The Mackey House is a mansion wedding venue located in Savannah, GA. Just five minutes from downtown Savannah, this colonial-style house with its beautiful gardens has been a sought-after wedding venue for over 16 years. First purchased in 1931 by Harry E. Martin, Jr., the property was named Red Gate Farms by Harry’s wife, Mamie. Many years later, in 1997, their granddaughter, Laura, and her husband, Fred Mackey, built their own home at Red Gate Farms. Laura and Fred hosted their daughter Tonya’s wedding at their home. Afterward, they received many requests from friends and family to host their own events at the Mackey House. The house soon became one of Savannah’s premier wedding venues. The Mackey House is set on 150 acres and boasts picturesque gardens with a pond, tropical ferns, palm trees, and outdoor fountains. It features six indoor and outdoor spaces that can host ceremonies and receptions with up to 300 guests, as well as engagement parties and showers. Ceremonies can be held on the stunning 2,600 square-foot outdoor pavilion, which features a foyer and a fireplace, or on the sweeping lawn. For receptions, couples can choose the spacious covered deck with a dance floor and atmospheric lighting, or the historic interior of the house. Suites are available for the couple to get ready before the event. The venue can provide a multitude of services, including catering, an in-house bar, overnight accommodations, transport, photography, sound, lighting, and more. They also offer setup and cleanup.

Thank you to the Mackey House team. After touring countless wedding venues, we thought we would never find one that had everything we were looking for. My mom and I stumbled on the Mackey House one night and instantly fell in love. All of the string lights, the gorgeous white house, the fountains and pond, the tents, the bridal suite/groom's room -- everything was perfect! The amazing staff was an added bonus. Shelley and her team were incredible and so on top of things leading up to our big day. The team there the day of was so attentive and truly cared about making our day so special. They kept everything running smoothly and made sure everyone was having a blast. It was truly the best day ever and we couldn't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else!! Could not say enough good things about the Mackey House & their stellar team! We live in Brooklyn but my husband is from Savannah, and we had our hearts set on getting married there. They were so helpful in planning a beautiful wedding from start to finish. We got married on 5/27, which ended up being about 50 degrees and raining - not quite what we expected from a Savannah summer weekend! Shelley and Shavonne were in touch that entire week about creating the perfect rain plan. We ended up moving from the garden to the pavillion, where they set a fire and our guests crowded around for a beautiful, intimate ceremony, and the rest of the night went on as planned! All of their covered spaces had heat/AC and blocked any wind or rain coming through, so it still very much felt like an outdoor wedding. We truly wouldn't have changed a thing and so much of that is due to the creativity of the team.

We got married at the Mackey House this past weekend and could not have pictured a more perfect venue!! Everything about the venue was incredible and our guests could not get over how pretty it was! We received numerous comments that followed along the lines of \"This is the prettiest wedding venue we have ever been to.\" I also want to shoutout Dave and Shelley who were both amazing to work with! Are you looking for the best wedding venue in Savannah? Then you've found it in the Mackey house! I've grown up in Savannah, but only found the venue when looking for my wedding. It's perfect!! The Mackey House was a dream come true for our wedding venue! We couldn't have asked for a better day. They were so helpful throughout our wedding planning process and answered all my questions and concerns as they popped up. All of our guests raved over the stunning property, organization throughout the event, and overall wonderful experience! We had Dave Gibson as our DJ and day-of coordinator and he couldn't have done a better job! He was entertaining, solved every problem, and on top of his game. It was the best dance party and the best time we could have had! Our wedding day and night was seamless and to me that is priceless!

We had our wedding at the Mackey House on November 18th and if I could give them 10 stars, I would! I cannot express how amazing the Mackey House truly is! Our wedding was a destination wedding simply due to my husband and I loving the romantic feel of Savannah, GA. From my first visit there, I knew it was everything I wanted in a wedding venue, from its long driveway through the trees, to its romantic southern charm. The venue was exactly what I pictured for my wedding day! We had our ceremony on the lawn, dinner in the pavilion, and dancing up on the deck; everything ran great! The Mackey House team were some of the best people I've ever met, they were all so helpful! I definitely recommend having Dave as both your day of coordinator and DJ; he's fantastic and listened to all of my ideas while also offering great recommendations of his own! While you do have to choose from a catering list they provide, Thrive Catering was perfect and everyone absolutely loved the food! The whole day was a dream and everyone put in the work to make my wedding dreams happen! All of my friends and family are still talking about how beautiful and amazing our wedding was! I cannot thank the Mackey House enough!

We had an awesome time using the Mackey House as our wedding venue! The property is beautiful, with many different areas for pictures and ceremony/celebration. We were glad to be able to use different areas of the property for different parts of our wedding. The property is even more impressive at night with all their lights on display. We were very thankful for the staff and bartenders for keeping our guests happy and had our party running smoothly. Any last minute concerns I had were addressed promptly, which I appreciated! Their team has meetings leading up to the big day to make sure everything is set up as requested. I was grateful for this as we wanted to be fully present with our friends and family during the event. I would recommend the Mackey House to others getting married...we had a blast!

He killed it. He is extremely personable and is hands down the best at all that he does. Despite all the stress and craziness the hurricane brought to us, The Mackey House made sure it was a success in every way. Just go ahead and book this venue! I was sold from the moment we turned into the long, winding driveway amongst so many beautiful trees. The venue is absolutely stunning! Every turn you make is another gasp-worthy moment. From the gardens to the bridal/groom suites, everything is picture-perfect. Our guests came all the way to Savannah from Canada and boy did they think it was worth it once they pulled in. All of our guests were in awe. The staff as the Mackey House were all so helpful and professional. We knew we were in good hands from day 1. Shelley and Dave really helped ease any anxieties before the big day and on day of, Dave and Chavon took care of everything and I didn't have a single worry. None of us wanted the night to end!

The Mackey House was a dream! The property is even more gorgeous in person, our family is still talking about it. It was so convenient to have the ceremony, dinner, and reception within one venue while using different spaces on the property. Dave, Shelley, and the entire team are SO helpful and accommodating, they were truly willing to do anything to make our day perfect. You can tell how experienced they are, and they had great ideas to enhance our day and decrease any stress. We cannot recommend this venue enough!

Got married here on 3/28/2022 during the morning. Beautiful venue with lots of space. No complaints. We read on the Knot about an issue with day of coordination so we brought our own and didn't experience any issues in the planning phase with Mackey House.\"Groom\" ready room is not as spacious as bridal ready room and seems a bit like an afterthought but functional.Beware that the deck now has a roof (that's not all wood) and plastic siding. Essentially making it a hot box during a warm day. Even though the plastic sides were drawn back, it was still hot and the dance floor is right in the middle of the sun. I'm sure they will add more fans but I'm not sure there's much that can be done with regards to the dance floor. Maybe just remember this if having a wedding during the day time.Thankfully, their on site people were very helpful and attentive. When they were notified that we were hot, they brought fans out for us at the table. Would totally recommend them over and over again.

The staff is extremely accommodating & ensures that your special day goes smoothly and perfectly! You must pick from a list of caterers for food; however, the list is amazing and the catering service we chose (Delightful Catering) was sooooooo good! Some may see the price and think it’s not worth it but it absolutely is! I nor my family had to lift a finger on my wedding day, so I think that’s worth paying a little extra!

The Mackey House was absolutely perfect for our wedding in Savannah. We fell in love with it immediately and planned our dream wedding in less than 6 months thanks to the staff at Mackey House. They made our lives so much easier and helped guide us in our planning process. I truly felt that the entire day was handled so well, and I knew everything would be taken care of by staff so I could thoroughly enjoy myself on the wedding day. Multiple wedding guests said it was the best wedding and venue that they had ever been to. Special shout-out to Diamond Dave and Shelley. Dave took care of coordinating everything, making announcements to guests, making sure my husband and I were taken care of, and played awesome music! Shelley was super helpful in the planning process. Could not recommend the Mackey House enough! It was truly the best day of our lives :)

The Mackey House was absolutely perfect for our wedding in Savannah. We fell in love with it immediately and planned our dream wedding in less than 6 months thanks to the staff at Mackey House. They made our lives so much easier and helped guide us in our planning process. I truly felt that the entire day was handled so well, and I knew everything would be taken care of by staff so I could thoroughly enjoy myself on the wedding day. Multiple wedding guests said it was the best wedding and venue that they had ever been to. Special shout-out to Diamond Dave and Shelley. Dave took care of coordinating everything, making announcements to guests, making sure my husband and I were taken care of, and played awesome music! Shelley was super helpful in the planning process. Could not recommend the Mackey House enough! It was truly the best day of our lives :)

My daughter's wedding was held at the Mackey House a couple weeks ago. It was truly a magical event. This sprawling space is breath taking at every turn, the staff is professional, everyone is at the top of the wedding game. My husband and I had so many guests tell us that it was the best wedding they had ever attended. If you are planning a wedding in Savannah, you must visit this venue.

The Mackey House passes 5 stars for us. I am from Savannah and never thought that we could afford to have our dream wedding here, but much to my surprise, it was much cheaper than other venues we were considering. We worked with Shelley and Dave and let me tell you, they are absolutely amazing. They really helped our dream wedding come true and provided one beautiful location to host both our ceremony and reception. I would recommend The Mackey House over and over., thank you all again!

We celebrated our daughter and son-in-laws wedding on June 24, 2021 at The Mackey House. It was truly flawless and it was our fairly tale wedding! DAVE-what can we say about Dave!!!! Our wedding coordinator, our DJ, and the man that kept our nerves at bay! He was absolutley wonderful and there are no words to tell you how much we APPRECIATED your guidance throughout this process. If we could give this venue and the staff more than five stars we would. Ms. Mackey, it was a pleasure speaking with you at the reception and we appreciate all your advice on things to do in Tybee! YOU ALL EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTIONS AND WE TRULY HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES!!!

We are not local to the South but wanted to have our Dream Southern wedding. The Mackey House was the first venue we toured and needless to say we did not need to see any others! We absolutely fell in love with the dreamy garden, fountains, and picturesque romantic setting, perfect for our intimate reception. The front steps are great for bridal portraits or bridal party photos and the twinkling lights at night warmed the atmosphere making our dreams come true. The staff proved to be absolutely wonderful and made sure everything went according to plan. This venue will always hold a special place in our hearts!

We were warned time and time again that this day would fly by and The Mackey House made it so we could enjoy every part of our wedding! Well do I begin, our wedding was AMAZING. The Mackey house was such a beautiful location for our special day. They always worked with us and whenever we had any questions, they answered in no time. Dave was such a joy to talk to and work with, I wouldn’t have it any other way. All of my guest had such a good time & every-time our wedding is brought up in conversations, they rave about the Mackey house. I definitely recommend this & loved every second we were there. They had rooms available for us, the bride and groom, prior to the wedding, each location is a great back drop for any type of photo taken & the dance floor gave such a fun aspect to our party!

Dave was such a joy to talk to and work with, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My husband and I got married at The Mackey House September 2020 and it was a fairytale. I couldn't have been happier with how the day turned out. Even getting married in the middle of a global pandemic it was everything I ever dreamed of and more. I moved to GA in 2016 and heard of the Mackey house shortly after moving and have wanted to get married there ever since. I knew when we got engaged and start looking that there was no other place I'd rather go. Dave and Shelly are nothing short of amazing, they were extremely helpful from day one of planning all the way to the end of the night on our big day. They were both always so responsive and made sure to put our minds at ease with everything. The venue itself is breathtaking, my guests still compliment it when they come around. It is so stunning and beautifully decorated. Every time we drove to the venue, coming around the corner and seeing the venue would literally make my jaw drop. It never got old, it was always such a beautiful experience. The day of the wedding, Dave was so helpful with everything going on and made me feel so comfortable so that I could just enjoy my day and then he was an amazing DJ at our reception. If you are planning on getting married at the Mackey house and aren't sure if you want to purchase dave's DJ services, let me be the one to push you to go for it. Our day wouldn't have been the same without him the entire ceromony and reception.My husband was actually deployed for a good amount of the year while we were planning so I was alone during most of the planning and Dave was sure to be so helpful and also was able to include my husband in the process which made me feel so much better. There is no doubt that your special day will be everything you want in a wedding if you book at The Mackey House. There's no need to continue looking around, you have found the perfect dream venue right here. Thank you again to Dave, Shelly and the rest of the wonderful staff for making all of my dreams come true. I wish we could rewind and live it all over again.

The Mackey House was exactly what I visioned my wedding day to look like! From the outdoor ceremony by the fountain to the reception on the deck, everything was so beautiful. One of my favorite things about the Mackey House is all the space and different areas for the guest. We had our ceremony in the lawn by the fountain, our cocktail hour in the pavilion, and our reception on the deck. Also, we had cornhole boards and a cigar bar out in the garden and the basement was perfect for anyone who needed to relax for a minute. I was a covid bride and had to rescheduled my original wedding date. The Mackey House made the transition so easy and stress free! If you're looking to get married in the Savannah area, I highly recommend the Mackey House!

This is not a review coming from vengence, rather a review coming from pure disappointment that I hope no other bride has to experience--particularly those of you trying to plan your wedding during COVID. Lewis and I traveled to Savannah to look at venues since his family is in GA, and I wanted a dreamy, outside wedding with Spanish moss. As SOON as I saw The Mackey House, I thought, \"This is it.\" I loved the venue. We met with the salesperson, who brought us champagne and little chocolates (really accenting how perfect this venue would be). The charm and professionalism slightly tapered when we started working with the salesperson and COMPLETELY dropped after we signed our contract. Throughout the viewing, the salesperson kept promoting his wife's work as a designer even though I had expressed my desire to design the venue. Moreover, he didn't seem comfortable speaking to a woman as he kept directing his pitch to my then-fiance. All of this I could understand and did as we moved forward with signing. Then, communication dropped off completely. The person in charge of connecting with us was so unprepared and unprofessional that they made multiple appointments to speak with me over the phone and never followed through on any. I ended up calling them, which resulted in a really unprofessional conversation where I learned entirely too much about their personal life. Again, I could overlook this as after I complained of the unprofessionalism, I was assigned a different person as the point of contact. Then came COVID. My husband is in the Air Force National Guard in Spokane, WA. We waited until April 2020 to decide to cancel our June 2020 wedding as we realized that we were not going to be able to plan a date in the foreseeable future that would be safe for our family or that my husband could attend. (The Air Force restricted his travel until the mandates moved to a different stage.) What was a truly devastating disappointment was made so much worse as The Mackey House offered no support in our cancelation. While other vendors understood the devastion that couples were going through and immediately offered options for support, The Mackey House made the cancelation so much more difficult. All of my other vendors, aside from one small business who could still uphold their contact, returned the entire deposit and any advancement we had made as they knew it was the right thing to do; The Mackey House wasn't even going to return our advanced payments to us. After having many lengthy conversations, we were returned that money, but we still never received our deposit. This is upsetting as they aren't able to uphold their contact and move us to a next available date (which is unforeseeable ATM) and are counting on the fact that we can't take them to court to prove this. Though the venue is remarkable, the service is absolutely classless and will ultimately result in stressful wedding planning.

Beautiful venue! Our guests could not stop raving about how pretty, welcoming, and well-kept The Mackey House really is! Our special day could not have gone any better! The staff was excellent! At first there seemed to be a lot of turnover and moving pieces. The staff that remained stepped in and took full control eventhough there were things to be addressed that were not necessarily their responsibility. That was HUGE especially since we were planning from afar. I didn't have to worry about anything and it was crystal clear that they have this down to an art. Everything was handled and organized to the last detail, even things I hadn't thought of! Our day was perfect! Diamond Dave and Shelley, thank you so much for all you contributed! It was perfect and everything we wanted it to be! Many thanks for the assistance, support, and advice. Our wedding would not have been such a success without these two individuals! Be sure to get Dave involved in your party, he was awesome! Great establishment, great staff, best party EVER! Thank you so much!

The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. Despite a severe thunderstorm warning when I was supposed to be starting my ceremony, I was still able to have my outside wedding with only a minor delay. I appreciated how well that situation was handled. My wedding day was amazing. However, during my wedding planning, there was a lot of turnover with the staff at the Mackey House. I went through about 3 different day of coordinators/points of contact within a year. For the amount of money the venue costs to rent, I expected more organization from the Mackey House team

All I have to say about this place is that it is magical!! Just kidding…I have a lot more to say… step one of wedding planning for us was finding the venue – The Mackey House was actually one of the first places I stumbled across. Just from the looks of it, I thought to myself that this was the wedding venue of my dreams & that there was no way we could afford to have our wedding here. But – not only is this venue beautiful beyond belief – it is affordable. We had our consultation there with Elizabeth (who was sweet as can be) but then continued on with our search to see if there were any other venues that would be suitable for our big day. Only to find that nothing seemed more right than choosing The Mackey House.When the day finally came – this day that brought a forecast of such dreadful weather (100% chance of strong winds, thunderstorms, tornado warnings) – the staff was so quick to do their best to keep us positive and to let us know that they were going to do everything they could to make sure we still had the beautiful wedding we sought to have here. Much to our surprise, an hour before the ceremony was set to begin, the rain stopped, and the sun came out. Dave assured us that their goal at this time was to dry off all the chairs in the garden so that we could have the ceremony outside as we had originally planned.To bring this review to a close, I just want to thank everyone at The Mackey House. Elizabeth and Brooke were extremely helpful and quick to respond in the beginning stages. Shelley was so accommodating when it came to scheduling our rehearsal and in discussing all the final touches. And Dave was just an extreme pleasure to work with. Never was there a moment that I looked at him or needed his assistance that he did not have a warm and genuine smile on his face. This venue, the staff, the atmosphere, the decorations – everything about this place is magical!!

Me and my husband recently had our wedding at The Mackey House and it was incredible! The venue is absolutely breath taking! When me and my parents were touring venues we absolutely fell in love with The Mackey House and I knew it was the one when it brought my mom to tears. Everyone at The Mackey House went above and beyond to make our wedding so great! Elizabeth and Dave were wonderful and had everything covered. It did rain on my wedding day so we had to change the floor plans last minute and everyone was so accommodating, they also were prepared and had umbrellas for everyone to use. I felt like I was not compromising anything when I had to unexpectedly change my floor plans last minute because all of the spaces at the house are so so stunning.If you are looking to get married in Savannah, I highly recommend you consider The Mackey House for your wedding!

The Mackey House knows how to throw a party - and do it right. They pay attention to every detail and truly want to make your day perfect. I had no issues with my October wedding. Most of our guests were from the Northeast and were floored by the magical setting the Mackey House provides. I really liked using all 3 areas - the garden, pavilion and deck for our ceremony, dinner then dancing. Everything was pristine, the staff was very kind and attentive and everyone had fun! One recommendation - get a day of coordinator. You nor anyone in your family/friends can run this venue on the day-of. It is very large and has a ton of moving parts. Do yourself a favor and invest in a good one. We had Anna Kate Events and loved her.

The Mackey House is such a beautiful venue. My husband and I just got married there & it rained the entire time, but their back up plan (under the pavilion) was just as beautiful as the outdoor garden area we had planned to use for our ceremony. The scenery is just amazing there! So many places to get beautiful photos. We had 81 guests attend our wedding, so our reception was up on the deck & it was very comfortable/not too crowded. Since the deck is covered, the rain wasn't an issue. The staff at the Mackey House is great. Shelley is very personable & was a pleasure to work with. They will recommend vendors if you need them & help in any way they can. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone. We had a wonderful experience at the Mackey House. This place deserves more than 5 stars!

I can’t give enough stars to express how amazing the Mackey House venue and team were. My husband and I got married there on May 6, 2018. Everything was amazing from the beginning of wedding planning to the very end. I worked with Caroline and Shelley, who both went out of their way to help make sure everything was exactly how we wanted. They were always prompt in answering any questions I had and helped make the wedding planning process a breeze! We worked with Jordon and Dave for the DJ/Director/MC. They both were excellent! The Rehearsal was fun and went so smoothly and the day of the wedding flowed perfectly and the music selection was a hit! They both were so personal and so fun to work with. Because of them, I didn’t have to worry about a single thing the day of the wedding. They made sure everything happened the way we wanted and when.I hired Rays BBQ as the caterer. Ray was great to work with and very accommodating. Not to mention all of the food was absolutely delicious! I can not thank the Mackey House team enough for all they did to help make our wedding day everything we could have ever wanted and dreamed of. Each one of them were a pleasure to work with and made the planning process such a breeze that I was worried I was forgetting something because I wasn’t stressing! Ha! Our guests are still telling us how amazing our wedding was and how much they enjoyed it.I would highly recommend the Mackey House. The venue is GORGEOUS and the staff is professional, accommodating, and fun to work with!

The venue itself was beautiful and I could not have been more blown away by the setting and decoration. However - we hired The Mackey House’s exclusive DJ as our DJ/MC/Day of Coordinator and this is the reason for the low rating. The day of our wedding he chased down my husband while he was taking pictures with his groomsmen and asked for his Spotify account information... if you advertise as a DJ I would assume you have your own music library! During the cocktail hour he played odd elevator type music, and at the reception the music kept skipping because he was playing music off of YOUTUBE. He also started the music off with “a history of the electric slide” and played several organized dance songs in a row until a bridesmaid asked him to move on to something else.. he then played 3 Backstreet Boys songs in a row... Additionally, several details I had gone over with him as our Day of Coordinator were not done as well ex. Champagne toast already poured on tables was not done, he also had me fill out several worksheets and meet with him 2x prior to the wedding but the day of was not sure of any of the information we had gone over... like I said, beautiful venue, not a great DJ/Day of Coordinator.

It was a very beautiful venue and the guest loved it. Caroline, the event coordinator was also so easy and fun to work with!! My only warning is it is very expensive and there is a monopoly on what caterers you can use. This venue is definitely for a splurging budget. But truly was a magical night!

The Mackey House was great. We had our ceremony in the garden and our reception on the deck. It was a BLAST and beautiful!We used their DJ/Entertainment services and Dave was great at helping us set up the whole flow of our day! When we first started planning, they were having some changes in their event coordinators and that was frustrating but once that was sorted out we had no more issues. Between Dave and the coordinator, Jessica, we were able to get helpful tips and vendor options. The only suggestion/thing we would change: the sparkler exit. The sparklers are the short ones that don't last very long and they had our guests light them too early. As a result, by the time we got to the bottom of the stairs, most peoples sparklers were out.... luckily our photographer said she can edit them back in for our photos.Speaking of photos: we learned that they removed our photographer (Jamie of DreamWeaver) from their preferred vendor list, which I think is a huge mistake on their part- she knows the venue like NO OTHER photographer we spoke with.

BAAAAHAHA ... There is NO WAY... that pavillion is \"climate controlled\". WHAT A JOKE, ARE YOU SERIOUS!? This is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen any venue do in my life. Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to start with this review. The Mackey House is absolutely incredible. They are so personal with each of their brides and make each wedding as unique as you would like. The venue is without a doubt beautiful and they make sure no matter what the season that the venue stays as beautiful as you remembered when you book. All I can say is you would regret picking any other vendor. The planning process with the Mackey House was a breeze. They will answer all of your questions and calm all of your nerves any time that you need. Someone is always available to talk to and if someone doesn't have the answer then they find someone who does. They seriously always have your back and make sure that your wedding is everything you dreamed of. While planning my wedding I had 3 different Bridal managers as they were going through some changes, but it went so smoothly. Each manager always made sure to introduce themselves and meet up to make sure they knew every detail about our wedding. Caroline was incredible and a quick intro meeting took an hour just because she wanted to get to know me and my fiance so well. The owner of the Mackey House would even email me every other month just to check in and make sure things were going well. We had a bump in the road with their recommended vendor and the Mackey House got right on the case to make sure things were fixed. Any other venue would say that we were on our own and it was out of their hands but the Mackey House takes their recommendations seriously and always back up their brides. Now. If I have any advice it would be to book their coordinator/DJ Dave Gibson. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Dave was like a cool uncle through the whole process. He always helped us come up with cool ideas for the wedding to make things personal and always calmed any anxious thoughts. Dave made the rehearsal A BREEZE and organized the wedding so perfectly. I mean I don't know how brides get married ever without someone like Dave. The day of Dave stays on top of everything. He makes sure that if something goes wrong, it is fixed and the bride will never even know until after the wedding. Dave will make sure that the Bride and Groom enjoy the wedding and do not get stuck running around or talking to people for hours. The week of our wedding I was in tears due to the expected rain on our wedding day. It was truly my biggest worry about the wedding. However, the day of the wedding Dave took care of it and honestly the rain was a perfect touch looking back at it. When I arrived, Dave made it clear that he would wait until last minute to make the call so that I would still have a chance of my garden wedding. He even took me for a walk around the grounds 2 hours before the wedding to show me where things would be moved around if rain were to come. Well, the rain came and Dave had everything moved around so quickly. He helped our guest be escorted by umbrellas and had all the arrangements made so that the guest would still enjoy the ceremony. We moved to the deck which was my fear but it ended up being BEAUTIFUL. For a bride that was crying about the rain, I didn't even care the day of because, the backup plan was truly beautiful and Dave had it all figured out. Seriously, BOOK THE MACKEY HOUSE. Not only is it a beautiful venue but it is a family that quickly invades your heart and makes your wedding absolutely perfect.

For a bride that was crying about the rain, I didn't even care the day of because, the backup plan was truly beautiful and Dave had it all figured out. Seriously, BOOK THE MACKEY HOUSE. Not only is it a beautiful venue but it is a family that quickly invades your heart and makes your wedding absolutely perfect.

We just had our wedding a little over a week ago and I'll start off by saying my wedding day at The Mackey House wasn't better than I ever could have imagined! We were recommended to The Mackey House by a family friend and it was the first venue we decided to visit. From the moment we drove in, we instantly fell in love with it! The house is able to capture the southern charm and elegance of Savannah all in one. The staff is absolutely amazing and from day one, they kept in touch and knew exactly what to do and made me feel so comfortable the entire time. They are so welcoming and truly want to create a stress free, amazing experience. Caroline is so sweet and bubbly and truly cares about making you the happiest she can and will do anything in her power to do so. Dave (the day of coordinator and DJ) is absolutely amazing. I can't tell you how many guests came up to me and said how awesome he was. He is all about everyone having a great time and makes you feel so important. I would recommend The Mackey House to anyone looking in the Savannah area and is looking to host a wedding that no one will ever forget! When my husband and I started looking at wedding venues, we found some we liked but there was always a “it would be perfect BUT….” Until we visited The Mackey House! We can still remember driving up to the venue and just being in complete awe. Before we got back in the car after our tour, we both said without hesitation “THIS IS IT!” It is truly EVERYTHING you could ever ask for in a wedding venue and more! From the first day of our tour, The Mackey House staff blew us away. They were very organized, up front with all the costs, and provided great suggestions and recommendations. During the time between when we contracted with them and our wedding day, The Mackey House did transition through a few wedding pre-event planners. Even with those transitions, we never felt that our wedding day plans or any previous discussions were lost or forgotten about. Closer to our wedding date, we worked directly with Jessica to finalize all our wedding details! She was VERY responsive and awesome about helping in any way she could. With some last minute changes, she was very detailed oriented to ensure that what was in their system was up to date and accurate. One thing we would say to anyone looking at doing a wedding at The Mackey House would be that YOU HAVE TO HIRE DAVE!! Hands down the best wedding decision we made! Dave will make your wedding day flawless! He worked with us to plan out our wedding day timeline and gave us great suggestions! He was also open to having us call/text him as things came up or changed, which was extremely helpful! Our guest at our wedding still talk about how GOREGOUS and in awe they were at how beautiful the venue was and that it was by far the prettiest wedding venue they had been to! And not only that, so many of our guests talked about how smooth the wedding went and how great the music was! We truly cannot say thank you enough to Jessica, Dave and the rest of The Mackey House staff for being apart of making our wedding day picture perfect! The venue is beautiful. But don't expect good customer service from them. We drove down from Atlanta to visit the place. And it was as beautiful as it is in the photos. Maybe more. We spoke to Dave who was very nice in person. We wanted to host a 3-day Indian wedding there. We were expecting an email from Dave detailing the cost estimates and dates and details. NOTHING. No email. Fiance called him - he said he would have it in the next few days. NOTHING. He called him a couple more times. I left a strongly worded email. NO RESPONSE. If you can't accommodate us, at least have the decency to respond and let us know. Don't leave us hanging. It was completely unprofessional. Hopefully they are nicer to other couples than they were to us. Such a shame....

I just cannot say enough about this venue. If I could, I would rate it 10 stars! From the professionalism of the staff to the extraordinary and quick responsiveness from our event coordinators... even 6 months before the event! Then the day of the wedding came and I was incredibly confident that everything was taken care of. The trees, the lights and the set up was breathtaking. The bartenders and wait staff were so on point and were checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. And Dave... well he's my superhero. When we came into town, he met with us for about 5 hours on his day off to go over every little detail. He was on all of our calls, giving really great suggestions and advice on every aspect of our wedding. He was our officiant and made the ceremony so special and funny and fun. He was our JD and our guests just loved him. Lastly, he was our day of coordinator and far exceeded any expectations we had. He even helped out a few times after the wedding, which really shows his dedication to making sure I was 150% satisfied. Our wedding was something I had dreamed about forever, and Dave and the rest of the Mackey House staff really made that dream come true.

I fell in love with The Mackey House the moment I saw pictures of it online, and seeing it in person only solidified my feelings. It was so beautiful and such an excellent location for all of our wedding events. The Mackey House staff did such a great job with planning, beautifying, and nailing down every detail. Everyone was super attentive to all of the details we requested and very prompt with any e-mails we sent. The venue was so beautifully decorated everywhere (the twinkle lights were my favorite) and provided such a great backdrop for all of our pictures. We had many guests commenting on how nice it was to be able to wander around the property and see how nicely everything was set up, even in areas where the main events weren't happening. Everyone we worked with at The Mackey House was helpful in making sure our wedding day was everything we wanted and within our price range. I was concerned the deck was going to be cramped considering the amount of guests we had (150), including a 5 piece band and photo booth, but it all fit perfectly and still allowed ample space for dancing. I would HIGHLY recommend The Mackey House for any events!

Their venue was so beautiful that it didn't require a lot of decorating. We loved it for that and for also being a sort of 'one stop shop' for many of our wedding needs. It took away a lot of the stress that wedding planning can bring. I highly recommend using their DJ Dave Gibson - our guests really loved his personality as did we, and felt he made the evening a lot of fun. I also recommend using their decorating services - Improvisions. Michelle was amazing to work with. We were able to just trust in her to understand our vision and she exceeded our expectations! We LOVED the Mackey House - I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a very memorable day!

I only saw a picture of Mackey and I knew this is where I wanted to get married. It is BEAUTIFUL. Great for photos, and an all around good time. They had all of the different spaces I wanted, and for the price they include EVERYTHING. we didn't have to worry about anything. I definitely had a beautiful wedding and I wouldn't change a thing.However, the Mackey House staff is not the easiest to work with. Everytime we would schedule an appointment to discuss details there would either be no one there, or they would be totally surprised that we were there. There was one time that I went for a SCHEDULED appointment and the person assiting me was like \"Oh, did you call yesterday?\" (The appointment had been scheduled a week and a half before). There were also little things that didn't really run as smoothly. Mackey was supposed to provide cutlery for our cake. We went to go cut the cake, no cutlery. My wedding planner and to frantically search through the kitchen to find any type of utensil. We cut our cake with a steak knife...Also, the bar service (we used theres) was supposed to proved a bottle of champagne for my groom and I. When asked, they said they weren't aware. We did get champagne however.Overall like I said it was a beautiful wedding, and I wouldn't change a thing. However, if you are super OCD and worry easily, this may not be the place for you. It got to the point where the week before the wedding I was kind of just like. Oh, well I hope Mackey remembers that I'm getting married. Lol. But seriously. They do AWESOME weddings. You will have a gorgeous wedding and you won't regret the venue. But I had to give 4 stars for there really spastic service.

There truly aren't words enough to express how wonderful our experience was at The Mackey House for our late June 2015 wedding, but I'll give it a try. From the moment we set our hearts on getting married at this venue, the entire staff became very involved in helping us to plan out every detail of our perfect day. Susanna, Shelly and Dave were more professional and responsive than we could ever have asked for and they truly made the daunting task of planning a wedding very enjoyable. They gave us wonderful recommendations for vendors, helped find the perfect place for every little DIY decoration I had prepared for the day and made sure everything leading up to the wedding was very clear and well planned. They even helped facilitate incorporating my quirky 1950's theme into every detail in the decorations! Dave was our coordinator and MC and he made sure that each portion of our day went off without a hitch-- his presence and professionalism was an absolute blessing! The Mackey House was the perfect place for my husband and I to start our new life together and I can't thank them enough for such a wonderful experience!

Dave, the day of coordinator and DJ, is truly amazing at what he does and is such a kind and awesome person. He made planning fun. Our wedding day ran so smoothly thanks to him, and we did not have a single worry that day. We had so much fun with him along the way and especially on the wedding day! Susanna helps with much of the preplanning. She is kind and responsive and makes sure everything is in line for the big day. We loved working with her. Additionally, all the Mackey House staff members were fantastic. Everyone was smiling the entire day and kind to all of our guests. The Mackey House also makes excellent recommendations for vendors. Michelle and her team from Improvisions did our decorations and flowers. Every bit of what they did was beautiful! The food from Magnolia Grill was fantastic and all the guests raved over it...Corie, Mark, and their team made the most amazing food and the presentation was beautiful! Randy’s Beverage did our bar. They provided great service and were so friendly to all of our guests. Dave set up our transportation with Grace Limo, and they were great and on time the entire day. \r\rI cannot say enough about this venue. It truly is the most perfect place to get married. They provided great service and were so friendly to all of our guests. Dave set up our transportation with Grace Limo, and they were great and on time the entire day. \r\rI cannot say enough about this venue. It truly is the most perfect place to get married. It veers from the traditional ballroom style venue. The uniqueness and beauty of the house and property and the amazing people that work there made our day unforgettable!

Our Wedding was beautiful! The setting at the Mackey House is stunning and creates an amazing environment. We have received nothing but compliments from our friends and family on how beautiful our wedding and especially the venue was. Susanna is awesome she always had the right answer for everything and was just the most charming, upbeat, and sweet person. She definitely made the planning process virtually painless. Dave was our DJ and master of ceremonies, he worked closely with Susanna so there was always someone to turn to if I needed anything. Dave created a fun atmosphere and thoroughly entertained us through the night (even taught, well tried to teach me how to wobble). He, as well, had an answer or solution for everything. Shelley was there on our wedding day and offered a ton of assistance to my friends in setting up centerpieces and provided me with all the last minute little details and help. Overall an amazing staff and a breathtaking environment! I'm a huge Mackey House fan and will be forever grateful to them for providing me with one of the best days of my life.

My employer held an area sales meeting in Savannah this week and we wanted to have a relaxed evening out with a lowcountry boil and oyster roast at a pretty southern venue. The Mackey house exceeded our expectations. Susanna and Trey took all of my requirements down and coordinated travel to and from the hotel, food/beverage, and a live band for the evening. All of my colleagues were thoroughly impressed as the Mackey house is the epitome of an elegant lowcountry plantation. The outdoor covered area was PERFECT for our event and the oysters that they provided were such good quality. They all made an effort to make each of us comfortable and the service was awesome. I highly recommend the flaming donut stand, the best donuts HANDS DOWN. \r\rOur group is rather high maintenance and everyone had a wonderful time. The live band really added to the atmosphere we were hoping for. \r\rBeautiful venue, excellent customer service, and highly recommended!

We cannot tell you how many people have told us how organized, fun, and lovely the night was. We (along with our parents) are still receiving positive comments. On the day of the event, neither of us had to worry about any detail. We just got to enjoy ourselves, and I don't know how many couples get to say the same thing about their wedding.

Every bride-to-be has got to check out the Mackey House as a venue; once you drive onto the property and meet the staff, you'll fall in love in a heartbeat! The entire property is breathtakingly beautiful, and the pictures turned out amazing. I just got married a couple months ago, and it was by far the best time of my life. I have had so many people call me and text me asking us to get married at the Mackey House again because it was the best wedding they had ever been to! And I absolutely couldn't have done it without the help of Dave Gibson. He is the Event Director, and just awesome to work with. He runs the rehearsal, puts together the entire wedding including all the small details, DJs, and basically keeps the wedding flowing all night long. I didn't have to worry about hiring a planner because he took care of everything for me. Now we now have extra money in our budget for our honeymoon. His music had everyone dancing the entire night, even my husband's grandparents! It was priceless. And he taught us all how to wobble! Hilarious. Nothing is better than hearing, \"you're the bride, it's your day,\" and being totally taken care of and catered to. He took away all of the stress that most brides deal with on their wedding day. Every friend of mine told me that their wedding was a blur. Mine wasn't at all. I enjoyed every second of it and had the best night of my life. Everything was taken care of. I got to marry the love of my life and dance on a glass-topped pool. I only wish it could have been longer! I always said \"I want a marriage more beautiful that my wedding\". The Mackey House definitely set a high standard for us, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

From day one everyone was extremely accommodating, helpful and easy to contact if we had any questions at all. The DJ and overall \"Master of Ceremonies\" as he calls himself, Dave, is AMAZING! He assured that our day would run smoothly and it absolutely did. My husband and I had our wedding at the Mackey House and it was absolutely perfect! I've always dreamed of what my wedding would be like and they truly made it come to life. Everything from the planning down to the clean up afterward, the Mackey House staff were there for us the whole way through. I highly recommend hiring Dave to DJ your wedding as well as he is extremely professional and truly made our wedding special. They Mackey House was the prefect place for my husband and I to have our wedding. We had a semi outdoors wedding in the middle of December. It was cold and raining and the ceremony was to be held under the covered patio. With all of the heaters and the fire in the beautiful fireplace I was very comfortable. I've had several people comment to me that it was very cold but we had to choose either December or wait until the summer at the earliest. We chose December because summer in the south is very hot. What I loved the most about the Mackey House was that we were able to handle almost every detail of the wedding at 1 place. Well over half of our guests, including myself and all of my family, had to travel a considerable distance for our wedding so we chose to have the event in a location that allowed us to have the ceremony and reception in 1 place. The Mackey House does everything but wedding cakes and flowers. I'm told the food was great. My husband and I didn't get to eat anything and my only complaint is that we did not receive the trays of food we were promised. The house was decorated beautifully and made all the other decorating very easy and much less expensive. Dave, the Mackey House event coordinator, was excellent!! He was well worth the money! He was organized, easy to work with, focused on all the right elements, and a great DJ. I am so glad we opted to use Dave as our DJ instead of hiring a band! Overall the Mackey House did a great job of hosting our wedding.

Both my husband and I really loved our wedding day at The Mackey House. The appearance that was promised was definitely delivered. The whole house was beautifully decorated, as well as the grounds. I don't think we could have been married in a more beautiful spot. Also, our guests all seemed to really enjoy the large spread of food, and there were plenty of staff to help with any needs we might have. So all in all, everyone was quite pleased with the end result. I think our only concern was in the beginning when we were still trying to finalize negotiations, sometimes it was a bit difficult to get the things we wanted, but in the end we really were very happy with the venue and were able to use it on a tight budget.
