The North House, a 250 year old Connecticut gem which has always been a cherished social landmark, is also one of the state’s most sought after event venues. The Belle Ballroom immediately impresses its guests from the columned porte-cochere, to the grand foyer with sweeping staircase and crystal chandelier. Modern, elegant style is present throughout. The beautiful brick terrace with custom pergola provides a stunning backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. Radiantly painted walls, crisp white linens, gleaming silver chiavari chairs, dazzling silver place settings and sparkling stemware heighten the superb five star dining experience in the Belle Ballroom. This venue is owned by the Chabot family who own Farmington Gardens. This was formerly Belle Terrace and Avon Old Farms Inn.

We got married at the north house recently and it was the most perfect day ever! The food was amazing, drinks great, and everything was so organized. Tracy was amazing at answering any questions, and really put our vision to life on the day of our wedding! We are still getting rave reviews from our guests on the food, definitely recommend this venue for your wedding or any other event!

Tracy was amazing at answering any questions, and really put our vision to life on the day of our wedding! Look no further!!!!!! The food was amazing, and the place is gorgeous. Tracy was my wedding planner and she did such a fantastic job paying attention to the details that mattered and making me feel special. We had to reschedule multiple times due to COVID and The North House was willing to accomodate us. With the added benefit of Avon Congregational Church down the street that performed a beautiful ceremony and Avon Old Farms Hotel right across the street it is the perfect venue.

Look no further!!!!!! The food was amazing, and the place is gorgeous. The North House was the most perfect place to host our April wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better day. The staff were helpful and attentive, including making sure that I had drinks and a plate full of appetizers while I was upstairs getting my wedding dress bustled. The location itself is beautiful- from the colonial charm of the old tavern to the bright elegant decor of the ballroom. Our food was delicious. Many guests have commented that it was some of the best wedding food that they have ever had. Tracy the wedding coordinator played a HUGE role in how the day went. She went so above and beyond the make the day incredibly special for us. She is a true gem. I cannot recommend The North House more if you are looking for a wedding venue. You will not be disappointed.

The workers there set up everything for me after Tracy explained my vision and packed everything up for me after, including extra cupcakes and my favorite purple potatoes! Our server for the head table, Kayleigh, was phenomenal. Seriously a 10/10. She went above and beyond to make sure we had drinks and got our food first. The bartender, Rob, is unbelievable. Our families will be talking about him forever. He was quick and personable. He even had a special spot reserved for my mom so she didn't have to wait in line. The staff here truly went above and beyond for us and paid special attention to every detail to make my wedding the best day of my life. Thank you to everyone at The North House!

The North House was absolutely wonderful. No regrets in choosing this venue to host my wedding. I had to reschedule my wedding 2x and The North House was very accommodating and supportive throughout the whole process. The wedding package is the best! The food is amazing! Everyone loved the lobster ravioli and main dishes. My only compliant is that the air conditioning was not working on the day of the wedding, which caused the cocktail hour to be very hot and sweaty. Luckily for us, the air conditioning in the main hall was working. We worked with several wedding coordinators--all we're great to work alongside. We had the firepit out with smores and everyone loved that feature too.

The North House Restaurant is an amazing place to have a wedding reception and/or dinner. With all that has been going on in 2020 with COVID, this team worked with us each step of the way to follow the ever changing guidelines to keep us and our families safe while also keeping the night beautiful, special, and fun. The manager, Dylan Reis is phenomenal at his job. He is so welcoming and friendly. Dylan was more than generous with his time as my parents, my husband, and I would stop by, text, and email him because things were constantly changing with COVID. He stayed calm and helped us through each new obstacle. Dylan guided us through the planning process from selecting the menu, the table arrangements, the timeline of our night, and the decorations. He even got there early in the morning to set up their separate event building for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in. During our dinner he was constantly coordinating with the chef, servers, and us to help the night go smoothly. Dylan is a wonderful person to work with. He made our day so special and memorable. Thanks to him we were able to relax and enjoy our day! The food was beyond excellent. It is the best food we have ever had. The chef is incredibly talented at her work. We have eaten at The North House many times previous to our wedding and have never been less than amazed at our meal. She is a remarkable chef. This was part of the reason we wanted to have our wedding dinner at The North House in the first place. The day of our wedding was no exception. Every dish was perfectly prepared and cooked. Everyone was blown away by how delicious the food was. The food was a definite highlight for us and our families! We were beyond happy with the meals!The baker Katrina did an amazing job on our wedding cake and desserts. Due to COVID, I requested a cake a week before the wedding. I was worried having to plan it so last minute, but she was so courteous and understanding of our situation. The cake looked even better than the photos I had sent her and tasted amazing! We chose coconut cream and we have never had a cake so delicious. Our wedding cake was more than I could have dreamed for. She also made the cheesecake and creme brûlée desserts for the wedding dinner which were also a huge hit. She is so gifted and talented. The entire team at The North House did an amazing job. Sean was our bartender for the night and he made each drink to everyone’s liking. He had anything you could ever want. The people on staff for serving that night were also absolutely wonderful. They were quick to take orders and deliver the food and drinks. They were so kind, fun, and efficient. Even before the wedding day when I was setting up some decorations the servers stopped by and introduced themselves to me. They were so happy and excited to be a part of our special day and that enthusiasm was contagious! Our waitress that night always made sure our drinks were full and consistently checked in with my husband and I. I heard the same raves about the other servers that night from our family. We are so grateful for their hard work and contagious excitement. It made the atmosphere of the night so much fun and relaxing for everyone.I could talk about our experience with The North House team for days. All I can say to them is thank you for making our wedding day more than we ever dreamed of. We had a wonderful night and are so grateful! We will never forget the kindness you all showed us.

We used North House for my baby shower. And I have to say the venue is beautiful, the food was great and the staff that worked our event were fantastic, helpful, friendly, and ran the event so smoothly I couldn't have been happier. That said, planning this event was a nightmare. Talking to the coordinator, Lisa, made me want to pull my hair out. It felt like I had to remind her what my event was and what I wanted every time I called. She sent me menus that were out of date so when we made our menu selections, half of our selections weren't available. We found out after the fact that any non-alcoholic beverages were not included in our package. And I had to email her multiple times to be sent my contract (it took over 3 weeks of constant reminder emails to get her to send it to me and I was starting to feel like a stalker). On the day of the event, nothing was arranged in the room like I asked and all of our tables were arranged on one side of the room so there was a giant open space for no reason. But another shout out to the staff that worked my event who immediately set everything up the way I wanted and the event went smoothly without Lisa and her planner's amnesia. Maybe they are better with larger events, but considering how low maintenance our event was, the fact that planning it was a disaster doesn't bode well.

The North House was the first venue that my husband and I visited when we started our wedding planning and it was the best decision we made. Jacqui made planning our wedding so much easier with her expertise. Not only would she help us stay on track with things we needed, she was always available to answer any questions that we had. Jacqui made planning our wedding so much fun, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in a heartbeat. In addition, my mother STILL raves about how beautiful The North House is. Five stars isn't nearly enough to express how much we loved working with Jacqui and The North House staff!

I was reminded to post a review on The Knot today when I was looking through my wedding photos and remembering how perfect that day was. The wedding coordinator, Jacqui, was a blessing and made the wedding day flow just as I had envisioned it. Not only did she meet with various family members multiple times before the big day on short notice to answer concerns, she also opened the venue earlier than scheduled so that we could decorate the hall with time to relax and get ready for the wedding. She went above and beyond multiple times and I am grateful for it.The North House is a beautiful historic location for a wedding and we were lucky enough to take some wedding day photos inside the Forge Room. There are just the right amount of old, historical views as there are modern since the banquet hall is modernized to be elegantly white and clean (making it easy to decorate to create a theme).The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the open bar. The chocolate lava cake and s'mores station were praised by many guests! We extended the night a few extra hours and everyone enjoyed the extra time to dance and drink. For the price and flexibility of the venue I 100% recommend it. Guests from California said they would fly over for any party if we had it at The North House again!!

Had my daughter’s wedding here for over $100 a head and we were not impressed with the value, nor the ⎌professionalism of the coordinator. I will give you the high, no let me rephrase, the low lights of the reception. After the ceremony we headed into the lounge area for cocktails and hor’s deouvres. There were some cheeses, veggys and dip. About 10 minutes later we were blessed to be given some crackers to go with it. The hot items began to come out approx 5 minutes after that with butler service only, no table with chaffing dishes. The trays being offered had 12 to fifteen items, and after a few steps they were empty. They made 8 to 10 passes and that was it, very skimpy and not enough of it. Further as one of our dinner choices we got the filet. We specifically asked about cooking temperature and Jackie told us we would be asked how we liked it cooked. If that had happened I might not be writing this, but as you can guess nobody asked and the beef came out medium well with no pink at all. Finally as an added touch the coordinator Jackie was dressed in street clothes the whole time, certainly not professional attire for a supposed high end wedding. I know she could have done better since the next morning when we went to gather our things, there was going to be another function and she had on a lovely dress, hair nicely done, and make up in place. Why she slighted us I don’t know. There are so many places you can do better for your money.

My husband and I recently got married at The North House a few weeks ago. We cannot recommend this venue enough! We had the pleasure of working with Jacqui who was extremely helpful and attentive throughout the entire planning process. She was amazing throughout the entire wedding weekend from the time I dropped decor off the day before to the time I picked it up the day after. Not a single thing went wrong and I attribute that to her! The venue is beautiful, elegant, and clean. The food was amazing, staff was amazing and we overall just had an experience we will never forget.

I am beyond pleased with our wedding at The North House. The venue is pristine and classy. I had booked my wedding from Colorado and Jacqui could not have made it easier for me to plan. She assisted us in the process of planning from menu to decor, to timing of the night, she made sure that everything ran smoothly. My guests are still talking about how much fun they had at the wedding and I owe Jacqui for keeping me sane throughout the process of planning from another state. We had had a seated dinner, cupcake tower, s'mores table and firepit. We even had our signature drink of a smoked old fashioned. Whatever we needed, Jacqui was able to accommodate. I would recommend the North House to anyone.

My guests are still talking about how much fun they had at the wedding and I owe Jacqui for keeping me sane throughout the process of planning from another state. We had had a seated dinner, cupcake tower, s'mores table and firepit. We even had our signature drink of a smoked old fashioned. Whatever we needed, Jacqui was able to accommodate. I would recommend the North House to anyone.

We were sold on their per person price, and almost couldn't believe all the things that came with the price that we thought it was too good to be true. My husband and I had our reception at The North House on June 29th, 2019, and it was truly the most perfect day! Jacqui, the wedding coordinator, went above and beyond with everything throughout the whole process. From our initial meeting to every moment leading up to and including our wedding day, Jacqui was quick to respond and ensure that everything was in order and ready to go. We had no worries or concerns on the day of our wedding, as we knew that Jacqui was there to assist us and to ensure things ran smoothly. The reception area was absolutely gorgeous. It was elegant and still felt intimate and very personalized. The large bridal suite upstairs was a perfect place for me & my wedding party to get ready, and for my husband and I to relax in for a bit before our cocktail hour began. Throughout the night, Jacqui made sure to check in with my husband and I, as well as our families to see if we needed anything else. The food was delicious- and we got numerous compliments from our guest on how great all the food was that we had (including our Sundae Bar to go with our cake- perfect for a hot June night!). Overall, the wedding reception ran incredibly smooth from start to finish, thanks to Jacqui and the team at The North House. I am so happy we picked The North House for our special day- it was really a perfect day!

Picking out a wedding venue to host the most important day of your life can be quite stressful. Luckily for us, The North House was recommended by a friend, so we added it to the list of venues to visit. When we walked in, we both fell in love with it immediately, it was even better than we expected, as it was just renovated with beautiful white marble floor making it a gorgeous modern ballroom with a rustic atmosphere in the attached tavern.With our wedding date only 6 months out, I was nervous and stressed. It’s not like I plan a wedding every day, so what do I know about the planning process? My fears and worries went away after we started working with Jacqui who is AMAZING! I feel like I had a million questions for her, but she was able to answer them quickly. I was amazed by how organized she is. At the end of each of our meetings, she followed up with notes and outstanding action items. She was also a huge help with our timeline and working with our vendors. We added a last-minute change to the sequence of events the day before and she updated our vendors, so everyone was aware of the change and it worked out perfectly. Also, don’t be afraid to throw challenges at her with your requests! She will do whatever she can to accommodate. My husband told me that our wedding is not happening without craft beer, so Jacqui got us craft beer! We celebrated our beautiful wedding day with 123 guests. Our cocktail hour was perfect, the room has an elegant staircase that provides a beautiful photo opportunity and allowed me to have an unforgettable grand entrance to our cocktail hour. The bar was pouring our signature cocktails that were perfectly balanced and the passed hors d'oeuvres were hot and delicious. The choices they have for hors d'oeuvres, entrees, and dessert cupcakes are numerous which allowed us to select something we knew our most picky eaters would enjoy. They also have options for gluten free guests and had no problem creating one off entrees for guests with complicated dietary restrictions. The food was simply delicious! After dinner, the dance floor was open, and we had a late-night fire-pit with smores in the outdoor patio while our DJ kept the energy high with nonstop dancing in the ballroom. At the end of the night we had a sparkler send off. All our friends and family made their way to the front entrance where the staff was prepared handing out sparklers. When it was time, we both had a magical exit under a sea of sparks on our way to the hotel. Their proximity to the hotel is also a win in our book. This also made the North House the perfect location for our rehearsal dinner. The ambiance was spectacular with the private dining room, rustic ambiance, wide variety of craft beer, delicious creative cocktails and meals that our guests are still raving about. We have a few guests who made several return visits to The North House for brunch the next day after the wedding and in months since as the food and service have left a positive impression. Our wedding was our perfect day. The North House was by far the best decision we made. It’s comforting to work with people who are experienced, and you can trust. We continue to look back on our wedding day fondly and are overjoyed with how the day went. I keep telling Jacqui that I want to relive the entire day again! We would like to thank The North House, Jacqui, and the wonderful staff for making the whole experience, everything we wished it would be and more! XOXO

After viewing about 25 venues, my husband and I chose the North House for our ceremony and reception on June 15. It was an hour and a half away from our hometown. We did not want to travel that far for our wedding, but we fell in love with the venue. We thought it was beautiful. Simple, sleek, clean, and modern, with a touch of rustic. The planning process was very detailed and our meetings were thorough. I was very happy with how this went.However, when our wedding day came around, things that were promised, were not delivered. We feel as if they fell short of a few things.Our vegetarian dish was eggplant parm which was served alone with no starch, protein or vegetable. It was quite the sad looking dish. At the tasting, it was prepared differently and on a bed of angel hair pasta. We had spoken in the meetings about two signature drinks, which we chose, and were served only one.The flower girl basket was filled with wine CORKS (part of our décor) instead of flowers, as we were not asked what the basket was for, so there was a BIG discrepancy with communication throughout the day. The flower petals were no where to be found so they had to be taken off of each tables centerpiece to fill the basket, and I was told that Jacqui was telling guests not to tell me (the bride) of this issue. Whether if it was to not worry or stress me out, I don’t know, but this is unacceptable. I’d rather have had someone go out and buy a dozen roses then have my centerpieces be altered. Jacqui was also supposed to use the lanterns provided to line the aisle by the end chairs, and this was not done. We went over all of this in our meetings. I feel like we were not listened to. Jacqui also had a so called “assistant” who barely assisted in anything that had to do with my needs and the needs of my wedding party. There was a point where myself, my mother, the photographer, my maid or honor AND DJ were looking for Jacqui for about an hour and she could not be found. When I voiced my opinions and concerns about the above, I was rudely attacked by the owner, Nick Chabot, who was blaming me for things not being good enough for me. Not only was I attacked, but my questions and concerns were never acknowledged. With all do respect, this was MY wedding, the most stressful, overwhelming, nerve-wracking day of a woman’s life, that I only want it to be the way I’d ever expect and want it to be, and it should have been!Many things were not brought to my attention until after the wedding from hearing it from other guests or family members. All in all, the venue is beautiful, but beware of the owner, and the inconsistent, uncommunicative, “so called” wedding coordinator, Jacqui, who completely disappointed me on my big day.

Jacqui was quite simply amazing from start to finish. She was easy to talk to and work with, available and made sure that every detail was taken care of. On the day of the wedding she was always positive and was there from the morning when we arrived to dress to after the last song. The North House and Bella's Ballroom was just beautiful. the neutral tones of grey made it so easy to use any color you would want for your wedding. My daughter was won over by the staircase. Such beautiful photos were taken on it.Finally everyone loved and raved about the food. We couldn't have been happier. Jacqui was the icing on the cake, bringing it all together.

She made the planning process easy and stress free, which was much appreciated since I was planning a wedding from afar due to school! She was so patient with me and my schedule, and always kept my mother, who was in state, in the loop. Everything leading up to the big day was seamless and our wedding day went off without a hitch. We chose to do a plated dinner, which still gave guests plenty of options- they chose from 4 different entrees! During our tasting, we decided against a plated appetizer, but instead replaced it with a gazpacho soup course. The chef was amenable to all meals tweaks and ideas we had, making sure we got exactly what we were looking for. Wedding day. My bridal party and I arrived here in the morning to get ready at the venue using their bridal suite upstairs. It was a lovely and relaxed atmosphere with a small menu of snacks available, which we utilized and snacked on throughout the day! The large amount of natural light was perfect while we got our hair and makeup done. It was the perfect place to get ready, especially on a rainy day. We had hoped to have our ceremony outside, but with the weather it wasn't going to happen. This was no issue because The North House has a plan for everything! We ended up getting married on the staircase in the foyer and it was absolutely breathtaking. Jacqui made sure the bridal party had gone through both indoor and outdoor options in case of weather during the rehearsal, which prevented any snafus when the weather pushed us inside. Overall, our day was perfect. The schedule was down to a science and things went smoothly from ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception. We are still getting compliments on the food from the wedding! We cannot say enough great things about this venue. In what can be a very stressful time, they make every effort to keep their brides and grooms relaxed and stress free- from booking the venue through wedding day. We cannot say enough great things about this venue, we just had our wedding here last weekend and everything was exactly as we imagined it would be. For that we have to thank the fabulous Jacqueline!! She answered every question we had and was so interested in every detail of our special day. She suggested some awesome options and we really enjoyed working with her! The only thing I will say was that you should mention that you want your tables called to get food if your having a Buffet. My in laws wound up being last to get food and there wasn’t a ton left. But they did eat and said the food was amazing. And it was! The north house offers a wide variety of food options which we really loved. It allowed us to choose some really neat foods. Like a taco bar, and grilled cheese and soup bar! I cannot thank the North house enough for everything they did to make our day special!

My husband and I got married and held our reception at The North House and we could not have asked for a better reception venue! Jacqui was our coordinator and she was absolutely amazing, as was the entire staff. I was an out of town bride and Jacqui made herself available to me through phone, emails, and even texts at any time. She even met with my mom multiple times and was extremely accommodating to whatever we needed. We started the day using the bridal suite to get ready- not only was it super cute, but it was large enough to accommodate a make-up artist and two hair dressers as well as my bridesmaids, my mom, my mother in law and myself with plenty of room to spare! The photographer and videographer loved the spaced and raved about the \"amazing lighting,\" which needless to say made for amazing photos and video. We had our ceremony off site and before we left I was able to see the cocktail hour space and ballroom space- Jacqui and the staff had created my vision and it was perfect. From then on our guests raved about the beautiful venue, great drinks, delicious food and even more delicious dessert! The entire experience was amazing and by far more than I could have hoped for. I cannot thank Jacqui and The North House enough for everything they did every step of the way- I would not have changed a thing!

If you're considering The North House as your wedding venue - do it! We were married here on 8/20/2016 and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. We booked The North House 3 months before our wedding, due to an unfortunate event that occurred at our original venue that required us to relocate our wedding. From the initial email to the day of the wedding, we have received impeccable service. Our families attended the menu tasting and raved about the quality of the food. We selected the lobster, filet mignon, and chicken as our entrees and have received nothing but positive reviews from all our guests on the wedding day. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception took place at The North House. We mainly worked with Nick and Torey and they delivered a wedding day that was even more perfect than we could have imagined. The day went by so smoothly, with Torey keeping everyone on track. She is extremely organized and friendly - a pleasure to work with! The ceremony space is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. The cocktail hour area bar was well-stocked and the service was phenomenal. The waitstaff during dinner were extremely professional. The ballroom is so elegant and a perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding. The North House delivers on quality, affordability, service, and location. We had many out of town guests attend and the proximity to Bradley Airport made travel so easy. Also, we stayed at Avon Old Farms Hotel which is across the street and it made it so easy to move between the venue and the hotel. The bridal suite is top notch. Also, a big perk is having the tavern in the same building, where our guests continued the after party. We couldn't have dreamt of a more perfect wedding and we owe it to the extraordinary staff at The North House. Book the North House for your dream wedding - you will be happy you did.

My wife Tara and I were married at the North House last month and cannot recommend it highly enough! Born and raised in CT, my wife and I have been to over a dozen weddings in the area and did extensive research on comparable venues. Compared to nearby options, the North House had by far the best location, flexibility, customer service, food quality, and overall value. We first looked at the venue a couple years ago when it was Belle Terrace. We loved the location, on-site ceremony option, and proximity to Avon Old Farms hotel for our guests, but had some initial concerns about management, catering, and service. These concerns were alleviated immediately during our second visit when we learned the Chabot family (Farmington Gardens owners) had purchased the property and taken over management. We met directly with co-owner Nick to discuss the space and choose a package that worked with our budget. Nick and his staff went out of their way to address our concerns, customize the menu, make exceptions to our package, recommend vendors, accommodate a rehearsal, decorate the space, and help us with all planning aspects for our big day. The family-run feel was pervasive before and after we signed our contract – a feature of the North House that stood out from the other venues we considered, which felt more like rigid wedding factories. We worked with coordinators Saleesa and Tori who were honestly as valuable as wedding planners. They met with us on weekends, took countless phone calls, kept us on task, collaborated with our vendors, stayed late the night of our rehearsal, and made sure we were calm and fed on our big day! After the reception, we invited guests for cocktails and late night snacks at the North House’s classy new restaurant, which was a quick walk from the ballroom. It was a great way to end the night and definitely a better option than the crowded hotel bar across the street. After our big day, guests raved about the food, drinks, servers, staff, venue, and overall experience. We cannot thank the North House and their staff enough for an absolutely perfect wedding day!

Praise to the North House team, led by Nick and Torey, for a fantastic event.Before any discussion of the venue, the ceremony, cocktails, dinner, room, etc...Nick, Torey and team are nice people. They treated us very fairly and warmly throughout the planning. they were easy to speak with, and very open and flexible re some add ons we asked for (specific wine selections, extra servers, indoor/outdoor ceremony flexibility, patio heaters, smores station and fire pit, etc.). over the course of planning the wedding, dealing with nice, fair people made all the difference.Anyway...our guests had a great time. Well planned, seated and choreographed ceremony in the patio/courtyard area. Plenty of picture taking space afterward. Everyone enjoyed cocktails, and the passed appetizers were excellent (dates wrapped in prosciutto, tuna tartare, and artichoke stuffed cheese balls in particular). Bar service was excellent (we requested one extra bartender, nominal fee, and our guests almost never waited for a drink). Judi Ann and her service staff were excellent throughout the meal. Our guests had filet, chicken, salmon and vegetarian options and everyone enjoyed the meal. The event/ball room was just about perfect in scale for our size. I think 120-170 are probably ideal ranges for the room. We used up lighting provided by our DJ and votives on the tables and that helped with the overall lighting effect. Sound quality and dance floor space all worked well.Because the event was well planned and well serviced by Nick, Torey and team, our guests felt comfortable and welcome throughout and that made all the difference.A great night, very happy daughter and son in law, very happy groom's parents, we are happy...cant ask for more.Nick is a good man, and a man of his word. he is about 1+ years into ownership and upgrading of the North House. We wish him all the best. If we had another daughter, and she wanted to get married in CT, we would come back.

I honestly can not rave enough about this place! We fell in love with this venue the moment we walked through it. \r\rBut the location was only a small piece of it. The whole process of getting married and planning a wedding can be overwhelming. The little details, the constant pressure of wanting a perfect day - well, we were fortunate enough to work with such a fantastic group of people that made it simple, stress free and all the while still made you feel special through out the process. \r\rWe were not just another wedding or another couple - or another party. They were all very attentive, helpful, respectful, fun and worked hard to make the day seem so easy and flawless that I can only imagine the amount of work they must have gone through to make it seem so easy. There were no surprises, no hidden fees, etc.\r\rWe decided to have a brunch wedding - however, there was no tasting offered for this - which made me a little nervous- not knowing what to expect. But, the food options were great and the food tasted amazing. Our guests are still commenting on the food!\r\rEveryone we came in contact with at our event were simply wonderful. I mean everyone from the owner, to the lovely ladies that helped the planning - who ran around to make sure everyone was taken care of, had what we needed, were all in the right place at the right time- to the man at our carving station, to the wine servers, to the bar tender. \r\rPeople may not remember what we had for decorations that day, or what food they ate - or what they had to drink. But they will always remember how they felt - and the North House made our guests feel at home, and they will remember what an amazing time they had. Over all, our responses from our guests was that this wedding was the best they have been to in a really long time. That alone speaks volumes. \r

Both self-professed \"history nerds,\" my fiance and I fell in love with the historic charm on the Farmington side of the facility. After exploring several venues in the Farmington Valley area, Belle Terrace not only had the ambiance we were looking for, but offered very competitive pricing for a comprehensive package and personalized service. There are no hidden fees with Belle Terrace -- the price includes food, cake, bar, linens, bridal attendant, etc. Another great feature is this is not a wedding factory -- you will not be one of four weddings they are cramming into a single day, which enables the staff to prepare quality food and pay full attention to you on your big day.\rWe had about 125 guests at our wedding on March 21, 2015 on the Farmington side, which approached the maximum capacity of that side of the venue, yet it did not feel cramped at all. We also took our first look photos at the venue because we loved the ambiance.\rDespite three different primary contacts over the year we planned our wedding with Belle Terrace, the staff was always extremely responsive and accommodating. Our final contact, Melissa, helped us plan every detail of both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception, from menus to timelines to decorations. Melissa helped us coordinate all of our final details during the hectic week leading up to the wedding, including last minute guest changes. The staff the night of our wedding was also fabulous -- from the moment our bridal party arrived at the building the staff made sure that we were fed and hydrated. They even went through the buffet line a second time for my husband and I after our food got cold sitting while we were up greeting our guests. \rWe had so many guests comment that the food was also the best wedding food they have ever experienced. The buffet stations on the menu are unique yet also appealing to the average taste palette. Our favorite was the slider station and mac and cheese station at our rehearsal dinner - the perfect, fun comfort food! I really can not say enough good things about Belle Terrace. From the first time we visited until the actual wedding day, they really did go out of their way to accommodate us. They went above and beyond to make us happy. We had our wedding in the ballroom area and used the outside terrace for the ceremony. It was a perfect day and all of the guests raved. Not one bad remark. People loved the signature drinks belle terrace made and the appetizers were really amazing. We did have a few wedding coordinators, and there was a transition close to the wedding. I think we were concerned things would be \"lost in the transition\" but nothing was. Everything was in our file and easily taken care of. The day of Jake and the other staff were wonderful. They made sure we had everything we needed, and took good care of all of the guests. We really lucked out with Belle Terrace.

We did have a few wedding coordinators, and there was a transition close to the wedding. I think we were concerned things would be \"lost in the transition\" but nothing was. Everything was in our file and easily taken care of. The day of Jake and the other staff were wonderful. They made sure we had everything we needed, and took good care of all of the guests. We really lucked out with Belle Terrace.

From the moment we visited Belle Terrace, we fell in love with it. Our wedding was in the grand ballroom, which was a perfect size for 125 guest count. They were responsive and professional and made our wedding planning easy. Jake and Melissa were especially helpful, and Jake made sure everything went smoothly on the actual wedding night. The food and service were great, and we received several compliments from our guests on the venue. We're glad we booked with them and we highly recommend them to anyone else!

We got married on the Farmington side of Belle Terrace, and the layout of the building is really unique. We really loved the rustic feel of the location. The food was AMAZING. We got tons of compliments on how delicious everything was. They were great with catering to everyone's food allergies, too. The only complaint I have is that the bartender was very clearly inexperienced. He was having trouble pouring beers, and was not mixing cocktails correctly. We had several comments from guests that their drinks were poured/made incorrectly. Other than that, we had a great time!!

Belle Terrace is a beautiful venue. We had our wedding in the old section of what used to be Avon Old Farms Inn. It's a beautiful 18th century building, which includes the Farmington Ballroom, a blacksmith's forgery, parlor, and the tavern (where cocktail hour is held). Our guests loved the venue, particularly its sense of history, and the food. We had dinner stations and chose the potsticker station in addition to the carving stations. Everyone raved about the food. It definitely was much, much better than typical wedding food. And the hors d'oeuvres were also amazing, particularly the clam chowder dumpling. (And apparently the crab taco which, unfortunately, I missed that night! But guests keep telling me how good it was). \r\rBecause we got married in January, which is wedding off-season, we were offered a great deal. We wanted to get married during the Christmas season (our wedding was right between New Year's and epiphany) and couldn't have picked a more beautiful venue. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous. The staff were always polite and helpful and made everything easy for us. If you want a wedding with great food in a beautiful venue with New England charm--and get a great rate, too--Belle Terrace is probably the best option in the area.

My husband and I cannot thank Belle Terrace enough for giving us the perfect wedding. It was more than we could have ever imagined. The venue is stunning, the food is amazing, the staff are absolute professionals. Working with Elizabeth during the planning process was so incredibly easy - she was always very responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Desmond, who was our event coordinator for the rehearsal and actual wedding day, was the BEST. He was everywhere - making sure the set up was perfect, assuring everything was running on time and smoothly. And everything did go just as planned and looked exactly as we hoped. Our guests raved about the venue and especially the food. This is not typical wedding food. It is above and beyond anything you ever see at a wedding or large reception. The place looked absolutely gorgeous and the food was the best I have tasted at any wedding I have attended! Our family and friends could not compliment us enough on our choice of Belle Terrace. We had our ceremony outside and our photographer found a small bridge behind the foliage. We were also able to have our pictures taken on the grand staircase. Needless to say, our pictures came out amazing. We held our reception in the historic side because we liked the character and charm. Our guests loved it. What our guests loved even more was the food! It was beyond delicious. It was the best wedding food we've ever had. Elizabeth and Jake are the best. They are experts and professionals. UPDATE - I appreciate your comment, Cindy but I have to say that we are even more disappointed now. We got married on 9/28/2012 and in your comment below you mentioned that you would get back to us as to how you could compensate us. It is 3/25/2014 and we are still waiting for a response. I understand that things happen but I don't feel that the customer should have to pay for it as we did the day of our wedding. I would appreciate it \r\rChristine was very great to work with, our tasting was amazing and, the venue is beautiful but we were very disappointed on the day of our wedding. \r1. The food was not good at all. The portions served were much smaller then what we were served at our tasting and it came out very late. They even ran out of bread for our guests and coffee was not served. \r2. They were short on staff. We only had one bartender for 180 people but were told that there would be two so our guests had to wait a long time for their drinks.\r3. Our bridal suite was not staffed well at all and our guests were locked out (in the rain) when we were told that they would be let in at a certain time. \r4. There was tulle on the pergola outside. We has asked to have it removed so that we could take pictures under and it wasn't.\r5. I asked that my father's table and mother in law's table receive great service....my father had to ask for a glass of wine three times.\r\rWe expressed how we felt and that we paid for services that were not provided yet we were not offered any kind of reimbursement. We feel like we were ripped off as you can see we are still waiting to hear back about compensation for services not provided. Be careful when working with Belle Terrace. I would suggest not making full payment prior to the day of the wedding. Keep a percentage and make sure that you receive all services that were agreed on in your contract.
