedding. I had complete trust in her, so I didnât worry about anything and I could just enjoy the day.
