Choosing the Concourse for my wedding turned out to be an amazing choice! I looked at a ton of venues around the Madison area, but ended up with the Concourse for several reasons. The central location downtown and all-inclusive packages were the main reasons that I ended up going with the Concourse. With the all-inclusive packages, I knew how much things would be ahead of time (instead of getting a bar tab the next day). Special prices for guests under age 21 and for vendors were fair, and well laid out.As a well-organized person, I still found wedding planning to be daunting. Working with Julie and then Kylie at the Concourse for my wedding helped to take a lot of stress off of my shoulders. So many things were included that helped to keep us on budget, and to lower our stress - even things we didn't consider, like dessert platters! The day of our wedding, everything went perfectly. All of the servers, bartenders, and other hotel staff were so kind and helpful to me and to all of my guests. Kylie was on site to make sure that everything went smoothly, and it did! Our wedding ended up having about 90 guests, and the rooms that we used for the ceremony and for the reception were the perfect size. The food was amazing, and we're still getting compliments about everything. Reviewed on 26-05-2023
Caitlin Snyder(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-11-2022 We just had our wedding at the Madison Concourse on 11/12/22. From the first time we were looking at venues, we felt the most comfortable with the Concourse. The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and Julie and her event staff were so responsive to all of our questions. We ended up choosing the Concourse for several reasons, but one of the big ones was how experienced the staff are here and how seamless they made the initial process. That level of service carried through the year! Any time we had any questions, they were there with answers so quickly. There is a coordinator there on site during the wedding, which really removes all worries! I wasn't worried about any of our setup because I knew it was in great hands. The hotel is in the perfect location for a downtown wedding, everything was walkable. It's a great spot for a wedding with a number of out of town guests (as ours was) - there is an airport shuttle and it's easy for out of towners to get to experience Madison without needing transportation. Highly recommend the Concourse for a wedding (or any big event)! Reviewed on 22-11-2022
Sarah Stevens(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2020 We love staying at the Madison Concourse Hotel due to the excellent location, clean lobby and spacious rooms, and knowledgeable and kind staff. We have stayed here for a few New Year Eve celebrations and now for our wedding weekend. Julie helped make our wedding weekend a dream while keeping all safety precautions at top of mind. She was creative with our options for the weekend and was very responsive to any questions that we had throughout the process. Julie and the rest of the Concourse staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating throughout the weekend. We rented a guest parlor that included a bathroom, sitting area, and kitchnette. It was very spacious and was a great place for us and our family to hang out throughout the weekend. We also had their catering and it was delicious! Reviewed on 30-08-2020
Krista Farrell(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-07-2019 The Concourse Hotel definitely fit the bill for our wedding hotel block. We had the second part of our reception at The Coopers Tavern so the hotel location couldn't be beat as far as convenience for our guests. Our guests all had a wonderful time and appreciated the location and the option of the Governor's Club. Many rooms have a great view of the Capitol. I will say I didn't feel exceptionally welcome or appreciated though. We brought a TON of business and I felt like we really had to dig for information. One big frustration we had was in the shuttle. We asked if a shuttle was available to get our guests to our wedding at Olin Park and then back downtown after. We paid to get various shuttle services for the wedding party and later for the guests and it was never brought to our attention that there was a free shuttle available, which would have definitely fit our needs. We also discovered some sort of miscommunication when we heard that our guests were being told there were no rooms available even though our block was reserved and not full. This is not the most economical hotel to have a wedding block at and I guess I would have expected a bit more when doing business with them but overall, it was a fine experience. Rachel O'Connell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-11-2019 We cannot praise the Chastity and the Concourse hotel enough for the success for our wedding day and highly recommend them! We were planning the wedding remotely from the east coast and Chastity made it a breeze. She answered all of our questions throughout the year+ of planning, was able to accommodate scheduling tastings and meetings months in advance and over holidays when my husband and I were in town. She was absolutely gracious about letting us use a slightly larger space at no cost to accommodate our larger entertainment setup and dealing with our ever present block issues (issues on our end, not on the part of the hotel). Every last minute change was considered no problem and handled with ease. The wedding weekend was perfect. My husband and I had strawberries and champagne waiting in out room the night we checked in. I had a complimentary conference room and champagne so that everyone could get hair/makeup done together comfortably (not cramped into one of our rooms upstairs) and relaxed. Furthermore Chastity setup up ALL of our decorations and coordinated with all of the vendors on the day so that we had no worries the entire day. And the spaces looked beautiful and we received absolute raves about the amazing food.I honestly cannot image any other vendor being easier or more enjoyable to work with on such a big day. Sara Dillon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-06-2019 Everything ran so smooth and Ryanne Miller the catering manager was the best! You can have as much or as little help as you want with the venue and the staff will cater to whatever you need. All of my guests had a blast and everything went on without a hitch! Our ballroom had the perfect amount of space for our guest count and the location is unbeatable downtown in the heart of Madison! Overall value of what's included in the venue and it's experience hosting weddings is well worth the price and peace of mind! Reviewed on 15-06-2019
Lauren Swance(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-07-2018 Chastity and the customer service team at the Madison Concourse Hotel were great to work with for wedding room blocks. They were able to get us a more affordable price for guests, than the normal advertised price online. We also stayed at the hotel the weekend of our wedding in one of the Governor's Club Suites. They were flexible with an early check in time and the check in/out process was smooth. The rooms were clean and spacious and the swimming pool/hot tub was a hit with our families who were staying there. The Madison Concourse also has a restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which was great for guests. We would definitely recommend the Madison Concourse Hotel to couples looking for a place to stay for their wedding night or for wedding room blocks! Reviewed on 15-10-2018

Also many of our guests (including all family) were from out of town and stayed @ the Concourse. I highly recommend it for such an event! EVERYone from the bellmen to the managers (thank you Shawn & Joe) & Chastity (wedding coordinator) were friendly and helpful to the max. Chastity was our lifeline as she guided us in the planning & day of event. Chastity was thorough and thoughtful. She was great in helping us overcome the challenge of planning from 2 other cities. Her suggestions were most welcome and reflected her widespread experience. Emails and phone calls were promptly responded to. The food during all aspects of reception and breakfast was great. Everyone loved their meals. The set up of the room was lovely. Someone was attentive to our needs from 8am to 2 am on the day. All our guests were complimentary of their accommodations and treatment by all the staff. Locale was great with easy access for visitors to get to capital square and university. Friendly hotel shuttles eased transportation. Thanks, Chastity & company for giving us beautiful memories!! Reviewed on 29-03-2017
Brooke Koshel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2016 My husband and I held our wedding reception at The Madison Concourse Hotel, and we could not have been more pleased with the staff and venue from start to finish! Many of our guests were visiting from out of state, and they LOVED the hotel and LOVED Madison. I was feeling a bit nervous about the organization of our event when the original coordinator we were assigned left. We were assigned a new coordinator, Chastity, and the transition was seamless. Chastity was very professional, and even managed to keep a smile on her face as my mother and I bickered back and forth over the details of the big day. When the weekend of the wedding arrived, we dropped off decorations and left the rest to The Concourse. They decorated everything beautifully, and it was nice to not have the added stress of doing the set-up ourselves. We received many compliments on the food throughout the evening. We had a variety of hors d'oeuvres, steak and chicken for our entrees, and late night pizza. Wedding food can sometimes be a bit lackluster, but our guests seemed pleased with the offerings.I would recommend The Madison Concourse Hotel to anybody. We truly had the best night of our lives! Cary Bloodworth(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-07-2015 I was very frustrated with The Concourse Hotel leading up to the wedding weekend. First, I was told that there was no need to increase the number of rooms in my block because it would be easy to add rooms later. Then, more than 2 months before my wedding, they would not let me add rooms. Second, setting up simple breakfast vouchers for my guests the Sunday after my wedding was a nightmare. The hotel insisted that I rent a separate room and pre-pay for a separate breakfast for my guests (at a higher per-person rate than the restaurant breakfast) through catering. Only after I personally dropped into unannounced and spoke with the restaurant manager did they agree to do breakfast vouchers for my guests. Third, I was under the impression that a lounge-type room had been reserved for my use when it turned out it hadn't, and by the time the confusion was cleared up there were none available. I will say that the bridal coordinator changed during the time I was dealing with the hotel, so that may explain some of the confusion. \rOnce we arrived though, the experience was great. Staff went out of their way to make sure me and my guests were taken care of, and it a very nice hotel (with very comfortable beds). They also did a great job handing out my guest bags. One note of caution: during wedding season, Sunday morning check out is a zoo! Reviewed on 20-08-2015
Kate Golen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-08-2015 We had our reception and block of hotel rooms at the Concourse and they were a DREAM to work with. From the very first tour we took of the hotel when we were deciding on venues, The Concourse was far and away the most helpful, informative, and accommodating venue that we saw. We had estimated that we would have around 250 guests with many of them travelling out of town, so having the reception at a hotel where our guests could stay made the most sense to us. Once we signed the contract and booked the date, we were assigned to a Sales/Catering Manager who was our coordinator. Unfortunately, our original coordinator (who we loved!) left for another position about 6 months before our wedding, but our new coordinator, Julianne, was quick to jump in and was flawless in her help! The communication back and forth regarding all of the minute details was exceptional and I felt completely at ease going into the wedding day, knowing our day was in great hands. The wedding day itself was wonderful (of course!) but Julianne and The Concourse staff made sure everything was as we asked. Our guests loved the room (Madison/Wisconsin ballroom) and had rave reviews about the hotel! Excellent venue and hotel! Reviewed on 19-08-2015
Elaine Wu(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-07-2015 I cannot say enough great things about the Madison Concourse Hotel. It has been newly renovated, so the interior is great with a new Starbucks! The staff, the wedding coordinator will keep you in check for your wedding. Their ballrooms are really nice with tall ceilings! You and your guest can also have the convenience of returning to your hotel room right after the reception. Daniel Borchardt(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2015 We really could not have been happier with choosing The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club as our reception venue. Not only is the building beautiful inside and out, the staff is incredibly helpful and eager to do whatever they can to make you feel special.\r\rWhat really stood out to us about the Concourse that made them so different from other venues is they made us feel welcomed and that they truly appreciated our business. We saw some other venues on the Capitol Square and they treated us as if they were doing us a favor and \"allowing\" us to give them our business. This was not the case at the Concourse. On Multiple occasions Sarah Sherman and the staff at The Concourse went out of their way to make us feel appreciated and special.\r\rSarah made the actual planning process about as painless as it could be. We had 3 or 4 face to face meetings where all of our options and choices were communicated to us very clearly and thoroughly. We felt very organized and comfortable after each meeting.\r\rNot to mention the service on the Governor's level which was also fantastic. Complimentary food and drinks is never a bad idea.\r\rThe location is amazing for guests too. We had about a 2 hour wait in between the ceremony and cocktail hour and guests were able to fill that time by hanging out on State St and enjoying what it has to offer.\r\rIf you're looking to have your reception in downtown Madison, your best best really is this place.\r Reviewed on 27-07-2015
Emma Keillor(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-11-2014 This was our last place we looked for a wedding reception venue and we fell in love with the location and space! We were in the Madison ballroom and had about 130 guests and it was the perfect size. Jackie was our coordinator and really did an amazing job. She reminded me of when checks were due and final numbers were due. She also was great about returning emails and answering questions. The night itself was truly amazing. The concourse did a great job with providing bar service and the food was very good. They set up everything I asked them to wonderfully. Overall, this was a great location and set up for the cost! Jacqueline Graziano(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-08-2014 The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club will automatically assign you a wedding coordinator. I worked with three different ladies (the first switched jobs, the second went on maternity leave, and the third was a pinch-hitter), and all three were quick to respond and incredibly helpful to keep me organized. \r\rThey have lots of different options to personalize your night, and although I went with the bare minimum (budget!!), it was still a beautiful venue. \r\rAt the end of the evening, they had a couple slices of cake, a small bottle of wine, and some sandwich fixings, which was such a lovely touch (not to mention your room the night-of is included). \r\rI had quite a lot of guests coming in from out of town and there was quite a lot of nervousness for me surrounding the number of rooms I could initially get put onto the room block. In the end quite a lot of guests were able to stay, but the hotel was unable to add enough rooms prior to the cut-off for the block rate. Please stay in close communication with your planner on this issue!\r\rOtherwise, the Concourse was a very comfortable and elegant place to stay and to have our special night. Reviewed on 20-08-2014

We were able to state our preferences and our budget and know we could trust her in managing those. She was very efficient in emails and answering questions during the months before the big day. Jackie helped coordinate a few snafus on the wedding day and all of the staff at The Concourse was great at checking in with us. Brenna Waldschmidt(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-08-2013 Our event coordinator, Sarah Sherman, did a good job helping us plan out the specifics ahead of time and did an excellent job managing the execution of our reception. Our parents even remarked that they were impressed with her as she would come to them with questions/concerns throughout the night to make sure everything was perfect for us. We appreciated that they set aside a room designated for the wedding party to relax in and enjoy appetizers and champagne prior to entering the reception hall. The only downfall was that a staff member was caught placing all loose envelopes from gifts into the gift-card box. This made it very difficult for us to determine who gave us which gift.
