The Reception House at Raymond Memorial Reviews
Kristen Pechacek(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-06-2022 Beautiful venue with awesome indoor and outdoor space! All of the staff members were so friendly and Holly and Kristen helped our day run so smoothly! Food was also tasty and we've had a lot of compliments on the venue/space from our guests Reviewed on 26-09-2022
Ashley Lapworth(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-05-2022 Kristen and Holly were WONDERFUL to work with! They took so much time to make sure that every detail for our special day was right! From how we wanted the room laid out with the tables and decor to making sure all the food we picked out was where it was supposed to be and when. The wait staff was also super polite and props to the chef for the DELICIOUS food! We HIGHLY recommend The Reception House for your wedding if you want great coordinators, tasty food and a beautiful green to get photos on!😃👍 Reviewed on 25-05-2022
Elena Markwood(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-05-2021 Kristen Kahrs is AMAZING, so easy and helpful to work with, and she became a sweet friend to us during a very long and difficult wedding planning and re-planning process. My husband and I were married on May 29, 2020, close to the beginning of the pandemic, and Raymond Memorial golf course was our originally booked wedding venue (we were going to have an outdoor ceremony on the greens and an indoor reception in the banquet hall), but due to the pandemic we ended up having an immediate family-only ceremony in my husband's grandparents' back yard. Kristen was helpful and supportive as it became clear that our wedding plans were going to have to change, and had no problem at all with us changing our date with the venue twice (first to a belated September reception, and then again to our first anniversary in May of this year). When the time finally came to celebrate and we got to have our friends and family together at Raymond, the venue could not have been more perfect for the celebration. The banquet hall looked lovely with simple greenery centerpieces that our florist put together, and everything ran so smoothly and everyone had such a wonderful time. Kristen helped us with little out-of-the-box requests that made our day more personal and special for us (like having Martinelli's as our non-alcoholic champagne toast option, or having a rose mojito as my bride signature drink), and the whole day felt so infused with our personality and so special. We took family/bridal party photos and golden hour couple photos on the golf course and they turned out so beautiful, and the meal was wonderful, and of COURSE the Schmidt's cream puffs are not to be missed.I love that Raymond includes chairs, tables, linens, place settings, cake knife server, etc. We did not have to pay extra to rent those supplies, which was so helpful and made planning so much easier! This venue is beautiful and affordable and I just can't say enough good things about the venue itself or about working with Kristen. If they're still available on your date and you're getting married in Columbus, Ohio, BOOK IT! Reviewed on 18-06-2021

Morgan Reinhard(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-10-2018 I cannot come up with the words to explain my disappointment with the event staff here. After one failed attempt to coordinate a tour and discuss our wedding in person, I had finally arranged a meeting with Sarah when she proposed a meeting time that worked perfectly with my restricted free time. The location was a bit of a drive for us but we were willing to spend our Saturday afternoon driving if it meant getting to make wedding arrangements Unfortunately, Sarah did not show up to the appointment, and had not even planned to be at the event space on the day she met with us due to another event she was coordinating being off-site. The lack of communication about this was extremely upsetting. I would avoid the disappointment and just not bother considering this location. Reviewed on 09-09-2017
Shannon Raymond(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-12-2016 We LOVED having our December wedding at the Reception House at Raymond Memorial. Sarah was absolutely amazing and walked us through every step of the process. She was always very responsive and answered all of our questions. The staff was also wonderful and so helpful. The food was amazing, the staff helped out so much with the decor and made it an absolutely wonderful event. I live out of town, so planning a wedding from far away was stressful, but Sarah and the staff made it so easy to plan and did so much for us. It was a beautiful time with AMAZING food and service. We couldn't have asked for a better place to host a beautiful christmas wedding. We would highly recommend this for anyone's wedding! Reviewed on 29-01-2017

Beautiful Inside and outside so either way if it rains we would be happy inside. The place is so big. Only downfall is the bridal room is very small but we will be using our hotel to get ready. The execution of the various portions of the evening were handled in a seamless fashion by both you and your staff and combined with the quality of food it made for a flawless evening.Since the wedding whenever anybody ask me how it went I have told them that if there ever looking for a venue to have an event my recommendation is that they speak to you about using Raymond Memorial because of the quality and caliber of individuals in that organization. Jennifer Stemen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-04-2015 We were already using Schmidt's as our caterer when our previous reception hall became unavailable so we just decided to move the venue to the Raymond Reception House. I wish I would have chose them from the start. We had the best experience. Everything went so smoothly. As the Bride, I didn't have to worry about a thing. Sarah coordinated everything with our other venders so I really felt like I could just show up to my reception like all the other guests and just have a good time. They really went above and beyond to assure that the reception would come together. This is a smaller venue so a large crowd could be a problem. We had 180 people and we had plenty of room! We had beautiful weather so we were able to be outside for appetizers and all the windows made for some beautiful views as the sun went down. I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants good food and a great, low stress experience. Reviewed on 14-04-2015
a member (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-08-2012 The Reception House at Raymond Golf Course is a great wedding reception venue. As avid golfers, we were aware of the venue space, but were pleasantly surprised at the catering options and how willing the staff was to work with us in planning our reception. We worked closely with our wedding planner, who was extremely responsive and had great attention to detail. We met with her on site several times, including a tasting with the head chef. The reception went off without a hitch and our guests enjoyed a happy hour, while the wedding party took photos out on the golf course. We had a sit down dinner, dancing, and even karaoke towards the end of the night. Every request we had was met and the chef even sent us off with doggie bags since the bride and groom never have time to eat during dinner. I would recommend planing your reception at this venue over other locations in Columbus. Reviewed on 29-12-2014

Laura Vasser(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-09-2019 I recently contacted them about possibly holding my wedding reception at The Reception House. After not calling me back for 4 days, they called Saturday afternoon. When I asked if I could come by that day to look at the place, I was told (at 1:30pm) that I had to be there by 2pm. Since it was on my way home, I said sure. We arrived a little before two and Stephanie had another couple in the hall. There's nowhere to sit in the entry way, and so we waited for 15 minutes. She never acknowledged that we were there (she saw us), and when we left in disgust, she never called us to apologize. The fact that she made us waste a trip and then couldn't take a moment to say \"I'm sorry, my other appointment is running late, can you come back/wait\" is inexcusable. She could have scheduled us for a different day, ANYTHING, but tell us we have to be there by a certain time and then make us wait. \r\rAlso, the whole place smelled horrible, a sickly-sweet cleaner scent that gave the impression it was covering up worse odors. The place is attached to the golf shop, and the restrooms are the golf courses locker rooms.\r\rI can't imagine having a wedding reception in a place with that kind of customer service. Weddings are all about feeling special, and The Reception House definitely doesn't get it.\r\rAlso, not that its profile says that they do not have onsite catering, but that no outside caterers are allowed.
