THE PENNSYLVANIAN Reviews
Shannon Baron(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-08-2022 The Pennsylvanian is UNDOUBTABLY one of THE MOST GORGEOUS event venues in Pittsburgh. We had our wedding here in summer 2022 and it was a truly magical space and an amazing day! Our guests loved the cocktail hour in the breathtaking rotunda and then the sheer opulence of the grand hall area speaks for itself. However, having a wedding here though does come with certain difficulties. Namely, the costs were much higher than expected. The budgeting numbers provided for both the preferred catering and rental fees were higher than anticipated. (Also as a side note, we primarily selected the lowest of the rental options, so we can’t imagine the cost had we selected higher premium items!). On top of the high costs, everything has to be set up after noon the day of the wedding and removed in one-hour post-wedding (or else you are fined) which is a huge logistical undertaking and will require hiring additional help over and above your coordinator/wedding planner to assist in the tear-down process. Since the venue is essentially a blank space, you have the ability to customize everything to be exactly how you want it which we greatly appreciated, but it does mean that you (and your planner) will be coordinating with many different vendors. The wedding event directors at the Pennsylvanian were somewhat helpful, but not overly accommodating or friendly. All in all, we loved having our wedding here and it was the perfect day, but we would not recommend it for budget conscientious couples or those that are not detail-oriented. Reviewed on 29-10-2022
Eric Schiemer(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-11-2021 The Pennsylvanian has become one of my favorite venues in Pittsburgh to DJ weddings... the credit for this goes entirely to Megan and Melissa who work tirelessly to make sure their couples enjoy the best day of their lives. As a wedding professional myself, I take comfort in working at a venue that loves its clients as much as I do.I've seen Megan and Melissa go above and beyond to meet every guest's needs. Even while families are stressed, they're able to resolve issues and get things done all with a wonderfully positive attitude. The Grand Hall at The Pennsylvanian is one of the most gorgeous venues in the city. Add in their amazing staff and I can't imagine a better place for anyone to hold their wedding! Maeve Hogel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-03-2021 The Pennsylvanian was our saving grace during the pandemic and I couldn't recommend it enough. We originally planned our wedding at a different venue, but had to change it about 2 months out because of Covid capacity restrictions. Megan was so easy to work with and the space itself is absolutely stunning. We are so thankful to Megan for helping us pull off our dream wedding on such short notice! Reviewed on 15-06-2021

Megan and Melissa were truly amazing in helping us plan our perfect wedding. We had many last minute changes in plans which they couldn’t have been better at accommodating. Brooke Suszynski(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-08-2020 Megan and Melissa are absolute rock stars!! We switched venues about 45 days before our wedding and they worked so hard for us! I like to say they helped us plan 3.5 weddings because of the constant changes made with COVID restrictions (indoor to outdoor, 145 guests to 50 guests, etc). They were kind, caring, hard-working, detail- oriented and efficient. They knew what to do, when to do it and how to do it! We could not be more thankful to the two of them for helping our day go off without a hitch!! We had the most perfect day and it was all thanks to them!! Reviewed on 10-08-2020
Ashley Huiras(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-07-2020 I cannot day enough amazing things about The Pennsylvanian. We got married July 24, 2020 after having to postpone our original date from May 22, 2020. Being a bride during a pandemic is NO JOKE and may be the most stress I’ve ever felt in my life. However, Megan was truly amazing throughout the whole process. The Pennsylvanian was my dream venue and I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Megan made it work. She also kept me calm and sane throughout the entire postponing process and 2 months of “what if’s” during quarantine. Two weeks before our wedding, our guest count had to be reduced from 150 to 50 and had to be outside due to Allegheny County Covid Restrictions. I was so nervous about how it would look, how it would work, where would everything go, all of the things. Megan MADE IT HAPPEN. Both her and Melissa went above and beyond to make sure everything went off perfectly. They worked with all my vendors to come up with the best possible scenario for our day. Our wedding ended up being a DREAM COME TRUE. Literally perfect.... even with only 50 people. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception went so smoothly and I was able to finally relax and enjoy my day! Long story short, get married here and hire Megan and Melissa to help with Day Of Coordination! You won’t regret it! Reviewed on 06-08-2020

They were attentive, mindful and always available which made planning a lot easier. You will not be disappointed if you choose The Pennsylvanian - especially with the gorgeous photos under the rotunda (I highly recommend adding the up lighting inside as well as outside to really enhance the look - I worked with Amanda at EF Lighting and she was great!). The Pennsylvanian was the wedding venue of my dreams and I can truly say that the only thing I would have changed was renting more time! From the day of services to planning / vendor coordination, the service provided was outstanding! The rotunda is seriously everything I ever dreamed of! Lee G.(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-07-2019 We held both our ceremony and reception at The Pennsylvanian. We had a beautiful day that allowed us to have a stunning ceremony under the rotunda. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour under the rotunda too. And we held the reception, for about 100, inside the grand hall. Melissa and Dana were fabulous to work with. They allowed us to drop off day-of items early, they delivered bags to our guests staying in the onsite rental units, and they helped facilitate better communication with Lyric (the rental company for our guests) -- all above and beyond. The only downfall is the exclusive agreements with some of the vendors. We went with an outside caterer and had to pay a fee. And we used the preferred rental company and were sadly disappointed with their service. Reviewed on 07-08-2019

Megan & Dana were so easy to work with, and really made us feel special! We had a lot of last minute requests and they were so helpful and supportive. From the architecture, staff, decor, vendors, and creative options, it was the perfect venue for us. I can't say enough good things about this venue and their staff. Megan was an absolute gem to work with and went above and beyond her job description to make the day run smoothly. They were easy to deal with before the big day and answered emails and phone calls promptly. The big day arrived and they were so accommodating in making changes last minute, offering suggestions and keeping things running on time. Elizabeth Cosentino(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2018 The Pennsylvanian is truly a spectacular venue. It is unique and elegant, and we received many compliments from our guests. As mentioned in another review, everything here has to be brought in from outside vendors. This includes food, alcohol, chairs, linens, etc. so there is more coordination required than other venues. Annie Greiner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2017 The Pennsylvanian is just breathtaking. It is the hidden gem of Pittsburgh venues. Growing up in Pittsburgh, I knew little about The Pennsylvanian, besides the fact that it had been converted into apartments. It was through social media that I saw a photo of a wedding there, and I was in such awe. When we got engaged, The Pennsylvanian was at the top of our list of venues and as soon as we walked in, we KNEW. The ambiance is extraordinary and not something you can re-create in any ballroom or other venue in Pittsburgh. Even though the onus of the coordination falls onto the bride & groom, the suggested vendors know the venue well enough that everything falls right into place. Our wedding day was magical. I can't tell you how many guests freely commented that it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to and/or didn't realize how beautiful The Pennsylvanian was. I promise, The Pennsylvanian will NOT disappoint! Reviewed on 29-06-2017
