We cannot say enough positive words about this venue and the wonderful staff. We booked at the red lion inn because of the beautiful venue, grounds, and do-anything mentality of the staff. They instantly made us feel like everything we had on our wish list was possible and that they’d take care of it so we didn’t have to worry about it. First the wedding planning process was amazing. Soli and our producer Jennifer were with us every step of the way. Jennifer was extremely attentive to email and answered every random question I thought of very promptly. The wedding tasting itself was amazing. They set up the barn like an actual wedding with all the couples getting married in the next half of a year so you get a true sense of what it would be like to get married there. The tasting was so delicious we decided to book a second tasting as there were things on the menu we didn’t get to try that we knew would be delicious. Jennifer led our venue walk through a few weeks before the wedding. She walked through all of the details of the day and made us feel at ease. She made great suggestions and even got us thinking about a few things we hadn’t considered such as what to put decor wise on the entrance table. Unfortunately Jennifer has a family circumstance that prevented her from being our producer for our wedding weekend. She worked behind the scenes to catch Soli up on all of our details to ensure a seamless transition. On the wedding day we had Soli by our sides and she kept us all in line, on schedule, and relaxed. Toufik catered to our every need and was with us since 8am getting read through our after party at 1pm. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Whether it was bring coffee, juice, or champagne for the ladies or even just bringing a dress rack for hanging dresses, he was on top of it. On our end all we had to do was drop off our decor and the staff would set it up and break it down. We just had to move the decor the morning after the event our cars! Such a pain free process. Between Jennifer,Soli, and Toufik there was no need for hiring an additional coordinator because they were so on top of it. We had the perfect weekend and cannot thank them enough! Holy Moly I cannot say enough great things about the Red Lion Inn and how it was the PERFECT venue for our November 2023 wedding! My husband and I toured the RLI shortly after getting engaged and we knew right then, it was the venue for us. We loved the idea of getting married in a barn setting and the Barn at the Red Lion is the definition of cozy, rustic New England charm. Our event coordinator Krystel was an absolute dream to work with and ensured that our wedding day ran without a hitch. Every little detail was taken care of and if something wasn't exactly right, Krystel was there to save the day. We are so grateful for all the staff at the RLI, especially Andrew and Toufik, for making our wedding day unforgettable. It was so convenient to have the ceremony and reception all in the same place and our guests raved about the food. We decided to have our after party in the tavern as opposed to the cave and we had so much fun! The entire wedding party stayed at the inn and we bused all other guests to nearby hotels. We HIGHLY recommend to RLI for a wedding venue and we can't wait to go back to celebrate future anniversaries. Reviewed on 09-01-2024

All I can say is WOW. We knew we wanted to book the Red Lion Inn the moment we stepped foot inside the beautiful barn - and would do anything to make it happen. Flash forward to our beautiful fall wedding in November 2023, and it was hands down the best day of our lives. Our event producer Jennifer helped me the ENTIRE time by answering all of my incessant questions, and were so flexible with all of our specific needs/wants. The weekend of the wedding - she was everything you could ever need and more. So attentive to our needs even before we knew we needed them. So communicative, making sure everything was the way WE wanted. Andrew the innkeeper was also an incredible person on their team - so personable, so attentive, so detail-oriented. Toufik is also so happy and such an amazing person in the service industry! The food at the Red Lion Inn is so delicious - all of our guests said WONDERS about the food at our wedding. I would highly recommend booking your post-wedding night at the Cave downstairs and brunch in the Tavern!! Can't say enough positive things about this place - would 10000% do it all over again in the same place, same everything. Highly highly recommend! Reviewed on 28-12-2023

As soon as my husband and I toured Red Lion Inn, we knew were going to do everything we could to make this our wedding venue. The staff at RLI are the definition of professional and accommodating. Soli was our wedding coordinator and no questions were left unanswered and emails were answered in the utmost timely fashion. She was also a pleasure to work with and made the planning process seamless. It took about a year to plan our wedding on 12/8/23, so if you see a date that interests you - book it! During our big day we were treated like royalty. Anything you need - your coordinator or RLI staff is there! Unfortunately my photographer placed our family photo location on a patch of grass that was extremely muddy and not frozen so my dress was covered in mud before the ceremony began since we opted to get family portraits out of the way. Soli went out of her way to get club soda immediately for me and was scrubbing away on her hands and knees. This completely put me at ease and the mud was gone thanks to her! This would have been challenging for my mom or matron of honor to do in their nice dresses, so I am so grateful for her. Also, Toufik was an invaluable staff member. He made sure that my husband and I ate during the cocktail hour by finding us with a tray containing each of the hors d'oeuvres. That was such great service since right away at cocktail hour you are so incredibly focused on trying to greet each of your guests. Andrew, the innkeeper is also very helpful, friendly and will acommodate requests such as sending your about to be husband a gift in his room the morning of your wedding! All in all, I can say that I was a former bride who did hours of research. We were searching for a venue where our immediate family could stay and also near the beach/a coastal town. RLI was the ultimate choice and will always look back on our wedding with amazing memories! We can even return year after year to celebrate our magical holiday season wedding. It is rare to find a wedding venue where you can return to even have brunch, lunch or dinner in their tavern! Sincerest thanks to everyone at RLI, you helped us have the wedding of our dreams. My husband and I just had our wedding at the Red Lion Inn on 12/16/23 and the 3500 character limit set on this review isn't nearly enough room to express how incredible it was. The staff at the RLI are incredible. Jennifer Crook our even coordinator was truly a magician. She was organized, knowledgeable, she answered emails within minutes and she really felt like a friend. As someone who was very overwhelmed with wedding planning, she was such a resource and always guided us in the right direction. I will sing her praises forever. Toufik was amazing on our wedding day making sure everyone was well taken care of and tended to every detail. That man worked so incredibly hard and made us all feel so welcome. The inn keeper Andrew was waiting for us Friday night helping us settle all of our decor and made all the guests feel so welcome. The Red Lion Inn itself is stunning. It was the perfect winter wedding destination for our ceremony and reception. Cocktail hour at hill house was perfect and they even helped us coordinate a karaoke after party in the Cave. The food was amazing, the bar staff were top notch. If they have your date available, run don't walk. I will be reliving this day for the rest of my life and the Red Lion Inn and it's staff are a huge part of our perfect day. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Reviewed on 20-12-2023

We had our wedding at the Red Lion Inn in September and it was truly the best day of our lives. From the minute we toured the venue and met the amazing staff we knew that this was our wedding venue - no where else could compare to the charm of the inn, barn, and cave. The Red Lion staff was the dream team to work with. We were lucky enough to work with Krystel as our coordinator throughout the whole planning process. She made wedding planning a breeze and not only brought our vision to life but exceeded our wildest expectations. The whole weekend anytime we needed something Krystel & Toufik were already way ahead of us. Andrew the Inn Keeper made booking our rooms a breeze and welcomed our family with open arms. The Red Lion Inn is truly the epitome of rustic elegance, and we feel so so lucky to have had our reception here! We fell in love with the barn when we first toured the inn and the wedding day was an absolute dream come true. We loved visiting the Red Lion Tavern throughout our engagement for brunch or dinner to get excited for the big day and the group tasting was SO fun. The Inn has 14 rooms on the property so our closest friends and family were able to spend the night which made everything so magical. We are so thankful for Andrew, Krystel, and Toufik for making us feel one in a million. We will forever be grateful for this AWESOME place!! Reviewed on 20-10-2023

The Red Lion Inn was the most incredible venue for our wedding in Jul 2023! We were looking for an upscale barn venue that was close to an airport since we had several guests from out of state and the Red Lion was just that. The first time we toured, my husband and I were sold. The barn has so much charm and the whole property is beautiful. Our wedding team and everyone we met at the Inn were friendly, organized, professional and ready to help with anything. Special shoutout to Sam, our amazing wedding coordinator, Toufik, our event coordinator, and Andrew, the innkeeper. Sam helped us from the day we signed our contract, organizing the little details and ensuring the ceremony and reception ran on smoothly and on schedule, putting us at ease. With the Inn, we were able to have access to the whole property on our wedding day. I got ready with my bridesmaids in the beautiful Hillside House, our ceremony and reception were in the barn and the after party was in the tavern. We were also able to rent the inn rooms on the night of the wedding. I cannot recommend the Red Lion Inn enough for your wedding! Reviewed on 07-10-2023

The Red Lion Inn is the perfect wedding venue! The barn is absolutely beautiful, and the garden area outside is wonderful for pictures and cocktail hour. While the venue is stunning, the team is really what makes the Inn the perfect venue. They really take care of everything, and are super flexible. We had Sam Loonie as our main point of contact for the planning process and day-of coordination, and she was so amazing to work with. She had great recommendations and suggestions for us to consider, and was able to accommodate any ideas/ requests that we had on our end. She made the day absolutely seamless! Toufik was on-site all day and night for the wedding day. I swear, anytime I thought I needed something, he just appeared with it! He is so pleasant and helpful, and made our big day so perfect. We loved our April 2023 wedding at the Red Lion Inn! Krystel, our planner, was incredibly kind and patient - she always answered all of our questions very quickly and did a beautiful job setting up the barn for our wedding! The barn was the perfect place for our roughly 150 person wedding… so much room for dancing, a Photo Booth, and the food… we are still getting compliments on how amazing the filet mignon was! Andrew the Innkeeper was so nice and explained the details of each and every room at the Inn during the planning process! Everyone said we had the most fun wedding they had been to in quite a while and the fact that the after party in the cave was right there surely contributed to that. Everything went so smoothly and we loved every moment!!! Reviewed on 12-07-2023

I do not think there will be enough space in this box for all the wonderful, amazing things I have to say about the Red Lion Inn. From Andrew the Innkeeper and all the staff around him, the tavern staff and especially CHP’s event staff. We had our wedding there on May 13th, 2023 and everything, down to all the details, was PERFECT. The planning process of our wedding was not my favorite time, I was spending a lot of time on the details and at times getting discouraged by increasing costs of things. I had a vision from the day we booked the RLL and mid way through planning almost changed that vision. My event coordinator Jennifer did not allow me to make that change, reminding me that from day one that detail was the one I talked about the most. And boy am I glad she reminded me of this and held me to my dream, truly our wedding was just that, a dream. Jennifer, Taoufik, Soli, Andrew: You are truly amazing at what you do. And your happiness in what you do shines through. Many of our vendors and guests had amazing things to say about our wedding, but mostly about the staff and how great they were from start to finish. Brides, they say we don’t remember to eat at our wedding. Well, I was very intentional about this and our coordinator and team made sure we had plates of food from pictures through to the after party. The attention to detail and to us, the bride and groom, did not go unnoticed. Brides, if you are looking for a venue that wraps up all the things for a wedding day in a nice package, I urge you to inquire at the Red Lion Inn. I inquired at over 24 venues and the RLI provided me with the best package and price. Having a venue that took care of many of the details made wedding planning much easier.Fun fact: Drapes don't just come in white. Things I learned from my florist weeks before our wedding, that we were able to change and complete the look.Photo credit: Dawn Temple Photography. Reviewed on 08-06-2023

From the first point of contact made with the sales staff to inquire about the RLI, to the last moment of picking up all our 'stuff' after the wedding, every single staff person is truly amazing. True professionals!! If you are looking for storybook, or Hallmark movie type setting to host a wedding, there is no place more perfect then the RLI. The ceremony was on the first floor of The Barn, cocktails on the second floor balcony, with dinner and dancing on the first floor. When the wedding party was announced and made their re-entrance to the barn, the bride and groom were able to observe from the second floor balcony and then make their grand entrance to the main floor from a different vantage point. Very dramatic and truly special. Every step of the planning was seamless. From the food tasting to discussing decor and logistics. The execution and evening of the event was perfect. As mother of bride I had no stress. As the event planner no stress. Sam L. and Toufik excellently executed every aspect of the wedding day-ceremony and celebration; from when the bride and her wedding party arrived, to grooms first peak, procession, cake cutting, dancing and dessert, to all the guests leaving in hired motor coaches. There wasn't a detail overlooked, including Andrew at front desk of the Inn, every server, food prep and presentation personnel, chef and cook. If food quality is important to you, as it is to our family, there is no better banquet food I have ever had. Not one hot or cold food item disappointed. Every morsel of food tasted delicious and was presented beautifully, artistically. There is not one criticism I can offer. My daughter’s wedding went on without a hitch, hic-up or flaw. It did not disappoint! We booked our September 2022 wedding in August of 2020. Let’s start with the people… Being that we booked the venue two years prior (and during the time we booked it), we went through a few different coordinators. At the time, this was a bit nerve-wracking; however, we could not have been more grateful we ended up working with Krystel. Throughout the entire process, Krystel was extremely communicative, well-prepared, professional, attentive, and kind. She made our vision come to life the day of the wedding, and always made sure we were well taken care of throughout the day/night. I’d be remiss to not mention Toufik as well – the best! Running about all day/night ensuring that everyone was well taken care of. The professional and hardworking nature of the day-of-staff is a testament to Toufik is his amazing personality. Lastly, Andrew the Innkeeper is absolutely wonderful. Andrew was extremely helpful during the room block process; upon our arrival, we were greeted with his infectious smile. The Inn’s charm and character is a reflection of Andrew. Now the venue – it speaks for itself when you walk in the door. It is cozy, warming, welcoming, casual elegance… everything you could want for a rustic yet elegant vibe. Our ceremony and reception were held in the barn, cocktail hour in the Hillside House, after party in the Cave, and a post-wedding brunch in The Tavern. We had about 185 guests and everyone was extremely comfortable at all points of the evening and next morning. That leads me to the food – truly chef’s kiss. That’s the only way to really describe how phenomenal and delicious everything was from the cocktail hour to dinner to the brunch the next day. A huge thank you to The Red Lion Inn for making our special day just that – truly special. We cannot wait to come back and visit for our first anniversary and for many more special moments to come. You are all simply the best. 10/10 recommend! Love, Brooke & Dave G. Reviewed on 13-12-2022

When I say that the team at Red Lion Inn exceeded all expectations that doesn’t even feel like it fully captures the depth, intimacy, and thorough attention to detail that RLI offered us!!We had a wedding venue already in mind but popped by RLI on a whim. After 15min touring the venue with Soli we had completely changed our minds and were asking when we could set the date!!!From Soli, to Jennifer, Andrew, Tawfik, Matt, all of the incredible staff who worked our weekend, and the woman who made it all happen Sam— we still marvel at the extraordinary gift that the RLI gave us by being the home for one of the most important rituals of a lifetime.Jennifer was so thorough and organized, every step of the way it felt like having a superhuman wedding planner as my right hand person! My husband and I both have large families (many of whom needed to travel internationally for our wedding) with lots of nieces and nephews, accommodating all of the moving parts was made so much easier because of the quick and thorough communication with the staff! We even set up a babysitter room the day and night of the wedding so that our families could relax and party with us!Sam worked with Jennifer and was the point person on the day of the wedding, WOW she knocked it out of the park! I would have been overwhelmed to receive the sheer vast amount of content that I created for my wedding— not Sam. She was cool as a cucumber and put me at ease every single step of the way!! So many of my pieces were fragile, extensive DIY projects, or family heirlooms. She meticulously unpacked every item, set them up perfectly, and was even there at in the wee hours of the night packing items back up. Everything was accounted for, not one item in the entire hundreds of items was forgotten in the process. As far as I’m concerned, RLI and the dream team of Jennifer, Sam, and all of the staff are worth every bit of investment in choosing this venue.I cannot emphasize how much this staff, literally every single person that we worked with, went above and beyond every time! We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner’s wife while we were visiting the venue and it made sense why the whole venue is as incredible as it is. It’s run with so much love and heart and wow does it show!!Andrew, the Innkeeper, must have taken a few dozen calls from me (at least) as I tried to accommodate everyone from my many out-of-town guests. His kindness and care added an exquisite touch to the experience!Tawfik! What a gem!!! He was with us on the day of the wedding and I had no idea how exceptional the day-of staff would be! His huge heart, incredible attention to detail, and phenomenal interpersonal skills made him one of the highlights of the day for my whole family! And that’s saying a lot— because it was an epic day!THE FOOD!! Hands down the best event good that we’ve ever had. The chef is incredible and accommodated so many different allergies and dietary preferences. We even went out to eat at the restaurant at RLI for multiple meals leading up to the wedding because how delicious the food was. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the Red Lion Inn for being such a gem! I loved it all, and it was great for our wedding photos. Plus, they provide a speakeasy bar in the basement for an afterparty! That was insane. Our friends had SO much (too much) fun there. As for the catering/bar services - also great! At the food tasting event, they had some really great options that made it hard to pick. We went with the Halibut, Bistro Filet, & Mediterranean Eggplant, and the food was outstanding on the day of the wedding. Even my hard-to-please, foodie parents were impressed! We also got the open bar, and those bartenders did not hold back or water down the drinks. It was a full on party! Definitely happy we dished out the extra $$ for the bar. Also, we LOVED our wedding coordinator, Jennifer Crook. She was amazing to work with - organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and hilarious. She helped us figure out all the small details, and she was patient with us when we were indecisive/confused. Plus, she was just a fun person to be around, which is a very nice bonus! From my point of view, the wedding day went so smooth, which likely means Jennifer was hard at work in the background. Finally, the area of Cohasset is so cute! The Inn is located in the heart of the little town where there are a few cute shops/restaurants. And you're very close to the beach! I will warn, it's a small, mostly residential town. So ubers aren't going to be readily available for your guests, and out of town guests might want to rent a car. We had the majority of our guests stay at the Nantasket Beach Resort in Hull & provided a bus for them to/from the wedding. I'd definitely recommend that, especially if you do an open bar!So overall, would highly recommend the Red Lion Inn. The staff is great, the venue is stunning, the food is high quality, and the town is cute! My husband and I are looking forward to future anniversaries when we can go back and stay at the Inn again! Events are handled by Cohasset Hospitality Partners and they are amazing. From the very beginning my Event Producer (special shoutout to Krystel who’s truly the best) walked us through everything in great detail, was attentive, knowledgeable, and ALWAYS available when we had questions and was quick to respond. She understood the ‘vibe’ I was going for, worked directly with my vendors, and made me and the entire wedding party feel such at ease so I had nothing to worry about the day-of. The day went off without a hitch and the timeline stayed on track. All of our guests had nothing but great things to say as well; the bartenders and servers were so kind. The Innkeeper, Andrew, is great too – the whole wedding party stayed at the Inn the might of our wedding and he was available 24/7 to help (he even helped call Ubers at 1am for our guests who stayed late in The Cave for the afterparty). Gillian Kirsch(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-12-2020 The Red Lion is such a beautiful venue and in such an amazing quaint area. Our wedding was scheduled for December 5, 2020. Because of covid we had to get creative. The RLI was super accommodating and so helpful figuring everything out in such a crazy time. We were able to keep our December 5, 2020 wedding date. We worked with Jennifer McGuire for the December event. She was so easy to deal with and helped us through every step of planning the event and, despite all of the restrictions (and a nor’easter), it went off without a hitch. We had a small ceremony with about 25 people. We used the barn for the ceremony, a quick cocktail “hour,” and a beautiful intimate dinner. We then pushed our big reception out to July 2021. We were able to have a vow renewal ceremony, a big dinner, and a real party, with all of our friends and family who couldn’t be there with us in December. There was a change in management between our two events, but that had no impact on the quality of the RLI and its staff. We worked with Jennifer Crook for our July event. Tia Levins(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-05-2021 It pains me to give this beautiful venue only 3 stars because I had dreamed of getting married here since the first wedding I attended there years ago. However, pre COVID we were assigned an awful coordinator (Sharada) who was terrible at communication, was never prepared for meetings/phone calls with us (would even show up or call late) and literally made our wedding planning experience a nightmare. Then add COVID to the mix and it became even more difficult because she wouldn’t respond to us, wouldn’t give straight forward advice on how or if we should proceed with things, and when it came time to get a new contract for our rescheduled date she kept changing things for no reason and seemed like she was trying to sneak things past us - tried to raise the food and beverage minimum, put that we owed more money than we actually did, raised the admin fee, just to give a few examples. After months of dealing with Sharada we tried to speak to the manager Claire about our frustrations and she completely shrugged us off and instead of listening to why we were so frustrated she said she “didn’t need to hear any more” and tried to defend Sharada like we were making all these things up. Now after reading other reviews, it sounds like these were frequent complaints about Sharada. In December 2020 a new team took over the event producing as they call it so we were assigned a new coordinator. Thankfully he was a lot better than our original coordinator and helped make our experience better for the last few months of planning after having to postpone our original wedding date. Our wedding day was beautiful in the end, but we went through A LOT of complications to get there. Reviewed on 29-05-2021

We were beyond excited to book our July 2020 wedding at the Red Lion Inn - a dream venue! We had booked only 6 months out, so we felt so fortunate to lock down such a beautiful venue at such short notice. We worked with Sharada for the next few months, she was absolutely wonderful to work with. Always responsive and very helpful as we worked through the wedding planning process. Unfortunately, COVID had other plans and we ended up having to cancel our dream wedding at the Red Lion Inn. We were completely devastated as you can imagine but thankfully, working with Claire and Sharada, they made it less painful on us. They worked with us for several months, trying to come up with alternative options/ways to carry on with our wedding, but ultimately, we had to cancel due to state restrictions around weddings. Side note * We had been to a wedding at the Red Lion Inn before and SEVERAL guests, including myself, said that it was the BEST wedding dinner we have ever had. Leah Slade(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2019 We held our wedding at the Red Lion Inn on New Years Eve 2019 - for 250 people. We had attended weddings at RLI prior, and loved the space! I think the uniqueness of the property really lends well to hosting a larger wedding. Our guests really loved that they were able to walk the property between the Lion's Hall and the Salon! We had some concerns about weather - but the staff was quick to set-up heating lamps and the cold did not seem to affect a single guest!Top three things that our guests raved about were the venue itself, the amazing food, and the attentiveness of the staff. Since partnering with Catered Affair - it seems that he food has really improved - and we can attest! Multiple guests commented on how perfectly their steak was cooked and how delicious the fish and veggie options are. It can be complex to cook 250 perfect steaks and deliver them to tables still perfectly cooked! Additionally, bartenders were able to handle the crowd of drinkers on NYE - no easy feat! We got much feedback that servers and bartenders were willing to go out of their way to assist folks with multiple random requests.Lastly - we worked with Jen and Toufik - and I could not have imagined getting through the wedding day without them! Not only did they keep things organized and on time, but they also dealt with all vendors, set-up, and wedding party concerns all day with smiles on their faces! As a bride, this was hugely helpful in calming my nerves, knowing they were taking care of everything! They went out of their way to ensure we got to tase all of the food, always had drinks in our hands, and kept us up-to-date on things throughout the night! Theresa Navarra(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-11-2019 I walked into the barn at the Red Lion Inn in late August of 2018 and let out a pretty audible gasp. My husband and I wanted a September wedding. We left that day telling Jen to hold November 9 - it was the last remaining Saturday of 2019. My husband says he \"knew for sure\" we were going to leave that day and I was going to pick that venue. If you're looking for rustic, if you're looking for a little glam, if you're looking for a venue that has everything you need in one place - then this is your venue. I was (and still am) in love with the fact that your girls can get ready the morning of the wedding in the Salon while your florist sets up the barn. I love that you can book the rooms in the Inn for your family and bridal party and that the Bridal Suite is just above the barn. I love that the Cohasset Harbor Inn is owned by the same owners so you can have your rehearsal dinner in the same town and reserve a room block for your guests. I love that when the reception is over you have an after-party right on the same venue. I LOVE the way the entire venue looks for photos... and the covered bridges, AH. Just stunning. But most importantly, I love the venue and how gorgeous it is and how the staff at the Red Lion Inn truly make you feel like you're the onlly bride in the world. Working with Jen, I always knew she had 5736 other weddings, but it never felt that way when we were talking. She gave my wedding full attention to detail (and I had a LOT of details) and was always willing to help with a recommendation for anything I needed from a vendor to whether or not I had too many appetizers. Working with Jen felt like I was working with a friend, to be honest. I felt honestly as if she wanted my wedding day to be perfect, and I've been a bridesmaid enough times to know that you don't always get that with a venue or a coordinator. The weekend of the wedding Jen was there every step of the way from our rehearsal to dinner to the set up and with me until I was down the aisle fixing my (LONG) train and then with me again through the night. Plus, the man of the hour Toufik was always there ensuring that every detail was perfect and making sure whatever I needed was within my reach. The Red Lion Inn is truly the best of them when it comes to wedding venues and I cannot recommend a better place to get married. The venue was everything my dreams were made of, but without the staff making it perfect for me, it would not have been the wedding weekend it was. I am already planning our first trip back for a weekend getaway, sure it won't be a wedding but I can see the barn! If you're considering the Red Lion Inn, just do it. Reviewed on 01-12-2019
Bryce Kanzer(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-10-2019 Having our wedding at the Red Lion Inn was the best decision we could have ever made. Everything about our day exceeded our expectations. The first huge advantage is that the Red Lion is a beautiful indoor venue, so the weather was never a worry during our planning process. Our late October wedding day was pouring rain and it didn’t matter.. in fact it created a very cozy feel to the whole Inn and we couldn’t have been happier. The venue is absolutely gorgeous inside and out and being there is like being transported to a vintage European chateau. Sharada and the whole staff were wonderful to work with. Our wedding coordinator was not the greatest to be honest though, Sharada was very nice when we met in person but appeared to be over worked and not very responsive with questions emailed over, we didn’t find our much of the info until 1 month before our wedding. I set up everything on my own and did not see Sharada until she needed to come for a payment for cave snacks that should have already been in our total but she forgot it, then day of she approached me for this payment with a random $500 admin fee which I was not informed of prior to this day of on my wedding day. Sharada also informed us that the boys could hang out in the patio area when we booked which was something that was important to us and day of they kept getting kicked out of every where they tried to hang out one of the managers even threatened to “cancel the wedding” which I felt was inappropriate because we were told one year prior and again at our final meeting that the boys and groomsmen could hang at the patio and little room near there morning of the wedding. Throughout our planning process, Sharada helped us out. She was very extremely organized, very quick to respond via email or phone call and was extremely attentive to detail on the weekend of the event. Most of our guests stayed at the Cohasset Harbor Inn, our party and parents stayed at the Red Lion Inn. Andrew at the Cohasset Harbor Inn was extremely accommodating to our guests, a lot of who came from out of the country. Creating the wedding block was manageable and easy to set up with the help of Sharada and Andrew. The Red Lion was extremely clean. Windows were clean, floors were vacuumed and polished, the guest rooms were in pristine shape. Food at the wedding came our steaming hot (which I cannot say that has ever happened to me at any of the weddings I have attended previously). It was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. As my husband and I went around to tables, almost all of our guests had fully finished (literally every bit eaten...) their plates. Everyone loved it! During our tasting we took our mothers and the four of us left so pleasantly surprised. The food options were incredible. Delicious and something new in each meal. We had a minor miscommunication on my part with tables and the night of we were a few seats short, Sharada handled it with ease and grace. We were not even aware of the mistake until after the reception. The night of the wedding Toufik was absolutely incredible! He was so attentive to my husband and I and to our families. Toufik's attention to detail was amazing. He even brought up dessert, champagne and snacks to our room for after the wedding! Sharada and her staff put our decorations up for us the day of. They were simply put, just perfect. We had our after party in the \"Cave\". It was perfect! No one had to leave the grounds of the RLI, though those who wanted to go back to the Cohasset Harbor Inn could go in the shuttle that was run. We had snacks at the afterparty (sliders and chicken fingers) that were excellent. If you have ALLERGIES, do not even worry. I have a severe nut allergy and have family members with celiacs disease. The kitchen was nut free and they were extremely cautious with it. For the gluten free meals, the chefs prepared delicious meals. Though we are sad our wedding planning journey with Sharada at the Red Lion Inn is over, we look forward to returning to this magical place! Toufik, the wedding captain, was beyond accommodating and so helpful! He really is a gem and the day would not of gone so greatly without him or Jen doing all that they did! The bartenders, Dave & Cody, and all of the wait staff were absolutely amazing and took care of all our guests beyond what we could of ever asked for! Everyone hasn't been able to stop raving about how excellent and tasty all of the food was! I especially loved how everything was all under one roof. The day before the wedding we went for the rehearsal and everyone was able to meet in the pub for some welcome drinks. I stayed in the inn that night with all of my bridesmaids so the next morning I was able to get up early and use the salon for myself and all my girls to get glammed up and hang out for the day! My husband and his groomsmen had a room too where they could get ready and hang out before everything kicked off. We chose to have our ceremony in the stunning Lions Hall which was perfect and saved us booking transportation to a separate location! The cocktail hour was held upstairs in the barn and the passed hors d'oeuvres were flowing!! The reception went off without a hitch, all the meals were hot and delicious! Dave & Cody were able to keep up with all of the drinks and made a awesome signature cocktail for us! It was so fun being able to just go downstairs to \"The Cave\" for our after party where there were late night snacks, more drinks and some karaoke! Most of our guests stayed at either the Red Lion Inn or the Cohasset Harbor Inn, and a free shuttle was provided to us because of the about of rooms we blocked so it was another thing I did not have to worry about and everyone got somewhere safely! If you are considering getting married here, DO IT!! The Lions Hall is absolutely breathtaking and being able to do whatever you like decoration wise is so nice to put your own spin on it!! Also, make sure to ask for Jen, you won't be disappointed!! Reviewed on 03-01-2019

Leeza Birdwell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-09-2018 Having our wedding and reception at the RLI was the best decision of our wedding plans. I was skeptical of former reviews, but after meeting Bill ( who later became our coordinator) and seeing the Lion's Hall, we knew this was the right place for us. Our wedding experience was exactly like Bill said it would be - we were WOW-ed. Bill was fantastic and always available during the planning process. I could contact him any time of day (or night) and get a quick and friendly response back. He kept me excited for our wedding day celebrations. Most importantly, I can say that our wedding day itself was stress-free. I was a bride with a cold. Bill brought me endless tea with lemon and honey while we prepared for the day. I will never forget that thoughtfulness and attention to detail. The night was seamless and the next day, the staff helped us get everything back together. Everyone always says to expect something to go wrong. Well, the Red Lion Inn had everything under control and everything went off without a hitch. Our wedding planner there, Jen, was great to work with throughout the process. The day of the wedding, I could totally relax and enjoy the day because she and Toufik took care of every detail. The barn was the perfect setting with rustic elegance. The food was amazing in taste and presentation. The guests commented on the abundance of hot hors d'oeuvres and that their meals were delicious, served promptly, and at the perfect temperature. We had the after party in the quaint atmosphere of the Brasserie Zapp and the fun continued. We ordered pizza and it was excellent! Wish I had ordered more. Dominique H.(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2018 I cannot say enough about how amazing this place is to have a wedding! Honestly, I wish I could get married again just to be in the space and with the amazing staff all over again. Everything about this place is spectacular. We were married in late August of 2018. Our coordinator, Jen, was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She was always calm, patient, kind, and helpful. We made several changes leading up to the wedding, including on the very morning, with seating and setup. Jen remembered everything and made us feel so comfortable. She, along with the banquet coordinator, Toufik, kept everything smooth and fun and relaxed on the day of the wedding. They were both on top of things and the day wouldn't have been as amazing without these two in particular. I did not get the names of the amazing staff who helped out that night, but every single one was kind, professional, and helpful. The venue itself has such character and natural beauty that we did very little in terms of decorations, which was another way to keep our whole wedding stress-free. We had a non-traditional wedding and Jen and co. were so open and supportive of our creative and ever-evolving ideas. The rooms are fun, the grounds are enchanting, and Cohasset feels like a nice respite from the city without being too far away from Boston/Cambridge. We probably looked at every barn in New England that holds wedding ceremonies, and this one was the closest to the city and the best value for what we paid. I cannot recommend the Red Lion Inn enough. And oh...the food...absolutely AMAZING! In short: GET MARRIED HERE. You will not regret it. Reviewed on 20-09-2018
Jess M(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-09-2018 The Red Lion Inn is a stunning spot to get married. We were so fortunate to have our wedding there. Clearly the venue itself is gorgeous - you have free reign to add your own touches to the room for your ceremony & reception, but even if you didn't it would still look amazing. All of our guests were raving about the food, it was so good! The chefs are accommodating to any dietary restrictions/allergies we let them know of as well. On the day of your wedding, it's nice to have the \"Salon\" and \"yellow room\" for the bridal parties to get ready in. They are larger spaces which make for a fun day leading up to the big event, as opposed to just getting ready in the hotel rooms. The Cave (after-party room) is also an awesome option to have since most venues have a cutoff time of 11pm. This way you and your guests can continue the fun downstairs. We are hesitant to give all 5 stars because we did run into some issues with delays in communication, confusion with the room blocks, and instances where we found we were being over charged for prices we had already discussed - which got to be frustrating. However, the day went off without a hitch, and will be one that us & our guests will remember forever!Thank you so much for having us :) Reviewed on 16-09-2018
S D(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-04-2018 Let's just say that Red Lion Inn is a beautiful venue, has great food and has Tofik working for them, that's the ONLY three things that they have going for them. We were drawn to how beautiful the space was but it was a hassle to get anything done. To be honest, once we paid them, the email responses stopped and it was impossible to get a response to things. Sharada is not professional at all and rude...based on previous reviews we had read, she was supposed to be one of the good planners. We were planning our wedding from out of town and it was impossible to set up a meal tasting. Sharada was not understanding or accommodating. We literally called and emailed her numerous times to try and set up a time. She never picked up the phone and any responses to our email would sometimes take over a week. Some questions she never even bothered answering. At first we gave her the benefit of the doubt but this ended up being a regular trend. Tofik (sorry for spelling) is absolutely amazing! If only he could have been our planner. He was there the day before the wedding and day of and we couldn't have been more pleased with his support. He even helped set up the day before the wedding without any hesitation...we didn't even ask him to help but he insisted to help us; such a caring guy!!! Truly grateful for him!! He clearly deserves a raise. One of the worst parts about them was that they tried to add on additional charges without our permission. After the wedding, we were sent an bill for additional charges from Sharada which was NOT true. Thankfully, we included a clause in our contract that stated that additional charges must be ok'ed with us first...which they did not. We were just blown away that Sharada would try to scam us in the end. Make sure that if you have your wedding here to have every little detail in the contract!!!!! In summary, the venue itself is beautiful...just a a lot of added stress from the people (except Tofik). Reviewed on 02-09-2018

Our wedding coordinator, Sharada and her staff were very helpful, and attentive to our needs. For us it was the best value - The quality and service was excellent and they accommodated our budget. For what we paid we found we got the most and best quality included. Gorgeous rustic venue with lots of space. Food was excellent. We did not do a food tasting because we've heard such good things about their food and wanted a 5th hors d'oeuvre which they have as an option if you skip the tasting. Also very convenient with their after party space, and rooms for people to stay overnight. I lost/forgot my wedding shoes the night of and they found them and kept them safe for me to pick up. Never had any issues with management. We had the pool open on our day which added a very nice touch. Only negatives- they were doing a lot of ground keeping work the day of and felt the cement walkways could have been cleaned up a bit better, also at the end of the night one of the staff put our card box in our bridal suite alone which I was not comfortable with- It was a lack of communication on both ends. Lastly, there was a slight mixup on one our guests room reservation and they missed the shuttle to the CHI so to make up for the mix-up one of the staff drove the couple to the other Inn which was kind.We truly had a very positive experience and highly consider the RLI for your wedding! ❤️ Reviewed on 26-05-2018

We had our wedding at the Red Lion Inn over Labor Day Weekend this past year and it was everything we could have ever dreamed of. Beverlei MacNeal was a professional in coordinating and planning the entire evening and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. We had worked with a number of different coordinators during our planning time at Red Lion Inn, which was initially very concerning to us, but thankfully from our very first conversation with Beverlei we knew we were in extremely good hands and she made sure everything was just as we envisioned. I had a lot of complicated requests for the wedding including specific placement of lanterns throughout the barn, rental of farm tables from a third party, specific requests on serving, charger plate rentals, detailed flower arrangements, assigned seats for guests, and a floral chandelier above the dance floor. Beverlei made sure everything was perfectly set up and went above and beyond to make it the very best night for us. She collaborated directly with all the other vendors for delivery and set-up and when guests arrived at 6pm for cocktail hour, the venue looked absolutely beautiful and every little thing I had planned was perfectly executed. The hors d’oeuvres were amazing and the raw bar and cheese stations were a big hit. Beverlei made great recommendations on menu selections and the timeline of the night. Beverlei also made sure the meal serving was perfectly coordinated, and even made adjustments when speeches/first dances went longer than expected. All of the members of the wait and bartending staff that night were extremely pleasant and helpful. Beverlei even special ordered bottles of red wine from the groom’s homestate, which meant so much to us. Our family and bridal party all stayed at the inn on the night of our wedding. The rooms were clean and beautifully maintained when we stayed there. Rim, the innkeeper was extremely helpful and also made sure to meet our very specific requests about room bookings, payment, and welcome bags. After the reception, we went back to our bridal suite and within minutes Toufik brought us a bottle of champagne with our special toasting flutes, slices of our cake, our wedding gifts, and all of the special items that had been at the reception. It was so nice of him to make sure everything was handled carefully and it gave us such peace of mind that night. We hosted the brunch at the Cohasset Harbor Inn on Sunday morning and the space was perfect for all our guests and the food was delicious. Red Lion Inn truly provided the wedding of our dreams. The barn looked enchanted, warm, inviting, beautiful, all of the food was delicious. Everyone had a wonderful time dancing the night away. We toured many other venues throughout the South Shore and Boston area and Red Lion Inn was the most unique and inviting space we came across. It was exactly what we were looking for and we were able to add touches to the barn that made it feel truly magical. Beverlei was a joy to work with. She was transparent, responsive, easy to talk to, honest, genuine, hard-working, and reassuring. She made wonderful suggestions and also made sure my voice and desires were heard throughout the process and ultimately went above and beyond. We would highly recommend the Red Lion Inn and are so grateful to everyone there who made our wedding day so perfect. Thank you!Meghan and ChristianSeptember 2, 2017 Reviewed on 17-02-2018

The day and evening was perfect and our guests have had nothing but great things to say about the entire event. The venue is beautiful. The coastal rustic feel of the entire property and town of Cohasset really fit our personality and needs. The ambiance of the barn at night was unreal. If you are looking to have an \"all in one\" experience at your wedding, this is a great option. That is what we did; Ceremony, reception, lodging, after party...it was awesome and took a lot of the logistical stress off us.Pros: Beautiful venue (all seasons, all weather), great food, and accomodating staff (especially once we were within 30 days of our wedding). The day of coordination was excellent. Our wedding planner/coordinator was Sharada and she did an excellent job! Getting married on a Friday evening was great; we had plenty of time to setup the venue throughout the week, and we did save some $$. The vendor coordination was also easy and stress free.Cons: While Sharada and the venue staff were great, it is obvious that the leadership/ business process at the Red Lion needs work. We had several incidents during the planning process (no communication about staff turnover, inconsistent info about pricing, and a lost check...). The events were not deal breakers, but it was frustrating and caused unnecessary redundancy. They need to tighten up the admin side of things.Overall, an amazing place and an amazing day! Ashley Aiken(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-10-2017 This is one of the more challenging reviews we’ve had to write following our wedding. First and most importantly, our wedding weekend was INCREDIBLE and the Red Lion Inn was an absolutely HUGE factor in that; all we’ve heard from our guests is how beautiful and wonderful the entire day was. Beverlei (our wedding coordinator at the RLI) was so attentive and she organized her team to deliver above and beyond anything we ever could have hoped for (Note: If you plan on having your wedding at the RLI, we HIGHLY recommend working with Beverlei, specifically). The bride and bridesmaids got ready in the Salon starting at 8 am, and the groom and groomsmen ordered food to the Yellow room and played cornhole / watched football in the Braserie for the afternoon. Toufiq did an outstanding job setting up the Lion’s Hall for our ceremony (he somehow fit 225 seats on the first floor in what was the most intimate ceremony we could imagine) and then transformed it for the reception in under an hour. Our cocktail hour was held in the Salon and outside by the pool, then we headed back to the Lion’s Hall for the reception. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the food and service throughout; the RLI staff were very pleasant and seemed to be having fun. The cherry on top was that we were able to continue the party in the Cave until 1 am, and the late night food and service were just as great as they had been all day. We truly could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day. While our wedding was absolutely wonderful, we did have our challenges with the RLI leading up to it. Our first wedding coordinator sold us on having our wedding there and then was not reachable for 3 months. He promised us a number of things that we ultimately found out the RLI would not be able to deliver, but we did not have them in writing. Our second coordinator was very understanding of the challenges we had with the first, and we were able to script an addendum to the contract that listed point by point what we expected the RLI to deliver that they signed. However, when we went for our “final details” meeting a month before our wedding, the coordinator pulled out a blank piece of paper, and a week later we found out that she coordinator was no longer with the RLI, and many of the details we had discussed with her the week before for the 3rd time had been lost, at which time we found out Beverlei was our new coordinator. Again, Beverlei delivered a beautiful event and we would very highly recommend working with her, but the turnover and lack of continuity we experienced was very, very frustrating.Again, we cannot say enough great things about our wedding day at the Red Lion Inn, and Beverlei was such a blessing. Thank you to her, Toufiq, and the rest of the RLI staff for an absolutely beautiful wedding! Reviewed on 18-11-2017

She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. Jen was extremely responsive to all emails and calls and is so organized. She met with my mother and I several times in order to get in all of the details! The Red Lion is so lucky to have her on board as one of their coordinators. I must be honest, the beginning of my planning process with the Red Lion was not the smoothest. There was unfortunately quick turn over in coordinators/management and we had a very hard time getting in touch with someone when we had questions and were in the planning process. Once Jen came on board that quickly changed. She made the entire process so easy!!The Red Lion Inn surpassed my expectations in all areas. The food was outstanding. Our family and friends are still raving about it! Everything was delicious, full of flavor and presented beautifully. The service was also great! Bar and wait staff were extremely responsive to guests and were very pleasant :) After the reception, we had the after party in \"The Cave\" and continued the celebrations. We had buffalo chicken and pizza served down there which was great! It was such a fun night. I would also like to thank the staff Toufig (hopefully I spelled that correctly) for being extremely helpful during the reception/after party and in the morning. He also went out of his way to deliver some of our cupcakes with a bottle of champagne to our room for after the festivities. Thank you so much!Everything came together so well. From the very beginning the coordinator we worked with, Sharada, was very responsive and great to work with. The night of support staff was also wonderful from the bartenders and servers, but also, Toufik, who really helped make the barn look exactly how we pictured. They even made it possible to find a very specific beer my fiance and i really enjoy that is difficult to find. They really know what they are doing with weddings being held at their venue and we found they are really flexible in letting you make the day what you want. I also like that when we were unsure of a decision, Sharada, was really able to help make great recommendations that really fit with our vision. There was initially some confusion with booking hotel rooms, but about half way throughout planning there was one contact we worked with specifically, which made it much easier and more organized. Alyssa Seeto(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-07-2017 Brides and grooms, plan for your perfect day elsewhere! This location has the most beautiful barn and atmosphere, but it is completely overrated. The cost of our ceremony and reception at the Red Lion Inn should have paid for a seamless day, enthusiastic planner, and attention to detail by the venue’s staff. Instead, my husband and I were passed off between six different wedding coordinators due to turnover at the Red Lion. Every coordinator had something different to tell us, and we had to fight for so much of what we wanted and needed on our wedding day. We experienced high volumes of stress, anxiety, and frustration at the fault of the venue and staff...they are so disorganized and clueless, and I can’t express how disappointed we were with the customer service. We were both still running around on our wedding day, making sure that plans were in motion and looking for assistance from anybody. We were also quoted multiple discounts because we were looking at an off-season Sunday and my fiance is a veteran. However, during the actual process of negotiating the contract, the owner went back on some of the details we were told verbally, and we got really bad feelings. Needless to say we jumped ship and decided to book at a venue in Scituate that is more beautiful and the owners are straightforward and easy to work with. All of the meals, hor’ dourves, etc. that we had were absolutely delicious!!We also had an after party in The Cave and this too was AWESOME!! We ordered the cheeseburger sliders and the chicken fingers and fries for late night snacks and they were SO good! Our guests raved about the cave the next day! The day really does go by so fast that it was awesome to be able to continue the celebration for a few more hours after the wedding! The food was a huge hit and everyone ate all of it!The staff at the Red Lion works extremely hard and are all so friendly!!! The Red Lion and all of their staff have really thought of everything to make the day as smooth as possible! When we were looking at venues, we knew we wanted something rustic and that we wanted to have an after party. The fact that the Lion’s Hall is the most beautiful venue we saw, they have The Cave where all your guests have to do is walk downstairs after and they have hotel rooms there, this was a no brainer for us and boy are we happy we decided to go with the Red Lion! Kati Whidden(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-10-2018 It's hard for me to write this review because there were so many GREAT parts of having our wedding at the Red Lion, but there are also a lot that didn't go as smoothly as we would've liked. Cons: When we first booked this venue, we had a wedding coordinator named Madysen who seemed so excited to begin this wedding process with us. When I called her a few weeks later to ask a question, the receptionist informed me that she no longer worked there. Following this, we tried to schedule time to come look at the venue for planning purposes and there was another wedding coordinator in charge. I think her name was Lauren. After many phone calls and emails, it was obvious that our needs weren't being heard. Bill tried to pick up the pieces but to no avail. Six months before our big day, Cory Lee stepped in as our planner. Cory Lee kept reassuring us that she wasn't leaving and she was here to make things right. Unfortunately, she left a month before our wedding and only sent us a letter to let us know about this big change. Following this, Beverlei stepped in after coming back from retirement. It was clear she wanted to make things right and she really tried to do so. Seeing that we had to go through four or so coordinators, I feel like we could've been financially compensated for the stress we went through, especially since the Red Lion is quite expensive. Beverlei was able to take off $500 from our bill which was helpful, but it really didn't make a dent in the $25,000 or so that we had already paid. On the day of the wedding, Beverlei tried her best but seemed very stressed as she sought my advice when asking how to set my decorations up. Overall, she tried hard and I appreciate that. I just wish that I was only given ONE coordinator because conversations were repeated and requests were lost along the way. I felt like I was going through the entire planning process on my own with no direction, and I don't wish this on any future bride out there. The communication at the front desk definitely needs fixing. My guests tried calling in to book their rooms, and it was a process. They seemed disorganized, frantic, and flighty every time I called or one of my guests. We blocked out some rooms for $1,500 in advance, but it still was a nightmare. Pros: The day of the wedding was magical and everything went smoothly. Thanks to the GREAT bartenders named Cara and Cody, we felt that our prayers were finally answered. They were professional, efficient, and understanding the whole night. When we went to the cave for the \"after party\ Reviewed on 17-08-2017
megan w(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-07-2017 We chose Red Lion Inn for it's gorgeous Lion's Hall and convenient location. We worked with Sharada Ford who made the whole process seamless and stress free. On the day Sharada managed the bridesmaids and groomsmen, ensuring everyone was where they were supposed to be at the right time. We chose the cave for an after party which was a great decision for a more intimate group of friends to celebrate together. The best surprise of the evening was coming back to our bridal suite to realize the staff at the red lion had collected all of our gifts and cards as well as cut two pieces of cake and brought a bottle of champagne to our room. It was a cherry on top of a perfect night to come back to. The inn has old world charm and if you're someone who can appreciate that- it's a great choice! Reviewed on 31-07-2017
Maura Yodzio(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-07-2017 This place is an absolute nightmare. Yes, the venue is beautiful, but it is NOT WORTH IT compared to the amount of stress and frustration you will feel while working with the staff. Their staff is incredibly unprofessional and VERY rude. They are not just rude to you, but they are rude to your guests. Since putting our deposit down about a two years ago, my husband and I went through THREE different wedding coordinators. The one we had for the day of seemed helpful and pleasant at first, but truly could have cared less about the event on the actual day. Trying to coordinate a room block with them is also an absolute nightmare. We booked the entire hotel to use for our guests, but somehow two of the rooms ended up going to other guests completely unconnected to our wedding. It is very hard for your guests to even get in contact with someone at the Inn because there is rarely anyone working behind the desk. Do not choose this venue for your wedding. It just is NOT WORTH IT. Reviewed on 25-07-2017

There was some staff turnover in the beginning and some misinformation along the way, but we ended up working with Sharada Ford who was DEFINITELY the right person for us! She was professional, courteous, prompt, and kind. We, our families, and bridal party stayed at the RLI all weekend. It was just beyond what we could have wanted. The rooms and service was excellent, the bar staff in the restaurant was WONDERFUL and very accommodating to when we'd barge in as a group of 20 all needing appetizers and drinks. Anna Gawlik(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-07-2013 From the moment we stepped into the barn at the Red Lion Inn we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. The venue has so much character and such warmth, it was exactly what we wanted for our vintage/DIY wedding. We started off with a wedding planner from the Red Lion who had to take a medical leave half way through our event planning and just when we started to painic, Beverlei stepped in. I cannot say enough about how amazing she was. She was not only better than our original wedding planner, but she was organized, took time to get to know us and become our friend, and really have our special day be everything we wanted and more. She responded to emails and phone calls quickly, met with us often and put our minds at ease. We did not worry one bit about our reception, which is key when you are trying to plan multiple vendors, guests, etc. for your wedding. Having her handle everything was a big “to do” off our plate and we were so thankful for her. When the day finally came, we stepped into the barn and everything was set up exactly how we wanted it. Beverlei paid attention to all of our details and made them really shine. The staff the day of our wedding was also amazing, the food was delicious, and I cannot say enough about the giant dance floor. Everyone danced through the night, which was exactly what we wanted. After the reception was over, we rented out “The Cave” and had more food and time with guests, as we did not want the day to end. Another positive of having your wedding at the Red Lion was that guests could stay right onsite and not have to worry about driving afterwards. I highly recommend having your wedding at the Red Lion and having Beverlei as your planner. I wish I could relive the day. Guests still tell us it was the best wedding they have ever been to and I may be bias, but could not agree more! Reviewed on 01-06-2017
Brandon Dellechiaie(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-04-2017 RLI was the first & only venue we visited before booking our wedding for 4/15/17. I am beyond happy with feedback from guests & my own personal experience.RLI is a stunning venue & easily sells itself. The food is amazing. The rooms are adorable. The unknowns are always THE PEOPLE who manage the process & how they communicate and execute before - during your event is key. My decision for choosing RLI was person #1, Bill I. Bill sealed the deal for me and definitely didn’t tell me everything I wanted to hear nor did he agree to things he simply couldn’t do. We negotiated hard at the beginning but what truly sold me was his was openness to working with me and he was committed to finding solutions to meet my budget. He didn’t turn me away and he was patient (in the midst of 300 things going on) & gave me the attention I needed during the first crucial conversations. In addition, Bill gave advice on reception/ceremony music & script, food choices, reception/cocktail tips. I was open & appreciated Bill’s expert feedback because they were great & made a huge difference! I’ll be honest, I was worried that my wishlist/ wedding plan on the actual day would not come to fruition but as I mentioned earlier, the venue sold itself but the people sold me. Person #2, Kacee B. deserves recognition. Kacee spent a lot of time with me to get up to speed on my plan & what was agreed upon (see suggestion re: revising contract). Kacee was efficient & even though we made some slight modifications - she came through with flying colors & did a wonderful job. I appreciated her patience, responsiveness, courtesy & hard work. During the day, I spotted her running around, working her butt off! In my opinion, she went above & beyond. There were others @RLI that deserve kudos (terrible w/names) the waitstaff, cooks, KB's asst, recep staff, housekeeping, maint., bar staff, etc. were all truly impressive & I cannot thank them enough for making our day absolutely perfect.Helpful Tips!1. RLI is a one stop shop for weddings, year round & there isn't a real peak/off peak time. Therefore, if you have a tight budget, consider time & day of event & check out the Salon as a location. We had ceremony/cocktail hour (late afternoon) in Barn & Reception in Salon. It was perfection. Approx. 100 guests & perfect size/room! 2. There wasn’t a wedding booked night before or night of our wedding when we initially booked but there was a few months later. For planning purposes, if you want rooms at RLI,they are great) you might want to lock those down early.3. In retrospect, I would have gotten revised contract w/agreed upon changes (I changed time/room). The sales rep will likely transfer info to day of coord. & this just makes life easier. Plus, I booked a year ahead so there were things I forgot about & trusted would happen. The result might only be some added time to review details again later on. Either way, RLI will do everything they can to capture your wedding vision & understand prior to big day.4. After party snacks: Order sliders! I still cannot get over how good the sliders were and my guests who stayed are still talking about them! 5. Choose vendors that are experienced with RLI! Your photographer, dj, makeup/hair, flower delivery, etc. I didn’t want to think on wedding day nor did I have time to. I truly appreciated the vendors knowing RLI. Reviewed on 08-05-2017
Amie Lytle(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-12-2016 We had a wonderful wedding at the Red Lion Inn and ultimately I am happy that we picked this location. We are especially grateful we got married in December during the off-peak season. I was so grateful that there wasn't a wedding on Friday or during the day on Saturday. It would be too stressful to have a million weddings go on in this space. The wedding was beautiful and we were able to stay over both nights at the inn which made it incredibly convenient. I highly recommend continually checking in to make sure they are holding your room and the rooms of your guests because they seem to be very disorganized. And you can't book it right away, but I would call on the day they say it will be available to book otherwise you may miss out. (We were warned.) The grounds are stunning and the barn is really unique and fun. The downside is communication. They seem to be wildly understaffed. I had a really difficult time getting ahold of Bill and sometimes didn't hear back for over a month (during the summer.) His voicemail was constantly full so I couldn't even leave a message which was a little maddening. I felt bad that he seemed so overworked but at the same time, my family and I were paying a lot of money to be ignored. They need to hire more people. Bill was very on top of it the day of. Montilio's forgot the Mile High Pie that we were going to cut and he managed to get us a regular apple pie which was a good save. Everything else went very well and people said their food was amazing! If they hire more people, I would definitely recommend hosting your wedding here. Reviewed on 02-01-2017
Jenny S(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2016 Stay away from this place. It's a beautiful barn but the staff and ownership are terrible. They fired our first event planner TWO months before our wedding and never even told us. Hours and hours of calling trying to get Bill on the phone to talk details! This is after we paid IN FULLThe morning after our wedding a hotel worker knocked on the BRIDAL SUITE door at 7AM telling us he had to check something in the room. Check out is at 10AM could this not have waited? Not a very romantic way to wake up on our first married morningBeers are $7 for a budlight bottle , wine is $12 a glass ...don't expect your guests to get drunk unless you have open bar. It is nearly impossible to get Bill on the phone or to respond to emails. The Red Lion Inn books so many weddings that they just do not care about you. I had to track bill down multiple times by calling every single day. They said when the dancing started they would dim the barn lights which we even practiced how exactly we wanted them...I had to go upstairs and dim the lights MYSELF! They never put the uplighting on the rocks even after had 4 separate detail meetings about this. After arriving back at the Red Lion from our wedding ceremony we were promised cocktail hour food and drinks to be waiting for us/ the wedding party. Not the case...I had to ask Katie to get the food and drinks for the wedding party and by the time she got back with the tray it was time to line up and head into the barn which led to hungry groomsmen and bridal party They increased the prices of hotel rooms for my guests from the time we signed our contract to actually having our wedding. We were called to come in for 4 different detail meetings with 3 different people each time. Each visit was like our first, who are you again? We paid in full 6 months before our wedding and they were still sending us bills in the mail up to the week before the wedding. We had guests who never received the steak I paid for. We also had guests never get served cake. We took home a half of cake the next day so we definitely did not run out. These are just a few of the things this venue screwed up. Bill and his staff are a joke and should be working at a motel. I wouldn't trust them with your money or time. The owner is rude and thinks he's funny but he smelled like an ashtray and whiskey every time we met. He also has a secret room inside the hotel he stays in so even if you book the entire hotel he will be sleeping somewhere and tell management to have you \"keep the noise down\" a tad bit ridiculous when I rented the entire Inn. Jen (bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-08-2016 I'll start off with the positives: Red Lion Inn is a beautiful venue and exactly the vibe we were going for - rustic & elegant. We loved that we could have our cocktail hour, reception & after party all on site, but in unique spaces. It was also nice to be able to spend the weekend at RLI with our immediate families and bridal party, and have space for us all to get ready on the day of. But there were too many negatives to be able to give more than 2 stars (which may even be generous). I'll try to recap the main issues we faced in this limited space. First, they were incredibly poor communicators. Not long after we booked, our coordinator got fired (or quit, it was unclear; high turnover rate is a long standing issue). Nobody told us this until we had to ask outright at our food tasting where he was. (Not to mention, they double booked our tasting so it was disorganized and rushed. They even tried to reschedule it 2 days before, even though we had booked flights in order to be there.) Bill became our new point of contact and was very difficult to get in touch with. He often ignored emails/texts/calls, and/or his voicemail inbox was full. The lack of communication was incredibly frustrating and caused a lot of stress/anxiety throughout most of our planning with RLI. When we finally got time with Bill and requested going through our details spreadsheet again (and again...), twice he had an old version of the spreadsheet so we had to reconfirm the same details several times. Still, I can think of at least 3 details that they screwed up. Minor details that nobody noticed, but the fact that we went through the list so many times and they still missed things is telling. Bill works hard and would likely be very good at his job if he had help, but he was always giving excuses for his mistakes rather than trying to fix the broader issues. Along those lines, RLI is a wedding factory. They booked a wedding the night before ours as well as noon on the day of, which is typical during peak season. They made us feel like our wedding would not be their priority until the weekend of, and even then, they had two other weddings. On the day of, they weren't able to turn the reception space over in time after the noon wedding, despite assuring us they are experts and there would be no issue getting the room ready. Then it took them an hour to serve dinner (they were apparently understaffed in the kitchen), and as a result our vendors didn't eat until almost 9pm, so our dinner set playlist played at 9pm instead of during dinner. Fortunately, our band was incredible so our guests weren't aware of any issues and had an amazing time, but we (and our vendors) should not have had to deal with these issues during the event. Overall, the management was incredibly disorganized. They screwed up our final invoice, they screwed up our reservations at the inn more times than I can count , and there are different policies depending on whom you speak with. In the end, our wedding day was absolutely amazing, but this was largely despite RLI rather than because of it. We encourage prospective couples to look through old reviews on Yelp/Wedding Wire/The Knot, as well as google news articles for RLI and its owner. Most of the issues appear to be long standing. The venue is beautiful, but the management does not deliver the caliber of service to justify their prices. Unless they make some major fundamental improvements, we cannot in good faith recommend RLI to future couples. Reviewed on 08-11-2016

We were married here on 10/7/2016 on a Friday night with 210 people and we couldn't have asked for a more amazing day to start our new life together. This venue lets you create YOUR wedding - just the way YOU want it! I had a fairytale become my reality. This venue allows you make YOUR day- BUT you have to tell them WHAT YOU WANT! Red Lion Highlights- Appetizers/Food was amazing (we had entrees of short-rib, salmon, and chicken; open bar was exactly what we requested from beer to top shelf selections; Welcome bags were put in the room as requested; after-hours food was great- get the sliders!!! It was awesome!!Bill was my wedding planner and was extremely helpful from the beginning. We had many meetings to discuss each detail of the wedding. I had never planned a wedding and having this meeting was extremely helpful for me to develop all the details within the next 5 months of planning. But because the Red lion Inn has 3-4 weddings a week, I found it to be helpful to be organized with a time line to set the expectations with Bill. BUT he totally did NOT disappoint on the day of the wedding- from planning our appetizer plate at our cocktail hour, to getting our drinks throughout the night, to keeping this bride aware of time and the agenda throughout the wedding. The execution of all the details was FLAWLESS. Bill stepped up to the challenge of making our DAY AMAZING.... AND totally SUCCEEDED. Brides... one thing you need is patience overall. This place has many weddings and tries to accommodate all brides- which is one thing that is hard to do... but here are some suggestions of things to take note when choosing this place--Unless you are setting up or have people set up for you, you need to ensure that you have pictures and are very explicit on your decor set-up. The Red lion inn staff was there in the morning to clean up from the wedding the night before and even came in early to help us clean up the morning after. -CAVE is awesome for an after Party- I heard NO complaints from our guests. -Rooms are clean and not disappointing for those staying on site. -Had buses bring people from other hotels and no complaints but recommend to have buses wait at the venue later than you expect. -Red lion is very flexible- if you are wanting something- ASK. They either have it or don't have it. We had a projector to play a video and they had a projector screen. They had bistro lights for us to use. They had lanterns. They offer candles which made the amazing soft feel of the wedding.Just remember whatever happens before the wedding, as long as the wedding is perfect - it deserves a 5 star. The food was delicious and plentiful both during the cocktail hour and dinner, and was presented beautifully. I am giving a 5 star rating because my daughter and her new husband could not have been happier...and all the guests had so much fun and were raving about the venue, the food and the service. The only constructive criticism I would provide would be to add lighting outside the front entrance of the inn and to have a concierge in the front lobby throughout the evening. From the very first communication we had, to departing the day after. \r\rFirst off- Bill is a gift from above! My family and friends could not stop raving to me about what an amazing coordinator he is...which is not something that I would have even expected my family to pick up on. He was made for this career...he will make sure EVERY LAST DETAIL is handled, and that you have NOT A SINGLE THING to worry about. \r\rOur wedding party/close family stayed in the inn and rave about how unique the rooms were, and the fireplaces were SUCH a hit (it was BITTERLY cold that night). \r\rOur friends have all raved about the delicious food...personally I cannot stop thinking about the cocounut shrimp served at cocktail hour! \r\rThe waitstaff and bartenders are top-notch! Super efficient and friendly- some of the young serving staff even making it a point to find us and congratulate us at some point over the course of the evening. Mike, the bartender, is awesome...we met him the night before in the bar before our rehearsal and we knew immediately we would be in good hands. \r\rThe entire staff takes their jobs seriously, and were willing to pitch in whenever. My husband and I made a last minute decision not to join cocktail hour, and we were bummed we wouldn't be able to try the h'ordeuvres. Our head attendant (whose name is escaping me now) and Oscar (whose main responsibility is the front desk) rushed into action to make sure a plate was put together for us immediately. \r\rThe after-party in the cave was SUCH a unique touch, and our friends raved about it. No one wants the party to end after a wedding and people are always trying to corral the group to a bar or hotel room. The transition down to the cave for late night sliders was so smooth. You just plug in your own phone and continue to party....couldn't have been a better night! \r\rA final note on budget: \rWhen we first started looking at venues, the Red Lion Inn was immediately on my list. I had seen it featured on a website YEARS ago, and never forgot about it. However, for budget reasons I promised myself I would go look at a couple of more budget-friendly options. To me this meant local places that had held sports banquets for us in HS, etc. I was SHOCKED and pleasantly suprised to find that the Red Lion Inn is just as competitevly priced as a lot of these banquet hall type places. The value that you get at the Red Lion Inn can NOT be matched in my opinion. \r\r\rSorry if this review is all over the place, but I am just typing as I remember it all.... Reviewed on 14-03-2016

The hall at the Red Lion Inn is beautiful and was setup exactly as we had requested. They have a large number of options to chose from for decoration including the tables, chairs, linens and up-lighting options. We found the package deal offered for our reception to make organization much easier as it included all the food and wedding cake. The Red Lion Inn offers a food tasting day in advance of the wedding which allowed us to try all the food (all delicious!). We were also given a complimentary meal at the restaurant when visited the venue with our families. The venue also provides a wedding coordinator as part of the package - we had Elizabeth. Kimberly Cummings(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-09-2014 The Red Lion Inn was perfect for our wedding in every way. We were married in a garden ceremony on the property and then had our reception in the hall. It has a earthy, country feel but also very high end. The staff is perfection with service and not intrusive. My wedding coordinator left the Inn for personal reasons and the rest of the staff took over. There was one minor detail of the reception that did not go as we had planned with the cake being served instead of set out for people to help themselves. And I would love to know what happens to all the left over cake. We would have liked to have given the leftovers to guests and had hoped to take home the leftover elegant display appetizer. We were treated like royalty with the perfect amount of campaign and doting. I cannot imagine a more perfect day and we will always consider the Red Lion a very special place. Reviewed on 12-10-2014
