Nestled in the mountains and overlooking Phillips Lake, The Lucerne Inn is in one of the most beautiful locations in Maine. Located right at the Inn is a picturesque golf course, a large outdoor swimming pool, beautiful gazebos and outdoor patios.
The venue was beautiful and my wedding was lovely. The food was great and the waitstaff was fabulous. The service from the event coordinator was lacking... I originally found the Lucerne Inn because I really connected to Chelsey and planned to hire her as my day of event coordinator. Unfortunately, Chelsey was out on maternity leave for my wedding so I worked with Heather. Leading up to the event there were multiple issues with my room block and many of my guest's reservations, due to a new reservation system. The day before and the day of the event multiple small issues arose making the day of more stressful for me and my maid of honor. Multiple vendors arrived to the Lucerne asking for the bridal sweet only to be met with confusion from the front desk staff as they were unaware there was a wedding or a bridal sweet, despite coordinating with Heather the night before about hair/make up and my photographer and their arrival times. Any time I reached out for assistance from Heather I was met with resistance always wanting me to come to her on the morning of my wedding. Despite paying for the golf cart rental I was told that it was only to be used right before the ceremony and could not be used to assist my 96 year old grandmother down the hill for pictures a couple hours prior to the ceremony. Despite arranging a day of contact with Heather for any questions or concerns and specifically reviewing what I wanted the bar to be stocked with months in advance Heather asked a different member of the wedding party on the day of the wedding if a portion of my bar would be a cash bar, completing changing my previous request. My husband and I requested a special bottle of wine for the sweetheart table months in advance, were told they would be able to provide it, only to be told at my wedding reception that the bottle of wine never arrived. The bar served drinks in cheap plastic cups. If I knew what I know now, I would have purchased my own event cups for the bar and I would have hired an outside day of coordinator. Athena Whetsel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2022 The Lucerne Inn were great to work with for our wedding. Their coordinator, Chelsey, is so kind and helpful. She was always so easy to communicate with and very responsive. Absolute pleasure to work with and fabulous at what she does. The venue owners are onsite and also very nice and helpful. The reception staff were outstanding with their service and the food was delicious. We planned our wedding from across the country so we were unable to meet with Chelsey in person for any of the planning, yet everything was still executed perfectly. It was so nice having a venue that was all inclusive with the food, drinks, tables, chairs, ceremony site, and accommodations. That made planning much easier. Reviewed on 22-10-2022
Miranda Monk(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-07-2022 I simply cannot say enough positive things about this venue. The entire process from staff to finish was phenomenal. The owners of the Inn are as accommodating as possible and were so sweet to work with on the day of the event. Chelsey, the wedding coordinator for the Inn is as fabulous as it gets. She is prompt, professional and has a calming presence which helps many brides. We had a unexpected thunderstorm come through 15 min before our ceremony and the whole staff worked with us just to push everything back 30 min to allow us to have the outdoor ceremony of our dreams. We were so incredibly impressed with their flexibility and accommodations. Our guests raved about the food, the quality of the staff and the gorgeous views this venue offers. The whole weekend was flawless from start to finish. Would get married here 10x over. Reviewed on 05-07-2022

Celina Bruneau(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-02-2019 The Lucerne Inn is a beautiful place to get married with so many options of ceremony and reception spots on the property with breathtaking views of Maine’s lakes and mountains! Chelsey is the coordinator and she is extremely quick to respond to requests and inquiries with such great customer service. The price point is fantastic for everything you get with this venue and your guests will love this quaint inn from the 1800’s! With fireplaces galore and one in each room, this was the perfect venue for our winter wedding. The food was absolutely delectable and was the talk of our guests for sure! The owners are always around as well and willing to assist with anything along with their adorable golden retrievers! Everything about Lucerne made our wedding day and rehearsal everything we ever dreamed of! Reviewed on 20-03-2019
Jacob Eggert(groom)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-05-2018 The employee who helped us book our stay was incredible! The prices on the website were actually lower than they should have been when we booked so he thought we were going to have to pay more, but he allowed us to stay for the lower rate! The Lucerne Inn is beautiful and placed in a beautiful location. That being said, we probably would not have been happy with our stay had the price been any higher. Many of the Inn's amenities had not yet been open for the season or were out of order (no mini fridge, wifi, or working fireplace in our room). We ended up spending most of the day in Ellsworth and left early the next morning. Some employees were not especially helpful, while others were friendly and kind. Next time we will opt for another venue. Reviewed on 10-07-2018
Laura Archer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2013 Everyone at The Lucerne Inn is great. It starts with the event planners, Meghann and Jason. Seriously don't know what I would do without them. They made sure everything was in order, were involved as much as I wanted them to be or they thought they needed to be when I was pre-occupied. Everything went off without a hitch. From contacting them about information to a checklist they go through that literally has everything on it. The waitstaff on our wedding night were great, she made sure that if we needed anything we had it. Seriously the views are gorgeous and you can get everything in one place. It made everything such a breeze. Reviewed on 09-11-2013
Rebecca Beaumont(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-06-2012 What more could you ask for? Brian and Danielle are amazing. I never had to wait for a response through email, which was my main source of contact during my wedding planning. They were always able to meet with me, very flexible schedule. I wanted a special purple cocktail drink, they made a sign for me for the bar and found a flavor that was purple. I wanted special napkin folding, they did it. Brian wore a tie that matched my wedding colors on my wedding day. The little things they do, mean the most. The Lucerne in general is beautiful. I'm so thankful it did not rain so I could have the ceremony at the gazebo, but they had the covered patio set up just in case. Very organized!! They have free taste testing for food (we had the buffet). We were full after leaving the taste test. Food is yummy! Please consider The Lucerne Inn. You won't regret it. Reviewed on 30-06-2012

Candy Kelley-Welch(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-07-2010 I loved my wedding at the Lucerne Inn! To start, comparing prices of similar venues in Maine, the Lucerne was very affordable. They offer many different menu choices, and even had a kid option. They have a very nice brochure which displays accurate photos, prices, menu choices, and a list of recommended vendors. The event staff was very helpful with timelines and directing us throughout the whole process. The wait staff was also very good, and prior to our wedding we finalized what food and drinks are preferred by our guests. The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception was amazing. There was 3 weddings the same day, but I did not even notice. I still to this day receive comments from my guests about how my wedding was the best wedding they've ever been to. I strongly recommend having your wedding here. Reviewed on 07-11-2011

Casey Ellis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-06-2011 They were fantastic from start to finish. I'd recommend working with Brian. He was so calming, and made me feel secure that everything would work out well. We had a fun, casual reception with a cocktail hour, buffet, and live band on their outdoor patio. The waitstaff was tremendous and communicating with my husband and I throughout the reception... they kept our drinks constantly topped off, and reminded us about things like the cake cutting, etc. They were kind, wonderful people, and the service was excellent. The service at the open bar was fast, and the food was delicious. Because it was a buffet, the atmosphere was very social -- guests didn't feel confined to their tables, so there was a lot of mingling throughout the reception. The music had to end at 10pm (because of a lakeside quiet policy), but they allowed our guests to hang out longer in the room off of the patio. Our guests had a fabulous time, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Reviewed on 06-07-2011
Brenda Shaheen(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2010 Was a beautiful wedding and for the most part the wedding coordinators did a decent job. We had a waiter named Jason who was amazingly great. He was the only person who we can say that about in the entire building. They lost our deposit 4 times and then did not have us in the bridal suite the night before the wedding even though we were supposed to have it. They were non-apologetic thus far. Had to get ready in smaller room with cramped bathroom. Jets in tub were broken. Had to move rooms in the middle of our reception to the correct suite. Wedding and ceremony went well. Drinks at the bar turned out to be a bad mistake after the reception. 3 weddings going on that day and night and the bar was loud and filled with drunks.. it got way out of hand and the Lucerne lost control of the situation. Bar maid was not courteous, patient or friendly. So overall the people there were not overly helpful or respectful. We spent a lot of money and felt like they should have been bending over backwards and they were pretty much ignoring us and not giving us the service we paid so much money for.
