She was very communicative, answering our questions promptly with thorough responses. She went through the packages with us to find something that would work for our price point. The packages include almost everything and the catering team did such a great job the day of, all we had to worry about was showing up. Throughout the planning process, Vanessa was very responsive to emails and made us feel so special on the big day. She even perfectly timed our transition from the outdoor cocktail hour to dinner on the covered terrace to avoid everyone getting rained on as a storm passed through. The venue itself requires very little decoration as it is already so picturesque, and the food was fantastic (which received many compliments from our guests). Melissa Gallo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-03-2021 The best choice I made was picking the Palms as my venue. We got engaged in April 2020, in the middle of lockdown, and starting to figure out where the heck to book a wedding was a huge challenge. Many venues were unresponsive, and others were still using their \"same old\" policies and payment procedures that simply were not going to work with us given how shaky everything was with the world. From the beginning, the Palms worked with us. They worked with us to make changes to the contract, to the payment plan, to everything, to make sure we felt OK and safe proceeding with signing a contract in the middle of the Covid-19 uncertainty. Every email was \"yes,\" and \"we can do that,\" or even offering to go a step further. I had a very unique set-up as my entire wedding was outdoors, on their Lawn, with dancing on the Terrace. The entire night, I kept being told that this was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to. The Palms has such a beautiful tropical outdoor environment. If you dream of greenery and a lush outdoor environment, this is THE place. The food was DELICIOUS - just as good as it was at my Tasting. If you're looking for an outdoorsy sort of vibe, in a prime location for travelers, look no further. We had such a positive experience, we decided at the 11th hour to also host a welcome event on the Friday before the wedding for a small group, and we went ahead and did it at the Palms as well. Everyone loved it. To all the new brides - I cannot caution you enough about picking a venue that will work with you, is responsive, and makes your life easier. You will go back and forth with them 100 times about layouts, food, guest counts, and more. The Palms made my life easier all around --- and their hotel coordinator Vanessa Ortiz feels like family to me at this point. She is an enormous asset to the hotel and I look forward to sharing that with the higher-ups. No other hotel or venue I looked at offered the outdoor spaces for the capacity I wanted, other than the Palms. I am beyond obsessed with the beautiful garden wedding I had! The classic tropical character of the hotel is unlike any other in the Miami Beach area and we felt it was truly beautiful and unique. Compared to the glitzy, overpriced, wedding packages available in the nearby hotels, we felt the pricing at The Palms was good for a hotel of its kind in South Beach. The food was absolutely delicious. So many of our guests complimented us on it. I cannot stress enough what a great experience it was working with Holly, the director of catering and events who was also the event coordinator on our wedding day. Holly was so responsive, caring, and just wanted to make sure that everything went according to our vision. Paul Riley(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-02-2020 We researched a few wedding venues online before reaching out to The Palms. While this was easily our preferred venue after seeing the photos of this place on the internet, and considering the fact that we wanted a \"turn key\" venue where most everything was included (we wouldn't have the time to seek out and sample/get quotes from a ton of different vendors offering all the services we needed), we expected pricing for The Palms to be way above our budget. We contacted them about 7 months before our preferred date range, and even that far out, they had no Saturday dates available, only 1 Sunday and a handful of openings on Fridays. We selected Sunday since we had several out of town guests on our list, and they'd only need to take Monday off from work/school, whereas if we'd selected a Friday, they'd most likely need to miss both a Thursday and a Friday to travel to Miami and attend.Vanessa Ortiz was our wedding coordinator. She me with us to answer our questions before we signed the contract and paid our deposit, and was great to deal with in the months leading up to our big day. Since we went with a Sunday wedding, the F&B minimums were also considerably less than if we'd gone with a Friday or Saturday so it was within our budget. We were invited to come to The Palms and sample the food and drinks that would be served at our wedding, she was great every step of the way and communications were always good. After we secured The Palms and decided which spaces here we wanted for our wedding (the gazebo), cocktail hour (the trellis) and reception/dinner (veranda terrace), we really only needed to then secure our officiant, DJ, florist and photographer. The cost of the wedding cake as well as tables, chairs and linens was included in the price of the package we selected here, though we did need to visit with the vendors providing those to make our selections. The other big bonus for us was that The Palms guaranteed us the use of alternative indoor venues in case of rain, as all the spaces we'd planned to use on our wedding day were outdoors. Other wedding venues we considered were unable or unwilling to make that same guarantee. The staff here at The Palms were great..We had a lot of wedding decor and other items to drop off a few days ahead of time. As we pulled our van up to the front entrance, several staff were there to unload for us and securely store our stuff. On our wedding day we were given a complimentary hotel room for the night, but also a secured conference room not far from the wedding and reception areas to store our items, get ready before the wedding, etc. On the day of the wedding, Vanessa and the staff here unboxed everything we sent, followed our instructions and had everything set up and in place a few hours before the ceremony so we simply needed to check things over and put our final touches where required. Simple!Overall we were very happy with our experience here and would recommend The Palms to others. Even weeks later, our guests are still raving about the venue, how \"perfect\" everything was, and giving high praise to the food and drink served by The Palms! Reviewed on 30-03-2020

Our wedding was fantastic solely because of the environment and our guests. However, we spent an incredible amount of money and I was surprised we were not treated with a more special feeling. I will tell everyone planning a wedding to NOT use Yasmin as the coordinator. We paid extra for the day-of coordinator service and I should not have. Complete waste of money. A month before our wedding, Carlos, who we loved, left, and we had a brand new coordinator. They should have compensated us just because of that stress put on me to try to have a relationship with a brand new coordinator right before our wedding. The day of, Yasmin was barely around me, the bride, like she was supposed to be and promised. No one knew where and when to go when we ran behind schedule. The table numbers she sent me were what I followed and they were placed incorrectly the day of. I am furious at that, because the incorrect tables were those of our parents. Then, upon arriving to the room, the way the cake was left was shameful. You are supposed to keep the top tier to freeze and eat in one year. They wrapped the cake tightly in tin foil and left it out in the room, not even in the fridge. It was completely ruined. No one from the hotel asked afterwards how everything went and we never even met the manager. Poor organization and care. Reviewed on 01-12-2017

I called and spoke with Yasmin, the Senior Catering Manager to set up a tour for that upcoming Saturday. That day, we were heading to Miami Beach, my parents drove an hour to get there, and she calls 30 minutes before the appointment saying that she wasn't going to make it. She didn't offer any solutions, but I figured we were already down there so I asked if anyone else could show us around. She found a willing concierge who was actually very nice so we went. The property is beautiful and all of us like the space so we wanted to move forward. I tried getting ahold of Yasmin all weekend to find out if our desired date was available. Finally I got through to her on Tuesday only to find out she had booked the date earlier that morning. Although disappointed, we liked the property so much that we were willing to change the date and moved forward. The following Saturday we set up another tour, with her this time. She gave us a very rushed tour because she scheduled another appointment one hour later. We sat down and went over details and she said that she would draft a proposal and get it to us asap and that we would have to make a REFUNDABLE deposit (for 10 days) in order to save the date. We are waiting all weekend for the proposal and finally on Tuesday I get an email saying \"sorry it never sent, it was in my outbox.\" Also, down at the bottom of the proposal it stated that the NONREFUNDABLE deposit would be required to save the date. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it didn't sit well with us after she mentioned several times that this was a refundable deposit for the first 10 days and after that it would become nonrefundable. Meanwhile, from the first time I saw the property I wasn't convinced about the gazebo or the table set up for the reception and I had been asking for pictures of what they had done in the past. Each time she assured me she would send them over. I still haven't received them. Finally, middle of the following week, she called asking about the deposit. By that time we were so fed up with her lack of response and disorganization that we decided to move on. We were so disappointed because we loved the venue but did NOT feel comfortable putting the most important day of our lives in the hands of someone so careless. It's nothing personal again Yasmin, I don't know her, but I wanted to spare someone that might experience the same thing because at the end of the day is was so disappointing and a huge waste of time. We got married in the garden by the gazebo, has our cocktail our on the terrace overlooking the garden, and the reception in one of their beautiful ballrooms. We had the best time of our lives. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful through the process as well as on the day of our wedding. We we so happy with the service and the attitude of everyone that worked on our wedding. We truly didn't have to worry about anything. They are all professionals and even though many times I felt a little nervous through the process, they always knew what to do and made it easy for me. Allison Friendly(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2015 I am way overdue in writing this review...my husband and I got married at The Palms 2 years ago. We had looked at about 15 venues before finding The Palms. Initially convinced that we wanted an oceanfront ceremony, this limited our search and we kept finding the wrong places. We decided to then visit The Palms on a whim, and knew immediately that we had found our venue. It really is the most beautiful place -- luxuriously tropical with southern accents. The standard ceremony space has a sprawling veranda with beautiful paddle fans and a cascading white staircase leading down to a fairytale gazebo space. It was magical, and felt like we took a page straight from a storybook as we walked around to see the space from every angle. When we signed our contract with The Palms, we were initially working with superstar Stephanie, and about 1 month into planning she found a new job with a different hotel. We were crushed, but then we met Carlos Velez :) Carlos is like a wedding ninja -- his patience and calm demeanor, even in tough situations (aka dealing with crazy bridezillas like me, on occasion) was so comforting. He was extremely seasoned, friendly, easily approachable and most importantly, accessible! I hear horror stories from my friends about their event coordinators not returning calls or emails, but even in the midst of planning dozens of other weddings, Carlos made me feel like his #1 priority at all times. I am so so so grateful for that! Then came time for the actual wedding weekend. The rehearsal dinner was perfect and delicious, and our wedding was truly the BEST day of our lives. Every single detail was flawlessly taken care of by this dream team of Juan Carlos, Carlos and Paul and I will forever be grateful for their 5-star service. Always present and yet never obtrusive, we felt so taken care of all day and night. I really can't imagine a wedding more perfect, and will forever be grateful to this staff and crew for bringing our dream wedding to life!!! Reviewed on 13-08-2017

Carlos and Vanessa did a great job putting the event together in the weeks leading up and everything was perfect. It truly was our dream wedding. Their venue is beautiful and it doesn't even need much decoration to make it perfect. The wedding on the beach was so beautiful, the cocktail hour under the tiki hut was fun and relaxing for our guests, and the reception on the veranda was so incredible, we couldn't have asked for a better day. Carlos made sure everything ran on time and went smoothly - so many people said it was the most well organized wedding they've ever been to! Reviewed on 12-02-2017
dianne coronado(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-06-2016 I must say that I loved the place, it was absolutely beautiful for our intimate ceremony and reception. At the beginning they changed us the wedding coordinator, what pissed me off a little and in a certain way I felt unassisted during the changing-coordinator process. But at a certain point Carlos was in charge of our wedding and he was very kind and very helpful. He was very professional, cortegeous and patient! The guest (and us too) loved food and the service in general. I definitely recommend this hotel. The overall experience was amazing! I loved it! The staff was very kind. My only complain was that at the end of the reception, the staff threw away the original boxes of items we bought for the wedding and we would love to keep them the way they arrived at the hotel. Alex Sultan(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-01-2016 The Good: This venue is absolutely stunning and a great place to have a wedding if you are hosting a lot of out of town guests. The people in charge of the wedding are professionals and will make your day perfect. (I highly highly highly recommend hiring Yasmin as your day of coordinator, she is amazing. Your day will be much less stressful if she is in charge, I promise.) The food is delicious and they will work with you to make your day exactly what you want it to be. The venue is stunning and is second to none.\r\rThe Bad: While the wedding personnel and the venue are AMAZING, the staff at the front desk, in the reservations department, at valet and even working at the restaurant are subpar. You will need to keep on top of your hotel block and the price of the rooms online versus offered to your guests. Also, you will need to warn your guests that the valet takes 700 years to get cars, so they should be prepared to wait after the wedding or whenever they check out. \r\rIN SUMMARY: I still very highly recommend the Palms as a venue as the wedding itself was absolutely perfect and Yasmin is an AMAZING coordinator. Anonymous (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-02-2015 I just got married at The Palms hotel and spa on south beach miami a couple of weeks ago. I never write reviews but I had to write one for this hotel. I planned my wedding from Vancouver Canada and had never been to Miami before. I was a little worried as I just chose this location, picked a wedding package and went with it. Contacting the staff and arranging everything from a distance without ever seeing the location or meeting anyone made me worry that our wedding may be a bit of a disaster... I could not have been more wrong tho! As soon as you walk into this hotel just as a guest not as the bride, they treat you like royalty. I could not believe the service at this place. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced. It made me feel like a celebrity or something! The hotel itself is absolutely breath taking and the beach and pool area are gorgeous. It is a true paradise heaven. The food there is to die for and all organic, farm to table healthy options which I being a nutritionist was in complete heaven. \r\rI got married at the gazebo which was beautiful! On the day of the wedding the staff was absolutely amazing. They had staff everywhere dressed very nicely with wires so they could communicate from different locations. Our wedding coordinator Yasmin made sure the day went absolutely smooth and was absolutely amazing!! I could not believe how much help everyone was and how well they pulled off all the little details of the wedding that you just don't think about. Paul who was a man helping at the wedding was also amazing. I would literally think or say to my fiance/now husband that I think i wanted a wine and it was if they would read our lips or minds because paul would come over and ask what he could get me. It was honestly like nothing i had ever experienced before. This is how the rich and famous must live because it was crazy how well they treated us and how they got us everything we wanted before we would even ask for it. I am so impressed with this hotel. \r\rWhen we got married it was a high season however and this place is expensive to stay at! They gave us a free night on the night of our wedding though and the best room in the hotel.. I though they would put us somewhere cheaper to save money and because it was high season.. but we literally got the top floor center looking over the ocean. We arrived to our hotel with hand written thank you cards from our coordinator yasmin and the hotel. They had champagne a fruit platter and chocolate covered strawberries. It was top top service. \r\rI honestly cannot say one bad word about this hotel. I want to live there! ha It was absolutely a dream wedding. I highly highly recommend this hotel for your big day!!! Mike Cantilo(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-03-2014 We had both our wedding and rehearsal dinner at the Palms and they were both utterly phenomenal. Our hotel-provided wedding coordinator was Yasmin Gomez and the Captain of catering was Paul King. They both did a stellar job and put a ton of work into making sure our event went off without a hitch. Our guests raved about the buffet menu at the rehearsal dinner and we didn't even have to spend any time selecting items - they default had something for everybody there! The drink service was continuous and had a great selection, ensuring our party stayed well lubricated. I also brought a few special requests bottles with me and the bartender was able to serve them to certain guests without any problems. We also were able to move the party to the Palms Essensia bar afterwards that night and were able to invite all our guests to that part, which went off great. The day of the ceremony, Yasmin was particularly awesome and volunteered to help steam-clean the bride's dress while we wrapped up other preparations. For the wedding ceremony and reception, Yasmin and Paul were able to accommodate a lot of the unusual and diverse requests we had. We had our ceremony on the beach (for which they were able to provide a mobile audio system) followed by a naval officers' sword arch. We then had the cocktail hour on the south lawn where there was a full bar plus seafood raw bar. Then Yasmin was able to line up the wedding party on the fly and get us introduced in a grand entrance into an indoor ballroom with full synch with the DJ despite no rehearsal for this section. At the ceremony, we had both a DJ and live band, and the Palms had no trouble accommodating both. We had an outside vendor provide a chocolate fountain, and we brought a board/drinking game we designed ourselves for the guests, as well as several homemade decorations. They were even able to help us hide the unusual costumes we had for our first dance, and we were able to achieve total surprise on our guests. The Palms staff was able to incorporate all these unusual elements with a lot of care and no hiccups. We kept the party going from 4PM to 1AM and it all went off great. Many guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to - and I'd have to agree! Thanks so much Yasmin and Paul for making our day awesome and our dreams come true! Reviewed on 03-04-2014

Jennifer Richards(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-09-2013 Choosing The Palms Hotel and Spa as the venue for our wedding ceremony and reception was the best decision we could make. From the initial visit to the site, we felt welcomed and already certain this would be the perfect venue. In search of a place that could offer us a tropical destination wedding type feel for an affordable cost, we researched over 20 venues in the South Beach area. The Palms is in the perfect location as it is conveniently located on Collins where your guests will have access to the lively vibe of South Beach, yet feel as if they are in a tropical oasis, as it is in an area that is relatively quiet and not as hectic as further down the strip. We were offered a competitive wedding package which was surely the best value for the area. Our guests were offered discounted rooms which were easily booked with the assistance of the reservations department. All our planning and concerns were always addressed with ease and professionalism by Michelle Cannici, catering director. She would field all our emails and phone calls in a timely manner, making it clear from the start she was dedicated to making our day a hassle-free, smooth, memorable experience. She is an expert at what she does! Our ceremony was held on the beach, cocktails on the Essensia Lounge Terrace, and reception in the Royal Palm Ballroom. I can say that the day was simply beautiful. The staff was more than accomomdating and pleasant. The atmosphere was calm and organized. The food was fantastic. The catering/ waitstaff were friendly and efficient. Though we did not have a wedding planner per se, the staff ensured that all needs were addressed, communicated with our outside vendors, and guided us every step of the way that evening. They took care to execute things just as we wanted them. Although beautiful, I have to warn brides getting married in the coming months that - if you are looking for a quiet intimate Ceremony where you are able to hear your spouses vows, then this is not the place for you. I was extremely hurt by the fact that I was not advised by my wedding coordinator that there would be full construction site next door. I had to find out the day prior to my wedding when I came in to pay my fees. I was so shocked and stressed that I did not sleep a wink the entire night. I was assured that my ceremony would be quiet as they'd asked the workers to shut off during that time, and that we d work around the reception so taht it wouldn't be as noticeable. Unfortunately for me, the ENTIRE 25 minutes of my ceremony were accompanied by heavy drilling, shouting, and loud alarms going off. I was heartbroken to see my wedding videos, where all you heard was construction. I barely remembered my vows as I was so distracted by the noise, it was horryfying. No one heard us, which is what hurt the most. This is something I will never get back and I am extremely dissapointed in the lack of professionalism to step in and advise their clients of this problem, prior to trapping us into this mess. \rAll in all our wedding was beautiful at the Palms, but I am left with a sore spot about the customer service we received re: the construction and even with the lack of help while we came in the morning of to set up and get ready - not one person was helpful to assist with anything we needed help with. It was kind of comical, I could not understand how they would not help a bride unload her wedding dress as I was alone stomping along trying to hold everything together. My husband was also unloading the dj equipment in his suit, and not one person helped him. \r\rI will never get this day back.\r Reviewed on 05-06-2012
Danielle Foster(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2012 The Palms was the most perfect venue for our wedding. We are a VA-based couple and searched various resorts all over FL/Caribbean. We chose The Palms Hotel & Spa because of their romantic, serene, and intimate setting. We had our ceremony at the gazebo, cocktail hour on the terrace, and our reception in the Royal Palm ballroom. The grounds were clean and very well groomed. Our guests absolutely LOVED the venue and complimented us several times over the course of our five day stay. \r\rAside from the venue, the most satisfying experience was working with our coordinator/DOC, Marlem Pujol. Marlem was \"on top of her game\" as ALL of my vendors complimented. My florist said she never worked with such a competent and meticulous coordinator, EVER. She even went as far as to say that she wish she could clone Marlem! My bridal party, family, and friends all took the time to come to me and told me how impressed they were with Marlem. There is no doubt, that The Palms has an over-qualified asset to their catering team. She really should be working much larger events. Marlem was very responsive, meticulous, friendly, and very educated/experienced in her field. She caught all potential details that could have gone wrong and suggested alternative ideas that would be more suitable (and she was absolutely correct). She went over and beyond the call of duty. During the whole extravaganza, Marlem would run up to me, apply my lip gloss, and disappear to attend to something else! She was AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! Kept an attentive eye on everything and everyone. At one point I even saw her running around carring my mother's purse! I cannot even begin to explain all of the things she did that truly made such a difference. I was blown away the entire time. \rAnother person I would like to recommend is Paul King, the banquet manager. He was AWESOME! Also very much on top of his game. He took great care of us and made sure we were good and okay during the reception. He was so kind to all of my guests and was such a joy to be around! Loved him!\r\rOverall, we were totally impressed with these two and they really perfected our experience. We could not have had a more perfect wedding without any glitches -- without them. Not one thing was out of place or one mistake occurred. The food was AWESOME and HOT as well.\r\rI highly recommend The Palms Hotel & Spa as your wedding venue, Marlem Pujol as your coordinator/DOC, and Paul King as your Banquet Manager!! You cannot go wrong. Reviewed on 21-05-2012

Christa Hendricks(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-03-2012 I am SO glad I chose The Palms! If you are looking for an elegant garden setting in Miami this is it! No other location can boast their variety of settings: classic gardens and gazebo, ballroom, AND pristine beach! We had an intimate wedding using the gazebo, terrace, and veranda. The food is especially amazing; I've never experienced a hotel (let alone a caterer) with better food! Our coordinator, Michelle, made everything run perfectly, and our guests were blown away. Do NOT book anywhere else in South Florida until you have visited The Palms. If you are lucky enough to be one of their brides, it's an experience you will never forget! Reviewed on 09-04-2012

When we finally got to visit, though, I was blown away! It is such a pretty hotel. On the day of the wedding, everything was perfect! Monica did a great job making sure everything went smoothly - I was not stressed at all! Our guests loved The Palms, too. Eva Chandler(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-04-2010 I absolutely loved the end result. The wedding was beautiful. Everyone had a great time, loved the food, the setting, the hotel. The staff I worked with in planning my wedding was a disaster. The coordinator in charge of my account changed several times, but nobody informed me of the change. At the rehearsal, the coordinator was rude to my bridal party and seemed rushed and aggravated. The morning of the wedding we were supposed to have our rooms early for the hair and makeup people to get set up, but the rooms were not available, so we were late getting started and ended up having to pay the girls overtime. The staff at the reception forgot to bring out our groom's cake, so that was a waste. Reviewed on 16-09-2010
