It’s hard to know where to start with this review. The hosts are remarkable. They answered too many questions to count about the venue and details, all incredibly promptly. We were allowed multiple planning trips to figure out setup and specifics. They were extremely helpful on the day of with helping people to park while still giving us space to ourselves. Nancy and Steve are both incredible and working with them was a true delight. The venue itself is perfect. The barn is absolutely gorgeous. There are many wedding supplies left behind by former brides that you are allowed access to, all you could need in terms of tables and chairs is readily available, and the space is beautifully decorated with lights, branches, rustic touches, and tulle. To top it off, we got most of the day Friday to set up for our Saturday wedding. After booking this venue, I elicited a lot of “wow”s by showing photos of just the inside. Additionally, the separation of the two levels allowed us to have a cocktail hour and outdoor games before bringing guests upstairs for dinner (and then back downstairs to the dance room!) The house is the cherry on top of the cake. It is truly stunning inside and very fun to tour. On our wedding day, we had two separate sides of the second floor for the groomsmen and bridesmaids where we could get ready comfortably amidst a beautiful setting. The house also has real bathrooms, which is pretty important for a wedding in my opinion. Lastly, the house was a perfect location for our wedding photos. We took a ton of photos inside and in front of the house and our photographer was very excited about all of the opportunities. This venue is breathtaking. This venue earns still more points for affordability. It fit perfectly within our very modest hotel budget, the recommended caterer was excellent AND affordable, and being able to bring in our own beverages saved us more yet. The mission of the venue also adds to the appeal. I love that the venue is set up as a space and fundraiser to contribute to the community and really felt that mission as we spoke to the owners. All in all, any degree of perfection we achieved on our wedding day was thanks to this remarkable venue and these remarkable people. Our day was unique and beautiful and we felt that we were able to make it exactly what we wanted due to the space and hosts. Thank you! Reviewed on 13-08-2018
Ashleigh Rafferty(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-10-2015 The place is absolutely amazing! It's decorated beautifully regardless. The only thing I honestly had an issue with is we paid $1,950 to be there all day from\r7 am-11 pm. Everybody started leaving at 9 and thankfully with a lot of help we got the place cleaned up a hour later. The owner came at 10 and looked the place over to make sure nothing was damaged. My husband and I were in the house trying to make sure we grabbed everything and the people who were with us were getting a tour of the when he told us it was time to go. We were finishing dragging everything downstairs and cleaning up when he shut all the lights off on us. Not just once, but twice, and there's only stairs and most of the people that were helping us finish up were older. It really irritated me with how we were treated towards the end. We made the place look like it did before the wedding and he was trying to push us out 45 minutes early. There was also a lot of miscommunication with his wife that also owned the place. She said that she had been waiting for me since 7 am to show up, and was being rude about it. I was pretty positive she said 8 am, which I did have emails that said, \"We will have everything ready for you to start your set-up at 8 am.\" I knew I wasn't crazy. It's a beautiful place. It was just the way that we were treated that really made me angry. It added to my stress level. Especially at the end of the night while we were trying to clean. Reviewed on 05-10-2015

Jenny Rizzo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-05-2013 The Red House is an AMAZING hidden treasure in the hills of Cassadaga, NY. Owners, Steve and Nancy Wickmark are phenomenal people with a great things going here! Really affordable! Beautiful at all times of the year. Definitely worth every penny! Perfect for a rustic, DIY wedding! Beautiful photo opportunities as well! Kid friendly! Plenty to offer as the owners have free tables, etc. for you to use. Beautiful white chairs available to rent. All proceeds go to Non-profit organization. We would 100% recommend The Red House! Reviewed on 18-06-2013
Shawnna Emley(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2012 The Red House is an absolutely stunning old manor and barn in Cassadaga. The venue was perfect for my vintage/green wedding. The rental fee is a bit steep since pretty much nothing is included. They only have rectangular tables and metal chairs included, or VERY beat up white chairs for $1 each. You have to bring in your own round tables if those are what you want, also chairs, and have to carry them up the flight of stairs. There is also no plumbing in the barn, only bathroom is a portajohn, which yes is very clean and deluxe, but is still a portajohn. You alsO have to clean up immediately following the event or pay for additional time the next day. And that's if the facility isn't rented out the next day.\r\rAs I said its beautiful and everything was perfect, but the place would benefit from an actual planner and services Reviewed on 19-09-2012

This Venue was perfect. We had our reception on the second floor of the barn and it was beautiful! The girls all got ready inside the manor which made perfect pictures. I couldn't imagine a more perfect venue and Steve and Nancy were there anytime we needed them. Not to mention the profit goes to youth organizations in the area. Reviewed on 07-10-2011
