An Intimate, Historic Wedding Venue in Roanoke, VA
The Maridor is a historic wedding venue located in the heart of Roanoke, VA. First built in 1916, this five-bedroom venue offers its grounds as an intimate space for couples to exchange their vows. The exposed brick exterior, emerald green lawns, and cozy accommodations can add a cozy aesthetic to any wedding theme. The versatile Maridor can accommodate a variety of setups to accommodate receptions with up to 120 seated attendees or 150-person cocktail hours. Each part of these grounds has been carefully landscaped to create an enchanting atmosphere for couples to host their big day. Your ceremony can take place in the picturesque courtyard, with a mature oak tree to act as a natural setting for your altar. After you exchange your vows, your guests can enjoy cocktail hour on the sun porch and slate patio decorated with elegant bistro lights. When your guests step into the house, they can move to the 2,000-square-foot ballroom for your indoor reception. Its minimalist design, hardwood floor, and large vintage windows will create a bright, airy atmosphere to any nuptial theme. Two separate get-ready suites are also available inside for you and your wedding parties to prepare for the altar in style. The Maridor’s in-house event coordinator will be present during your big day, to make sure everything goes according to your plan. Their in-house decor options, including their arch choices, drapery and lighting options, will add an elegant aesthetic to your romantic setting. Tables, chairs, and linens will be provided to you to complete your indoor or outdoor event setup. In addition, the five guest rooms are an option for your loved ones to spend the wedding weekend. The onsite team can also connect you with their list of trusted vendors, including florists, photographers, and live bands, to help complete your vision.

The Maridor is a beautiful house to have a small, initiate wedding. I stayed at the Maridor the night before, which made getting ready easier. Brenda is an amazing Wedding Coordinator!! Any concerns we had she handled them! I was concerned with the minimum of Christmas decor and she brought the venue to life! Brenda was socializing with our guests and making sure they were okay and taking care of any issues that day. She made the planning and decorating process so much easier. We used decor that is provided to brides and decorated variety of spaces. Our photographers were creative with using the space to capture beautiful pictures. We used their catering service. Our guests really enjoyed the cocktail hour options. We just have two complaints. One, there was a camera by the rooms the night we stayed. There was no sign stating that we were being recorded. It was not mentioned either when we chose to stay there. This made my bridal party and myself feel very uncomfortable. We had a pillow to cover it for privacy and a staff member came upstairs and removed it. The other complaint we had was we had 20 people not come, with 6 having Covid. We were unfortunately not reimbursed for those six at least. You will not receive any food that is paid for if people don’t come. Overall, it was a great space for our small, intimate wedding.

We had a lovely experience at The Maridor! It was completely perfect for our wedding of 100. If you are looking for a one-stop-shop wedding experience, this is it. The venue coordinator is such a delight and will help you along the way. Another perk is we were able to house family on sight using the 5 bedrooms upstairs. Go check it out, you will fall in love with its charm.

I am not exaggerating when I say Brenda and her staff at the Maridor were a massive part of what made our wedding so special! Brenda made sure that we were taken care of so that by the time of the wedding, we had nothing to worry about. Their wedding package includes more than what most venues in the area offer, and is priced better too. Brenda will go above and beyond to give you everything that you want/need. The house and property are beautiful and well-maintained, the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and on top of everything. Need a suggestion? They got you. Have a crazy idea? They'll hear you out and help to make it a reality. Need help with any part of the wedding planning process? They have the experience and know-how to help you. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about the Maridor. I would 100% recommend the Maridor to anyone looking for a place to get married. You will not be disappointed.

We just had our wedding on 6/4/22 and it was beautiful. Brenda was very attentive and paid attention to every detail. She took time to make sure everything went smoothly. Her hard work allowed me (the bride) to relax and enjoy the day. The food was excellent. There was a wide variety to choose from when we were planning the menu. No one left hungry. We loved getting ready in the spacious bridal suite. We had the ceremony, reception and even photos taken inside. The photos still turned out great since the space was gorgeous. I loved that we were able to use some of their decor that past brides had donated in our wedding. I created centerpieces for our tables but paid it forward like they did and left them for a new bride to use. Would definitely recommend!

10/10 highly recommend this beautiful venue! Let me start with the venue itself. I love that it’s turnkey, beautifully maintained, and so close to downtown Roanoke. It made reserving hotel rooms in the downtown area super easy. The tree in the back yard was phenomenal to get married under. The owner put lights and drapery up for us and the end result was gorgeous; especially at night. Not only is this place beautiful, it’s so affordable and convenient. I rented all of the rooms for the entire weekend for my immediate family and it made it so easy and less time constraining for the actual wedding day. They also have a whole basement full of decor items that you have access to! Parking for guest was so easy. There’s a large church parking lot right next door that can accommodate all of your guests. The entire venue is so esthetically pleasing that it made it so easy to take pictures inside and outside. Brenda was phenomenal to work with. My husband and I are both active duty military and had to plan this whole wedding from California. Brenda was easy to communicate with and super organized. On the day of the wedding she helped make all of the events flow and was always around to help us with any questions. She even brought my husband and I appetizers during our family formal pictures; which was the sweetest gesture and so greatly appreciated. She decorated our tables for the rehearsal dinner so beautifully as well! The owner and staff at the Maridor are so friendly and just go above and beyond. Mel and her mom are so friendly and very hard workers! The owner even went the extra mile to drive all the way to Christianburg to try and replace the lights that went behind the drapery in the ballroom on the day of our wedding. Mel gave us fresh towels and luxurious body soap by the bath tub during my wedding because she knew how excited I was to soak in that glorious tub in the bridal suite after the wedding! The food is phenomenal and received so many compliments from all of our guests! Highly recommend the tator bombs! Overall, I was so extremely happy with having our wedding at the Maridor.

Michael and I fell in love with Maridor the minute we stepped onto the property and met with Jennifer, who gave us a thorough tour and answered all of our questions both during and multiple times after the tour. We could just picture how our family members and friends would enjoy the warmth of the house and its picturesque surrounding as they mingle and meet for the first time on our big day. Our experience with all of Maridor thereafter was absolutely exceptional! Brenda was accommodating, available, flexible, and warm! There was no dumb questions! On the big day, we were relaxed and absolutely enjoyed ourselves as Brenda ensured everything ran smoothly. The staff was well, again, warm and accomodating. Due to the pandemic, we did everything outdoor except the dance. It was such a lovely afternoon and evening in a beautifully decorated setting! Our guests had nothing but positive to say about the food and their experience at Maridor. I told Brenda that I wish we could capture the moment in a bottle and savor it forever! We could not have asked for a better venue, and I would recommend Maridor to anyone!

Brenda, Day of Coordinator, is a true professional. This lady is ready for anything! Melissa, helped with set up days before hand. Her kindness and attention to detail is something I'll never forget. She made us feel so relaxed!The owner is a gem! So friendly and welcoming. Takes great price in the shape of the building...which is beyond beautiful. My daughter and son-in-law had their wedding and reception at the Maridor in October 2019 and it was absolutely wonderful! Every member of the staff, including the owner of the property, was just delightful to deal with. The warmth and professionalism that was extended to everyone involved with the wedding was amazing. The venue itself is simply stunning and the decor was perfect. There was a buffet style meal that was delicious - all the guests gave rave reviews. I don't think the experience could possibly have been any better and I am happy to recommend this wedding venue to anyone who is looking for that special place - whether it's for a wedding or any other event that calls for that special touch!

Every member of the staff, including the owner of the property, was just delightful to deal with. The warmth and professionalism that was extended to everyone involved with the wedding was amazing. The Maridor was recommended to us after we had some issues with our original venue & had to change. We came & looked at the house around a month before our wedding day. Even with that short planning time, Brenda pulled together the most beautiful wedding! She helped me so much with every decision & kept me calm the entire time. The venue has everything you need including linens, china & even decorations. On the big day Brenda took care of all the details & kept everything running smoothly. She was amazing! The whole day was so stunning & fun that my engaged friends were asking about booking their wedding at The Maridor before we left that night! I highly recommend using Brenda & The Maridor for your wedding, you won’t regret it!

We had our September wedding reception at the Maridor and everything was perfect! The food, decorations, and hospitality were all amazing. Brenda went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and the event ran smoothly. She even made sure my husband and I had some of the appetizers that were being served during our cocktail hour while we were taking photographs. Our day was absolute perfect thanks to the staff at the Maridor!

This venue provides all chairs/tables, decoration options, plates, silverware, space for ceremony outside and flexibility for inside if it rains, rooms for guys/gals to get ready or stay the night, and a 2k sq ft ballroom! They also provided all catering needs along with staff for the bar and serving food! This venue is like a hole-in-one! Plus, it’s a beautiful old home. Free parking for hundreds of guests as well. The ONLY downside we found was that the house is old and big, so keeping the entire space cool during a hot summer day is challenging while getting ready and once we got to dancing. Still 5 stars for us! Price was $900 for ceremony plus $60/per person for food/reception. That price is all inclusive of services, so turns out well. Minimum 35 guests.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. My husband and I loved having our wedding at The Maridor!!!. The venue is absolutely stunning, and the antique style is timeless. We barely decorated because it is so lovely on it’s own. The food was delicious. (I’m still getting compliments from my guests). More than anything, the staff were truly fantastic. The waitstaff and bartenders were professional, kind and VERY attentive to my guests. My favorite, though, was Brenda who was our planner and day of coordinator. She invested a lot of time when planning to help me prepare and make my wedding dreams come true. On the day of the wedding, she was my calm in the inevitable wedding storm. Figuratively and literally because it rained on our big day. She and the staff moved all of the outdoor ceremony seating inside in a magical transition, while I stayed with my bridal party. It was wonderful. Brenda helped keep us on schedule and grounded, and made sure we had everything we needed. We couldn’t have done it without her! Oh, and did I mention how affordable it is? For a venue that is gorgeous and includes catering, a day of coordinator, staff, chairs/tables/linens/some decorations, I could not believe how affordable it was. If you are looking to get married in Roanoke, you MUST look here!!!

For a venue that is gorgeous and includes catering, a day of coordinator, staff, chairs/tables/linens/some decorations, I could not believe how affordable it was. We can't believe how flawlessly the wedding of our dreams came together thanks to our coordinator, Brenda, and the rest of the Maridor staff! From the beginning Brenda was so helpful in planning every tiny detail and making sure we had everything we could ever want. They allowed us to make our very own menu and it came together so perfectly, they were even able to make a few things gluten free for our guests and we got SO many compliments on the food! Brenda took so much stress away from our day because she truly ran the show, from making sure tables and chairs were set up how we wanted, sending everyone down the aisle at the right time, corralling guests to where they needed to be, and even bringing some of the cocktail hour appetizers out for my husband and I to snack on while we were taking pictures! We can't recommend this venue enough, not just because of Brenda and the rest of the staff, but it's also such a beautiful property that made our day so special!

I found the Maridor when my original wedding venue had to cancel due to a massive flood- the week before Christmas!! I panicked that I had to scramble to find somewhere else to have our wedding, and felt like giving up & eloping. Then I found the Maridor, and everything was saved. First of all, the home is EQUISITE- it’s beautifully-maintained, and the grounds are simply gorgeous. Rita and David (the owners), take such amazing care of the home and the people who choose to have their wedding there. Brenda & Jen, the wedding coordinators, are true professionals who cater to every need and dream of the bride and groom. Brenda spent months helping me re-work my wedding dream, and made it all a reality for us on our big day (April 13th!). Ashley, the incredible chef, created delicious dishes that the guests are STILL talking about. Melissa and the other staff set up the garden for our ceremony, and the ballroom for our reception. They took my table seating plans and worked it all out EXACTLY how we wanted. The bartender was also FABULOUS- he was quite a hit with the guests! When I look back on our wedding day, I have nothing but incredible memories and things to say about The Maridor and it’s WONDERFUL crew. Brides, this place is a dream come true. The Maridor was a great choice for our small-ish (80 guest) reception at the end of April! The old house has so much charm and the new owners that took over last summer (in 2017) have made some nice improvements. We held our wedding ceremony at church, but were still able to take advantage of the beautiful yard/ceremony space by holding our cocktail hour outside. The real gem of The Maridor though is the people! Rita and Brenda were so easy to work with! They were helpful with suggestions on décor and table arrangements, prompt in responses to emails, and VERY flexible with some last minute schedule changes for us to drop off/set up items the day before the reception. On the wedding day, the food was great, the venue was polished, and reception could not have gone more smoothly. The Maridor staff helped to make our wedding reception so special and memorable! The Maridor was an excellent choice for our wedding and reception in late August. We were planning the wedding from out-of-town, and the owners and staff made that process easy. Many items that you would need to rent for other venues (chairs, tables, tablecloths, dishes) are included in the overall price. They provide an “elite vendor” list which was helpful in finding our florist and wedding cake vendors. The reception meal is fully-catered on-site, and there are a variety of delicious food choices. There is a lovely bridal suite upstairs for the bride and bridesmaids to dress, and the groom and groomsmen had a nice dressing area, too. The outdoor ceremony location was intimate and peaceful. Having the wedding and reception all on-site made it easy for our guests. The beautifully-decorated historic home provided a comfortable gathering place for drinks and appetizers between the wedding and reception. The ballroom with inlaid mahogany floors was a wonderful setting for dinner, dancing and other reception activities. The owners, Rita and Dave Fecteau, are easily available and accommodating as needs arise as are the other staff who were assisting. Jenna Harris, Ashley and the ladies who conducted the rehearsal and reception activities were all very helpful. We would highly recommend this venue!

I had my ceremony and reception at the Maridor for my December wedding. I can't imagine having it anywhere else, it was absolutely perfect for everything. The house is beautifully decorated fort he holidays, the food was incredible and the service that they provide was beyond what I imagined I could have on my wedding day. The Maridor made my wedding the one I dreamed of and recommend it everyone. They were easy to work with, understanding, hospitable, affordable and perfect all around. They provided a beautiful, warm, cozy, fun place to celebrate!

The maridor is an absolutely amazing place to get married. Everything was spectacular. The food is cooked by one of the owners( a husband and wife team), and is just delicious. The wife helps coordinate everything and really gets rid of the need for a bride to spend loads on a wedding planner! I cant say enough good things about this venue, it is an absolute dream!!! Also, it is a great price for everything that you get!!

We were able to have the formality of incredible gourmet food and a beautiful venue, with the flexibility to accomodate so many kids! The owners, Brette and Henry, were both very \"hands on\" throughout both the planning stage and the day-of activities. Brette made me feel very comfortable in planning our event in a short amount of time, and made sure every detail was handled professionally. I was getting married in VA but living in California so needless to say I had a hard time finding the perfect place that would be flexible with my situation and easy to communicate with but when I found the Maridor I knew it was the right place. Not only is the whole area absolutely beautiful, the prices are great, food is amazing, and Brette and Henry are just so friendly and genuinely caring! They did an amazing job and were so easy to get in touch with and made everything go so smoothly. If anything went wrong that day they made sure I had no idea what happened but ended up getting everything perfect for our big day! I couldn’t be happier, so if you’re in the Roanoke area check them out you won’t be sorry!!!
