Located in Lithopolis, OH, The Old Blue Rooster Event Center is a rustic-style venue that hosts weddings and other special occasions. Lorraine heads the team of event managers at this facility, all of whom strive to help clients to fully enjoy their important celebrations. This is a setting where you can hold your dream wedding, with a joyful blend of rustic charm and elegant amenities. Since 2013, the team behind The Old Blue Rooster Event Center has been running venues to host festivities. In 2016, they established the Barn, a short distance from the existing Lodge. You and your guests can walk up to the furnished front porch, and enter through one of the three sets of french doors. The interior is a climate-controlled space adorned with chandeliers and custom accent lighting. Additionally, this venue features a kitchen prep area, sizable restrooms, and a gorgeous bar. Behind the Barn, a private garden awaits you with manicured foliage and mature trees, offering a marvelous ceremony site. Wheelchair-accessible features provide further comfort and convenience for all guests. The Old Blue Rooster Event Center hosts ceremonies and receptions as well as elopements, civil unions, vow renewals, second weddings, bridal showers, and other celebrations. The Old Blue Rooster Event Center was the perfect place for our country wedding reception! We were married in a historic park near the event center and spent the afternoon/evening at the Old Blue Rooster for our reception. Lorraine was wonderful to work with - she made our wedding easy to plan! She was open to meeting our requests for specific wines/beers, as well as room setup. She makes everything seamless by providing optional linens, bartender, and list of potential caterers. We utilized the smaller building since our reception was small and it was perfect for our reception. I highly recommend this venue!

Wow!! We hit gold with the Old Blue Rooster. The whole process was so low-stress and enjoyable! From first tour to booking to communicating all the details of our wedding to the big day, we were so thankful for OBR and their awesome team! When I walked in on our wedding day, my breath was literally taken away at the beauty. We couldnāt recommend it moreā¦.also, the price?!! Canāt beat it.

I could not have asked for a better venue for my wedding. Lorraine was great at communication and made me feel comfortable asking her questions along the way. The venue was clean and well-organized. I was able to visit the venue twice before booking. Lorraine answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns throughout the planning process and in the months leading up to the wedding. We had a blast using the lodge and grooms' suite to get ready the morning of the wedding. The venue is absolutely stunning -- inside and outside! If I could go back and do it all over again, I would absolutely make the same decision and get married at the OBR. 10/10 recommend, for sure!!

This place is beyond beautiful, especially if you are getting married in the fall. There is a beautiful outside ceremony area, but with Ohio if it doesn't cooperate, they have made a beautiful alternative inside for you as well. From start to finish Lorraine and her team were so helpful in every step of this process. If we had any questions, Lorraine was just a text message away. They have extremely affordable packages and even allow you to bring in your own outside food. They have a bar onsite that comes with staff to serve you day of. If you have specific alchol preferences, they are able to order that for you. Also they have a lodge onsite that came with our package, that we used for the bridal party to get ready in. We also left all of our stuff we used to get ready and set up decor wise in that lodge during our wedding. I loved that we were able to have both the ceremony and the reception in the same place. I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone getting married.

This was the perfect venue for our wedding reception! Not only was it so beautiful, but Lorraine made the process so easy and stress-free. She was very responsive & made sure everything was put in place that we needed/wanted for our day. Our day ran smoothly and everything was perfect. There is a bridal suite on site to get ready in, plenty of parking for guests, clean bathrooms inside, a beautiful outdoor area, and overall clean, beautiful and open reception area! We couldnāt have asked for a better vendor to work with!! Highly recommend to any future brides!

The Old Blue Rooster was an amazing venue and very easy to work with. Their prices were reasonable and the venue was updated and beautiful. Perfect venue for some amazing pictures. It was close to many large cities but also felt very secluded and peaceful during the ceremony. Working with Lorraine and each employee from the OBR was very easy and we had no problems. I definitely recommend the OBR for any event!

OBR was the perfect place to have our wedding! We got married in May 2023 and it was so important to us to find a flexible space as we planned our day! It ended up raining the morning of our wedding and we were able to wait until the last possible minute to set the reception hall up and got to have our beautiful outdoor ceremony!! Lorraine was so helpful and we even met several of our other vendors at their open house. Lots of different package options, so easy to stay in budget and well worth the price!! The staff member, Ashley on site during our event was also kind and willing to help us, highly recommend!!!

My husband and I got married at the barn in June of 2022- After touring the barn in 2021, we immediately canceled all of our other venue tours because we knew we found our perfect spot! Lorraine was very hands-on and readily available to answer any questions/ concerns we had in the planning process. The rest of the staff was friendly, professional, and overall amazing, as wel!The outdoor ceremony space required very minimal decor because it is already set up so beautifully- which I loved as a āDIYā bride on a budget! The inside was very spacious and worked very well for our small wedding of 75 guests, but can comfortably accommodate many more people. The property itself is perfect for outdoor activities such as cornhole, sāmores, and lawn games. To say Old Blue Rooster fulfilled my āfairytaleā wedding vision would be an absolute understatement. Almost 1 year later and Iām still in awe of how perfect the day went.

On the day of the wedding, amidst all the craziness, I actually stopped and looked at my husband and said ātoday is absolutely perfect and weāve been so lucky to have the most amazing vendorsā The venue is gorgeous, the price is more than fair, and they are willing to work with you to make sure itās everything you want and more. Lorraine and her staff were absolutely amazing for the entire wedding process! I was able to ask as many questions as I needed to whenever I needed to and someone was always accessible to answer them. The venue was very y priced compared to other barn venues and it even comes with the bar and bartenders (open bar for a fee). The property at the barn was absolutely stunning. Even though it rained, there were still plenty of spaces available to take pictures! The bartenders day of, even had fun with us! They let us bring in a shot ski and were laughing and interacting with us the entire time. Definitely ask about having Jenn with JCM Events to coordinate your big day! Overall I would actually give OBR and the staff 10/5 stars because I am honestly that glad we had our wedding here. It was absolutely a day to remember and the people and the place made it as wonderful as it was.

My daughters wedding was perfect, and the Old Blue Rooster was the perfect venue . Lorraine was so helpful and easy to work with throughout the entire process. The day of the wedding Ashley was our go to person and everything went according to plan. We had many compliments on the venue. The bartenders were awesome, decorating was easy, and we couldnāt have asked for a better day. There is also an area outside for the ceremony, but due to a December wedding we did not use that space.

I would absolutely recommend the OBR to anyone looking for a wedding venue! I had the most magical experience on my wedding day, October 1, 2021. Lorraine was absolutely fantastic and helped us every step of the way. She and the entire staff made the day absolutely perfect! We rented the Lodge for the bridesmaids to get ready and I would do it all over again. The outdoor venue area is easily accessible and absolutely gorgeous, the inside worked perfectly - we rented our own white chairs and it ended up being so wonderful. 10/10!

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my experience at the OBR Barn! Not only is the venue incredibly beautiful, but the staff are unbeatable! Lorraine, event manager, is so kind, accommodating, and easy to get ahold of. She was always quick to answer questions, make changes to our plan as needed, and always tried hard to accommodate any requests we had. Our experience with Lorraine alone would have been enough for me to recommend this venue to anyone & everyone! However, the night of our wedding, we got to meet even more staff who helped us set up and clean up and ran the bar for the event, and they were just as wonderful! I am so incredibly grateful to OBR for the perfect wedding experience.A few tips on the Barn: 1. Rent the lodge! Itās worth the extra money to have extra space right there on the property! And itās a great getaway space if you need a break or a quiet moment alone with your new spouse. 2. They have a liquor license, so you must purchase alcohol through the venue and cannot bring outside alcohol. But they have so many options! & when we realized the night before that we wanted champagne for mimosas during our morning of getting ready, it was so easy for me to reach out and ask them to have some available for us and add it to our bar tab!3. Ask them about their associate vendors! They have a Day of Coordinator/Planner that does weddings there all the time, so she is very knowledgeable about the venue & best way to do things. They also work closely with a linens company, that was so hassle-free! They had the linens there for us when we arrived, and all we had to do at the end of the night was leave them in a bag at the venue! Both of these vendors were extremely affordable and made all the difference in our day!4. Donāt second guess it, just book here!! They have two beautiful locations to choose from, & the incredible staff will make your day so stress free and wonderful. You wonāt regret it!

The grounds are well kept with a covered bridge, pond, swing, and gazebo. Tons of photo opportunities. The prep area in the back of the bar is perfect for storing/prepping food. Staff was responsive and punctual always. We'll definitely use the venue in the future.

We loved having our wedding at The Old Blue Rooster- The Barn. It was beautiful, just the right amount of space, close to many hotels in the area, and has a separate ceremony location. Lorraine was amazing to work with and everyone on staff helped make our day the best! We had many compliments about the location and highly recommend The Old Blue Rooster to anyone looking for a magical venue!

OBR the barn has so much charm, the outside venue is perfect for an intimate ceremony, we used the lodge for the girls to get ready in, the grounds are spacious and the landscaping is elegant the dinning hall really brings elegance with a rustic vibe too. Our wedding turned out so charming and whimsical, and the event staff was great and very personal. Highly recommend!

You really can't go wrong with either location at Old Blue Rooster. They are both amazingly beautiful and the staff is great to work with. During the planning process, I had a lot of questions and Lorraine was more than happy to keep me on track not only with my budget, but with what I would need the day of. Even things I never would have thought of! Jessica was with me the day of and was so helpful if I need anything. Overall- We are completely satisfied with the entire process but especially our day! We couldn't have asked for a better venue.

When I saw the outdoor ceremony space from a Facebook picture at The Barn at OBR I knew that this is where I wanted to get married! Lorraine was so helpful throughout the entire planning process by answering all of our questions and making helpful suggestions to personalize everything for us! Everything was perfect for our wedding! Our bartenders were fantastic at our wedding and everything looked so beautiful! Air conditioning for a mid July wedding was a must and the lodge was a perfect space to get ready in! Our photographer, videographer, and makeup artist loved the lodge and the location with all the natural light. I can't say enough good things about this venue and their staff!

Everything was beautiful and perfect, and I would definitely recommend having your wedding here! The scenery was gorgeous, there was plenty of space, and the staff was amazing. All of our vendors had plenty of space, there were plenty of tables for our guests and food and vendors. They had linens on site to be rented as well as a drink trough, a drink stand with plenty of drinks and ice, and beautiful decor like a hoop for greenery. I am so pleased!

Where do I begin. Choosing the Old Blue Rooster for our wedding was the best decision we could have made. The outdoor ceremony space is beautiful and the inside of the venue speaks for itself with minimal decorations. The staff was more than accommodating and worked so hard to make sure our day was perfect. Lorraine was quick to return any calls and texts and made our wedding planning process a breeze. We hired Alisa, our coordinator, for all our day of wedding needs. I'm 100% positive we wouldn't have made it through our wedding day without her. She discreetly handled any issues to ensure that we were fully focused on having the most fun. I will forever cherish our wedding day at OBR and highly recommend this venue to any future brides. You won't regret :)

My husband and I got married at the Barn June 8th and the day was perfect. The barn is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for an elegant rustic wedding. Lorraine and her staff were amazing and very accommodating. We booked our date a year and half out and Lorraine always checked in with me and was very responsive with my emails. The staff is very friendly and made everything about the day perfect. I would recommend the Old Blue Rooster to anyone! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

The Old Blue Rooster was the perfect place for our Wedding. We started planning a little over a year beforehand with Lorraine, and she was so helpful through the entire process. She is continually working with several brides at a time and was able to respond to any of my emails within the day I sent it. The venue is beautiful and super affordable. The day we set up, we realized we were missing a table and Alyssa was our go to person for that day and the day of the wedding. She was able to work so well with us and rolled with everything we asked for and even made suggestion that made our day even more perfect. I think it would be hard to find a better, more reliable staff for our wedding. There's no way we could thank them enough!

i had my wedding at the Old Blue Rooster- Shelter House location in June 2018. This venue was extremely beautiful and the scenery was incredible. My bridal party and I stayed at the venue the night before in the suits located at the venue and it made it tremendously convenient to have my hair and make up girls come to us. We spent the whole day getting ready and enjoying time together instead of worrying about running around and being certain places at specific times. Lorraine, the manager of the venue, was very helpful that day as well. She was helpful the entire journey of my wedding planning. When I needed questions or wanted to go over and look at the venue so I could come up with decoration ideas she was always willing to work with me so I could see the venue. She made the planning a little less stressful because come on now, wedding planning is nerve wracking because you just want the PERFECT wedding. My ceremony was so beautiful and the reception was fun and everyone had a great time. So many people told me how much they loved the venue and how remarkable it turned out. I had an incredible experience at this venue and I would recommend this venue to all of you that are looking at this review š

Wow, I cannot say enough about this place! While it is a little off the beaten path The Barn was an amazing place to hold our ceremony and reception. Not only did Lorraine and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to help us make our day special and unique. From including wine from my family's vineyard, to helping me find an emergency salon when my hair and makeup cancelled morning of, these people were completely wonderful and I could not recommend them more! The ceremony place was beautiful- I was worried about all of the nuts and shells that fell onto the aisle, but they were completely cleared off, as was the rest of the space. The reception space was perfect with lighting and draping fabric- the little details created an incredible, unforgettable picture. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for such an amazing weekend!

From including wine from my family's vineyard, to helping me find an emergency salon when my hair and makeup cancelled morning of, these people were completely wonderful and I could not recommend them more! The ceremony place was beautiful- I was worried about all of the nuts and shells that fell onto the aisle, but they were completely cleared off, as was the rest of the space. The reception space was perfect with lighting and draping fabric- the little details created an incredible, unforgettable picture. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for such an amazing weekend!

I just had my wedding at OBR:The Barn location and my day was perfect. I can't say enough good things about this venue, Lorraine and the staff here. Lorraine is seriously the best and is so helpful, you are able to create your own packages at OBR which is so beneficial & cost saving. Plus they have a lot of wedding decor that you can rent and it's much more cost effective than having to buy all the decor that you only use one time. The venue is stunning and my guests had the best time!! ā¤

This venue was exactly what my daughter was looking for!!!! The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. The staff was wonderful throughout the entire process; they even called my cake vendor on the wedding day for me to find out where the cake was. I would highly recommend this venue for your special day!The outdoor ceremony area is gorgeous; it requires little to no decor and seats plenty of people. Plus there are plenty of areas for nice outdoor photos everywhere.The indoor area looked very nice by itself; you only had to add your own little touches to make it beautiful. And they even let you rent a lot of stuff from them so you donāt have to purchase a bunch of things that you will never use again.I also like the āpackagesā they have; it makes it your choice to do as much or as little as you want on that day.

We had our wedding at The Barn on 5/20/17 and we were very happy with the venue and the service! Lorraine was easy to work with and helpful in figuring out our details. We were able to bring in our own food and the alcohol they provided was very fairly priced. Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from, but the staff we worked with were nothing but friendly and helpful!

We just had our daughter's wedding at The Barn this past Saturday and everyone was extremely happy with the venue and staff. They were helpful when asked and stayed out of the way unless we needed them for something. The wedding garden was beautiful with the walkway newly paved and the wooden archway at the front. We couldn't have been any happier with our venue selection and would choose it again for future events.

The level of service we have received since day 1 has been great and has made planning very easy. If you are looking for a venue, check this place out in person! This venue is gorgeous! I got married at the outdoor location in June 2014, and it was amazing. The weather was perfect which always makes for a great time. We loved the flexibility and how we were able to cater our own food. The staff was so helpful with whatever we needed the couple days we were there. The communication throughout the entire process was great. Best of all, this venue is absolutely beautiful and you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get married. We could easily stay under our budget. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to get married!

I just had my wedding here on April 22nd 2017 and it was an absolutely amazing experience at The Barn venue. To star,t the venue itself is gorgeous. It was the only place in our price range that my husband and I felt we could have an indoor or outdoor wedding and still love it. The outdoor part of the venue originally was all grass which made me nervous but it is now a beautiful cobblestone walkway so if you are worried about it, don't be. It was beautiful and the new arbor that replaced the metal half gazebo thing is gorgeous as well. Lorraine was amazing to work with on every level - she was quick to return texts, calls, or emails and was extremely flexible in every way. We literally changed our rehearsal dinner time three times that night (within like 30 minutes of our original time mind you) and she was very very accommodating. When we were clearly frazzled over setting up appetizers the day of she and her colleague helped my super stressed mother with the process. The two of them were also our bartenders and they were extremely nice to everyone and even extended the bar time last minute because we hadn't even come close to hitting our limit. The bar service itself is super wonderful and the margarita machine they have was a big hit with our guests. I would highly recommend this venue and encourage you to ignore the one star reviews from the disgruntled customers. Lorraine is amazing, the venue is beautiful, that is all.

The barn location's garden outside is a muddy mess. It's on an incline. Everyone was slipping up and down the aisle way. We asked if hay or gravel could be laid down, but we were refused. We ran over 30 minutes during rehearsal due to the fact no one could walk anywhere in the mud. The bride was busy speaking to the caterer, while the manager was tapping her foot and pointing to her watch telling us she would have to charge us for the extra time. I understand it was in the contract but there was no reason for the interruption. Or she could have spoken to the groom/parents. The next day we got a message saying hay had been laid down and they would not be charging us. Wedding day: The brides dress was covered in mud as she walked down the aisle. (If you want a clean dress, this is not the place for you!) The owner used profanity to our bridal party when she approached us during our photography session. Apparently, her wedding manager had not told her we had paid to take photos on the site, so we were kicked off the main site by the bridal suite. Communication was horrible with these people. Profanity was unacceptable. Even our limo driver said he had never had such a horrible experience with wedding venue staff before. I would STAY AWAY from this venue.
