The Reserve on Dorrance Reviews
Danielle DiGioia(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 The choice to have our wedding ceremony and reception at the Dorrance in September 2018 was hands down the best wedding planning decision we had made. There has been a common theme in our guests feedback - the building was gorgeous, the food and drinks were delicious and the service was fantastic. No one waited hungry during the cocktail hour, everyone loved their dinner and the bartenders kept drinks flowing. The quality of the food and drinks far exceeded any “typical” wedding fare. The menu to choose from is expansive and was able to be customized to fit all of our requests and needs. From a brides perspective, Lindsay was my lifeline in the time leading up to our wedding. I must have emailed her a million times and she always replied expediently and fully answered every question I could think of. She coordinated everything from the ceremony and reception timeline, day of details like table numbers/place cards, and all the vendors coming in which was so amazing- I didn’t receive a single call with questions the day of because it was all handled. You are in such good hands with Lindsay as manager, I can’t sing her praises enough. Thank you so much for all your hard work Lindsay!Jean felt like my bridal fairy godmother day of. She helped me collect my emotions right before walking down the aisle and managed us throughout the night making sure we could eat and enjoy whatever food or drinks that we wanted. She told me that I’d have nothing to worry about on the day of and made good on that promise. We were going to Uber back to our hotel at the end of the night but Jean took the time to pack up her car and drive us- we can’t thank her enough! The team they have working at the Dorrance is so top notch. By the time we left it honestly felt like we had been working with family. The beauty of the venue speaks for itself but the people inside it are what made our wedding as special as it was. You will not regret booking with the Dorrance. Reviewed on 30-09-2018
Emma McGee(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2018 I took my new husband to The Dorrance on his birthday in May of 2015, and immediately stated upon walking in that this was the building I wanted to get married in. When we got engaged exactly 2 years later, we had decided by the end of the evening that we couldn’t possibly think of a more beautiful place to have our reception.I honestly cannot say enough about the incredible job that everyone at The Dorrance did for our special day. Lindsay, their event coordinator, was so helpful and extremely prompt in answering any and all of my questions. The waitstaff was very attentive, and everyone was wowed by the food. We were treated so well in our many meetings leading up to the event, and were very appreciative of the staff making sure we had appetizers to pick on when we arrived before the reception began. The whole day was so well thought out. The entire day went off without a hitch, and we could not be more pleased. We cannot wait to celebrate our many anniversaries to come over dinner here! Mary Alfieri(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-04-2017 We had our rehearsal dinner at the Dorrance and Lindsey was a joy to work with. Everything turned out perfect! I didn't want a formal sit down dinner and Lindsey was great about helping me come up with a menu that had plenty of heavy apps with all our favorite things (oysters, lobster rolls, pizza, charcuterie and more!). The upstairs area had plenty of seating for everyone to sit down to eat at their leisure but walk around and mingle as they wanted. We then opened up the party to about 30 additional guests for drinks. The staff was fantastic and so attentive - highly recommend for your next event. Reviewed on 17-05-2017
Blake F(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2016 We just had our wedding at The Dorrance this weekend and I can not say enough about it! I am a super type A person and prefer to do everything on my own. But working with The Dorrance, and especially Lindsay, I truly felt like I could trust their team and had nothing to worry about! Which is shocking to me still. They were like a team of wedding planners and went through every detail with me so I had nothing to think about on the day of. Also, the food and bar is incredible - everyone raved about it. And they bar staff was super awesome on the night of - so fun and really happy to be there! Also, my wedding was the same night as the Pride parade in Providence. I was worried about it at first - logistics and such - but Lindsay totally reassured me that it wouldn't affect parking and such. And it didn't! In fact, it was an awesome addition to the night! ALSO - The Dorrance itself is an incredible builing. I did nothing with decorations because it is so beautiful on it's own. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the Dorrance!! Reviewed on 20-06-2016
Kristen DiSaia(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2015 We had our ceremony and reception at The Dorrance on 9/26 and it was even better than I had imagined it would be.\rThe Dorrance was our last stop after looking at close to 10 venues in Boston, Newport and Providence. We instantly fell in love with how beautiful the space is and knew it was \"the one.\"\rRegina and Lindsay were so helpful leading up to the big day. Regina, the co-owner, constantly reassured me and let me know she was there for me and would do whatever needed to be done to make the day exactly how we wanted it.\rCo-owner Jean was in charge of us the night of the wedding and she really knows her stuff. She runs a tight ship, which is great because she made sure we ate and were where we needed to be. It's easy to lose track of time and miss things, but Jean made sure we were right on schedule the entire night.\rA few mall complaints:\r1. The cake and coffee weren't served; they were placed in the corner of the other side of room, where cocktail hour displays were set up earlier. A lot of guests didn't know it was there (the band announced it later), and it was also difficult for people to juggle cake and coffee through the dance floor back to their seats. We paid a lot of money for our cake, and a lot of it went to waste. There was an entire tier of vanilla cake that I didn't even see sliced and they didn't give us any left over to take home (besides our top tier of course)We were also charged an additional $3 per person for \"coffee service\" and there's no way that we went through over $300 worth of coffee (there were just 2 carafes left by the cake, and again, most guests didn't know it was there). Cake and coffee should be served to guests!\r2. We paid extra per person for a \"late night pizza\" snack. I was told by Regina that these would be passed by servers, but they ended up sticking them in the same corner that they stuck the cake. Again, not many people new it was there, and by the time the band announced it, the pizza was cold. For the amount we paid, there were not many pizzas laid out either!\r3. I don't like the \"by consumption bar.\" I'm pretty sure our final bar tab was padded by the bartenders. Most venues offer a flat rate open bar price per person. This is a better way to go, and they should think about changing this.\rOverall, our night was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments. Countless guests described our wedding as \"regal.\"\rI would wholeheartedly recommend this venue for your wedding, and we look forward to going back to eat dinner for a special occasion. My husband and I chose The Dorrance in downtown Providence for our reception. It was the absolute perfect choice for us. Jean and Lindsay were flawless in their execution of the entire night and listened to everything we said we wanted out of the night. The food is 5 star, the cocktails were delicious and the service was amazing. The property itself is so ornate and beautiful, all we needed was some flowers to really set the tone for our wedding. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone with champagne taste on a budget!! Reviewed on 29-09-2015
