We had the absolute best experience at the Merion. Calli was our event specialist and was always so helpful, kind and available for all of our questions and needs. Our day of was so smooth all we had to do was show up and walk down the aisle. The food was incredible, every single guest was RAVING about it! I wish I could relive our day over and over again, it truly was so magical. Our day of staff was also so supportive making sure we were good and helped us with anything we needed! We love love love the Merion and would recommend to anyone!

We had the absolute best experience at the Merion. Calli was our event specialist and was always so helpful, kind and available for all of our questions and needs. Our day of was so smooth all we had to do was show up and walk down the aisle. The food was incredible, every single guest was RAVING about it! I wish I could relive our day over and over again, it truly was so magical. Our day of staff was also so supportive making sure we were good and helped us with anything we needed! Working with the Merion, specifically Calli, was just so easy from the start. The venue is absolutely beautiful! We had our ceremony in the Skylight ballroom while the reception in the palazzo. Calli was so helpful throughout the entire process and everyone loved all the food. The amount of food that was offered during cocktail hour, dinner and dessert was just crazy (in a good way). We even knew what was included and it was still shocking to see it all the day of! They were also great in mixing Indian food along with the American since it was an interracial wedding. Everyone loved the experience and has not stopped messaging us about how great everything was! We literally couldn't have done it with out Calli, The Merion and the staff!

The Merion gave me and my wife one of the best days imaginable. Food, incredible. Ambiance, beautiful. Service, unmatched. Holly really stepped up and made our day seamless! I would highly recommend the Merion to anyone looking for a venue. The palazzo is huge and was perfect for our 275 person wedding. People are still talking about the food at our wedding, and that was the main reason we booked in the first place. This place does weddings, they have experience, and they take all the pressure off the bride and groom. Wonderful experience.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Merion last week and all in all, it was a very nice experience. The Palazzo Ballroom is absolutely stunning and the food and drinks were all fantastic. Holly was so helpful in accommodating our needs as well, and I was always able to email her with my questions.I had a few complaints that make it hard for me to give the venue five stars. One of them is that there is no good space for getting dressed at the Merion - we managed to use two of the lounges for me and my party to get dressed, but to be honest, it was hacked together for us to use as a dressing room and was a very sub-optimal space. Plus, we had to pay extra to be able to use it for more than 2 hours before the party began. The other thing is that up until like an hour before everything was supposed to start, there was no one there to help coordinate with vendors. No venue coordinator, no maitre d, no one. I had to keep interrupting my hair and makeup to go try and run around and figure out venue issues with my vendors. Not what I wanted to be doing. I did notice however that multiple times that tour groups of folks visiting the venue were walking by us and the dressing room, and it made me feel like there were people on site that could have been taking care of us but were choosing to prioritize potential customers over those who had already paid them. All in all, I don't regret having our reception here, it was still a great experience and we had a lovely time. But I think there are ways in terms of service that I think it could have been improved.

We started working with Stephanie, our event specialist, about a year prior to the big day. Throughout the course of the year, Stephanie was amazing. We could not have had such a phenomenal event without her help. She is communicative, easy to work with, and genuine. It can be quite stressful to plan a wedding, but Stephanie reduces that stress with ease!The day itself was undoubtedly incredible. From the food, to the beautiful décor, to the staff attentiveness - there was no stone left unturned to help make this night truly a once in a lifetime night. Words cannot express how thankful we are for Stephanie and the entire Merion team for making our night special.If you are considering The Merion for your wedding (or any event, for that matter), do yourself a favor and follow through. You will not be disappointed. I wholeheartedly recommend both The Merion and Stephanie.

My husband and I were married on 6/24/23 and I could not be happier with the service we received at the Merion and with our event specialist- Calli!! She really went above and beyond to make our day special. Our guests raved that the cocktail hour was the most AMAZING and over-the-top assortment of food they have ever seen at a wedding. Our guests also told us that the bartenders were so on it, that when they put their empty glass down, a new one would appear right in front of them before the empty glass could hit the table. Calli was with us from the moment we arrived at the venue, communicating with the other event coordinators to make sure our every need was met via an earpiece microphone. We truly felt like royalty. If you are looking to have the wedding of your dreams, look not further. The Merion (and Calli!) have it all.

My husband and I got married at the Merion MAY 2023. Ceremony outdoors at the garden and reception in the Palace Ballroom. It was an absolute dream, the venue is gorgeous inside and out, our guest cannot stop raving about the food (the Asian station is an absolute must needed upgrade itâs amazing), and all the staff members were so helpful. Shoutout to Stephanie Lamberti, she helped plan the perfect day and also was there to make sure it was the way we wanted it. We would recommend The Merion to anyone!!

The Merion was the SECOND place we looked when searching for a venue for our wedding. I was immediately captures by the beauty and regality of the Skylight room and our search was over in one day! Holly was our Event Specialist and she was friendly from the start. I appreciate how she was always available to answer my questions any time of day or night. She even laughed at my corny jokes. She kept by our side during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and was so accommodating â helping us get food, drinks, and keeping our wedding party in check. Our server Maria and MaĂźtre d Scott were also wonderful, attentive, friendly, and fun to be around. The food was AMAZING and everyone kept telling how us this was the âbest wedding everâ all thanks to the staff at the Merion. They even had a couple of surprises throughout the night. Overall, the Merion made us feel so special, and made every dream we had for our wedding come true. THANK YOU to everyone who made my dreams since I was a kid possible â we are forever grateful and canât wait to renew our vows at the Merion in 20 years!

My husband and I just had our reception here last Saturday. Our on-site coordinator/sales rep Calli was wonderful to work with. She made sure everything ran smoothly the day of and was right there at the entrance waiting for me and my husband when we arrived from the church where we had our ceremony. For the price that you pay, you get A LOT of food and it was pretty tasty. All of my guests raved at how much they loved the cocktail hour, dinner and dessert selections. Calli made sure the Christmas decorations were still up because most of our photos were taken inside. The lobby was gorgeously decorated and the premises (bathrooms for example) were clean. The service was amazing too. There was a bartender there named Manny who took care of everyone's drink needs. What I especially love is that you didn't have to pay extra for things like valet parking or coat check or wedding cake, it was included. If you have your event there on a Saturday they include a carving station and seafood bar. Everyone loves the skylight ballroom but we had the Palace Ballroom and it was perfect for us. I hope to be able to come back again as a guest so I can eat more of the food!

Words cannot express how wonderful the staff at The Merion were! Calli and her team were so welcoming and accommodating and made the whole process easy! The hall was beautiful, the staff were very quick and very nice! My guests and my bridal party continued to rave how beautiful everything was and how delicious the food was! The hall was beautiful, the staff were very quick and very nice! My guests and my bridal party continued to rave how beautiful everything was and how delicious the food was! I got married at the Merion in September. I will say that the staff that worked my wedding on the actual day/night were amazing and attentive. My piece of advice to anyone that chooses this venue for their wedding would be to make sure that the person youâre working with reads your emails properly and you constantly follow up with them to ensure all your needs are met.My coordinator was Stephanie, and although great at first, I felt started to care less and less as we got closer to my wedding date (possibly because everything was paid for at this point). I emailed her on 3 separate occasions over the course of a month that we needed to use the projector in the largest room (where my reception was being held) and she didnât acknowledge it. I thought maybe itâs not a huge deal since sheâs responding to other things and just not that and itâs just something we have to make sure is set up the day of. Well I was wrong, and my parents arrived to my reception only to be demanded by Stephanie for almost $500 to use the projector for 5 minutes for my same day edit. Now although I think this price was a bit steep since our same day edit itself costed less than that to have made and the fact that thereâs a giant chandelier blocking the projector screen, the money wasnât the concern. Itâs the fact that Stephanie refused to allow them to pay by credit card or to have a separate invoice sent over later. After a 3 day Indian wedding, my parents thought they could finally relax and enjoy my reception but no they had to somehow find $500 IN CASH with no warning. The fact that I sent multiple emails to Stephanie asking for the projector so far ahead of time makes me more upset because this was her mistake, not ours.A few weeks after the wedding and everything settled, I emailed Stephanie about how we were upset with how we were treated. Stephanie said she would âtalk to the partnersâ and get back to us. She did not apologize at any point (even when I screenshotted her all the emails I sent her about the projector) and just didnât seem to care. Itâs been 3 weeks now, and we still have not gotten any response from the partners. Itâs obviously not about the money, as when you spend thousands and thousands of dollars already on your wedding, $500 isnât going to break the bank. Itâs the way we were treated and there was no apology or acknowledgement for stressing my parents out. Weâve never been late on a payment for us to be treated that way either.Aside from the projector fiasco, I also emailed Stephanie to have a certain number of chairs in the reserved rows for our ceremony, which Iâm not sure she passed onto the set up team because they were not accurate and we had some members of the bridal party not have seats at the front because of this.Overall the merion is beautiful and I know our guests enjoyed everything so much and the cocktail hour was amazing and again the staff that worked the event were great. Thatâs why I gave this 3 stars.Iâm not sure if this is a partners or a Stephanie issue because theyâre not communicating properly with us at this point. Mistakes happen, itâs how you handle it that can make or break a clientâs experience. Brides (and anyone getting married) know how stressful it is going through with a wedding, and although our vendors have done all of this a million times, itâs important for them to remember this is your one important day.

She did not apologize at any point (even when I screenshotted her all the emails I sent her about the projector) and just didnât seem to care. Itâs been 3 weeks now, and we still have not gotten any response from the partners. Itâs obviously not about the money, as when you spend thousands and thousands of dollars already on your wedding, $500 isnât going to break the bank. Itâs the way we were treated and there was no apology or acknowledgement for stressing my parents out. Weâve never been late on a payment for us to be treated that way either.Aside from the projector fiasco, I also emailed Stephanie to have a certain number of chairs in the reserved rows for our ceremony, which Iâm not sure she passed onto the set up team because they were not accurate and we had some members of the bridal party not have seats at the front because of this.Overall the merion is beautiful and I know our guests enjoyed everything so much and the cocktail hour was amazing and again the staff that worked the event were great. Thatâs why I gave this 3 stars.Iâm not sure if this is a partners or a Stephanie issue because theyâre not communicating properly with us at this point. Mistakes happen, itâs how you handle it that can make or break a clientâs experience. Brides (and anyone getting married) know how stressful it is going through with a wedding, and although our vendors have done all of this a million times, itâs important for them to remember this is your one important day.

The Merion is an amazing venue from start to finish. We only saw one other location before submitting our deposit. The Skylight ballroom was the perfect spot for our Blacktie 150 person reception! The food was INCREDIBLE and the space so elegant. The Merion staff was always so accommodating and easy to work with. It was one of the best experiences of the entire process. The Merion was the location of my grandfather's wedding in 1991 and my dad's junior prom back in the 80's--I am so glad we could add another life event to the space!

We had our reception and ceremony in the skylight ballroom and people would not stop talking about how cool the room is. Next is the food, it's 5 star quality from beginning to end. Cocktail hour is INSANE and everyone will rave about it for years to come. And I have to give it up to the staff, you are treated like royalty from the moment you get there until you leave. There is always someone there offering you a drink, food, making sure everything is up to your expectations. There's also a few surprises that they throw in for the bride and groom that I won't spoil, but it really brings the whole thing together. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We had our ceremony in the North Garden and our reception in the Skylight ballroom, which is breathtakingly beautiful and accommodates many guests. The staff at the Merion were so incredibly kind, helpful, very responsive and answered every last one of my questions. They helped to take the stress out of the wedding planning process. As a COVID bride, we were worried about having to make adjustments to our head count, however, the Merion worked with us and were understanding of the things that were simply not in our control. We worked with a number of different wedding coordinators, including Ariana, Janine and Christina. Christina was with us on the day of our wedding, and she helped to run the show, from start to finish. Our maitre d' was also very helpful, and was a calming presence on the day of. Let's talk FOOD - the list of food options at the Merion is UNBEATABLE. The cocktail hour alone is unmatched. Our guests were reaching out in the days following the wedding to tell us that they had never seen food like that at a wedding before. There is such a wide array of options when choosing your menu. Everything was truly DELICIOUS, cooked to perfection. The dessert tables were a hit with everyone, including the donut wall, the candy bar, the milkshake station, and the fancy cocktails. The Merion was very communicative with all of our vendors, and helped to ensure that everything was set up and arranged well ahead of time. My family and I dropped off boxes of items the day of our wedding, and Christina made sure that everything was in its place before our guests arrived. They also arranged to have everything packed up for us and ready to go home at the end of the night. Let the venue speak for itself, everything about it is stunning, it is a very classy and elegant venue - and they have many different ballrooms, all with a different feel, depending on what you're looking for. My husband and I couldn't be happier. Our coordinator was Janine and she was FANTASTIC. I contacted her sooooo many times and I swear she got sick of me, but never showed it. She was extremely professional and helped us with literally EVERYTHING we needed. Our ceremony was outside in the North Garden and it was exactly what we wanted. We had our reception in the Empire Ballroom and it was such a cool, fun vibe. There was so much food and the best drinks. Throughout the last year of COVID-19 and our two postponements, I was never once worried about the Merion. The owners, managers, and coordinators were so responsive to all of my questions during COVID and made a point to make my husband and I feel comfortable that our wedding would run smoothly no matter what. Our Merion coordinator, Stephanie, is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She is so organized, efficient, thoughtful, and kind. She promptly answered every single question during the planning process and on the day of, there was not a single detail out of place. She coordinates it all perfectly so that you don't have to worry the moment you step foot in the Merion. Not only was Steph amazing, but the entire staff was as well. I was blown away by how attentive and kind every single staff member at the Merion was to not only myself and my husband, but to all of our guests as well. The Merion's grounds are breathtaking with beautiful landscaping and decor ready for the perfect photo ops. And the FOOD. While there are so many selling points to have a wedding at the Merion, the food is absolutely number one. The food is insane -- not only in quality but in quantity. The cocktail hour is unbelievable. It's pretty difficult to save room for your entree, but you have to because the main courses are even better. I can't wait to go back to the Merion as a guest so that I can spend all my time eating the food.I can't recommend the Merion enough. My husband and I got married here on 7/2/21 and cannot say better things about this venue. We originally had a different venue booked in Philadelphia but chose to move to NJ due to COVID-19 restrictions in March 2021. Stephanie was always quick to answer us by e-mail and made it so easy when we needed to visit the venue or meet with her to discuss details about the wedding. Not a single person left the wedding hungry and everyone told me it was the wedding to be at. I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. Once I walked through the door, my husband and I were greeted with champagne and once we headed down to the Empire Room, we were given food and our signature cocktails plus welcomed by the maĂźtre d and servers. I highly suggest this venue to anyone that wants the perfect wedding day as I never had any stress thanks to the wonderful staff at The Merion.

What a wonderful night! My husband and I got married after 2 postponements at The Merion on July 2. Everyone was so impressed by the food, service, and splendor of the ballroom. We booked The Merion back in December 2018 and had 4 different Wedding Coordinators during that time. Our final coordinator, Calli, we met just at the beginning of June. Calli was great to work with! She was personable, friendly, and willing to accommodate our needs. My only advice is keep all your documents from The Merion and get everything in writingâespecially if you have a long engagementâbecause packages do slightly change from year to year so this will ensure you get everything you were promised. Through our transitions of coordinators, Cliff was also always there and very helpful! Our day of staff, Eric & Maria were extremely friendly & helpful. By the end of the night Maria (our head server) had a Diet Coke (my favorite drink) always waiting for me! I cannot say enough about The Merion and highly recommend. One of my friends said it best, âyour wedding was top tier. Itâs going to be hard to beat.â It was truly a magical day!

We just had our wedding at the Merion. What a beautiful venue! The food was fantastic and the staff was extremely helpful. The day of our wedding it was 70 degrees no humidity. The night of our wedding it seemed like the heat was on inside the Merion. I was sweating the entire time during my cocktail hour which completely ruined my hair. So as the bride, the rest of my pictures looked awful. I had several guests say how hot it was as well. My bridal suite was hot was well even with the fan on. This was my only complaint the night of our wedding. Everything else was great.

Getting engaged and finding the perfect Venue is always a tough decision. I received so much great reviews from people about the Merion. Me and my FiancĂ© actually had our Senior prom there and remember how beautiful it was and decided to check it out! Just pulling around the corner we saw how beautiful it was just from the outside. After meeting with Stephanie, and getting a tour it was so so tough to pick a room! They were all absolutely stunning!! We selected the skylight ballroom and picked our date!! Everything from the beginning to end was so organized and perfect. Stephanie managed to keep us updated and checked in every so often as it came closer to our date. We had to deal with some Covid restrictions, however Stephanie and the Merion team made us feel perfectly comfortable that our special day would be wonderful. There was not one single thing we could say negative about the Merion! The day was perfect, they make you feel like the president once you arrive! There was an insane amount of food, people still cant stop talking about it, and not only the amount but every single thing tasted like 5 star restaurant quality! It hard to get to the food as a bride but the Merion always made sure I had a little of everything at my table incase I missed out! I also had Eric as my maitre dâ, Dee as my captain & Maria as my head server and they were all absolutely fantastic from start to end!! I could write for days and days about this place and how amazing everything was from the day we booked and on. I cant thank everyone there enough! My family is already asking whoâs getting married next so we can go back! The Merion is a dream for every future bride out there! The pictures are beautiful, the food is amazing, the price was perfect, and the staff is fantastic!

I could write for days and days about this place and how amazing everything was from the day we booked and on. I cant thank everyone there enough! My family is already asking whoâs getting married next so we can go back! The Merion is a dream for every future bride out there! The pictures are beautiful, the food is amazing, the price was perfect, and the staff is fantastic!

I wish I wrote this sooner but I absolutely love The Merion. My husband and I were married there Sept 2020. We went to the Merion for a bridal show that they were hosting early in the planning process. We were so amazed with that single show a week later we were booking without seeing another venue. We actually found almost all our venues at that show because it was so well hosted and the groups we found there worked so well with The Merion it was so easy. My wedding coordinator was Jolene. She was amazing and I genuinely feel like she cared about our wedding like she would a family member. My day was perfect and I will be forever grateful for them.

I just had my wedding two weeks ago in the skylight room. my experience with the Merion is absolutely amazing from the beginning to the end. they really do care about their customers a lot. My planner was Adriana and she was amazing and then changed to Alyssa and she was very very helpful (honestly I really really don't know what I would've done without her) I didn't have a day of coordinator and Alyssa worked really hard to make sure everything was going great and the way I wanted, she helped me setting up my centerpieces which was a tremendous help, and setting up everything actually. she is super nice person and great to work with.Dave was amazing he was making sure all night that everything is going good. the food is out of this world the taste was amazing and the quantity was insane. None of my guests had any problems, I've got all great feedback about the venue from my guests. the venue is absolutely gorgeous and super clean. I highly highly recommend The Merion. I also have to say they did their best when I had to reschedule my wedding due to Covid-19.

When we first saw the Merion on the Knot, we knew we HAD to get married here. We cannot say enough about the Merion, from the minute we met Stephanie at the Philadelphia Bridal Show we felt like we were working with family. Stephanie and the Merion team were very accommodating, kind, and easy to work with the entire time. We had our reception in the Skylight Ballroom, it was the most incredible experience in our entire lives. The Merion is so unique, and I can guarantee you've never seen anything like it before. The food is INCREDIBLE, from cocktail hour, to dinner, and dessert. The cocktail hour is unlike any other, the amount of options is unreal. The staff made sure that my husband and I actually ate, and also boxed up our left over dinner, and dessert. That was a really nice touch, it was so nice to enjoy it the next day. I wish we could re-live this day. Thank you to Stephanie and the staff for giving us the best day ever. We know that everyone else who picks the Merion will have the same experience as we did.

This was a nice touch which really meant a lot to us. All our guests are still raving about how wonderful our wedding was. I was a little nervous that you might be able to hear other events happening in the other ballrooms, but that was not the case at all. It felt like our wedding was the only one going on that night. I am so glad we chose this venue. A HUGE thank you to Stephanie at the Merion for all the hard work she did making our wedding day the best day ever. She is great to work with. She made sure everything was spelled out and on time and convenient for us! We were truly amazed and blessed to have Jolene as our event specialist! We started out with Alyssa but after she left we were super lucky to have Jolene as head of our team! She is just one of the kindest people and was very easy to work with! All the staff at The Merion are great and our day of staff was just totally fabulous! Everyone was on top of everything and our guests were just blown away with the amount of food and drink and the taste! And of course the service! Our bridal attendant and head servers were so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted at all times. Matt and I used the Merion for our two weddings on October 4th and October 5th (Indian and American). The Indian wedding was at Skylight ballroom and the American ceremony and reception was was at North Garden and Palazzo ballroom, respectively. The place is absolutely stunning!!! The picture will come out beautiful at this venue. The entire staff is responsive, professional, and do everything above-and-beyong to make your wedding day perfect! Maitre D, captain, bridal attendant were great! They added rose parade and champagne tower as a surprise. I worked with Jolene Cross, the event specialist. She is excellent!!! I did not feel the need to hire a planner or a coordinator because Jolene was so friendly and helpful throughout the planning process - both Indian and American. On the days of the wedding, she made sure everything runs smoothly according to the plan and timeline. She even bustled my bridal gown. She treated me like her best friend! Last but not least, many thank you to the chef! The Merion fully catered both Indian and American wedding. The chef cooked up delicious indian entrances, vegetarian entrees, along with American entrees for both weddings and cocktail hour!!! My guests are still raving about vegetarian food at the Indian wedding. He even made Indian desserts for the wedding. A few guests asked for recipes. Indian Station at the cocktail hour was a big hit (chick peas with potato patties - three chutneys, curried vegetables and chili cauliflower). Paneer tikka masala entree tasted delicious!. The upvass potatoes (Fasting meal) was great! My wedding ended up with 7 main course entree options. The food was served hot even with such a large menu. The viennese hour display was out of the world! The Merion chef accommodated every request. I recommend people not to bring outside caterers for Indian food. The Merion chef will do an excellent job! WOW, what an amazing wedding venue! From the moment that Taylor and I walked in the door and saw how absolutely beautiful the Merion is, we knew we were going to get married there. We toured the venue in February of 2018 and ended up getting married in August 2019. Taylor and I actually changed our desired wedding date so that we could make the wedding happen at the Merion! From seeing the entrance way to the ballroom, everything is breath taking. Everything the day of went so smoothly and seamlessly. We were one of three weddings that day and we only ran into one other wedding once (because we went outside to take photos at nighttime). To this day, my guests are raving about the venue. I keeping hearing about how amazing the cocktail hour and dinner food was. As the bride and groom, we unfortunately didn't get to eat any and hope to attend a wedding at the Merion one day to experience it!I want to shout out some of the amazing people who work at the Merion - Nicole is seriously such a gem. I am so happy she was our day of coordinator. We ended up meeting her in February 2018 and from that moment on, Nicole became one of my biggest helpers through the wedding planning process. She helped me every step of the way and always responded to my texts/emails/calls. She honestly feels like a family friend to us. Samuel, who was our maitre d, who was incredible. Every time I turned around and needed something - he was there to ask me what he could do. Samuel truly wonderful! Adrianna who filled in for Nicole when she was with another client - also such a sweetheart! We loved working with her for the short time and were very excited to see her on our wedding day. Marian, who worked as our captain, was great. I saw her making sure all details were correct just prior to guests entering the ballroom. All in all, we are so beyond thrilled with our decision to get married at the Merion. We had the best time and made amazing memories there. We can't think of a more perfect place to have our most important day. We are hopeful to be \"guests\" there one day and experience the Merion magic!!

WOW, what an amazing wedding venue! From the moment that Taylor and I walked in the door and saw how absolutely beautiful the Merion is, we knew we were going to get married there. We toured the venue in February of 2018 and ended up getting married in August 2019. Taylor and I actually changed our desired wedding date so that we could make the wedding happen at the Merion! From seeing the entrance way to the ballroom, everything is breath taking. Everything the day of went so smoothly and seamlessly. We were one of three weddings that day and we only ran into one other wedding once (because we went outside to take photos at nighttime). To this day, my guests are raving about the venue. I keeping hearing about how amazing the cocktail hour and dinner food was. As the bride and groom, we unfortunately didn't get to eat any and hope to attend a wedding at the Merion one day to experience it!I want to shout out some of the amazing people who work at the Merion - Nicole is seriously such a gem. I am so happy she was our day of coordinator. We ended up meeting her in February 2018 and from that moment on, Nicole became one of my biggest helpers through the wedding planning process. She helped me every step of the way and always responded to my texts/emails/calls. She honestly feels like a family friend to us. Samuel, who was our maitre d, who was incredible. Every time I turned around and needed something - he was there to ask me what he could do. WOW!! I guess would be a good word to use ! From the first moment we stepped in the door on our visit to the last time we stepped in to experience our wedding was tremendous! Every employee was so helpful and sweet. The food was to rave for and our guest are still talking about the amount of food that was served ( wish I got more as a busy bride) but what I had was amazing ! Adrianna was our wedding coordinator and she was on point all the time, always quickly answering my silly messages and being there the day off to help settle my nerves. I would get married at the Merion over and over if I could! After reading bad reviews of places you get worried but man sometimes you can believe what you read. I am still in awe of my wedding day and how I was treated like a princess leaving her castle, everytime I left the room they would escort me out and make sure I didn't run into any other brides it was awesome ! I would love to attend a wedding to be able to sit back and enjoy all the amazing moments that we experienced a the Merion !!!

Where do I even begin. When my mom, sister and I initially went to the merion to see if I wanted to have my wedding there, it was basically a no brainer. The venue is gorgeous and when we met with Nicole who gave us a tour and showed us the menu of all the food I knew we had to have our wedding there. We had the palace ballroom which is an absolutely beautiful and classic looking room. Nicole was outstanding through the entire process. Our engagement was almost a year and a half long and she was wonderful in communicating with me - she would literally email me back same day or next day any time I emailed her about anything. She was also great in communicating with my other vendors. She is very organized and made everything so easy for me!!! She was also an amazing support when any stressors came up during planning. She helped to make our wedding day literally everything we wanted it to be. I talked to cliff and Dave a few times throughout the process as well and they were both nice as could be!! The food at our wedding was INSANE. All of our guests were raving about the huge variety of food choices and how amazing everything tasted!! Our guests raved about everything!!! While my husband and I didnât have much time to eat since we were talking to everyone, I did still get to enjoy some of my dinner which was delicious. The portions they give you are insane and they send you home with a ton as well (so at least now my husband and I will get to enjoy the delicious food at home!) Our bridal attendant (deb), Maitre Dâ (nick) and captain (dee) took care of my husband and I on the day of (helped to get us anything we needed) and were right there getting us anything we needed and making sure we were happy and taken care of the entire night. They were just amazing and my husband and I were blown away with how taken care of we felt. Thank you so much to Nicole and the rest of the team - we couldnât have asked for anything more and I would highly recommend having your wedding at the Merion - you will NOT regret it!!!!!!

I absolutely loved the service we received up until our wedding, the day before, and the day of, however it seemed like as soon as the reception was over the customer service style changed. Our rental items, glass chargers, seating chart, etc were not being handled with care, everything was thrown around, some items got lost, and broken while the staff was putting things away. This was extremely disappointing because we had such a great experience there and loved the food, our ceremony and reception. The coat room attended was also very very nasty to our guests, leaving them feeling uneasy when entering and leaving our wedding which we were disappointed and unhappy with. Customer service should remain top quality even after the event is over.

I honestly wish I could have given them 5 stars. My husband and I were kept blissfully ignorant on our wedding day because Jolene, Nick, Joanne and Deb E did a great job making sure we were happy and stress free. It was not until the next day that we realized what had all happened. Throughout our time working with those at The Merion, there was a serious lack of communication. Some couples might not mind, but for myself and others who are organized and want to make sure their wedding day is perfect, it is a BIG DEAL. 1. When my wedding coordinator was changed from Alyssa to Jolene, I was not aware until I personally called The Merion myself after a month of zero email responses. I remained calm even though it was very close to my wedding date and Jolene's professionalism reassured me.2. I proactively emailed Dave U a month before my wedding to determine when was a good time to start setting up for my wedding on November 17th. I received an email from him that same day that the room was free starting at 10 am. There was a last minute booking but no one informed us. Come wedding day, my vendor and family go to The Merion at 10 am to set up, only to find that they could not set up until 5 pm (2 hours before the wedding). It became pure chaos as they tried to find where to re-locate the materials and start putting things together (ended up being at multiple locations). This delayed my wedding ceremony because we had to wait until my family arrived (little did I know it was because they were rushing around trying to set up for my reception). This all could have been simply avoided if someone from The Merion could have emailed/called us the night before the wedding date.3. Once I spoke to Cliff and Vinny at The Merion about this incident, I was told that they would find a resolution and respond back ASAP. Two months went by with no responses from them, even after I reached out to The Merion multiple times. It was a lack of common courtesy.If numbers 1, 2 & 3 could have been avoided, I would have given The Merion 5 stars. Their cocktail hour was amazing and open bar was a huge hit. Once again, Jolene, Nick, Joanne and Deb E were wonderful to work with. This is an honest review from a somewhat disappointed bride. I just hope that this never occurs to anyone else and that The Merion can improve on their lack of communication.

We had our reception at the Merion a few months ago. The venue is beautiful & for the price you get a lot but I HATED my wedding experience because of my event specialist, Stephanie. She was very nice the 1st time we met but after we booked & paid our deposit she didnât reach out about anything. Whenever I reached out to her she was cold & short, not the least bit friendly so much so that I rarely reached out to her, I felt uncomfortable like I was bothering her. I debated if we annoyed her or rubbed her the wrong way but really couldnât think of anything, we BARELY interacted with her, didnât ask for anything special or have crazy requests or any requests really. Meetings to figure out our menu/linens/lighting were cancelled or pushed back. We live an hour away & before leaving our house we got a phone call from her asking to push the meeting almost 2 hours, we obliged but arrived 20 minutes early, we didnât have anything else to do, we took the day off to make this meeting work. When we arrived we realized she pushed our meeting to show the venue to a new client, this was likely the reason for most of our cancelled & postponed meetings but that still didnât bother us. What really bothered me was that she only told us about the cake vendors a month before the wedding, had she not cancelled appointments we would have been told about the 3 different bakeries earlier, at the very least she could have emailed us, this gave us no time to figure out our options & what worked for us best. We used the bakery that was closest just so we can fit in the tasting, adding more stress to an already hectic time. The bakery told us that we should have had our meeting at least 3-4 months ago. There was no delay on our part but we ended up paying the bakery a rushed design fee (sucked it up & didnât say anything), I was willing to suck up a lot of things to have our day go smoothly, the last thing I want is to get on the bad side of someone who is running the show. The day of our wedding we pulled up to the venue, we're greeted by Stephanie & she couldnât even crack a smile, she did have champagne & a cold âcongratulationsâ, from the start she was unfriendly, it felt like our wedding day was an inconvenience to her & she was annoyed. She ushered us into the ballroom for pics. After that we barely saw her. The rest of the staff was lovely! But her presence whenever it was around felt like a dark cloud. I debated writing a review & decided not to. I was going to let it go, it was done & over with, my guests didn't know what was going on, to them I had a fairy tale wedding, then the holidays came around. It was the 1st time I saw a lot of my guests. I was showered with compliments but almost every person had a comment about Stephanie. Apparently she was rude to many of my guests. When I heard the 1st or 2nd complaint I thought maybe my guest was being annoying but that couldnât have been the case for the many stories I heard. We had over 200 guests, I canât imagine that they all did something. Itâs possible my husband & I early on rubbed her the wrong way & she decided to project that throughout the planning process but itâs unacceptable to lash out in anyway towards my guests. I would like to think that maybe Stephanie didnât realize how she was treating us & that it really had nothing to do with us specifically but that doesnât change that when I think of my wedding at The Merion it isnât thought of as the wonderful day I had dreamed of.

They give you tons of food and desserts, and everything is absolutely delicious! They even gave my husband and I a bunch of dinners to take home for left overs. Jerry and I got married this past weekend (12/15/18) at the Merion. We worked with Jolene during the process - and she was phenomenal! She as informative, easy to work with, and made an overwhelming process seem easy. On the actual day she was right there to welcome us and set us up for our beautiful evening. Michael (Matre D) and Maria (Bridal Attendant) were wonderful as well. They were right there - support us all night long. The venue was BEAUTIFUL. The main lobby was decorated for Christmas and it was stunning. Our wedding was in the Skylight ballroom - and the new renovations really changed the ambiance of the room (very modern and elegant!)I cannot begin to describe the food! The cocktail hour was fantastic!!!! 7 different food stations plus passed horâdourves. Followed by a three course dinner, and grand dessert hour. If your friends and family like to eat well - The Merion is the place for you.Jerry and I are still getting notes/compliments on what a great wedding/delicious food the Merion Offered.Thank you for hosting the best night of our lives!!!!

I can't say enough about how much we loved working with The Merion.As a gay couple we wanted a venue who wouldn't treat us any differently. From our first visit, we felt at home and welcomed. Nicole and Stephanie worked with us throughout this process and were both perfect. They paid attention to every detail, established great communication and tailored our wedding to suit our every need (no matter how out of the box our requests were).Our guests RAVED about the food and loved how beautiful the venue itself was. We got married at The Merion on 11/23/2018. We worked with Alyssa and Stephanie. Throughout the planning process, both Alyssa and Stephanie were great. They answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable. I was a bit nervous leaving tons and tons of extra reception items around a week before our wedding, but the staff at The Merion made the room look more gorgeous than we could have imagined. Stephanie (who is pregnant) actually got on the floor and helped bustle my dress. The Maitre D Mike was so nice and attentive, and made sure we were taken care of all night. I haven't even gotten to the best part. The food. The food at The Merion is honestly joke-worthy. The amount (and more importantly quality) of food and drinks they put out just at cocktail hour alone will leave your guests ready to box their dinners. We had a guest wondering how they cooked every single person's filet absolutely perfect to temperature. Not to mention the completely STOCKED dessert room. Our guests cannot stop talking about how fabulous our wedding was.

We got married at The Merion on 11/23/2018. We worked with Alyssa and Stephanie. Throughout the planning process, both Alyssa and Stephanie were great. They answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable. I was a bit nervous leaving tons and tons of extra reception items around a week before our wedding, but the staff at The Merion made the room look more gorgeous than we could have imagined. Stephanie (who is pregnant) actually got on the floor and helped bustle my dress. The Maitre D Mike was so nice and attentive, and made sure we were taken care of all night. I haven't even gotten to the best part. The food. The food at The Merion is honestly joke-worthy. The amount (and more importantly quality) of food and drinks they put out just at cocktail hour alone will leave your guests ready to box their dinners. We had a guest wondering how they cooked every single person's filet absolutely perfect to temperature. Not to mention the completely STOCKED dessert room. Our guests cannot stop talking about how fabulous our wedding was.

March 17, 2018 Wedding: The Merion staff made all of our wedding dreams come true! From the moment we stepped through their doors we felt like the King and Queen. Not only did they make us feel like this, our families and guests were also treated like royalty! People are still raving about our food and how great everything was. There were plenty of glamours opportunities for photos and our pictures came out stunning! Sue was our consultant and she felt like family from the first time we met. Her excitement for our wedding was so genuine and we were so grateful to have her with us that day. WE LOVE SUE!!! We also have to mention Cliff, who put some special finishing touches on our wedding and made the evening extra special. He made sure the event was perfect and made sure the Bride was satisfied! Every one of our guests are still talking about how nice the service, food, and energy was at our wedding.

I worked with ALYSSA Dettorre, and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure we had the most perfect day possible! From the moment I walked inside to tour the venue I got chills and goosebumps all over: I just KNEW it was special, but I was so afraid it would be too expensive. Then we sat down with Alyssa to go over the menu and pricing, and I was blown away by how affordable it is compared to similar venues, however we still did our due diligence in comparing venues: The Merion won out in every aspect each time! It is simply THE BEST event venue in all of South Jersey and Philadelphia area! They are beyond willing to accommodate your every need and desire, and they really care about making your biggests dreams a reality! They offer SO MUCH! Their cocktail hour menu is INCREDIBLE, their sit down dinner is equally incredible, all of the surprises they include for the bride and groom the day of the wedding...the list just goes on and on and on! I could shout from the mountain tops for the rest of my life how awesome this wedding venue is, and it still wouldn't be enough!!! Do yourself a favor and check this place out, because I promise you won't regret it. They are not just another wedding venue: they are in the business of making peoples DREAMS come TRUE, and they excel at it. The Merion was absolutely everything we could have hoped for on our wedding day. We were married in the North Garden, which is on the property. The setting is breathtaking, so minimal decorations were required. We then had our reception in the Skylight Ballroom, which is like a scene from a fairy tale. The people who work with you are great. Our point of contact, Stephanie, was there for me with every question or concern I may have had. The day of the wedding went so smoothly, like a well-oiled machine. The staff knows exactly what needs to happen in order for you to have an incredible day. If this is a venue you're considering, I would HIGHLY recommend meeting with someone from The Merion to talk details. It was an incredible day and I am so glad we decided to book with them!

We had our wedding reception here on June 22, 2018 in the Palace Ballroom. From the moment we toured the venue two years prior we fell in love. Alyssa was our event specialist and helped us during the planning. She worked with us on dates, pricing, etc. When we arrived after our offsite ceremony we were greeted by Alyssa and champagne!!! She stayed with us throughout our pictures before the reception started. She made sure we got the pictures we wanted and even helped assist the photographer. They set up our room beautifully and exactly how was asked. All of the food was delicious and there was lots of it. We choose the buffet. Our guests raved about the food. Great service as well! I couldn't have asked for anything more. The Merion is first class in regards to service and quality.

If I could give less than 1 star i would. It was the worst experience of my life. There was another wedding and because this wedding spent more money we got treated like a no one. I was suppose to have Alyssa as my event specialist. I didnât see her until the ceremony and things that were promised to me they never came through. I was told my alter pieces would be on pillars, they were just put on the floor. My florist came with the bouts and bouquets. Well no one had their bouts because Alyssa said that the florist never checked in. Well I had my bouquet and my maid of honor had hers so they took my bouts and alter pieces to my room and forgot about them. All my pictures were taken without the bouts. They rushed my photographer because they said the other wedding was after mine and they couldnât be late for that one . My centerpieces were just thrown on the table and not consulted with me so the way they were arranged was wrong. I cried for most of my wedding because these people took my money and nothing went right. I rented a shuttle bus to take my wedding party across the street for pictures. They sent the other wedding party on my shuttle bus across the street for pictures so we had to wait for my bus to get back to take pictures. We were promised a take home plate for me and the groom, we did not receive what was promised. My husband could not read his vows to me due to being rushed. The only positive about this place was actually marrying my best friend. Another positive was the food was actually great. But they make a lot of empty promises in order to get your money. Alyssa was suppose to be the person in charge but she did absolutely nothing and the wedding was not organized and rushed. Another person there named Jolene was way more helpful and stayed the whole night to ensure she picked up the pieces that Alyssa left. If you donât spend more than 50 grand at your wedding then stay away from this place.

THANK YOU to The Merion for helping us have the best, most amazing wedding of our dreams! Our wedding was 5/12/18, and honestly âthank youâ doesnât seem like enough! It was truly the best experience from start to finish! Our first event specialist had left to pursue other opportunities during our longer engagement period, but Nicole swooped in and never missed a beat! She made every step easy, and was always such a joy to meet with! So responsive, all the time! I overthink everything, so I emailed her a TON during the whole process, but she ALWAYS responded happily and was there to make changes or answer questions or made herself available for me to swing by in person! Our Maitre Dâ was Nick â and he was the best!! Anything and everything that we needed the day-of was handled immediately, happily, and professionally! He was always checking in, keeping us informed of our timing, asking what we wanted or needed â he even grabbed me a waffle & ice cream during dessert so I didnât miss out on that! :) My husband and I had a small forgetful moment as the ceremony was about to start, but Nicole and Nick got everything organized and on track and nobody even noticed! Nicole, management, and the rest of the crew were also extremely helpful as we made a very last minute switch from outdoor to indoor ceremony, coordinating with our vendors and making sure the indoor ceremony space was so stunning for us! Our guests have not stopped texting and telling us how amazing the food was â and how much food there was!! â and that theyâve never seen anything like that cocktail hour! And that they were so full, but the entrees were so good they HAD to eat those, as well! Theyâve also continued to comment on how gorgeous the venue is and how pleasant and helpful everyone on staff was that entire day!Again, thank you so very much to everyone at The Merion, especially Nicole and Nick, for making our wedding the most perfect day we could have ever imagined!!

We highly recommend this wedding venue. We had heard amazing things about the Merion prior to choosing it, and now having experienced their service, we understand why. We got married in the Palace Ballroom in October and loved everything about it. There are three other weddings going on during ours, but the coordinators are so experienced and have the planning down to the minute to ensure you feel like you're the only event there. They communicated with each other throughout the night so that we could get the photos we wanted throughout the venue. Sue, our coordinator, was helpful from start to finish. She was timely and organized, answered all of our questions, and facilitated the day with our other vendors to ensure a smooth night. Our staff team made sure that our family and guests were well taken care of, as well as that our drinks were always full. The food was amazing, as guests are still talking about the weight they gained during our cocktail hour alone ;) . As most brides know, I didn't eat much the night of, but the Merion staff sent me home with an abundance of food that I could eat later that night and the next day. They had many special \"surprises\" throughout the night to keep it exciting, and made us feel special throughout the whole process. We highly recommend this wedding venue. We had heard amazing things about the Merion prior to choosing it, and now having experienced their service, we understand why. We got married in the Palace Ballroom in October and loved everything about it. There are three other weddings going on during ours, but the coordinators are so experienced and have the planning down to the minute to ensure you feel like you're the only event there. They communicated with each other throughout the night so that we could get the photos we wanted throughout the venue. Sue, our coordinator, was helpful from start to finish. She was timely and organized, answered all of our questions, and facilitated the day with our other vendors to ensure a smooth night. Our staff team made sure that our family and guests were well taken care of, as well as that our drinks were always full. The food was amazing, as guests are still talking about the weight they gained during our cocktail hour alone ;) . Like what I tell friends and family members, good word travels fast and this is one of them. Our experience was remarkably extraordinary! Sue who was our coordinator was always so open and supportive of our decisions for the reception. Sue would give recommendations and suggestions that we probably would have missed. On the day of our wedding on October 6, 2017 our team consisted of Don as our maitre dâ, JoAnne as our captain & Debbie as our head server. Each one of them made sure that my husband and I were well taken care of. The guests most especially were surprised by the amount of food during cocktail hours and the quality - superb! Everyone will absolutely enjoy their main entree meals. For those couple who are looking to book a venue, don't hesitate to do it at The Merion!

This venue has it all, beautiful venue, delicious and abundant amount of food, and very helpful staff to keep the day going smoothly. They even coordinate with the vendors beforehand so a lot of the work is done for you leading up to the final day. The one thing we were disappointed about is that they no longer do food tasting but we heard enough about the delicious food that we didn't have to worry about how everything tasted. We were just looking forward to getting a little preview of the food especially since you don't get to do much food sampling on the wedding night due to visiting with all of the guests etc. Overall, I would highly recommend this venue for a couple looking for a more traditional ballroom style reception.

The place is beautiful however most of the managing staff were rude, abrasive and dismissive after we signed our contract with them. During the tour and while signing the contract the sales lady was kind and had promised services that they did not provide afterward. My husband and I recently had our Wedding Reception at the Merion in the Palace Ballroom. Stephanie was our coordinator and she's just fabulous! She helped us make decisions throughout the whole process and explained every detail all while being easy to work with and always getting the job done. We couldn't be happier with the service that Steph and the Merion provided. Our guests raved about the food and how elegant and classy the ambiance was. The food at the Merion is high quality and delicious, from cocktail hour, to the formal dinner into cake and desserts and all the way through to the pork sandwiches given to our guests as they left our wedding. The shrimp cocktail at the seafood station was HUGE and cooked perfectly and the crab cakes were full of flavor! Exactly what you expect when seafood is served at an event (so worth it!). They gave my husband and me our entrée dishes which included each of the 3 entrees. What a classy touch, we were thrilled, the filet mignon was tender and went perfect with the mashed potatoes, the branzino was delicate and melted right in your mouth and the chicken forestshire was amazing. In my opinion, the Merion is the place to have an event; their food is always top-notch, their liquor is top shelf (and they actually put the right amount of liquor in your drink), the service is wonderful and the ambiance is truly elegant and classy. Our family has had 3 big events at the Merion, my sister and brother-in-law were married in the Palazzo Ballroom in 2010, my bridal shower was in the Skylight Ballroom and my wedding in the Palace Ballroom. Needless to say, our family cannot wait to plan another event at the Merion one day.

They really know how to wow you on your first visit, but I can attest that the service and end result were just as thoughtful and fabulous.Sue is the greatest! My husband and I live in Oregon, so you can imagine it might have been tough to plan a wedding cross-country. Not with Sue! Sue was gracious in responding quickly and thoughtfully to my many questions. She cared about how our day went and was genuinely happy for us. Towards the end of our planning, I slowed down on asking questions - I felt confident Sue and the Merion staff would have everything under control, and they certainly did! In addition to Sue, we had WONDERFUL experiences working with Rich (banquet manager), Samuel (maitre'd), Debbie (head server), Diane and Kim (pastry chefs), and Cliff (manager).As for the wedding night, the space and evening turned out to be absolutely stunning, and we could not have been happier with the end result. Guests were wowed by the beauty of the space, and the Palace Ballroom was the perfect size for our group. One small thing we noticed the night of was that the chandelier shook slightly from activity in the upstairs ballroom. Our friends who did notice were excited - they said we \"were all dancing so hard, we shook the chandelier.\" :) All of the food was delicious and abundant! Debbie brought us one of each entree on our plates - it was a really thoughtful touch. The following morning, we found the staff had boxed up our forgotten leftovers as well as a tray of dessert!All in all, we had a terrific experience with The Merion, would use them again, and highly recommend them.

We selected The Merion over other venues (Lowes, Rittenhouse & others) for my daughter's \"40th\" birthday party. The most impressive detail to me was the attention I experienced from the event manager. Alyssa documented our every thought, opinion and question about how we wanted the event to go. Our ideas on decorating the room, setup, color scheme, menu and our changes after some things were already agreed upon were impressive. Two weeks before the event I hired a band and then notified the Merion. \"No Problem\" seems to be their mantra and they meant it. The night of the event had us making a few adjustments to the layout \"we\" requested. Dave and Alyssa calmly said \"we will take care of it\" and they did. The food was outrageous, the deserts unbelievable and the birthday cake outstanding. The staff was very helpful and courteous, cleanup during the cocktail hour did not lag and the little things that occur were handled without issue.Thank you Alyssa and Dave for a job well done.Jim C.

Our ideas on decorating the room, setup, color scheme, menu and our changes after some things were already agreed upon were impressive. Two weeks before the event I hired a band and then notified the Merion. \"No Problem\" seems to be their mantra and they meant it. The night of the event had us making a few adjustments to the layout \"we\" requested. Dave and Alyssa calmly said \"we will take care of it\" and they did. The food was outrageous, the deserts unbelievable and the birthday cake outstanding. The staff was very helpful and courteous, cleanup during the cocktail hour did not lag and the little things that occur were handled without issue.Thank you Alyssa and Dave for a job well done.Jim C.
