Katie Sunday(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-08-2021 This is a challenging review to leave. Hosting our wedding at The Old Courthouse was a dream - there's no place else I would have wanted to get married. It's absolutely beautiful - elegant and stately, and we had so many guests comment on how amazing the venue was. We are thrilled we were able to make the Courthouse work. That said, working with the Courthouse is verrrry difficult. It is a government building run by a government agency. They are not event coordinators, and not particularly incentivized to run a wedding venue. Lots of rules, stipulations, little transparency through the planning process. On top of that, there's no AC, no kitchen, and you must bring everything in. It is BYOB which is awesome, and is less expensive than comparable venues. At the end of the day, getting married at the courthouse was a fairytale, but if you want an easy planning process look elsewhere. Reviewed on 31-12-2021
Jennifer Stefancik(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2020 I have never worked with people who could care less about hosting a wedding. We had booked in August 2020 and it was extremely difficult to get a reply or confirmation about anything, but we were excited about the venue so we pushed all of those emotions aside. Then, we tried to reschedule due to COVID months beforehand and they couldn't help at all - no flexibility, regret, or any emotion - just \"we can't help you. We are booked for the next 2 years.\" I know of 20+ other couples who had to reschedule due to COVID elsewhere and no one got treated the way we did.We thought we would still get our photos taken at our original venue, so we secured a spot 6 months in advance. I followed up this week (1 month out) to confirm our slot since I have learned that nothing is guaranteed here, and shockingly...they gave our slot away. Reviewed on 28-06-2021
Colleen Croyle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-08-2019 The old courthouse is a beautiful, elegant and historic event space. We received so many complements on the beauty and grandness of the space. Upstairs is perfect for cocktail hour and the stairs make a grand entrance to the reception. There are challenges with setup, food, acoustics and lighting, so you need vendors who are experienced with the venue. There is no central AC, but they provide portable AC units. The temperature was comfortable for our August wedding. There is extra planning time and cost because you have to bring in everything (tables, plates, linens, etc.), but it is worth it. We used Taste of Excellence and they did a fantastic job with setup and food. The old courthouse books two years in advance, so if you are interested, contact them quickly. They will hold a date for a month without charge. We loved our wedding at the old courthouse! Reviewed on 15-11-2019
Julie Greene(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2019 We LOVED the Old Courthouse, definitely a dream venue. Books 18mos to 2years out for spring summer and fall priority dates. ONLY use A Taste Of Excellence as you caterer. They provided a flawless flip, really know this venue and will work with you on all speciality needs. Sound is tricky in here, we went with Selective Sound because they are also adept and know the venue in terms of setting things up. Lastly, get a GOOD planner who has experience here and knows how to bring all the elements together. I wouldn’t recommend going with someone who hasn’t done it here before—and I’d ask the planner for recommendations of brides they have done wedding here for and get the brides review of their performance. Kevin K(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2019 Our guests were floored by this venue, and we couldn’t be happier either. This venue is gorgeous and affordable. Big thanks for Gina at the courthouse for being very responsive to all of our questions. Book well in advance though, this venue fills up very quickly. Reviewed on 12-08-2019
Natalie Beck(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2018 This venue is absolutely beautiful! From the minute we walked into the courthouse we were wow'd by the space. You really don't need any decorations since the building is already so beautiful, so we only had to worry about centerpieces and other table decor. The upstairs balcony is a great space for cocktail hour and the grand staircase is to die for. There are no preferred vendors which is nice, but you do have to put in a lot of work since you're renting an empty space. It is so worth it though! Reviewed on 15-10-2018
Brittney Jenkins(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-05-2018 Our wedding was an absolute fairytale. I could not imagine a more amazing venue. The natural beauty, the elegance and the history is just stunning. All of our guests were amazed with the Old Courthouse. Completely worth the money! Reviewed on 01-06-2018
Nicole Cornelius(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2019 Truly a spectacular spot for a reception. Absolutely gorgeous inside, excellent location in downtown Cleveland. Ability to rent the parking structure behind the building. Our guests could not stop talking about what an incredible venue it was. You do have to bring in all of your own vendors, food, etc. But it is definitely worth it. Reviewed on 28-11-2017
Elana Satin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2017 No where in Cleveland is as beautiful a venue as here. We were looking for a place that would be great no matter the weather and that we could have the ceremony and reception in one location. From the minute we walked in we knew it was the place. However, it is not an \"easy\" venue. All you pay for is the space and nothing else. We used Executive Caterers who were awesome, but we had to rent every single thing from them, including a coat rack! Gina from the county office was lovely and very professional but I never did meet her in person which was a bit different. The DJ can compensate for the unusual acoustics. I think the speeches were difficult for some guests but the music sounded great! People pay hundreds of dollars just to get their photos taken here and if you book the venue you'll have your whole wedding with that back drop! Expensive but worth every penny! Matthew Hellerman(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-01-2017 The Old Courthouse was an amazing venue to hold our wedding. Moving things in and out was relatively easy, but I would highly recommend using vendors who have worked there in the past. Especially the DJ as the sound can be tricky since everything is marble. The bathrooms have been renovated so you can ignore is that was an issue in a previous comment. There is no kitchen on site which poses a little problem but as long as your caterer has worked that way before, you should be fine. The pictures were amazing! Reviewed on 20-02-2017

Beautiful! Everything we wanted in a venue and more! It is important to note that there will be a significant amount of work with vendors (because the venue does not provide any) but it is definitely worth it. Would recommend as a classy and elegant venue to any bride! Reviewed on 07-11-2016
Breanna Carrero(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2015 Venue was beautiful. However, my \"bridal suite\" was a nightmare. I was shoved in a dirty, dusty janitors closet as guests came because no one could be reached to open the room. The acoustics are awful. If you are looking for great service, don't look here- but if you're looking for a beautiful venue it's definitely a winner! Reviewed on 31-03-2016
