The Rhapsody is a wedding venue located minutes from Kansas City. This expansive property offers an array of beautiful wedding and reception locations. Owned and operated by a husband-and-wife duo, this pair understands the importance of wedding celebrations. Their full-service approach ensures that you experience the day of your dreams. Your wedding journey begins on Day 1 when booking at The Rhapsody. Our In-House Wedding Planners (INCLUDED IN THE BASE COST) will hold your hand through the process of planning your wedding. Color schemes, decorations, table decor, minute by minute timeline, vendor choices, table layouts and more will be discussed, recorded and brought to life by our team. We also provide a Wedding Coordinator for your ceremony that takes place at The Rhapsody. By providing a stress-free planning environment, providing a team of professionals to both set-up and take-down everything belonging to The Rhapsody, and finally providing a coordinator to oversee the details, we ensure a memorable day for you and your loved ones. I cannot say enough kind words to describe how pleased we are with The Rhapsody. Bryan and his team were with us every step of the way, giving us a sense of peace, knowing our wedding would move forward smoothly, leaving us to simply enjoy our special day. The venue provided everything we could have imagined for the perfect ceremony, from the outdoor Pergola for the ceremony, the Covered Patio for our guests to mingle in a comfortable setting, to the indoor Grand Ballroom, and everything in between. The Bridal Cottage for the women to prepare themselves in a beautiful, comfortable (and private) setting was an unexpected, nice touch. The Villa for the men to have their own place to hang out and just be guys was another surprising detail that we would have never thought about. Bryan, as the DJ, just made the whole experience even better than expected. His artistic talents in making the music fit just right with all the crazy people we had at our wedding was outstanding! But, as impressive as the venue itself was, it pales in comparison to the staff. They provided so much information and details for our day that they gave us a true sense of peace knowing our big day would go off without a hitch. The Rhapsody provides everything any couple would need for their event; they are a one-stop shop and go above and beyond to make any event PERFECT!Not only did we feel a true connection with the staff, but we also felt as if we had made new friends. I look forward to assisting the Rhapsody and the staff in helping future couples, answering any questions, and giving them a small piece of what The Rhapsody staff gave to us: a sense of calm, knowing full well our wedding ceremony was in good hands! The Rhaposdy was amazing and made our dream wedding come true!!! Anytime I was feeling stressed or running into hiccups Andrea and Bryan were more than eager to find a solution. We used their DJ services and wow! Bryan kept the party going and we had guests on the dance floor all night. We also used their Photo Booth which was a huge hit with our guests. My bouquet was also purchased through the venue and it was absolutely gorgeous.Our day of coordinator was LuAnn and she went above and beyond. We had an outdoor wedding planned and the weather decided to drop down to 40 and pour all day. LuAnn was able to flip our wedding from the garden to the covered patio in 30 minutes. Our ceremony was still absolutely beautiful. I would recommend the Rhaposdy to any couple I know planning a wedding!

The Rhapsody made everything so easy for us! Not only do they have meetings for us as often as we needed, they also provide other services such as DJ and floral. The rhapsody was perfect. They had list of recommended vendors (of all sorts), tips and advice, lists of to do things (two versions), a huge variety of decor options, affordable amenities, and the list goes on! DJ Bryan was incredible and so kind and thoughtful! Sabine and Andrea were so creative and sweet! I mean everyone was so nice! It was definitely a dream wedding come true! With The Rhapsody, there was little to no panicking because they took care of so many things and made the process so simple. They have monthly planning meetings where they go over different topics to help you prep for the big day and they were always available to answer any questions we had. And believe me, we had SO many questions. We were worried we might be getting annoying. But they were always happy to answer every single one of our questions. We had my daughter's wedding at The Rhapsody June 10th. It went flawless. She had her dream wedding. Brian was fabulous as well as the wedding coordinator/planner. They all made us feel so relaxed and we were able to enjoy the day with our daughter and new husband, family and friends. I highly recommend this venue!

From the moment you walk in the door for your tour to the moment you get your final email from them, you are treated like family and as if your wedding is the most important one. The venue is nothing short of beautifully spectacular!! Bryan, Amanda, Sabina, Holly and everyone else were so helpful and very responsive with any questions we may have had. We used Bryan, the in-house Rhapsody DJ and let me just say that every single one of our guest thought he was simply amazing!!! He knew what kind of night we wanted and delivered above and beyond!! From the moment you walk in the door for your tour to the moment you get your final email from them, you are treated like family and as if your wedding is the most important one. The venue is nothing short of beautifully spectacular!! Bryan, Amanda, Sabina, Holly and everyone else were so helpful and very responsive with any questions we may have had. We used Bryan, the in-house Rhapsody DJ and let me just say that every single one of our guest thought he was simply amazing!!! He knew what kind of night we wanted and delivered above and beyond!! I would highly recommend The Rhapsody - Wedding and Reception Hall for your wedding. You will not be disappointed in any way!!

Holly was the best coordinator I could ask for, Andrea and Sabina were absolute magicians with bringing all of our decor and floral ideas to life, and Bryan was the best DJ weâve experienced at any wedding weâve been to. We started our planning with Bryan and he gave us all the tools for success. Vendor recommendations, a thorough tour and guide to make our wedding day go off without a hitch. The venue was gorgeously dressed from inside and out, each table was designed according to our meetings, and no detail was left out. My feet are still sore from the amazing music that was played by our DJ Bryan, and in a nutshell, he threw it down! The Rhapsody is highly recommended and our day was very special and will be raved about for years!

The Rhapsody was fantastic from start to end. The venue is beautiful, clean, and up-to date. From the moment I walked into this venue, I knew it was the one I had to get married at. The atmosphere was the most stunning Iâve ever seen. From the moment my husband & I booked The Rhapsody, Bryan & Rita were always available to answer all of my questionsâŠ.& I had a lot of them! Never once did they make me feel like I was being a burden, they just wanted to make sure our special day was perfect, & it was! We got married on a Friday so they allowed us an extra hour on Thursday (rehearsal day) to set up decorations that we were bringing in since we did not go with a center piece package & rather provided our own. This helped so much as we didnât have to worry about decorating on the day of. Wedding day I felt was a breeze! Everything went according to plan & it was perfect. I believe our only downfalls were the fact that the wrong song was played not only once but twice for when my husband walked down the aisle. When my husband said it was the wrong song, Bryan argued that it was the correct one. I do believe my husband, who picked the song, would know if it was the correct one or not. No apology was ever given. The other downfall is having to have every single thing out of the bridal cottage by 3/3:30pm. Unless you keep all of your stuff in one spot & clean up as you go, with 12+ people in the cottage, itâs almost impossible. So it was very stressful on myself & my family/friends to have to rush rush rush to get everything out of there. It would be nice to designate an extra person (friend or family member) to go in an clean up during the reception once the more important parts are over. That way things arenât forgotten in the rush of things & the mothers/bridal party donât have to focus on that & just get to enjoy the day. I am still giving The Rhapsody a 5 star because they truly were amazing & no venue is absolutely perfect. Everyone has their flaws & makes mistakes & we learn from them & only get better. My husband & I highly highly recommend The Rhapsody! They are forever family to us!

I had the absolute worst experience with this vendor. All my other vendors were phenomenal, but working with the Rhapsody was a nightmare. Itâs been almost two months since my wedding day and I still canât figure out how they have such good reviews on the knot.During the tour to look at the venue, Bryan said they would be able to add different colors of napkins and sashes if I couldnât find any I liked. When planning came around I was told their prices were going to go up soon so I should send in a check for any decorations I was going to have them do. I sent in a check for chair sashes assuming Iâd be able to get the colors I wanted as I was told this during the tour. I got with Rita about the colors I was wanting and she wasnât timely with her emails due to being in the hospital and so I got with Bryan. He said they wouldnât be doing that and acted like I was unreasonable. I was willing to purchase them myself and let them add them to their collection, because I didnât want my family to have to decorate. I ended up ordering my own sashes and table runners as their colors are old and out dated. I told Rita I was disappointed in how this interaction was handled and she let me have their decorator steam and put the chair sashes on but the whole encounter was still super frustrating and stressful. I asked for a refund for the money I paid for their chair sashes and I didnât receive the check until almost two months after my wedding. She supposedly sent it twice, but when I suggested she get tracking, she never did. The biggest kicker of all this is the fact that they wanted to buy my chair sashes from me after the wedding.They donât work with people who are coming from out of town. They werenât helpful in working with us for appointments or zoom meetingsThey assigned a day of coordinator with less than 2 weeks until the wedding. We were told a coordinator would be assigned early July and it was July 27th when one was assigned and I had to ask for her to be assigned. House DJ Bryan backed out after a year of having him booked and didnât give an explanation and then giggled about it during one of the final meetings.Requirements in the contract that didnât seem like they would matter or be a big deal, but actually ended mattering and being a pain. For example, the cottage doesnât open until 8am, so if you have a big bridal party you wonât have enough time to get all the girls hair and makeup done before the ceremony start and still do a first look and pictures beforehand.Bryan verbally recommended Brancatos during the tour and then acted like he would never have recommended them and acted as if I was lying.The roles on who does what is very confusing. I talked with 3 different people who ran the venue and none of them communicated with each other so it made planning a nightmare.I was on my bachelorette party the weekend before the wedding and told her Iâd be busy and unavailable Thursday-Sunday because of it and to call my fiancĂ© with questions. She didnât call him and called me Sunday as I was in the airport trying to get home. This was 6 days before my wedding and the stuff she was calling me about should have been discussed before hand with my coordinator if they had assigned one when they were supposed to.Definitely would not recommend this venue and would give them 0 stars if I could.

We had a great experience with the Rhapsody! We had both our ceremony and reception here. All the spaces at the Rhapsody are absolutely beautiful! The people there are extremely friendly, helpful, and low-pressure. They do all the setup, take down, and decorating, plus they provide a day-of wedding coordinator who makes sure everything runs smoothly. We also worked with Bryan, their in-house DJ. He was very fun, charismatic, and professional. He both MCed and DJed for the wedding and really worked to engage with our guests. We had a great experience with the Rhapsody! We had both our ceremony and reception here. All the spaces at the Rhapsody are absolutely beautiful! The people there are extremely friendly, helpful, and low-pressure. They do all the setup, take down, and decorating, plus they provide a day-of wedding coordinator who makes sure everything runs smoothly. We also worked with Bryan, their in-house DJ. He was very fun, charismatic, and professional. He both MCed and DJed for the wedding and really worked to engage with our guests. He kept the dance floor full the entire night and helped make sure our guests had fun. Everyone at the Rhapsody helped us have the best wedding possible and all our guests had an amazing time. We highly recommend the Rhapsody!

The Rhapsody was the venue of our dreams which became a reality when we got married here in July 2022! We immediately fell in love with the beautiful garden ceremony area, the waterfall, flower wall for pictures, and gorgeous ballroom. We wanted to get married outside in a garden and this was perfect for us. Also, having the covered patio as a backup option if it rained was a relief! Having our getting-ready areas, ceremony, and reception all in the same location made it so easy for us and our guests. The fact that this is a family-owned business really made it special. We worked with Rita and Bryan (owner/mother and son) as well as Steph (day-of coordinator that they provided for us) and they were spectacular at helping us with whatever we needed. Bryan was also our DJ and we wouldnât have wanted it any other way - love the way he mixes his music and the presence he brings! There is a Google Drive that they share with you that contains so much helpful information that we used as well. We got the centerpiece package from them where we got to design all the centerpieces and table colors and on the day of they set up AND took down all the tables - which took a load off of us and our family at the end of the night. Honestly, we will miss our meetings at the Rhapsody! We are so glad we chose The Rhapsody for our wedding and would highly recommend this venue!

When searching for a venue, the main features we looked for were having a ceremony and reception at the same venue as well as having a back up plan if it rained. We wanted an outdoor ceremony! The Rhapsody has the best rain backup plan in the Kansas City area. Luckily, it didn't rain during my ceremony and we were married outside. The venue is gorgeous and included several amenities at no extra cost, such as a flower wall, simple table decorations, table cloths, our names projected on the wall, floral decorations in the reception area and a day of coordinator. Rita, Bryan and Steph were the dream team! They worked with me to complete our vision and were extremely proactive in their communication! Also, Rita, provided advice based on her experience in the wedding industry! We did have a small hiccup of air condition issues in the bridal cottage. However, they quickly brought in fans and helped work through the issue. Bryan was our DJ as well! He had about a two hour meeting prior to our wedding and discussed everything. I'm a constant song changer in the car and he made a fast mix. Our guests loved him!

This venue was the perfect place for our perfect day and they made it happen. This venue is family own and operated and we definitely got that treatment. We highly advise taking all of their additions and options for a wedding. We got the best floral arrangement, in-house DJ, and mirror photo booth. The florist, Rita, did all of our flowers for the day and even our wedding party flowers and boquet. Everything was perfect and exactly what we were wanting! The Rhapsody was a wonderful place to get married! It has several beautiful options when it comes to the location of the ceremony on the premises, you can get married at the pergola, under their patio, or indoors, so there are plenty of backup options in case weather is an issue. It almost was an issue on my wedding day, as that was probably the only thing that happened that day that I remember being upsetting (and that was not the Rhapsodyâs fault, obviously!) If anything, the staff at the Rhapsody handled the situation wonderfully. Bryan was our planner from the beginning and knew I was really dreaming of getting married in front of the pergola with that diamond curtain. The weather wasnât ideal, it was 45 and chilly with some snow flakes. My girls werenât dressed to be in the cold, but everyone convinced me that the guests and our wedding party would be fine spending 20 mins outside for the ceremony. Everyone waited inside until about 5 mins before the start, and we were all back into the reception hall quickly and warmed up. Iâm so happy our day-of coordinator (Kaci), Bryan, and our Photographer (who is a longtime vendor of the Rhapsody) Angela Shipps convinced me that the outdoor ceremony was the best bet. Bryan was our in-house DJ, and did a great job keeping everyone engaged and kept the party going all night. He played all the music we wanted (and left out some we specifically asked him NOT to play) and he was very attentive to how we were doing all night. All transitions were smooth between all the first dances/games/open dance floor. The only feedback weâve heard from our guests is there were some songs they had suggested that he didnât play. Thereâs probably not one DJ that has every song that anyone can think of - so I would only suggest to keep working on broadening your library!Overall, the planning process went smoothly for the most part. As with anything, make sure you keep a good line of communication open and know what exactly comes with what package and donât be scared to clarify when it comes to what youâll have to pay extra for. They suggest amazing vendors as well, we used Hy-Vee for our flowers/cake/catering and it was so easy! They were wonderful. Top Shelf was amazing as well, the bartender was a hit, and she was so accommodating to me and my husband. Thank you Rhapsody for a wonderful wedding!!!

I was completely blown away by our experience at the Rhapsody. Rita and her team made everything from booking to planning even the tiniest details of our ceremony and reception easy and stress-free. We started searching for venues rather early in the process (started planning Summer of 2020, got married in December 2021) because we were worried about the effect COVID would have on availability. The gang at the Rhapsody were fantastic about working with us to find a date in the time frame we wanted and then ensuring we had all of the important planning dates and information along the way. The information you receive when you book, as well as the information you receive in your Google Drive is incredibly helpful to help with your decisions and planning process. I really can't say enough about how easy Rita and her team made planning our wedding. It was virtually stress-free.Our day-of-coordinator, Stephanie, was a gem. She made sure we were able to see my vision for the ceremony come to life and it was stunning. She was super patient with all of my questions, and most importantly, she made sure I didn't have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding. I highly recommend adding on one of the flower packages. You'd be hard-pressed to match the Rhapsody's price at a different vendor and Rita does a beautiful job with the flower arrangements. Plus, it frees you up from worrying about coordinating with yet another vendor, or about setting up / tearing down those decorations yourself the day of the ceremony. I unfortunately can't speak to the in-house DJ because we ended up using a different DJ service for the reception. This isn't a reflection on Bryan at all, we simply got lucky a few weeks before booking The Rhapsody and locked in an unbeatable deal with a different DJ. The Rhapsody team made it super easy for our DJ to set up and operate, though.

I highly recommend this venue. The staff was extremely friendly and very professional. The DJ did an amazing job. The wedding coordinator Stephanie was so sweet and did great keeping my wedding party in line, and trust me that wasnât easy. Miss Rita went above and beyond to execute my vision and she actually exceeded my expectations! I thank them from the bottom of my heart I canât think of one issue that I had other than me forgetting to put my veil over my face! Other than that the night was absolutely perfect and I constantly keep playing it over and over again in my head the venue was so clean And the outside bar was a really good addition we didnât have to worry about any bugs either so that was a plus as well.

I had my wedding/reception there on 8/14/21 and it was the most magical day and I have to give The Rhapsody credit for a lot of that! From the very beginning, Rita and Bryan (owners) worked directly with my husband and I on wedding prep details and planning. They covered every aspect of our special day (area for the ceremony, decor, music, schedule, vendors, etc.) and made sure we had a plan for everything and all of our questions were answered. They allowed us to meet with them numerous times and they even hosted workshops throughout the year to help couples preparing for their special day. Our wedding was originally planned for 8/8/20, but with COVID really on the rise then, Rita and Bryan allowed us to push out our date for no additional cost. They were very accommodating and understanding. We used Rita for our centerpieces by purchasing one of their special packages and she did a great job! They were so beautiful. We also used Bryan as our DJ and he really helped get the party started and keep it going all night long! Oh my goodness. I canât begin but rave about how amazing Bryan, Rita & stephanie are! We booked and planned our wedding in 6 months. It was such an amazing, smooth experience, and a lot of that had to do with our vendors! When we booked them, we also decided to go with their in house DJ (Bryan) their Photobooth, and highest dĂ©cor package (Rita) so I didnât have to do much đđ They absolutely NAILED IT with our florals, centerpieces, and decor! The venue has a girls cottage and a guys area as well to get ready in, which is beautiful for photos. The venue also came with coordination and planning. I did a lot myself (because I wanted to) lol but it was great knowing they were there if I needed them. Communication was great. The florals turned out AMAZING (Rita made my bouquet, wrist corsages, and centerpieces) and our coordinator (Stephanie) and Bryan made sure our day went as smooth as possible! They are absolutely incredible! Would def 10/10 recommend!

Oh my goodness. I canât begin but rave about how amazing Bryan, Rita & stephanie are! We booked and planned our wedding in 6 months. It was such an amazing, smooth experience, and a lot of that had to do with our vendors! When we booked them, we also decided to go with their in house DJ (Bryan) their Photobooth, and highest dĂ©cor package (Rita) so I didnât have to do much đđ They absolutely NAILED IT with our florals, centerpieces, and decor! The venue has a girls cottage and a guys area as well to get ready in, which is beautiful for photos. The venue also came with coordination and planning. I did a lot myself (because I wanted to) lol but it was great knowing they were there if I needed them. Communication was great. The florals turned out AMAZING (Rita made my bouquet, wrist corsages, and centerpieces) and our coordinator (Stephanie) and Bryan made sure our day went as smooth as possible! They are absolutely incredible! Would def 10/10 recommend!

Our daughters wedding was at The Rhapsody in Independence Missouri April 30th. We had to reschedule the date twice due to the pandemic. We originally had it on a Saturday but ended up with a Friday due to the volume of weddings being rescheduled. We are so happy we had it on a Friday. Worked out well for our out-of-town guest and gave us time on Saturday to spend time together. We loved the decorations and fresh flower arrangements that owner Rita made. Highly recommend Bryan the DJ. He prepared Brooke and Lee with itinerary for the entire wedding. He laid out what was needed to keep the wedding reception moving and how to ensure they had time to thank each guest. He spliced some music together for them. He was very enthusiastic and professional. Stephanie the wedding coordinator was organized and accommodating. She walked us through the entire ceremony. Kept the wedding party organized. She helped set up the live stream and helped keep photo booth operating. She also cleaned up several spills. At the end of the evening she made several bouquets out of the fresh flowers for our out-of-town guest. At the end of the evening when we were loading up our stuff one of the groomsmen made a comment this is the first time Iâve attended a wedding that had the least amount of stuff to load up. Its because The Rhapsody accommodated for most of our needs we didnât have to do anything it was wonderful. Iâve already had three people reach out to ask the price of the venue which I felt was very reasonable for everything that was provided and the professional guidance we received. Rita from the very beginning prepared us, set up meetings with us. Told us what to expect. Bryan and Stephanie complemented by providing us with their professional guidance during their meetings. Best decision we made. Highly recommended Deb.

Rita and the rest of the staff paid close attention to details, handled most of the planning, were flexible, and cared about making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it to be. The Rhapsody is family owned and you can tell their entire heart is into their business and providing quality services to brides/grooms. The Rhapsody essentially brought my dream wedding to life at an affordable cost. I am usually very hands on but planning a wedding can easily become overwhelming if you are like me and try to take on too much. I was able to give up some control and communicate to the Rhapsody team exactly what I wanted and they beautifully executed everything! The venue has potential to work with a variety of budgets and can be as all-inclusive or as DIY as you would like. I personally chose the upgraded centerpiece design package and felt like it was a reasonable cost for all the extras you get for the venue to help recreate those Pinterest designs you fall in love with. Not only does Rhapsody provide a beautiful venue space but they also provide so much guidance and planning tools to keep scattered brides/grooms organized. I used every spreadsheet, booklet and document that they provide to all couples to stay on task and keep all my vendors on the same page! Would recommend this Venue to any couple planning a wedding in the Kansas City area!

We had our amazing wedding at The Rhapsody on August 22, 2020. It was fantastic. I found the venue online and after a tour, I absolutely knew we had to have our wedding there. Rita was fantastic to work with. Kaci and Anna were AMAZING the weeks before and day of our wedding. Everyone was so helpful, responsive, and took the time to answer all my questions and quell all of my fears. We splurged half of our budget on The Rhapsody and it was worth every penny. We went with the basic package and I was worried it would be too little but it was PERFECT! Not only do they take care of decorations, centerpieces, and clean-up, but the amount of time you get and the Grooms Room and Bridal Cottage. The decorations and centerpieces were beautiful, the photobooth was a huge hit! The venue is absolutely breathtaking. I wish I could go back and have another photoshoot with just my husband and I. They try to make your wedding as smooth as possible which was perfect since I planned ours myself. We received a folder of planning information, layouts, templates for timelines, it was great. Rita went above and beyond to make our wedding fantastic. My family was suspicious of our Game of Thrones theme but it went so well in this venue all of our guests raved about the elegance of the venue and decorations. I want to go back and relive this day so much!! The Rhapsody is THE place to have your wedding or event.

Beyond the family, their staff is amazing and were all over the place during our wedding making sure everything was running smoothly. After our first venue went bankrupt Rita was so sweet and welcomed us in with open arms, helping to settle our fears and calm our nerves. Then throughout this pandemic it's so obvious how much they care about their couples, everything from keeping us up to date on the most recent policy changes to 1am nights the week of discussing last minute safety measures we need to take. I can't say enough about The Rhapsody! The venue and grounds are simply beautiful, with three distinct spaces for guests to enjoy, the garden area (where my daughter's ceremony was held), the piazza-style terrace with waterfall and fireplace, and the gorgeous ballroom. That's not even mentioning the wonderful bridal cottage and groom's area. They have truly thought of everything! Rita, her family, and staff are top notch and there for you every step of the way! When we first considered The Rhapsody, I thought the price was a little on the high side, but once I realized what a special place it was and all of the extras that are included, I quickly realized what a great value it is, as well. The only slightly negative thing I can even think of is that I would have liked to be able to hold the rehearsal on Friday, instead of Thursday, but I understand their schedule and it wasn't a big deal. Definitely check out The Rhapsody for any event, it really is a hidden gem!

Our original venue closed 8 week prior to our wedding, and we were frantic. The entire staff at The Rhapsody was so helpful and accommodating. They truly care about their couples and go above and beyond. We had their in house florist do all our arrangements, and she did a beautiful job. They even have a day of coordinator, who keeps everything and everyone on track. The bridal cottage was a HUGE help. I had seven bridesmaids and we were able to get ready together and not feel cramped. If you need a venue, this is the place.

Rita, Kaci, and Bryan helped us with our event. All three of them were very kind, and extremely helpful to have on our side during this process. Kaci was our wedding planner and she did everything she said she would, and more! Bryan was our DJ for the reception and both sides of our families are still talking about how well he did. Rita did our bridal party flowers, and centerpiecesâ they were well over our expectations, and out of this world amazing! Below/attached are some pictures of decorations, and the cottage where the bridal party got ready in. My husband and I were very pleased with how our day went at the rhapsody. We were looking at old mansions in KC for a wedding reception venue for months but their reviews were horrible. We didnât want a reception in cookie cutter hotel venue. Then we I went to the Open House for The Rhapsody in Independence, MO . Never expected to fall in love with a wedding venue when we toured the Rhapsody in 2018. The venue was so beautifully classic and unique. It has an old world Tuscany charm. The staff at the open house were so nice and helpful. We never expected such an elegant setting so close to home and great hotels for out of town guests. We booked it for the reception and as the year flew by we were informed of updates and improvements . The Rhapsody added a roof with lights and fans that covers their gorgeous patio, new flooring, new chairs, an outside fireplace, larger bar and a privacy fence. The Rhapsody just got better and better. At every turn throughout the year, if a problem came up in our planning, Rita Scherer at the Rhapsody either solved it or gave us great advice. Nothing phased her. She answered any question promptly and have us great alternatives. We saved money because Rhapsody has packages. Beautiful flowers in the wedding colors , set up, linens and a choice of many different centerpieces all included. Not only money saving but think of the time involved! We attended 7 family weddings through the US in 3 years. An informal poll was taken. Rhapsody won for best venue. I, as the MOB, voted it number one because itâs just not beautiful but the Scherer family went above and beyond in their customer service. We all felt we were working with family. We had no wedding coordinator since it was a reception after a destination wedding. If we forgot something or needed anything Brian was right there finding a solution . Brettâs Photo booth was so much fun. Brian won the family vote for best DJ of the 7 weddings. He met with the bride & groom and kept everything moving all night long.Bridal cottage is a must. We relaxed before the reception and just had fun. The red velvet settee is great for photos. So many places at this venue are great for photos- gardens, wall of flowers, arch and waterfall.Overall the Rhapsody has lots of fabulous space with a cozy elegant look. We are so thrilled about the way everything was handled. Even received our deposit back in a week! Thank you, Scherer family, we really appreciate all you did to make our daughter and new son-in-lawâs party special! We still have two unmarried children so we hope to see you soon!

They went above and WAY beyond when creating and planning the perfect wedding for us!!They offer so many in house options to help make your day run stress free. Rita brings your vision to life with her talented floral décor and centerpiece options. I highly recommend doing the upgraded flower option, this saved it saves you so much time and not having to worry about getting all the items to create your centerpieces. You literally just show up and everything is done! This was a major reason why I love this venue. The entire staff is so well organized, detail oriented and helpful with any questions you have. Bryan is the in house DJ and he was so helpful with every single little detail from the start of your ceremony to the very last song. I really love how they schedule a few times throughout the busy night to take a moment for the bride and groom to slip away and just enjoy a special moment with each other. They 100% put the couple first and I think that is HUGE! The Rhapsody family will always hold a special place in my heart!! Thank you guys for making everything absolutely incredible on our special day!!

Hands down the best group to work with!! Family friendly group that made all the difference! The event space for an outdoor wedding in the middle of Independence MO at first seemed lame... BUT when we saw the altar and the BEAUTIFUL landscape it was breathtaking! Our wedding was November so the mums were in full bloom, leaves changing gorgeously and a nice mix of Holiday feel with some pine trees around the area! Highly recommend this vendor and group to work with! Book early, they book up fast.

Got married here on June 1st, 2018 with an outdoor garden ceremony & an indoor reception & it was amazing! Their garden is beautiful w/ flowers everywhere & a waterfall. The indoor hall is beautiful & fancy looking. The staff is amazing! Rita (the owner) is the sweetest lady you will ever meet. Her friendliness & positive attitude are another reason that I knew that I had to lock in the venue & it & she did not dissapoint. She decorated the archways in the venue & the pergola outside that we got married under with these beautiful floral arrangements that I'm still getting complements about. She has so much much knowledge & experience that she is happy to share that made things easier on me. She gave us a folder with a bunch of recommendations on wedding venders (caterers, officiant, bartender, etc.) that helped us out tremendously. She also provided us with a list of hotels & near by restaurants for wedding guests who were traveling in from out of town. She provided us with a wedding day/wedding rehearsal coordinator that was a life saver. Her name was Elizabeth Rush & she was a God send & I can't imagine how my wedding would've turned out without her. They had an in-house DJ that we decided to use who was awesome & kept all my guests engaged & entertained. If you want your wedding to be as close to perfect as possible, Rita & The Rhapsody should definitely be your choice!

I couldn't be more happy with the job Rhapsody did helping us plan our wedding. Everything was beautiful from the hall to the flowers to the garden. Rita and her staff were friendly and caring. They went the extra mile to assure everything was perfect. All the guests loved the decorations. Brian the DJ was a lot of fun and kept the party rolling. The coordinators were awesome. We couldn't have done it without them. I highly recommend them. They were wonderful to work with.

Great experience, they handled everything beautifully and worked with us to meet all our needs. All the guests loved the decorations and the venue. Many, many compliments from all the guests. The DJ, Brian, was awesome as were the wedding coordinators. Extremely friendly and made everything a joy for us, the stressed out parents of the bride. Rita was always available and willing to work with us and keep us on track. She also did the wedding flowers and they were beautiful. Five stars is not enough for the great job they did.

My wedding was AMAZING here. I am so happy I chose to work with them because Rita and her staff made sure that my big day was PERFECT. The in house Dj was perfect and very versatile. He knows exactly what he is doing. The coordinator Liz was even amazing and she made sure my day went smoothly and that I was stress free. I didn't have to worry about anything and that was perfect. I really had nothing to worry about. It is very obvious that ALL of the staff are highly EXPERIENCED. My wedding day was really a fairy tale wedding and the set up was EVERYTHING that I always dreamt it to be. They did an amazing job! Thank you so much. I am OVERLY satisfied. I wish I could give 100 stars.

I would recommend this venue to anybody⊠My husband and I had a year and a half to plan our wedding so I did a lot of research of many different venues all over the Kansas City Metro area and even as far as Lawrence and I couldn't be happier that I picked the rhapsody!

Rita and the rest of the crew were willing to help with anything and everything to ensure the day was flawless. We loved the DJ, he knew how to keep everyone up and dancing which was great. Bryan Scherer (Manager) Hello everyone! My name is Bryan Scherer, I am the Building Manager/In House DJ for The Rhapsody. That is my beautiful wife, Amanda, on the left. (Yes!
