We had an amazing wedding experience at The Mountain Terrace!! Our coordinator Kristy as well as other staff were very responsive to our communications from the start of the planning process. Not only is The Mountain Terrace a BEAUTIFUL venue, the staff here is amazing! As soon as I walked through the gate, I knew I had found my venue (I could not stop thinking about it!!) The staff is super organized (which I truly appreciated) and were so accommodating to all of our requests / questions! I mainly worked with Caren and she was super helpful and always there for us throughout the wedding planning process. We also booked the wedding coordination service and am very glad we did as the wedding day went smoothly! The food here is also great!! Our guests raved about the clam chowder shooters and the crab cakes. We had salmon and the tri tip as our dinner options and both were a hit. We are so grateful for the venue's incredible staff and for their dedication to making our special day truly magical. We highly recommend The Mountain Terrace to any couple looking for a wedding venue that is both beautiful and unforgettable. Reviewed on 20-11-2023

We cannot recommend Mountain Terrace enough! We had the wedding of our dreams. Their experience with events was crucial especially given we had 210 guests. Our friends and family gave rave reviews from the professionalism of the staff, delicious food, beautiful venue, and how seamlessly the night went from the ceremony to dinner to reception. We were married in October - the weather was perfect. We were able to let our guests know to bring a jacket since it got cold once the sun went down. Everyone was very comfortable under the tent with heaters and in the reception area. They loved being able to spend time at the firepit throughout the night. We also had the pleasure of working with Kristy, one of their wedding coordinators. She was truly phenomenal! Reviewed on 09-11-2023

We had such a gorgeous wedding! It was a very intimate group-- only immediate family. Even though the venue can cater for very large groups, we felt like it was still perfect for our 11 person wedding! The venue setting is truly spectacular. The redwoods hold a lot of significance for us, so being surrounded by them was our dream. The on-site staff were all so profession and did a great job. The day went by seamlessly! We really enjoyed having a little plate of snacks made for us so we could escape and have a few private minutes together. Our banquet-manager was so amazing. She was able to keep everything moving and made the day really easy for all of us. Highly recommend to anyone! Reviewed on 11-10-2023

We got married at the Mountain Terrace in August, and we had an amazing time. The venue is gorgeous with redwoods surrounding views of the bay. The food was delicious and our guests raved about it. Best of all, the staff did a phenomenal job in helping the day run smoothly. They were professional and demonstrated outstanding hospitality. Caren was our point of contact who helped us during the planning process. It was very easy communicating with her and she was always quick to respond. One annoying thing is that there is a no amplified music allowed outdoors due to city or county regulations. We had to hire live musicians for the ceremony and cocktail hour, which turned out very nice, but for those that might not have the budget, this is something to consider. It also made it harder to decide when to do the grand entrance and first dance, since we needed to those indoors but dinner would be outdoors. We ended up moving everyone indoors after cocktail hour for the grand entrance and first dance, and then back outdoors for dinner after. It can also get pretty chilly at night, even in the middle of summer. We opted not to get the heaters, and we regret that decision a little bit.Overall we had a great experience with the Mountain Terrace and would highly recommend them. Reviewed on 18-09-2023

We could not have been happier with our Mountain Terrace experience!! They were amazing from start to finish!! Obviously it's a bit expensive, but they were very upfront and honest about their pricing from the start (no hidden fees or surprises later on), and the quality of everything exceeded expectations. Caren was an amazing contact throughout the planning experience - I probably sent her 50+ emails with random questions as I thought of them, and she always responded so promptly with plenty of information. We had our wedding at the Mountain Terrace and it was nothing short of a dream experience, from our first visit through the last minute of our wedding day. The site is beautiful, of course, but beyond that, the team at the Mountain Terrace is a well-oiled machine. The planners were such a pleasure to work with, bringing professionalism, experience, and a sense of confidence that always eased our anxious pre-wedding stresses. The chef and his team are next-level, exceeding our expectations of how good the food at a wedding can be. How they delivered that quality for 100 people is beyond me, but my wife and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. I wish we could get married there fifty more times. What a dream. We got married in this absolutely stunning venue in July. We were initially attracted to this venue due to its location - somewhat convenient for the bay area, located along the Skyline so the weather stays cool in the summer, and surrounded by the redwood and sequoia trees that are meaningful to us. After having visited and talking with the staff and owners, it became apparent that they have strong communication skills and provide excellent customer service. Having their own in-house catering proved to be very convenient and we were completely satisfied with the quality of their food in the end. We worked with Anastasia as our coordinator and she was truly fantastic in both helping us prepare for the event and making sure everything ran smoothly the day of. The Mountain Terrace was attentive to our requests and worked with us on our customization needs. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly that helped to put the guests at ease. I have so much appreciation for their clear communication, transparent pricing, excellent vendor relationships, and customer-forward business model. It was a tough call for us to make at the time in choosing the right venue, but in hindsight, we absolutely made the correct choice. I can't endorse the Mountain Terrace enough and I would highly recommend you visit and talk with them to see if they will also be the right venue for you. Reviewed on 11-08-2023

INBAL SARIG(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-03-2023 We celebrated our wedding in March at the Mountain Terrace, with Anastasia as our Day-Of Coordinator. The venue is absolutely beautiful with its sprawling grassy field and tall redwoods on the grounds, cozy cabin-like interior, and large two-tiered deck with clear plastic coverings. The food and drink options provided by the venue were delicious: we chose the duck, salmon, and hen of the woods entrees. The day of our wedding was unfortunately cold, windy, and rainy, and we had very much hoped to have an outdoor wedding on the grounds. The staff at the venue had all the seating set up outside, and they were very calm and flexible, giving us until literally 20 minutes before the ceremony started to audible to an indoor ceremony as our musicians could not play in the wet conditions. They quickly re-organized all the chairs on the deck, and we proceeded with a cozy indoor ceremony. Anastasia, our coordinator, was so incredibly helpful, organized, and supportive through the entire process. She responded very quickly to all our emails throughout the planning process, keeping us on track with the timeline, reminding us of anything we had missed, and being warm and flexible with any changes we wanted to make. They changed my day of coordinator at the last moment and didn't even bother informing me until I got to the venue an hour before my wedding. My family had to run around managing the event and coordinating every little detail while the substitute coordinator was clueless and missed out on our requirements they gathered from me over the planning phase through multitude of ridiculous forms. The staff there started clearing out the chairs from the ceremony site while the ceremony was still in progress. And this is just one of the many many things that went wrong. The worst part is that they don't even have the minimum decency to send me a formal apology. I was hoping to let a few days pass before my emotions get the better of me. There is no outdoor amplified music allowed (as other reviewers have stated) and we hired harpist Krista Strader who was wonderful. We had about 60 guests but I can imagine it would be a bit more difficult trying to coordinate transportation for a large group just due to the nature of the location of the mountain terrace. Also, there is not a large space for getting ready in for the wedding party. The team there and the day-of-coordinator made it easy to plan our special day. They were very responsive and accommodative. They also provided recommendations for vendors and that made it super easy because they've worked with these vendors and the vendors are familiar with the area and the rules of the trade. I highly recommend booking the Terrace Suite for the night before and the night of as well as it provides a place for the bridal party to get ready and a place to retreat to after the reception. Amanda Mullins(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-04-2022 We loved this venue. It was beautiful, surrounded by Redwoods, a great layout of for ceremony to reception, and the BEST food. Some things to note about the venue:There is no amplified music outside, which means if you want music during the ceremony and cocktail hour, you need to hire string musicians. There is not really a spot for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready the day of (the get ready room is not designed for the girls to get their hair and makeup done at the venue), so you will almost assuredly need to rent the house next to the venue for 2 nights to make sure the bridal party has a place to get ready the day of. There are lots of little charges that add up. That may be standard for the industry and venues in general, we just were not aware of that when we selected the venue, so it ended up being more expensive than we had initially thought. Uber/Lyft does not reliably pick up from there, so you will likely need to order transportation for your guests, if you want them to be able to drink without driving. Again, we really liked the venue, and we felt that we had a magical wedding day. There were just a few things we were not expecting and they caught us off guard. Reviewed on 26-05-2022

We had a lot of positive comments on the food (we were too emotional to really enjoy the food) but we got multiple comments about how good the appetizers and entrees were. We were slightly disappointed by their lack of vegetarian fare that didn't highlight mushrooms. They also listed some items as vegetarian that were not actually (i.e. sardines in Caesar salad dressing). They do charge for extras that we anticipated would be already included in the total cost (i.e dance floor, heated lamps, cheese cutting, s'mores, flower clean-up, etc) so I recommend asking ahead about these. They were very responsive, after our initial inquiry, they set up a zoom meeting and reviewed a lot of the basics - I found this very helpful as the entire wedding planning process can feel daunting. She was ready to talk specifics, asking about wedding date thoughts and average guest count, it helped us get the ball rolling on the details needed to plan a wedding. After the zoom we set up a tour, they provide a lot of information, which helped us compare cost and ultimately choose our venue. She helped us design the order of our reception, and allowed us not to have alcohol, even though it is usually a requirement to have a cash bar at least.\r\rAside from just the great service, the location is perfect. Look at pictures, I cannot even begin to describe it. Thank you Mountain Terrace!! Reviewed on 23-01-2013
Jen Sherman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-11-2012 My husband and I got married in November 2012. We are from out of town and found this venue online. When we first walked in, it took our breath away and we knew immediately that this was the place! Because it was planned from a distance, there was a lot of emailing back and forth between us and Caren (coordinator). She was supremely helpful in answering all of them and really kept us on track. When we visited the venue in March for a tasting, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The chef, Kacie, was very willing to accommodate a few of our vegan guests and they really enjoyed their meals. Other staff members also offered creative and fun ways to spice up our wedding - like renting a fire pit and roasting s'mores during the reception! Our wedding day went off without a hitch. We hired Caren to be our day-off coordinator and I am so glad that we did! She took care of everything and not once did I worry about something going wrong. It took such a weight off of our shoulders to have her there. Beautiful location, amazing staff and a perfect wedding day! Reviewed on 09-01-2013
Brian Schardt(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-07-2012 This was the only wedding venue that my wife said that she liked, and we saw a lot of different venues. It is very majestic, and a great place for a mountain wedding without going to Tahoe. There is some nickle-and-diming, but if you ask lots of questions upfront about costs before you sign, there shouldn't be any surprises. Reviewed on 27-12-2012
Kristin Doran(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-08-2012 The mountain terrace was an amazing venue. The view is beautiful and the staff was very n They are pretty flexible and a lot less expensive compared to other venues in the area. The only restriction that was bothersome to us was no amplified music outdoors due to noise regulations in woodside. Ceremony music must be acoustic and toasts during dinner may not be accompanied with a microphone. We chose to use an outside caterer and pay a fee since our caterer through a friend was not on there preferred list. The \"brides room\" at the venue is quite small so we chose to get ready elsewhere. All in all t was a wonderful outdoor/indoor venue and we had a wonderful time there. Reviewed on 16-10-2012
Lauren Morgan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2012 I picked this venue because I wanted a ceremony and reception site together. I wanted something outdoors and beautiful, and this fit all that. Everything looked wonderful inside and out, during the day and the evening. \r\rThe wedding coordinator and head bartender were my go to ladies and were wonderful to work with. Many of my guests commented that this was the most beautiful and perfect venue they have been to. \r\rWhile the ride up to the site is spectacular, through the trees and winding roads, it is a LONG one, but was very enjoyable. Most of my guests were coming from the midwest so I think they really enjoyed it. There are also only a couple ways to get there and since there ended up being an accident on the highway, I got very lucky that the guests using the shuttle weren't too late.\r\rThe county/city has an ordinance that no amplification can be used outside so this means live musicians for the ceremony (which is more beautiful anyway) and practice projecting voices for any outside toasts.\r\rAlso, wear the shoes you will be wearing at the wedding to the rehearsal!! The grass gets watered frequently and standing for over 20 minutes with heals poking through grass is not fun. But, if they didn't water frequently, the venue wouldn't be as beautiful.\r\rAll in all, it was wonderful. They have their own caterers and tables, chairs, linens, you can rent the dance floor, heat lamps, etc. from them. (After the ceremony, dinner, alcohol, and everything else, money adds up. But it was extremely convenient to use ONE vendor for everything) Reviewed on 02-10-2012
Mike Brown(groom)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-08-2012 My wife and I chose the Mountain Terrace for our wedding and reception venue because of the amazing lawn behind the building. It's huge! Adirondack chairs, tall trees, lush grass, and a two-level wood deck make the area irresistible. Denise and Caren are a joy to work with. Both are incredibly responsive and pay great attention to detail. We went with in-house catering and thought the food was great: rosemary chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, and jade rice. Passed appetizers were delicious as well. Absolutely love the bar inside. Service throughout the evening was prompt and pleasant. Be sure to warn your guests of the long and windy road up to the venue. Reviewed on 14-09-2012
Allyson Lucchese(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-05-2012 We searched for months to find a venue that was within our budget for our 80 guest May 2012 wedding in Northern California. We stumbled across the Mountain Terrace on The Knot and decided to contact them for information, and were surprised that they were within our very tight budget (venue rental, ceremony, food, drinks, linens, heat lamps and service are all included in my cost listed). We were planning the wedding from Texas, and the date that we wanted was likely to be booked early, so we put down a deposit before ever seeing the place. When we were finally able to fly out to see it, we were so relieved that it was as beautiful as advertised. The location is a little out of the way with a long windy road to get there, but the scenery is gorgeous, the in house catering is DELICIOUS, the bar was very well stocked, and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. Caren was super helpful during the planning, she answered my endless questions and good naturedly endured all of the changes that we made. Bridget was there the day of the rehearsal and the wedding and gave us really good tips about how to run things, and also smoothed things over when the groom's parents were delayed on their way to the ceremony! All in all we were very satisfied with our experience for our wedding day. Reviewed on 06-07-2012
Breanna Tipper(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-03-2012 I got married here on 3/31. \r\rThe venue itself is GORGEOUS. I was completely sold when I walked in the door. The trees, the meadow, the decks and the interior have a captivating rustic charm. My pictures have turned out beautiful, and all guests that I have talked to were blown away by the natural beauty of this place. \r\rIt is a little cramped if you have 110+ guests eating in the dining room. However, none of my guests complained about space, and I did have enough room to make the rounds to each table. 5 stars for the venue itself. The Mountain Terrace might just be the perfect if you are looking to have the venue and catering all handled in one spot. \r\rThe management of the Mountain Terrace leaves a lot to be desired. Charisse was great during our tour of the property, and Denise was fabulous on the day of. They were both very helpful and made sure that all questions and requests were handled. Denise and her staff even assisted my caterer in setting and resetting the ceremony, as it was raining on and off that day, and I had my heart set on an outdoor ceremony. Unfortunately, they were not my direct contacts for most of the planning process. \r\rWorking with Caren proved to be challenging at the best of times, and frustrating at the worst. The positives first: Caren was very responsive with emails, and she was willing to meet with me a few times up at the property. However, if you are looking to use a caterer not on their approved list, I would suggest you proceed with caution. I was very dedicated to using a caterer close to my family, so I paid the outside catering surcharge and didn't look back. Every request I had was met with resistance, even though most were not out of the ordinary. \r\rThe worst transgression, however, took place the day after the wedding. Unbeknownst to us, our caterer had put a decal on the dance floor. I am unsure of the details of the clean-up on the night of the wedding, but my caterer reports that he was ushered out before he was able to pull it up. My bridesmaids went to retrieve some of the flower arrangements that were left behind, and they were told that the decal had damaged the dance floor and that my husband and I were held liable for the charges. That is understandable, as their contract was with us, and their only recourse was through us. What I find inexcusable, however, is that THEY called us on our honeymoon before trying to reach out to our caterer. They had a wedding the following evening, and they told me that we would also be held liable for the resulting discount to that couple, since our names were emblazoned on the floor. \r\rA few frantic phone calls and many hours later, I got a hold of Caren the following morning. It tuns out they HADN'T MOPPED THE FLOOR before calling us to let us know about the \"damage\". As I said before, it had been pouring on the day of my wedding, so dirt and mud had been tracked across the dance floor. I can't believe that mopping was not part of the setup process for the next wedding. 0 Stars for that experience, and for the management needlessly ruining the first part of my honeymoon with unnecessary stress, which results in 2.5 stars, rounded down. \r Reviewed on 20-05-2012
Ana Laborde(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2011 Although you might think there is no such thing, The Mountain Terrace is just about as perfect as it gets when it comes to wedding venues. Darcie Kiyan(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-09-2010 We wanted an outdoor wedding and after viewing a few other venues, we selected Mountain Terrace because of its beauty and the rental price was very reasonable compared with some other places we considered. The staff was very easy to work with & very patient when we were super indecisive about our beverage options. \r\rThere were a few challenges we didn't really consider to carefully when booking which we wish we'd thought about more prior. Mountain Terrace requires you go through them for beverages. Luckily our wedding was on a Sunday so we weren't required to buy a beverage package and could opt to pay based on consumption. They require also that you use their in-house catering or select from about 3 other options. If you want something different they charge an additional $1000. Also, the venue is located up a curvy narrow road so getting shuttles ($1500 for 2 shuttles to accommodate 60 guests at a time) was almost a necessity to avoid worrying about people driving down a steep hill drunk. These are relatively minor things, but they ended up stressing us out a bit during the planning process.\r\rThat said, we had a beautiful wedding and I wouldn't have wanted us to get married anywhere else. Our guests loved the location & even had a great time on the shuttles. Reviewed on 06-10-2010
