The Pfister Hotel has established a tradition of elegance for Milwaukee's most discriminating brides and grooms. With Victorian art, chandeliers and storybook event spaces such as the uniquely elegant Imperial Ballroom and stately, sophisticated Grand Ballroom, a Pfister wedding is a sight to behold
Our winter wedding reception at The Pfister was all we had imagined and more. We were very fortunate to work with Mickey Skrede and his team at The Pfister. The entire night was beautiful and seamless. The holiday decorations in the lobby and ballroom were the perfect backdrop for a winter, holiday wedding. Mickey and his team provided an exquisite dining experience for our guests. We received many compliments, on the whole evening. Mickey made sure that all of our requests were met, and he kept us informed every step of the way. We loved our wedding at The Pfister. We make regular return visits, for dinner or drinks, to re-live the memory. Thanks again, Mickey! Reviewed on 12-01-2024

My husband and I got married on 5/27/23 in the Rouge Room at the Pfister. We live in California and the Pfister made it very easy to plan a wedding from out of state. We did the Ruby package and felt it was a great deal for what we got. The Pfister also arranged complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to be delivered to our room both evenings of our stay, which was such a sweet surprise for us! Everything was so professional and spot on. We got exactly the wedding that we planned for. We did not hire a wedding planner and didn’t have a same day coordinator either. We had vendors familiar with the venue. It all went off without a hitch and I didn’t need to worry about anything. The space that me and my girls got ready in at the hotel was huge with great natural lighting. You reserve it with your event manager in advance. We had it the entire day of the wedding. I had 9 bridesmaids and 2 moms getting ready in the room with me and there were 5 makeup/hair people. Not an easy feat to have a space big enough but the Pfister did it. There was ample space and outlets for everyone. The Rouge Room itself is beautiful and needed no extra decor or big bouquets for the wedding/reception. The room was so intricate that we kept it all lowkey and didn’t need to add much. It’s also a 3 min drive from the lake so we got outdoor photos with an indoor venue. We hired a van with a driver from a bus company for $275 to get us with all the fam and wedding party to the lake during cocktail hour for the photos and back again. So you do not have to sacrifice a gorgeous outdoor photoshoot just because the Pfister is an indoor venue. You can do both! It was the best day of our lives and everything was perfect. We had our wedding September 2023 in the Imperial Ballroom at the Pfister. I cannot recommend having a wedding there enough. The day went so smoothly and everything was set up perfectly. Our wedding coordinator, Mickey, was so helpful when making decisions and coordinating with our outside vendors. The value is also well worth it. We went with the Ruby package and were very happy we did. The food and drinks were phenomenal and there was so much for our guests. The location was also perfect for taking so many great MKE photos before our off-site ceremony at our church. I would also recommend using the Wells Spa for hair and makeup and using the Orchid room. They did a wonderful job and it was a great spot for the bridesmaids to have breakfast while the guys had breakfast at the Cafe at the Pfister. The bridal suite was also huge and so nice. They even had it ready early enough on our wedding day that the guys could all get ready together in there. The Pfister is perfect for anyone looking for a traditional, downtown wedding. Our wedding was 9/3/23 and it was one of the most incredible weekends of our lives. The Pfister served as a gorgeous backdrop to the weekend, and if we could do it all again we would absolutely host our wedding there with no hesitation at all. A few notes as to why:-Event Coordination: We booked our wedding date around 1.5 years in advance, and admittedly throughout that process there were some staffing changes that led to some miscommunications that collectively had us a bit nervous. However, in retrospect, that might have had more to do with how far we booked ahead. Regardless: Emily Kucek, our coordinator with the venue, was SO kind, SO helpful, and SO organized from the time we started working with her to our special day. We were planning from out of town (NYC), and she helped us organize everything at a distance and schedule our tasting when we would be in town visiting family so that we felt confident about everything day of. -Hotel and Event Staff: From the moment we arrived, every staff member we worked with was so kind to us and helped us with anything we could need. A standout moment was when I left my cell phone on the front desk the morning of the wedding, didn't realize I was missing it, and a kind man from the bell stand (should've gotten his name) hand delivered it to the room we were getting ready in (without judgement, lol). -Hotel: My guests, most of whom were from out of state, raved about how beautiful the hotel was, how nice the accommodations were, and the staff. As an added bonus, when we checked in we were shocked to find that our suite was upgraded to the most beautiful hotel room I've seen ever and surely the nicest one I will ever stay in. What a surprise!!! -Ballroom: We used the Imperial Ballroom, freshly renovated. our guest count was just under 100 in the end, and it was arranged beautifully to feel spacious and elegant but not at all empty. The renovations are lovely, it's still a historic beauty but refreshed. As sunset begins to happen and the soft lighting is turned on... breathtaking. If I can attach a picture I will. -Food and Drinks: Great! And lots of options to accommodate different needs for the event, the day of, and different dietary preferences or requirements. My husband and I are foodies and I am a vegetarian so really good food for everyone was a high priority, and our expectations were met. Side note: the butternut squash soup.... my god. I need the recipe. -Other notes: Emily was able to procure us space in the hotel for a rehearsal, as well as for the girls to get ready day-of. These were both perfect spaces for the occasion. Pro-tip: we ordered catering ahead of time through Emily to feed me and my bridesmaids, and it was awesome and so convenient. Really helped the day go smoothly as we didn't have to leave to get food or assign anyone to bring it in, etc. On that note, I'll close with that: our day went incredibly smoothly and everyone at the Pfister made that possible. My husband and I remain grateful and now the Pfister will be a place we are always eager to return to when we are in Milwaukee. *Note: photos attached by DeGroot Film Co (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) Reviewed on 28-10-2023

A phenomenal venue for a wedding!! We truly could not have asked for a more perfect wedding at The Pfister. We rented the Imperial Ballroom for a 140-person wedding and held both the ceremony and cocktail/dinner reception there. The ballroom is absolutely stunning and perfect for a timeless, elegant event. The Pfister has everything you need to make your day perfect, and if they don’t have it, they will make sure to get it for you. The team at The Pfister handled everything from set-up to room flip to take-down. The staff were so great and made sure our guests were taken care of. We worked with Mickey throughout the planning process and he answered all of our questions, which there were many. Mickey was also present day-of to make sure things went according to schedule, including coordination of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and a multi-course meal. The food was extremely important to us and is unlike any other “wedding food” - it is elevated and there are so many options to choose from, along with a beautifully put together wedding tasting to help you choose. Many guests told us it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding! The amenities at The Pfister are also amazing! All our guests were able to book rooms in our reserved block and enjoy everything The Pfister has to offer, including the top-floor martini bar, lobby bar, restaurant, etc. Best decision we ever made having our wedding at The Pfister! Overall there were some issues with the venue but the Pfister Hotel was very professional in addressing these when they were presented to management. The assigned wedding coordinator for the Pfister failed to show up for our final walk-through and planning meeting the weekend prior to the wedding, in addition to multiple other issues, which prompted management to bring in a more seasoned person to coordinate the final details. This person was extremely professional and made sure that every detail was handled. Mickey is a true professional who is very passionate about this role and made it a magical day!Outside of these issues everything else was handled very well:-The initial food-tasting event was a great event in itself, multiple members of management were on staff in one of the ballrooms to answer any questions and allow you and multiple other guests of your choosing to sample the full menu of options (which is very large). -Food quality is top notch and the multi-course package added a touch of elegance that our guests will not forget. -Bar service was very generous with drinks for our guests and more than willing to accommodate requests. -The venue itself is spectacular and the Pfister was able to accommodate keeping Christmas decor in the lobby through our wedding weekend of January 21st which really elevated the experience.-The staff was all very professional and did an excellent job assisting our guests and making sure that were treated very well on our big day. Overall I would highly recommend this venue if it fits your vision of a wedding. Management is very professional and the venue is very elegant. The majority of our guests have not visited Milwaukee previously and staying at this hotel is a memory that is still discussed at every family get-together. Reviewed on 07-10-2023

My wife and I recently had our wedding reception at the Pfister and Jody was our onsite consultant. The Pfister overall and Jody in particular were amazing to work with. For starters, our wedding was in the Imperial ballroom and it was the most beautiful venue we could have imagined. It was such a beautiful room that we actually were able to save some money because we didn’t need to spend as much on flowers or other decorations to make it pretty, it just was naturally. The service was great as well. It was very obvious that the entire wait staff was very accustomed to working large gatherings and especially weddings. I am still hearing from several of our guests about how impressed they were with the level of service that they received at the reception. The food is another thing that we still get positive feedback about from our guests. We had the beef and chicken but based on what we saw at the tasting we could have had any of the options and they all would have been incredible. Combining the quality of food with the elite level of service made the reception everything that we hoped it would be for our guests.Obviously when you are planning a wedding most of your stress comes in all of the preparation. That is where Jody was so great to have on our team. From day one she was incredibly helpful when it came to showing us the venue to laying out our different pricing options. Her level of professionalism and know-how made it very obvious that she has done this many times before. It was such a relief to have her to help us figure out details to the plan that we would have never known existed otherwise.Besides her professionalism, which was unmatched, Jody was amazing to work with. She was always smiling through every step of the process and somehow knew exactly how to mix in plenty of fun while not letting us stray too far off task. I wish I could think of more great things to say about Jody because we were so unbelievably happy with how she was to work with. Nicole Irland(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2011 Its so hard to rate The Pfister because there were amazing parts and some things I was slightly upset about. We overall had an amazing wedding and I wouldn't change it for the world. The food was fantastic, the servers were amazing, I love the historic architecture and look of the entire hotel which is mostly why we had held it there. It just can't be beat if your looking for a historical landmark. And all of our guests had an amazing experience. BUT and there are a few buts... we rented out The Rouge room and had a band which our planner knew for over 10 months, the night of our wedding the security guard told us our band was disturbing other guests and really made a big deal out of it. In my opinion we were spending a lot of money to be there on a night we had been planning for ever, if their guests were disturbed they should of handled it in another way. We then decided to have the band play longer and the security guard actually turned the lights on and told them NO! I felt like we were at a frat party and we were getting in trouble. It was so unprofessional and completely inexcusable. To make matters even worse no one ever apologized to me or even followed up to see how the night went, they pretty much took the money and didn't care if we were happy with how things turned out. Our planner was also a bit all over the place at times, I felt like she didn't always know what was going on with our wedding. I would give very specific instructions on a few things and it was as if nobody listened to me. And we lost several cards due to nobody knowing where the card box was when our planner said she would be directing everyone to where it was. So a few irritating things, mostly due to lack of planning it seems. But again I wouldn't of had it anywhere else, we love that building hope they get some things straightened out though.
