We are so pleased to have hosted our November 2023 Wedding and Rehearsal Dinner at the Red Fox Inn & Tavern. This was the first venue we visited in person and from that moment we knew that the setting and reputation for top-notch customer service was perfect for our wedding weekend. Our wedding of 40 was an intimate affair. We were able to take advantage of having the ceremony outdoors in the gardens and having a delicious dinner in the historic Tavern. Our guests continue to compliment the beautiful grounds, the historic significance of the property, and the delicious food that was served. For our many guests that traveled to attend the wedding, the proximity to Dulles International Airport was a bonus. As bride and groom, we appreciated the attention to customer service. Throughout the planning process, during the event, and after the event, the staff of the Red Fox have been in constant communication with us, leaving nothing to chance. We were especially struck by the staff going out of their way to not only welcome our guests, but to acknowledge and congratulate us throughout the wedding weekend. Anna, Ashley, and the Red Fox team helped make our wedding weekend unforgettable.

We held our intimate wedding and reception at The Red Fox Inn & Tavern in December, and it was a truly magical experience from start to finish! We had the pleasure of working with Ashley throughout the year to plan out our dream day, and the entire Red Fox team absolutely delivered! Ashley was incredibly professional and helpful throughout the planning process. The venue is exquisite, and it was the perfect place to host our festive, hunt-country themed December wedding. Every backdrop was absolutely stunning, and the food and drinks were divine! Our guests were all blown away by the venue, as well as the hotel accommodations. I couldn't recommend this venue highly enough -- it was a truly magical day!

We had the pleasure of working with Ashley throughout the year to plan out our dream day, and the entire Red Fox team absolutely delivered! Ashley was incredibly professional and helpful throughout the planning process. The venue is exquisite, and it was the perfect place to host our festive, hunt-country themed December wedding. Every backdrop was absolutely stunning, and the food and drinks were divine! Our guests were all blown away by the venue, as well as the hotel accommodations. I couldn't recommend this venue highly enough -- it was a truly magical day!

We held our small (about 40 person) wedding ceremony in the courtyard gardens and had our reception in the tent on the patio. We decided to go with Red Fox because we loved the ambiance-- the beautiful grounds, the warm and professional staff, and the many included elements (tent, 5-star quality dinner and cocktail hour, tables & chairs). We also loved that our guests could all stay on the grounds, which they did. Even with our high expectations, the Red Fox blew us away. You're welcome to read on, but the short of it is that we recommend them totally without reservation. First of all, we must give a special shout out to Ashley, who is the Events Director and is a superstar. She promptly responded to all our emails (of which there were many and very detailed!) with professionalism and enthusiasm. Through every step of our year-long correspondence she made us feel like she wanted the day to be special for us and she truly NEVER dropped the ball or forgot the smallest detail we had discussed. We barely remembered everything about our own wedding. She's the best!!The events staff at Red Fox are also wonderful. We got many compliments from our guests about them. They went above and beyond to distribute food and pie, keep wine glasses filled, and even change the film in our polaroid camera station. They are even in the background of some of our wedding photos smiling at us during our first dance. They set everything up and broke it down precisely on schedule and with great attention to detail. We could not have asked for more. The venue itself is also spectacular. The grounds are immaculate. They have someone on groundskeeping staff whose job appears to be to carefully remove fallen leaves from pathways and re-rake the pebbles. It's all worth it. The inn is really gorgeous and the courtyard gardens were a picturesque place to get married. We stayed in the Middleburg Cottage and it was great as well. There is a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, laundry facilities, and couches and a dining table to make hosting easy. Our guests stayed on the grounds, so we were able to invite MVPs to bring their breakfasts to eat with us the day of and the day after the wedding. Our guests told us that staying there felt like a getaway. The grounds are relaxing and fairly COVID-safe, with lots of room outdoors to hang out. We can't conclude without mentioning the food. The breakfasts were varied and bountiful, the passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious, and the dinner was sensational. Some people told us it was the best steak they had ever eaten. My aunt wanted the recipe for the vegetarian mushroom dish. We really wanted to serve good food, and the Red Fox came through for us.

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the Red Fox Inn and Tavern on July 3, 2021. Like many couples, we had gone through multiple reschedulings and changed locations due to covid. We booked the venue just under 5 months out from our date. We were looking for a venue that could host a 55-person wedding entirely outdoors, due to covid concerns. Ashley, the Red Fox's events coordinator, was a dream to work with. She was super responsive by email and phone and very friendly and professional. Our wedding was an absolute dream. The courtyard gardens were a stunning location for a wedding ceremony, and the reception tent was lovely. We brought in a seven-person band, so the stage and dance floor took up a decent amount of room in the reception area. All of our 55 guests were comfortable during cocktail hour + the seated dinner + dancing reception. If you are planning a larger wedding, I would just be aware that the tent is not a huge area, so if you choose to have a band it will definitely cut into the available space. Perhaps the best compliment we got from guests was related to the Red Fox inn's staff. Multiple guests told us how kind, helpful and responsive the staff were to whatever questions or concerns they had. The mother of the groom lost an earring in a grate just an hour before the ceremony, so she called the front desk. A staffer came running with chopsticks and saved the day by fishing out the earring! The bartenders and wait staff were so friendly and attentive -- a relief to us given concerns about the current hospitality worker shortage across the country.The food and beverages were top notch. The cake, provided by the Salamander resort, was delicious. And the cottage, which is provided for use by couples as part of the wedding booking, was charming. To sum it up, choosing to have our wedding at the Red Fox was the best decision. It was not cheap, but the end result was well worth the investment. Two thumbs up from some very happy newlyweds! :)

We had an amazing experience at the Red Fox Inn for our intimate wedding in April 2021. The Inn was extremely accomodating on fluctuating guest numbers as we balanced COVID restrictions and planning. We received compliments from all of our guests on the beautiful surroundings at the Inn, the food (the food is amazing) and the wonderful staff. We were able to spend four days at the Inn and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. The events team does a wonderful job checking in throughout the planning process and their experience in running events and working with vendors and planners shows throughout all the small touches that are part of the wedding package. The garden space was beautiful for our wedding ceremony and they were able to accommodate our guests for a reception with excellent attention to detail and COVID measures. Each space is unique in the Inn buildings and outside. The grounds lend themselves to wonderful photos and it was so nice to have the ceremony and reception in one venue for our older guests. We highly recommend this venue but most importantly all of the team at the Inn who made our day and overall stay very special.

Our guests each had a hand-written welcome note in their rooms on the wedding day, and my fiance and I received two bottles of champagne in our rooms over the course of the weekend. Their day-of events manager made the coordination seem effortless, even without a wedding coordinator. The three-course dinner and Barboursville wine also made for an incredible dining experience. Impeccable service and an amazing venue location. We'll be returning for future weekend stays and highly recommend them for hosting your event.

PERFECT place for an intimate Covid wedding: Professional and super organized Red Fox event coordinator made planning a breeze. Intimate and gorgeous outdoor ceremony location. History and gravitas of setting (oldest continuously operated inn in the United States) added an extra level of specialness to the event and location. Beautifully lit and heated outdoor patio area made reception dinner like a magical fairytale banquet. Stunningly appointed (and very large!) rooms made the wedding night lovey and getting ready so fun and easy. Highly recommend!!!

The Red Fox, and Ashley in particular, made our wedding absolutely perfect! The venue is incredibly beautiful but what made the experience so special was the compassionate and thoughtful care that we received by the staff at the Red Fox. They have thought of everything and truly made planning a wedding pretty easy. They were very careful with COVID (something very important to us) and were patient with the never-ending questions that I asked. I’m so excited that the Red Fox will be part of our story forever.
