We had our wedding at the Preston barn on 9/30/23 and it was absolutely the best decision we made in the entire wedding process. We were completely blown away the first time we visited and we knew it was our dream venue. Helene is so incredible, from the first visit through the wedding day she was so helpful, kind and patient with any questions we had. She really made us feel so special and heard throughout the planning. If I could give Helene 1000 stars I would!We loved having a full wedding weekend on site and it was so special to have our bridal party and parents stay with us onsite in the Inn and Carriage House. We had our Rehearsal Dinner onsite as well as an after party in the Tavern and Sunday brunch and it was so awesome to celebrate in the same location all weekend. The Inn-Keeper, Jeff, is amazing and so accomodating. He made us feel so welcome!The food the entire weekend was top tier and we still have guests telling us how good it was! The passed apps at cocktail hour were incredible and the staff even set up a table to the side of our ceremony with all the apps we selected as well as our signature cocktails to enjoy a private toast with our bridal party and parents right after the ceremony before we headed to cocktail hour. We did a family style dinner which we are still getting compliments on because it gave guests the opportunity to try multiple options and connect with one another while passing around the plates. The dance floor is huge and we had an amazing time dancing the night away with our friends and family. There is also a firepit which we brought s'mores supplies for and guests were able to take a break from dancing and hang out by the fire as they pleased.The vibe of the whole property is immaculate, from the 18th century Inn to the modern rustic barn, it's just such a cool spot and unique from many of the ballroom weddings we had attended. We absolutely loved planning our wedding here and the venue really brought our vision and dream to life. We highly recommend having your wedding here!

Helene and staff at the Preston Barn were nothing short of amazing. My husband and I got married 11/4/23 and we couldn't have asked for a better or smoother day. Everything went wonderfully. They were so accommodating to all our needs from food allergies to grandparent accessibility. They were there every step of the way. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to get married!

We couldn’t be happier that we selected The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn for our Daughter’s wedding, November 2023. Helene and her team were amazing! She covered everything and took all the stress away. We also took advantage of the on-site Inn and Cottage and we were so pleased we did! The venue is absolutely beautiful and our guests are still raving about the wonderful meal that was served. The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn is definitely 10 stars!

Going into the wedding planning process Blake and I were hesitant to choose The Preston Barn as our venue because my family’s company (Taylor Oil) has used the venue many times for work functions and parties. Nonetheless, when it came time for Helene and her team, to create our vision of the grounds, the barn and the accommodations, they knocked it out of the park! Everything down to the intimate reception details, the delicious food, the genuine care of the guests and overall communication was the best of the best. Being able to stay on site for the entire weekend was one of the best parts because it genuinely made us feel like we were the only party in town! Helene was a great leader and resource for us throughout the entire process and she really took the time to understand our wants and needs. We were also very fortunate for the weather because we could not have asked for a more perfect June wedding day than what we got. All the beautiful flowers and decorations aside with the gorgeous weather, the grounds themselves were absolutely breathtaking. Blake and I cannot wait to go back for future anniversaries and enjoy more of that delicious food and inviting small town, comfort that the Preston Barn and Old Drover’s provided us!

Helene is absolutely amazing! From the very first tour we took at the Preston Barn, Helene made us feel so at ease and comfortable. She is a big part of what makes the Preston Barn special. It is a gorgeous venue with rustic charm, the wonderful staff made the Preston Barn rise above every other venue we considered. They took care of every detail with thoughtfulness to make the day run smoothly and beautifully! We just celebrated our one year anniversary at Old Drovers Inn. It was perfect! Randy and our waitress both wished us a Happy Anniversary. The Preston Barn was such a wonderful venue. It was the perfect day, thanks to the staff, especially Helene. Helene was absolutely amazing; she's extremely thorough, professional, knowledgeable and her timely communications made the process seamless . The venue was everything we wanted and more!!! Stunning food, beautiful landscapes, which were excellently maintained, and easily customizable for each wedding theme. Finding a barn venue with handicap accessibility was hard, we had older guests that were able to get around the venue comfortably. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!!!

My husband and I celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary recently with a wonderful party at The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn and I am still over the moon with happiness over how perfect everything was. It's a beautiful setting with lots of room inside and outdoor seating with a lovely fire pit if someone wants to go out to sit and listen to the music from inside or visit with others. Choosing our menu and other details went very smoothly with Helene's help. All of the staff were easy to work with from start to finish. We felt relaxed and confident that everything we wanted was being quietly and efficiently taken care of. We had a truly wonderful time and couldn't be happier with our choice of venue.

Helene and the rest of the team at Old Drovers Inn are amazing! They made my brothers wedding day unforgettable from the tastefully decorated room (we had the Federal Room) to the food menu and impeccable service. And they did all of this with only 7 days notice. I cannot say enough about how they went above and beyond for our small intimate family gathering. I will definitely use them again and again for small and large events.

Our experience hosting our company's event at The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn was beyond what we could have anticipated! Helene, who helped plan our event, was extremely accommodating and professional while remaining grounded and so friendly! A beautiful place to have a very heart-centered event. We had a magical wedding night at ODI. The forest is stunning for pics, old Inn is charming, balcony at bridal suite perfect for hair & makeup, house across the street accommodating for bridal party, food great, barn fantastic for our party. A logistical hiccup with accidentally locked room during the ceremony, but generally weekend-of staff was accommodating and helpful. My wedding planner (separate and not affiliated with ODI) was not very friendly to my vendors, so the staff being sweet was a welcome contrast. Be sure to communicate your needs clearly and confirm. Was nice to have the full weekend there for rehearsal and final checks the night before. Fire was a nice touch for my guests, cocktail hour food was good, bar was fun (so I hear, I was too busy bride-ing...). Stone Church hike a couple of miles away is a lovely romantic bonus, and town hall for our marriage license is quaint and friendly. Family and I highly recommend :)

My wife and I were married at the Preston Barn in June of 2022 and the experience could not have been better. The venue itself is phenomenal, the buildings, grounds, landscaping, as well as interior space, including a fantastic bar, were perfect. We worked directly with Helene and her team they made every decision easier for us along the way. We really could not have asked for a more beautiful or smooth event, and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a venue that the Preston Barn should be at the very top of your list.

We can’t recommend The Preston Barn enough! Helene and team were incredibly helpful from day 1 of booking the venue. We had a very unique wedding weekend with both Indian and American ceremonies and traditions to be worked in and they helped us figure out the best solutions to have the perfect wedding celebration that allowed us to incorporate everything we hoped for! Helene was always responsive and solution-oriented throughout the year+ of planning, making note of every detail we discussed in person and via email. Donna, Randy, and the entire staff on-site were incredibly welcoming and attentive to detail, making sure that not only did our dual ceremony & reception go off without a hitch, but our families staying at Old Drover’s Inn had everything they needed all weekend. We chose to have our rehearsal dinner at the Barn as well, which made it a true family weekend getaway complete with smores around the fire pit. The Preston Barn was the first venue that caught our eye while looking and we are so thrilled we chose it for our wedding – we couldn’t have done all of the wedding events we ended up planning anywhere else…having the venue and on-site accommodations all weekend made everything not only possible but incredibly streamlined! We are so grateful to Helene, Donna, and everyone at The Preston Barn/Old Drover’s Inn for making our wedding weekend a magical affair we and all of our guests will remember for years to come.

My husband and I met while both working at Dover High School, which is minutes away from The Preston Barn. We had been to the site before for brunch, happy hour and dinner. After getting engaged, we quickly booked The Preston Barn because of the significance of the location, Dover, has in our relationship and also for the warmth we felt every time we stepped into the rustic, lit up barn. From the stone curved pathway, charming quaint inn, relaxing adirondack chairs and breath taking barn, this was where we wanted to start our forever. Helene, Donna and the rest of the staff at The Preston Barn made us feel special in every way. The toast with our immediate family right after our ceremony was a sweet touch. We appreciated how our cards were handled with care (cellophane wrapped). All of our guests commented on how attentive the staff was, from when we arrived Friday afternoon, to when we left Sunday morning. The staff truly went above and beyond. We spent the weekend without a single worry, knowing everything was taken care of. We will be forever grateful to have gotten married at The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn!

The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn is a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley. The minute we saw this glorious setting, we knew it was for us. The grounds are simply beautiful. Acres of beauty for us to enjoy the ENTIRE wedding weekend. This is the most picturesque of venues and I haven’t even mentioned the barn. The barn was breath taking; beautiful, exposed wood, with a large space making it the perfect space for the reception. What makes this venue so special is that it’s a one stop shop kind of place; we had our rehearsal dinner at the Old Drovers Inn restaurant on site and all the wedding/cocktail food was sources on site, and let me say, the food was AMAZING. Our guests raved about it for days. Lots of options and customizable too. They were very accommodating to my guests with allergies. Helene and the whole staff was so great to work with. Every question was answered by the patient and attentive staff. They all helped to make our wedding day perfect! Run, don’t walk to book this one of a kind special place for your wedding.

The Preston Barn was the perfect venue to bring our dream wedding to life! Everything about it was just amazing and exceeded my expectations. The elegant, rustic style of the barn was gorgeous and we loved dancing the night away underneath the twinkle lights. The food was absolutely delicious and is something that our guests raved about! We were able to have a bon fire with smores and a sparkler exit at night which were beautiful touches that the venue helped us execute. After our wedding ended, the fun didn't stop! We had so much fun with our bridal party for an afterparty in the Tavern. We loved staying at the beautiful Inn and Carriage house with our family and bridal party and enjoyed having breakfast on property with them the next morning.Helene, the wedding coordinator, does an amazing job. She made us feel so supported throughout the entire planning process and frequently checked in with us to see how things were going. Day of our wedding when we had a few hiccups (rain and buses not arriving), Helene was there to quickly and efficiently smooth things over without missing a beat. She made sure our wedding day ran seamlessly and that we did not have to worry about anything.Additionally, we were originally supposed to get married in the Spring of 2020 when COVID hit. Although having our wedding postponed at that time was a harsh reality, Helene and the staff at The Preston Barn handled this situation with grace, supported us, and worked with us to ensure that everything still turned out perfectly in the end. We truly appreciated how kind they were to us during such uncertain times. The Preston Barn and the beautiful wedding memories it gave us will forever hold a special place in our hearts. From start to finish, our wedding weekend was more than we could have dreamed of. Almost a year later, we continue to get countless complements on our wedding! My husband and I plan to go back to celebrate our first wedding anniversary there this year and hope to make this a tradition for many years to come!

This venue and the wedding coordinator blew me away. If you are looking for an all in one venue that includes catering, ceremony location, and overnight accommodations, look no further. From the moment I drove into the parking lot and walked into the venue to meet Helene, I was BLOWN AWAY! The venue was absolutely gorgeous from the inside out. My wedding was in October and the idea of a barn wedding was my dream and The Preston Barn did not disappoint! The bed and breakfast at Old Drovers Inn which is walking distance to the venue was absolutely stunning. This was a huge plus for me because I had a lot of family out of state, and I loved the idea of celebrating our wedding for the whole weekend! The bed and breakfasts, dining area, rooms, bathroom, EVERYTHING was absolutely beautiful and the up-kept rustic feel was everything I was looking for. There was enough space for everyone, the staff was so accommodating to all of my family, and the breakfast every morning was delicious!Helene is the wedding coordinator for Preston Barn and when I tell you she is amazing, it is no exaggeration. She helped me from the beginning of planning to the end and she was there every step of the way and knew the answer to every question I had- even before I even knew to ask, she kept everything organized and on track, she even kept in contact with all of the vendors I hired as well. She made the planning process and the day of my wedding stress free and I could not have done it without her! She and her staff made sure everything we wanted came to life, she even packaged our cake and ceremony items and delivered it to the B&B! We also booked The Preston Barn for our rehearsal dinner which was so convenient for us to stay on site after the ceremony rehearsal and we got to use the fire pit on site! Another addition was the after party in the Old Drovers Inn walking distance from the venue (on the main floor of the B&B) and that was so amazing! The bartender was great, the aesthetic in there was also so perfect and there was plenty of room for those that wanted to keep the party going. From beginning to end in every aspect my husband and I's experience was unmatched and I could not recommend this venue enough, it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding!

The Preston Barn was truly the best decision that my husband and I made when planning our wedding. The Preston Barn was the only venue we ended up seeing in person because from the moment we stepped inside we knew it was the one. Helene was so helpful and professional from the very first meeting. She suggested incredible vendors and had an experienced answer/suggestion for everything. We got married in December and the barn was decorated so beautifully (we probably received 10 Christmas cards from guests who took their picture at the wedding because the tree was so beautiful!). The food is exceptional and we received so many comments from guests saying it was the best wedding meal they have ever had. Every aspect of the wedding ran so smoothly and we were able to really enjoy being with our guests. I would HIGHLY suggest paying the Preston Barn a visit if you are looking for a wedding venue, I am sure they will blow you away!

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for an absolutely extraordinary experience! We cannot thank Helene and the entire team at Preston Barn enough for everything they did to make our special day so magical! First, you cannot ask for a more beautiful venue and setting for a wedding! The Preston Barn does an incredible job of blending together the stunning beauty of its natural setting with the rustic feel of a barn venue all while delivering pure elegance and class from start to finish. In addition, as a same sex couple, my husband and I were beyond thrilled to not only be treated with respect but to also feel fully embraced, included, and supported throughout the entire process. Helene is a phenomenal event and venue coordinator and took special care, time, and attention to make sure that we fully understood all the options that the Preston Barn had to offer and worked with us to craft the perfect wedding weekend! The entire planning process, site visits, tastings, and final details were all part of what became a truly meaningful and pleasurable experience. There truly are no words for how incredible the experience was, from the exquisite accommodations as the Old Drovers Inn, Carriage House, Preston House, and Mountain Cabin, to the staff support as we completed final wedding preparations and rehearsals, the absolutely delicious rehearsal dinner handsomely setup in the Federal Dining Room, the amazing opportunity to meet and greet arriving guests at the firepit, the seamless execution of the ceremony and reception, the extremely fun VIP after party in the Tap Room, and the wonderful farewell brunch the day after! What was most important to us as we planned our wedding, was to be able to bring together our beloved family and friends so that we could provide them with a delightful experience while having true quality time together celebrating the beginning of our married journey together, and the Preston Barn more than delivered on that dream! At the end of it all, both of us and our guests were beyond pleased, and the Preston Barn and team will always hold a very special place in our hearts! Looking forward to going back to visit again soon!

From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank Helene and her staff enough!!!! We are still smiling (3 months later) after our truly amazing wedding weekend. Helene and the Barn staff always went above and beyond for us starting with our initial emails, walkthrough, up until our goodbye brunch. You will feel like family throughout this process :). All of the guests had such amazing things to say as well, especially about the grounds and the food. Being able to have our families and the bridal party stay at the Carriage House, Inn and surrounding property was a huge bonus and allowed us all to make the most of the property and its amenities. We had our rehearsal at the Tap Room which was also wonderful and great if you love historic spots. Thank you to The Preston Barn for being so accommodating, patient and kind. We don’t know how you do this every weekend! The Barn will always hold a unique place in our hearts :).

Helene and her team at The Preston Barn were amazing. The day (and the whole wedding weekend) went so smoothly. They know exactly what they are doing and how to make the experience enjoyable for everyone. They go above and beyond there. After a hurricane came and it poured on our rehearsal dinner, we made the decision to have the ceremony in the tent. Day of, the sky cleared and it was beautiful. Her team took down the tent walls and set up cocktail hour outside. It was exactly what we wanted! We had so many compliments on the food and drinks. We chose a buffet and we are so glad we did. Breakfast at the inn was also delicious and the accommodations were fantastic. Highly recommend this venue!!

My husband and I got married at the Preston Barn on April 30th, 2022 and, let me tell you, it was everything we dreamed of and more. From the rustic/elegant vibes right down to the food, everything was literally amazing. We met with the event coordinator, Helene, about a year and a half before our wedding day and since that first meeting with her she was more than accommodating to every question and every need we had. We had our ceremony outside on the most perfect day. Followed by cocktail hour on the patio and then our reception in the barn and it was all so beautiful. THE FOOD! we still have people that came to our wedding tell us how great the food was and how amazing the wait staff was. We have actually brought our family out to the restaurant a few times before and after our wedding because the food is just THAT good. We also stayed in the Old Drovers in the night before and the night of our wedding and it was perfect. We all got ready there the morning of which made the start of the day so easy. We also rented 2 of the other houses that they have available so that we could have family and friends stay the night of the wedding if they wanted to. Its an all in one package and I would chose them all over again if I had to. My husband and I plan to go back to the restaurant to celebrated out anniversary each year!

We had our wedding at the Preston Barn this past Sept. The weekend was perfect from start to finish, I don’t even know how to write a review that could possibly describe how much we loved this venue & the staff, but I will try! The barn is gorgeous, it has a rustic “vibe” but is extremely elegant & has all the comforts of a catering hall (AC/ heat, a fully stocked bar, bathrooms, chairs/ tables/ linens, on-site catering, etc…).The grounds are beautiful & offer up many different locations for an outdoor ceremony as well as a beautiful backdrop for pictures. The Old Drovers Inn (& Carriage House) are very historic but still offer up all the comforts of a modern hotel (renovated bathrooms, heat/ AC, TV’s, wifi, etc). We loved having our closest friends/ family on site for the entire wedding weekend, it made it so special & stress-free. It was nice sitting by the fire after our guests left at the end of the ceremony, having an opportunity to reminisce & wind-down with our immediate family. Plus having access to the barn the next day meant we didn’t have to rush to clean things up or gather our belongings at the end of a long wedding day. Jeff (the groundskeeper) was AMAZING, he went above & beyond to make sure we enjoying the weekend – from serving breakfast the morning of the wedding & day after (which was DELICIOUS), to setting up fresh scones and tea/ coffee in the common areas, stocking the fridges with water, helping to set up our mimosa bar for the bridal party - he truly did it all! Our family could not (& still cannot) stop raving about how amazing he was & how much they enjoyed the weekend. On the day of the wedding, we had our ceremony on the lawn followed by cocktail hour on the patio. We were told by countless guests how much they LOVED the food & specialty cocktails. We loved having an outdoor space for the kids to run around, a place to set up yard games, & a fire pit for guests to cozy up to. When it came time to move into the barn it took my breath away, lit up by the string lights & candles with floral accents on each table, it looked like a scene out of a movie. The food was amazing but the service was even better. Every time I finished my water or drink someone was there filling it up. Every time we got up from our table someone was there folding our napkins. Every time I needed something (anything) someone was right there asking how they could help. The staff made our entire day /weekend so enjoyable! I would like to specifically mention Helene, our day of coordinator and a huge reason why we booked this venue. From the first time we toured the property we knew Helene was special - she was always there to answer our questions, guide us through the process, & made sure that from the moment we arrived on Fri we didn’t have to worry about anything. She coordinated between vendors, made sure everything was set up exactly how we wanted it, & was there for us throughout the morning of the wedding/ ceremony making sure everything went according to plan (& everyone was in the right place at the right time). We also want to mention Donna, Amy, & Louis who were there for us the entire night making sure we were happy & comfortable! They were so attentive & accommodating, I can not begin to do them justice in a review but will say if you want the best service of your life, book the Preston Barn. I could go on & on - this venue, the staff, the grounds, the Inn are AMAZING. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t change a thing!

We threw my father a surprise birthday party with 30 guests in July 2022, and the whole process from start to finish could not have been better. The coordinator was communicative right up until we finally met in person at the event, the staff were not only helpful and efficient, but they helped us with the surprise! We were under the tent with access to the barn, the space is beautiful. A number of our guests (myself included) stayed at the inn, many have already booked a return trip. Everything was amazing. Helene was a great communicator since I was coming from out of state. She helped show my mom and sister around since I wasn't able to be there in person. She made sure I found the perfect spot for our ceromony, which was in Preston Barn, which was GORGEOUS. If I had a bigger wedding party I wouldn't have had everything happen there. I however had a tiny wedding and chose the Federal Room in Old Drovers. Absolutely beautiful building and details. The food was also amazing and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Getting g married here is a dream come true. I highly recommend.

Preston Barn is an incredible wedding venue! I don’t know where to start, but we were married there on New Year’s Eve, and everything was beyond our wildest expectations. We held a 50 person, indoor wedding and had everything in the barn- the ceremony, reception, dinner, dancing, you name it- and the barn was able to hold everything beautifully, and the space felt so special and different for each part of the day. Every step of the process was seamless, and was aided by their incredible in house planner, Helene. She is very attentive, calm and creative, and always makes you feel supported throughout the process. We also hired a wedding planner to help with planning on our end, and they worked together amazingly and helped pull together the best day ever.The venue also has everything you need- beautiful tables, chairs, tableware, etc., which takes a ton of stress off, and also helps you create the day you want without having to bring in a lot of outside odds and ends (and helps with budget!). The food was also amazing, and our guests are still talking about everything, including the passed appetizers! In additional to loving the barn, we also were excited to choose the venue because of the Drover’s Inn- not only because of the amazing location (and countless photo opps inside), it was amazing to have 20+ guests essentially on site with us in the Inn and the other building on site- the rooms are charming and very comfortable, and I’m still dreaming about the breakfast they served in the mornings. We also fell in love with the venue knowing that we could host the rehearsal at the restaurant at the Drover’s Inn, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and the venue was intimate, cozy, and beautiful. And the excellent service continued even after the wedding- the day after the event, Helene was there to make sure the cleanup went smoothly and helped donate items that we no longer needed to a local woman’s shelter. And to say nothing of the amazing drinks and attentive service of Randy and his staff! It was a magical weekend and they made us feel like family, and we can’t wait to go back and celebrate each year for our anniversary! My advice would be to get married at the Preston Barn (no question!), and a few weeks before the big day, when you are in the height of the wedding planning stress, go have dinner at the Inn, enjoy the beauty of the venue, chat with the amazing staff, have an A+ drink from Randy, and remember that they have everything taken care of!

Love at fist sight is how we would describe the Preston Barn! Since the moment we stepped in at this venue we were captivated by its rustic charm yet elegant and modern look. Its beautiful grounds are well maintained, offer spotless and quaint accommodations. The owner has done a fantastic job of updating without ruining the essence of the property. However, the real selling point was when we got a chance to speak to Helene, the Venue’s Wedding Coordinator. After our first visit, we knew this was the place for our Hudson Valley wedding. We were married at the Preston barn on November 13th 2021 and could not have asked for a more amazing weekend. Helene was absolutely wonderful to work with and orchestrated our wedding vision without any hesitation. Our wedding ceremony was planned to be outdoors, however the extreme rain stopped us from it. We started to freak out but Helene stepped in and ensured we had the most beautiful and intimate indoors ceremony. She is always two steps ahead!The cocktail hour, the food and desserts were absolutely delicious and all the Preston Barn’s professional staff provided an incredible service. Our guests were extremely impressed - pretty much everyone asked us how we came across this gem of a venue! The Preston Barn has it all to host the most beautiful wedding and we are so happy we found this special place. Our whole wedding weekend was truly unforgettable and it could have not been possible without Helene and all of the Preston Barn staff! Look no further!!

My husband and I got married in April 2021 in a private ceremony and had our reception in September 2021 at the Preston Barn. The barn was a perfect place for our reception and provided a fun and open atmosphere for our unique Sunday mid day event. The option to have the barn doors open really brought the vibe we were going for and provided a cross over indoor/outdoor reception! The staff were a great help the day of and Helene was there every step in planning and until the event was over that day. We had no troubles doing a more unconventional style reception starting at noon, the food was great and was perfect for the time of day. Our stay at the Inn was also nothing short of spectacular, the inn keepers were attentive and were available for anything we needed. The breakfast served after staying the night at the Inn was also delicious and a great way to start the day.

It was our first wedding here and from the first day I toured The Preston Barn, I knew that we could manage events with success. The event manager welcomed us, was explicit with all the information we needed to inform our vendor team and to do our job. Her highly organized nature and communication skills allowed us to manage a swift runup for this wedding. As we met the staff in the lead-up week, each person could not have been more helpful, friendly and eager to do whatever we needed to support our couple and us. From accommodating our decor requirements to serving a stellar and delicious dinner, they gave all and made the evening exceed all expectations for our couple and their guests. My husband and I recently got married and the Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn on 12/18/21 and all I can say is WOW! We had to reschedule our wedding from May 2020 and I stumbled upon this venue in my searches and I am so glad I did. I knew when I visited the grounds it was the perfect place to host our event, and it truly was. The venue and inn are just so stunning. I loved the feel when you walked into the inn, like you stepped into your whimsical and cozy cottage with all its charm and warmth. It was so nice to have the amazing accommodations right on site for all of our close family for the weekend. Another plus (among many) was access to the barn for the entire weekend. We used the Barn for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception, and it is a weekend I will never forget. The food - it was amazing. All the apps (which I got to try because they put a whole plate aside for the Bride and Groom) were amazing, and the entrees were so delicious. The space - again, just so stunning. There were so many lovely decorations already available for us to use which was so nice! Donna and Helene went above and beyond with helping me decorate the barn and bring my winter wedding vision to life. Helene was there through every step of the planning process, answering and questions we had and was so helpful and attentive to me and my guests! Donna was so nice and helpful making sure I was happy and had everything I needed throughout the weekend! You can really tell the staff enjoys what they do! My guests could not stop gushing over the wedding and it will be talked about for many years to come! We also had our after party at the Tap room - I loved the look of it from when I first visited, and it was a major point for my husband! I am so thankful to everyone at the Preston Barn for our special day!!!

The Preston Barn is a beautiful place for a wedding reception. And the staff is amazing. Top-rate in every way.I had a great time, even tough the evening was not without a mishap, as I took a bite out of something that I was allergic to as the cocktail hour was winding down. So when I sat down at my table at The Preston Barn I lost consciousness. Within seconds, Donna, Megan, and Sharron were there to help me. Within a few minutes after they came to help me I felt great and was able to enjoy the evening as planned. What could have been a disaster for me instead ended up being a great evening thanks to these three wonderful ladies. I'll never forget them. God bless them. I highly recommend the Preston Barn.

Everything about this venue is stunning, from the hotel rooms to the food, to the whole vibe. Our wedding day was beyond perfect…Helene was so easy to work with and soooo helpful. The Preston Barn and Old Drovers Inn provided us with everything we hoped for and more for our wedding! It is not only a breathtaking venue, but the entire staff was a dream to work with! Planning a wedding during the pandemic was a stressful experience, but from the start Helene (the event coordinator) made the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible! She is truly a gem! She is very responsive, approachable, caring, thoughtful and knowledgeable! She helped us coordinate our entire wedding weekend and utilize the venue space to meet our \"micro\" wedding goals in just about 6 weeks! Every aspect of our wedding weekend was organized perfectly and when a tropical storm threatened to drench our day Helene and Donna worked quickly with us to change the plan so that our day would still be beautiful. Our wedding was on a Sunday with about 30 guests. On Saturday we had access to the venue to set up and make sure the rain plan was in place. This was so convenient and mitigated any last minute stress. That night we enjoyed a delicious dinner with our wedding party and parents in the Tap Room. Then, we retired to our more than comfortable rooms in the inn where we spent the rest of the weekend. The inn is not only charming but the innkeepers (Erin and Everett) are a pleasure to stay with and the complimentary breakfast was outrageously phenomenal! It was a beautiful experience to enjoy a delicious meal with my bridal party and then get ready all together! Then, we were able to relax there again after the festivities of our wedding day. Not having to travel all weekend was an absolute dream and the accommodations could not have been more inviting, clean and comfortable! The day of our wedding Helene was with us every step of the way! When our photographer cancelled on us three hours before our ceremony due to the weather, Helene reassured me everything was going to be okay. She was ready with her camera and helped, along with friends and family, to capture our day. She truly goes above and beyond to make you feel cared about and make your day special and memorable! All of the staff members that worked at our wedding were equally helpful, kind, and wonderful to work with! The food was also outstanding! All of our guests loved it! Just like our whole day, the food was unique (not the typical wedding venue fare). It is clear the chef pays close attention to detail and makes sure every ingredient is fresh and of the finest quality! Everything was cooked perfectly and was just as delicious as when we had our tasting! Our entire experience with The Preston Barn and Old Drovers Inn was truly outstanding! We cannot say it enough! I recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to have an incredible and customized experience in a gorgeous location with high quality food and wonderful, attentive and caring people!

After visiting many wedding venues, we fell in love with The Preston Barn upon arrival. The barn itself is breathtaking with it's rustic charm and modern finishes. Somehow, it managed to be grand, yet cozy. The grounds were immaculate with so many options for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The tent on-site was also a big selling point for us - and we actually ended up using it when thunderstorms rolled through the area. The lodging offerings were another bonus - Old Drovers Inn, The Carriage House and The Preston House had the perfect setups for our wedding party. The convenience of arriving Friday for our rehearsal and staying put throughout the weekend was a logistical dream. It felt like a getaway with all of our closest loved ones.Nothing would have been possible without Helene. At our first appointment, she greeted us with a warm smile (and a folder of important information, of course). When we decided to postpone our wedding during COVID, Helene could not have been easier to work with during such a stressful time. We were grateful for her compassion and flexibility. Helene is best-in-class - professional, easygoing, communicative, understanding and caring. She went above and beyond to reassure us in our decisions and make sure all of our visions became a reality. We always felt like we were in the best of care with Helene; she made time for our endless questions, and was always thoughtful in providing solutions. From start to finish, she was a lifeline to us and felt like family. We loved Helene so much that it was legitimately saddening to say goodbye.We could not recommend The Preston Barn more - it's truly a gem venue and any couple that chooses it for their special day should feel very lucky. The food is outstanding (and seasonally curated by the ever-talented Chef Everett), the tucked away location is private and romantic and the staff could not be more accommodating. We got everything we wanted and more. The Preston Barn served as the backdrop to the happiest weekend of our lives - it will always have a special place in our hearts. There are so many wonderful things to say about The Preston Barn. This was the first out of two venues we looked at and it set the standards high. Nothing compared to the beauty, warmth and uniqueness we saw and felt while visiting for the first time. It was my husband and I rolled into a venue, rustic elegance! The barn is breathtaking, with lights above your head, you truly feel like you’re living in a rustic dream. Exposed wood everywhere and a top-notch bar. The food was amazing, everything we have ever had there has been the best. What I also loved about this venue was the option to make it a weekend getaway. We live local but we wanted the weekend experience where we could be right where we need to be with our family and friends all weekend. Now, let’s talk about Helene, the moment we met her we could sense her calm personality, her willingness to work with you in every way and her true genuine love for what she does. Leading up to the wedding she was always available by email or phone for any question or idea I had. She was so helpful. Day of the wedding, I couldn’t imagine without her, when we weren’t sure where the ceremony would take place due to weather shifting, she calmly let us talk it out, let us move things around and made up a plan. She was always there when you needed her, she was organized and was such a comfort, almost as if she was part of the family. The staff was also wonderful and attentive, our guests and ourselves were so impressed and appreciative. Long story short, if you are looking for that weekend getaway, rustic, unique, beautiful barn wedding with vast greenery all around, The Preston Barn is your wedding spot! We highly recommend this venue and the wonderful Helene and Preston Barn/Old Drovers Inn staff. Truly a wonderful, magical experience.

The Venue Coordinator, Helene Rosenkranz, went above and beyond to make our day fantastic and to help mitigate a lot of the stress of planning our event. We booked the wedding in March of 2021 and by July 2021 I felt confident we had actually (surprisingly!) pulled off planning a wedding with 100+ guests in just four months.Our day went absolutely seamlessly. The Preston Barn is a hidden gem 90 miles north of NYC. It's a local \"destination\" location with B&B style housing in exquisitely restored historic buildings. The barn itself is stunning and modern with the look and feel of an actual barn without the dung! Gourmet food (you'll actually love your meal!) seamless service and a wedding planner (Helene R.) that gets it all done. The area is beautiful with lots of places for guests to explore and enjoy. Don't let the cover fool you, this book is well worth opening and Old Drovers Inn is the perfect place for your rehearsal dinner!

My husband and I had our dream wedding at the Preston Barn in May 2021. The moment we walked through the property we knew it was a special place. The grounds are just so beautiful in ALL seasons. And we originally wanted a Fall wedding because of the Hudson Valley foliage but our new date in May was just as gorgeous with the spring blooms and greenery!The Barn has just enough rustic charm with a modern edge. The Edison lights really set a soft romantic vibe. You definitely don't need tons of decorations here because it's just beautiful. It is spacious but also intimate at the same time. And the FOOD. WOW. Our guests could not stop raving about the food. The appetizers and the entrees were delicious.The Old Drovers Inn, located just steps away from the Barn, is a magical place on its own - so much character! The rooms were spacious and each had their own bathrooms. The library and common rooms were so whimsical. It was so much fun to stay at the Inn with my bridal party. If we had more guests at our wedding we would have rented the other accommodations because they are conveniently located near the venue and are also so charming!The real star was Helene, our wedding coordinator. Through the whole process she was professional, responsive and creative. She listened to our requests/concerns, gave great advice, and genuinely cared about making our wedding weekend memorable. Planning a wedding during the Covid pandemic was very stressful but Helene went above and beyond to help us through it. Thank you so so much Helene!I highly recommend the Preston Barn for your dream wedding! It would be so lovely to come back and stay at the Inn for anniversaries and have dinner at their restaurant.

We are beyond grateful that our planner recommended the Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn for our October 2020 micro-wedding. With so many uncertainties at the time, the staff and wedding coordinator Helene helped make this re-worked wedding a dream! They were flexible, responsive, and so accommodating throughout the whole process. Having accommodations available on-site was a priority for us, so we could just relax while getting ready. The inn keeper made sure we felt comfortable and had anything we needed to enjoy the weekend. Preston Barn is surrounded by plenty of beautiful backdrops for photos, and there is even more in the area for photo ops. Preston Barn was the perfect setting for the natural feel we hoped for on our day. All of our guests remember the the mood setting lighting in the barn and delicious food. When picking out our menu, we were delighted with the number of choices! Everything sounded amazing, and it was. Thank you Preston Barn for such a wonderful experience!!

When \"classy\" and \"rustic\" collide. I had my Bridal shower at The Preston Barn on Saturday, March 6, 2021. First of all, the atmosphere is AMAZING. The classic barn details with a updated and modern twists, string lights, live edge tables, just AMAZING. The food... even more amazing. We did a buffet style meal with chicken, steak, salmon, and side/salad/bread. Each dish was better than the last! My guests raved about the food! It was fresh and cooked to perfection! Especially the fresh baked cookies during dessert! Oh, and the staff!? INCOMPARABLE! Everyone was so professional, personable and ready to support you in any way possible! In fact, my fiancé arrived after food was put away, but they made sure he had a full plate of food ready for him, he loved that! I would recommend The Preston Barn to anyone who is looking to celebrate any special event who want are looking for rustic elegance!

Thank you to the entire Preston Barn team on helping to make our wedding day the best day of our lives! We knew from the moment we toured the barn that it was exactly the setting we wanted to celebrate the start of this new chapter of our lives. Everything about our day was better than we could have even imagined, and a massive part of that is thanks to your hard work! Every single detail was considered in regards to the venue and our guests' accommodations. The Barn looked gorgeous and our guests who stayed onsite were so complimentary of their rooms and the overall charm of the spaces. The attention to detail was also apparent with each member of the event staff, who were there every step of the way, anticipating the next stage of our event (even down to umbrellas being run out to us at the exact moment raindrops began to fall during our Friday rehearsal!). Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The timing and flow of the day were seamless, allowing us to be in the moment and just focus on enjoying the day! We will be forever grateful for that! We were 100% confident in you working with our day-of coordinator and other vendors to ensure everyone knew what to do when. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ate- from breakfast in the Inn in the morning, to rehearsal dinner, to cocktail hour, to dinner during the wedding- it was all fresh, seasonal, and perfect!! Overall, we cannot say enough good things about our experience working with you!! It was just the greatest day, and countless guests commented on how amazing the venue and experience was!!

Best place ever for a barn wedding in the Hudson Valley. You're breathe is taken away the moment you step foot on the property and are greeted by courteous staff. Inside the barn its rustic appearance with eye appealing tables and sliding doors opening up your view to the outside. The cocktail hour was beautifully laid out with a bar on whiskey barrels and old doors , help yourself beers on more whiskey barrels and fabulous Specialty cocktails with an abundance of food laid on a harvest table. Once the large barn door opened for everyone to enter, you heard everyone gasp at the beauty inside. The reception was beyond amazing with so much delightful food you definitely did not go home hungry. The best was last... and amazing wedding cake made locally in Dover Plains. Do try the Preston Barn for your next event. You will not be disappointed in the least bit!

My husband and I married here on August 17th, 2019. Old Drovers/The Preston Barn (OD/PB) conveniently sat dead center between the houses my husband and I grew up in. As Dover/Wingdale natives we watched the venue go from an abandoned but beautiful building to a gorgeous wedding venue. The team at OD/PB are amazing (Helene, Randy, and Lauren especially)! They truly dedicate every moment of the day to ensuring your happiness. I honestly cannot think of a single thing that didn’t go exactly the way I wanted. Helene is not only a family friend, but is an AMAZING staff member who will make you feel special during the entire process. The drinks were fantastic, and everyone raved about the food! I suggest splurging on a signature drink or two, (especially the blackberry mojito!!!!) because they are all fantastic. If you are on the fence, take a weekend to stay at the Inn, tour the grounds, and have dinner. You’ll fall in love with it’s rustic, vintage charm. Thank you so much Jim, Randy, Lauren, and Helene! We don’t even know where to start. Old Drovers Inn is the most magical place and we are beyond happy we got to celebrate our big day here. From day one, everyone was very responsive and made us feel like we’re the priority. If there were any issues, they took care of them. Big shout out to Helene and Randy, these two just made everything better and we can’t say enough of good things about them. If you’re thinking of booking this place for your special day, don’t hesitate and just do it. You’ll get married at a beautiful place and have your stomachs filled with AMAZING food and I’m sure your guests will be amazed and well taken care of ❤️ We can’t stop talking about this past weekend , beyond perfect.

My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at Preston Barn. We highly recommend this venue as the setting was beautiful, the food delicious, and the staff was friendly, courteous and very attentive to service and detail. Lauren and Helene truly listened to our vision for the reception and made every last detail happen, even being open to trying new decor for the venue. Most important, they were timely in their response to our emails and if they needed to find out information, they were quick to get back to us. July 20, 2019 was 96 degrees but you would never have known it inside the barn! Thanks to Preston Barn's wonderful employees they were polite and enthusiastic to be sure we had the night of our dreams. I would highly recommend this beautiful venue.

We could have never expected just how perfectly The Preston Barn staff and, Helene, in particular, would execute our vision. Our venue coordinator, Helene, was the most helpful resource from start to finish. She worked with us every step of the way to ensure our planning went smoothly. She worked directly with our vendors as well, communicating important details and double checking everything for us! We already knew we loved her as the wedding weekend approached but her efforts and attention to detail throughout our wedding weekend completely blew us away. She was there for every moment, attending to anything we requested and even going out of her way to provide last minute décor details. She treated our families like family. We can truly say we could not have done it without her. And she did all this with a calm and confident demeanor. What a gift she is! Lauren was also a wonderful resource for all our questions and facilitated our planning with excitement and professionalism! We are also extremely grateful for Randy, the bartender, who worked with our father to accommodate special bar requests. Lastly, Erin, the innkeeper, worked diligently to service all our guests throughout the weekend. Our friends and family continue to say the weekend was one of their favorite vacations to date! The Preston Barn and Inn is unparalleled in all areas. The grounds are meticulously cared for, the food is local, fresh and gourmet (both at the reception and at the amazing breakfasts provided!) and the service is top notch. Our guests have never experienced anything like it and the accolades continue to pour in. The Preston Barn was the very first wedding venue we looked at and we literally fell in love at first sight. It is one of the most unique and beautiful wedding venues in the Hudson Valley. The barn is equipped with everything you could want or need for a wedding and the food is amazing! My husband and I wanted a rustic venue for our October wedding and The Preston Barn was the perfect fit. The entire staff at the Old Drovers Inn and The Preston Barn were wonderful to work with and made our entire wedding weekend one we will long cherish. The inn itself is rich in history and the Carriage House is absolutely beautiful. Our family and bridal party had the pleasure of staying on site for the weekend and it couldn't have been more wonderful. The wait staff provided our guests with top notch service throughout the entire weekend, including at our rehearsal dinner and the brunch the morning of our wedding and the morning after. Our wedding guests raved about the food and drinks served during cocktail hour and during the reception. Stephanie and Randy are awesome! Stephanie was a tremendous resource throughout the planning process and Randy was a huge help with many last minute details that we needed ironed out. We can’t thank them enough as well as the entire staff at The Preston Barn for everything that was done for us to make our wedding perfect in every way. It is a moment in our lives that we wish we could relive over and over again. THANK YOU!

After my previous venue fell through, The Preston Barn was literally the answer to my prayers! Stephanie and the team at Old Drovers Inn were so accommodating and enthusiastic about our Game of Thrones themed handfasting, and I really couldn't recommend this place more to brides looking for a comfortable and beautiful place to tie the knot. It was so nice to have a venue with on-site catering of such high quality. All my 68 guests loved the food and still talk to me about it. Additionally, we were offered multiple opportunities to taste the food ahead of time, and that made such a big difference! The lodging was gorgeous and incredibly comfortable. The Rose Room made me feel like a total princess. It should be noted that the bridal suite and what many would choose as a suite for the bride's parents are on the third floor, and you need to take some pretty steep / warped stairs to get up there. So if you have parents or elderly relatives with mobility concerns, this is something to consider. But otherwise, we really couldn't complain! Procedurally, The Preston Barn really pulled out all the stops to make sure our weekend went smoothly, but the reason I'm compelled to give four stars instead of five is because I think there are some things The Preston Barn still needs to figure out as a new wedding venue, and that did make our planning process / day of a little more challenging. There were a few questions we were given different answers for by different people, and Stephanie needs A LOT more support than she currently has during the day of the wedding. For example, the roses for our mother of the bride and groom tribute never made it to the altar, but there's absolutely no way Stephanie could be blamed for it. She's juggling so much that day as the Day Of Coordinator that it was completely understandable. I just hope as the venue starts booking more weddings, they'll give her additional support so small things like that are taken care of. Speaking of Stephanie -- she's literally the best. Her years of experience in the wedding industry have made her TOTALLY UNFLAPPABLE and she has a solution to pretty much any and every problem that could arise during the planning process. She was incredibly patient with me, and even more patient with my mom who definitely did not go easy on her at any point in the process. Stephanie really held fast to my vision for my day while also hearing out other opinions with grace. We were one of the first weddings to happen at the Preston Barn, and I truly think any of the minor things that went awry during our wedding will be ironed out with experience and additional staffing. By all counts, The Preston Barn is an amazing place to get married and Stephanie will make sure you, your family, your friends, and your guests are well taken care of!

Our wedding at the Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn was nothing short of amazing! From the day we stepped onto the grounds we knew this was the atmosphere we wanted for our wedding. The barn is newly-built and gorgeous on the inside and out. The barn is surrounded by lush, green grounds and the clearing near the woods was the perfect spot for our ceremony. Stephanie and her crew truly helped make our wedding so special and they were so accommodating and responsive throughout the entire planning process. The food was also absolutely incredible at the rehearsal dinner/cocktail hour/reception. We did a family style menu at the reception and received so many positive compliments from our guests. We also rented the inn and carriage house across the street and it was such a fun weekend for our family and wedding party. Both houses have so much character and the service was great. We’ve gotten so many compliments from our guests on the overall atmosphere and we can’t thank Stephanie and everyone at the Old Drover’s Inn for making our wedding so special!!!

On July 7, 2018 I married my best friend at the most magical place, The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn! It was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Between the staff, views, and food, everything was beyond perfect. The staff was so detailed and listened to our every want and need. Stephanie was such a pleasure to have worked with through the entire process. She was on top of every detail leading up to the day of the event keeping us in order and on track of things, which was a HUGE help considering things get hectic days before. She is an incredible Coordinator! Helene was there for our special day, and she nailed it. She made sure our needs were taken care of and made sure we got to eat and that every detail went smoothly for us. OH, and the food! The food here is heavenly. We had a buffet of different foods. They even accommodated for our guests who were Gluten Free, how incredible! Not a single complaint from our guests, and the views were photo perfect! We were lucky enough to have a nice cool day in the 70's with low humidity, and it made for beautiful views. I can't express enough how incredible The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn are! I would choose them everytime. Thank you to everyone who made our day so magical!

From the day we walked onto the grounds of the Old Drovers Inn my husband and I were treated by Stephanie, Erin and Everett like we were family. Stephanie was engaged, detailed and thorough with her responses and information she relayed to us throughout the process. The food has been raved about for MONTHS since our wedding day and me and my husband could not be happier. For us, specifically my husband, the Preston Barn and Old Drovers are a part of his history. Almost 30 years ago my husband’s parents purchased a piece of property in Dover Plains across from a Historic Bed and Breakfast built in the 18th Century. For years they would watch Owners change hands until the building fell into disrepair. Recently it landed in the capable hands of Jim and his talented team. Since being in Jim’s hands, the grounds transformed before my new family’s eyes. The old building was brought back to life very quickly and the Preston Barn was built to be the beautiful celebration space it is today. All of this matters because this place is more than a venue for my newly formed family. The house across the street, the Inn itself, and the Preston Barn have LITERALLY been a fixture in my husband’s life during each stage of it and on October 7th, my Husband and I happily said our vows in the clearing behind the Barn, less than 1,000’ from the home he grew up in. It was beyond special for us and our family, and the staff at the Old Drovers Inn and Preston Barn were, again….second to none. We give the Preston Barn, Old Drovers Inn, Stephanie, Erin, Everett, Jim and the rest of his staff a 10/10, 5 stars, and 2 thumbs up. The love my new family has for the Old Drovers was shown back to us 10 fold!

We had the first of all weddings at the Preston Barn on May 20th, 2017 and were blown away by the overall experience. The venue itself was exactly what we were looking for in terms of food, atmosphere, scenery and overall experience. Jim, Everett and the rest of the staff were nothing but helpful while planning and organizing our wedding-we couldnt praise them enough.As a wedding venue we couldnt fault anything. The food was out of this world and all our guests complimented on the quality of food. There were many options to choose from and the buffet presentation was beautiful. We had full use of Old Drovers Inn, once the main venue wound down so we were able to keep the party going! The room we stayed in was great and our guests loved being able to relax in front of the fire pit enjoying a few more drinks. The venue played a huge part in the success of our weekend and the amount of our guests who are still talking about your venue is a testament to that. Thanks again to everyone at the Preston Barn! Both Old Drovers Inn & the adjacent Preston Barn are beautiful locations for spending a wedding weekend. The management and catering staff were easy to work with & very accommodating as we were moving through the planning process. The newly built barn is gorgeous, inside and out - we had a lot of compliments from guests about the venue. Right across from the buildings is a lush, green space perfect for the woodsy feel I was going for as well. Food and drinks were incredible: the rehearsal dinner, reception and day-after brunch. Also got many compliments on this aspect by both our wedding party and guests, great job guys!!Still dreaming about an amazing day they helped put together for us! :)
