We knew we wanted to get married at the Madison Hotel from the first time we stepped into their Conservatory as guests. It's a beautiful venue, and having everything on-location is so convenient. When we finally had our own wedding there this past summer, it exceeded our expectations, thanks in large part to the people we worked with. We communicated primarily with Tim throughout the planning process, and he was so patient and responsive to our many questions and requests, especially during renovations. He helped us organize a rehearsal, an after party, and a morning after breakfast, in addition to our ceremony and reception at the venue. Everyone he put us in contact with, from hotel staff for our room block to Red Dog Tavern for our after party, were equally helpful and professional. Our assigned maitre d was Charles, who made sure we had absolutely everything we needed for the wedding, from walking us through a rehearsal, to setting/cleaning up decor and making sure we always had food and drinks. Everyone at the Madison Hotel truly is a wedding expert, and we were so thankful for how easy they made things, enabling us to have the most memorable time ever! Reviewed on 08-01-2024

The staff and the venue was lovely, but the food was so bad. The cocktail hour had shrimp that was so smelly as they passed it around, it literally left a trail of bad odor. The pastrami served was cut improperly- cut with the grain, so you couldn't eat it as the nerve was right down the slice and without a knife, was inedible. You literally couldn't bite through the piece. The coconut chicken was undercooked and there was smoked salmon wrapped around a mushy boiled potato??? What??? Dessert was very mediocre as well. Lots of choices, but fake whipped cream, bananas foster that wasn't ready and had a huge line- wasn't that good once completed. Small tarts tasted bland. Such a shame as I know the family paid a lot of money for a lovely event. Reviewed on 11-10-2023

My experience at the Madison Hotel was terrible. My first night my TV didn’t work and room service was not available to fix it, then the TV beeped all night keeping me awake.Management’s solution was to give me a $50 credit against my $279 room charge which was ridiculous. Who’d pay anything to be sleep deprived and tortured for 16 hours. Mgt was cocky and arrogant about my request to be comped for the list night. Pennies on the dollar and shortsightedness by Mgt as I am a frequent customer and I referred a lot of business there which I’ll never do again. Reviewed on 28-08-2023

We had our wedding reception and morning after brunch at The Madison Hotel. We knew from the start that this would be our wedding venue. I found the hotel through google and we booked a tour for the following week. We had visited several other venues and my husband did not like any of them. The second we stepped into the hotel that all changed. From the beautiful Victorian design to the breathtaking all glass conservatory, we fell in love with the venue. It was the first venue my husband said he actually liked. We worked with Amy for most of the planning. Amy was easy to work with and responded quickly (she does work I think Thursday-Monday’s so if you email her during her days off she does have on out of office auto response, but she gets back to you the day she’s back). She was able to guide us through the planning process and answer all my questions along the way. On wedding day my maitre’D was Kellen. Kellen was equally amazing to work with! She worked with my coordinator to make sure everything went smooth. The reception was beautiful and ran so smoothly. Kellen even made sure I got a taste of everything at cocktail hour by setting up my own private table for my husband and I to have a moment of peace to eat! All my guests highly praised the staff. They kept saying how attentive everyone was from the maitre’d to the bar staff to the waiters. All the staff were amazing and you could tell they knew exactly what to do and have perfect timing. The morning after brunch was fantastic as well! All the food was delicious for both the reception and the brunch. My guests keep saying how great everything was. I highly recommend having your reception at The Madison (and do the morning after brunch!). Reviewed on 16-08-2023

We held our reception in the Conservatory (ceremony at a local church). This room speaks for itself. The spring flowers that decorate the room were the perfect addition to our April wedding. With the room already having so much greenery, we didn’t have to go crazy with flowers for the reception which was a major plus for us! We worked with Charles through the planning process and he was easy to work with. He was a little disorganized on the day of (kept trying to put my guest book in the wrong spot) but during the event itself he continued to check on me and made sure I was happy with how everything was going so overall it was a good experience. Our guests loved how unique the venue was. Using the conservatory, our options were to have the cocktail hour outside on the patio or in the newly renovated room underneath. We used the room underneath and it was a little tight but no one seemed to mind. It was more of a traditional cocktail hour with passed apps than the now-trendy cocktail hours with a ton of stations that feels like a full meal. However, the dinner served includes a pasta course and a salad course before the main meal, so people did not go hungry. Also, for the conservatory the bathrooms are down the hall, which I was nervous about but I added some signage and it was fine. It was also a huge plus that the venue is a hotel so we could have our after party right in the attached bar and we didn’t have to worry about shuttles. The only downsides of this venue are that there are multiple weddings in a night, so the rooms are limited and our block sold out quickly. Reviewed on 03-07-2023
Samantha Lowenkron(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-01-2023 I knew from the start I wanted an indoor wedding, as the weather is the one thing you can’t control and I didn’t want to have to stress about that. My husband and I also fell in love with the idea of having the hotel on site, so the Madison Hotel was the perfect choice for us. We had our ceremony in the conservatory, our cocktail hour in the Victorian suite, and the reception in the Glynallyn Ballroom. We are so happy with our choice of venue and our day was amazing! The conservatory is such a beautiful room and already has flowers in it, so you save money on florals by not needing to decorate the space. The food is incredible and there was so much at cocktail hour that we had a lot of variety without any additional upgrades. We had a 3 course meal followed by dessert - which you get 2 of because there’s cake and an additional option that comes in the package. The venue didn’t come with a bridal attendant, but rather a maitre d who oversaw the event. We had Charles who was absolutely wonderful in making sure we had everything we needed. He brought us all the food from our cocktail hour to enjoy privately in one of the getting ready rooms and was constantly checking on us throughout the night and bringing us drinks as needed. Having the hotel on site was amazing as us and all our guests were easily able to walk back to our rooms and change into comfy clothes after the reception and hang out at the hotel bar for the after party. The venue recently underwent some construction, but luckily we were not one of the couples affected by this and were told we were the last wedding in the old ballroom. I have heard that communication about these things has not been the best, and perhaps it’s because we were not affected by it, but I had no trouble at all emailing back and forth and getting my questions answered by hotel staff. The one thing I would note is that the venue can book the conservatory for other events prior to the wedding, which leaves only about an hour-hour and a half to set up the room for the wedding and limits your ability to take pictures in there beforehand if this happens. Luckily this didn’t happen to us, but it was added stress that they would book another event so close to our wedding and we would only have 30 minutes in this beautiful space. Reviewed on 08-03-2023

Booked my wedding last year for 2023 because the ballroom was an elegant white and gold. Now we find out through instagram they are changing to dark blue or charcoal walls and blue carpets. Looks so tacky and not what we saw when we booked. Now I have to spend so much more trying not to clash with those ugly walls. When I called to complain, they didn't even care. Stay away from this place. They lie. Reviewed on 13-12-2022
Nicole Wilson(other)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-12-2022 I am in a wedding in the spring 2023 and after months of planning and visions, the couples discovered a plan for some DRAMATIC renovations made to the ballroom - changing from champagne and gold colors to black walls and blue carpet. They were never notified either, found out through a social media post. Attempts were made to contact the hotel to discuss the upcoming renovations without any reply. It is understandable a venue can make adjustments to their venue as they'd like but absolutely no communication or consideration for the couples about the dramatic changes and some with absolutely no notice to make any needed adjustments. Just very disappointing. For future couples to consider, the pictures posted here will not reflect the ballroom you will see in person. Reviewed on 09-12-2022
Karen W(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-10-2022 We loved everything about the Madison Hotel! The conservatory was absolutely stunning and we were able to have both our ceremony and reception in it. While we were planning, Tim MacHale guided us and answered all of our questions. He was always ready to jump on a call to go over everything and was very organized. The day itself ran smoothly. Our maître d' was Sharon Gomez - she was very attentive and made sure to check in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was good, she made sure everything was set up correctly and timely, and brought everything (welcome sign, card box, etc.) to our room at the end of the night which was extremely helpful. We did a first look and were able to take a bunch of pictures outside and inside the conservatory, which we really appreciated the coordination from the hotel - there was an event right before ours, so we had limited time in the conservatory, but it was available to us for about 30 minutes which was great, as our ceremony was later in the day in October and so it would have been dark afterwards. We were so happy they were able to accommodate our requests! Something we really liked was that the conservatory is very beautiful and the hotel provides some of the flower decorations, so we did not need much else for the ceremony decorations. The food was also great - many of our guests complimented it afterwards! Overall we were so happy we chose The Madison Hotel and would highly recommend it! Reviewed on 19-11-2022

Our wedding was on October 16th, 2022, and the day went great! The complimentary suite for us was amazing on the night of our wedding, and the staff was very attentive. Everyone loved the food and the venue. I will say that the room rates outside of the room block are expensive, so if yo have family coming in from out od town who need to stay more than just one night, be advised it can get expensive. Janelle Hoffman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2022 We chose The Madison Hotel after falling in love with the Conservatory, knowing that we wanted to have our ceremony there. Our day went off without a hitch - Charles was our Maitre D’ and he helped the day flow SEAMLESSLY, and continually checked in with me and my coordinator (Joy of the Wedding Plan & Co.) to make changes as needed. He not only knew every detail of our wedding, but anticipated things headed off problems before they happened. As one example of how he went about and beyond, when it was time for the cake-cutting, he escorted my husband and I to the cake, remembered to grab my husband’s tux jacket from his chair and carried it for him, and patiently guided us on how exactly to hold the knife and where to look so that we’d get the best possible photos. He made sure we always had food and our glasses were never empty. Also, the FOOD, omg. I am extremely picky and generally have low expectations for wedding food, but ALL of the food was absolutely delicious. Cocktail hour was extensive, and we also purchased some extra late night snacks that were served at 10 pm (chicken fingers, grilled cheese, fries). I was NOTHING but impressed about how the day flowed, the professionalism of the staff, how delicious everything was and how beautiful it all was. I got SO many compliments from my guests saying how much they loved the Hotel and how gorgeous they thought it was (not even including the decor we added!).I severely underestimated how amazing it was that we had a hotel and restaurant/bar onsite. This wasn’t something that was at all critical to me when we were originally looking for a venue, but now that it’s over, I’m SO glad it worked out that we had a “one stop shop” venue. It really makes a big difference for the guest experience. Our guests were able to seamlessly flow from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception, to “after party” at the bar, to their hotel rooms for bed — without losing the momentum or energy of the night. Knowing this now, I would have definitely made this aspect a higher priority when venue shopping.I originally wanted nothing to do with traditional ballrooms (literally wouldn’t even look at them), but I’m SO glad we went with the ballroom at the Madison for the reception. I learned that there is an under-appreciated reason why ballrooms are so popular and work so well for any kind of event: the acoustics. Again, live music was extremely important to us, and we would do anything to make sure that our band had the tools they needed to sound amazing. Acoustics are much trickier in any room with windows - so just be aware (a lot of the venues I looked at had windows in their reception spaces). I also think the room is legitimately beautiful - it’s neutral and not gaudy or overdone. Overall, our wedding was absolutely stunningly beautiful and we received excellent service on our wedding day. It was my dream day and I'm super grateful to the Madison for making it happen. Marissa Sprofera(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-07-2021 This venue is absolutely STUNNING and was super easy to work with while postponing from 2020 to 2021. Tim (catering manager) is super responsive as well as the rest of the hotel team. The food is DELICIOUS!!!!! I haven’t heard one bad thing from ANYONE in our families… and everyone tells it like it is. Everyone loved that the hotel was right upstairs! The only reason a star is deducted is because of their Maitre D, Carolina. If you get her, hire a day of coordinator ASAP. She was absolutely horrendous. She is not a new employee and magically has had good reviews. To start, she had a bad attitude. She treated my husband and I and our families like we were a burden. Both my husband and I are music teachers…. My husband has had this idea of singing me down the aisle with a group of his friends for 3 years. He had it choreographed to the tee and written out clear as day of when and who should be walking down the aisle. We met with Carolina the day before just in case she had any questions, and she yes’ed us to death. On our wedding day, I didn’’t see Carolina until 30 minutes to the start of our ceremony and she said she had everything under control and ready to go and she would come get me 5 minutes prior. She tells my husband that she needs 2 minutes to go and grab me…. He plays a 2 minute song on the piano…. There’s no cue from any kind from the staff so he starts the procession song as he was told because it was 2 minutes. The procession should have started at the first lyric…. SHE DIDN’T GET MY BRIDESMAIDS AND I UNTIL HE WAS HALF WAY DONE WITH THE SONG!!!! I hear it and I was SCREAMING to open the doors and the procession needs to start NOW! Carolina proceeds to tell me to calm down, and that there’s plenty of time…. Thank the lord everyone performing was a professional musician and they improvised after the song was finished to get everyone down the aisle… including me. My husband and I did not get the moment we have been planning for YEARS because of her incompetence or her lack of caring. After pictures, I only saw her once the whole entire night! She helped my mom with the last loop on my bustle and that was the last time I saw her until the end of the night. At the end of the night, Carolina packed all of the decor and our top tier of the cake and put it in the honeymoon suit. There are other things that she either didn’t do or didn’t handle properly throughout the night, but those are the main things. One small thing that Tim forgot was to print the 2nd page of the event sheet that had our last hour snacks (grilled cheese and chicken tenders). The chef didn’t know and neither did Carolina. I didn’t realise they didn’t come out until 10 minutes prior to the end. No big deal… It was a waste of money. Nobody was hungry! Everyone stuffed their faces throughout the night! The Madison did the right thing and refunded the money.Despite Carolina’s complete incompetence, we had a perfect day, everyone had an absolute BLAST and I am FINALLY married to my best friend!!!!! Jenna Wilson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-09-2021 Where to even begin?! The Madison Hotel was a perfect reception venue for our wedding in September 2021! The catering team had two weddings going on, the hotel was full and they have two restaurants to manage, in yet the team made us feel like we were the only people that mattered!! Working with Tim leading up to the event was so easy, he had answers within a day or so to all my questions throughout the planning process! They were super flexible with my requests (like bringing in late night Chick-fil-A for my guests!). Service is everything for these types of events and the Madison Hotel's service is OUTSTANDING! From the front desk to the catering team to the maitre d for the night, Carolina, to the team serving guests to the bartenders at the event and in the restaurants - they recognize the importance of providing the highest quality experience from start to finish. Even with everything going on at the hotel, everything came out perfectly on time as we had outlined and discussed leading up to the day including the main course; there was no dragging it out as I've seen at other venues from time to time. I did not have one question or concern going into the reception that day - I had full confidence that it was going to go off smoothly because their experience and expertise was obvious. Carolina was so great to work with. As soon as I got there, she told me everything I needed to know and what to expect. She continuously followed up with my husband and I to see if we needed anything from another drink to putting our cards/decor away in our suite. I was able to relax and enjoy the day I had been planning for over a year knowing that they were on top of every detail. In addition, the rooms were all updated, the front of the hotel made for beautiful pictures, the bars were open until to 2am with some of the kindest bartenders who wanted to make sure we had the best time to the very end and the lobby is a really great spot to sit and recap the day the next morning while enjoying the coffee/breakfast. We spent so much time reminiscing with friends and family there as we finished up. It is a one-stop spot for people who want a great party - this was important to us, we wanted a hotel with lively dining/beverage options so we can keep the party going and everyone could just crash! It worked out as well as I could have imagined. The people working there genuinely want to make sure it is the best day of your life - they were flexible with guests (ex: we had some order a bottle to go and sit outside until very late night!) and flexible with our event (ex: we went over 11pm slightly so the band could give us \"one more song\"). The one thing to note is that they limit the hotel block to a small number of rooms. We had a lot of people coming in from out of town so you may need another block. Fortunately, we were able to eventually get almost everyone who wanted to be there in a room. Nevertheless, I could not recommend the Madison Hotel more!!! THANK YOU!! Reviewed on 25-09-2021

We were forced to postpone our wedding two times due to the pandemic, and each time The Madison was willing to work with us to find a new date. Tim walked through each challenging moment with us, and could not have been more supportive and helpful, always willing to answer the many questions we had leading up to our wedding day. On our wedding day, we had Joe as our Maitre'D and we also cannot say enough about how fantastic he was. Joe made sure everything ran absolutely perfect and constantly checked in with Kevin and I to make sure we had food and drinks, and assure that everything was okay from our perspective. Our wedding day was the greatest day of our lives, and we owe it to the incredible staff at The Madison Hotel. We also had our room block & rehearsal dinner booked through The Madison (Rod's wine room for the rehearsal dinner), and it was nothing short of incredible. He was attentive, helpful and very easy to get a hold of whenever we had questions. The cocktail hour space (outside the ballroom) was grand and elegant - the food was amazing - highly recommend the dumpling station! Our wedding reception was in the conservatory and the space really made our winter wedding come to life. We had 130 people which we thought was the perfect amount for the space without it being too overcrowded. Joe was our Maitre-d the day off and he was wonderful and calm. He was always asking if we needed anything during dinner and helped my wedding planner keep everything smooth throughout the night. The cake was beautiful and delicious. We had one hiccup the night before the wedding - they were going to do some construction with the water pipes in the morning while we were getting ready on the wedding day. After expressing our strong discontent - they moved the timing of it so it didn't interfere with anything.Another note is that there is a sound limitation in the conservatory due to neighbors that made us a little nervous however the sound system that the Madison has in the conservatory was completely fine and we didn't feel as though we were missing any volume during our dance party! This place is organized and you really feel as though they have everything handled to make sure your big day goes off without an issue. Out of the countless places that we had looked at online, the Madison Hotel was everything we dreamed of, but we were a little skeptical of the amazing prices, and the beautiful atmosphere. We scheduled a tour, and were very please to see that the pictures really lived up to the real deal, and the prices per person and what was included was too good to be true! We only looked at one other venue before going back to the Madison to put a deposit down for 2 years in advance. Now two years is a big gap of time, so over the two years, there were changes in catering staff, but the venue was very good about updating us on the changes and anything we needed to do. As we got closer, we were in more contact with the catering manager, Angie, who was very sweet, timely, and well organized. Even with such a hectic schedule that she had, she was still able to make time for anything that we had concerns with. The day of was so so smooth that we weren't even a little stressed! Our mater d, Joe, was so on top of everything, from making sure everyone was where they needed to be, to taking care of Nick and I's food and drinks, and even our parents. Finally, hotel accommodations were very convenient and our guests could not stop complimenting the beauty of the venue, the amazing food (and the amount of food), and the overall comfortable atmosphere. On Saturday, we had our ceremony in the conservatory, cocktail hour in the Victorian and reception in the ballroom. We even had an after party at Rod's (which was so convenient!) Having everything all in one place including somewhere our family and friends could stay was the best decision we could have made. I worked with Angie throughout the planning process and she was amazing- so accessible, very professional and gave me great advice and suggestions. She was there every step of the way including on the day! We got married in the conservatory which was absolutely breath-taking. We took our pictures during cocktail hour, so I did not get to see any of it, but all of the guests were raving about it! Our reception was in the ballroom and it was outstanding- the lighting was gorgeous, the setup was perfect and everything was executed flawlessly by our Matre'D Carolina and her team. I did not lift one finger all day which was a huge change after the wedding planning process! Carolina was so on top of everything and I did not need to worry about a thing. Janice Pedini(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-12-2018 You go into planning a wedding with extremely high expectations- you want the day to be perfect for you and your guests. The Madison Hotel absolutely exceeded every one of my expectations and made our wedding day dreams come true. From the second we entered the venue, we were sold. The charm that the hotel holds is EXTREMELY hard to find in a wedding venue. In no way did the place feel like a wedding factory- from the gorgeous traditional outside, the cool train car restaurants, the stunning conservatory, our guests could not stop raving about all of the beauty of this venue. In addition to the aesthetics, the convenience factor of everything really helped make our decisions. We've all been to weddings where the rehearsal dinner is at some restaurant, followed by a twenty minute trip to a hotel, then the ceremony at a church one hour in a direction, reception in another, only to return to the random Hilton you've called home for two days. That couldn't be more opposite to the experience that the Madison Hotel provides. We checked in on a Friday for our rehearsal and our guests did not leave until Sunday after brunch. We held our dinner, getting ready, ceremony, reception, after party and brunch all at the venue. Our guests had a pool, a breakfast bar, a gym and a mile trip into downtown Morristown to keep them busy on their downtime. We could not have received more positive feedback from our guests on everything being in one place. If you are getting married at a church, there are multiple beautiful churches within the area (College of St. Elizabeth directly behind the venue has a gorgeous Catholic church). While aesthetics and convenience obviously matter, service obviously makes or breaks an event like this. I cannot say enough positive things about the services. We worked with Charles D and Joe Z on the planning and execution respectively and they both were super accommodating, responsive and did whatever they could to customize the day to make our experience exceptional. The Madison offers a really tip- to- tail package that removes alot of the guess work out of planning a wedding. They also offer really nice features like free rooms for parents of the bride and a bridal suite- simply for booking with them- no begging your guests to book their rooms so yours is free required. Although we are now done with the wedding at the Madison, they have gained a lifelong client of anniversary dinners, overnight stays and random visits to relive one of the best days of our lives. thank you! Hannah Heck(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2018 We got married at the Madison Hotel in October 2018. We had a fabulous night and all of our guests raved about how much they loved the hotel.Pros:-We had cocktail hour in the conservatory that was beautiful and stunning. -There was SO MUCH FOOD at cocktail hour. Some of our guests were confused and thought that cocktail hour was dinner and it was all delicious!! Quote from guest: \"the food kept coming\" -The waitstaff did a great job clearing dishes from tables and attending to guests- The coordinator was helpful with all of my questions and worked with me for any requests I had including: changing some of the cocktail hour passed apps, having champagne passed at cocktail hour. She quickly and professionally answered all questions I had. - Having your wedding at a hotel was a huge logistical relief for our guests - it was so nice to have so many people stay there and we continued the night at Rod's Steakhouse. We had over 50 rooms on our block and a lot of people from out of town and it was nice to have the extra time to mingle with them. - Joe was an awesome MD. He got my husband and I everything we needed and I loved his calm and positive attitude. - The front lawn made for some beautiful pictures. We also love our pictures from in the lobby. Cons:- I did not have a problem that there was another wedding there that day - but family from the other wedding party was in my bridal suite (which is really like a large conference room) I know this isn't the hotels fault per say but it bothered me that they were in there with my stuff. I think they could improve on separating the two parties considering we spent tens of thousands of dollars on the venue.- The fuse box blew and the DJ had to go and reset the hotel's fuse box.- If you are looking for a beautiful bridal suite - this is not your place. - Despite how perfect and smooth the night went, I have a little bad taste in my mouth. The day after the wedding our coordinator called and asked if everything was ok because the waitstaff was expecting a better tip (this was in addition to the service fee that I paid in full). I was already planning on giving them more money but the fact she called the day after my wedding made me feel uncomfortable. I just feel this was a little unprofessional to call me and ask for more money. Reviewed on 18-11-2018

Tim, Charles, Joe and the staff were attentive, responsive and accommodating. Beautiful places to take photos inside and outside, so don't feel like you have no options in case it rains! Most of the rooms were renovated and lovely. The food and drinks were delicious and the wait staff moved quickly and efficiently. My only concern is that the room didn't have a safe, which is an issue when you have expensive jewelry/gifts around. I was using the microwave as my safe space and ended up leaving jewelry there for a few days, which the front desk found but stated they didn't know who it belonged to, and when they find things they basically put them in lost and found and wait for the owner to call. First off, it's just gorgeous in general and it's so nice that it hasn't been made into anything ridiculously modern. That conservatory room is the most beautiful room and my husband and I were extremely lucky to have both our ceremony and reception in it. We also had the pleasure of working with all three of The Madison Hotel's \"main men\"; Joe, Charles, and Tim. We adore them. Joe ended up being our Maitre'D that day/night for our wedding and he was just amazing, calm, always asking us if we needed anything and we trusted him so much that we didn't worry about a thing that night. All our wedding decor we brought over was also executed PERFECTLY to where we had talked over with Joe. They always say something doesn't go as planned for your wedding but we can honestly say everything went perfect and smooth. Charles helped us with a bulk of the planning and he was so patient with us and extremely down to earth. Tim helped us do our wedding ceremony rehearsal and had a lot of patience that night! haha The food was delicious and everything was just seamless. I could brag about the Madison Hotel all day!! Our overnight bridal suite was also ridiculously nice. We are so lucky to have had such a beautiful wedding. Reviewed on 08-10-2018

She even found batteries and a screwdriver to put together the Thanos gauntlet for the final dances !The room was breathtaking , the food was so delicious, and the support service was outstanding.Thank you so much for your professionalism . The Conservatory is a beautiful location, the building and grounds are beautiful for photographs, and the service is impossible to beat. We worked with Joseph from our first tour to our wedding night. He was responsive and professional and made the entire planning process very easy. Our guests are still raving about the food and the cake! Everything was amazing. The cocktail hour choices are extensive and every single piece of food was delicious. I don't usually eat cake and I loved our wedding cake. This venue truly has everything and they will do whatever it takes to make sure your night is perfect. Joseph was so attentive throughout the entire night, as were all of the rest of the staff. I do not have a single negative thing to say about the Madison Hotel at any point in the planning process. Carolina was our maitre d' on the day of. We met with her the day before our wedding as we dropped off all our supplies. She sat with us and went through all our decor and reviewed every little detail. I wasn't sure exactly how I wanted everything set up (parent wedding photos, guestbook, etc.) and left it to her judgment. Well it was INCREDIBLE. All of our decor and reception extras looked amazing. She even set up things perfectly that I forgot to tell her about! She made sure all our stuff was packed up at the end of the night and stored in our bridal suite. Nikita Penett(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-05-2018 We had our ceremony in the Conservatory and our reception in the Ballroom of the Madison Hotel. I fell in love with this venue the moment I saw it! I especially loved the Conservatory because it gave you that outdoor garden feel without having to worry about the weather. Also, the plants and flowers that they have in there are so beautiful, you can save money because you do not need ceremony decorations. We worked with Joe throughout the planning process and he was wonderful! He answered all of our questions and was very helpful in all aspects of planning. About a week before our wedding, we found out that Tim was going to be the maître d' for our wedding. Although Tim was not as familiar with our event plans, he did a good job and the day went smoothly. The food was great and the cake was delicious (we highly recommend the cookies and cream!). The hotel provided two large rooms on the first floor for the girls and guys to get ready in. Our photographer had fun taking pictures throughout the hotel and outside near the antique train cars. After the wedding, we had an after party at the bars in Rod's and GK's. Both bars are right next to each other, so it was easy for our guests to move back and forth to socialize. Many of our guests stayed over at the hotel, and the hotel rooms were clean, well-furnished, and very reasonably priced. We also had many guests traveling from NYC, and the train station is directly across the parking lot from the hotel. So convenient! It's absolutely stunning and our guests were blown away! To be honest, we went to the Bridal Show earlier in the year and had some concerns about the food. We went in for a tasting and the chef was so sweet and accommodating - as was Tim (our contact at The Madison Hotel). It helped ease our concerns and then day-of the wedding, everyone was actually raving about the food. Most impressively The Madison Hotel Catering staff addressed our unique needs beautifully. Our guest list included a significant number of professional athletes and so we requested the chef \"lighten up\" our brunch menu and add lots more vegetables and healthy items. We were highly impressed with the results and our guests were delighted. The location was gorgeous and the staff did a wonderful job of quickly transforming the room with our multiple flower arrangements and gifts for each guest on each table. He was so helpful to us, especially since I was planning our wedding from out of state. We asked for long tables in the ballroom and Charles facilitated the rentals to make the room look exactly the way I wanted it--and the room is amazing on its own. Definitely the nicest ballroom I've been in. It was awesome being in the hotel so we could stay right on site and see our guests in the morning. The food was amazing, everyone walked away beyond stuffed. Charles also worked with us to change the chicken option on the menu since we didn't want the usual one offered, and he set us up with an extra cocktail hour station at the end of the reception since we decided not to have the included cake.Make sure you go to one of the wedding expos to taste the food options, since they don't do individual tastings.Highly recommend to any couple. Brandy Jones(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-03-2018 We held our ceremony and reception at The Madison on March 24, 2018. All of our guests continue to rave about our big day! We fell in love with the hotel with its history and character and I was determined to have a spring feel to my ceremony even in cold weather. The conservatory is perfect for that exact feel and as a plus, has the most gorgeous hanging plants and flowers which can save you money. The hotel provides a one stop shop where your guests never have to leave. What was really helpful was the hair and makeup room the hotel provides for your bridal party to get ready and our bridal suite was also beautiful and spacious. My only complaint would be that there was no safe which becomes problematic with wedding jewelry and money for vendors. Our reception was in the ballroom and the food and service were amazing. Our maitre d' Carolina ran through the rehearsal with us the night before and was so easy going and calm which really helped with nerves. She made me feel like everything was going to be perfect and if it wasn't, she would take care of it. She made sure everything was setup and made it safely to the room at the end of the evening. There was some construction in March but I personally was not disturbed by this and there was signage everywhere to explain. It did relocate the men's bathroom so that was a bit of an issue with two weddings sharing one men's room. This brings me to the only area that I wish was a bit stronger, communication. We booked our wedding with one person who went on maternity leave. Her replacement also left and our original contact appears to never have come back from leave. During this time, we were not made aware of the changes and had to reach out to schedule a meeting to go over our details. After all details were given, we still had staff coming to me the day of in regards to special meals and a missing table on the seating chart. Our guests LOVED the cocktail hour. There was so much food and everyone was impressed. We also loved the ice cream sundae bar. Our cake was good, but unfortunately the wrong filling. I booked with Elise, who is no longer there, but she was truly wonderful and part of the reason I booked there (and the hotel decorations during the holidays). No one communicated that she wasn't coming back after her leave, and about 5 weeks before the wedding I had to reach out to inquire about when we would do the menu planning (originally they said in Oct/Nov and it was already end of Nov). Luckily other reviews had mentioned they aren't the best with email communication and deal with weddings every weekend, which helped put my mind at ease. The staff, especially our maitre d' Carolina, Tim MacHale (the director of catering) and Elise Munc (catering sales manager--basically the woman who coordinated it ALL for me), I owe my perfect wedding to. I was nervous about meeting our maitre'd since they assign one a few weeks before the wedding, but as soon as I met Carolina, all my nervousness about whether everything would go as planned went away. Carolina was extremely organized and professional, and so easy to talk to. The day of, she checked on me often, helped my mom bustle my dress, and made sure my husband and I had food and drink with how quickly everything went during the cocktail hour and reception. She packed up cocktail hour food for us and it was waiting for us in our suite at the end of the night, and she also made sure we got back all of our decorations and props we had given to her. I had given her a list of everything I wanted done, and all of it was executed. The entire Madison staff was so professional and accommodating, and we felt like royalty that night. We had our ceremony in the conservatory and our reception in the ballroom. I was originally concerned about the other wedding, but Tim was right when he said we would never see or interact with the other wedding. We had our after-party at Red Dog Tavern next door, which didn't need to be booked ahead of time. We loved having our wedding at the Madison because everything was in one convenient location for our guests-- our rehearsal dinner was at Rod's, we had brunch the next morning in the Victorian suite, and took all our wedding photos on the property, in the train cars and outside the front of the hotel on the lawn. Although there are multiple weddings there every weekend, the staff made us feel like our wedding was the most important one, and they really gave us their time and attention. We booked this venue as soon as we saw the conservatory and they told us we could have our ceremony in that room and then the reception in the ballroom (to accommodate the number of guests we had). It was a no brainer- we were blown away by the conservatory, as were our guests on the day of the wedding. Food- amazing. Bacon wrapped scallops, lamb chops, dumplings, mashed potato bar, you name it- everyone loved it. I was even able to sit down and enjoy my (generous portion) of salmon for dinner- do brides ever get to enjoy their meal? I did!Staff- phenomenal. Throughout our planning process- we worked with three different people due to their schedules/etc. (Sarah, Elise, and Tim) All 3 of them were a pleasure to work with and each time our main contact was changed- it was seamless, as if we didn't have to explain anything to the next person, they knew all of the details. We wound up having Tim as our maitre d' the day of the wedding and he was awesome. He kept calm and made sure literally everything we asked for was executed exactly as we asked. We didn't have to worry about a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. This place has one event after the next (I'm talking corporate conferences, baby showers, weddings, and meetings all at once) in every room on the same day. We never even crossed paths with any of the other events. I don't know how this place does it, but they do it well. Some other pros- the complimentary hotel room for the bride and groom, the large room given as the \"bridal suite\" for hair and makeup the morning of, the many spots for great pictures, the complimentary breakfast for hotel guests, and their overall willingness to work with you on any request you have. No matter how weird or annoying you think it is- they will help you do it. I wish I could do it all over again- exactly the same! Reviewed on 07-11-2017

Our wedding was absolutely stunning, everyone keeps commenting on how good the food was and how many options were available. I think it's moderately priced considering how stunning the hotel is and the amount of food and alcohol you receive in your package. Beautiful, classy establishment. Morgan Lynn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-10-2017 We had our wedding at The Madison a few weeks ago, and got so many compliments! We had our ceremony and reception in the Conservatory, and our cocktail hour in the Victorian Room, which also had an outside terrace. The Conservatory was hands-down the reason we picked this venue. (that, and the fact that having a hotel on-site was a major plus. no transportation worries, all guests had a complimentary continental breakfast that we could enjoy with them, hotel bar for the after party, etc.). It is absolutely stunning in both day and night, and cuts down on a lot of need for decor and flowers. We got so many compliments on the location. Joe, our maitre' d, was such a calm and professional presence, and made sure we ate, and that things were running generally on schedule. That said, logistically it seemed a bit throughout the process that they weren't the most detail oriented, but I think a lot of that comes from the fact that they are so experienced and professional at doing weddings. Every worry we had, that we thought they might not be addressing prior to the wedding (for example, the tight turn around time between the ceremony prior to ours and our wedding), was taken care of absolutely seamlessly day-of. They know exactly what they are doing. As for the food--despite not being able to eat much (nerves + busy bride) the guests absolutely LOVED it, and I echo other reviewers in saying that the mashed potato bar is a must! Guests also loved our pastrami/lamb carving station. The cocktail hour is where the food really shines. Do try and attend one of their wedding showcases, but know that you won't be able to sample all the food before your wedding. Overall, highly recommend! Reviewed on 09-10-2017

We had our ceremony and reception in the Conservatory, with the cocktail hour outside. It was all perfect! Tim was a wonderful contact early on. He answered all questions quickly and thoroughly. Joe was our Maitre'D. He acted like a day-of wedding planner, and it could not have gone more smoothly. There was a ceremony at 5, ours was at 6:30. At first I was nervous, but Joe and his team have transitions down to a science. All of our decor was set up beautifully! Joe is extremely professional, but has a calm demeanor that is contagious. The staff was very accommodating and truly know how to carry out 'old school' customer service. I gave them a lot of directions for decor and they were able to make all of them happen. I will say they are very busy with wedding their (rightfully so because it is beautiful), so a responses are usually delayed by a day and the details are covered more when your wedding gets closer. However, they manage to do an amazing job (even with two weddings in one day)!! The venue is absolutely stunning and with the upgrades they have planned it will only get better. I had Charles as my maitre'd and he was awesome. He is super calm and never seems annoyed (even when I brought in an entire stage for us to use in the ceremony). Melissa Zimmermann(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2017 I can't say enough good things about The Madison Hotel. They are absolutely pros at running large, amazing banquet events. My first correspondence with Sara Maurer was prompt and professional, and the Conservatory basically sold itself when we went for a tour. When Sara retired, I was nervous as to who was taking over, but Elise Munc immediately made me feel at ease. She was so friendly and personable, and genuinely seemed to be excited to help me plan my wedding. She was so patient in answering all my questions and last minute changes. On the day of my wedding, Elise checked to see how everything was going, and our MC, Carolina Callejas, was absolutely amazing. Elise's and Carolina's attention to detail was wonderful, which really helped because I sent a lot of specific instructions and pictures on how I wanted things set up. Elise promptly responded to emails and didn't miss a beat. My husband and I also really appreciated that they were both amenable to odd and detailed requests. Everything went perfectly the day of! Carolina kept checking on us to see if we needed anything, and even set aside food in our suite from the cocktail hour since my husband and I missed everything due to pictures. Throughout the night, Carolina moved everything to our room, so we didn't have to worry about losing anything or cleaning up. You really couldn't ask for more or find fault in their service. One amazing thing I also wanted to mention was the Madison Hotel's sensitivity to allergies. We had one guest who was allergic to many different foods, and we were all concerned about what she would be able to eat at the wedding. I mentioned this to Carolina, and she said not to worry. The head chef came out to talk with our guest and her family, and not only did they make a special meal for her during dinner, they also made a special plate of hors d'oeuvres so she wouldn't miss out on cocktail hour. Thank you to the staff of the Madison Hotel for making my wedding day perfect! Reviewed on 28-06-2017
Christine Wolff(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception in the Conservatory a few months ago and really could not be happier with how everything turned out. The Conservatory really appealed to us for a number of reasons. It is a really unique, gorgeous space that requires very little additional decor, and allows you to feel like you are outside while avoiding all weather-related concerns. Every time we visited the space before the day of our wedding it was during the day, and I didn't realize how much the space would transform visually between the ceremony (around sunset) and reception (when it was completely dark outside), which was an added bonus. We also were drawn to having our wedding at The Madison Hotel because as many of our guests that wanted to stay overnight could stay - and about half of our guests did end up staying! The venue also includes a lot of extras that other venues will charge for, including escort cards, menus, candles, a suite for bride/groom, cake, etc., and there is complimentary breakfast in the lobby for all guests that stay overnight. We attended a few of the wedding showcases leading up to our big day and were able to try a number of the stations, passed hors d'oeuvres, and dessert options, which really helped us in deciding on what we wanted to include. We worked primarily with Elise leading up to the wedding, and she was incredibly helpful and quick in responding to all of our questions. On the day of the wedding, Carolina was our Maître d', and she was so attentive (not just to us, but to our parents as well) and kept everything running smoothly. When we returned to our room at the end of the night, Carolina and the staff had already packaged up everything that we brought to the venue (extra favors, signs, etc.) and some of the food from the cocktail hour, along with the top tier of our cake.A number of our guests have told us that this was the best wedding they have ever been to, and we owe so much of this to The Madison Hotel, Elise, and Carolina. The Conservatory was stunning, the food was delicious, the staff were incredibly accommodating, and I can't imagine that the whole experience could have come together any more wonderfully. And, lastly, some things to keep in mind if you are considering having your wedding at The Madison Hotel:1) If you are having your reception in the Conservatory, I would recommend having no more than 130 guests. You could have more than this, but space would get pretty tight at that point.2) The mashed potato bar and the mac n' cheese bar were huge hits at our cocktail hour, and I highly recommend these.3) The venue recommends tipping the Maître d' a certain amount, and you may want to ask about this and include this in your budget from the beginning. Laura Mallalieu(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-03-2017 I had my wedding here in March 2017, and it was amazing! The conservatory is stunning, you barely need decorations because it's already so pretty. The space is perfect for smaller weddings. I'd recommend it for groups of about 100 people. The staff was very helpful and accommodating during the planning process, even with some last minute changes. It was definitely in the upper end of my budget, but they include a lot of extras (table settings, cake, menus, escort cards, a suite for the night, plus two parent rooms,) which helps with the price. They did all the set up and breakdown for us as well. It's also well worth the price because of how completely charming the place is. The conservatory is so different from your typical ball room wedding, and really feels like you are bringing the outside inside, so it's great for winter weddings. The food was, according to my very picky grandmother, all excellent. I was too excited to eat much, but the creme brulee was a highlight for me. Be aware that you are not able to try all of the food choices at the bridal showcase. However, it is still worth going since there were several butler-passed hors d' ouerves which I did not like and was able to sub out for other choices for my cocktail hour. Overall, it was a big hit. I got tons of comments on how gorgeous the place was. Reviewed on 03-05-2017
Zoe Hayes(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-03-2017 My husband and I had our reception in the Conservatory on 3/18/17, and boy was it gorgeous! It was wonderful to be surrounded by so many plants (also cut down on the flower/decoration budget), and it just so happened that a blizzard hit NJ 5 days before the wedding. The ground was covered in snow, and as a few little flurries were falling that night our guests said they felt like they were in a snow globe! The conservatory is a wonderful way to have what feels like an outdoor wedding with the comfort of heat (or AC if you're getting married in the summer). The food was DELICIOUS (or what little of it I was able to actually eat), and the staff was great. Charles (catering coordinator/maitre D) was easy to work with throughout the whole process and responded promptly to any questions. It was also nice that the hotel is attached to the Red Dog Tavern so we could keep the party going long after the reception! Reviewed on 26-04-2017
Katie Lynch(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 We had both our ceremony and reception at the Madison Hotel. To start off, the interior is absolutely beautiful. The amazing glass greenhouse room for the ceremony was the #1 reason we picked this venue, and it didn't disappoint. The ballroom was freshly painted and absolutely beautiful. Elise was a pleasure to deal with when making all wedding plans, and pretty much everything went smoothly on the wedding day. There were only a few things that were disappointing which is why I did not give 5 starts here. First, we paid a per person ceremony fee, but they did not provide enough chairs for our ceremony. My mother asked Joe, our Maitre D, twice to bring more chairs, which didn't happen. We had about 10 people standing in the back during the ceremony. Secondly, we were supposed to get cupcakes during dessert since we provided our own cake, and never got the cupcakes. Other than those two things, Madison hotel was a great venue, and our wedding was lovely. Reviewed on 19-04-2017
Kara O'Hare(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2016 We had our late September wedding reception at the Madison Hotel and could not have been happier with the venue, service, and staff! We fell in love with the conservatory at first sight and even slightly scaled back our guest list in order to comfortably fit in the room (we ended up with 136). Our flowers were gorgeous next to the lush greenery of the conservatory. Neither of us are from the area, but thought the location was perfect - close to Newark for those flying in, with a train station steps away for our friends from the city. We really loved that everyone could stay at the hotel so there was no need for driving/transportation (we had our ceremony across the street). Since no one had to travel between the ceremony and reception, our guests had the perfect amount of time to check into their rooms and hang out at the hotel bars. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful! We even secured rooms for storing items prior to the wedding, getting ready in that day, and brunch the next morning. We started planning with Sara and finished with Elise and both women were attentive, responsive, and eager to help make our ideas come to life! We were able to make adjustments to the menu and timeline to add our own personal touches. I made sure to try as much of the food as possible (including the cake!) and it was all so delicious! Joe Zimmerman assisted with the final details in the days leading up to the wedding and he was more than helpful during the cocktail hour and reception. Joe made sure we had everything we needed and kept the flow of the evening moving very well. He easily and quietly took care of a small mishaps with minimal disruption. Our guests have all raved about the conservatory and the food! We truly could not have asked for a better weekend or better staff! Thank you so much to everyone! Reviewed on 26-01-2017
