We had our dream wedding thanks to Marissa and the rest of the team at Purgatory. They were a delight to work with and Marissa was so incredibly helpful in finding additional vendors that we had forgotten to book. I can’t thank her enough! We love the venue, the menu (and EVERYTHING Chef Shawn put out for people to eat was delicious. Rave reviews. And don’t forget how beautiful that stone fireplace is for photos! I’d never thought we would find a gem like this but we got incredibly lucky. Can’t go wrong booking them!

This place is amazing!! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful the day of. The food was incredible and we had everyone tell us how wonderful it was (we went with the taco bar) the scenery is perfect for pictures and the getting ready space is perfect. Samantha was so helpful in making sure we were on track and offered tons of helpful suggestions. Marissa was there to greet us the day of and really made us feel taken care of. Can not recommend this place enough!

This place is amazing!! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful the day of. The food was incredible and we had everyone tell us how wonderful it was (we went with the taco bar) the scenery is perfect for pictures and the getting ready space is perfect. Samantha was so helpful in making sure we were on track and offered tons of helpful suggestions. Marissa was there to greet us the day of and really made us feel taken care of. Can not recommend this place enough!

Beautiful venue, bad food and staff service. Leading up to the day of the event, Samantha was attentive and helped organize the day of details, but the day of, it was a different story and a huge let down. For my husband and I, we chose Purgatory based on the beautiful scenery, the ability to have an outdoor ceremony/ indoor reception and most importantly for us the price point was much more competitive than other venues in the area. We had also read that the food was good which was a major plus. What we didn’t realize is that the best thing about Purgatory ( the taco bar was a really close second) was having the event coordinator Samantha throughout the process. Samantha is the opitimy of professionalism and extremely organized. We felt from the beginning expectations were set and we never felt as if additional costs were being thrown at us without us knowing. Throughout the process, Samantha sent reminders at 1 year, 6 months and more frequently as we got closer. At the tasting, not only did we pick out delicious food but we were able to utilize the time as a planning session. This was about 3 months out from the big day and really helped us gain perspective as to what We had accomplished, and what we needed to still complete. We felt a huge weight lifted off after this meeting. At six weeks she senta timeline that outlined everything she needed from us, whether it was payments, or guest count - again it was all lined out so no last minute surprises. The day of the wedding, there are always some kinks and try as we might to breakdown a schedule ahead of time, life happens and we were running behind. Thankfully Samantha is a pro and she kept us updated. She was very level headed and made me feel a wave of calm. She was able to work with her staff to get 200+ people through the buffet so that people could enjoy the taco bar. Samantha helped make our wedding dreams come true and we are so thankful she there to help our day run smoothly.

I have literally never written a review in my life, but I just had to give props to Purgatory Golf Club as my wedding venue! The prices were amazing, the look and atmosphere is gorgeous, and I was complimented on the food all night long. The wedding coordinator, Samantha, went above and beyond. Managed schedule changes and every crisis with professionalism and haste. My husband almost didn't want to go with this venue because you share a lounge/bar area with golfers but even with a massive tournament happening it didn't affect our speed of service or schedule. All it did was get us extra congratulations haha I highly recommend this venue!

Purgatory was a beautiful space to host our event. We held our ceremony and reception there. The staff was polite. Samantha, Purgatory's event director, was sturn, but not over bearing. She was very helpful in planning. I just wanted someone to tell me what to do and when to do it...which is what you need for a wedding. MOST of the food was good. We got a beef round for a carving station. I had a multiple guests negatively comment about that. All the other food (sides: mac n cheese, green beans, salad, and turkey) was wonderful!

We are beyond happy with our experience at Purgatory Golf Club! Samantha and the rest of the staff were so helpful and accommodating. Throughout the entire day someone was always asking if we needed anything and constantly checking on us. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, inside and outside. We originally were supposed to get married outside on the pond. It ended up raining the entire weekend of our wedding. When we got to rehearsal the night before, they had the reception area prepped for the ceremony and it was so pretty. Their back up plan for rain is just as perfect as an outdoor ceremony. We have gotten SO many compliments about the venue from out guests. Everything is reasonably affordable and they are so easy to work with. I would highly recommend Purgatory Golf Club for your wedding venue!

We were SO happy with our experience at Purgatory Golf Club. Samantha (contact at Purgatory) was very helpful throughout the entire planning process. The lodge feel of the clubhouse was exactly what my husband and I were looking for! The food was AMAZING. Its all made from scratch and absolutely delicious. Our guests are still telling us about how good it was over 2 weeks after the wedding! Samantha made sure everything went off without a hitch. I would recommend you use them for your wedding, you wont be disappointed!

My husband and I got married here in October 2016 and it was absolutely the best. Samantha and Kelli were our contacts and we can't say enough about how amazing they were. The venue is so beautiful and food is so amazing. We have had so many of our guests rave about what a perfect venue this was, and this was the best wedding that they had been to! The staff is very professional and Samantha is always just a phone call or email away if there are any questions. They are so good about walking your through the process for planning the event, it's almost like having a wedding planner!

My husband and I had our wedding & reception at Purgatory Golf Course on 9/10/16. We were extremely impressed from the start. Samantha was our main contact throughout the process, and we loved her. She answered ALL of my questions, bounced around ideas with us, and was very accommodating. She is legitimately like your personal wedding planner. The line of communication was always open! The day of our wedding, the staff including Kelli, Nick, and Holly were amazing! Our wedding was planned to be outside, but Mother Nature had her own plans. Kelli kept a very cool manner the entire time (which helped me stay cool, too). We decided to move everything inside, and it went very smoothly. We received many compliments about the decor and environment of Purgatory! The food & drinks were delicious. All of our guests loved it. My husband says Purgatory made everything easy peezy lemon squeezy. If you're looking for a wedding venue - you definitely need to be booking Purgatory! Thank you Purgatory for making our wedding memorable & perfect!!

I wanted an upscale country wedding and chose Purgatory Golf Club. We made an appointment with Samantha the Wedding Coordinator and Head Chef there and she was amazing. She worked very hard with me and allowed me every request I had from alternating napkin colors to setting up the tables exactly how I wished. We had our tasting in January because we wanted to cater with them. The tasting wasn't what I thought it would be so she gave us another one free of charge and it was spectacular! I didn't know what to expect but she made everything very clear and easy to work with. The ceremony was on sight and contributed to the higher venue cost but it was worth every penny and this is why: The ceremony chairs were a pretty white, the staff decorated the patio with beautiful potted flowers and plants, and they set up and tore down everything except the arch I had specially made for the venue. There is also a gazebo you can use but I chose the patio because I wanted my arch. Now the food. PLEASE use their catering. I've never had food seriously as good as the food Samantha's kitchen produced. We ordered garlic & cracked pepper spiced top round beef and sun dried tomato and mozzarella stuff chicken with a pesto cream sauce as our main protein and it was so excellently cooked I was floored! We also had a mashed potato bar which was a HUGE hit! The salad bar was fresh and delicious as were the hot green beans. We also had mini beef wellington, a chip and dip bar (homemade tortilla chips!), chicken quesadilla, and goat cheese and sage stuffed mushrooms as our cocktail hour snacks for guests during pictures. The guests said everything was perfect. I had many people from both sides come up and tell me how they had never had food so good at a wedding before. This was restaurant quality food. I have no idea how she managed to make so much food, so good! She made sure everyone had glasses for the toast and champagne as well. We ordered four different wines, two specialty kegs, and used the open bar. The bartender made the most fabulous cocktails that I've ever had and kept my guests very happy. I have never been to a place that has impressed me as far as professionalism and fantastic service with such a large crowd before. Samantha worked very well with outside vendors and made sure everything came together perfectly. The day went off without a hitch and it was absolutely stunning.

Had an amazing time with everyone I loved, the food was amazing although I wasn't thrilled we ran out of some of our side dishes. I was told they would have at least 20% extra so that wouldn't happen.\r\rI would say with communication. Up until the day before everything was perfect. When discussing final invoice there was a $2000 difference in our total and Purgatory’s it eventually came to the same amount but instead of assuming you know what someone is talking about maybe ask more questions. Along with that I was told the event coordinator would be there the morning of to help move tables and make sure everything was on schedule, I went to find her to move tables so everyone didn't have to while I was getting ready and she wasn't there. Bartender told me she would be there around 12, I figured no big deal just 2 hours, so around 1 I went to ask again to move stuff and event coordinator was still not there. Bartender ended up helping and I didn't see the event coordinator until we were announced at our reception.\r\rOverall I would recommend Purgatory to anyone just be aware of your expectations.

Bartender ended up helping and I didn't see the event coordinator until we were announced at our reception.\r\rOverall I would recommend Purgatory to anyone just be aware of your expectations.

Purgatory Golf Course was the perfect place for me to get married. The facility was gorgeous, they were so accomodating, and the food was some of the best wedding food I've ever had. From our very first meeting, we were impressed with the professionalism and facilites. While we had met with several other places that were trying to nickle and dime for everything from lights, linens, etc., Purgatory was a refreshing change from the norm. They were very willing to work with us on everything we wanted for the day and helped pull it all together. We had great access to the building to get set up, Mandy and her staff were helpful with final arrangements. The food options were vast, and it was easy to find something everyone would like. and the best part: it tasted great! everyone is still raving about how good the dinner was, and how nothing was dry or overdone like is typical at a buffet service. They kept the whole evening running smoothly. Their prices were very competitive, and we had the absolute perfect evening. It was just as we pictured it to be, and Purgatory Golf Course helped make it that way.

Jon, the longtime wedding coordinator and talented chef left Purgatory about halfway through our wedding planning process to spend more time with his family. He was AMAZING. His replacements are not. The new wedding coordinator became increasingly difficult as the wedding approached and was extremely rude at my rehearsal. The wait staff was rude to my guests. If you opt for an open bar like we did beware that the bartenders are resentful of actually having to work. The food has also become your typical wedding fare which was a huge disappointment bc I know when Jon was there they were known for their food. Overall the venue is beautiful and so intimate and the prices are a good value. If they would fix their current staff issues it would be an amazing venue. I'm so upset bc I feel like my experience would have been totally different if Jon was still there.

Jon Hicks is the chef and wedding coordinator...he made everything so smooth and easy. The food was amazing, the place is gorgeous with indoor and outdoor space and the price is extremely reasonable!

My wedding was held at this venue and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was wonderful, very helpful and easy to work with. The chef there is amazing and made a meal that numerous guests commented was the best wedding dinner they had ever had. The banquet room is charming -- rustic but elegant -- with a beautiful fireplace. The scenery outside is also magnificent and my photographer took some wonderful pictures. For all of this, the cost was also reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this venue.
