The Meadows at Walnut Cove Reviews
Jessica Duke(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-10-2018 Best venue in NC! Their all inclusive packages are the best! The venue has everything you could ask for in an outdoor ceremony and reception. Reviewed on 20-01-2019
Taylor Vent(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-04-2023 This venue was so easy to work with and very transparent with pricing. You don't have to invest a bunch of your time before they're even willing to tell you the cost, it's all outlined right on the website. Even though they are priced by package, they are incredibly flexible and we got credits for our lower headcount and less requirements for florals than what was budgeted. I primarily worked with Tyler the entire time leading up to the event which was so easy and always had a response to my emails within a couple of days. Darlene took over once the day actually came and they more than exceeded my expectations. Everything ran smoothly and I was truly blown away by the venue and their staff. If I had a complaint, it would just be that I wished the final money details were available during my final meeting instead of having to email and ask for them. Thank you so much for making such an important day so easy. Reviewed on 21-04-2023
Brandee Grate(other)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-10-2022 Only giving 1 star because I still had a great time at my wedding even though NOTHING went as planned. Disclaimer: We are two BLACK women getting married, so this may not be everyone’s experience but our experience was VERY terrible.Planning process: Communication with the venue is TERRIBLE!!! Multiple messages and emails left unanswered and once I spoke about my dissatisfaction, then we finally got answers but barely. For example, in June I asked about the rehearsal day and I was told it’s on a first come first serve basis and I would need to pick a time, which I did and NEVER got a response saying it was confirmed which I constantly inquired about and received no response once again. It wasn’t until our 45-day planning meeting (September) I was told someone recently took the time I asked for so I would need to pick a different time. The meeting was pointless because we didn’t get most of the things we asked for such as aisle decor they had at their venue that was not provided to us. The venue tried to make it seem like I was crazy by saying they respond to all of my messages but I have TONS of messages, emails, phone calls to prove that is not true. I also tried multiple times to leave voicemails and the box was full.Day-of-process: The wedding coordinator, TYLER, left the venue multiple times during set up and had no answers to any questions my bridal party asked about set up. He did not follow the schedule we made during the planning process because he was not present during the meeting (which they showed up 30 minutes late to because they don’t read our emails!!) so it made no sense for him to be the official day of coordinator. On the schedule, we had that we would be introduced and go straight into our first dance, instead, Tyler told us to sit and served us dinner (which was very cold). We had to tell him that was not right and we should be doing our first dance which made our food even colder. No heat burners were on to keep the food warm. They didn’t even put our cake topper on our cake like we asked and once we asked where our cake topper was, their response was “I thought you had one but idk where it is”. The ceremony was also delayed because they had none of our ceremony essentials at the spot like our unity sand which is pretty important. DJ: Completely screwed up multiple times calling us “bride and groom”, one to two times is a mistake, but all night?? come on now very disrespectful and unprofessional. We did not feel welcomed at all by the DJ because of this. We were also required to make a 30 minute playlist for the ceremony seating and NONE of the songs were played which was a waste of our time. Not to mention he kept asking us what songs did we want played for each part of the wedding which is stupid because we put all of that information on the pointless planning website!!!!!!!!Photo booth: Excellent addition to the night BUT the frame was knocked over and none of the venue people fixed it AND the printer stopped working and began to print all black pictures, so we paid for defective equipment. The Meadows is a beautiful place to host a wedding but we are very unhappy and not satisfied with what we received for the price we paid. Completely not worth it. Get outside vendors if you still want to try this place, ESPECIALLY an outside DJ and make sure you have a personal wedding coordinator to make sure everything YOU planned, goes as such. Gabi Hogan(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2019 Beware: everything at this venue is not as it initially seems. My husband and I went to tour the venue back in June and were sold on the first day. We met with Tyler, which is apparently the owner, and that was the very last we heard from him. It wouldn't have been an issue if there was better communication; however, it felt like we were simply passed from person to person. I didn't even realize who Donna was until Mary (which is Tyler's wife) passed us onto her. We were told things by the initial person we met with, which proved to be untrue. Don't get me wrong, this is an absolutely gorgeous place to get married; however, the staff is not necessarily up to par with the price you pay in my opinion. I definitely wouldn't change anything about our wedding, but the staff at the venue who were supposed to make things easier just ended up causing more stress on top of the stress we were already feeling with the wedding. On top of it all, the staff were not involved with our rehearsal, so on the day of the wedding one of the staff members (the coordinator that was filling in because our original coordinator needed to be off that night) was trying to send our bridal party down at the incorrect time. If they had of been present and involved a mistake like that would not have occurred. Also, if you do not purchase one of the packages they offer at the venue, then you might as well not have your wedding there. My husband and I decided to purchase the venue only and as a result were left to fend for ourselves, which we were initially assured would definitely NOT happen. It was difficult for us to make appointments with Donna and it felt as though we came last. In business, I have always been under the impression that the customer always comes first, and being a soon-to-be bride I definitely expected to come first, but that was not the case. Our wedding ended up being beautiful and all that I had ever dreamed of, but I wish we had knew some of the stuff we know now about the wedding venue prior to booking. Kristy or Kristine was a wonderful help and made our wedding day that much more special, which we were thankful for. Reviewed on 08-01-2020
Sarah Parsons(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2018 Loved the location. Donna was such a pleasure to work with. She always answered all of my questions. I would recommend that they wouldn't allow a wedding every day of the weekend just because I felt pressured the night of my wedding to make sure they had everything set for the wedding the following day. They were pretty eager to ask for things that I didn't want to take away from the wedding. Which did mean less things for me to take away that night, but still felt a little off about that.I would choose this place again anyways through the patchy things. Reviewed on 02-02-2019
Ashley Chilton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 Our wedding was absolutely stunning! We were one of the first couples to book a wedding at this venue, and we finally had our wedding! I cannot believe how smooth our day was and how beautifully it went. The Meadows will go above and beyond to make sure your day is the best. I would recommend this venue to any couple! Carly Stafford(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-04-2018 Such a beautiful venue! It's pretty new, so they definitely have some kinks to work out when it comes their payment schedules and contracts, but the actual venue is gorgeous and they're adding new stuff every season. They were very flexible with their inclusive packages. I wasn't a fan of several of their preferred vendors, but they allow you to pick and choose what you want to include, so that made it very easy. The grooms cabin does need some amenities and the gravel walkways could use some work, but I think these are things that venues figure out over time. I'm so happy we found this place when we did and I think it'll start getting very popular in the years to come! Reviewed on 15-05-2018
Ashley Cohn(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2017 This was a wonderful place to get married. Not only was the view fantastic but the owners were always there to answer any questions. We met several times with them and each time they helped walk us through everything and even brought up things we hadn’t thought of yet. Not to mention the many times we called when we thought of something that wasn’t talked about. Donna was AMAZING and made sure we had everything we needed for the wedding day and that neither one of us were stressed. Reviewed on 28-09-2017
Erin Greene(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-05-2017 The venue is BEAUTIFUL, so well thought out, and flexible enough to be able to fit a variety of styles. The staff is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and very accessible. Having my ceremony and reception here was a breeze and truly made the day so enjoyable. One thing to note, it is relatively far from anything else (towns, hotels, etc). Reviewed on 27-06-2017
