My experience as mother of the bride for a reception at The Cornhusker Marriott included enough negatives that I would not recommend this venue. Firstly, it is very costly. While they like to say there is no charge for use of the reception hall, the price for most everything else is very overpriced. The food was especially mediocre for the price. There are several taxes, service charges, and arena charges on the food and beverages in the fine print that the actual price is much higher than they quote. They charge for nearly everything including the use of extension cords, floor length table clothes and extra any color linens. Very little variety is included in what they offer for free in decor, so don't be fooled in thinking that you'll save money with their decor. It is boring and you will want more. We paid for a buffet for a rehearsal but they would not allow us to take any of the leftovers. Evidentially they are just fine with throwing away the food that you paid for. At the reception, We had a couple guests, one who was feeling ill and needed to go to her room at the hotel, request to have a to go box for the meal she hadn't eaten. They refused to give her a to go box. The Kids meal prices were around $20. When one toddler was having a rough time and needed to go to the hotel room for a while, the staff refused to give them a to go box for the expensive kids meal. I found them to be very inflexible. 5 days before the wedding a couple had to cancel due to having Covid, but I guess 5 days was not enough notice and we were charged for the 2 meals anyway. The potato portion of the meal was so small that one could finish it with 2-3 small bites-as the host, it was embarassing, I don't know how many wedding coordinators they have on staff, but ours was not especially friendly the day before and of the wedding. She acted as if she was bothered by any request we made. On what should be a happy exciting time, she appeared to be annoyed. I don't think I saw her laugh or smile. I was a guest at another wedding there recently and noticed that she had the same \"I'm not happy to be here\" look on her face. While she was good about responding to emails and informing us about deadlines for needed information, I would prefer to work with someone who seemed to enjoy her job. I'd prefer to work with a company that recognizes we are giving them thousands of dollars for over priced food and drinks, so they don't need to charge us for an extra extension cord we need.

The Cornhusker was such a phenomenal choice for our wedding reception! The staff was wonderful to work with and so accommodating to our day. Our day-of-coordinator, Cassi, helped us to create the perfect day. I would highly recommend this venue for any occasion!

We had our wedding reception at The Cornhusker hotel in July 2022 and we are so glad we did! The staff there was great and our reception was absolutely gorgeous! They really help make your reception be as stress-free as possible. The pricing is a bit high if you were to compare it to other caterers or venues, but you get what you pay for and that's a beautiful reception & well-taken care of bride & groom + guests! We had several out-of-state guests and all were very pleased with their stay there as well. Would highly recommend The Cornhusker for a wedding reception venue!

We used the Cornhusker for our room block and day-after brunch. They were extremely lacking in the communication department before we arrived and my parents had to virtually force them to do what they said they would. It made it much more frustrating than it needed to be.

The Marriott Cornhusker really took the stress out of wedding planning. They were so flexible and accommodating to work with and handled all of the details and requests we made. It was nice to be able to attend the Wedding Experience event and visualize what our wedding could look like. The staff were great, the food was delicious, and the venue is beautiful.

My husband and I had our reception at the Cornhusker. Overall everything went very well and everyone commented on how beautiful it was. There were a couple down falls though we had maybe 10 minutes instead of the full 30 minutes like they kept stating. This was due to another couple that we waited on for 45 minutes due to no one monitoring the stair case to make sure everyone got there chance. We also had another issues with one our tables not being served until they found my husband to inform him, which was towards the end of everyone’s plates getting picked up. Like I said besides those downfalls it was beautiful and the food was very good.

My husband and I loved having our wedding at the Cornhusker! It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! The food was amazing!!! We did have a mix up with gluten free cake and non gluten free cake and some of our props we bought for our photo booth did not get put out, but overall the Cornhusker was GREAT! I would recommend them!! Emily and Casey were great!!

The Cornhusker ended up being a great place for us to have our reception. Emily Baker was so organized and professional, I would request her!! She made everything run smoothly so I didn’t have to worry about it. Pictures turned out great, and they let us store items for decoration a couple days before so we didn’t have to worry about taking it in day of. They set up and take down everything, which is great. I think they switched chef’s between our tasting and reception, so the food was a little different but still good.

The overall experience was great. They were extremely helpful leading up to and especially on the day of our wedding. We were living out of state at the time and they made everything easy to handle via emails and phone calls and were very professional in everything they did. Changing rooms for the groomsmen and bridesmaids were a huge plus. Food was awesome and their recommended DJ was the life of the party. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding/reception venue in Lincoln.

The Cornhusker is long-standing tradition for wedding receptions in my family, as both my mother and sister celebrated their marriages in the grand ballroom. So, when I got engaged, it was a no-brainer to choose this venue. Patrick, Nick, Jana, and Irish helped us work out not only the ceremony space, but also cocktail hour and the reception. Nick coordinated rooms for bride/groom getting-ready and a hospitality room as well. They even notified us of another large Lincoln event and recommended a large room block because they knew hotel rooms would be of short supply. We had a delightful food tasting, which allowed us to choose our favorite appetizers/dinner and the chef was friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Even the smallest requested details were acknowledged, having water in the getting-ready rooms, luggage transported from room to room, being greeted with a beverage immediately after the ceremony, having wedding gifts transported to a secure location after the ceremony, extra food packaged into a mini-fridge in the honeymoon suite in case we didn't have time to eat dinner, cake/decor stored until the next day, and we were surprised with a dessert plate upon arriving to our room as a married couple with personal congratulatory notes from the staff. We were spoiled for the after-wedding breakfast with Maisy as our server, who kept high spirits even before we had our coffee AND served in a timely fashion for guests who were heading out of town. We are honored to have our historic photo as Mr. and Mrs. on THE staircase! Thank you to everyone involved in our event, it was better than a fairytale.

From the moment we went on our first tour of the property to the actual wedding day, we worked with the most accommodating and friendly staff. They really cared about our big day and planned everything down to the finest detail. We worked specifically with Nick and he was very helpful and insightful during the whole process. We also had our room block at the hotel and the customer service was great! We are so happy we decided to have our reception there and wouldn’t have changed a thing!

We had our wedding reception in the Lancaster Room of the Cornhusker and it was amazing! Nick Sanders (wedding coordinator) was an amazing help - he made sure everything leading up to the day was organized, and he made sure everything we wanted would be included in our day. He always answered emails, and set up meetings with us whenever I wanted them. The staff on the night of the reception was incredibly helpful, and did everything they could to make the night go smoothly. They handle weddings all the time so they truly are experts! My only complaint was my husband and I were supposed to receive the bridal suite for the night of the reception, but we were placed in a normal room, my guess was they were overbooked for the night. Despite that I would definitely recommend having your reception at the Cornhusker!

Nick Sanders (wedding coordinator) was an amazing help - he made sure everything leading up to the day was organized, and he made sure everything we wanted would be included in our day. He always answered emails, and set up meetings with us whenever I wanted them. The staff on the night of the reception was incredibly helpful, and did everything they could to make the night go smoothly. They handle weddings all the time so they truly are experts! My only complaint was my husband and I were supposed to receive the bridal suite for the night of the reception, but we were placed in a normal room, my guess was they were overbooked for the night. Despite that I would definitely recommend having your reception at the Cornhusker!

Our wedding coordinator (Nick) was so helpful during the whole planning process. Answered any and all questions that we had. He was available if and when needed. The other hotel staff were so kind and helpful for whatever we needed that day. They even went above and beyond so that we could decorate the banquet room the night before. I would HIGHLY recommend The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel to anyone and everyone! A+++++

We had our wedding reception at The Cornhusker and we loved it, they met with us quite a few times for planning and invited us to a \"Reception\" they had setup for all upcoming brides and grooms to check out what they have to offer. They were great to work with and both our families loved spending the weekend here! We were lucky enough to have a day to setup before the wedding which made me feel really comfortable before the wedding day. The food was amazing, the bar service was perfect, we had butler passed champagne and they made sure to get everyone, the event manager (Nick) and sales person (Patrick) were great at answering all my questions and accommodating to our needs. I would recommend The Cornhusker to anyone looking for a place to hold their reception! I wish we could relive the event over and over!

We had our wedding reception at The Cornhusker and we loved it, they met with us quite a few times for planning and invited us to a \"Reception\" they had setup for all upcoming brides and grooms to check out what they have to offer. They were great to work with and both our families loved spending the weekend here! We were lucky enough to have a day to setup before the wedding which made me feel really comfortable before the wedding day. The food was amazing, the bar service was perfect, we had butler passed champagne and they made sure to get everyone, the event manager (Nick) and sales person (Patrick) were great at answering all my questions and accommodating to our needs. They were very accommodating after the game day for Husker Football was announced and they worked with us with any questions we had. I got into my reception and everything was exactly the way I pictured it. The centerpieces were set up correctly and the uplighting added the perfect touch to the room. We had Nick as our event manager and he was awesome to work with, as well as our banquet manager, Jason who was there the night of and even checked on us at breakfast the next day to see if we needed anything. My guests had nothing but good things to say and that just added to our amazing day!

The location of the hotel is perfect in downtown Lincoln. We did not have the reception at the hotel but they were happy to give guests shuttle rides to the wedding and it was perfect as the guest did not have to deal with parking. I will stay here again! I can't say enough about Nick and the entire staff at the Cornhusker. We booked a corner suite for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in prior to the wedding and stayed there with my husband that night. We also had several of our guests stay there. Throughout the whole process of booking the rooms Nick went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we asked for. I always recommend the Cornhusker Hotel when friends and family visit and our experience with them for our wedding only reinforced this!

I can say without a doubt that our wedding day would not have run as smoothly as it did if we had went with a venue other than the Cornhusker. My daughter's wedding party and guests stayed at the Cornhusker Hotel and it was amazing! Mary (our coordinator) was responsive and available at all times. The hotel team went out of their way to help us. We used a conference room for the bridal party dressing room--the space was large and the hotel team provided a perfect lunch selection (sandwiches were so yummy). The shuttle driver and team responded to last minute timing changes and they were really fun and gracious. We highly recommend using the Cornhusker for any/all wedding needs (or football game weekends too)!

Worth every penny! My husband and I were hesitant to spend a lot of money on our reception venue but Patrick assured us that is would be worth it and boy was he right. Anna was our assigned wedding coordinator and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. She took care of everything, made sure we were on track with our planning and was always just a quick phone-call or email away if we needed something. Did I mention that she helped me bustle my dress because we couldn't get it figured out? That definitely isn't in her job description! Jason made sure the whole evening went super smoothly and that we had everything we needed, he even greeted us at our party bus with drinks in hand...talk about customer service! The big selling feature for us was that they took all of the stress away. The Cornhusker staff set up the room for us, cleaned up after the event, helped us move our gifts into another room for the night and got us anything anything and everything that we asked for. They even added extra details to our decorations that truly made everything come together perfectly. We felt so honored to be able to have our wedding reception at the Cornhusker!

I was so excite when I found out that The Cornhusker Marriott had my wedding date available. Patrick Murphy is the activities directory as far as bookings for events in the hotel and he was AMAZING. He totally has everything under control, is organized, and is extremely speedy with answering questions. He is like having your own wedding coordinator. He had contacted all of my vendors, got a timeline, scheduling, and everything was PERFECT. It was the perfect place for an elegant and romantic wedding. The grandballroom was turned into exactly what I could have dreamed for. The Cornhusker was so nice, organized, and so helpful. They also catered our meal and it was fantastic. The head cook and another cook carried my meal, my husbands, and both our parents meals while we went through the buffet. It was very sweet.

Very easy to work with and set up a wedding block for our out of town guests. Price was affordable and even offered it to guests past the deadline, since rooms were still available.

When my husband went to check us in before the wedding, they did not have our room ready... after realizing it was our wedding day, they graciously upgraded us to a suite room that was ready! It was such a great surprise and something we will always remember. I was very pleased by the service we received and their part in making our wedding day special!

Britnie Edwards (Manager) Hello! My name is Britnie Edwards, I’m the Catering Sales Manager and have been in the wedding industry for the last 6 years! I have my Bachelors degree in Business Management and my Masters in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Growing up around the Lincoln area I have developed a deep love for the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker and am excited to help you fall in love with it as well.
